Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Chargers are second in goal at the one yard line,
trailing twenty to ten. The Bengals have the ball, but
they are trailing by eighteen, so it's a long ways
to go the Titans to score a touchdown, though, so
they're still within shouting distance. Here are the Cardinals at
twenty one to twelve. So we had another example of
a player going the length of a field or going
(00:21):
in for a touchdown and dropping the ball at the
goal line. So Amario de Mercado, the backup running back
there for Arizona. I think he went like seventy some
yards and then he had dropped the ball as he's
going in and ended up being a touchback. So the
Titans get bailed out by that should have been up
twenty eight to nothing or sorry, twenty eight six at
(00:43):
that point, but ended up dropping the ball. Last week
it was the Indianapolis Colts eighty Mitchell did that. I
can't believe that we're in twenty twenty five and guys
are still dropping the ball as they go in for
a potential touchdown. Five six, six nine zeros are kawakammas
spirit health text line.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
I appreciate the sport guys. I see all the.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
Text coming in here, all these who talking about Moss
not being worthy of a cornerback two is crazy. I
bet none of them could catch a pass against Moss,
and I bet they couldn't defend any wide receiver five
in the league.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
Yeah, I mean, I think that's a little bit of
my issue with the take.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
It's not so much that we can't discuss or debate
what the correct path forward is. And even the people
that said, hey, I'd like to see more Jeae Baron,
I don't think there's a problem with that.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
I don't think there's a problem.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
With saying that I'd like to see if he would
be better out there on the outside opposite patch certain
instead of Riley Moss. If they feel like Riley Moss's
confidence is shaken a bit, or maybe he is still
recovering from that MCL and he's lost a bit of
a step because of that, I mean, Litten, we we
have those discussions or debates, I don't. We had a
(01:50):
caller earlier saying that he's lost a step in general,
and I don't know about that. I feel like Riley
Moss overall has had a pretty good start to the season.
But that being said, you're gonna ge targeted a lot
on the opposite side of passer Tan and that's just
sort of a fact. So the arrogant text that came
in earlier was saying that he is not one of
sixty four and he shouldn't even playing in the NFL.
(02:13):
That is just nonsense. It's obnoxious nonsense. So that's my
pushback on that. And then we had the caller Tony,
who really just embarrassed himself. And you know, I don't
know what else to say about that.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
This one win Yogi Cry, Eagles cry.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Nice Tony is so complimentary on BONICKX and Sean Payton
for that caller say what he says defies logic. But
I went on to say that sometimes that people find
a way to not be illogical these days. Yeah, it
is one thing to say I believe in Sean Payton
and what the Broncos are doing, and believe in Vince
(02:52):
Joseph and what the Broncos defense is doing, and then
to simultaneously say, but they have no idea what they're
doing with Briley Moss. That doesn't track with me either.
All right, appreciate you guys, really good cut text coming
in on the Kay Conspirit Hill text line. And again
we still have some fifty dollars gift cards to give
away the Sam's Number three Diner and Bar, presenting sponsor
of Denver Dave Defense three and outs. Broncos React gives
(03:16):
away three of these. So we'red'son a lot of clock,
so we have plenty of time to still do this.
But you guys, we gotta get some local callers here.
I mean, I appreciate everybody for calling in from all
over the world, all over the country, and I'm going
to continue to take those calls all the way till
a ninnt o'clock tonight. But we definitely gonna we'll get
some some local calls to give away these these gift cards.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
I want to do that.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
We go next to Doug in Colorado Springs. Though you're
up next year on Broncos React with Ryan Evers.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
What's up, Doug?
Speaker 4 (03:43):
Hi?
Speaker 5 (03:43):
Ryan, I enjoy your program.
Speaker 6 (03:46):
I think in terms of defensive back play for me,
and I've been watching football. I'm sixty five. I've been
watching football since I was seven years old. It's the
hardest area of the field for me to tell whether
somebody is doing what they're supposed to be doing or not.
It's you know, it's complicated, and you know the ball
(04:09):
a lot of times isn't back there. And you can't
even see those guys anyway unless you're watching a replay.
I agree with what you said about Riley Mons is
going to get targeted so much more than certain is.
And then you know, I don't know, he plays a
position where sooner or later you're going to get sooner
(04:31):
or later you're gonna look bad. It's at that position somebody's.
Speaker 5 (04:35):
Gonna beet you. And and that's just you.
Speaker 6 (04:38):
Know, hopefully it doesn't happen very often.
Speaker 5 (04:40):
And the other thing is that if your.
Speaker 6 (04:41):
Defense only gives up seventeen points, you should have a
really good chance of winning that football game. So the
fact that the Bronco defense only gave up seventeen today,
that's a that's a great performance. And the other thing
I wanted to say is that And I didn't get
to see the game. He missed the fourth quarter unfortunately
(05:02):
because I had to visit a sick friend. But the
listening to Dave called the game, Dobbins just sounds it's
entertaining to listen to how his runs go, and I'm
glad they're feeding him the ball. They I hope they
(05:22):
can figure out how to give him the ball, you know,
fifteen eighteen times a game, and so what if it's
not working early, you know, if you can keep the
score close enough, you've got to stick with it because
how many times do we see it happen? It works
in the third and fourth quarter, and so it's great.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
To have him.
Speaker 6 (05:42):
And I don't know about his body type, you would,
but he listening to his runs, he kind of reminds
me of James he plays.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
For Buffalo, James, James Cook.
Speaker 5 (05:55):
James Cook.
Speaker 6 (05:56):
He's the same kind of thing. You look at him
and he looks slow, but he makes decisive cuts and
he gains yardage. And it sounds like that's what Dobbins
is doing. So I just I couldn't believe the final
score when I saw it because I had been out
of touch with the game. I missed the fourth quarter.
And hopefully if you could, I'm sure you've done this,
(06:20):
but if she'd give a really quick summary of what
you think of how Nick's played today, and I'll hang
up and listen. Thank you.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Yeah, I appreciate that, Doug.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
I thought, and by the way, Sam Darnold just throw
an interception, and now the Buccaneers with fifty three seconds
left are set up at the Seattle thirty six in
a tie thirty five all games. So they're in field
goal range right there, at field goal range with an
opportunity to win this thing on the road in Seattle.
It's a big, big deal. So I thought he closed
very strong. I'd say the first half was not the
(06:51):
sharpest for boon Nicks. He once again missed a deep
pass to Trent Sherfield that.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
Was there, that was open.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
He missed a deep, deeper pass to Marvin Mims. Maybe
Mims short armed it a little bit, I don't know,
but he missed it. I thought that there were still
some moments in the first half that you want back
if your bon Nicks I mean, twenty four to thirty
nine is It's not the greatest completion rate, but it's okay.
It should have been probably better. But I think he
closed very strong. I think he made some very very
(07:23):
good decisions in the fourth quarter, targeting Courtland Sutton, and
he was throwing things on a line when he was
targeting sudden, targeting Evan Ingram. There was some great decision
making moments from bon Nicks there in the fourth quarter,
So overall, I think we look at that and we
say it's another kind of growth moment. But the first half,
especially early on, I thought there were some plays left
(07:43):
out on the field. But he'd probably agree with that.
I think the Broncos will probably agree with that. But
you find a way to just get better each week,
and you did enough and especially you closed strong enough
in the fourth quarter that we tend to look at that,
and then that's our lasting feeling on how Bonus played.
Back to the phones, we go to Gary, you're up
next to on Broncos react, what's up?
Speaker 7 (08:04):
Gary?
Speaker 5 (08:06):
Hey, Ryan, I appreciate your show.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
Yes, sir, thank you.
Speaker 5 (08:10):
So I get two points on some of these. I'm
I'm gonna go to previous calls. Some of these guys
talking about Moss, give me a break. Who's the plane
opposite of Is it their tam m hm?
Speaker 2 (08:33):
Yes, correct.
Speaker 5 (08:33):
So he's an all he's an all pro, so he's
always going to be targeted. So you know what, you
can't be perfect, so stop it. He's doing the best
of these can he can?
Speaker 1 (08:51):
Yeah, And we we had a call earlier very quickly here.
I'm not gonna let you go. We had a call
earlier that I think something that up perfectly. It's a
position that you're going to get beat. It it's gonna happen.
It's it's an accepted part of playing cornerback in the league.
You're going to get beat. And it just so happens
that at some of those are our high profile moments.
