Speaker 1 (00:00):
And bringing on quarterback Riley Mosh.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
Riley, you're on with Dave Logan and Ryan Ebert. How
are you. I'm good. How we're doing. We're doing good, Riley,
appreciate the time. So you go from the Bengals pair
to the Eagles, I mean a little bit different stylistically,
but talk a little bit about the matchup with AJ
Brown and DeVante Smith and maybe how they differ in
terms of what they present as problems to to you
(00:25):
and and all sort of.
Speaker 3 (00:26):
Pat Yeah, you know, it's it'll be a good test
for us obviously, you know, coming from what we had
last week to.
Speaker 4 (00:34):
To this week with these guys.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
Biggest thing, you know, Aj top of the route. You
know you're gonna get the push offs and stuff. You
gotta be strong. And then you know the other guy,
you gotta you gotta be able to run a little bit.
He's gonna take the top off. He's he's a little.
Speaker 4 (00:48):
Bit more consistent, I would say with his routes.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
And Aj is so just being good with your eyes
and stuff. You know, really it runs through their offense,
runs through the back. But at the same time, you
know you've got to be ready for you know, the
block up two man routes with those guys too.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
So you guys had a pretty tough test this last
week with the two ride receivers you saw, and I
know that ultimately they're not have they didn't have Joe
Burrow out there, so that is part of the equation.
But you face off against t Higgins last year late
in the season, that was quite the battle. When you
came into this matchup. What did you learn from your
first one that you were able to take into the
(01:26):
one you had just on Sunday.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
Yeah, you know, being stronger, being consistent and finishing. You know,
I was proud of myself of you know, being sticky
this week or last.
Speaker 4 (01:37):
Week, I should say, you know, and.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
Making them make a play on me, you know what I
mean so early, you know, he caught that fadeball on me.
But you know, just kept kept playing and then kept
sticky and and you know, we we had a good
plan and and uh, you know it worked out. So
the biggest thing, I think the biggest takeaway was just
being able to be consistent and you know, finished the plays.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
We're talking about Broncos quarterback Riley Riley Moss and when
you talk about again those two Philadelphia receivers, and obviously
this is a team that loves to run the ball.
Then he said, when they when they decide to block
it up and go with the two man route, it
requires you guys to play in coverage longer. But I
want to get back to a J. Brown. He's kind
of a to me at least, he's kind of a
(02:23):
unique wide receiver. He doesn't really look like a wide receiver.
He looks more like a small tied end. But he
in terms of physicality and some of the guys that
you have you have gone against when you see AJ Brown,
is that maybe the most sort of impressive thing about
him as a wide receiver.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Oh yeah, you know obviously, you know when you're two
twenty five and you can run like that and get
breaks like that, you know, it poses poses a threat,
you know, and it's it's important I think, to you know,
wear the line and squeezing the sideline when you're getting those.
Speaker 4 (02:57):
Nine balls and stuff. So you know, the biggest thing I.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
Think is is matching his physicality, especially at the.
Speaker 4 (03:03):
Top of the route.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
It was I forget who said it after the game,
but they were talking about how much you really like
and roles revel in that teams are going to target
you and then they're gonna come after you every single game.
I mean, I guess there's a bit of a mindset
of the cornerback, right, you know that there's gonna be, Hey,
you're gonna get a couple of wins against me, but
over the longevity of our game, you feel like that
you belong and that you're going to get those wins.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
The mentality that where does that come from?
Speaker 4 (03:28):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (03:29):
You know, I think it's just how I was raised
and how I came up. You know, I've always had
that competitive spirit and and that you know, never back
down spirit, and I think, you know, it's kind of
carried me throughout my entire career.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
And and you know it's what it's why I'm.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
So good at what I do, you know, being able
to forget something, you know, negative that happens and continue
to do my job and I get phased with, you know,
some negative stuff that might happen. So I think, uh,
I think just being gritty and and you know, just
playing ball. And how been a short memory.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
Last couple here for you, So kind of a quarter
pole question here for you. With the defense, how.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
Do you guys.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Feel like you've sort of responded over the last two
weeks to the win against Cincinnati, and where you're at
in the season defensively, Yeah, I like.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
Where we're at. You know, we're we're we're approaching practice well,
you know, we're trying to pick something up every day, right,
so just getting one percent better every day, and you know,
throughout the course of.
Speaker 4 (04:26):
The season, you know, you got to you got to
be able to.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
Get better each week. And you know, coming off a
Monday night game, you know, we have a shorter week,
and so you've got to be a little bit, you know,
a little bit more dialed in and what you're doing
and what you're trying to accomplish. So I like where
we're at, and you know, we got the guys. You know,
like a lot of guys have said, like, we have
the guys in the room to do it.
Speaker 4 (04:45):
And on the defensive.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
Side, you know a lot of guys who are just
gritty and go out and do their job and are
laser focused.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
Riley, last question for me. You've got the same defensive
coordinator from last year in Advanced Joe, so Finn just
maybe a thing or two that that's different to you
about this year's edition of the Broncos defense after after
four games has compared to maybe some of the play
from last year.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
Yeah, you know, I think the biggest thing for us,
you know, and I'll speak for the back end, is
our communication.
Speaker 4 (05:15):
Has been a lot better since last year. You know.
I think a lot of guys trust each other. You know. Obviously,
you know we've had we had vj last year, we
have them.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
This year. We've really dialed into things that we need
to dial in that we were, you know, messing up
maybe last year. We've perfected and continue to perfect some
of the things we still need to work on. But
I think it's a big trust factor and just the
guys that we have and we all trust each other,
and it makes us play that much faster.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
Very quickly.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
Before I let you go, Susie Ward and our sideline
reporter for the Broncos broadcast, interviewed you about your coffee choice,
and I just wanted to tell you a tip of
the caps are Pumpkins spice Latte is a fantastic choice,
and I fully, I fully support that.
Speaker 4 (06:00):
Yeah, I appreciate it.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
I'm not even gonna I'm not even gonna jump in
and save this. Riley, Listen, we appreciate the time. Man.
We'll look forward to calling the game in Philly. Yeah,
thank you, guys, I appreciate it.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
That is a Riley voss.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
It's terrible. Oh, it's fantastic. And it was unprophet that
you're gonna ask him if he weren't flannel today?
Speaker 1 (06:17):
Well, I almost said, but I know he's coming off
the practice field, so that would be a no. But
I could also follow that up with like, in your
free time.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
Do you wear flannel? Is that?
Speaker 3 (06:27):
How?
Speaker 2 (06:28):
How would you end the sentence in your free time?
Speaker 1 (06:30):
I would say I would say what kind of but
it would sound kind of creepy.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
If I'm like, what kind of clothes do you wear?
It wouldn't sound kind of creepy, it would sound totally creepy,
like like totally creepy. Last time Riley ever came on the.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
Show, it was like, hey, man, you right out on
the Saturday, would you have got nothing to do?
Speaker 2 (06:50):
What do you like to wear? Summer fall?
Speaker 1 (06:52):
It doesn't matter what do wear? Gosh right, we'll come
back and react to that coming up next
