Speaker 1 (00:00):
There was an opportunity to back the Broncos up and
make it a second and fifteen. I believe that would
have been correct. Instead, they declined the penalty and leaving
a third and five. But I mean again, you know
whatever you're you're thinking, maybe the clock, I guess, I
don't know, but they were going to Joe Milton anyways
after that touchdown, so maybe they just wanted to get

(00:23):
get out of there, get it over with, go ahead,
go ahead, score another touchdown on us. I mean third
and five versus second and fifteen.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
I mean, they hadn't stopped anything at that point anyways,
but nice, nice touchdown, passed the hat trick for r. J.
Harvey had two rushing touchdowns and receiving touchdown. Pretty good
stuff there. Welcome back to Broncos React on Ryan Edwards
Ron till nine o'clock. So if you want to give
us a call three er three seven one, three eighty
five eighty five or five six six nine zeros or
KWA Comma Spirit Health text line. I'm live from the
Smash Burger Sports desk with the new four ninety nine

(00:52):
menu featuring the single All American Burger single Deluxe Burger
and the new Americana Big Dog. Let's hear from Boonix,
who was a joined with Dave Logan following the game,
and that is presented by Dan Kaplis Law, a serious
firm for serious cases.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
Well, it's Dave Logan, you guys. You know, last week
we talked about the great comeback in thirty three points
in the fourth quarter, had trouble getting anything going to
the first three quarters. You guys, after the first drive
looked like you were in high gear for most of
the game. What was the difference to you?

Speaker 4 (01:24):
Well, I think, you know, simply put, we were able
to convert some second and third downs and then continue
to extend drives over and over. And when you do that,
you kinm meathotically move the ball out of the field.
And you know, I just felt like in the past
we haven't been doing that lately, but today we did
a good job of staying.

Speaker 5 (01:40):
On the field.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
Yep, you got the running game going. JK went over
one hundred yards, you had four touchdown passes. It's the
third game in your short career that you've been able
to do that. And you know, Franklin gets a couple
and Pat Bryant gets his first touchdown reception of his career.
That's one he's always going to remember. I can guarantee
you no doubt.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
You know, those guys are playing well for us. They
try to clout Courtland's side, They try to do their
best to take him away, and the other guys are
making plays. And that's what you got to see, especially
down the stretch. You know, early in the season you
want to get those guys going. But now those guys
are really playing well, and they're playing smart. They're playing,
you know, in rhythm. They run a good routes catching
the football, making guys have to guard him, and that's

(02:22):
tough when you have three that are they're spacing out
the field and catching passes.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
You know, I'll get you out of here on this.
Just off the top of my head, I was thinking
Evan Ingram's kind of quietly jumped into this thing. He
looks like a guy that you trust and makes good catches,
good decisions with the ball after he catches it. I mean,
he looked like a competent veteran receiver to me in
the last three or four weeks.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
Yeah, no doubt, And he's a you know, just like Courtland.
He's just been there, done that. He makes critical catches
in certain times. They just have to guard him differently
when he's on the field, so we get different coverages,
and you know, he makes plays. I missed him inside
Fay that could have explosive touchdown. I got a PI,
thank goodness. But you know, he's just a guy that's
going to continue to get better, and him and Cortland

(03:06):
are doing really good job as far as the experienced
ones allowing those younger guys to play behind.

Speaker 3 (03:10):
Him, no doubt about it. Bo and Joey this one.
We'll see you this week.

Speaker 6 (03:15):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
Go Broncos.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
All Right, good stuff there from bow Nicks, quarterback of
the Broncos, joining voice the Broncos Dave Logan after the game.
That interview along with Troy Franklin, Pat Bryant, and Zach
Allen Susie Warden. Those are all on demand at KWA
Colorado dot com or on the iHeartRadio apps. You can
check those out whenever you'd like to. The Packers are
driving and they just got into field goal range, so
we'll see what they end up doing here if they

(03:37):
can kick a field goal before halftime. We had a
touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers to DK Metcalf, just a
little bit of go to pull ahead sixteen to seven
over the Packers. So should be an entertaining second half
here on Sunday Night Football three oh three, Set one
three eighty five, eighty five five six six nine zeros
or KWA Common spry Hill text line boy got a
lot of texts here. Let me see if I can

