Speaker 1 (00:00):
Big game coming up here against the Eagles. How are
you guys feeling about this one?
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Yeah, it's definitely a measuring stick game. I mean, honestly,
every week you're trying to accomplish something different. Obviously, ultimately
it's always a win. But yeah, we talk about you know,
we want to you want to be able to play
in bigger games. You want to be able to play,
you know, late in the playoffs, super whatever the case is. Well,
you can't do that if you don't beat teams like this,
(00:24):
because this is one of those teams that will be
when the last ones standing at the end of the season.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
So uh yeah, it's definitely important to us.
Speaker 4 (00:30):
What are some things you've noticed about Vic Fangio's defense
in that Eagles front and then not only for you
blocking but also as a receiver.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Yeah, I would say it's super disciplined defense. It's kind
of a lot not schematically, but it's a lot like
the Chargers in that they're going to funnel the ball
to certain areas and they they know how to playoff
of each other and like I said, super discipline, they're
always in the right spot, and uh they also play
extremely hard. So uh yeah, I mean it's gonna be
(00:58):
Uh it's a big check challenge. Obviously there's Super bathlet
like in the back end as well, and an out linebacker,
and then defensively they have.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
Some really good guys, So yeah, it'll be a challenge.
Speaker 4 (01:08):
Maybe reason they won the Super Bowl, right, Yeah, I
would say, so, you've really developed a nice chemistry here
with bone Nicks. I mean I know that you guys
spend the off season and training came out of that.
But you had a couple of moments in that last
game where he's breaking out on some of those bootlegs
and you're coming up and sort of mirroring him. That
is that timing that came from those offseason reps or
is that part of the scheme?
Speaker 1 (01:27):
How do you how do you equate that?
Speaker 2 (01:29):
I mean, it helps, but it's definitely just part of
the scheme more so, I would say, uh but yeah,
I mean, guy like me, you know, you're mainly a blocker,
and so when you get these opportunities, you kind of
take advantage of them. And I know Boat trust me,
so uh yeah, so that's all I can do is
take advantage of her up to me that comes my way.
Speaker 4 (01:48):
You guys had some real success running the game at
the ball. I mean, actually all seasons you're fifth in
the league Russian. I mean, I imagine you guys would I'm
pretty excited about that coming into the season. But this
game specifically had a hundred yard rusher and especially the
second half, you really wore down the Cincinnati Bengals.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Is that some stuff you can build off of.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
Yeah, and I think that's kind of where you start
to try to build your identity, and where we want
our identity to be built around is definitely run game
because it makes everything else so much easier, and we
are built to do that at every single position. So yeah,
it's great to have that success and hopefully we will
continue it. And the best thing is to watch those
(02:26):
games and you watch the receivers sticking their heads in
there blocking and it's important to them. And if you
look at the really good some of the really good
run teams in the past, how many years the Rams
receivers always block really well, Niners receivers always block really well.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
Detroit's receivers block really well.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
So that's like a huge thing that people just don't
notice because like nobody outside of us, you know, outside
of our building really cares about receivers blocking, but we do,
and it's a huge, huge part of our game, and
that's why some of these runs are getting sprung past
seven eight yards and they're becoming explosive just because of them.
Speaker 1 (03:01):
Thank out. I appreciate it.