And yeah, you know again, I think from a technique standpoint,
(09:12):
I would I would be interested to.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
Know how they're coaching him to play it.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
Right, we sit here and we watch only the we
watched the outcome, which is a catch or whatever ends
up happening.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
I mean, sometimes he does get a pass breakup. He did.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
He did have a couple of pass breakups earlier in
the year that were clutched. But you know, sometimes it
is a catch, and it's like, Okay, what what are
they coaching him to do in those moments? And and
so you don't want to see it. Nobody wants to
see it. But these guys get paid too, so for
what it's worth.
Speaker 5 (09:42):
Yeah, and then my second point, and here's where I
disagree on the indie game and the charges game. I
think those were of learning moments for the Broncos, So
I wouldn't this win for those two I think that
(10:04):
they learned something from those two losses.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
I think so too, Gary. I've inclined to agree with
you on that. Hey Gary, you live local here? Yeah,
all right, cool, I'm gonna put you on hold. I
want to give you a fifty dollars gift card to
Sam's Number three Diner in Bar for your call.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
I do appreciate that. So yeah, I think that.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
You know, you wouldn't trade. I think that that's a
you know, always an interesting discussion. We were talking about
that a little bit earlier. I think more than anything,
you just say, okay, what it means to the team
to win this game and how that might propel them
or represent for the rest of the season. A win
against Indianapolis or the Chargers early on, maybe that doesn't
quite have the same resounding momentum that beating the Eagles could.
(10:52):
And I think that's where that discussion kind of stemmed
from earlier in the show. And by the way, the
comeback did happen. The Buccaneers did find a way to
kick that field goal and win thirty eight to thirty five.
A backbreaking loss for Seattle, who played a great game,
but it was not enough as a late interception from
(11:12):
Sam Darnold oh Man, Washington got turnover at the goal
line against the Chargers who are driving in and they
now have gotten this thing out to the fifty yard line.
So they're continuing to put together an impressive game. So
the Broncos might be in really really good situation, really
good moments here because they've not only got to win today,
but the Raiders and possibly the Chargers might lose, which
(11:35):
will only continue to help their opportunity. And of course
they'll be three and two just like the Chargers if
they do lose this game. We go back to the
actually got well, we'll go back to the phones and
then we'll get a check of legal here in a second.
But the next caller is Brett in South Dakota. What's up, Brett?
Speaker 5 (11:52):
Hey, what's up man? How you doing?
Speaker 2 (11:53):
I'm doing great? Thanks for holding on.
Speaker 7 (11:55):
Hey, no worries.
Speaker 8 (11:56):
I appreciate you taking the call. I appreciate your show,
appreciate all the talk on this and because it's that's
something there, I mean a couple of things just bugging
me on this, like for one man Broncos country. We
just got to remember it's not it was just a
few years ago. Like I don't know about you, but
I was cheering for a first down, you know what
I mean. Let alone getting some points on the board,
Like just to get a first down was enough to
get excited about for some of the teams that Broncos
(12:19):
were putting out there to watch, you know. So I'm
just so I'm excited for this team and what they're
showing as far as the coaching staff is doing, and
then as far as the player's coming together and working
on this man. And then the other thing I just
want to say too, is like, man, Riley Moss is
out there, he's doing his job. Man, he's doing actually
really good work. You know, he gets burned every once
in a while or whatever, and it's like everybody wants
(12:39):
to point out and stuff. But if it was such
an issue and they would have been targeting him in
a real serious way, we'd have been looking at, you know,
him getting beat over and over and over and over again,
you know, I mean, and it would be a totally
different story than what it was now. Because when you
watch even how long like Hurts was sitting back. That's
trying to find somebody open. That's all coverage, man, that's
(13:00):
all covered. There's a lot of the sacks and a
lot of the hurries that were happening today, a great
coverage sacks, you know. And he had nobody open, and
that means that Riley was doing his job, just like
to can and just like you know, anybody I was
out there, the secondary out there was doing the work.
So I don't know, man, I think you got to
throw that whole thing out the door of Riley moss
Is as a great a player just he you know,
I'm the best in the league, and I'm grateful he's
(13:23):
on this team. So yeah, I'll stand by twenty one
all day.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
I dig that, Brett, I think, and I think it's
a really great point.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
The reason why you could have the productivity you have
in the sacks, as well as leading the league in
that category is because of what the secondary is doing.
And if it was such an issue for the Broncos defense,
teams would be exploding it even.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
More so than they already are.
Speaker 1 (13:47):
So that's a really good point you bring up there, Brett,
and I appreciate the call back to the phones. We
go and Mike Littleton is up next year on Broncos react,
what's on Mike?
Speaker 9 (13:56):
Hear anything?
Speaker 2 (13:57):
Nicole, Yes, sir, thank you.
Speaker 9 (13:59):
I just want to say I think this was a
great win. I think it was a feel good win
after years of the Broncos not performing, to see them
go and beat the defending champs, and I think that
was a great win.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
I mean, I completely agree, and I think that to
find a way considering how things had gone in the
first half and even giving up that touchdown to Saquon Barkley,
there's something to be said about a team that doesn't
blink in those moments, you know, like to say, okay,
well we just gave up that long touchdown, certainly a
busted coverage moment, and then say we're down seventeen to
(14:34):
three on the road, but the game isn't over.
Speaker 2 (14:36):
There are some teams that fold in the Broncos or
not one of them.
Speaker 9 (14:39):
I got three things to you, Yep. First of all,
I don't understand the hate on Randy muss I think
he's a great player. I think he has to figure
out the system a little bit more. But to say, yes,
he's gonna get burned if he's playing on the opposite
side of certain But to say that he doesn't belong
to play in professional football, I think is a little
(14:59):
bit unfair.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
Well, I thought so too, and I appreciate that take, Mike.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
I thought that was a little bit out of bounds
from the texture earlier and that I mean, maybe I
was a little bit harsh on them, but just to say, like, no,
this guy doesn't even belong in the NFL. He's not
one of the top cornerbacks in the league, I mean
top two cornerbacks.
Speaker 2 (15:20):
I mean, he just is. And so I don't I don't,
but maybe I was a little bit harsh.
Speaker 9 (15:24):
Yeah. Also, the balance between Dobbins and Harvey was.
Speaker 10 (15:32):
This game.
Speaker 9 (15:32):
I think last game was a healthy balance, better balance.
Like this game, they went a little bit too heavy
on Dobbins that they didn't really use Harvey as much.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
Yeah, they did go heavier on Dobbins, and there's a
been a lot of people calling for that and maybe
that was in part because of the way and maybe
it'll change up a little bit based on the way
they can attack teams.
Speaker 2 (15:53):
But I thought today they just Dobbins.
Speaker 1 (15:55):
Was kind of a hot hand and he has such
great vision that they they just really trusted him late
in the game. I think that ultimately a lot of
Broncos fans and probably support that unless you had RJ.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
Harvin your fantasy team.
Speaker 9 (16:09):
Also, I was really happy to see Evan Ingram got
involved a little bit more. Maybe not to the level
that we would like, but I say he got the touchdown.
He was really involved a little bit more so, less
of Trout. Maybe I was happy to see Ingram involved
a little bit more.
Speaker 1 (16:26):
Yeah, I like that a lot too. Thank you for
the call, myke appreciate it. Let's pause ten seconds for
station identification. You're listening to the KWA Broncos radio network.
It's third and fifteen, and that eventually would lead to
the touchdown. I believe that was the Evan Ingram touchdown
that you got there, but Cortland Sutton just came up
clutch over and over again.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
Yeah, that was a that was a big moment.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
Eight seventeen left in the game is third and fifteen
at the Philadelphia forty five. You complete that pass and
the very next play was the Evan Ingram touchdown, and
that was a strike from bow Nick's great route from
Corland Sudden, really really high level stuff.
Speaker 2 (17:04):
Welcome back to Broncos React on Ryan Edwards.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
We are alive from the smash Burger sports desk with
the new four ninety nine menu featuring the single All
American Burger, single De Luxe Burger, and the new American
A Big Dog. Today's game is brought to you by
Coloradin's for Responsible Energy Development, developing Colorado's energy learn more
at cred dot org. Get is creed dot org run
un till nine o'clock tonight, So we're going to keep
rolling with you. Benjamin Albright's going to be along here
(17:27):
and a little bit we'll get his thoughts on the game.
