Speaker 1 (00:00):
PS two joining us here. You're on with Nate Jackson
and Ryan Edward's good to chat with you, my friend.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
How are you? I'm good, I got doing We're doing great.
We're getting excited about this game.
Speaker 1 (00:08):
I know you've been blasted with a thousand questions about
this receiving course, So here's one more I want to
just ask you, man, I mean, you know what the
talent is. Is it a function though, because you guys
have faced high end level talent wide receivers already. Is
it a function of just how well Dak Prescott specifically
is playing, mixed with how good these guys are winning too.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Yeah, I think it's a good mixture.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
Uh. I think they play off each other. Well, they
feed off each other. You know, Dak trust them guys,
and the receiver receivering court trust Deak as well too.
So I think it's a mix of both, you know,
obviously that's why they're so successful this year, with you know,
Dak relying on those guys to make plays down the field,
and know sort of receivers trusting Dak, you know, to
(00:55):
put the ball in a perfect position that allows them
and aables them to make them play down the field.
So you know, when I look at it on film,
I see a lot of camaraderie and trust on the field, So.
Speaker 4 (01:08):
Pat you never know how a referee crew is going
to call defensive pass interference holdings and stuff like that.
Riley Moss got a pretty ticky tack call throwing against
him in a really crucial point in the game.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
How do you, guys, if you do it all prepare for.
Speaker 4 (01:22):
That during practice, how do you deal with these inconsistent
reps and the way they call games?
Speaker 3 (01:29):
Uh, you know, we understand, you know, through parts of
the game. Uh, you know, it's a physical football game.
So we know flas gonna come. But you know, I
feel like some of the fans thrown last week were
pretty egregious.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
Just talking about the righty flag.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
I think he made the perfect play that allowed him
to get in that position. I mean, I don't see
what he did wrong. Like, if you want to do
a teach tape on how to look back for the
ball and play the ball, that's what we did. And
you know, obviously they called it otherwise. But you know,
I don't think that allows us to, you know, change
the way how we play. You know, we're gonna go
(02:09):
out there and play physical guardess no matter what the
cause may be or how they may feel about it.
But you know, obviously, looking at it, I think they
made a bad call on the end, but you know,
I mean I think we never lost hope on it.
Obviously they scored, but you know, we ended up kicking
the field goal for the game winning drive.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
What was it like being part of a game like that,
especially there in the fourth quarter, right? I know that
you were asked about it and you said that you
kind of lost a little bit of faith there. But
in the end, you just you know, you go back
to work and you you go out there and you
keep playing. But just after the fact, a couple of
days later, as you're thinking about it, what was it
like being a part of a game like that?
Speaker 3 (02:48):
Shoot, I didn't know what to think, what to believe.
There's a point throughout the game, Well I lost hope,
Shame on me. But it was like the second half
we was down nineteen zero. I think they got the
ball and scored again. Then they had the tip pass
for the touchdown and I was like, man, the football
guys are not on our side today.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
But I looked all.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
Around, man, we never lost confidence you know, we stayed composed,
stay with it, keep chiming in making adjustments. Then you know,
we we made the players that we needed to make
towards the end and critical situations, and you know that's
when we started to gain momentum and that I think
propelled us to win in that game.
Speaker 4 (03:33):
Incredibly emotional game. Everyone who was there will remember it forever,
as you guys will. How do you approach moving forward
after an emotional game like that, learning from the mistakes
you made but also appreciating the moment that you guys have.
How long does that linger into the next week? Do
you talk about it on Wednesday at all? Or is
it just Monday? And then move on?
Speaker 3 (03:53):
Yeah, it's one of those games where you know, obviously
you appreciate the win, but you know what I mean,
we also had a lot of corrections of mat but
you know it's the one thing, Tass, look at the film,
move on and get better, you know, on to next week,
because we know we've got tough of challenges ahead, you know,
even bigger games ahead. So we can't sit in Douyle.
(04:15):
You know in that moment you gotta move on. Understand
we want but also know that is bigger games ahead,
especially in this stretch coming.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
Forward, no doubt about it.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
Passer ten joining us here as he typically does every Friday.
Last couple here for you really appreciate it. So back
to this game against the Cowboys, and again, you guys
have played some high powered offenses.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
You know already is there is there a bit of a.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Mindset on defense because we've been asking the offense all
week like, hey, keeping pace and all those kinds of things. Defense,
You guys don't want to give up single yard, but
you know, when you're playing a team like this, there's
gonna be some a bit of allowance for that, I imagine,
knowing that they're gonna find some ways to get win.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
So how do you stay present with that?
Speaker 3 (05:00):
Yeah, I mean, you know, obviously they're pros, you know
what I mean. They're playing at a high level. Were
playing at a high level. It's gonna be a battle.
Like I said, it's gonna be back and forward going on.
But you know, we gotta find a way to eliminate
explosives and eliminate the mental errors on our end. We know,
you know what type of offense they got, They got
(05:22):
a lot of dynamic playmakers on each side. But you know,
we got playmakers on our side too, so you know
we're looking forward to that battle. You know what I mean.
