Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome back to a power field that mile Hi, Dave Logan,
Rick Lois, SUSI ward you with you. Susie is on
our way into the locker room. We'll carry coach Sean
Payton's postgame press conference coming up, and I'll also have
a chance to visit with quarterback bow Knicks. Broncos went
at forty four to twenty four over the Cowboys. The
performance of the game goes to RJ. Harvey. Had seven
(00:21):
carries for forty six yards. Two of those were rushing touchdowns,
one from forty yards out, and he also had a
catch for five yards that was a touchdown as well,
So three touchdowns for the rookie RJ. Harvey today. The
performance of the game presented by Shop BMW. Just like
the Broncos, a BMW plays in any weather with industry
(00:41):
leading X drive all wheel drive technology. The lineup of
BMW sav vehicles is the most Colorado capable vehicle lineup
and the only place I trust with my BMW is
Shop and you should too. Shop BMW one price, one person,
one hour, well ahead of the text and let's see
(01:08):
one seven bo Nicks in the eighties uniform looked like
John Elway at twenty five at these uniforms I love,
but I'm old school. I love the old uniforms.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
I like all the old school uniforms too, just like
you three.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
Oh three, nine oh nine, Dave, you called the pregame,
you said we'd get multiple turnovers this game. You're the best.
How about Tillman's pick and return? Love listening to your
broadcast via iheartradiou that is Broncos diehard fan Steve in
South Carolina. Appreciate that, Steve, uh seven seven eight, Let's
(01:43):
go Broncos. Do you think the amount of points scored
in today's game was more of a reflection of the
play calling or just a really bad Dallas defense to
play more vertical today than usual. That's from Mike and Pueblo.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
Well, we knew going in that the Cowboys had a
bad defense that also was really beat up going into
the game, and they lost a couple of players during
the game, So not really surprised. I thought the Broncos
offense would have a breakout game today and they did.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
Nine two eight six four two twenty four hours ago.
Dak Prescott is on a hot streak today. Prescott binched
after Denver's lead is insurmountable. And I really live in Prescott, Arizona.
Go Broncos. You know where that is?
Speaker 2 (02:25):
I do, yep, it's the north west of Phoenix. By
about ninety minutes.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Seven two oh three to three, eight, great team win,
Sean Payton masterclass. Hope sir Tan is okay able to
go next week. But it was good to say Chris
Abrams drank kad Chris Abrams drain step in and not
miss a beating. Go Broncos. Yeah. I think that, uh,
that is going to be a great interest how pats
(02:50):
er Tan is uh moving forward. Came out of the
game injured his leg early, went back in and then
there was a play that he was involved in a ten.
He got up and he moved his arm in kind
of a peculiar way. I noted that on the broadcast.
Then he came out and never came back in, So
we hope he's going to be fine.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
He did get hurt earlier in the game to a
lower body injury, and Abram Strain got some good experience
here today. He was second on the team in tackles.
He did have eight tackles in the game.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
Let's see some of our We just have to refresh.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Seven two five, one night, a complete game from the Broncos.
Finally five O five, four to four. Oh, the young
pups really came through. Harvey, Franklin and Bryant. Yeah yeah,
Franklin a second year player, Harvey and Bryant rookies. Jade
Barron had his first career interception, another rookie, So that,
I mean, youth was served today, I think by the Broncos.
(03:58):
Good to see.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
And as that texter said, we've been waiting for the
Broncos to put it together on both sides of the ball.
It took but eight weeks and they finally did it.
Let's hope that's a good sign moving forward here for
the second half of the season.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
Three three eight two eight. Hey, David, learn something today
about John Keyworth being your roommate. Did you sing? Did
he sing to you? Great calling as usual? Hashtag make
those miracles happen. No, John came up with that song
when he was a member of the Broncos, right when
the Broncos were going to the Super Bowl and I
was only roommates with John. He got stuck. I think
he must have drawn a bad card. But as a
(04:39):
freshman I was John's roommate on the road travel games
for for the Buffs for football, and what was he
John would have been, oh boy, sophomore or junior, so
he was supposed to watch over you on the road.
Maybe that's maybe, maybe that's you know what at this
point that many years later, I'm gonna go with that.
(05:01):
It sounds pretty good. Three zero three, five on five
after today's great performance on both sides of the ball.
Do we think any trades we made before the deadline?
What do you think?
Speaker 4 (05:12):
Rick?
Speaker 1 (05:14):
You know what?
Speaker 2 (05:14):
This week, going into this game, I thought the Broncos
might be interested in a veteran wide receiver if they
could get one at the trade deadline, But today you
had Troy Franklin step up. Pat Bryant gets a touchdown
catch as well. I'm gonna say probably No. I think
we better hope that PS two's okay moving forward. He's
(05:35):
the key to this defense because you know he's gonna
lock down that one side of the field. We need
PS two down the stretch for sure.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
Yeah, And they play do the Broncos next Sunday in Houston?
They come home, then on a short week, face the
Raiders at home and then have ten days to get
ready for another home game, and that would be against
the Chiefs, and then they have a bye. So I
think the schedule is shaping up nicely for the Broncos.
(06:04):
At this basically the halfway point of the regular season.
They played eight games. They have seventeen, so they still
have nine games left, but they've taken care of home field.
They haven't lost a game at home, and today I
think was their most complete game of the season.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
Nine home wins in a row. That's the longest active
streak in the NFL, seven two, three to two.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
Oh, David Rick, I can't believe Benjamin Albright picked the Cowboys. Well,
I mean the Cowboys. There were a lot of people
that picked the Cowboys. I mean, matter of fact, everybody
on the ESPN pregame show picked the Cowboys except Teddy Bruski.
