Speaker 1 (00:00):
In the pocket, pulling away from pressure.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
Now finally being grabbed and pulled down at the forty
one yard line, and that'll be a sack again. Aaron
Glynn out on the field calling a time out. The
sack there by Nick Benito, Benito and Zach Allen together
for the Broncos, a loss of a yard. It brings
up third and seven.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
Actually I could do better than that. There are some
great well, let's have some fun. Let's play some sacks
really quick. Here's another one from Nick Benito.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
Fields looks over the Bronco defense. They look like they're
going to pressure. Here they bring five. He's gonna be
hit and pulled down, and there's that man, Nick Bonito.
Banito to the rescue for the Broncos. Seventh sack of
the game for the Broncos, a loss of seven.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
Let's keep going glitz.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
On the way. Fields looks right, pulls away from one
would be tackler, but he's submerged back in Jets territory.
At the forty nine I think at Straanad it was
a pack of singleton was there to a pack of
white jerseys?
Speaker 4 (00:57):
Were there?
Speaker 1 (00:58):
Loss of five?
Speaker 2 (00:59):
Vanc Jose decides to come after the young quarterback.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
Oh, you're the best one. Here we go.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
Pass protection is essential fields in the pocket, pressure pulls
away from Cooper.
Speaker 5 (01:10):
Now we'll be sacked back at the forty.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
Four yard line Denver's football with one oh nine left
Cooper and Jones the ninth sack of the game for
the Broncos. And even though it was ugly for much
of the game, the Broncos are going to get out
of London tied for first place at worst in the
AFC West Outstanding.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
For every sack made in today's game, the dan Caplis

of the Denver Broncos. A three O three sevent one,
three eighty five eighty five, five six six nine zeros
are away common sperate health text line. We have a
lot of funk we had a lot of calls, we
had a lot of text We're gonna be on until
five o'clock tonight. Let's go back to the phones and
let's see here we got.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
It's like Dave, Dave and Iowa you're up next year
on Broncos react. What's up, Dave, Ryan, you.
Speaker 6 (02:19):
Have made by day. Okay, defense wins championships, I.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
Mean certainly, certainly in this case.
Speaker 6 (02:30):
Right Well, yes, old Dave was having a bad day yesterday.
When is Diychlodes laid to egg, get pulse and feel
and lost to a better team. See, everybody, when you're
in a position to win and you're a good team,
(02:50):
everybody gives you their super Bowl, whether it's college or pro.
But defense can at Willwood Championships. And I'd so that
I'm a part of Broncos country. Even though I bade
Kansas City had minnesotaed Greed Bay territories of this state.
But I'm proud to wear my jacket today. You're bade
(03:11):
by DAVEY.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
Appreciate you, Dave, Hey, I appreciate you, sir.
Speaker 6 (03:17):
Absolutely have a great week.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
Okay, yeah, I sure will.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
Thank you, Dave. I appreciate it. I love that we
get calls from all over the country. It's so cool,
such a cool deal. Today's game. Broncos React by the
way line from the Smashburger sports desk with a new
four ninety nine menu featuring the single All American Burger
singles Luxburger, and the new Americana Big Dog.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
Back to the phones.
Speaker 3 (03:37):
Albert in Highland's ranch is up next year on Broncos React.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
What's up, Albert?
Speaker 7 (03:42):
Heay, Gavina. Are you doing Ryan?
Speaker 1 (03:45):
I'm craig Man. How are you, boy?
Speaker 7 (03:48):
I'm doing good. I'm doing really good. That was ugly,
but a win is a win is a win. I
got a couple of things I wanted to ask you.
So it was obvious coming into game, go and get
the twenty six ranks Russian defense. You got to run
the ball. That was obviously in the game plan with
with towers out, probably make it a little bit difficult.
But when do you start to go away from the
(04:10):
run game, because obviously in the second half, like you know,
fifteen yards passing for bow like obviously we're trying to
run the ball didn't work out so well. So I'm
always one where I've said from the start of the
year where to help bow. You got to run the ball,
But when do you When do you stop ring the
ball when you realize like you're just not you're not
(04:31):
getting any trashing.
Speaker 8 (04:32):
What are your thoughts?
Speaker 3 (04:33):
Yeah, it's a good point. Hey, Albert, you like Sam's
number three, Donner and bar.
Speaker 7 (04:38):
I do, but I just won like probably a month ago.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
Oh, you just have too many good calls. Yeah, all right, Well,
I appreciate the honesty there. I do appreciate the honesty there.
You're right, I want to give it to somebody else,
but I appreciate you.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
You have called in before and I like your takes.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
Yeah, as far as the running game goes, you have
to continue to just kind of commit to it. It
did feel like at moments yesterday where or sorry today, Sorry,
it's been a long day already. We've been here since
four thirty, So it did feel like there were moments
where they probably stay with it.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
Just a little bit too long.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
But it's you never really know, because it's an ebb
and floating, right, there's an art form to it. What
you think you're gonna be able to do, the look
you're getting from the defense, and there of course gonna
make place too It's amazing though, because we have so
many calls often where it's the other way. It's like, ah,
why the Broncos never run the ball, and especially in
the second half. So they did run the ball in
(05:34):
the second half, it just wasn't effective. A couple of
nice runs there from JK. Dobbins late though, on that
final drive or one of the final drives that they
got the field goal.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
Those some good stuff there from JK. Dobbins.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
We go back to the phones, Andrew and San Diego
is up next year on Broncos React.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
What's up?
Speaker 9 (05:49):
Andrew?
Speaker 10 (05:51):
Hey, Ryan, thanks for having me on after our last
week conversation about Riley Moss. That's why I appreciate you,
you know, other than some stations let you call in
and have your frustrations air out. I like to tip
my punkin spice Lotte to you. I after, you know,
thinking about it, I was like, you know, I can't
wait to call Ryan next week.
Speaker 11 (06:11):
You know.
Speaker 10 (06:11):
I think what I have the issue with is that
you know, when the keep to leave and Chris Harris
was the no fly zone, you know before Pastor ten
and and Roley Moss. You know, the expectations are so
high you know, and I go, you know, I gotta
step back and think about the whole picture. You know,
is it is it egregious?
Speaker 4 (06:29):
Now?
Speaker 10 (06:30):
Is something we can live with? Yes, always can hope for.
Is that we keep growing and get better. And that's
the way I took away from last week to this week.
And I think that's why maybe he played a little
bit better today. He didn't feel me breathing down his neck.
Speaker 11 (06:44):
Uh.
Speaker 10 (06:45):
But uh, but you know, the one thing that you know,
I know a lot of great callers have said, is like,
you know, the offense sputtering, you know, and and I
and losing Ben Powers really showed how our death at
the line. And I'm hoping that you know, being that
Matt part, you know, just thrust in there last minute,
hopefully those penalties that you had today will get cleaned
(07:07):
up and that he'll have a more clean game against
the Giants. And I think maybe another week of practice
will get him going. But I really want like to
I don't know what you thought about this, but what
really I think through off the rhythm, I think, you know,
I could be wrong, is that you know, you think
about that one drive when they did a great stop
(07:28):
and you know, the Broncos are pinned at the two
yard line and you know we're throwing it, which I
don't understand on that part, but on first down, you know,
that's throwing the ball for a long you know reception,
and obviously you get the holding penalty in the end zone.
