Speaker 1 (00:00):
You can run if you want to, nixt to the
(00:01):
five next to the goal line, touchdown Denver. Sometimes you
just sort of urge the young quarterback. But you could
see that thing open up if bo Nicks decided, hey,
I'm gonna go ahead and run this and the Broncos
was seventeen seconds left in the opening quarter have their
first lead over the Bengals six to three.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
That's a great response there for the Broncos offense. I mean,
you know, field goal drive for the Bengals right off
the top. I'm sure the local fans, I'm sure the
fan base inside the stadium was thinking, here we go again. Yeah,
you stopped to a field goal. Then the Broncos offense
goes immediately three and now you can't help it. You're
just kind of like, come on, man, what do we
gotta do here? But then the Broncos defense forces four
(00:43):
plays thirty yards, punt for the Bengals nine plays sixty
four yards. That was our Drive of Distinction, present up
by Mercedes Benz of Lyttleton, where world class engineering meets
Colorado luxury visit. Mercedes Benz of Littleton experienced the drive
drive of a lifetime. Welcome back to bron goes React

Eighty five eighty five.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
We are giving away three fifty dollars gift cards to
Sam's Number three Diner in Bar So keep calling, keep texting.
That's happening tonight before midnight when we're out of here,
Patrick and Dever, you're up next year on Broncos React
and you have to be local here Denver, Boulder to
win one of those gift cards.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
Patrick, what's going on?
Speaker 4 (01:29):
What's going on? Brother?
Speaker 5 (01:30):
How are you feeling? Man?
Speaker 3 (01:31):
I'm good, Man, I'm good. How are you feeling?
Speaker 2 (01:33):
No?
Speaker 5 (01:33):
I think tonight feels good.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
I mean I couldn't agree more. I mean, you win
twenty eight to three in the NFL. Go ahead, Sorry
you broke up there.
Speaker 6 (01:42):
No.
Speaker 5 (01:43):
I think there's a lot of things, a lot of
positives tonight.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Okay, which ones did you like? Which ones jumped out
to you?
Speaker 5 (01:53):
I think like the offense and bo Nicks getting a
little bit of time that super good.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
Yeah, it looked like the offensive line of me, other
than the penalties, was holding up very nicely tonight. A
lot of time for Bonix to deliver some some impressive passes.
I thought, Troy Franklin, Marvia mem Scorla Sudden all caught
a lasers is a laser show from Bonnicks multiple times
in the defense.
Speaker 5 (02:18):
I think the defense needs to keep being aggressive.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
I couldn't agree more.
Speaker 7 (02:24):
We need a we need a forty five to three game.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
Well, hold on, let's not get too greedy here, Patrick,
he just what twenty eight to three?
Speaker 3 (02:32):
For crying out loud? My man?
Speaker 7 (02:35):
No, let's let's do it.
Speaker 4 (02:37):
Let's let's keep pressuring.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
Are you calling your shot forty five to three versus
the Eagles? Is that what this is?
Speaker 5 (02:44):
Eagles are gonna be tough, but but we gotta keep our.
Speaker 4 (02:49):
Defense is strong.
Speaker 5 (02:51):
We gotta run that seven people in the line.
Speaker 4 (02:57):
We gotta do that. Okay, we gotta do that.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
I like your optimism. Little greedy on my part, but
I like your optimism there, Patrick, We've got to win.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
Forty five to three. What is his twenty eight to
three done? Since we're soft? Back to the vote, Carson
you're up next here on Broncos Reen.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
What's up, Carson?
Speaker 8 (03:16):
Yeah, Ryan, I'm not sure about that last call there.
I'll hopefully give a little more intellectual insight than that.
But I've called in here before to complain about Sean
Payton's play calling, and I think it was awful. I
think the Bengals stink, and I think we got away
with a little bit those the play calling with bone
(03:37):
Nicks's interception. If we run the ball down the middle
of that whole drive, in fact, any of the drives,
we score every time, but somehow as ego gets in
the way, we throw a pick.
Speaker 6 (03:51):
We can't be.
Speaker 8 (03:51):
Having that against better teams. And we'd also like to
start a petition for Kyle Orton to get in the
Ring of Fame. So like to get your thoughts on that.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
Thanks man, all right, Carson, Kyle Orton in the Ring
of Fame. Well, as uh, the great Doctor Evil once said, how.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
About no, sorry, it couldn't help it. No, I I don't,
I don't.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
I don't see that. The dude drove a prius can't
do it. Man, I'm just kidding. I don't even know
if that's true. But he was called the prius of quarterback.
I say, yeah, I mean there's there's things to clean up.
There's things to clean up. I mean against better teams,
we have those discussions. It was the same thing after
the Titans game. It's like, well, against better teams, some
of these things wouldn't work out. Okay, it was enough
(04:34):
to win today. It was enough to win today convincingly.
This wasn't a sweated out fourth quarter. And I know
Broncos fans love those things. They don't, but I know that,
Like people were talking about, oh, well, this is a
boring game, and I guess Joe Bucken and the broadcast
Troy Aikman on ESPN were bored.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
I don't care. I don't think Broncos fans care.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
Make it boring, make it, make it unattainable for your opponent.