He was the only one out of the whole group.
Sean Payton's press conference right here, we did a great
(06:51):
job at the.
Speaker 5 (06:52):
Line of scrimmage. So are run numbers are past numbers.
All of it was kind of lopsided. So proud of
how we played coming off of last week's when those
analytics are pain when you look at them and I'm
glad we addressed it at the start of the week.
It's a mistake I made years ago not talking about it,
(07:16):
and we just discussed it and they, you know, they
you know, they did the same thing when we were
discussing the road game before London.
Speaker 4 (07:26):
So good win, any questions.
Speaker 6 (07:28):
A lot of good obviously offensively, but r J. Harvey
three touchdowns to get Pat Bryant one too. What do
those guys just mean, not only today but as rookie
sort of going.
Speaker 5 (07:37):
For a lot of production from the rookie class. Maybe
they've read someone's article. I don't know, but you had interception,
touchdowns were set. I mean, it's great to see them
moving getting the experience. Sometimes it's more difficult, but you
know Jday had the interception right before the half that
(07:59):
was a big play.
Speaker 4 (08:01):
Pat, All of it was good.
Speaker 5 (08:03):
It's hard to predict sometimes when you're putting yours play together,
our video, our video guy, Joe Harrington. We do a
hotel tape at night. In the last like eleven plays
are plays that I think are touchdowns and he basically
gave me the fight song of everybody that was a
(08:24):
skilled player, you know, And so we saw a play
that we thought Trout might score on we heard the
Dayton fight song and we before the play and so
that they know that, and.
Speaker 4 (08:35):
We saw Central Florida.
Speaker 5 (08:37):
None of the players knew the name of their fight
songs except Memes. But anyway, it was good to see
those guys have success.
Speaker 4 (08:46):
Cutshier left.
Speaker 7 (08:47):
When you have a performance like that, what does it
say to you and the team about the offensive potential
and kind of what this group came forward.
Speaker 5 (08:54):
And the thing, the biggest thing, I thought the work
week was uniquely different, and I thought they handled that
challenge of that coming off of a crazy comeback challenge.
The numbers are awful, and so I'm glad we addressed
it at the start of the week. Leaving the stadium
(09:16):
Sunday last week, you know, I remember reaching out to
Tony and I said, I want the I want the
analytics five minutes, you know, the whole and then Joe
Harrington literally put it in a sixty second film every
one of those events. And then the following week, you know,
the other team taking a knee, And so our guys
(09:36):
saw that right away and they met the challenge and
they played well.
Speaker 8 (09:42):
John, how do you think Adram's train and the others
sort of handled losing defensive player of the Year.
Speaker 5 (09:47):
Yeah, I thought pretty good, pretty good. Proud of them.
You don't like to see that happen. You'd never know
when a player goes down, the next man is up.
I'm not going to discuss any of the players that
were injured at all, but I was proud of the
guys that had to go play when someone went down.
Speaker 9 (10:07):
Coach forty four points is most points scored. Were there
any game balls given out after the win?
Speaker 1 (10:12):
Since it was a really big one.
Speaker 5 (10:15):
So it was the first time we had the Battle
of Arkansas between the Jones family and the Walton family,
So Carrie and Rob got the Battle of Arkansas game ball.
We'll have a chance to look at the tape, but yeah,
they ownership has been great and.
Speaker 4 (10:36):
It's a good win. It's a good win.
Speaker 8 (10:39):
I'm Sean, can just talk about what you thought were
some of the keys and slowing down the NFL's number
one offense.
Speaker 4 (10:47):
Yeah, fair question.
Speaker 5 (10:48):
I thought, you know, it's hard to sack him, but
I thought we affected him. I thought we affected him and.
Speaker 4 (11:00):
That was important. I thought.
Speaker 5 (11:07):
A red zone defense, forcing you know, the very quick
sudden change, you know, forcing.
Speaker 4 (11:12):
A field goal.
Speaker 5 (11:13):
I thought those those were important plays for us, and
then I just didn't think they could keep up with
what we were doing. So I had said to the
defense periodically, can you guys keep up with us? And yeah,
(11:33):
I thought it was a pretty one sided game.
Speaker 8 (11:37):
Seohan, you talked a lot about how Bill Parcels used to,
you know, tell you about how there's multiple ways to
win a game, and.
Speaker 4 (11:43):
Yeah, it's interesting. I didn't. I didn't.
Speaker 5 (11:48):
You come, you come to the stadium, you have your
work week, and I didn't.
Speaker 4 (11:53):
I didn't know how the game would unfold.
Speaker 5 (12:00):
I loved the fact that we took one of the
top defenses in football against one of the best offenses
and we won all right on that side of it,
and then the other side of it, it wasn't close.
So I was proud of our defense. We challenged them like, hey,
this is we'll get a chance to see. You know,
we're not playing maybe some of the teams we've we've
(12:23):
had prior.
Speaker 10 (12:25):
But they responded Sean, maybe it's a little thing because
lots of backs will take the snap, but when you've
got a guy that grew up playing quarterback, does that
give a little extra level of security to a wildcat
snap for Harvey.
Speaker 4 (12:37):
Yeah, it's been in for a while.
Speaker 5 (12:39):
We had an handful of plays today that have been in.
Sometimes plays stay in because they still fit, So that's
been in quite a while. Our Jay's third down call
has been in for like five weeks.
Speaker 4 (12:53):
It's a man's zone read. We put him.
Speaker 5 (12:54):
Outside of the tight end, we saw the linebacker, we
climb him back in and so there some of those
plays that you're like, all right, I think can come
off the call sheet.