You know, that really killed the drive. And another one
that also killed the drive was also the it was
(07:48):
a great right before half, a great throw, great catch
and run by Franklin and begin our penalty that kills
that drive. And now we're you know, a long a
distance and we're trying to you know, get I said,
you know, getting a first down. We're like thirty and eighteen,
you know. And it's just those really I think set
off the rhythm. And then lastly is the last two
(08:10):
drives of the game. The one before the last drive,
I don't understand. Champagne's running two run plays and then
passes it and it's like they know you're going to
pass it because you know third and long, so they're
going to bring the pass rush. And then the second
thing the last drive is we're passing the ball. I'm like, wait,
I'm like confused of like I'm like this rhythm flow
(08:31):
of like when to call the plays for a run
when you know call play for past I would I
would like to know, like exactly what's in the huddle
because like what is the conversation between bone Nicks and
Champagne on these drives? Because it really.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
Yeah, I hear you Andrey. We got a lot of
a lot of calls, man.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
I do appreciate you calling in and I always like
talking to you, but we got a lot of people
on hold here, man, so I appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
Yeah, they seem got to sink.
Speaker 3 (08:57):
You saw them kind of discussing for if you will
on the sideline some moments in the game.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
I still don't really come completely understand.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
The third and ten handoff to a full back that
And it wasn't even one of those like oh we're
going to be really smart here and try to catch
them off balance. Honestly, just seemed like you'd kind of
give it up at that point. So a lot of
interesting choices there in the second half, and they just
(09:27):
they seem out to sink. And is that a trend?
I mean, I can't say that because you had a
good fourth quarter against the Eagles. Is that the norm?
Speaker 9 (09:35):
Now?
Speaker 3 (09:35):
I wouldn't say that either because more often than not,
as a team that is currently averaging twenty three point
four points per game, I mean, obviously that's dipped now
because of this thirteen point performance, But as a team
that averages over twenty three points per game, you say,
all right, well, they do some things offensively, but there's
a inconsistency, there's no doubt about that, and they do
(09:56):
fall apart at times for long stretches, and that for
me is kind of the bigger issue. Here, a couple
of texts here, wait, take a break here at the
top of the are five six six nine. Yeah, we're
on until five o'clock. Benjamin Olbride's gonna be on around two.
What is the listening area for Broncos game? I live
in Aurora, but I'm from Honolulu. Oh, and get an
(10:19):
out of area message for iHeart.
Speaker 1 (10:21):
Yeah, I think I don't.
Speaker 3 (10:22):
I don't really know as far as for the app
goes Broncos Radio Network dot com. I think is one
way you can listen. I don't know it, but I
do think that that might be in the area. It's
there's something to do with your location settings.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
It's a little more technical for me. Then let's see here.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
Broncos still onto pace to break eighty four bear sack
record of seventy two sacks in a season. Is power
is that important for our running game? Or is this
a one off situation? Now that's a fantastic question that
that is a very very good question. I'm not really sure.
Oh my god, goodness. The Broncos may never win again,
not really. I think this is a confidence booster game
(11:03):
for the young players. Yeah, it was ugly, but it's
a win. That's no cod Dan positives.
Speaker 1 (11:08):
A win.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
Defense absolutely rocks. Though it's a concern. The defense absolutely
cannot generate takeaways. We will lose close games versus good teams.
That continues negatives. Offense Solo starts every week out of
the gate in all six games.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
Penalties in all six games.
Speaker 3 (11:22):
Yeah, the penalties for me is something that's really started
to stack up, no doubt about that. All Right, we're
gonna take a very quick break here. Actually, let's pause
ten seconds for stage identification. You're listening to the Kaway
Broncos Radio.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
Network Broncos Yet live from London, Long k Away, Denver, m.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
All right, three oh three seven one three eighty five
eighty five five six six nine zero or KWA.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
Common Sparate Health text line.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
We still gotta give away those Sam's Number three Diner
in Bar fifty dollars gift cards. So and again thanks
for the honesty earlier on the call. I do appreciate
that because sometimes I like your joels and I just
want to give it away. We are, by the way,
speaking of Sam's Number three Diner and bar. We're gonna
be giving away a pair of tickets to the Cowboys
game and react next week. So just as a little
(12:08):
programming note, so today this week just the fifty dollar
gift cards, which is still pretty cool. But next week
we're gonna do that and Cowboys tickets. We will be
right back on the Kiawai Broncos Radio network.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
Kicks has the age. Let's side steps out of a
tackle and then gets a Belton. He's got a first down.
Evan Ingram helps him up off the ground. That's one
that may rattle your teeth a bit all the way
to the forty six. So it's a gain of six
on third down of the yard and a half. A
run by Bonnicks gives the Broncos a first down.
Speaker 12 (12:36):
Yeah, bow didn't slide on that run.
Speaker 13 (12:38):
He took a big shot from Brownley Junior.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
You don't want to see your quarterback take too many
hits like that. He actually delivered the shot to Brownley Junior,
but I hee, he dipped his shoulder.
Speaker 9 (12:49):
He did.
Speaker 3 (12:49):
Yeah, A lot of people play that out and including
Kyle Brants with NFL Network. Looks like that might end
up being on Angry runs this He awfully and often
does those segments. Welcome back to Broncos react. I'm Ryan Edwards.
Huge news in college football. Moments ago Penn State fired
James Franklin, their head coach. They owe still per Pete Thameil.
(13:10):
They still owe him forty nine million, but certainly not
performing up to the level that you would expect there
at Penn State. So moments ago in college football, massive
breaking news, Penn State firing James Franklin.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
They had another pretty brutal loss yesterday.
Speaker 3 (13:27):
You remember a couple of weeks ago they lost to
I think as UCLA, and it's just it's been a bad,
bad deal there for Penn State for a little while.
Today's game is presented by Children's Hospital Colorado Official Children's
Hospital at the Denver Broncos.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
Ryan Edwards with.
Speaker 3 (13:40):
You three h three seven one three eighty five eighty five, five, six,
six nine zero. We will continue on here with Kelly
in Centennial.
Speaker 14 (13:48):
What's up, Kelly, Good afternoon. Hey, so ugly ugly game
in the sense of the win for the offense. I'm
gonna try to fill in for your Sam's Award. Am
I giving an ask to certain for kind of closing
down one side. We're gonna give an A for at
Kids for getting his first touchdown.
Speaker 4 (14:10):
We're gonna give.
Speaker 14 (14:10):
An M for Moss kind of shutting down the other
side and for them doing all that.
Speaker 15 (14:15):
That gives me my other s for all the facts.
Speaker 4 (14:18):
So that's my fams.
Speaker 3 (14:20):
You know what, Kelly, that works for me. Congratulations. You
want a fifty dollar gift card to the SAMs number three.
Speaker 1 (14:25):
Dinerom Bar way to go.
Speaker 4 (14:27):
Hey, thank you.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
That's it. I told you guys, Patrick works. That was
pretty good. That was fun. Kelly's on line three, so
you can grab that.
Speaker 3 (14:35):
Joseph in Colorado Springs, what's up, Joseph?
Speaker 11 (14:39):
Hey, what's up?
Speaker 5 (14:40):
How are you doing?
Speaker 6 (14:41):
Man?
Speaker 1 (14:41):
I'm doing great, Thanks for Colin. Thanks for holding of course.
Speaker 11 (14:44):
So I just want to talk about two things really quickly.
For one, man, is anyone else getting the vibe of
like the twenty fifteen team defense. I mean, we are
just killing it on defense, and like it also, like
the the whole team is giving the twenty fifteen five.
And I'm not saying Bonnicks is twenty fifteen pain manning,
(15:04):
but like, I mean, dang, that defense is just some
to watch. And then bo Nicks has to work on
the overthrows. He had one really bad one today and
he's had some throughout the season and he just needs
to work on it really badly.