(03:58):
read a couple of these before we hit the break
for just a second. Here, Ryan, a few notes from
the game. I think the Broncos did did better this
game regarding penalties overall. Plus the second interference call on
Moss was lame. For the first time in a while.
Both found passing lanes and didn't have all of those
batted down passes. That's a great observation. It's a really
good observation there, Todd. Broncos finally had a running back

(04:21):
over one hundred yards, is the second time this year
for JK. Dobbins, which is cool. Luckily Cross Shaws shank
punt wasn't an issue. Finally, George peekaboo Pickens needs to
dump that lame celebration. Yeah, I mean George Pickens again,
We mentioned earlier se would catches the same thing with
CD Lamb. He said, if I told you guys that
Pickens is gonna get seven, CD is gonna get seven,

(04:43):
and then really very few explosives. I mean, you had
the one twenty nine yard completion to CD at the
very beginning of the game, but that was kind of
the longest one of the day that I take that,
and especially if you're not gonna allow other guys to
get loose, that was the biggest deal Gavonzi Williams. Of
the two rushing touchdowns, those were both the one yard line,

(05:03):
so you didn't have He didn't break any long runs.
In fact, as longest runs for nine yards on the day,
So you didn't give up explosives to one of the
most explosive offenses in the league. You more or less
help them in check that way. And then of course offensively,
you did everything you wanted. Fourteen points in the first quarter,
thirteen in the second quarter, and fourteenth in the fourth quarter.
We've been looking for a complete performance from the offense,

(05:26):
defense and special teams, but the offense you wanted not this. Hey,
it's a barren waste land for a couple of quarters.
And then all of a sudden you find your footing
and then you're able to score thirty three points. I mean,
that's nice when it happens, but it's not sustainable scoring fourteen, thirteen,
three and fourteen. That's where it's at. That's good stuff
right there. All right, we will continue. We're gonna take
another quick break here. We'll be right back on the
KWA Broncos radio network again. A chance, hopefully get a

(05:48):
chance to talk to Andre Tillman this week and sort
of ask him, is that a moment like you felt
like you could go the distance and hearing chariots of
fire while running? That's that's what I was thinking about.
I was like, all right, let's go get all that horse.

(06:09):
Broncos are due for a pick six. They really are.
It was like, we're right there for that three all three, seven, one, three,
eighty five, eighty five, five, six, six nine zeros or
kwe commas spirital text line Sean Payton earlier on how
well the rookie class performed for.

Speaker 7 (06:22):
A lot of production from the rookie class. Maybe they've
read someone's article. I don't know, but you had an interception,
touchdowns or set I mean It's great to see them
moving getting the experience. Sometimes it's more difficult, but you know,
Jday had the interception right before the half. That was
a big play. Pat all of it was good. It's

(06:42):
hard to predict sometimes when you're putting yours plan together.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
Yeah, and then as Sean went on to talk about
a little bit about how they had fight songs for
each player as far as some of the play calls,
I thought that was kind of cool. That was good
stuff from Sean Payton. And that's presented by Ramos Law
Doctor Lawyer partner find out what makes them better at
ramoslaw dot com. All right, so three or three seven,
three eighty five eighty five or five six six nine zero.

(07:11):
Still getting text about Ben Ben Albright and the doom
and gloom stuff. He came on earlier. I did ask
him and he I don't know. He seemed seems in
pretty good spirits overall, said the blankets dried today. Speaking
of Pickens, Ryan does in the NFL have some kind
of kind of embellishing or flopping call. He had one

(07:33):
of the first corps that would have made any soccer
player proud. That's from Matt. Yeah, he does that and
he does sell those kinds of contact fouls kind of
always has. But he's also like this unbelievable, you know,
freak of nature athletes, right, And this was the concern
about his matchup today, Like, regardless of who's going to

(07:55):
be covering him, is he just has this sort of
inate ability to contort his body unlike any other receiver
I know in the league. So I think part of
that's just his style. And because you built up that style,
that's just what people see. They see a guy that
that finds a way to impact the game. John in
North Carolina, I tell you what, John, I thought our guy.