There wasn't a moment, I'd say, by the end of
half that you really ever thought.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
The Bengals were gonna come out and beat them.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
Now, the Bengals would have scored a touchdown if the
Broncos went three and out to start the second half.
Maybe maybe he gets a little nerve wracking, But if
you guys were in the stadium, they never felt like,
never feel like the Broncos are gonna lose this game.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
Deats.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
We'll go back to the Texan just a second, but
Deats're up next year on Broncos react was updates.
Speaker 8 (05:26):
Hey Ryan, they's sticking my call.
Speaker 9 (05:30):
I've allowed to take away from the game other than that,
you know, the Bengals suck, but and then you'll have
an offensive line and you know they were just giving
you know, Jake Browning a lot of help tonight. But
what I will say is that, you know, everybody obviously
are just saying it's just the Bengals, you know, and
(05:52):
you know that may be true, but you know, and
I keep seeing a lot of people saying that next
weeks is going to be you know, a crab shooting
where he's going to get blown now like forty five
to ten or something I saw.
Speaker 4 (06:03):
But I don't know.
Speaker 9 (06:04):
I mean, I've you kind of paid attention to the
Eagles the last you know, a few weeks. Their offense
is not that explosive. And if we if the defense,
we keep us in the game, I think we could
probably you know, sneak he got to win against them.
So I don't know, I think obviously we you know,
(06:25):
we got done what we needed to get done tonight.
And and Riley Moss too. I thought Riley Moss, you know,
he's been having some hard weeks past, you know, past
the past few games here. But tonight obviously he was
going again going up against Jake Browning in the past game.
But you know, Chie Higgins and Jamar Chase are no slouches.
Speaker 7 (06:45):
You know, he still has to you know, run with
those guys no matter what.
Speaker 9 (06:49):
And I think he got called up one penalty, but
after that he.
Speaker 7 (06:52):
Just really like stuck in there.
Speaker 9 (06:54):
So yeah, good game, Ready for next week?
Speaker 6 (06:57):
So next tick at the call?
Speaker 3 (06:58):
Yeah I did.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
Indeed.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
Hey you live local right live Denver Bowlder area?
Speaker 7 (07:02):
Ah, yes, dam and Littleton.
Speaker 3 (07:04):
Do you like Sam's Number three?
Speaker 7 (07:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (07:07):
Yeah, I do.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
Well, then I'd like to give you a fifty dollars
gift card to Sam Number three. How's that sounding?
Speaker 7 (07:11):
Oh wa, all right, cool man, I'm with you.
Speaker 3 (07:13):
On hold.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
My guy, Zack Seeker is going to talk to you
here in a matter of moments. Congratulations. We got two
more remaining fifty dollars gift cards to Sam's Number three
Diner and Bar, presenting sponsor of Denver Defense three and outs.
Broncos React gives away three fifty dollars gift cards every
week to listeners in Denver Boulder. So congratulations, deets. We'll
get your information. I'll get back to the phones in
just a second. A couple of texts I want to
read here. Dear Ryan, I do agree with you.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
Our Broncos did need to play a complete game. Building
confidence is key. You're a positive leader and teacher. Wow,
Holy cow. I love faith pandering always those I've been
strict on. My Broncos love the energy, faith and belief
in themselves. Philadelphia is on a birth city, looking forward
and quite optimistic.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
Why not us? Doesn't Bowen Company do well? Coming east?
Thanks for opening up the text line for us far
away fans. That's Denver depth. Thank you.
Speaker 4 (08:00):
Dem uh.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
The let's see here sixty three is eligible. I'm a
season ticket holder. That was announced so many times in
the home opener and the crowd started cheering it. I
carry it carried over for today, all right. So and
it says it's an organic thing. Okay, Well that that
sort of explains it, right, That's like what is that
the blank one ay two song? All the small things
for the avalanche. Locally, it just becomes like a local thing, right,
(08:25):
I mean, I dig it.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
Alex Petchewski's a very nice, likable guy too, but that
makes sense.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
So it just it's kind of become like a local
cheering thing inside the stadium like that.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
Very good. I'm listening outside Cincinnati.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
I'm gonna go to bed now, l L by the
way Ka comes in here but fades in and out,
but it's listenable in my truck.
Speaker 3 (08:47):
Very cool.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
Well, thanks for listening to us all the way out
in Cincinnati. Back to the phones we go, and Donnie,
you're up next year on Broncos react. We got open
lines three h three seven one, three eighty five eighty five.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
What's up, Donnie?
Speaker 10 (09:00):
Hey, So I got to be at the south stands
the center field, and I got to see Bonus make
them absolute beautiful throws, Like on the right side, all
you've seen was white defenders and he made these throws
and I'm like, oh, is it gonna be?
Speaker 4 (09:20):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (09:20):
Hold on, hold on, we gotta dump that. Did you
get that?
Speaker 4 (09:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (09:25):
Okay, Well, our streamers, our streamers probably appreciated that.
Speaker 3 (09:32):
Donnie.