Speaker 3 (15:19):
Yeah, I mean, you listen, you you're right on that
the defense is special.
Speaker 1 (15:24):
There's no denying that fact. And they don't even come
close to winning this game without them.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
Although I will say that the Jets offense, especially the
quarterback Justin Fields, had a difficult time with the forward pass,
so I don't know if he would have done much
better against any defense, but especially against this Broncos defense.
But when it comes to the other side, yeah, I
mean there's there's certainly things to clean up. I think offensively,
I'm not ready to go into the you know, they're
(15:48):
surviving based on the Broncos defense, but today they definitely
did anything else.
Speaker 11 (15:53):
Joseph, uh no, man, just you have a good day
and let's go Broncos.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
Let's go Broncos.
Speaker 3 (15:58):
Appreciate the call, Joseph, thank you three or three seven,
three eighty five eighty five.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
Ed in mans and Nola, Colorado, don't think I've ever
been there? Ed, what's up?
Speaker 3 (16:06):
Man?
Speaker 1 (16:06):
How are you well?
Speaker 16 (16:08):
So far, so good?
Speaker 1 (16:09):
But the day and over yet fair enough? Yes, very true.
Speaker 17 (16:12):
Anyway, I just got a couple of quick points. Number
one is usually I'm in Oklahoma and on the app
I cannot get the Denver game that says I'm.
Speaker 13 (16:20):
Out of the market area, okay.
Speaker 17 (16:23):
And the second one is about special teams because I
have a good friend who's on the Ring of Fame
named Rick up Church, and he said, you've never ever
fair catch. You always go for it because either you're
going to get a penalty on them for being interfering
with your catch, or you're going to break a tackle
and maybe break it for a touchdown. And I agree
(16:44):
with that because I see too many times where they
call fair catch and there's nobody in the neighborhood.
Speaker 3 (16:49):
I mean, honestly, I can't disagree with you too much.
I mean, Rick up Church, who I've met a couple
of times. Definitely not say I'm good friends with them,
but I've met him a couple of times, and he
seems to know a lot about that as a Ring
of Famer, So.
Speaker 1 (17:03):
But you know, I don't know. Sometimes it's kind.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
Of what is being coached, right, So like we sit
here and we say, well, he had a lot of
room in front of him. And I even heard Dave
on one of the fair catches say, boy, I thought
Marvin Mims could have done made a move there, but
said he fair caught it. And that was inside the
twenty I think around sixteen or something along those lines.
And so that was one of those moments where you
can see it. But if for some reason and maybe
(17:28):
the coaching staff allows Marvin Mims to have that autonomy,
then who are we I guess to second guess it.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
If that's how he's being coached, You know what I'm saying. True,
So but hey, at anything else, that's it for me.
Speaker 3 (17:44):
You have a good day, you too, I appreciate it.
We'll get an NFL scoreboard check here. Very quickly colts
up fourteen to seven. Daniel Jones just had a rushing
touchdown the Dolphins are now back in front of the Chargers,
and as I mentioned a little bit earlier, zvon a
change helps thirty.
Speaker 18 (18:02):
Ten Dolphins at midfield eight tons a handoff. He's stopping
right side and out all the races. Forty thirty twenty
h walk into the episode. Touched up Miami fifty yard
sprint by eight chan.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
That's Jimmyson.
Speaker 3 (18:14):
Follow the wbgg W I NZ Miami Dolphins radio network.
They just kicked a field goal to go back in
front ten to nine. Patriots holding on to a fourteen
to thirteen lead over the Saints, but the Saints are driving.
Four minutes left in the second quarter of that game.
Steelers convert three field goals to lead nine nothing over
the Browns with three thirty one remaining in the second quarter.
(18:35):
Cowboys get a touchdown Dak Prescott to the tight end Ferguson.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
Just a little bit ago.
Speaker 3 (18:41):
They go back in front seventeen to ten over the Panthers,
and the Seahawks get a nice touchdown with Jackson Smith
and Jabu. They're up ten to six over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Oh and Rams Ravens still tied at three with five
minutes remaining, Pukatakoola left this game early. He is questionable
to return. Let's go back to the phones. I will
get to the text line here in a second. Back
to the phone, so would do in grand junction?
Speaker 1 (19:01):
What's up? Donald?
Speaker 6 (19:04):
Yes?
Speaker 15 (19:04):
Hey, I take who?
Speaker 10 (19:08):
We could beat Kensas City.
Speaker 1 (19:11):
I sure hope so that would be good news.
Speaker 19 (19:14):
Our defense is phenomenal.
Speaker 3 (19:17):
Mm hmm, defense is phenomenal. Anything else? Okay, Wow, there.
Speaker 6 (19:28):
You go, Broncos beating Kent City.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
Well then I really really hope they be the chiefs.
I thing for multitude reasons, but including you getting that win.
Speaker 9 (19:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (19:41):
I like to say go Broncos.
Speaker 1 (19:44):
Always always in the call with go Broncos. Thank you.
Speaker 3 (19:46):
Donald pre oh three seven, three eighty five eighty five,
five six, six nine zero. Broncos Football is presented by
Ramos Law, official injury law firm, partner of the Denver Broncos.
Read a couple of texts here before we hit the break. Well,
this might be the best Broncos defense ever, which is
saying something. Broncos offense scored two points for the Jets
and constantly put the defense in bad positions. I say
(20:07):
it was the defense, the offense and special teams. But
your point is valid as far as the tilting of things.
Somebody says Devin Hester would disagree with that last collar
about the fair catch idea. Okay, not sure why Bonux
is playing so poorly. I think he might need a
reset this week. More runs, less passing. Well, you gotta
(20:30):
do what you gotta do to win the game. That's
really what it comes down to.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
A We're gonna take a quick break.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
We are on till five o'clock tonight and keep updating
you guys on what's going on around the league this
morning as we have several games in action.
Speaker 1 (20:42):
That's all come up next on the Kway Broncos Radio network.
Bales takes it's not gonna got Preshia coming again.
Speaker 8 (20:47):
They're gonna get a hat on him. As Fields tried
to screw them away, but Jonathan Coop for the first one,
then to bring it down in the backfield once more.
Brandon chose, I think it was arriving as the cavalry
came to me Fields and.
Speaker 1 (20:58):
Then will shortly do it.
Speaker 8 (20:59):
Now New York's chances of any sort of victory, and
OHO and six is calling for the Jets, and they
just continue to have their wings clipped by this time.
Speaker 3 (21:08):
But Broncos defense, nice call. That's Oliver Wilson with Westwood One.
That was how it was heard on Westwood one Sporting
as the Broncos sealed it with the ninth sack on
Justin Fields.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
As we mentioned, minus ten, minus ten. I justill, I
can't believe that's stats blows my mind.
Speaker 3 (21:29):
And as my guy Zack Seekers just said it to me,
is the worst game in Jets history and the worst
by any team in the last twenty seven years. So
I guess to the caller earlier that said, maybe this
is the best Broncos defense ever, maybe even better than
the twenty fifteen team.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
I mean, those are things that you can point to.
Speaker 3 (21:52):
The Jets did their part in all of that, and
Justin Fields did his part. Boy, Ben is going to
be unsufferable. Ben Albright's to be at two o'clock. He's
going to be insufferable this afternoon, and he's gonna, I mean,
he earned it. He said, he said, this is a
really bad quarterback and Justin Fields was really bad, by
(22:14):
the way, and we'll try to play it a little
bit later on. I retweeted it on my Twitter account.