(08:18):
I thought our guy McMillan had that ball in the fumble.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
How are you Man?

Speaker 5 (08:22):
I did to man. I'm doing fantastic.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
Ryan.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
How are you doing, Buddy, I'm doing good. You know,
it's funny you don't want Jivante, another North Carolina guy,
to do well against you, but we're obviously rooting for him,
and so a couple two, you know, a couple of
touchdowns tonight is fine as long as the Broncos got
the dub exactly.

Speaker 5 (08:42):
It's like Benjamin said, you know, we all still love Javante,
but we don't want him to do good when he
comes to Milehouse City. I'm glad we don't we getting
him to forty four yards or whatever. But I didn't
get a chance to call in last week. The line
was just just busy as all get out. But as

(09:04):
you know, I was into my O High City. I
met Bronco Babe and Prophet and sunder Chief and all
those guys about seven years ago, and they said, come
out to a Bronco game. You know, I've been to
three or four by now, and I finally got a
chance to come back last week. And what a reunion
it was. Getting tailgate all day with those guys and

(09:28):
listen to the calling show and just I mean, they're
just incredible people. When I was telling the guy that
answers the phone the service you guys do to people
in North Carolina everywhere you know, around the world, you
just don't know. But real quick, before I get into it,
you said you told Benjamin wet blanket all right this

(09:50):
week and warning off the shows. You said, I'm trying
to save you. And he said something like, man, I'm
so wet, just let me drown. And I just about
ran off the road.

Speaker 8 (10:02):
Wasn't that but anyway, Uh, yeah, I thought.

Speaker 5 (10:05):
The fumble was a fumble recovery. But I thought our
defense played good. I like the WAYE to Kwan celebrated
John A. Barron's interception. You know, sometimes when you're a competitor,
you might take my job, you know. You know they
kind of preseason, you know, they were like, was J. D.

(10:27):
Barron going to take Javonte's job? No, We're going to
keep both of them, you know, And so it was
good to see the way he congratulated his teammate for
the interception. But I thought Sean Payton's play calling to.

Speaker 8 (10:40):
Day was really really good.

Speaker 5 (10:43):
And yeah, the other call called in tonight about the
offensive line. You brought that up this week, Ryan, about
maybe we do need to go out and maybe get
another piece or two on offensive line just in case
we do have an injury. But enjoy your show. I
love you man. The show you did last week was fantastic.

(11:05):
And I asked the guy that answers the phone, if
you guys are going to put the on the podcast
the fourth quarter Dave Logan replay again because I tried
to find it today. I had an obligation Friday night.
I couldn't listen to it live over here in North Carolina.
But anyway, I'll hang up and listen to the rest

(11:26):
of the show. Man. Love you, buddy.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
I appreciate you too, John, Love you too.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
Man.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
Thanks for the call. And unfortunately it's sort of like
league rules, we're not allowed to do that put that
up on the podcast like that. But it was cool
to be able to replay it the way were able to,
and we had a lot clamoring for it. It was one
of those deals that people wanted to relive that fourth quarter,
and I'm just grateful Dave Temperu does a wonderful job
here for us as a program director. He made the call.

(11:53):
He said that we just have so many people asking
about that, and he put it on a Friday night,
and boy, we had a huge response to it. So
thanks for the call, John, and thanks for listening, Man,
and thanks for the compliments as well. I'm glad you
got a chance of what a game to be here
for last week against the Giants. I mean, my goodness,
come all the way out here from North Carolina. And
then that fourth quarter, a historic fourth quarter, de Marius

(12:15):
Thomas going into the Ring of Fame. Pretty tremendous stuff.
Let's past ten seconds for station identification. You're listening to
Broncos React on the KAW Broncos Radio Network.

Speaker 3 (12:24):
Broncos How Boys, I'm the official home of the Denver
Broncos Ko Way Denver A.

Speaker 1 (12:31):
Ninety four to one FM. I'll get back to the
text line here in a second, but we have people
on hold, so let's get to a couple more calls
before we take a break. And we got skellets. What's
up Skillets?

Speaker 2 (12:44):
Hey? Uh, you think Houston will be a tough game.
I don't doubt that, depending on how banged up certain is. Yeah,
you think he's gonna play?