Speaker 2 (09:33):
I'm sorry, I gotta I gotta let you go. I'd
say you get one, like Spider Man would say, but
but no, not in not in this not in this business.
So go and let Donnie in line two go. But
tell him thanks and if he if he wants to
call back next week, just a reminder, this isn't serious.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
Ex him, Richard, please keep it clean. You're up next
on Broncos. React. What's up, Richard?
Speaker 4 (10:00):
Yeah, with a great game, you know, I it's gonna
come down to I wish we were won two of
those tight games. I mean we it was a great team,
but man, we got some strong opponents coming up.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
Well you do you know, I have to say, Richard,
And I don't know if you agree with this. I mean,
most of the time, you just got to be good
enough to win the game in front of you. And
and yeah, you're you're certainly building four things into the future.
But the reality of it is is, because this is
really is a week to week league, what works today
doesn't necessarily have to be the same things that work
(10:37):
next week. You just want to build momentum and build
confidence within the team. And I think you did that tonight.
Speaker 4 (10:43):
Well we'll have got another question, a question really Okay,
Oh yeah, why when we watched on TV. Uh, there
are a minute later than when I listened to it
on the radio.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
Well, I mean there is a there is a tape
to lay I you know, I don't know. I think
you you can't find a way.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
To sync that up.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
People have figured out that trick, but yeah, I don't
know for you specifically in South Dakota. I don't know
what what what that trick would look like, but there,
but there are some people have figured out a way
to sync that out the TV with Yeah, yeah, yeah,
I think you like positive a certain amount.
Speaker 6 (11:21):
I can't.
Speaker 4 (11:22):
I mean, you guys are better announcers.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
I appreciate that. Yeah, I agree. I think if you
pause the TV, if you pause the TV at a
certain point, you can like time it out.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
You know what I'm saying, Like if you if you,
but you have to you have to do that. But
there's no there's no way to just do it without that.
Speaker 4 (11:39):
Oh because about later yeah TV.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
Yeah, I can understand that, and it gets.
Speaker 4 (11:46):
Really annoying, especially when they're talking the announcer they're talking
junk and I want to know the play and you
guys are explaining in it.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
Yeah, listen, man, I'm the same way, I like it.
I like SYNCD up.
Speaker 2 (11:59):
I'm a big fan of that too, Richard, thank you
so much for the call, man, you bet appreciate it.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
Yeah, I like a SYNCD up as well. A couple
of texts here. Thanks for the Chad. I wanted to
say so much about our running backs and their patients
and the runs.
Speaker 7 (12:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (12:11):
I thought that the running backs were phenomenal tonight.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
And especially on a weekend where Ashton Jenny, o'mari and
Hampton looked really really good. I mean, of course r J.
Harvey didn't have a three touchdown game like Ashton Jenny,
but r J. Harvey fourteen carries fifty eight yards, averaging
four point one per carry, and then four catches for
forty yards including a touchdowns.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
That's pretty nice.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
I mean, we're talking about almost one hundred yards, like
two yards short of one hundred yard all purpose game
from RJ Harvey. We'll take that, especially when he's not
even the lead back here. That's that one two punch
that you were looking for. Almost one hundred and sixty
rushing yards between the two of them, and then RJ.
Harvey working in the passing games. That's exactly what it's
(12:53):
supposed to look like back to the phones, Donovan, and
I will get to the text as well. Dot Evan,
you're up next to your on Broncos react with up man,
what's up?
Speaker 3 (13:02):
Hi?
Speaker 11 (13:03):
Thank you for having me. So I just want to
point out the amazing play calling by Sean Payton and
the connection between Bonnicks.
Speaker 12 (13:12):
And his receivers.
Speaker 7 (13:14):
Okay, go for it.
Speaker 11 (13:18):
So of course bone Knicks and his main target, Courtland Sutton.
Just the connection between them and the yards they can
get in, the efficiency they make that for and the
list of the screen passes they have to r J. Harvey.
Speaker 13 (13:34):
And I think RJ.
Speaker 11 (13:35):
Harvey is going to be a good running back for
the Broncos once he gets better and more experienced within
the NFL.
Speaker 2 (13:44):
Well, I agree with you that, And I did think
that the chemistry is built a little better this time around,
you know, I yeah, it is tough, right, I mean
you think that, you know, for the Broncos that that
some of these things, because a lot of these players
are returning, some of these things would be natural. Troy
Franklin still had a pretty tough drop today. But I
think overall, I've been impressed with the things that they're
(14:08):
building last week. He had some misses on some deep passes,
a couple of misses today, but I think that there
were still building momentum there.
Speaker 5 (14:16):
Yeah, I agree.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
Awesome, anything else.
Speaker 4 (14:19):
Donovan, No, nothing else?
Speaker 14 (14:22):
Thank you?
Speaker 2 (14:22):
All right, thank you, Donovan, appreciate it. Three or three seven,
three eighty five, eighty five. Let's go next to Carrie
in Boulder. You're up next year on Broncos. React was up, Kerry?
Speaker 14 (14:34):
Well, I am happy that we won tonight, and I
think a win is a win. And can we beat
the world champion Eagles? Because I am anxious to see
how that game is going to unfold? And I also
want to know that John Elway ever played against the Eagles.