Aaron Glynn wins is asked about Justin Fields and if
he's going to stay the starting quarterback. He dismissed it
almost immediately, almost like, why are you even asking me
this kind of deal? And I don't know, man, I
think it's a fair question. I don't know if I
(22:37):
don't know if Rod Taylor is that much better.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
But it can be worse.
Speaker 3 (22:45):
I guess it could always technically be worse, but that
would be hard to I mean, last worst quarterback for
Worrinance in twenty seven years, worse than franchise history. By
the way, the Troylina Panthers just tried to do some
kind of weird lateral. It was not a lateral, and
uh it naturally got blown up and then fumbled and
(23:06):
I don't even know what just happened.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
Carolina.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
It'd be a fun game for them to win here
against the Cowboys. Cowboys are are flawed team. The Dolphins
holding on to a ten to nine lead over the
Chargers winning moments in the second quarter. As I mentioned earlier,
Jacksonville Trevor Lawrence to Brian Thomas.
Speaker 1 (23:26):
Jack Traver play fake pump, fake Firestown Field got.
Speaker 15 (23:30):
Him lined up with fire.
Speaker 2 (23:34):
Pump Bay Fire Bryant Thomas Junior, twenty one yard put
down Bath take jack Tim Bath fight.
Speaker 3 (23:41):
Fuck man, that's Franky Franjie Jackson the Jaguars radio network
on the call. They are trailing though the Seattle Seahawks
ten to six. Yeah, So Bryce Young passed it to
Xavier Lagette, who fumbled it to Rico Dowdell, who then
fumbled it and it was recovered by Xavier Lagette. That's
(24:04):
legitimately what just happened. And now it's third and eighteen.
So it was a pass, it was a lateral. It
was kind of basically fumbled twice, and the original guy
who caught the pass got the ball back. Carolina Panther
football catch the fever. All right, Back to the phone,
(24:24):
three or three, seven, five eighty five Having some fun.
Ryan in Indianapolis is up next year on Broncos React.
Speaker 1 (24:29):
What's up? Ryan?
Speaker 13 (24:31):
Hey?
Speaker 20 (24:32):
Ryan, how's it going, man?
Speaker 4 (24:33):
How are you?
Speaker 1 (24:33):
I'm doing great?
Speaker 18 (24:34):
Man.
Speaker 1 (24:34):
I love I love the NFL. It's so much fun.
Speaker 4 (24:36):
Yeah, it's great.
Speaker 2 (24:37):
Hey.
Speaker 20 (24:38):
You know this happened after I called in last week.
But I just wanted to say a really nice job
dealing with Bronco Country last week, with the whole Rilly
Moss giasco. We got to be better as a fan base.
I thought you handled that like a pro. So that's
why you're the best in the business man. So I
just wanted to say that appreciable. Who won't take any
crazy calls like that again. But anyway, Hey, obviously excited
(25:00):
about the win. You know, look, it was very ugly.
One of the most frustrating games I can remember watching
in a long time.
Speaker 6 (25:07):
I guess.
Speaker 20 (25:07):
You know, obviously, if you know wet blank, it's going
to come in and tow the Justin Fields thing. You
can go at him with Evan Ingram, because that guy
played awesome today and showed exactly why we brought him in,
making clutch catches on third down, which is exactly what
we needed. This kind of goes to my question and
then I'll hang up and let you respond. But I
think the one thing that was frustrating a little bit
(25:28):
today is that just seemed like we just got away
from what was working, especially in the first half, you know,
like getting the ball to Ingram, you know, coming out
in the second half, first possession we run with Dobbins,
We've been round with Harvey, and then we tried to
you know, double reverse, fake dump off to McLoughlin and
goes nowhere. Yeah, and then you know, the first second
(25:48):
drive is you know, we're on the three yard line
and I'm sitting there saying, let's run the football, keep
it simple, because if we step back the pass, we
might get a holding call in the end zone, and
sure enough that happens. And it just seemed like we
get away from what was working in the first half.
And obviously Sean Payton knows more about football than we'll
ever know, but just like, to me, that just seems
real frustrating as a fan because it's like, go back
(26:08):
to Evan Ingram, go back to what warts, and like,
let's keep moving the sticks. And then obviously, as Bow
alluded to after the game today, they just there was
no rhythm and then you know, next thing, you know,
we look up and we got fifty yards of offense
and we're you know, having to drive like fourth quarter
to win the game. And so just curious about your
thoughts around that, And like I said, I'll hang up
and listen, enjoy the show obviously, and looking forward to
(26:28):
you guys ripping this week.
Speaker 3 (26:30):
A I appreciate it. Ryan, Thanks for the comments. And
thank you for the compliment as well. About last week,
the Riley Mos stuff was a little it was a
little weird, It was a little off.
Speaker 1 (26:38):
I probably got a little snippy, but I didn't like
the tone.
Speaker 3 (26:42):
As I mentioned to you then, I didn't like the
tone of the Riley Mos shouldn't even be in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (26:48):
It was just a weird comment.
Speaker 3 (26:49):
And oh me, I took that in an extreme way,
I guess if you will. So I appreciate that though
very much. And yeah, wet blanket Allbright's gonna have some
fun at today. It's gonna be muscless and I think
for a lot of people, but you're right, Evan Ingram,
Evan Ingram how today and this is kind of what
he was brought in here to be. I mean, he
(27:10):
had five catches for forty two yards, had a couple
of big time first.
Speaker 1 (27:13):
Downs for this team.
Speaker 3 (27:15):
You think on a day, if I had told you
Corland Sun's gonna have one catch for seventeen yards on
three targets, you got like, boy, maybe they ran for
two hundred yards.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
No, they only ran for seventy eight.
Speaker 3 (27:26):
You would have felt pretty gross about what the team
did overall.
Speaker 1 (27:31):
And then yeah, Evansively, that's probably true.
Speaker 3 (27:34):
But Evan Ingram was clutch five catches on six targets
for forty two yards, and he came up a big
time on a couple of first downs and kept the
chains moving.
Speaker 1 (27:44):
And that's kind of what he's here for.
Speaker 3 (27:46):
Whatever we think about whether the Broncos need more passing
options or weapons, and I mean that that's a discussion
for another day.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
Right now.
Speaker 3 (27:55):
You brought Evan Ingram in here to be a guy
that can convert first downs for you because you you
missed that last year. By the way, I want to
give a little bit of a shout out to Pat Bryant.
He had a couple of nice catches for twenty two yards,
a couple of first downs, and man Troy Franklin, he
had that.
Speaker 1 (28:10):
One fumble early.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
If you didn't have the Matt part holding call, he
would have twenty four yarder that they not only get
at least three points, they might even score a touchdown
on that drive. But it ended up backing the out
and then they had a punt, but that was a
significant play. He would they would have been down there
inside the red zone instead of it back to back
out and then, like I said they couldn't survive, which
has been the case pretty consistently throughout the year. A
(28:33):
couple of texts year five, six, six nine zero. Uh,
it wasn't extreme. Ryan people just aren't ready to be
told they're wrong and smart. I don't know if I
said it like that. Just didn't like the he doesn't
belong in the NFL. I guess it kind of goes
(28:53):
in line with the and I if you guys remember
when we did this oh no, the oh the Cowboys,
they just let a kickoff go through the hands down,
it went out of bounds.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
I think they get the ball.
Speaker 5 (29:07):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
That's a weird deal. Anyways.
Speaker 3 (29:10):
So when when I first started doing Broncos React, I
had a caller call in and start calling one of
the players trash, and I said right away, I said,
I'm gonna I don't have a lot of rules for
this because I want you guys to be able to
say what you want to say. Good batter otherwise, but
you're not going to, under really any circumstance call a
(29:31):
player trash. When you consider the percentile, the smallest percentile
making the NFL let alone, playing in the NFL is
really unique.