Speaker 1 (12:54):
Yeah, I really don't know. They're calling it a shoulder
injury right now, so we'll end up seeing I mean,
maybe they decide to not put him back in because
they felt like the game was in a pretty good position.
So I'm not sure, but we'll have to find out.
They didn't give us any information after the game.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Well, they need to sit in for two games. So
he's ready for Kansas City and so if Sir Tan
don't play, I'm guessing Denver is gonna be an underdog
in Houston one point maybe right now Kansas.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
Right now, the Broncos are favored by one and a half,
just as a heads up on that.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
Really, yes, okay, and when we play Kansas City in Denver,
Denver probably be an underdog too.

Speaker 1 (13:43):
I think it sort of depends right on the how
the next couple of games go. You assume the Chiefs
will win tomorrow night. I guess against Washington, especially with
Mark Smarriota. I had to look at their schedule over
the next couple of weeks. But your point's valid. I
think at that point it'll be pretty close. But if
the Broncos are on Lit's see, they're on a five
game winning streak right now, so if they scratch off

(14:06):
you know, Houston and Las Vegas, so go to get
to a seven game winning streak. I don't know. I
think at home they might be favored.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
Okay, Well, they need certain for that game because he's
gonna clock that race car driver. And I'm not talking
about clocking him with a stop watch. Somebody who's gonna
clock him right in the head with him more arm
and side.

Speaker 1 (14:32):
Thank you, Skillett. It's not a postgame till we hear
from skillet really, Andrew from San Diego is up next year.
I don't know. How what do you think about Riley
Moss today? Andrew?

Speaker 9 (14:43):
How are you you knew exactly what was gonna come
to you? Uh? What I learned, I'm not gonna be
tough because he did after a certain went down, you know,
it was definitely gonna be a tall order. He'd I
would say he did eighty five percent very well. Uh
percent or fifteen percent is again the penalties. But what
I've learned is that he's not very good with shifty receivers,

(15:06):
and I think that's going to be the downfall. But
if they're straight liners, I think he might be all right.
But uh, you know that that first penalty, obviously it
was a penalty, but that second one was a little
ticky tack because I didn't think he I think the
rest are being up bottom while he's down. So but
but I'm hoping that next week he'll he'll bounce back
and come out firing on all cylinders. I'm gonna keep

(15:29):
faith in him. I'm a little rough. I felt bad.
I was like, you know, Ryan, Ryan knocked some sense
into me. I'm gonna be gentle from here on out.
It gonna be a.

Speaker 1 (15:37):
Hold on very very quickly Andrew. If he has a
bad game, I'm like, I'm not gonna sit here just
defend him blindly, right. I just think that some of
the criticism can go a little bit out of bounce.
I think there's some of the criticism that that doesn't
isn't completely warranted. But you know, again that the penalties
are are what they are, right, and so the first
one he earns, the second one he did not, in

(15:58):
my opinion into your opinion is well, but he's he's
got a reputation, and that's one of those deals, like
he's got to find a way to from a technique standpoint,
continue to work out of that. And and if he
ends up being basically cornerback one this next week, well
then that's going to be sort of an interesting spot
for him as well. Even if I'm assuming they have
Nico Collins, that's going to be a tough matchup for him.

(16:22):
So I'm definitely not above criticizing him at all, But
I just think that some of the criticisms sometimes doesn't
really take into account how he's actually playing.

Speaker 5 (16:33):
Well.

Speaker 9 (16:33):
I won't be silly like that. One texture said that
he needs to be out of the league. I think
that's silly because these guys are It's like when you
get to the next level. These guys are all one percenters. Man,
everybody's good. I mean, nobody's fouch, and it's tough to
play in this league. I have respect for him, and
I'll never say you don't need to be along in
the league. I just say clean this up. But you know,

(16:54):
I'm excited, you know, and scared at the same time,
because obviously you know what what happens with sir Kan
later on. I'm hoping that it's not severe the way
I'm hoping in my eyes. I'm not a doctor, but
I hope it's not a torn peck or something. The
way he was moving his arm around, I was like, ah, man,
I hope it's not torn peck, because if it is,
it's gonna be longer than a week or two. I