We're at the two minute warning with Washington leading twenty
to ten. They're facing a third and five, so kind
of a critical moment here. The Titans are nearing midfield
only trailing by two. Titans have yet to win a
game so far. The Cardinals had every reason to put
this thing away, had multiple opportunities to put this thing away,
(17:48):
and we're not able to including a fumble at the
goal line. By the way, t Higgins just scored a
two yard touchdown pass from Jake Brownings. The Bengals are
not done just yet. They're trailing thirty five, twenty four
with three oh one remaining in that game, probably gonna lose,
but not officially done. Appreciate their fight. We'll get back
to the phones here in just a second. A couple
(18:08):
of texts here, Ryan, This is Andy from Kansas. Quick
text about a recent feel good, possible lost game that
Denver won the Tampa Bay Game last year. That was
a game that made me believe the group of men
are going to win a lot of ball games, a
lot of big games. This team is definitely on the rise.
I heard someone say super Bowl. I like that on
a T shirt. Oh super Bowl, there we go, I
(18:31):
like that on a T shirt after this possible great season.
Thank you for the victory Monday, brother, appreciate you. Moss
shut down t Higgins last week. No one wants to
talk about that. I mean it was a combination of things.
I mean t Higgins had got a couple on him early,
but I say Jake Browning's overall play, but then seeing
Jake Browning go out there and take it to this
Lion's defense. It's been one of the better defenses in
(18:52):
the league. That is pretty impressive. Here, somebody asked who
had the better stats let's see here who had the
better stats defensive were in Denver's corners or Philadelphia's corners?
Probably Denver's corners. I think, you know, in the end,
I mean, we'll see. I guess you could. You could
sort of debate that a little bit. I mean, Jalen
Hurts pass for more yards, but forty seven of Jalen
(19:17):
Hurt's passing yards went to Saquon Barkley, and that was
more of a linebacker as Alex Singleton covering him.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
Oh my gosh. The Titans are down to the Arizona
four yard.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
Line with nineteen seconds remaining, so they are in position
to kick a chip shot field goal on the road
to get their first win.
Speaker 2 (19:35):
Of the season. That would be remarkable.
Speaker 1 (19:38):
All Right, we go back to the phones H three
H three seven three eighty five eighty five. And Andrew san
Diego is up next here on the show. Andrew, thanks
for hanging on.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
How are you.
Speaker 3 (19:49):
Hey, Ryan?
Speaker 10 (19:49):
Always a pleasure to talk to you on this glorious
Sunday afternoon not evening. Uh well, I guess here in
San Diego's afternoon. Yeah, you know, I holing in not
only to talk about punkin Spice, aatte But the other conversation, obviously,
is the hot topic about Riley Moss, which I told
you last week. I was gonna call in Yep and
(20:10):
revisit this, and we're gonna have a nice little debate
here because I we're gonna agree on a pumpkin spice
at tepe, but we're gonna disagree on Riley Moss.
Speaker 5 (20:18):
The reason I.
Speaker 10 (20:18):
Say that you might have to watch that game again
because there was four plays by Riley Moss that were
almost well, I'll say there's four plays that really helped
Riley Moss. Well, no, I'm sorry, I say. I'll say
one or two.
Speaker 5 (20:33):
I'm sorry too.
Speaker 10 (20:35):
Yes, the illegal shift was called back because the rally
Moss got burnt. Also, the other one was the holding call,
he also got burnt.
Speaker 1 (20:45):
I'm not gonna get rid of you, I think, and I'm
not I'm not trying to intentionally be argumentative on on
the term here. But burnt is if you give up
a catch when you're in coverage, does that really is
that really burnt?
Speaker 3 (21:00):
Like?
Speaker 1 (21:00):
For me, burnt is like you were nowhere near the
play and and and the receiver burns you off the line,
and then they ended up taking it for a long catch.
I mean being burnt when you're in phase and the
receiver just makes a play on the ball. Listen, man,
I mean they're gonna they're gonna come down with some.
You're gonna come down with some. I mean that's just
kind of what it is. I don't know if that's burnt.
Speaker 10 (21:20):
Well, I'll leave that up to ros Smith. The you know,
the NFL VET. What the difference between burning a cornerback
and I don't know. I mean, I'm to me, when
I see a five yard gap between him and DeVante
Smith or a J. Brown, I'm like, I'm thinking that's
a pretty good separation. I mean again, like I don't
I'm not. I'm not proclaiming I'm an NFL guru, but
I'm just saying to my eyes as a as a viewer,
(21:42):
you know, when you get five yards on somebody. Because
there was the fourth, the third one, I was gonna say,
you know, Jalen Hurts overthrew DeVante Smith and you can see,
righty Moss eyes just like get big because you know
you got well. I want to say burn because I
don't want to be wrong, but he was. He was
definitely if he that he was going to go for six.
So you know, those are the things that really, you know,
(22:07):
stand out to me because it's like those are kind
of like realistically, those cacters and those penalties are not
not called or made. You're talking about almost a two
hundred and fifty yard game from Devonte Smith and are
we talking a different kind of case with Riley Moss.
And you know, maybe the way that Champagne's rotating these
offensive players, maybe we need to rotate Riley Moss because
(22:29):
I don't know if you remember last year. I think
when he missed some games, Chris Abram drains and a
lot of people are forgetting him. I think he's a
solid cornerback. When he filled in last year for him,
he did a really good job and I like to
see a little more of him because I want to
see what we got out of him, and maybe he
can't help relieve Riley Moss of that second duty. Because yes,
I'm not going to go to extent of like saying
(22:50):
Riley Moss needs to be out of league, but definitely
he needs to like have lesser.
Speaker 5 (22:55):
I'm getting too much.
Speaker 10 (22:56):
I don't know if you remember the Raheem Moore played back,
you know, during Peyton Manning days when that ball went
over the head and there were inches away from going.
Speaker 2 (23:04):
To Super Bowl and fan I remember that.
Speaker 10 (23:07):
Everybody remembers that play, and that's kind of like, well,
I'm worried about Riley Moss. We if there's a big
moment and a big play and I don't want to
have that moment relived. It's kind of like, let's try
and figure out the solution as we go before we
get in those big game moments. Second thing, I'll get
off the Riley Moss. But that was kind of like
my case about that. The second thing is is like
(23:27):
I do not understand that bo Nicks hate.
Speaker 5 (23:29):
I really don't.
Speaker 10 (23:30):
I'm watching this game the Chargers and the Commanders, and
they proclaimed Jaden Daniels with leaps and bounds ahead of
bone Knicks, and I'm watching this game. He's throwing behind receivers,
he's throwing a little ahead of him, and it's like
bo Nicks is almost like throw for throw, like almost similar.
The only thing different is maybe the market's bigger for
Jayden Daniels, but bo Nicks is right there, neck and
neck for the growth of where elite quarterback should be playing.
(23:54):
And also Another thing is I guess maybe I'm I'm
not a Herbert fan, but I get tired of these people.
You know, Herbert's like these top three quarterbacks while the
last two games he hadn't been playing the league, especially
against the Giants who lost today, and he's about to
lose to the Commanders, and I'm like, I'm like, man,
I don't know if I don't I don't know if
I could put Herbert above bow knicks right now. And lastly,
(24:17):
I want to say this is that.
Speaker 5 (24:21):
Were you nervous.
Speaker 8 (24:22):
I'm gonna go back.
Speaker 10 (24:22):
To the last last drive leading up to the field
goal that you know got us pretty much the game stealer.
Were you nervous that Champaign might get a little tricky
down that stretch and maybe do a little couple passes
and said, you know, run the clock out?
Speaker 1 (24:36):
Yeah, a little bit, Andrew, And thank you kind of
all over the place today, my man. But I appreciate
the calls always, And yeah, I definitely worried a little bit.
Speaker 2 (24:43):
I think a lot of Broncos fans worried.
Speaker 1 (24:45):
I liked how he gave Bo Nix an option to
throw it there on third down, and then if he
didn't like it coming out of the two minute warning.
He just basically took knee or took a sack to
you know, just bring basically Ram to the line and
make sure that he cut the clock running. That was
high end coaching. That was high end decision making really
(25:05):
for both of them. But no, I mean maybe a
little bit worried there the Riley Moss thing. Again, I
don't want to get into a semantics disagreement with you
about what the definition of burned and just beaten. There's
a little bit of for me that there's different connotation.
Burned is you were nowhere in the vicinity to make
a play on the ball, and then beaten is what
(25:26):
is going to happen most of the time when you're
playing against elite receivers. It'll be fascinating to watch this
next week because it's gonna be Garrett Wilson is kind
of the number one guy, and there really isn't a
lot of receiving talent, not nearly the level of receiving
talent for the Jets. How they end up distributing the
cornerback reps. Is he going to have some reps against
(25:49):
Garrett Wilson probably and will that be an automatic for
Justin Fields to target him.