Speaker 1 (29:41):
So I don't. I guess I kind of took it
like that, and it's it's a bit of a hot
button for me. Obviously.
Speaker 3 (29:48):
Back to the phones and Brandon in our Vada is
up next? Tear on Broncos react, what's up?
Speaker 2 (29:52):
Brandon?
Speaker 17 (29:55):
Hey?
Speaker 11 (29:56):
Ryan?
Speaker 4 (29:56):
Hey, how's it going?
Speaker 1 (29:57):
Good man? Thanks for hanging on all.
Speaker 19 (29:59):
Right, appreciate it. So, my brother's really been giving me
a lot of crap for not joining your post game,
and he's a big Gavalanche fan, so I'd like to
shout out justin for the Avalanche, big Avalanche fan anyway,
So just really frustrated with Sean Payton's play calling and
(30:31):
his personnel, so wanted to get your thoughts. I'll hang
up and listen, but yeah, just overall, what did you
think of situationally?
Speaker 6 (30:43):
Like, what.
Speaker 19 (30:45):
Play calling and personnel? What did you think of that?
Speaker 3 (30:49):
Okay, yeah, thanks for the call. I appreciate it. It
wasn't great, it really wasn't. But I mean they came
up with the plays that they needed to make when
they had to, and that sounds like a bit of
a cop out. I apologize, but me in the end,
you find a way to win and you put together
the drive you were down eleven to ten and you
needed a field goal to put yourself ahead. You'd love
to get a touchdown there because you were first and
(31:10):
goal at the nine. You didn't get that done, and
you could sort of quipple about the play calls there
in the goal to go situation. I think that they
had a run in two passes before having to settle
for the field goal. But more than anything, it just
felt like they weren't all seeing things the right way
or the same way over the course of the data,
especially in the second half, which is a bit unfortunate,
(31:32):
because there were multiple times where it did feel like
the Broncos were just going to sort of take over,
didn't it. I don't know about you guys, but I
felt like they were so close they just kept sort
of stubbing their toe on. Some really dumb penalties like
the Matt Parrott hold calls were examples, but even more so,
there was just so many times, especially in the first time,
like the Broncos would be running away with this game.
(31:55):
If I remember correctly, the Jets had like thirty two
yards of offense at half to the Broncos won seventy five.
It should have been a blowout at half, and that
has been more of the case for the Broncos. Sorry
for the Jets games this season. The Jets game seat
this season had been over more or less at halftime.
They pluck together some points in the fourth quarter to
make it look better than it really is, but that
(32:17):
game should have been an absolute blowout. If you didn't
have the Troy Franklin fumble that ended up leading to
three points or the long kickoff return that led to
three points, well, this game would have been a much
bigger win, and it would have been a lot closer.
Speaker 1 (32:32):
But special teams with the kickoff return, and they.
Speaker 3 (32:36):
Actually had a couple of nice kickoff returns today was
part of the equation. And the Broncos offense, certainly with
the fumble there from Troy Franklin, was part of the equation.
The Adulph has just converted a field goal at half times,
so that are up thirteen to nine over the Chargers.
Speaker 1 (32:50):
Good stuff there.
Speaker 3 (32:51):
The Patriots are goal to go at the one yard
line with an opportunity to go in front of the Saints.
These Steelers still lead the Browns and nine nothing with
eleven seconds remaining, but the Browns are driving there at
the Pittsburgh thirteen Cowboys go to half seventeen thirteen. Seahawks
are up ten to six in driving. I guess they
have fourth and six of the Jacksonville thirty five, so
(33:12):
probably going to settle for a field goal A ten.
We're at halftime with the Rams and Ravens all tied
up at three profits. Jim, Joseph, guys, hang on, We'll
get some more texts. On the other side. You're listening
to the KA Broncos Radio network.
Speaker 2 (33:24):
BO playfakes is the pocket pressure steps throws Ingram makes
a nice catch, hangs on to the football, takes a
mid section shot knocked to the turf at the thirty eight,
but it's a gain of twelve on second and ten
with Andre Cisco there for the Jets first first down
of the second half and a big catch by Ingram.
Speaker 3 (33:44):
Yeah, five catches forty two yards averaging eight point four
per reception. That's our fast at presented by Exfinity introducing
the five year Price Guarantee one Internet Price five years guaranteed.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
Welcome back to Broncos React.
Speaker 3 (33:57):
We still have a couple of fifty dollars gift cards
to give away to Sam's Number three Diner and Bar,
presenting sponsor of Denver Defense three and Outs Broncos React
gives away three fifty dollars gift cards each week to
listeners in Denver or Bowlder and again a little programming note.
Next week we're giving away a pair of Cowboys tickets
to one of our winners. So today just the gift cards,
(34:19):
which is feel pretty cool. But next week be listening
for that opportunity to not only win the gift cards,
but also win a pair of tickets to the Broncos
versus Cowboys. Codiac Building Partners teamed up with Garrett Bowles
and his GB three Foundation for seventy two to charity
for every Denver offensive point. Codiac Building Partners, through its
Kodiak Foundation, donates seventy two dollars to number seventy two's
(34:41):
GB three foundations supporting Colorado children, families, and veterans in need.
Today's thirteen offensive points for nine hundred and thirty six
dollars brings our total to nine three hundred and sixty dollars.
Way to go, very cool stuff there. We go back
to the phones. We got full lines and again we're
on till five o'clock so plenty of opportunity. Profit You're
up next year on Broncos react. What's a profit?
Speaker 4 (35:00):
Ryan?
Speaker 15 (35:00):
How are you?
Speaker 3 (35:01):
I'm doing great, man, thanks for calling none.
Speaker 4 (35:05):
Yeah, I'm still decompressing. Oh my good Well, I do
have to eat a little bit of crow on my
thirty four to thirteen prediction. Although there was in the
back of my mind always a chance of a game
like this. Uh, Bronco's defense, I mean really, on a
scale one to ten, they're infinity today. I mean the
only field goal they really gave up was a fifty
(35:25):
yard drive that went thirty yards. I mean, two points
goes to defense, not on the field. The field, I
mean field goals they got nothing. But with the turn
I mean, really, Broncos gave up probably about if you
really want to think of it mathematically, probably about a
point a half today, I think. And it's a great,
great win. It's one of those that you need to have,
(35:46):
and you know, and and people that are kind of
poopooing this win, which I don't want to sound like
I'm doing obviously as frustrated, like you said, thinking we'd
put them away. But if you look at teams that
have won the Super Ball over the years going back.
You know, Tom Brady and that New England Kansas City knows,
Lord knows how many clothes wins they've had. One of
(36:08):
them at least was us last year. You know, they've
won those ugly games, and hopefully our offense I think,
maybe open it up, get get bowing to some kind
of rhythm. I just I have no I have no
logical explanation how you get nine sacks and don't blow
a team out. I mean, a win is a win,
(36:29):
I get it. And we're four and two, not yet through.
I'm quoting a note, right, but you know what I mean,
like you were saying it yourself, like you just kept
waiting for the Broncos to just break down the wall,
and they just never did except for the victory and
our great defense today.
Speaker 1 (36:46):
Yeah, and that's it.
Speaker 3 (36:48):
You know, It's one of those weird deals, right where
like multiple things can be true. It's like, well I
can say, okay, well you know you've found a way
to win today, and yet it doesn't feel good.
Speaker 1 (36:57):
Right, those are multiple things being true.