(14:58):
And I'll hang up and let you add that trivia
for me.
Speaker 3 (15:01):
Okay, off the top of my head.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
I mean, I imagine he did, you know, as my
guy Dave Logan would say, as I can google, that
did John Elway ever play? I mean, I'm sure he did.
I mean, you know, in that entire career. But I'll
tell you what he did against the Eagles. Okay, one
in four over five games?
Speaker 3 (15:21):
There it is. Yeah, so he played. Let's see her.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
September eighteenth, nineteen eighty three, September twenty first, nineteen ninety two,
November thirteenth, nineteen ninety five. So these are examples of
games that he played and it did not go so well.
There's a thirty to nothing loss to the Eagles.
Speaker 3 (15:40):
I mean, we don't have to.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
Relive that because we're riding high on the Broncos win tonight.
But yeah, there you go back to the phones, we go.
Carry's always got a random one for me.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
Rhtts. You're up next year on Broncos react. What's up?
Speaker 15 (15:55):
Rhtt Hey, Ryan, thanks for being a great place for
all generations out here on the A fifty k AA lines.
I really just want to say that this is a
great win all around.
Speaker 5 (16:06):
I think Sean.
Speaker 15 (16:06):
Scheming up guys wide open, both hitting them. Would love
to see the receivers come down with more of them.
Would love to see if the defense and not give
both the ball with a deficit already from the start.
Overall great win. It's got to look a little bit
of a certain way already. We're getting there. Big test
on the road here though, in these next two weeks.
I think you're going to be huge for the rest
(16:27):
of the season. Ryan just want to shout out Broncos
Country for being really engaged with all the love for
Alex Polshewski when he comes into the game. So Ryan
just all loved Broncos Country.
Speaker 7 (16:38):
Right here, I dig it?
Speaker 3 (16:40):
Man, Hey, Red, do you live local?
Speaker 4 (16:42):
Yes, sir?
Speaker 6 (16:42):
All right?
Speaker 3 (16:43):
You like Sam's Number three Love?
Speaker 4 (16:45):
It's my favorite place?
Speaker 5 (16:46):
All right?
Speaker 2 (16:46):
Well, congratulations my friend. Do you just want a fifty
dollars gift card to Sam's Number three Dinner and Bar?
Speaker 5 (16:51):
Hey?
Speaker 15 (16:51):
Thanks, Ryan, appreciate you, man, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (16:52):
I appreciate you.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
Tim Leanna put you on a hold, my guy, Zach
Seeker's going to talk to you about that.
Speaker 3 (16:56):
Got one left. You guys have been great. The energy
going and pantering always does help.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
Just saying I'm not saying specifically what he said at
the beginning helps, but I'm not not saying that it helped.
We will Uh, we're gonna take a break here. Let
me take a quick go ahead, Zach here, if you're fine,
You're fine, go ahead. I'll wait till you're done. Five
six six nine's here. I'll read a couple of texts here.
Bo doesn't care enough to have patience. Don't tell me
he practices. If he practiced he needs to go because
(17:24):
I don't want to see him when he gets paid
and loses his fire.
Speaker 3 (17:27):
I don't even know what that means. But thank you. Hey,
this is Dottie.
Speaker 2 (17:31):
Sorry as the moment, but those throwers from Bull Hey, Toddy, Yeah, man,
I listen, I dig it. Uh yeah, we just can't
do that, you know, But yeah, you're in the moment.
He's just excited. I understand nix Key needs to keep
studying his playbook. Well, I think everybody needs to keep
(17:53):
studying their playbook.
Speaker 3 (17:55):
From Matt One. I like JK.
Speaker 2 (17:57):
Dobbins getting one hundred and one yards tonight too. I
liked the only and penalties for the Broncos to the
eleven for Cincinnati.
Speaker 3 (18:03):
Three. What do you think the Broncos third out efficiency
is tonight?
Speaker 6 (18:06):
Four?
Speaker 2 (18:07):
Next week against the Eagles, tough, I believe super Bowl champs.
But the following week London and the Jets. Here comes
number three, here comes three and three. Go Broncos bleed
orange and blue. Yeah, I mean, that's that's kind of
what they're looking at. It's not to say that they
absolutely are gonna lose to the Eagles, but I think
they're five and a half point underdogs right now, and
that feels about right.
Speaker 3 (18:26):
So it's it's gonna be a tough game. It's a
tough test, no doubt about that.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
We'll get back to the phones here on the other side,
CoDIAK Building Partners teamed up with Garrett Bowles and his
GB three Foundation for seventy two to charity. For every
Denver offensive point, CoDIAK Building Partners, through his Kodiak Foundation,
donates seventy two dollars the number seventy two's GB three
Foundation supporting Colorado children, families and veterans in need. Today's
(18:51):
twenty eight offensive points equals twenty and sixteen dollars for
a total of six nine hundred and twelve dollars for
the season to go.