(17:18):
do want to say, on a positive note, when I
got my punkin Spice Latte and I knew it was
gonna be a great day because I was like, man,
this punkin Spice Latte on the Chris san Diego Dave
just taste him just right. I was able to make
it to the game because of family reason. But I'll
be out there for Thursday night football. But I want
to say this is it was interesting. I want to

(17:38):
just leave with this remark, and I want to get
your thoughts on this. Is that a lot a lot
of my friends are Bronco fans out here. They were like,
you know, I wish we didn't get rid of Javonte
Williams because he's doing really well with the Cowboys. I
was like, you realize, yes, he has a lot of yardists,
but a lot of yards are like one or two
yards to carry. It's not like we're JK. Dobbins and
Harvey and our and the day it's like we're getting

(18:01):
they're getting like five or six yards to carry. I'd
rather have that than just get one or two yards
to carry. And today it was a prime example. The
other way he got his touchdowns was like one or
two yards, but the way Dobbins and Harvey were dashing
it was it was more fun to watch. And I'm
excited to see if we go forward with that kind
of you know, game plan against these teams and use
that kind of attack, because I think we could be

(18:22):
unstoppable because it opens up the pass game. I like
to hear your thoughts on that. Love your show, Ryan,
have a great week. Appreciate you man.

Speaker 1 (18:29):
Yeah, I appreciate you too, brother, And yeah it is if
again last week ur J Harvey had the four carries
for zero yards. I mean one of those was a lateral.
They end up going for negative yards. But the point
of it is is like the combo, which is supposed
to be a two man run game rights running back
by committee, wasn't that JK has been clearly the best

(18:50):
running back throughout the course of the season, like it's
not even close. And that's still the case even after today.
But you see the combination of what's supposed to look like.
We haven't had a lot of games like that. I
think that I can think of one other game where
I felt like that combination was about where it was,
and I think that was the Cincinnati game, if I
remember off the top of my head. But that was

(19:10):
the closest thing we've had to the combination where you're saying, Okay,
this is what it's supposed to look like. This is
where both of these guys are complimentary. Yeah, it was
fifty eight yards on fourteen carries for RJ. But honestly,
like he's only had He had seventy yards in the
first game against Tennessee, he had fifty eight versus Cincinnati,
and then forty six today. Other than that, really it's

(19:32):
all of single digits. I mean twelve yards versus Philly,
but I mean that's barely there. Everything else is eight yards,
two yards, four yards, zero yards, So you want to
see more. But that's what it's supposed to look like.
That combination is exactly what the Broncos had in mind
when they drafted RJ. Harvey and then they brought in JK. Dobbins.
It was never supposed to be a belcal back situation,

(19:54):
even if JK is the better running back and looks
like the better running back back to the phones, we
got John in, Uh, what is this patroni Colorado? What's
going on?

Speaker 3 (20:04):
John?

Speaker 5 (20:06):
Hey?

Speaker 10 (20:07):
Ryan Hey, just wanted to know what you thought about
Sean Payton going for two points.

Speaker 1 (20:15):
Well he did that, Yeah, he did that because they
ended up having a personal foul penalty and not necessary roughness.
So you get you get that, if.

Speaker 10 (20:24):
You're going to pass the ball, does it matter whether
you're at the one or the two. So why don't
they go for it every time? For two points.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
Well, I mean, you could you.

Speaker 10 (20:35):
Run the ball, that's one thing. But if you're going
to pass the ball, does it matter if you're at
the one or the two.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
Well, you know you have a good play call. You
have a good play call. They got two two point
conversions last week.

Speaker 10 (20:47):
From the two instead of the one.

Speaker 1 (20:50):
I don't understand the gripe here, John, that you're.

Speaker 10 (20:52):
Gonna go for two. The score was twenty to ten,
we go up by twelve or we go up by
eleven the extra point. Yeah, has just made some really
bad calls like that. He's had trouble with his time
outs in the past weeks. The only thing that's going
to stop the Broncos is some thumb coaching decisions.

