Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, So we're gonna head it right out to
the KWA Comma Spirit Health Hotline and bring on Broncos
starting defensive lineman Zach Allen. Zach, you're on with Ryan Evers,
bitch of beIN all Bright. Thank you for the time,
my friend.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
How are you?
Speaker 1 (00:11):
We're doing great? Uh, We're obviously very excited about this
game coming up on Monday Night football. How excited are
you to be back home playing in front of these fans,
especially in a primetime game.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Yeah, obviously playing in front of you know, our home
crowd helps us so much. They're awesome. And to do
it in a primetime game and an asc you know,
a conference game is going to be you know, super excited.
So really hummed up about it and can't wait for Monday?
Speaker 3 (00:37):
Is there anything two not having Joe Burrow back there?
You know you got Jake Browning back? There is there is?
There is there more of a if it was Burrow?
Is there more of an exciting to get up and
go get after Joe Burrow? Or is it more like, hey,
you know they they've got a lesser quarterback back there.
We're gonna We're just really gonna tee off on this
guy show them what this Broncos defense is all about.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
I mean, Jake's a hell of a quarterback. You know,
he's won a lot of games in this league. You know,
obviously it Joe's had a couple of injuries, so he's
you know, played a good amount of football and he's
done really well in those games. So it's, uh, you know,
he presents a lot of issues, and you know, he's
he's been a great player at you know, every level
high school, college in the NFL, So you know, we
just got to treat him the same. And you know,
(01:19):
they got awesome weapons on the outside and a really
good running back, and you know they're big upfront. So
it's gonna be, uh, you know, a good matchup, and
we're saying for it.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
I know it was not quite a year ago that
you played this team, but as far as games played
in between, it's it's relatively close. How different does a
team change or how much does a team change if
it's been basically like four games since you played them last,
even if it was a year ago.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Yeah, I mean I think you know, obviously there's similarities.
You know, it helps. I think the big thing that
helps is it's the same you know, coordinator and play
caller and everything like that, so you know you have
a little bit more take to watch. But you know,
people change. You know, they had a whole off season
to you know, kind of sell scout and everything, so
they are doing a couple of little different things, but uh, yeah,
(02:08):
they do a lot of things well, so it's uh,
it's gonna be a challenge.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
You know, this offseason, you made the NFL's Top one
hundred as voted on by your peers. Is there anything
you know more special about that that you're getting recognized
by your peers and all that, or is that just
some of that off season filler stuff and you just
just kind of put it behind you.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
Yeah. I think it's you know, it's definitely an honor
to to you know, make the list for the first time,
and you know, obviously you know you want to you know,
be higher on it and things like that. So yeah,
I mean it all the only thing that really matters
is the work, and you know, if you do a
good job, take care of your process everything like that,
you know, and have team success, you know, usually the
individual honors come. So you know, I just got to
(02:51):
keep it up and you know, get some wins and uh, yeah,
I think you'll see even more guys on that list.
So it's uh, it's a fun group to be a
part of.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Here, Zach Allen joining us here, you guys are once
again lead the league in sacks. This is something that
this team obviously did last year with sixty three your
three games into the season so far. I know there's
a lot of returning people, but it doesn't ever guarantee success.
Why do you think that this defense and especially you
guys up front, who are able to sort of sustain
(03:21):
that coming off of what you did last year into
the beginning of this year.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
Yeah, I think, you know, we just have really good
chemistry up front. You know, we got a lot of
guys who you know at cam Rush. You know, it's
not just you know, like us for upfront, you know obviously,
you know, it's really it's like an eight man deep
group so across the board. So it's a it's a
really fun group and it's an unselfish group. So you know,
(03:48):
if guys have a tough matchup or getting doubled, you know,
they'll they'll eat that and that leaves other guys open
and everybody in the group prize themselves on winning one
on ones and you know, making plays and stuff like that.
So yeah, guys are just we're just rushing together and
having fun doing it. And you know, also the coverage
has been awesome and giving us that extra you know,
(04:10):
quarter of a second that we need. So hopefully we
can just keep it up this.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
Year last one I have for you. Appreciate the time, Zach.
So of course, a couple of kind of a heartbreaker
losses and you got this opportunity to kind of get
back here in the win column closing out games. How
much of that has been a discussion for you guys
inside the locker room or is it simply we just
got to continue with the process because these are both
really close games in the end.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
Yeah, I mean there's obviously a lot to fix, but
there's also a lot of good you know, if you're
in those positions against two really good teams. So yeah,
like the example, like penalties, like we could obviously be
way better with penalties and stuff like that. So you know,
there are active conversations about it. But at the same
time too, you know, you know, we're we're doing some
good things, so we don't want to completely kind of
(04:58):
change course, but it's a really good group that uh,
you know kind of you know, self aware and looks
at it is always trying to improve. So yeah, it's
been really positive conversations and you know, I'm sure you know.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
We'll get that, right, Zach, really appreciate the time, man,
Best of luck on Monday.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