Speaker 4 (13:03):
You know, you've just been running them.
Speaker 5 (13:05):
But yeah, clearly he's comfortable getting a snap. And you
know when when you take the quarterback and someone leaves
to cover them, then you kind of get your numbers back.
You know, you're really playing ten on ten.
Speaker 11 (13:23):
Yeah, Sean Dallas was last in the league in defense,
and plus they had a lot of injuries.
Speaker 9 (13:28):
Did you go into this game think.
Speaker 5 (13:29):
Wanted to keep the last You know that we went
into the game, we recognized the injuries. There's a lot
of injuries, you know, on our team throughout the league.
That was unimportant to us. We just went in the
game focusing really on what we do, what we do well,
and yeah, there were a handful of plays that Troy's
(13:53):
touchdown was matchup driven, boundary corner shoot. I think he
was teammates with Bow and Troy at Oregon at one point.
Speaker 4 (14:04):
That's part of the game.
Speaker 9 (14:06):
Hey, coach, you just mentioned Troy Franklin. I want to
ask about him another big day. Was that more of
a exploiting a mace match for him?
Speaker 5 (14:13):
Or just continued his last touchdown was whiplash. It really
is hard to go into a game and say I
think such and such as you know, it's hard to
predict that Courtland or there are all these different opportunities
and they just unfold sometimes in a certain way. In
(14:39):
that video last night, though there were two or three
Oregon fight songs, there were two or three s m
you you know, the whole the whole group of them,
and it's just hard to under It's hard to predict
how how it comes out.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
Just sewn.
Speaker 6 (14:54):
Just the efficiency that Bo operated with today. Do you
feel like he was in I mean through the pick
on the first.
Speaker 5 (14:59):
Yeah, that look he just his feet got away from
him a little, but you know, he bounced right back.
Speaker 4 (15:04):
He played. He was magnificent. You know, he was outstanding. Okay,
all right, thank you.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
So some of Sean Payton's press conference as we wrap
up our coverage here at in Power Field at mal
High with the Broncos beating the Cowboys today forty four
to twenty four. The injury reports got a few more
guys on it than honestly I would like to admit.
But it's presented today by Common Spirit Health, the official
health care partner of the Denver Broncos. And as you've
(15:37):
heard Sean Payton say, he doesn't want to answer any
questions whatsoever about injuries, and so we will just tell
you who we know came out of the game. Some
of these guys are able to go back in. Some
did not go back in. Patzer Tan had a lower
leg injury and returned from that, but then had a
shoulder injury of some sort and did not come back
(16:00):
from that. That obviously would be a huge loss. DJ
Jones was evaluated for a concussion, but he returned. Nate Atkins,
another sort of Swiss Army knife kind of player, full back,
tied End, a guy that is really versatile. He left
the game with a knee injury of some sort. He
did not come back. And Marvin Mims on one of
(16:22):
the last returns, took a pretty good shot and was
taken out of the game. I don't believe he came
back in either, although that was late in the game.
He was being evaluated for a concussion. So that's the
injury report to give you tonight. We await quarterback Bo
Nicks in the Broncos locker room. I'm told we'll have
(16:43):
him momentarily. The Broncos today averaged seven and a half
yards per play, which is an extraordinarily high number, second
highest since twenty and sixteen. Right head down and Susie
Warrison standing by with the guy who caught his first
NFL touchdown today. That's Pat Bryant.
Speaker 12 (17:04):
Yes he did, Thanks Dave. So yeah, first NFL touchdown?
Speaker 1 (17:07):
Pat?
Speaker 12 (17:07):
How did that feel? And it's been a few weeks
here that you've been waiting for that one?
Speaker 13 (17:11):
Right?
Speaker 7 (17:11):
I felt amazing, man, just honestly just staying on humble managers,
waiting on an opportunity, and I kind of had a
feeling it to come this game, So really just going
out there when the ball came out, I mean, I
was looking forward to making the play.
Speaker 12 (17:22):
What gave you that feeling? There were six touchdowns in
this game and at Doctor de Troy after the game
here said everybody ate, which is great, and it's finally
you are It's good you are too.
Speaker 7 (17:30):
I mean, just the week of practice, we had one
of the best week of practices I've passed this I've
been here. Honestly, just going through that preparation bo getting
the ball to everybody in practice, I kind of knew that.
Seawn even told us like this is the game was
gonna start fast.
Speaker 4 (17:41):
We started pretty fast.
Speaker 7 (17:42):
So just going out there, everybody did their job, everybody
got to touch the ball and came out with a dub.
Speaker 12 (17:45):
What was different And Sean just got done with this
press conference talking about last night when you guys were
in the hotel and what he was doing with fight
songs and things like that. It's been a different week.
Speaker 7 (17:54):
Yeah, yeah, I mean we talked a lot of different
things this week, bro, and just you can kind of
feel in that meeting last night that everybody was I
had a lot of confidence in the play calls that
we're going to be called. And really, I mean there
was a lot of people name is going to be called,
you know when it came to making big plays, and
a lot of us answered when our name were called.
Speaker 12 (18:08):
All right, congratulations, thanks Kat, very good day. Back up
to you.
Speaker 1 (18:12):
Wow, Susie, thank you. Yeah, great. You always remember the
first one. I can tell you that Pat Bryant will
remember that touchdown reception that he had from bow Nicks.