They gonna make plays. We're gonna make plays.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
You know what I mean. It's gonna be a full.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
Quarterball game and the only thing that matters, matters is
getting that W. After the game, we'll look up with
the clock to zero. Uh, you know we see a
W on our end. So so bad.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
Drake Greenlaw how came back last week was on a
little bit of a pitch count. And uh, but can
you talk a little bit about what you guys saw
on film of what Dre did do when he was
in there.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
Obviously he's gonna be with you.
Speaker 4 (05:59):
Guys this week, but just what he brings to the
defense when he is in there.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
Yeah, I mean he brings a lot of leadership, a
lot of veteran presence.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
You know, he's been.
Speaker 3 (06:10):
Playing at a high level consistently, and he's a dog man.
You know, when you've got a guy out there you
know that's physical, brings that presence, you know, I mean,
he goes around and here, folks, It brings a lot
of energy towards the defense. And obviously he's a spended
this week, so you know what I mean. We can't wait,
(06:30):
you know, to have it back next week.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
I Pat, it is now time for the Children's Hospital
Colorado kid Caster and is presented by your Colorado Buick
GMC dealers. Visit your local GMC dealership today and experience
the full Sierra family lineup.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
This week's question is from CJ. Hi, my name is CJ.
Well you do it? I sound it fine?
Speaker 3 (06:52):
I love you when.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
Yeah, there you go. All right, So the question is
what do you do for fun?
Speaker 3 (07:00):
What do I do for fun? I do a lot
of things, man, you know. I travel in my free time.
I love traveling around the world, across the globe, get
to experience that on a different level. I just spend
time with family, play video games. So I'm pretty simple myself,
you know what I mean. But I'm always good for
(07:20):
the adventure.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
So well, now you're doing some podcasting. I love your
rant by the way this week on the Riley Hospital, man,
that was outstanding.
Speaker 3 (07:28):
Oh yeah, you ahead of let them know.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
It's great man.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
All right, Pat, we appreciate you. Best of luck on Sunday.
We'll chat with you next week.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
All right, thank you?
Speaker 1 (07:37):
All Yeah, I appreciate it Passer tam joining us the
mindset of a defensive player. Like for offense, as you know,
it's about scoring points, right, it's about being efficient on offense,
doing what you're supposed to do, finding ways to getting
the in zone. The type of thing of the defense,
it's the exact opposite, right, stopping every possible squeezing the
(07:57):
life out of your opponent, like not letting them get anything, sacks,
takeaways if you can, but you don't want them to
ever score a single point if you can't. But then
you're playing a team like this and you just know
they're gonna find ways.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
So you are the what they are.
Speaker 4 (08:12):
How do you know, well, in this here we go, Ryan,
is the huge opportunity. Come on, it's the it's the
flag planting moment of this defense or the opportunity. And
so when you're vance Joseph, you're standing up there in
front of these guys and you're saying, everyone is saying
exactly what you just said. You're gonna give up thirty.
I mean, it's gonna happen. These guys are so I mean,
(08:36):
they're played at a high level. They're the best offense
in football is Ceedie Lamb, It's George Pickens, It's Ferguson,
it's Javonte, it's Doc. Come on, I mean, you guys
don't have a chance.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
Now.
Speaker 4 (08:48):
If the Broncos defense finds a way to shut these
guys down and hold them to ten points, flag planting moment,
now we can really start talking about this defense as
the best in the league and potentially a Super Bowl
caliber defense defense. And so I'm looking at this as
(09:08):
a real opportunity for this defense to kind of look
because everyone thinks that even though no one's saying this
isn't a good defense, everyone's saying, this is a very
good defense.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
But you can't stop the Cowboys they're playing that.
Speaker 4 (09:20):
Well, yes, you can stop the Cowboys, and if you do,
you're gonna turn a lot of heads. If the Broncos
are able to shut down the Cowboys offense and put
up there, maybe they win thirty to ten. This is
a super Bowl kind of conversation that happens very quickly
around here.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
I love that, man. Listen to you.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
Fire me out there.
Speaker 2 (09:38):
You know what I'm saying. There's some people out there
on the fence not anymore. No, it's done. If you
miss Nate Jackson just now telling.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
Us that this Broncos defense is going to shut down
the Cowboys offense.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
Then you need to get your checks. That was awesome,
do you go? Well? Thanks? I like that.
Speaker 4 (09:55):
It has to be the mindset of this defense. You
cannot and look a different conversations have in the offensive
room too. Oh sure, you know, we know how good
this Cowboys offense is, so we got to take it
upon ourselves to take some pressure off the defensive score,
you know, thirty forty points. But the defense is talking
to each other like, let's shock the world here, let's
(10:16):
let's shot them down. I actually have something for that.
And at four o'clock, I'm gonna tell you. At four o'clock,
I will
Speaker 1 (10:22):
Tell people exactly why I think they have a good
chance of doing that.