Speaker 3 (37:00):
And then yeah in the offense, like the defense, I mean,
my goodness, Like, what what negative can you say? I
mean that yeah, there's a couple of mistackles. Okay, sure, yeah,
that's that that that's unfortunate.
Speaker 1 (37:11):
But when you put up a performance like.
Speaker 4 (37:13):
Down, I think we might lose the game if we
don't go for it there.
Speaker 1 (37:16):
Yes, yeah, I mean that that was.
Speaker 5 (37:21):
In there.
Speaker 3 (37:21):
No it it was a clutch moment going forward on
fourth and five. I mean that that wasn't a gimme
biting stretch. Yeah, that would that was a big deal.
Profit Thanks for the call, man, I it was a
big call. Is a big call in that moment, and
I think that we all thought the same thing. It's
like the Jets are not a very good team. You
should be going for this, you should be aggressive. And
there were times in the second half where I did
(37:41):
feel as though Sean and Bo took their foot off
the gas. And maybe that's just a vibe, a feel
there was a protecting the lead field even though they
didn't have a lead actually, but there was a it
almost felt like that right, almost like they felt like
they were protecting the future lead that they're gonna get,
Like we're gonna get a dry here, We're gonna kick
a field goal, and it's all gonna it's all we
(38:03):
need we just need one good drive and they got it.
Speaker 1 (38:07):
So you did that.
Speaker 3 (38:10):
But I can understand when we talk about the style
points of it that it just feels like there could
be more there. And I guarantee they're gonna feel the
same way. Happy to get the win. You're flying, however
many hours it takes to get back from London to
Denver right now, and they're.
Speaker 1 (38:25):
Gonna get back to work.
Speaker 3 (38:27):
It was interesting, by the way Sean said, and he
said that said this multiple times now. They requested no
bye after this game. They said they wanted to come
back and play immediately. Just an interesting choice. I guess,
I guess that's something you can put in there, the
(38:47):
word I guess. The weird part about it, so you
request that, I don't know if you know who your
next opponent's gonna be. The Giants actually kind of got
a mini buy because they played on Thursday night.
Speaker 1 (38:55):
So in a weird way, your competitive decision there.
Speaker 3 (39:02):
Is giving an opportunity for your opponent to actually have
extra days. But you probably didn't know that when you
put in that request. Back to the phones, Jim and
Idaho springs up next year on Broncos reaction. We'll get
to the text line here in a second.
Speaker 16 (39:13):
What's up, Jim, Hey, just hanging out in the hills.
Listen to you Ryan sounds good, thanks sir. Yeah, I
just look comment about the play calling, you know, Uh,
I think that could change a little bit, being more aggressive,
like a lot of people are saying, and uh yeah,
defense ship it with guys.
Speaker 3 (39:33):
Hold on, hold on, hold on, no, no, can't can't
say that even in the Hills. Jim, we can't.
Speaker 1 (39:43):
Can't. You got that one?
Speaker 20 (39:44):
All right?
Speaker 9 (39:44):
Good?
Speaker 1 (39:48):
Yeah, Hi, Ben, some people put up since really early
this morning. It's all right. I hope the Hills are
treating you a nice otherwise, Jim. Thank you.
Speaker 3 (39:57):
Joseph in Denver. You're up next year on Broncos re
Act Joseph. Keep it clean now.
Speaker 1 (40:01):
I'm just kidding. How are you good?
Speaker 17 (40:04):
How are you?
Speaker 1 (40:04):
I'm doing great, man, I'm doing great. Thanks for calling.
Speaker 15 (40:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (40:08):
You know, you know, kind of like you were saying earlier,
you know, I felt like, uh, Bayton and and Bow
were protecting you know, the lead or the future league
that they were thinking, you know, and I was having
that conversation with my wife, you know, like why are
they acting like you know, we have a two to
three touchdown lead, and you know, we're taking our foot
(40:29):
off the gas. One other thing, you know, I think,
or a couple of other things, I think bo needs to,
you know, work on his deep ball. You know, a
past couple of games. Uh, he's missed, you know, the
receivers deep whether it's been overthrown or underthrown. You know,
that's one thing that I think Bog you know, could
work on. I'm I'm probably sure. You know, he knows
that he continues to do that. That's why he, you know,
(40:50):
is the great athlete that he is.
Speaker 13 (40:53):
The defense played.
Speaker 9 (40:54):
Well, you know with the nine sacks. One thing I'm
hoping that, you know, Benito comes in and and uh
some kind of break Bonds record, even though you know,
Van is my one of my favorite all time Broncos.
But then looking into next week against New York, you know,
I just hope that Jackson Dark, you know, being the
rookie that he is and and uh, you know, wanting
(41:16):
to make a name for himself, just throws a couple
of darts to Pat Sakan for some pix. Nice.
Speaker 1 (41:20):
I like what you did there. That's good. That's good.
Speaker 3 (41:23):
No, listen, I'm hoping so too. And and you know
he played a couple of games ago against the Saints
and through multiple interceptions. So as as much as people
are very excited about the Jackson Dark Cam Skataboo conversation
and what they've done to spark the Giants offense, it's
still a very flawed team.
Speaker 1 (41:42):
It really is.
Speaker 3 (41:42):
So I'm not I'm not saying it's a walk in
the park and the Broncos should win this one easily.
Speaker 1 (41:46):
They have a really good defensive front.
Speaker 3 (41:48):
Uh, their secondary doesn't scare me too much, but their
their defensive front is very elite. They got some good
pass rushers, some young pass rushers there, but you know,
they got a little spark on the offensive side of
the ball. I'm not too scared based on that matchup.
It's more about what is our offense going to do?
Like that's my early look at it. Well, obviously you
have some time, Joseph this week to really dial in,
(42:09):
but my early look at it is, Yeah, it feels
like this is a game that they once again should win.
Speaker 1 (42:14):
Honestly.
Speaker 3 (42:17):
Yeah, all right, Hey, thanks for the call, Joseph. I
really appreciate it. Five six, six nine zero. Yes, I
know that the stream catches things. Thanks great play calling
by Vance Joseph. Last week it was Sewan this week
it was VJ zero coverage call pulsive steel.
Speaker 1 (42:35):
It's good.
Speaker 3 (42:36):
Yeah, he got aggressive, I justifiably so, right, I mean,
that's that's one of those You don't let him hang
out in the back of the pocket and do what
he wants to do. The Panthers just scored a long touchdown.
Rico Dwell just ran in against his former team against
the Cowboys, So the Caroline Panthers.
Speaker 1 (42:57):
He has a thirty six yard run.
Speaker 3 (42:59):
Caroline Panthers about to be twenty to seventeen here early
on is actually Bryce Young with a passed Rico Dawdles.
Speaker 1 (43:05):
That's pretty good stuff.
Speaker 3 (43:06):
We'll go back to the phones. Able in Broomfield is
up next year on Broncos react, what's up?
Speaker 1 (43:10):
Able?
Speaker 13 (43:11):
Hey, we're gone? Thank you for taking my call?
Speaker 15 (43:13):
Yes, sir?
Speaker 13 (43:15):
Not first like to say congratts to the Broncos. You know,
it's not not easy to win this LaDue, and he
did great. And my other off pach is you know
Ingram had a game time touchdown last week and then
he came out this week and had some pretty crucial
first down catches and you know, strike clowdle irons hot.
How come I felt like they just stopped targeting him
(43:36):
in the second half.
Speaker 1 (43:38):
Again, I'm not exactly sure why.
Speaker 3 (43:40):
I mean, he definitely got a couple of catches there
on that that drive that put him into the field
goal range.