Speaker 2 (25:53):
Will Riley Moss have a chance to redeem himself in
the eyes.
Speaker 1 (25:56):
Of Broncoast fans because it seems like maybe he needs
a little to that. So it does look like the
Commander scored a late touchdown here, Jay Daniels, Deebo, Samuel
Commanders are gonna win this game twenty seven to ten.
So that's great news for the Broncos, great news for
the rest of the EFC West. Somebody asked if it's
a Charger three and two, if somehow the Chiefs do
(26:17):
win and their three and two in the Broncos with
three and two is going to be the lead. I
think the Chargers probably would be based on the head
to head, but we'll see how that ultimately shakes out. Paul,
You're up next year on Broncos React with Ryan Edwards.
Speaker 9 (26:30):
What's up, Paul, Yo, great to talk to you.
Speaker 4 (26:33):
I'm super excited about the game, and you know so
great that they know the Broncos just got punched in
the mouth by the world champion down seventeen to three,
and they just slowly methodically work their way back. Some
super cool coaching moments when they did that force down?
And who other was at a tight end? Who went
(26:54):
under center?
Speaker 2 (26:56):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (26:58):
I love that play.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
Yeah that that that got the off sides. Yeah, that
got the off sides. That was I think was Nate Adkins.
That was a great That was a great play call.
Speaker 4 (27:07):
Super smart play. And then let's see the other thing
was you know, if h Cordlin catches that ball in
the first quarter where he's on the sideline and I
don't know if the sun was in his eyes or what,
but he catches that ball, that could change the complexion
of the game. We could win by fourteen or more
if we, uh, if we kind of jump out a
(27:28):
little bit right there. And there was one other play
I can't remember what it was in the first half
that they kind of felt like that it could have
changed the complexion of the first half. Can't put my
finger on what that play was. But and it was
just curious what your thoughts are.
Speaker 1 (27:43):
Yeah, I appreciate it, Paul, Thanks for the call, man.
I was always appreciate that. And yeah, again, this is
a team win. We said if they were going to
beat the Eagles that you needed to find a way
in all three phases to impact the game and they did,
and there there were some high level plays, especially late
in the game on offense. You wanted to close this
game on offense, which is very impressive to me. And
then simultaneously with the with the defense. You know again
(28:08):
the first half, Yeah, there were there were a couple
of big Pete pass plays.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
On on the Broncos.
Speaker 1 (28:13):
And then you had that Saquon Barkley touchdown that was
in the third quarter, and then they didn't score a
single point in the fourth.
Speaker 2 (28:20):
That's remarkable.
Speaker 1 (28:21):
You're on the road in Philadelphia and Philadelphia shut out
in the fourth corner. I wonder if Friley Moss had
anything to do with that. I probably reach in there.
Three oh three seven one, three eighty five, eighty five,
five six, six nine zero. The Cincinnati Bengals are going
to fall to the Lions here, thirty seven to twenty
four is gonna be the final. There, the Cardinals fell
to the Titans. Holy cow, what a loss. De Mercardo
(28:44):
had the ball all the way into the end zone
and fumbled at the goal line for a touchback, and
the Cardinals ended up falling to two and three.
Speaker 2 (28:52):
Twenty two to twenty one was the final.
Speaker 1 (28:53):
We'll come back we'll get more of your calls, more
of your texts on the KAY Broncos Radio network. A
couple of moments late, I know Ben all Right was
going to talk about it coming up here in a
little bit when he joins the show at laughter six
o'clock and we're on till nine. So three h three
seven one three eighty five eighty five five six six
nine zeros or kwe common spirit heal text line U.
There were a couple of uh yeah, he has a
couple of miscalls late.
Speaker 2 (29:13):
Those things tend to happen.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
I think I'd much rather be talking about this game
being played out on the field as it ultimately was,
than if there was a late pass interference call that
ended up tilting the game. And we've certainly seen many
of those late penalties that ended up sinking the Broncos.
So wasn't called, didn't happen. We'll see what Ben says
(29:37):
coming up here in just a little bit. Bon Nicks
joined Voice of the Broncos Dave Logan after the game,
and that's presented by Dan Kaplis Law, a serious firm
for serious cases.
Speaker 3 (29:46):
Let's head back down talk with the quarterback of the
Denver Broncos bon Nicks Boe. It's Dave Logan. That's pretty interesting.
Fourth quarter. You guys showed a lot of I thought,
mental toughness and grit and made a whole bunch of
plays in the fourth quarter. What were a couple of
the keys in your mind to that happening. I don't know.
Speaker 11 (30:04):
We just started making, you know, spreading the ball around,
going some tempo, and guys just made plays. Cortland made
a couple of good, nice catches, and then everybody else.
I mean, I think the ball were.
Speaker 3 (30:16):
Sprayed around pretty good.
Speaker 11 (30:17):
Quite a few guys brought the ball in last couple
of drives and moved it so and we also ran
the ball well, we got in some hurry up and
we moved it down the field and we just got touchdowns.
Speaker 3 (30:27):
I'm not exactly sure what it was, but we did it.
You know what, you don't even have to be sure
the fact that you did do it, and that's that's
really what matters. You had three hundred and fifty eight
yards of total offense two twenty eight throwing it, one
point thirty running it, and as you and I have
talked about, it's important to have that kind of balance
you had it today against a really good defense.
Speaker 11 (30:47):
Yeah, it was, and it obviously happened late, but I
mean we had to get it done and our defense
just continued to make stops and we went down there
and scored touchdowns and got the two point version in
the momentum shifted.
Speaker 3 (31:00):
I'll get you out here on this because I know
you're dying to get on a plane and fly nine
hours to win a game like this when you've had
a couple of chances and the other team, however, they
found a way to win on the last play of
the game. To be on the field and your team
wins literally on the last play of the game. What
is that? Is it a confidence thing? Is it kind
(31:21):
of exhaling? What what's the feeling you get from a
game like this today? I don't know what it is.
Speaker 11 (31:26):
Maybe just the belief that we can win these close games.
We've haven't, you know, been great at close games. What
we got it done today against a really good football team.
Speaker 3 (31:34):
Yeah, and enjoy it. I'll talk to you later this week.
Speaker 4 (31:38):
Thank you very much.
Speaker 3 (31:40):
You bet that's bone Nicks in the locker room.
Speaker 1 (31:43):

Hey guys, bitchait all Bright here from Broncos Country tonight,
or we'll talk to you about life changer loans. A
life changer loan is a mortgage product that functions as
a flexible line of credit, combining your home financing with
a checking account. What that does is, unlike a traditional mortgage,
you can withdraw funds from your equity as needed for
daily expenses or other purchases, and this flexibility allows you
to constantly.
Speaker 2 (32:19):
Lose your own money.
Speaker 12 (32:21):
To lower the principle, how many of us have gotten
into a helock and then found out the bank is
charging us interest to borrow our own money in order
to pay bills or things that come up as needed
in life. So, guys, if you want a faster mortgage payoff,
significant interest savings, and maintaining your access to equity without
a bank being the middleman, go check out a life

My waist was four inches over what it should have been.

Speaker 2 (35:55):
More Broncos coverage Afternoon Set three with Dave Logan and
Ryan Edwards on ko WA Sports.
Speaker 3 (36:02):
Nix with a boot Now the mind's up and throws
the ball that is caught and that will be a
big gain as Troy Franklin with both hands above his
head and snatched the ball out of mid air all
the way to the Denver forty nine yard line. Keey
Ringo on the coverage, but that is a gain of
twenty for the Broncos first down as we will see
the clock expire in this the first quarter.
Speaker 1 (36:24):
It's great keats by Troy Franklin only had three for
thirty five in the game, but that twenty one yarder
kind of got things going there in the first quarter.
Courland Side in another unbelievable game eight catches for ninety
nine yards just when you needed a clutch moment between
Corland Sutton and JK. Dobbins, and I'll include having Ingram
he has some clutch moments today in the game. But
(36:47):
that's a nice sort of function of where the Broncos
are at right now, as you have guys that are.
Speaker 2 (36:53):
Coming up in clutch moments when you absolutely need to
have it.
Speaker 1 (36:56):
The Broncos rush for one hundred and thirty yards today overall,
so they came into the game fifth in the NFL,
averaging one hundred and forty three point three, So not
much of a falloff from that. And if they're going
to average around one hundred and thirty five hundred and
forty rushing comes per game, they're gonna win a lot
of games doing that, especially in the second half where
(37:17):
we've seen a lot of this happen. Benjamin ol Bright's
going to join you us coming up here at the
top of the hour. We're on until nine o'clock, Doctor Fred.