Speaker 3 (19:01):
And we'll chout gear Bolse Tomar three o'clock.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
I can't wait to get his thoughts on this big
win for the Broncos, Howie, Jeremiah Dave All, hang on,
we got room for more. Three h three seven to
three eighty five eighty five or five six, six nine zero.
We're gonna take a quick break. We'll be right back
on the Kway Broncos Radio Network rounding New Trouble.
Speaker 1 (19:17):
And there's a second sack of the game for the Broncos,
and this one goes all to Nick Benito. Benito just
bear hugged Jake Browning to the turf back at the
thirty nine yard line, loss of seven on that play
for Benito, who had a half sack.
Speaker 3 (19:32):
He shared a sack with.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
Cooper tonight, so he's got one and a half on
the season, one and a half tonight, four and a
half now on the season.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
Man, Nick Benito's so so good in sack and a
half tonight. He has been on fire to start the season.
I think anybody that maybe had concerns about that contract
extension is quickly realizing that was a brilliant move by
the Broncos front office. For every sack made in today's game,
and there were three, the Dan Caplis Law Firm will
make a generous donation of Denver Catholic Charities, which services
(20:03):
more than fifty thousand homeless annually. For more ways to
sack homelessness, go to cc Denver dot org. Brought to
you by Dan Kaplis Law, a serious firm for serious cases.
Welcome back to Broncos React. I'm Ryan Edwards live from
the Spashburger Sports desk with a new four ninety nine
menu featuring the single on American Burger single of the
Luxburger and the new Americana Big Dog. We're on until midnight,
(20:24):
so another hour and a half. You guys can keep
calling in, keep texting in. Today's game is presented by
Children's Hospital Colorado, Official Children's Hospital of the Denver Broncos.
Speaker 3 (20:33):
We'll read more texts here, but we go back to.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
The phones in the meantime, and Jeremiah in Thornton, you're
up next year on Broncos React.
Speaker 7 (20:42):
What's up, Jeremiah, Yes, sir, thank you, Ryan for taking
my phone call.
Speaker 3 (20:47):
Sir, thank you.
Speaker 7 (20:49):
I just wanted to originally call in and talk about
how it seemed like when we're playing with the lead.
It's a different team. The defense is dominant when we're
playing with the lead. And if you're talking about next week,
let me play the Eagles. If we get off to
a fast start, which we did tonight, well I feel
(21:10):
like we got a chance to get to anybody when
you have the lead.
Speaker 2 (21:14):
Now, Jeremiah, I'm not going to completely disagree with you,
but the problem is the Broncos actually haven't trailed once
this season, so you're you're right in the sense that
if it's a significant lead. But the Broncos have had
leads in every single one of these games and didn't
trail or didn't we didn't trail at all. They lost
two games at the buzzer. So on one hand, I agree,
(21:37):
and on the other hand, it's don't. I don't know
if we can necessarily say that's one hundred percent true.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
But I see your point.
Speaker 7 (21:44):
Okay, I'll get your point too. Also, I mean, the
Flags tonight, we're kind of a all ego team. They
were pretty bad.
Speaker 3 (21:53):
Yeah, great, Yeah, it was. It was kind of a mess.
Speaker 2 (21:56):
Somebody's asking me a moment ago about the fair catch interference.
Speaker 3 (21:59):
The bronc is kind of bailed out on that one.
Speaker 2 (22:02):
I mean, I guess if you're giving the halo to
Marvin Mims there, But honestly, that kind of felt like
a muffed punt return, which would have been a big
deal because the Bengals would have been set up in
scoring position and that game, Yeah, the Broncos had a
three score lead, but it could have changed really quickly.
But I thought overall, there's some tiki tak calls. It
(22:24):
really messed with the flow overall. I mean the broadcast,
both the radio and the TV broadcast were commenting on it.
Speaker 3 (22:29):
I don't think that's necessarily the product that the NFL
is looking for. But what do I know?
Speaker 7 (22:35):
Yeah, well it was hard to watch and that was
if I'm wrong, So if I'm wrong, wasn't that the
most the fishing crew was the most flag team out
of all the fishing crews around league, That is correct.
Speaker 3 (22:47):
They average I think twenty four, but we were on
the under tonight with eighteen, so yay for us.
Speaker 7 (22:52):
Okay, one more thing, last question, I'll let to talk
about it the ending of the first hat when the
interception and the end zone and then we went down
and we scored again. Just talk about that and how
the moralizing that was and how it Squiting went him
and then how he got the mintum back. Just talk
about that.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
You don't mind, yeah, of course no. I And listen,
you throw the interception. I guess you could look at
it from one of two ways. You throw the interception,
which is obviously missed opportunity, but then you you come
right back down the field and was a minute. They
scored that touchdown drive in one minute, in one second,
nine plays eighty yards, so it missed opportunity against better teams.
(23:36):
I think those are all fair points to bring up.
But then simultaneously the response, I dig and it was
a thirteen play sixty eight yard drive. Boennix has got
to know better than that. He has to know better
than to throw that pass. It was a great athletic
play by the way by the linebacker, but he's got
to know better. Can't do it, Just can't do it.
(23:57):
But the response the defense responding with its replay the
three and out Bengals only game one yard, ran forty
nine seconds of clock total, got it back to the offense,
who moved right down the field and nine plays that.