Speaker 1 (43:46):
But you're right, he was.
Speaker 3 (43:48):
He was the one guy that that was really having
success like consistently. So there was a lot of things
that even though it felt a lot easier in the
first half, they went away from the second half they
were out of sorts and I'm you know, I had
to go back and kind of watch it. There's not
really a rhyme or reason for it in my mind.
You can tell Sean and Bo were both very frustrated,
at least from the TV copy of things, so that
(44:11):
there's something that they need to clean up for sure.
Speaker 13 (44:15):
Yeah, I mean they have a lot of good success
then it's just, you know, being a long time Bronco fan,
it almost feels like sometimes they played to the caliber
their opponent. Sure and sure, you know, just like that
last caller set, don't take that foot off the gas
and keep going.
Speaker 3 (44:30):
Yeah, I am one hundred percent with you on that,
and that was one of the and thanks for the call, Evil.
That was one of the concerns I think we had
over the course of the week on Kaoi Sports as
we were breaking down this game is and people call
it a trap game or whatever. I think as we
saw more of the concern that you're going to, as
you said, play down to the level of your opponent.
Speaker 1 (44:49):
This is an No.
Speaker 3 (44:50):
One five Jets team that's really struggling to find their confidence.
But you gave them opportunities to find their confidence today.
There's no other way to describe it, in my opinion,
found some confidence. They were able to really get under
Bonix's skin and Sean Payton, I say, as a play caller.
And then meanwhile, the offense, I would say that the
Jets offense so much got a lot of confidence when
(45:11):
you have negative ten net passing, but brees Hall had
some nice moments, some nice runs today. And then I'd
say special teams for the Jets. They definitely gained some
confidence as the game war on all right, three all three,
sep one three, eighty five, eighty five, five six six
nine zeros a kwa commisper eltext. I'm trying to get
a couple more calls in here before it took a
quick break. Gary in Kingsburg. What's up Gary?
Speaker 10 (45:32):
Not much?
Speaker 15 (45:33):
Ryan, what's up with deal?
Speaker 1 (45:34):
I'm just listen, man. We're enjoying a Broncos win.
Speaker 3 (45:37):
Broncos are looking at an AFC West where they might
be in sole position of lead after today, Dolphins are
leading thirteen to nine over the Chargers.
Speaker 5 (45:46):
Absolutely love it, love it.
Speaker 6 (45:49):
My observation.
Speaker 5 (45:50):
I could be wrong, but it feels like you talked
about the team playing down to the competition. It feels
like the coaches Sean Payton might be coaching down to
the competition as well, not wanting to expose any big plays,
holding back a lot of great plays that he's going
(46:10):
to use for Kana City Chiefs and for later in
the season. Just feels like the team is trying to
hold back from peaking early.
Speaker 1 (46:19):
Hmmm.
Speaker 3 (46:19):
It's interesting take, you know, and they're for I'll roll
with you on it for one second, because there have
been times where it does feel like maybe there's there's
more things to be unlocked from the offense.
Speaker 1 (46:31):
I mean, you've got to be careful with that.
Speaker 3 (46:32):
Let's just go with the premise for a second, because
you risk holding back early in the season to lose
games that you absolutely need in order to look better late.
That's that's a very very dicey proposition. But I do
think that there's something to that where the entirety of
the offense has still yet to be unlocked.
Speaker 1 (46:52):
For whatever version of that we're talking about.
Speaker 5 (46:55):
Yeah, it just does not feel like we're he's calling
a clean game to where he's putting the team or
the offense, and the rhythm of course, uh penelties, holding penalties,
ill procedure or off site all that kind of kills
the rhythm of a drive as well. But it just
feels like we're holding back.
Speaker 3 (47:18):
I think it's a great point, man, I mean, and again,
we won't be able to confirm that, thank you, Gary.
I mean even if you asked him, like, hey, Sean, so.
Speaker 1 (47:25):
You you got some better stuff right, it's coming right, promise.
Speaker 20 (47:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (47:32):
I think it's a good point. Though it does sort
of feel like you're not quite where you could or
probably should be. And again, I guess you have to
hold out hope that there is more, certainly, because if
there isn't more, and this is sort of what the
ebb and flow of the season, the roller coaster ride
of the offense is going to be well, then, yeah,
you are going to have a really tough time. But
(47:53):
once again, what you're doing in October, which by the way,
is Shawn's wheelhouse. He's the best coach of all time
as far as a winning percentage in October. Now to
and zer here three straight wins, which you go the
very end game but doesn't quite count of October, but
that Bengals games. Now you have three straight wins. More
in anything, though, you want to be playing full volume, right,
(48:15):
full ability in December. So I continue to look at
these games, and I said it a little bit earlier.
I continue to look at these games as as building
blocks towards that. But you got to win in the
moment when you're there. It has to happen that way.
The Chargers are driving, by the way, they're at the
Miami nineteen second and nine. The Patriots are up twenty
(48:35):
two to sixteen on the Saints, these Steelers up nine three.
We're all in the second half of these games, nine
to three over the Browns. Panthers up twenty to seventeen
over the Cowboys. Cowboys have the ball now, Like I said,
the Panthers are scored. Seahawks up thirteen to six and
driving there inside the red zone. Nice completion of Cooper
Cup for twenty nine yards and the Rams just scored from
three yards out. Kyron Williams got a touchdown, so they're
(48:56):
up ten to three over the Ravens. Derek Henry had
eighteen he's in the first half for ninety yards, so
he still got it. But the rest of the team
not so much. But the defense may be doing a
little better job today. We'll see, all right, we had
to take quick break, Max Ragid Regie sorry and room
for more. Three h three seven one three eighty five
(49:17):
eighty five. We'll right back on the kaiwe Broncos Radio Network.
Speaker 2 (49:20):
Mams takes a shot and makes the catch. He's down
the sideline and it's loose. Mems with a big play
out of the backfield on the wheel route with the
catch and run forced at a bounds by safety Andre Cisco,
but he spotted at the Jets thirty four yard line.
That is a gain of twenty six yards and a
first down for Denver.
Speaker 3 (49:39):
Marvin Mems with a big play there in the fourth
quarter got the Broncos within field goal range. They a
couple plays later got into field goal range obviously with
the twenty seven yard of the will Glets, they got
a goal to go situation. By the way, the Rams
just scored a touchdown Stafford to winning him and then
what do we have here? Got we had three touchdowns
in a row. Chargers with a touchdown Justin Herbert to
(50:00):
Lad McConkey for five yards out. Chargers are now of
sixteen thirteen. The Cardinals get a touchdown to Trey McBride,
a one yard touchdown. Jacoby Rsett looking pretty good, seventeen
fourteen lead there with a thirty nine ring. The Patriots
have to settle for a field goal even they were
a goal to go at the one yard line, and
uh yeah, that's the latest tier. The Cowboys end up
(50:21):
having a punt and so and that Seattle Seahawks, by
the way, scored a touchdown Sam Darnold de Cooper cup.
Speaker 1 (50:27):
So that's kind of what's going on. Welcome back to
Broncos React.
Speaker 3 (50:29):

Speaker 3 (50:44):
We are on till five o'clock tonight, so scall three
three seven one three eighty five eighty five. We go
back to the phones and Max in Denver is up next.
Thank you for holding on.
Speaker 20 (50:53):
Max.
Speaker 1 (50:53):
How are you?
Speaker 15 (50:55):
I'm doing well? Can you hear me?
Speaker 1 (50:56):
I can hear you? Just fine?