You're up next year on Broncos React with Ryan Edwards.
What's up, Doctor Fred?
Speaker 7 (37:28):
Hey, Ryan, good afternoon. Thanks for taking my call. Sure,
you know I talked with you a couple of weeks
ago and I had mentioned you. I said, Ryan, where's
the sense of urgency that this team had to have?
And as I'm watching this game today, I'm sitting there
on the edge of the seat, probably pulled half of
(37:48):
my hair out of my head. But boy, give this
team a lot of credit for not falling over and
just playing dead with a really good Eagles team, I
think we can all appreciate as fans it's extremely difficult
in this league to win on the road. You go
(38:10):
into an undefeated team, you go into their home field,
and you put up a performance like we did today.
You know, I've been hearing this term for the last
ten days or so. Now pretty much all the commentators
are calling this, you know, signature win. We needed a
win like this to really define who the team is
(38:33):
and where they're coming from. And we've been on that
end at the beginning of the year with those two
losses at the end of the game, and it's got
to feel really good for these guys to be on
the opposite end to know what it is to not
only win, but to win on the road against a
really highly pouted team with a really good defense, with
(38:55):
a really good quarterback. I don't think anybody's going to question,
you know, how good Jalen hurts us. He's a pretty
darn good quarterback. We have a pretty good quarterback. Molding
ourselves with bow Nicks and like to see the naysayers
who keep you know, knocking this kid. You know, he's
a second year quarterback. He has his moments just like
(39:18):
anybody else does, but he's making some pretty darn good decisions.
I want to get your thoughts on two things that
I will get off. The first one is, you know,
you get these very rare opportunities where you have these
wide open receivers on these real clutch plays where you
(39:39):
could really make a difference, and you know, we still
seem to be missing those connections that happened in the
first half. I saw that a couple of times. And
the other thing is what is going on with all
of these penalties, these procedure penalties. It's really out of
(39:59):
control on you know, Denver has you know, never notoriously
been one of the worst penalized teams in the league.
But you know, I'm curious because you know, coach Peyton
is always sying, you know, we got to get in there,
we got to look at the film, We've got to
clean this up. Well, come on, these are simple things.
This this is coming down to coaching. The procedure plays,
the the holding place that the defensive back ski getting
(40:22):
nailed with. I heard your caller earlier talking about Riley
Moss getting burned. I would disagree with with him very
very politely. I wouldn't say burned, but he's getting beat
pretty good and they need to tighten that up. And
you know, perhaps you've got to give this kid, who
(40:43):
we selected number one in the draft. You got to
get him some more reps and perhaps give Riley Moss
a chance to you know, get in on those nickel
and dime packages, give him a give him an opportunity
to kind of, you know, build up his confidence again,
because we're seeing this again today. He got I'm not
gonna say burned. I don't want to debate that with you.
(41:03):
I think he got beats about four or five times,
and again, those plays can come back to haunt you.
So I just would like to get your feedback on that,
and I will hang up, and I'm just interested to
hear what you've got to say.
Speaker 1 (41:16):
A doctor, Fred appreciate it. A couple things with Riley Moss.
I guess it would have to come down to if
the coaching staff feels like he's losing confidence. See if
that ends up being the case and I guess coupled
with some technique issues. If the Broncos defense, if like say,
Vance Joseph and Sean Payton are watching the tape of
(41:38):
Riley Moss and saying, boy, you just look like you're
struggling with your confidence out there, that's a.
Speaker 2 (41:42):
Reason to consider your options.
Speaker 1 (41:44):
If there's some technique issues or there's some kind of
nagging injury, those are some reasons why. But until then,
if he's still playing with a lot of confidence and
they believe in what he's doing in the process of
what they're coaching him to do, then no, you're not
going to move on from Riley Moss and you're not
going to take him off the field to give Jade
Baron some extra run. I think got jahday Baron's time
(42:06):
will come. I think Jadday Baron will continue to get
more opportunities as he proves to the coaching staff he
deserves more opportunities out there.
Speaker 2 (42:14):
But they won't force that, and I don't think they
should have to.
Speaker 1 (42:17):
The reason why you drafted him and you have the
depth that you have is is because that you were
able to do it this way, and you like having
all that depth, and you're like being able to bring
these guys along at a pace where they're comfortable, you're comfortable,
and you feel like you're all performing at a high level.
If you have to force the situation, then ultimately that's
probably going to end up biting you.
Speaker 2 (42:37):
And I'm not trying to be argumentative.
Speaker 1 (42:39):
I'm just saying that I think from their perspective, they
will look at those things first with Riley Moss before
they pull him off the field just to force the
first rounder back in there, which seems to be what
a lot of textures and callers keep calling calling in
on and you guys are a title to that opinion.
I just don't see how the Broncos feel that way,
and I don't think they feel that way based on
their actions. So that you talked about the signature win
(43:02):
stuff there with the team, Yeah, I mean, I guess
it kind of has to be, right. I mean, you
think about in the Sean Payton era so far, this
is definitely your biggest win that you've had. I don't know,
I mean, maybe maybe you were like you're a bigger
underdog to Tampa Bay last year on the road early
in the season, like that might have been more of
(43:22):
a touchdown more than a touchdown. So if you want
to go based on the spread, it may not be
as big of a win, but I think based on
optics and expectations, it's it's right up there. The Eagles,
even though they were a bit underperforming on the offensive
side of the ball, there's still a formidable team. And
they're a team that was undefeated for a reason. So
(43:44):
last year the Tampa Bay win was big because Tampa
Bay had just got on the road and beaten Detroit
in Detroit, and they looked like one of the best
teams in the NFC. And then you took a to
them really in all three phases. I mean, you dominated
that game. And then two years ago against Buffalo in Buffalo,
there were a lot of people not you to win
that game either. You found a way to win a
little bit fluky at the end because they had too
(44:04):
many players on defense. When you kicked, you missed a
field goal, and then you got a check a chance
at and you made the field goal. But hey, that
penalties bite the Broncos like they bite any other team.
The Broncos, of course, against the Colts had the leveraging
penalty that ended up gifting the Colts a second chance
at redemption.
Speaker 2 (44:22):
So yeah, I'd say that's in the conversation if nothing else.
Speaker 1 (44:25):
Very quickly, it's proof of concept, like winning this game
for that team. We'll see what they do with it
after the fact, but it's proof that we're on the
right track. And I think that that for the coaching staff.
That's what you get to sell in the locker room.
Hey guys, this is what you got. All this work
you've been putting in, all these extra hours, all the
film study, all the reps, in the difficult times in
(44:46):
training camp. It's leading to moments like this. That's what
you get to sell if you're Sean Payton to not
only this team now, but maybe even into free agency
and beyond this upcoming year. So that's what you're selling
in this moment as a signature win is Look, this
is what we can do. If we follow the plan,
and if we all go out there and we see
(45:07):
things the same way and.
Speaker 2 (45:08):
Execute the same way, we can win these kinds of games.
Speaker 1 (45:10):
We'll right back on the KWA Broncos Radio network, and
the Broncos would go on to win of course. Twenty
one seventeen today, welcome back to Broncos React on Ryan
Ever's Live from the smash Burger Sports Desk with a
new four ninety nine menu featuring the single All American Burger,
single Deluxe Burger, and the new Americana Big Dog. Today's
game is also presented by Children's Hospital Colorado, Official Children's
(45:33):
Hospital of the Denver Broncos.
Speaker 2 (45:36):
We are on till nine o'clock tonight. We had Sunday
Night football coming up.
Speaker 1 (45:39):
We'll hang out together watch Sunday Night football, talk about
the Broncos.
Speaker 2 (45:44):
Pretty awesome. Benjaminal Bright will be long here in just
a little bit. Dave in Iowa. You're up next year
on Broncos react. What's up?
Speaker 5 (45:50):
Dave?
Speaker 15 (45:52):
Well, first of all, congrats to you and everybody else.
Add from mister Peyton, add the Peyton at help build
the team. You know that was close to complete game.
Get over the Riley boss stuff. A win is a win.
They'll work with him on that, you know that. But
(46:12):
I was so proud to just sit there and say,
well wow, and the excitement shared by everybody except maybe
mister Albright that kind of needed a little push to
see things your way. Maybe he does now.
Speaker 2 (46:28):
Yeah, he was picking.
Speaker 1 (46:29):
He was picking the Broncos to lose this one pretty significantly,
so I'm glad.