Speaker 14 (18:23):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
That was a twenty four yard touchdown reception into the
west corner of the north end zone. Last couple of
texts before we wrap things up here. Let's see seven
to two. We just refreshed two one, three, five oh nine. Hey, Sean,
(18:44):
that was the worst defense in the I made that
forty four points happen? Uh, three h three nine five six,
Holy mackerel, Dave definitely in northern Minnesota, Michigan reference the
mackerel is wholly up there. I said that last week, right,
you did? Okay, I don't remember you saying it today,
but I don't. I don't think I did. That's an
old school saying seven to five six, Oh. Great, all
(19:06):
around team win, but penalty is still a huge issue.
Uh seven three to two, Oh, Sean does a great
job of not letting reporters finish their question. Geez okay, Uh,
Susie Wargen is standing first, be answering the sack.
Speaker 12 (19:22):
Out all right, Zach, you got the only loan sack
and everybody's also he's been talking about how many sacks
this team has but not enough getting the turnover's got
a couple of those today too. With your guys talk
about going up against this number one offense. You did
a great job today against him.
Speaker 15 (19:35):
Yeah, I mean obviously that last touchdown at the end
kind of want back, but you know, give him a
lot of credit. I mean there was a lot of
focus in the building today and it translated the game day,
so it was great.
Speaker 1 (19:46):
Yeah, I mean two.
Speaker 15 (19:47):
Sacks is obviously, Uh, you'd like more, but you know
it's really good. I mean we knew all week. I
mean they the money is on that offense, you know,
from a wide receiver line, quarterback, running back standpoint. So
really proud of the guys, and you know, we just
got to keep on building off of it.
Speaker 12 (20:04):
I forgot about JFM sack that woud seem like it
was forever ago.
Speaker 15 (20:07):
I know, Yeah, we really got him at like the yeah,
first and fourth son, it's uh, I love JFM. Rushing
with him is the best. He's He's incredible, man. He
really honestly, he's my brother.
Speaker 1 (20:18):
For life.
Speaker 12 (20:18):
A lot of talk about your old toimate teammate Javonte
coming in. He's a second leading rusher in the NFL.
You guys did a great job with him. What was
it like seeing him today and going against him and Dak?
Speaker 15 (20:27):
I love Javonte, man, He's he's one of the best
human beings ever. I was super fortunate his locker was
next to mine, as you know, So seeing him half
success this year has been incredible. Obviously, you know, we're
lucky he didn't have too much success against us today.
But you know, everybody in Denver should be really thankful
for Javonte for his time and what he did for
(20:48):
the community, everything like that. And yeah, we have nothing
but love for Javonte.
Speaker 12 (20:53):
In the AFC West, going on the road for one
quick game feels like a pretty good spot to be in. Yeah.
Speaker 15 (20:57):
Yeah, this nice little homestand is great. Obviously, you know,
we had some crazy travel stuff. So yeah, no, we're uh, yeah,
Houston's not too bad of a flight, you know.
Speaker 1 (21:10):
Obviously it's going to be a tough game.
Speaker 15 (21:11):
You know, last time we were there it was a battle,
and so yeah, it's going to be tough, but we're uh,
you know, we just got to regroup and get back
on the horse again.
Speaker 12 (21:22):
Zach appreciate you. I know I need to get in
the shower, so thank you much. Be sure, all right,
Dave back up to you.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
Yes, sous he look at Zach getting the shower for
crying out loud.
Speaker 10 (21:29):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (21:29):
Broncos won it forty four to twenty four. We're going
to take ten seconds so that stations can't identify themselves.
Good to have you with us. This is the KOI
Broncos Radio Network.
Speaker 16 (21:37):
BO.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
It's Dave Logan. You guys. You know, last week we
talked about the great comeback in thirty three points in
the fourth quarter, had trouble getting anything going to the
first three quarters. You guys after the first drive looked
like you you were in high gear for most of
the game. What what was the difference to you?
Speaker 17 (21:55):
Well, I think, you know, simply put, we were able
to convert some second and third downs and then continue
to extend drives over and over. And when you do that,
you can methodically move the ball.
Speaker 15 (22:05):
Down the field.
Speaker 17 (22:05):
And you know, I just felt like in the past
we haven't been doing that lately, but today we did
a good job of staying on the field.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
Yep, you got the running game going. JK went over
one hundred yards. You had four touchdown passes. It's the
third game in your short career that you you've been
able to do that. And you know, Franklin gets a
couple and Pat Bryant gets his first touchdown reception of
his career. That's one he's always going to remember. I
can guarantee you no doubt. You know, those guys are
playing well for us.
Speaker 17 (22:32):
They try to clout Courtland's side, they try to do
their best to take him away, and the other guys
are making plays. And that's what you got to see,
especially down the stretch. You know, early in the season
you want to get those guys going. But now those
guys are really playing well and they're playing smart. They're playing,
you know, in rhythm. They run a good routes, catching
the football, making guys having to guard them, and that's
(22:53):
tough when you have three that are they're spacing out
the field and catching passes.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
You know, I'll get you out of here on this.
Off the top of my head, I was thinking Evan
Ingram's kind of quietly jumped into this thing. He looks
like a guy that you trust and makes good catches,
good decisions with the ball after he catches it. I
mean he looked like a competent veteran receiver to me
in the last three or four weeks.
Speaker 17 (23:16):
Yeah, no doubt. And he's you know, just like Courtland.
He's just been there, done that. He makes critical catches
in certain times. They just have to guard him differently
when he's on the field, so we get different coverages,
and you know.
Speaker 16 (23:27):
He makes plays.
Speaker 17 (23:28):
I missed himong Insie Fay that could have been an
explosive touchdown. I got a pi faning Inness. But you know,
he's just a guy that's going to continue to get
better and him and Courtland are doing really good job
as far as the experienced ones allowing those younger guys
to play behind him.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
No doubt about it.