Speaker 1 (21:14):
Okay, well, John, you're wrong on this one and and
and basically you're wrong because I know you are wrong. Okay,
I'm gonna tell you right now while you're wrong. So
you're wrong on this one. Because this is a this
is typically sort of standard operating procedure when there's a
personal foul penalty after the touchdown. So it was after
the touchdown. They they most teams, every team, all teams

(21:36):
do this where they opt for half the distance to
the goal on a two point conversion, so it's from
the one yard line. Now you could say they should
maybe running from the one yard line, okay, if that's fine.
They drew up a pass play didn't end up working.
They had an illegal man downfield anyway, So if they
would have converted, they would have had to do it
again regardless, right, But the point of it is, and

(21:57):
that would actually backed it out, backed it out by
five yards and point you probably do decide to go
back and kick the extra point. So remarkably, if they
would have converted it there, they wouldn't have done it.
But this isn't a bad coaching decision. This is what
every coach does. Every coach does it just like this,
John is. If there's a personal foul penalty in that
kind of moment, you take half the distance to the

(22:19):
goal on a two point conversion, which is up to
the one yard line. So that's not a bad coaching decision.
That's what every coach does. Now, the play call is
a different deal. It didn't work out. I'm going to
give some benefit of the doubt. Personally, I'm gonna give
some benefit of the doubt because Sean just had a
brilliant couple of play calls on the two point conversions
last week, and overall, I think that they've in a

(22:42):
four point night on offense. I think you feel pretty
good about where they're at offensively, so, but I appreciate
your Hey, listen, man, tis le opinion. If you see
it a little bit different, that's fine. But I'm just
telling you that that that's pretty standard. It just didn't
work out, that's all, Dakota. You're up next year on
Broncos react. What's Dakota.

Speaker 6 (23:03):
Right? It sounds like you Rick and Dave get to
save on the the blood pressure medication this week.

Speaker 1 (23:08):
Hey, no doubt, I'll take him. I'll take them. When
they happened, I was I was texting with Rick Craft
of the game or right right during the fourth quarter,
and it was just kind of like, man, this is
it's nice and it gets kind of cruise into a win
for once.

Speaker 6 (23:21):
Yeah, and not you know, not against a Joe Burrow list,
you know Bengals team. Yeah, this one felt good. Yes
it was a solid win. But uh, you know, I
I see a lot of bagging on Benjamin Albright. It
is one warranted, But I will say this, you know,
I did see I did see some of the some
of the differences in the offense. Now, I'm sure he'll

(23:42):
find a way to take credit and say Sean Payton
was listening to him on them on the show, but
you know it was he was right. I mean, they
they got to the line. Uh, you know, going tempo
doesn't mean it has to be hurry up and doesn't
mean you have to snap the ball with twenty five
seconds on the clock. But you know, several times I
saw them get a good defensive look out out of
what they were seeing by just getting up to the

(24:03):
line and then you know, adjusting and you know, and
maybe you know sometimes they did snap it early. But
either way, it was working. Whatever it was working was working.
And he's right, it opened up some successful screenplays. So
on that end of things, you know, I do warrant
that opinion is valid. I just don't see how from

(24:23):
a from a scheme standpoint, I understand maybe you're not
gonna take as many deep shots you mentioned earlier. Is like, yeah,
we knew it was kind of a weaker defense. You're
gonna probably you know, have a more aggressive game plan
than than other teams. And so that's I understand that,
but I don't know that there's any negative to to

(24:43):
doing that, to getting up to the line, regardless of
what defense you're facing, whatever, regardless of what you know,
whatever play calls, you're gonna be running. I don't see
that as a as anything but a benefit to UH
to give your guys a chance to see what the
defense is doing. The defense can't sub and and so
I like. And then one thing I will say that
that Ben is just dead wrong on is you know

(25:05):
he called he called bo a one read guy, and
I get it. It is a weak defense. But there
are several plays where he worked through progressions. I think
we just for once we didn't have well not for one.
I think the offensive line has done good. But there's
a difference between having three to four seconds to throw
to five six seven. I mean, he had he had
time today and so it was great to see. And