Speaker 15 (46:34):
He never listened to you guys. He never did so well,
what could I say? Maybe maybe he better pick I
don't know somebody for the Buffaloes that's being invaded by
the cyclodation this week. Just the thought. I'm with you
(46:55):
on a well by the count in aims. That's the
hottest ticket for a long time, even after yesterday's laying
of an egg in Cincinnati. That was the most painful
half of football. I've watched Iowa State play for years,
but they still almost got back in it at the end.
Speaker 2 (47:16):
It did, I did. I thought that was over warely.
Speaker 15 (47:19):
Yeah, well those little teeny tiny things. Yep, it adds up.
But at the end, a wid is a wid you
larned from beer, But steaks you move on to.
Speaker 1 (47:30):
The next game, perfectly said, days to do, perfectly said,
thanks for recall. They have a great week, you twoser,
Thank you very much. Done, you have next on Broncos.
Speaker 2 (47:41):
React. What's up? Done?
Speaker 5 (47:43):
How are you doing?
Speaker 16 (47:43):
Ryan?
Speaker 2 (47:44):
I'm doing great? Thanks for calling in.
Speaker 16 (47:46):
Oh yeah, I appreciate you taking my call to Ryan.
I just wanted a couple touch on a couple of
things I thought that the third quarter, when there was
seventeen to three, I kind of just started my most
Bronco fans just out having doubts because we saw this
last year playing the Ravens and the playoffs and the
I'm sorry the Ravens and the regular season and the
Bills in the playoffs, and then I think I felt
(48:06):
like that second quarter kind of when the guy kind
of started getting away from us when it was tied
at three, and then we had that bad possession and
we gave up that thirty and seventeen to fifty seven
yard completion. But when it was I felt Ryan, when
they made it seventeen to ten, just kind of felt
like they just grabbed the momentum and they never looked
back after that. And that's why I just felt that
was a It wasn't so much how they wont it.
(48:26):
I mean, it wasn't so much they won the game, Ryan,
it's how they want it. Because I was going through
adversity as we've seen during this Sean Payton here or
where they had to deal with adversity an other year.
Like I said, last year, they kind of crumbled. They
had the better tip, the better team ended up winning
the game again with the Ravens and the Bills in
the playoffs. But I thought this team just sold more
character and more guts, And I thought we talked maybe
(48:48):
they're coming of age with a guy like bow Knicks
and Sean Payton, because right now, I've always been a
Bowl leaver and I was gonna be a Boliaver until
I had no reason not to believe. And I think
this was just I feel like this was maybe bo
knicks coming out party. The only Champags that gave coach
as a Bronco a Bronco's head coach.
Speaker 2 (49:03):
You know, I'm kind of with you on that. I
think it's a great point. Hey, don do you you
live local?
Speaker 16 (49:08):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (49:08):
I'm okay. Hey do you like Sam's Number three Dinner
and Bar?
Speaker 4 (49:13):
Oh?
Speaker 16 (49:13):
Yeah, most definitely. Yeah. I mean I love deep Ryan.
Speaker 17 (49:15):
You know.
Speaker 4 (49:18):
When it comes deep, right, I'm there man?
Speaker 1 (49:20):
Yeah, Well, Donn, I'd like to give you a fifty
dollars gift card to Sam's Number three Dinner and Bar.
Speaker 2 (49:24):
If that's cool.
Speaker 16 (49:25):
I would appreciate that.
Speaker 1 (49:26):
Man, you got it, You got it. I'm gonna put
you on hold. My guy, Shanon Scott's gonna talk to
you about that. But yeah, you know, it's a great point.
It's a great point that this might be one of
the better coach games, especially there in the second half,
and more so down this stretch.
Speaker 2 (49:41):
I mean, you had to thread this needle.
Speaker 1 (49:44):
And once again, coaching is is a like that, right,
because you go for two, it doesn't work, and you're
gonna get second guest, And you know that you have
to work on that high wire act every single time
you're coaching a game. So Sean Payton knows that if
they don't get the two point conversion and they ended
up losing the game by one point when they could
(50:06):
have tied the defending Super Bowl champions in Philadelphia with
an extra point, you know that's something that's going to
come back to you on the other side of it.
You call the play, you like the way it sets up.
You get Troy Franklin there for the two point conversion,
and now you put the pressure on the Eagles. You
probably sent them into a bit of a tailspin at
that point. So I mean, I loved it from that perspective,
(50:31):
and of course after the fact we get a chance
to laud him for it. But you had to throw
it at a needle there you're down by two touchdowns
on the road to a team that closes everybody out,
and they find a way to close everybody out. But
you did, and you touch the right buttons, you hit
the right buttons. You're still a lot of penalties. I mean,
that's something that from a coaching perspective, they got to
work on. But there was a lot to like about
(50:53):
this game. We're gonna take a very quick break. We'll
come back. Today's game is brought to you by Carl
Raids for Responsible Energy Development, developing Colera's energy. Learn more
at CRED dot org go to see r ED dot org.
Benjamin Albright joins me next on the kay Broncos Radio Network.
All around good guy. We give him a hard time,
but we do like Ben all brought Allbright a lot.
He's joining me and studio now till till nine o'clock.
Speaker 2 (51:14):
What's up been? What's going on?
Speaker 1 (51:16):
Well, a lot of people have been texting in wondering
what kind of what blanket takes you're gonna have on
on this this game? Since uh, you tweeted out almost
immediately that day, there was some mis dp.
Speaker 12 (51:28):
I oh, we got away with one at the end,
but he got away with one. It's over, like we won.
There's nothing to be pissy about. Okay, well we won, but.
Speaker 2 (51:34):
Till tweeting out about I mean, it's true.
Speaker 12 (51:36):
You can acknowledge the fact that we totally got away
with one, and we definitely got away with one. Now
there's no, no, no, one hundred percent that they would
have scored on the next play or anything, but we
there was I mean, he tackled him to the ground. It
was like, I don't even know what to say to that.
That officiating crew had the worst day both sides of
the ball. Like they were calling penalties and the Broncos
were penalties there called. They were missing penalties that were
that were they were they were missing.
Speaker 4 (51:57):
It was.
Speaker 12 (51:57):
That was a terrible officiating crew. And I'm sure that'll
get reviewed. But you get the dumb and now you're
the driver's seat. There's nothing to be You got to
clean up the penalties, that's for darn sure. You're still
you're still getting penalized too much. Still sloppy play on
that side of it, but there's there's not too much.
I mean, Philly choked this game away.
Speaker 2 (52:13):
They had it. They were they were, they had it,
and they choked the game away.
Speaker 1 (52:16):
Bo Nix was nine for ten clutch, one hundred and
twenty seven yards in a touchdown quarter.
Speaker 2 (52:21):
Yeah, clutch. What it mattered. Philly was choking the game.
But what are you doing? What is Kevin Patula doing?
Speaker 12 (52:26):
Pull it a Sean Payton throwing thirty eight times with
the Hurts and run it six times with Saquon Barkley.
You ran the ball six times with Saquon Barkley, Like,
what are we doing? If you're Philly, you.
Speaker 2 (52:36):
Know I'll take it. I mean thanks, you know, I
got thanks, but I don't I.
Speaker 12 (52:42):
Did not understand trying to force feed aj Brown because
he was whining. Uh, whend you have a Saquon Barkley
out there to lead? Philly didn't score after the half?
Speaker 2 (52:53):
Yeah they didn't. Uh yeah, they didn't score after the half.
Speaker 1 (52:57):
Well, they scored the long touchdown with Saquon in the
third quarter, and then they didn't. They didn't run the ball.
That was the thing that was sort of stunning for me.
They've got that forty seven right off the back, then
nothing and then nothing, Yeah, absolutely nothing, and they weren't
running the ball.
Speaker 2 (53:13):
You're up two touchdowns on your home turf. And you're
not running the ball.
Speaker 12 (53:16):
I yeah, Philly, to my mind, Phill, I mean we won.
I'll take the dub any which way you get it.
But Philadelphia had that thing in the bag at seventeen
three and and choked it away, and it's it's let
it be a lesson. You know, when you're up at
that point, play the percentages, do the right thing, run
the football, find ways to continue to melt the clock
away with while putting your team in position to get
(53:38):
a few first downs out of it instead of just
you know, trying to go through and humor up.
Speaker 2 (53:42):
You know, those those opportunities will take care of themselves.
Speaker 12 (53:44):
If somebody's mad about what they're getting or not getting,
you know that that's that'll sort itself out. You don't
have to manufacture that stuff at the expense of your offense.
And so if there's anything to take away from that,
I think that that for the Broncos is look across
the thing there and you know, Sean Payton tried his best.