That's pretty cool. Bengals are also kind of a mess.
I don't think you can do that against the Eagles
and get away with it. But we didn't play the
(24:19):
Eagles side.
Speaker 5 (24:19):
Did we.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
Dave and Iowa, you're up next year on Broncos React.
We got room for more. Three h three seven one,
three eighty five eighty five. We'll get back to the
text line a second.
Speaker 13 (24:27):
Hi, Dave, good evening, Ryan, thanks for what you do.
Thanks to the whole crew. Another quality broadcast. Thanks to
the defense. Will win need the championships. And I think
this ball game proved its tonight.
Speaker 2 (24:42):
Well that's for sure. And and then they were smothering,
they just they gave no life to that team. And
we had a caller earlier and I should have really
highlighted it, shouting out Riley Moss early in the game. Boy,
it seemed like that was gonna be a tough matchup
for him all night. I mean, T Higgins absolutely ate
him up the last time these two teams saw each other,
but Riley Moss was recovering from a knee injury.
Speaker 4 (25:03):
This time.
Speaker 2 (25:03):
He is healthy as far as we know, and so
it seemed like T Higgins was maybe getting the better
of the matchup early on. But he hung in there
and he was very very good tonight. So tip of
the cap to Riley.
Speaker 13 (25:14):
Moss, agreed, fired up as he was, he did.
Speaker 3 (25:19):
Well, yep, anything else, Dave.
Speaker 13 (25:22):
I think that'll do it. How about those five and
o cyclodes coming to Buffalo Land in a couple.
Speaker 2 (25:27):
Of weeks, you know, Dave, I wondered if you're going
to bring that up, man, I listen, the see you
see is in an interesting spot here. The kind of
teetering that was a tough game against BYU the other night.
I appreciate you, Dave, very good.
Speaker 13 (25:43):
Thanks Ryan, have a good week.
Speaker 3 (25:44):
I appreciate it you too. Yeah, Cyclones, I knew Dave
was going to bring that up. I had to know it.
To the text line, I'm saying, let's see here, Ryan,
you're the best broadcast ever. Thank you very kind.
Speaker 2 (26:00):
Broncos thirty five, Eagles twenty seven. Okay, all right, let's go.
I love Mims. Mims was really good tonight. Considering he
was questionable for the game with hip injury, Mims was
outstanding big catches tonight.
Speaker 14 (26:15):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (26:15):
Does Zach still think Gino is better than Bo? Did
you really say that? Zach Seegers. He's busy right now.
He would never say that. Did you say Gino Smith
is better than Bo Nicks?
Speaker 3 (26:29):
Now? It just just a yes or no? Yeah, But
the people want to no, no, no, I don't want
you to defend. I'm not asking you on the air.
I'm asking you yes or no. Did you say Gino
Smith is better than Bonicks? Oh my gosh, all right,
we're gonna have to talk about this. It's a boint.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
Okay, You've got a lot of hot takes that you
throw out there. That's the most ridiculous thing you've ever done.
Speaker 3 (26:50):
I don't want to know. Don't come on, I don't
want to defend it. That's that's nonsense.
Speaker 6 (26:54):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (26:54):
Back to the phones, Mario and Centennial. You're up next
to garld Broncos react.
Speaker 3 (26:58):
What's up, Mario?
Speaker 6 (27:00):
Oh right, I am so glad that I finally get
get to talk to you, first of all, first time,
long time. I absolutely adore you. You're the best in
the business. But I know you know that, but you're
too humble to ever say anything. Let me just say, man, Yeah,
Zach Seeker's no clue what he's talking about. Geno Smith
is not even in the same atmosphere as Boonik. So
(27:22):
we'll just get that out of the way really quick.
I'm gonna try to, you know, keep this short and
keep it quick because I know that you have a
lot of people waiting, because everybody wants to talk to
you after big win. Obviously, Ryan, I don't need to
see a forty five to three game. For anyone that's
been listening this entire time, that's an absolutely insane thing
(27:44):
to say forty five to three, that that kind of
game happens like once a year. I don't need to
see the Broncos win forty five.
Speaker 4 (27:54):
To three in order to be.
Speaker 6 (27:56):
Convinced that they are a good football team. And here's
the thing, man, they did exactly what they needed to
do tonight. They boat race an inferior team. This is
exactly the kind of game that they needed to play.
And honestly, if it wasn't for Luke Wattenberg, they probably
would have won forty five to three. But that's another
(28:17):
discussion for another day. I mean, Ryan, Luke Wattenberg is
as is about as useful as a poopy flavored lollipop.
Speaker 4 (28:26):
Really, it just has to be sad.
Speaker 6 (28:28):
I'm not saying that would be better. I'm not saying that, Ryan,
But my god, at one point he had back to
back penalties here the center, How are you off sides
as a center? That's insane. But the good things, okay,
Cortland Sutton looks fantastic, Mims was fantastic. JK. Dobbins had
(28:49):
the first one hundred yard rushing game since what twenty two?
Speaker 3 (28:55):
Correct?