Speaker 18 (23:42):
Bo.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
Enjoy this one. We'll see you this week.
Speaker 17 (23:45):
Thank you so much, cabroncos.
Speaker 1 (23:47):
You bet Nix. As I mentioned, four touchdown passes today,
it's his third game with four touchdown passes in his career.
The only quarterbacks that have done that more in the
first two seasons of their career. More than three games
with four touchdown passes in the first two seasons of
their career. They've got the names Mahomes, Marino Tarkington, Deshaun Watson,
(24:10):
Lamar Jackson, and Carson Wentz. So pretty good company for
the young second year quarterback Bo Nicks. We Look Ahead

Law Firm is on your side. Berg Simpson Good Lawyers,
(24:57):
Changing lives. Here's what's coming up for the Broncos. The
division leading Broncos. They are six and two in the
AFC West. Next Sunday, the Broncos will be on the
road facing the Houston Texans. Texans got a big win
today at home against the San Francisco forty nine ers
and Houston is three and four, So the Broncos and
the Texans in Houston next Sunday with an eleven a m.
(25:21):
Mountain time kickoff and then a short turnaround. For sure,
the Broncos will be back late Sunday night and Thursday
night the Raiders roll into town, a first match with
the Raiders this year. November sixth Thursday night kickoff right
here in power Field at mile high six point fifteen
kickoff the Broncos hosting the Raiders. Well rick final comments.
Speaker 2 (25:45):
Well, Denver finally put it together in all three phases
of the game, and they had a balanced attack today
on offense, twenty nine passes, twenty eight runs, They forced
two turnovers, shut down the Cowboys run game. Dak pre
Scott probably had his worst game of the year, maybe
worst game in a long time. Broncos were five of
eight on third downs. Seven and a half yards per
(26:09):
play is what they averaged in this game today. So
this is a big confidence builder, especially for the offense.
And the only negative today was they did get some
injuries today and they've been a really healthy football team
so far this season. Pats er ten is the one
that we're both most concerned about, and hopefully he'll be
(26:29):
okay and can play next week in Houston.
Speaker 1 (26:32):
Yeah, I'm a if not next week, hopefully he's not
going to be out a significant amount of time. We'll
just keep our fingers crossed on that one. Certainly, when
we find out, we will let all of our listeners
know that. Will do it. From in Power Field and
Mile High. A good day indeed for the Denver Broncos
as they beat the Dallas Cowboys by a final score
of forty four to twenty four. The Broncos, after eight
(26:55):
games this season, are six and two. They have a
full one game lead over the Los Angeles Chargers in
the AFC West four. Susie Wardson, my partner Rick Lewis,
I'm Dave Logan. We head back to the KOA Sports
desk and check in with Ryan Edwards.
Speaker 9 (27:11):
Appreciate Dave.
Speaker 8 (27:12):
Great call as always, again, you know, sort of a
complete game. We've been asking forward for most of the year,
and I think there were some people kind of a
defense about how the Broncos might show up against the
Cowboys considering how good that offense is. But man, really
all three phases showed up and played big today as
pretty impressive.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
Yeah, they I thought this was their most complete game
of the year. I mean, you get a big kick
return by Mems. I thought the defense harassed Dak Prescott
and wasn't like Dak wasn't on a roll when he
came in. He did three consecutive games of three or
more touchdown passes, hadn't thrown an interception, only three interceptions
on this season in the first seven games. He throws
(27:49):
two today, So yeah, I think complete game. Dobbins goes
over one hundred, Nicks has four touchdown passes. They're right
where they want to be after starting one to two,
right five and secutive victories and now hopefully they get
a good injury report from this game and can head
to Houston relatively injury free.
Speaker 9 (28:09):
Look forward to breaking down with you tomorrow three o'clock.
Speaker 1 (28:11):
My friend, great call, sounds good. Ran, appreciate it all right.
Speaker 8 (28:13):

to twenty four, and really wasn't that close. Kind of
a garbage time touchdown there from Milton to Tolbert, but dominant,
dominant all three phases. The rookies had a big day,
and boy, you know all the people that were sort
of on the fence about what the Broncos were gonna be,
what they're gonna.
Speaker 9 (29:14):
Look like versus Dallas.
Speaker 8 (29:15):
A lot of people thinking the Dallas Cowboys, We're gonna
come into town and embarrass the Broncos. And it was
quite the opposite, all sorts of really fun layers to
break down with this, and we'll of course do that
over the course of the evening. But again three h

the surging Texans who had a really big win today.
So again, want to hear from you reel three seven one,

Speaker 1 (30:15):
Line them up.
Speaker 8 (30:16):
We'll get to them on the other side. We'll be
right back on the KWA Broncos Radio network. That's a
first touchdown there, forty yard touchdown from RJ. Harvey, who
ended up with three touchdowns on the game. Very very
impressive stuff the rookie class. Three touchdowns from RJ. Harvey,
a touchdown from Pat Bryant. You had an interception from
Jade Baron. There's a lot of growsing, I think from
(30:36):
Broncos fans about this rookie class.
Speaker 9 (30:39):
We'll see how they respond after that.

first year on Broncos Rewards.
Speaker 9 (31:00):
What's up in?
Speaker 18 (31:02):
Hey, guys, great to be on the show. I always
tell us every time I call you guys that I
love our current ownership. They're the best I will also
say that one of the biggest traves seas in NFL
history is that Jerry Jones went into the Hall of
Fame before Pat Bowen because Pap Bowen is one of
the best owners and here he's history of sports and
he didn't go in that year and then he passed away,
(31:23):
and so he didn't go in when he was still alive.