I mean, how many times were we throwing there in
the but bo was on fire, So I got to
(54:05):
you know, I can't I can't criticize it too, which
we were throwing have been running. I told you what,
you're gonna find a way. Well, I mean we were throwing,
we should have been running, but Bo was converting.
Speaker 2 (54:12):
So I can't. You can't. You can't nitpick it. You know,
it must be hard for you to give credit to
Sean Payton.
Speaker 12 (54:18):
I'm not giving credit to him and giving credit to
Bo nixt taking credit from Sean and giving it to Bo.
Speaker 2 (54:24):
You just you just don't get it, do you been?
You just don't get it.
Speaker 12 (54:27):
I think I get it. I think it's there's several
other people that don't. I love how you're like, they're wrong.
There's everybody else that's brainwashed. I'm the one that sees
the truth.
Speaker 1 (54:35):
Jared, you're up next to Gerald broncos react with Bryan
Evers and Benjamin all Brow.
Speaker 2 (54:38):
What's up, Jared?
Speaker 17 (54:40):
Hey, man, I just want to call real quick because Man,
I heard this guy talk about Riley Moss and all
the you know, the hate towards them, Like, hey, he's
getting all this stuff, you know, towards them. You got
Patzertan next to him. What does anybody expect like he's
going to get ninety percent of the of the passes.
I don't understand why people think he's gonna just stop
(55:03):
all this just kind of curious why everybody thinks he's
going to be a shutdown corner like Pats of Tan.
Speaker 1 (55:10):
Yeah, and I think it's a fair point, and I
appreciate the calling that that was a big discussion earlier.
Thank you Jared for bringing that up because I wanted
to get Ben's thoughts on it. There seems to be
this perception of Riley Moss that he well, somebody texted
in I'll just tell you somebody texted in earlier saying
that he doesn't belong in the NFL, and Riley Moss
(55:31):
doesn't belong.
Speaker 2 (55:32):
In the NFL, and that he's not one.
Speaker 1 (55:34):
Well, first of all, not one of sixty four top
cornerbacks is in.
Speaker 2 (55:37):
He doesn't belong to be.
Speaker 12 (55:38):
Riley Moss would be CB one on about a dozen
teams in this league.
Speaker 2 (55:42):
He's just a high volume target guy.
Speaker 12 (55:43):
Because you've got pats er ten on the other side, right,
which is Ross Moss two touchdowns up the whole year,
and both those were perfectly defensed. You get that magic
play that Herbert pulled out of his backside team out throwing,
throwing behind Nick Benito's arm and then I can't remember
the other one off the top of my head, but
I remember it being perfectly defended when I watched it.
Moss's Moss is playing well. I mean, he's playing very well.
(56:04):
It's the NFL. There's the way you defend things down
the way the rules are. As a corner, you're gonna
give up some play. Sometimes it just happens. You You're
gonna it's gonna happen. Even certain gives up play. Sometimes
it's gonna happen.
Speaker 5 (56:15):
Uh.
Speaker 12 (56:15):
But Riley Moss is like the most targeted corner in
the NFL because the rest of the defense is so good,
that's the spot they figure that maybe they can get
away with stuff.
Speaker 2 (56:24):
Sometimes they do.
Speaker 12 (56:25):
I think Riley's at a bit of a disadvantage with
long speed guys, and we saw that with Devonte Smith
today at a big touchdown. You can't let DeVante get
the inside leverage and then hook you and get around you.
He can't do that. That's a mistake and technique. But
at the same time, Riley Boss is a decent corner
and gets it, gets a lot of He gets the
brunt of the criticisms just because teams throw his way
all the time. It reminds you of who is the
(56:47):
corner opposite theon with the with the Dallas Cowboys used
to get all the all the hate all the time
because everybody throw at.
Speaker 2 (56:51):
Him all the time. Like I mean, that's just that's
just the way it goes.
Speaker 12 (56:54):
Just like when you whenever you when you have a
great corner on one side, the other corner is sometimes
gonna look worse than he is because they're just gonna
keep throwing at him.
Speaker 1 (57:02):
And I like the point you bring up, it's kind
of the nature of the position. You're gonna give up catches,
and it's kind of what your response is. And somebody
had called in just a little bit ago and saying,
at what point to the Broncos consider benching or or
limiting some of his ops, which again I'm not even
close into that. I said, but if the Broncos coaching
staff were to see some technique issues that they've been
(57:22):
coaching with him and he's not learning, or if there's
a confidence issue, But I don't think.
Speaker 2 (57:27):
That that that's the case.
Speaker 1 (57:29):
Now, I pointed out this, you're playing against two ones
as far as I'm concerned, Devonte Smith and aj Brown
represent two of the higher level wide receivers in the league.
In the fact that you have two ones out there
at your disposal and the fact that the passing offense
isn't very good this year is remarkable. It says a
lot about their coaching. But that's what's gonna happen. When
you're playing against high level wide receivers.
Speaker 2 (57:51):
They're gonna get.
Speaker 1 (57:51):
Their wins because from a technique standpoint, that's why they're
elite at what they do.
Speaker 2 (57:56):
Yeah, I'll tell you this.
Speaker 12 (57:57):
I know for a fact the coaching staff has no
thought of Ben Shing Riley Moss.
Speaker 2 (58:01):
They don't have any gripes.
Speaker 12 (58:01):
They don't see him as a liability, and I would
suggest that the only criticism that they have is that
if Riley's going to get that many targets thrown his way,
they'd like to see an interception or two.
Speaker 2 (58:10):
You know, true.
Speaker 12 (58:11):
They don't want to see Ron Darby ititis over there.
You know where you're playing decent, but you know you're not.
They would like to see, you know, Riley get a
turnover too, and they feel like those will come, especially
next week when you've got a running back playing quarterback.
Speaker 2 (58:22):
So yeah, that's going to be You're going to be
in sofcwerabol.
Speaker 12 (58:30):
This week when during that game, come on down to
the Burndown where by the way next week. Since it's
an early game and the game kicks off with seven
seven thirty in the morning, I think the bar opens
at six thirty. We've decided, along with the art of
Tequila people in the Broncos cheerleader who are down there,
that we are having a pajama party. So show up
at your pajamas because it's early in the morning. Don't
even worry abou getting dressed up. We're haveing a pajama
party down at the burn Down to watch the Jets
(58:50):
and Broncos in London. It's kind of awkward, but you're welcome.
Speaker 2 (58:54):
I don't really need to see you you barely wear
It closes it is. I don't need to see you
in pajamas in a robe. I'm gonna wear a pajamas shows
underneath the robe.
Speaker 1 (59:05):
Oh god, you wish there were This is like that
episode of Sign Fella with Kramer.
Speaker 2 (59:10):
Are you telling me the Layer of Gardine?
Speaker 12 (59:15):
Now come on, now, we're gonna have a pajama party.
I will wear a pajama pants and a T shirt.
But yes, we're gonna have a pajama party down at
the burn Down next Sunday.
Speaker 2 (59:22):
All right, well again, you're gonna be on at four
thirty in the morning.
Speaker 12 (59:24):
Yeah, and then going down there, so I'll need to
drink at that's at seven am.
Speaker 2 (59:27):
It'll be excused. That's gonna that's gonna be that got
a great bunch.
Speaker 1 (59:30):
I gotta tell you, I appreciate your take on Riley
Moss because there was a lot of hate early on
and and it's amazing. You know, they win this game
and the Broncos defense shuts out the Eagles in the
fourth quarter, and even the touchdown they gave up to
Saquon was not on Riley Moss though you you'd think
it was because of the hate that was coming in.
(59:52):
But my goodness, we had I mean, callers textures, this
guy needs to be benched, this guy is getting burned
left and right, and and I felt like I was
sort of like, what Tom Cruise with you pulling out
the sword instead? No, and that's not that's not the
meal I'm thinking of. I'm thinking of Game of Thrones
with the poll. Yeah, So it felt like I was
(01:00:15):
I was kind of on my own fighting against him.
Speaker 2 (01:00:19):
At the end of the day, that's just what it is.
Speaker 12 (01:00:20):
I mean, there's people that know ball and people who don't,
people that don't tend to say weird things.
Speaker 1 (01:00:24):
George d up next year on Broncos React with Ryan
Everards and Benjamin all Right, what's.
Speaker 2 (01:00:28):
Up, George? Hey, George, Man, I were great, man, Thanks
for coming in.