Speaker 15 (50:57):
Thank you all right, thanks for taking my call. Just
saw my take in observation on the game today. I
thought for the preseason, and correct me if I'm wrong.
Part of the hype about this team was that we
were developing a deeper talent pool that we were going
to be able to pull from to have deeper guys
(51:19):
on those rosters. That Am I right in that observation?
Speaker 3 (51:23):
Yeah, i'd say so. I mean I think that that's
the mindset for almost every team. You know, you don't
really know about your death until you have to test it, right,
so you.
Speaker 1 (51:31):
Think you have it? Go ahead?
Speaker 15 (51:34):
Yeah, I get I guess this is where my question is. See,
those players should be playing the special teams, and I
think the special teams have been a weakness on the
Broncos this season. We saw that game in Indianapolis. I
know that was one play, still a special team's play
that lost us the game.
Speaker 13 (51:54):
We saw.
Speaker 15 (51:54):
The special team has become a factor today. Are is
this team not as deep? Is is we were led
to the beat when it's really our backups and our
second team guys going against them. Is that a wrong take?
Or are we not that that deep in developing that talent?
Speaker 3 (52:14):
I you know, it's a good question, Max, I do
appreciate the call. It's a good question. I hesitate to
say that it's a test of their depth. To me,
a lot of this feels like coaching, right. You did
change special teams coordinators, so maybe.
Speaker 1 (52:31):
There's a little bit of a ramp up time.
Speaker 3 (52:34):
I guess maybe to getting all of that on the
same page. But I haven't seen from what I'm watching
of this team, I don't I don't feel like it's
a talent issue on special teams. It seems more like
a coaching thing. Not trying to call out Darren Rizzy specifically,
but for some reason, things like that penalty you brought
(52:54):
up there in the Colts game, that's not a because
you had too like rotational defensive lineman right there, and
they decided to switch positions last second. And even Darren
Rizzy said, we would have called time out if we
had a time out at that moment because we didn't
want them to do that. But whatever reason, they decided
to do that and then ended up leading to the
(53:15):
leveraging penalty. So stuff like that, And you know the
kickoff coverage, There's there's good players out there. There're just
some special teams captains, like guys that have been special
teams aces.
Speaker 9 (53:25):
You know.
Speaker 3 (53:25):
Trick Sherfield, for example, is a coveted special teams guy
around the league. The Broncos getting him, I thought it
was quite the coup in the offseason. So the same
thing with Justin Sturna as another like special teams as.
There's some really good special teams players there. So I
think it's more of a coaching thing personally. Jim, And
for Collins up next year on Broncos re echoes up.
Speaker 12 (53:46):
Jim, Yeah, Hi, I just wanted to call in and
say I'm really proud of the team today for winning.
Going on the road to London is not easy, you know.
And Cee NFL you know, everybody's good. I was just
think King Supers and these guys were kind of like,
oh yeah, barely won. And I'm like, man, be proud
(54:07):
of the team. Like it's hard to win in the NFL.
You know, it's not easy. And I just see a
lot of people kind of complaining A four and two
is a great place to be in week six, And
I don't think that we have anything to complain about.
Defense wins championships, you know, Aaron Glynn probably it's a
(54:27):
greater for Detroit. So, I mean, it was a slow
scoring game and it comes to mind as the Ravens,
two thousand Ravens. Boy, ladies and gentlemen, So put on
your seat belt. It's gonna be a great year. And
I believe in this team and we can go far.
Speaker 1 (54:41):
I dig it.
Speaker 3 (54:42):
Thank you, Jim appreciate it. Yeah, And there's some people
that share the sentiment with you. We've had quite a
few callers and textures today that are very happy about
the end result. And more we're looking at the end
result than the style points of a discussion on what
what they.
Speaker 1 (54:58):
Could or should have done.
Speaker 3 (55:00):
By the way, till on the tongue about lowedg just
threw an interception to the Chargers who are leading and
now have the ball in field goal range. So not great.
There to a we need you to be better. Not
a thing I thought I'd have to say today, But
there are there are a lot of Broncos fans that
feel the same way, that are are just happy to
get the win. A couple of texts here we want
(55:22):
Frank Crumb, I don't think you do. Sorry, it's Sean
Toberfest Ryan. That is correct. This is what he does.
October He's the best in the league in league history. Hey,
Ron explained why when the Jets fumble the past the
Broncos picked up the ball, they reversed and said no,
(55:42):
a third down in complete. It was exactly how Broncos
did earlier, and they gave the fumble the Jets. Yeah,
you know, I went off on that too earlier. I
feel the same way. But I did have a lot
of quite a few people texting in saying no, no, no, no,
that was the right call in the field either the
way they reviewed it. So there's only so many things
you can do at that point if they review it
and say no, it was not he did not complete
(56:05):
the catch. He didn't make a football move, then that's
what it is. I don't know else to say. I
agree with you.
Speaker 1 (56:13):
It felt exactly the same as Troy Franklin's fumble, but
the league viewed it differently.
Speaker 3 (56:19):
Imagine a fan base who has its franchise quarterback the
second highest paid coach on Earth, and his specialty is offense,
and he can't make our franchise quarterback look decent. We're
never going to talk about how massively bad Sean is
relative to his pay, or are we going to say
bo is trash relative to an actual franchise quarterback who's
(56:39):
about to turn twenty six. I don't know if I
agree with really anything you said there. You said a
lot of words. I will give you that. I don't
think Sean is bad. I think he's turned around this
franchise for what they were with Nathaniel Hackett. There's a
core competency to the way they go about things, and
(57:00):
there's a standard, at least in how prepared they're going
to be.
Speaker 4 (57:04):
Now.
Speaker 1 (57:05):
Is it going to be pretty every single game?
Speaker 20 (57:06):
Now?
Speaker 3 (57:06):
Because that's what the league is, you know, I it
was so predictable, then it wouldn't be fun. By the
way the Chargers just scored, Vidalgis scored, So the Chargers
now up a couple of scores would be about ten points,
I think, when everything's said and done, over the Dolphins.
Speaker 1 (57:23):
So I give Sean credit for that.
Speaker 3 (57:25):
I think he's worth every penny when it comes to
raising the core competency of this team. And then with Bo,
we're talking what a season, not even a season and
a half of play. Yet there's going to come a
point where we're going to say we have to know
what bo Nicks is and then we can't really lean
on the Well, he's still young in the league. You're right,
(57:47):
he's an older quarterback coming into the league. But I
still think that there's time to work through some of that.
I still think that I'm going to give him that
time to develop and figure things out. I don't think
we're or I lean closer to and maybe this isn't
for everybody. I lean closer to him being the franchise
quarterback than not, and it's a heavy lean, but I
(58:11):
get the sense as often as I've done this show
and Broncos react, and then of course Kaoe sports with
Dave that there are some people still on the fence
and not in on it, and don't believe that he
is that or has shown that or will be that.
It's a little bit of a different prism for everybody.
But where I'm at now, I guess and it doesn't
(58:33):
have to be for everybody. Where I'm at now with
Bonnicks is what other choice do you have? Feel whatever
you want to feel. But it's not like there is
another option waiting in the wings that's better, that offers
a better upside at the position.
Speaker 6 (58:48):
Now.
Speaker 3 (58:48):
You could talk about offseason and maybe a couple of
years from now looking at quarterbacks, all those kinds of things,
but as we sit here today, the Broncos don't have
a better option on their roster than Bonnicks. And that
is a fact. You can't dispute it.
Speaker 1 (59:03):
You just can't.
Speaker 3 (59:05):
Let's past ten seconds for a station identification, and you're
listening to the KWA Broncos radio network.