And I will never not forget that because Pat Bollen
is one of the best owners in sports and the
fact he can go before Jerry Jones is absolute choke.
So I'm sorry to have to bring that up, but
that's unbelievable and I won't forget it. Uh, everyone wanted
George Peyton gone when he gave Russell Wilson the Albatross
(31:43):
contract to rus Wilson. But guess what, guys, the dude knows.
Speaker 1 (31:46):
How to draft.
Speaker 18 (31:47):
And you guys been talking about it and I've been listening,
and the kids are all right. So had Ardent Harvey
with three, Pat Bryant with one, Troy Franklin with two,
Jude Baron with a pick, and then how many years
of the NFL our quarterback been in?
Speaker 3 (32:04):
So two?
Speaker 9 (32:05):
Yeah, we got not even two full years.
Speaker 18 (32:07):
Yes, A second year quarterback. Right, So we're doing just fine,
and the draft picks are on fire, and I love
the direction this team is heading. And I give him
my my little brother was born on October sixteenth, nineteen
eighty five. And the Broncos trounce the Raiders, so he've
never seen us lease with the Cowboys and I absolutely
(32:27):
love that stat. And we trounced him again today, which
is another reason that Pat Wances have been in before.
Jerry Jones and guess what the kids are? All right,
guys and Bonix and the rest of the guys, Let's
do it. We got a crew. Let's go go Broncos.
Speaker 9 (32:40):
Diggityon.
Speaker 8 (32:40):
Thank you so much for the call. Appreciate that. Three
or three seven, three eighty five eighty five? Yeah, Now,
Dak Prescott owens three versus the Broncos, with his team's
being outscored one sixteen to fifty seven. Broncos have his number. Alex,
You're up next year on Broncos react with Ryan Edwards.
We'll get to the text line here in the second.
What's up, Alex?
Speaker 19 (33:00):
How are you doing? Ryan?
Speaker 9 (33:01):
I'm pretty good.
Speaker 8 (33:01):
It was It is a rare moment, Alex to not
have a roller coaster fourth quarter where we can just
sort of sit back and enjoy it and soak it up.
It never really felt, I mean, other than the interception
at the very beginning of the game, never felt like
this one was in doubt.
Speaker 19 (33:15):
Oh yeah, right, I agree with you. I feel like
this game was just excellent. And one thing I like
is that we got our first first down on their
opening drive to start a drive. But I thought that
was great, and we're starting to drive through drive down
the field. So we did that all game long and
I loved it. And I liked how bo Nicks we
started to use his legs a little bit more in
the first half. I liked to where he rolled out
a lot on play action and gun formation to the
(33:36):
right or to the left to get open guys downfield.
And I like how Franklin and Bryant Evan Ingram. There's
one thing I know it's Ryan, is that on a
third and eleven we converted on a first down. Is
like in the third quarter, I mean, Evan Ingram was
opened down the middle. I can see why people are
calling my joker. And I like how we're starting use
I understand we've got four catches for thirty nine yards,
but Evan Ingram is getting out there to make explosive
(33:58):
plays and we have a tight now, which I love that.
And I love how JK. Dobb is over one hundred yards.
He did amazing on offense, and I love how Harvey
he's doing amazing. They run, young guys are doing good,
and George Panning can scout and also Vance Jrosis isn't
at probably the best defensive coordinated right now in the NFL.
I'm all nervous for the offseason. Hopefully he doesn't get
a head of coaching job, but he deserves it. And
(34:20):
this is just an overall well executed game. Everything schematically
was perfect, and we when we played the ball two times,
and I say this, I understand that Patrick's Thetancer. I
hope he can come back, but people, I feel like
we need to give more respect to Rylan Moss. I
understand the two passing experience today, but he's only had
allowed thirty nine percent before this game of his past
(34:41):
is completed on his side, so that's something to talk about.
I mean, he's just an excellent corner a.
Speaker 8 (34:46):
Beast, completely agree. Yeah, I mean he gets a lot
of flak. He gets the ball thrown at him a lot, right,
I mean that is certainly part of it, Alex, really
good call. Man as always appreciate that. And it's tough
when you're in your target that much. The first one,
as far as the DPI and the end zone here
or in the second one was a terrible call. It
just was so But you got a reputation when you're
(35:09):
Riley Moss. But I'll tell you what, man, this was
that game where you were kind of concerned a little
bit about Riley Moss and about these corners hanging with
these star receivers.
Speaker 9 (35:21):
A couple things I want to point out.
Speaker 8 (35:22):
First of all, Jake Ferguson might be the best tied
end the league, or at least in the conversation for
one of the best tight ends in the league. Zero
catches today on one target wasn't even a factor. George
Pickens seven for seventy eight, Ceed Lambs seven for seventy four.
Speaker 1 (35:40):
You take that.
Speaker 9 (35:41):
I take you, guys before the game.
Speaker 8 (35:42):
If that ends up being the stat line and zero
touchdowns for both guys, you'd be like, you know what,
I could kind of live with that.
Speaker 9 (35:49):
The longest reception was CD for twenty nine.
Speaker 8 (35:53):
That was at the beginning of the game, and George
Pickens had a seventeen yard catch in there. Both of
them average round ten yards per catch. That is phenomenal.
That is absolutely phenomenal for the Broncos today and that
defense way to go.
Speaker 9 (36:05):
A couple of texts here before we go back to.
Speaker 8 (36:07):
The phones, ask Doom and gloom all Bright how he
feels about his predicted Broncos loss. Yeah, he wasn't feeling
good about this game and he did pick against him.