Speaker 18 (01:00:36):
Sweet Hey listen, I tell you man, I was watching
the game today on TV and listening to the to
the game KOA, I do both at the same time
when games, when games permit that way. Anyway, what I
was gonna say was, you know, uh, three things I like,
(01:01:03):
I said, uh, take.
Speaker 2 (01:01:05):
You time, You're good, George story.
Speaker 18 (01:01:07):
Clutch, Yes, absolute clutch during that fourth quarter. I mean,
my god, wow another one. Franklin. Yeah, he's good, majorly clutch.
(01:01:28):
Seems like seems like he and uh, it seems like
he and Bo just happened to have that just that
special spark between them that you know when they're when
when he's needed, he he comes up with clutch plays
when they're necessary.
Speaker 2 (01:01:47):
Anything else.
Speaker 10 (01:01:47):
George just wanted to.
Speaker 18 (01:01:50):
Ask one question about the show actually too. Uh, just
wondering how Mike Rice is doing or is he still
with the shore or what's he doing nowadays?
Speaker 2 (01:02:00):
He is not?
Speaker 12 (01:02:01):
Yeah, Mike, Wow, Mike's moved on. He's not with the
company anymore. I can't recall exactly where he's at.
Speaker 18 (01:02:07):
Okay, I see, alrighty, Like I said, I mean, you know, man,
I just wanted to give my shout out to Denvers.
You know Denvers play this week, and you know, just
congratulate him on a on a huge win.
Speaker 2 (01:02:26):
Thank you, George, appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (01:02:30):
Three h three five eighty five five six six nine
zeros or ka common Spirit health text line.
Speaker 2 (01:02:35):
Chris says, you have a good take on Moss. Are
you seeing I don't have a good take on Moss?
Speaker 3 (01:02:39):
What?
Speaker 2 (01:02:40):
What's what? What is this? What is Ben? Ben Old
comes and comes in and he has great takes and
I don't.
Speaker 5 (01:02:44):
I'm just kidding.
Speaker 2 (01:02:45):
Yeah, I think it pretty You get pretty fired with
a couple of callers and texters earlier. Oh okay, was
Sassy Ryan. Oh my god, did I get the chance
to listen.
Speaker 12 (01:02:53):
Last last thing I heard on the on the air
before I had to do some other things was Susie
doing the locker room interviews.
Speaker 2 (01:02:57):
So yeah, I got I got I got a little heated. Okay,
maybe Ryan made an appearance. Maybe maybe, Well, I'll say
this a little too much.
Speaker 12 (01:03:06):
The calming, rational presence of Benjamin Albright is here for you.
Try me crazy, But there are a lot of people.
Speaker 2 (01:03:17):
Yeah, of all the people, of all the people to
go here. The voice of reason is here, Ryan.
Speaker 1 (01:03:23):
I got this with a lot of people texting in
saying I wonder how wet blanket Albright is going to
move the goalposts.
Speaker 12 (01:03:29):
There's nothing to move. You guys, get me wrong on this.
It's not that you know I'm not. I want the
Broncos to win.
Speaker 5 (01:03:35):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:03:35):
There are just issues that we have that are some
They're fairly obvious.
Speaker 12 (01:03:39):
And if a dork like me with a microphone in
front of me is calling these issues out, then then
you know that the other teams are calling these issues out.
I want the Broncost to go to Super Bowls back
to back to back to back. I don't care if
the head coach hates me personally on a deeply an
intimate level.
Speaker 2 (01:03:51):
I want them to win. It makes my job more fun.
I love football. So you guys got me wrong on that.
Speaker 12 (01:03:58):
Does it seem like I'll pick on some things sometimes
probably uh and mostly because nobody else will step up
to the plate and pick on those things that probably
need to get vocalized. Sean Payton's late game clock management,
including in this game, was terrible by process by result.
He got away with it today. He didn't get away
with it the last couple of times, you know. So
that's something that still bothers me. But you know, at
(01:04:20):
the end of the day, they got a w.
Speaker 2 (01:04:21):
So what am I gonna do? Like, you know, they
got to win. We're on to We're on to London
and the New York you know, can't score and win Jets.
Let's get one more call in here before we hit
the break. Connor, is that the game you're up next year?
With Ryan Evers and benjaminall Broab? What's up?
Speaker 10 (01:04:33):
Connor?
Speaker 5 (01:04:35):
Hey?
Speaker 15 (01:04:35):
How's it going.
Speaker 1 (01:04:37):
We're doing great man. We're in the Broncos one impressive
game today.
Speaker 2 (01:04:40):
What's going on with you?
Speaker 4 (01:04:42):
Yeah?
Speaker 15 (01:04:42):
Yeah, it was great. First time in Philly, we traveled,
we tried to go all the way games.
Speaker 8 (01:04:46):
I mean it's electric over here.
Speaker 18 (01:04:47):
I tell you what.
Speaker 15 (01:04:49):
People talk about the fans being crazy.
Speaker 10 (01:04:51):
And yeah, I can definitely see that, but uh, it
was it was a great game.
Speaker 8 (01:04:56):
I hate that we keep starting out slow though.
Speaker 7 (01:04:58):
It's killing me.
Speaker 15 (01:05:00):
They gotta figure it out, you know, a little.
Speaker 6 (01:05:01):
Bit, mix it up a little bit on first down.
Speaker 15 (01:05:02):
We're a little bit predictable.
Speaker 8 (01:05:03):
And then they figured it out in halftime.
Speaker 10 (01:05:05):
But yeah, yeah, a bowl with clutched in the end.
Speaker 15 (01:05:07):
I didn't I did really like that Moss.
Speaker 10 (01:05:10):
He was still covered, he was covering him.
Speaker 6 (01:05:12):
He was getting burned a little bit.
Speaker 10 (01:05:13):
But I mean he gets tossed at a lot being
opposite side of certain So just a little bit of
mixing it up on first man, if we go under
center and.
Speaker 4 (01:05:20):
Run run the ball on first down again and be so,
I'm gonna lose my mind.
Speaker 6 (01:05:24):
But they open it up a little bit in the
second half and started tossing the rock around.
Speaker 8 (01:05:28):
You know, we could throw it on first down. You
know it's it's available.
Speaker 10 (01:05:32):
That's all I gotta say.
Speaker 1 (01:05:33):
I'm with you on that, Connor, thanks for the call, man,
I'm with you on that as a remarkable game in
a lot of ways me. The Broncos a lot of penalties.
We will talk some more about that as we go along.
Twelve for one twenty one. They own time of possession
almost thirty five minutes in this game. If you'd have
told me the Broncos now they didn't commit any turnovers.
(01:05:53):
They also didn't get any takeaways either, I would have
I would have said that sort of a key to
this game is finding a way to get a takeaway.
Speaker 3 (01:06:01):
Now.
Speaker 1 (01:06:01):
The Eagles are stingy. They got one turnover on the season.
They do not turn the ball over, so give them
credit where it's due. But to go into Philadelphia and
get a win, I would have thought that would have
been part of the equation.
Speaker 12 (01:06:13):
Personally, Well, I can't lose the turnover battle, I think
is I think it's more of the way to say that,
and they didn't. You know, you don't lose the turnover
battle in that regard.
Speaker 2 (01:06:24):
You know, there was.
Speaker 12 (01:06:26):
If the guy was talking about how we're starting cold
on offense, that's true, but we're also starting real hot
on defense. We have a lot of touchdown the first
quarter since at some point last year, I'd have to
go back and look exactly. I mean, they're starting off
hot on defense and that's helping them out. Defense is
helping in the areas where the offense is deficient until
they get to where they need to be. And that's
you know, you're you're seeing I think over the last
(01:06:48):
two or three games, you see in this offense grow
a little bit. It's starting to kind of find it's
I didn't really count it against the Bengals because they're
so bad, but they all were kind of finding their
rhythm a little bit. You can count it against the
Eagles at the is good enough, you know, so I
think they're growing into it. We saw him start slow
last year, we start slow this year. I hope that's
not a hallmark of this offense going forward. But it
(01:07:10):
looks like they're getting ready to hit their October stride,
as it were. And certainly you've got some winnable games
next couple of weeks against the teams from New York.
Speaker 2 (01:07:18):
Feels like it.
Speaker 1 (01:07:19):
One more text here, ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce
Benjamin Albright, the man, the myths, the legend in his
own mind, the voice of the Blanket.
Speaker 2 (01:07:26):
That's I'm putting that on a business card. Benjamin Albright,
Voice of the Blanket. It's pretty good.
Speaker 1 (01:07:30):
All right, We're gonna take a very quick break and
we'll come back. We're on till nine o'clock tonight. Ryan