Speaker 4 (28:55):
Ryan, My god, it is about time, goes legend.
Speaker 6 (29:00):
Latavious Murray was the last guy, the last Broncos running
back to have one hundred yard game. So thank god
we finally got that out of the way. And the
boat the bone Knicks pick was bad, you know, fourth down.
I wish he would have just run it, but it wasn't.
It wasn't an interception. I saw the replay. I'm sure
everyone saw the replay. That ball hit the ground.
Speaker 14 (29:23):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (29:23):
The officials totally had it out for us, Ryan, Uh,
and they wanted to keep it clothes for Vegas. But
the Broncos dominated nonetheless, And I gotta say, man, last thing, Uh,
it was fantastic that Alex Singleton did not cost us
the gate.
Speaker 2 (29:42):
Well, Mario, I think that Uh, you said all about
as you could say. I do look forward to hearing
more on Tuesday night on your podcast What It's Worth.
Speaker 4 (29:51):
You're You're the best.
Speaker 6 (29:52):
Ryan. I I just I can't even put into words
how much I love.
Speaker 4 (29:56):
And adore you.
Speaker 3 (29:57):
I appreciate you too, brother.
Speaker 7 (29:58):
Thanks.
Speaker 6 (29:59):
I tried to listen into a different postgame show when
you know, before you came on, it was terrible. I'm like,
I need some Ryan Edwards in my life immediately, and
thank god you came on just in time.
Speaker 3 (30:11):
All right, Love you, brother, Thanks for the call.
Speaker 2 (30:13):
Love you dude, all right, Mario, I listen whatever whatever
you think about Luke Ladenberg.
Speaker 3 (30:22):
And it wasn't great.
Speaker 2 (30:24):
But once again, the point has to be made that
if the Broncos coaching staff, who might know a thing
or two about offensive line play, if they thought they
had a better option at center right now, he'd be
playing now.
Speaker 3 (30:39):
The season goes on a lot of penalties.
Speaker 2 (30:42):
If they'll start to rack up the pressures so on
and so forth they feel like they can do better
than that'll be a discussion.
Speaker 3 (30:48):
But at this point, I'm I'm I'm going to believe
that they get a chance to see these guys more
than we do. But I appreciate Mario very much. He's
very funny guy.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
Take another call three h three seven one three eighty
five eighty five and Stacey mcla springs, what's.
Speaker 3 (31:02):
Up, Stacey?
Speaker 12 (31:04):
Hey there, Ryan, I just realized too, Barrio is I
was lapping out loud. That was such a great call. Yeah,
his podcast on Tuesday night. Okay, I have all these
things running through my head. First of all, I hate
when I leave the games and I have to drive home,
And then I realized I get to listen to you
so it's a nice kind of icing on the cake,
(31:28):
especially after tonight. I have a T shirt that says
victory Monday, and I'm wearing it tomorrow.
Speaker 6 (31:35):
Nice even though.
Speaker 12 (31:36):
Tomorrow is not Monday, it's Tuesday. So I'm gonna have to,
I think, look for like a victory Friday, because I'm
kivince We're gonna win Thursday night football. I got a
little miss like nostalgic tonight at the very end, because
you know, we went through like the greater part of
a decade and football.
Speaker 6 (31:54):
Was not fun.
Speaker 12 (31:55):
It was just not fun. It was painful. I mean,
it was miserable to watch, and the last two games
I felt like I was starting to age prematurely. And
then tonight watching watching like we're multi dimensional again, like
all of all you know, Fins and Dobbins.
Speaker 6 (32:15):
And r J.
Speaker 12 (32:16):
Harvey and it's not just the bo Nix, Cortland Sutton show,
and it's so much fun to watch, like it's fun football,
and it even when they lost the last two games,
it was really fun to watch them. And the really
cool thing I think is that this team likes each
(32:37):
other like we haven't had that probably in ten years.
I feel like since the Super Bowl fifty team. You
can just tell the chemistry in among this team is
not what we've seen in recent years, and it makes
a huge difference on the field. Like I just tonight,
(32:58):
I was standing there and they we're down to the
end and everybody singing take me Home Country Roads, and
I'm just like, life is good. Victory Tuesday. This is awesome.
Speaker 3 (33:10):
I dig it. I'm one hundred percent with you. Stacey.
Please drive safe out there. Thanks for the call.
Speaker 2 (33:14):
I really do appreciate it, and yeah, we get to
celebrate a victory Tuesday. The chemistry is really good with
this team. They're pretty close knit, and that's part of
the culture that they've been building over the last several years.
Speaker 3 (33:26):
It's the reason why eighty six percent of the.
Speaker 2 (33:28):
Team was returning this year's most in the NFL is
because they like what they built inside the locker room.
It's why they pay DJ Jones, they drafted save Jon Jones.
Speaker 3 (33:39):
I mean, they continue to add to that room. They
brought back Malcolm Roach.
Speaker 2 (33:43):
They probably arguably maybe didn't necessarily need to do that,
but they felt like that defensive line room needed DJ
Jones and so they got it done. Just sort of
an example of a guy that of all the moves
they made this offseason in free agency and otherwise, they
did them very specifically for what it would do for
the team chemistry to Stacey's point. So I love that
(34:05):
point that she brought up there, and you could sort
of feel that with the team.