I'm sure he'll have something to say about it tomorrow
night in Broncos country tonight, can we hold Pin's feet
to the fire?
Speaker 9 (36:20):
Wow? A lot of hate for Ben right off the top.
It's funny.
Speaker 8 (36:25):
Let's see here, a great win, just phenomenal play calling
on both sides of the ball.
Speaker 9 (36:29):
Great call. But mister Logan, what a day by the
rookie class.
Speaker 8 (36:31):
Three touchdowns for Harvey and a touchdown for Pat Bryant,
an interception for Baron. Great game by this rookie class.
PS two's injuries of great concern. Let's enjoy this on
with a PSL. Nice like that Nate Dogg called it. Yeah, man,
give give him credit. You know it's funny. I texted
him right after the game, Nate Jackson, who does Fridays
with me on k Sports, and I texted him because
(36:53):
I told him that Dak Prescott historically struggles against the Broncos,
and though he's been playing on an MVP level, it
wouldn't surprise me if he had a bit of a
down game, and of course he did. I mean, you're
talking about his final stat line one hundred and eighty
eight passing yards, zero touchdowns in two interceptions. That's a
down game for Dak Prescott by a wide margin.
Speaker 9 (37:14):
So it was funny.
Speaker 8 (37:15):
And then he texted me He's like, hey, I predicted
that the Broncos defense would show up and blow this
team out. It's like, glad that you did that too.
So we both kind of had a little bit on that. Uh,
great win. Phenomenal play calling into.
Speaker 9 (37:28):
That one already, Ryan, what a great win. Thanks for
all you do.
Speaker 8 (37:31):
Can't wait for Ben to wet blanket this.
Speaker 9 (37:35):
What he text on bid I love it, listen. Ben
has earned that.
Speaker 8 (37:39):
And even after he was tweeting about he's trying to
give credit to me. He's like, well, this was the
worst defense in the league, and he said that during
his O the pregame stuff, He's like, well, if you
can't win against this defense, then I already know what
to say about this offense. I'm like, see' that's what
I'm saying. You set this thing up, and I love Ben.
I don't think he understands how that is a bit
of a negative take. It's funny, though, Katie fast nickname
(38:03):
out of Kansas City.
Speaker 9 (38:04):
What's up your next? Toime Broncos reaction with Ryan Edwards.
What's up?
Speaker 2 (38:08):
Yeah?
Speaker 20 (38:08):
Ryan? Hey, First of all, I just want to say
tonight's going to be a real easy night for you
because everybody that's going to call in is going to
be thrilled. But I've heard you in the past and
you took some shit.
Speaker 8 (38:22):
I mean no, no, no, no, no, no, no, yeah, dang it, man,
I wanted to hear the rest of that. I really
wanted to hear the rest of that. Maybe you can
text us five six six nine zero. But once you
once you curse one time, we can't.
Speaker 1 (38:39):
I can't.
Speaker 9 (38:39):
Sorry.
Speaker 8 (38:41):
Back to the phones and logan, what's up, Logan? Keep
keep it clean?
Speaker 13 (38:48):
Yeah, I got you, This is Elliott, And then my
logan's run next to me.
Speaker 9 (38:52):
I have a question.
Speaker 13 (38:53):
Wide receiver drops have been a problem for us. Do
you I see this team of super good tenders, the
only stactor is the wide receiver drops. Do you think
it could be a big factor later on the season.
With this game we were good, but the past few
games we just like expected to d balls and stuff
like that. Do you think that's a big factor going forward?
Speaker 9 (39:14):
It's important.
Speaker 8 (39:15):
I mean, you're third in the league in drops, so
to say it doesn't matter it would be false, right,
But to say that you can survive some of it,
especially if you increase your margins by playing complete football
in so many other ways, especially running the ball as
well as you did today, I mean that that's going
to help you surviving. Me at one hundred and seventy
nine rushing yards averaging six point four per Kerry, I'm
(39:36):
not going to say that's going to be every single
k every single game, but you're going to help that
cause a lot. The issue of the drops. It's like, Okay,
well that's not such a big deal because you have JK.
Dobbins ripping off twenty yard gains at a time. So yeah,
it's a problem, but it's something that you can help
with a good run game and obviously good defense and
special teams too.
Speaker 18 (39:58):
Okay, thank you so much.
Speaker 9 (39:59):
Yeah, all right, thanks appreciate that.
Speaker 8 (40:01):
All right, back to the phones and profit you have
next to our broncos react, what's up?
Speaker 9 (40:05):
Profit?
Speaker 11 (40:07):
Six and two?
Speaker 6 (40:07):
Baby?
Speaker 9 (40:08):
Six and two? Was there ever a doubt?
Speaker 3 (40:10):
Two?
Speaker 9 (40:10):
Was there ever a doubts?
Speaker 18 (40:11):
No?
Speaker 11 (40:13):
No, no, what about a question?
Speaker 6 (40:15):
I mean?
Speaker 11 (40:16):
And it was so wonderful that we didn't have to
go into the fourth quarter wondering what was going to happen.
It was clear long before the fourth quarter ever started. Now,
I want you to imagine a world two weeks from
now where we are eight and two going into the
(40:37):
by eight and two going into the buy.
Speaker 8 (40:42):
Well, now, hold on, I think, because you need another
game in there, because they got Houston Raiders and the Chiefs,
so they.
Speaker 11 (40:49):
Got and nine and two going in there. You go
nine and two going into the buy. When that happens,
not if when that happens, we are permanently going to
assign a Maytag repairman to Benjamin's dryer. The blankets can
(41:09):
never be wet again. If we're nine and two at
a bye, that's.