Speaker 3 (34:08):
Now, that doesn't necessarily buy you wins.
Speaker 2 (34:10):
It doesn't mean buy you championships or anything, but it
certainly doesn't help the product on the field. It helps
rooting for that, and you do think it's going to
build to something. So I can't tell you what it's
going to mean for the season, but what I can
say over my time covering the NFL and watching the
NFL is the teams that are sometimes digging for something
(34:30):
that's a little bit extra when things aren't going the
way that they're supposed to go, they can lean on
that the fact that they believe in each other, they
like each other, does mean something. It really does. And
it's not just a bunch of highed mercenaries. It's not
just a bunch of you know, higher guns. You didn't
spend the most in free agency just to bring in
the most talent. You spent effectively, and we still haven't
(34:54):
even seen the full fruits of that yet, because you're
gonna get Drake Green lot some point and you're gonna
get Malcolm roach back and that's going to make the
defense even better. So great call, Stacey. We appreciate that.
Three three seven eighty five, five, six, six nine zero.
I'ms sink one more call here. Marty's been hanging on
a long time. Thank you very much for holding on, Marty.
Speaker 9 (35:10):
How are you?
Speaker 4 (35:12):
I'm good?
Speaker 16 (35:13):
Thanks for having me on, Ryan, Sir. I got the
I got the good, the bad, and the ugly for you.
The good o Nicks. Other than the interception looked really good.
There was a throw down to to Marvin Men's before
half that was he threatened and he put it on
a he put it on a line, yep to Marvin
and if he lost that ball, it's picked. But he
put it on a line. Great catch by Marvin Men's.
(35:34):
And then that throw to Courtland Suton for the touchdown
before half was was money.
Speaker 6 (35:39):
That was.
Speaker 16 (35:40):
That was a incredible pass, incredible catch by Courtland. And
then I got to give a shout out. You've already
mentioned it, but Riley Moss got to give a shout
out to him because I'm an Iowah Hawk guy nice
so got to give the shout out to uh to
Riley Moss. It's the toughest job in the in in
on that defense to play opposite the passers hand because
you're gonna get picked on. But he other than the
(36:00):
past interference and a couple of early early plays, he
stepped it up. The bad is Franklin's got to make
some plays there. He's gotta He's got to catch the ball.
He had two two critical drops and the and the
the long pass he had he saw him pull his
head and turn because he thought he was going to
take a shot and he didn't. So he's got to
make that play. He's gonna if he's gonna be a
reliable NFL receiver. And then the ugly is whether it's
(36:26):
wrong with the Bengals. What has happened to that team?
I know Burrows is out, but that defense is a
five and that's disappointing because they've been a force in
the AFC for the past few years.
Speaker 6 (36:35):
But they are.
Speaker 16 (36:35):
They're a mess right now. And I don't even think
getting bros Backs fixes that team. So that's all I got.
Thanks for having me on.
Speaker 2 (36:42):
Great stuff Marty. I appreciate it, and yeah, I mean
try frankly with the drop was totally tough. He's gotta
he's gotta find ways to be better. He's been by
and large better this season and and he's he's got
some big passes so far. That was a tough drop,
no doubt about it, and against better teams, maybe that's
(37:02):
something that comes back to haunt you. It didn't matter today,
and you're right, the Bengals are in kind of a mess.
They're spiraling very fast. They're two and two, but it's
a pretty ugly two and two if you think about
those last two games.
Speaker 3 (37:14):
The vibes for the Bengals are about it. Probably about
as bad as it gets. So but you know what
you're supposed to do. That's what you're supposed to do.
Speaker 2 (37:22):
When you think you're a better team and you want
to show, especially in in front of your home fans
in a primetime game, that you're the better team, you
go out there and you make this an undeniable win.
And they did that tonight. Whatever people want to say
about I guess smaller things that they want to complain
about Mario and Luke Wattenberg.
Speaker 3 (37:40):
I'm just kidding, but it's an undeniable win in primetime
in front of your home fan base. That matters.
Speaker 2 (37:48):
It matters a lot. So that, for me is what
you're supposed to do to teams that you are playing
better at and you think you're better than. Sometimes people
will say this is a must win game, and I
remember having that converse on k Sports with Dave this week,
and I felt I tend to push back on that
in general because it's not mathematically it must win, but
you think about what it means to the team and
(38:10):
the fan base. It kind of was right, not mathematically,
but just what it meant for the vibe of the team.
You you lost a couple of heartbreakers over the last
couple of weeks.
Speaker 3 (38:22):
You need to turn and turn around the.
Speaker 2 (38:24):
Mojo, if you will, right the mentality, and you needed
to make it undeniable. Like I said, you had to
put yourself in a position where it didn't come down
to a fourth quarter play that you started to think, oh,
here we go again for the fan base or otherwise,
And you did that tonight.
Speaker 3 (38:40):
Pretty cool stuff.
Speaker 2 (38:41):
Broncos Football is presented by Ramos Law, official injury law