Speaker 8 (41:13):
Fair, but you know him, it's gonna be allow the
raiders are terrible, and you caught the Chiefs on an
off day, and you know, the Detexans haven't been that great.
Speaker 9 (41:22):
Over the source of the seat, you know how he's
going to do it. That's a compit.
Speaker 11 (41:26):
Oh, I know, but I'm going to park a mainteg
repairman at his apartment.
Speaker 8 (41:32):
I feel an endorsement coming on. I feel an endorsement
for Ben coming on.
Speaker 1 (41:35):
Exactly.
Speaker 11 (41:36):
You'll find a way to monetize that.
Speaker 9 (41:39):
Yes, he will.
Speaker 8 (41:40):
He will profits a great job on your parts. They're
cheered it on and I imagine for you as well.
It was it was nice to not have a stressful
fourth quarter, just to enjoy it. It was.
Speaker 11 (41:51):
It was when I'm trying to keep the crowd riled
up during the fourth quarter, it's a little less frustrating
when people are just like, yeah, we don't need to
make any more noise. We've already got this in the back.
Speaker 4 (42:02):
Yeah.
Speaker 9 (42:04):
Absolutely appreciate you.
Speaker 1 (42:06):
Man.
Speaker 9 (42:07):
Good night, man, all right, good night. Back to the
phones we go, and Carrie.
Speaker 14 (42:13):
To let you know this was a sweet victory for
the Broncos. And last Sunday I was there when we
barely beat the Giants, and I mean a win is
a win, and bone Knicks, like I say, is getting
better and better all the time. We have to admit
(42:36):
she's getting better and we have to be patient with
him and patients must have her perfect work.
Speaker 9 (42:47):
Well said. I like that.
Speaker 8 (42:48):
Appreciate the call Cary to the text line for a
second Ryan. Great game by the Broncos today, most complete
game by far. The biggest difference with the offense today
was the limited use of the screen. It was great
to see more downfield passes and not screen pass it
every other play. The run game was very good. We
still need less drops by our receivers, but it was
a much more exciting game to watch because of the
lack of screen passes. Mike from Westminster, Yeah, I mean
(43:09):
there were fewer screen passes. It did feel like they
saw on film that they could really go after this defense,
and you saw that early on. So different game plan
for this defense than we've seen all season. And so
make of that what you will. I mean, I guess
the Cincinnati game was a little bit like that too.
And remember they use the screen pass as a way
to sort of supplement the run game at times. No
(43:32):
excuse because sometimes it does feel frustrating, but that's an
example of why the screen game works the way it does.
That being said, yeah, they went after this defense and
deservedly right love you guys. In Kae Sports Daily listener
Gab and Mailman, I appreciate Gabe a blot out and
statement game from the defense.
Speaker 9 (43:52):
Nate Dogg called it. Yep, he's been gonna come on.
I don't know. I'll check with Ben to see if
he wants to come on.
Speaker 1 (43:58):
He may. I don't know.
Speaker 9 (44:00):
Again, he'll move the goal posts. We'll see, but I'll
ask him.
Speaker 8 (44:03):
H Hu's relief to see special teams playing well today.
Hopefully they've turned the corner moving forward to Ben take
the Cowboys because Schottenheimer is his.
Speaker 9 (44:13):
Best bread. I've assuming that's what you be. Yeah, you know,
I don't know.
Speaker 8 (44:17):
I you know, I think Ben just thought and I
can I can see where Again, the logic is, the
Cowboys offense has been lightening up.
Speaker 9 (44:26):
Everybody just has.
Speaker 8 (44:27):
So when you talk about the Broncos' strength is their
defense that they've had. They've had some tough games even
against mediocre offenses.
Speaker 9 (44:36):
And I include unfortunately the Giants in that.
Speaker 8 (44:39):
Before Giants fans to get upset with me, I'm just
saying that's that's kind of what you've been so you
just wanted to know that they could do it against
a really good offense, and this team wanted a.
Speaker 9 (44:48):
Complete win like that.
Speaker 8 (44:51):
All right, back to the phones, then we'll take a
break here just a little bit. But Mike in Davenport
is up next year on Broncos React.
Speaker 16 (44:58):
What's up, Mike, Hey, Ryan, how are you doing tonight?
Speaker 9 (45:01):
I'm great, Thank you so much for calling in.
Speaker 16 (45:04):
Hey join a great win tonight.
Speaker 19 (45:06):
Hey.
Speaker 16 (45:06):
I know there's been a lot of talk tonight about
the skill players and all the things that were accomplished
today and the rookie touchdowns. But I live here in
the heart of Big ten country, so I follow my
Big Ten players, being a broncomaniac that I am, And
no matter what happened today, Riley Moss is still the boss.
Just a little shout out to Riley. Nice to see
(45:28):
Pat Bryant from the fight in the line. I to
get that touchdown. But the guy who I want to
really give a shout out today is Alex Polchowski. I mean,
nobody's talking about the offensive line and what he did
to come in at left guard today, and you know,
the fact that he wasn't mentioned on television, and he
wasn't mentioned about giving up a penalty and no sacks,
(45:50):
and he just played a rock solid game and coming
into that situation, I just want to give a shout
out to a guy who is in the trenches and
working his butt off.
Speaker 9 (45:59):
Well, say, I like that great call, Mike, appreciate that.
Speaker 8 (46:03):
Three oh three seven one, three, eighty five eighty five

Speaker 9 (46:57):
Very cool stuff.
Speaker 8 (46:59):
And of course Garret bol joins us on Tuesdays at

you have an opportunity.
Speaker 9 (47:04):