(25:27):
that's all I have to say. No, I just want
to let you know I enjoy the show. I listened
to every hour of every podcast throughout the week, and
even the Broncos react stuff. It's just I live, I
live Broncos, and so I appreciate you guys being on
here and providing us an outlet.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
Yeah, of course, man, and thanks for the call. I
really do appreciate that. And I think you know for
tonight that there's been some moments where the criticism is
completely warranted on bon Nicks. I mean tonight, he was special.
And if you if some people including Ben want to
say it's just because his defense is so bad, well
then that's what it is. But it's still an NFL defense,
and it's still a defense that just helped the Dallas
Cowboys get to three wins and tie. I guess so

(26:04):
they're three four and one, And I mean the offense
is obviously carried him so in this case, and we've
talked about this even in relation to the Broncos so
like mirror image, right or funhouse mirror, if you will.
So the Broncos defense is obviously the strength of this
team historically, right, or at least over the course of
the season, we've said on this show, and otherwise, there's

(26:26):
gonna be games where the defense can't carry you, where
the defense is gonna have a tough outing and the
matchups or whatever, and the offense is gonna have to
do their part. And so this was one of those
nights where we thought the offense was gonna have to
come out big and lo and behold, you end up
getting a complete performance in my opinion, from the defense

(26:46):
as well. So you ended up getting complete really all around.
But there are gonna be nights when you're gonna need
more from the offense. So tonight it ended up being
great and it was an easy win. But so my
point of it is for Dallas, I don't think they
have the luxury of that their defense is probably never
gonna show up that well. They just don't have the horses.

(27:08):
They don't have and they're injured too, So I don't
want to just say it's not because of talent, not
just because of talent, but that is part of it.
But they're gonna have to always score a lot of
points on offense, where the Broncos have the option when
their offense does figure things some things out, and like
they did tonight, where the offense can also carry the day.

(27:28):
We're gonna take a quick break. We got callers on hold,
Colton more on hold. We'll get to those coming up.
On the other side. You're listening to Broncos React on
the Kway Broncos Radio Network. Obviously we're waiting on passer
ten with a shoulder injury, and Nate Adkins also came
up with an injury as well, so those are going
to impact things after the fact. Three zero, three se one,

(27:49):
three eighty five eighty five, five six six nine zero.
But I am hearing from Ben take it for what
it is that there wasn't a sling on PS two
in the locker room. So again, I don't know, I
don't know what it ultimately means, but I feel like,

(28:11):
not a doctor, if it was a torn peck right,
a torn pectoral like like some people out there are speculating,
not officially, then I think that that would be we
see that. So I'm hoping it was more precautionary. I'm
hoping it was more of a factor that they thought
at halftime when they're up twenty seven to ten, that

(28:32):
they could get some reps for some of the younger
guys and let things got out of hand. Maybe it
would maybe you feel a little bit different, but in
that respect, they felt like they were in firm control
of the game. That's what it feels like, and I'm
hoping is the case. Five six, six nine zero is
our text line I'm gonna get to a couple of
texts here in just a second, but we have a
couple people on hold, So let's go back to the
phones and Colton and Hiland's rancher up next year on

(28:54):
Broncos react. What's up? Colton?

Speaker 9 (28:57):
Hey?

Speaker 11 (28:57):
Ryan?

Speaker 2 (28:58):
Real quick?

Speaker 11 (28:59):
Just your message you got up from Ben. I'm hoping
it's precautionary too. And if that's the case, you know,
maybe you look at this long term and these next
two games, you know you possibly could get by with
him him sitting and resting and really be ready for
that KC game. But a couple points I want to
make is forty four points to day. I believe that's
the most in the Sean payteon nera coach in the
Denver Broncos. So really good to see there. The other

(29:21):
thing is is I think this is the most comfortable
I've seen bo operating this offense. And you can correct
me if I'm wrong. He just looked like he was
wheeling and dealing and more comfortable with his rookies than
I've ever seen him today, especially with Bryant and r. J. Harvey.
But man Evan Ingram was pretty sneaky good today as well,
and I know that everybody's going to keep comparing Bo

(29:42):
to these other quarterbacks within his class that he was
drafted out of. But I will tell you right now,
you'll have your stats guys out of that draft class,
ie Drake May and Jaydon Daniels. But I think in
the long run, and mark my words on this, Ryan,
the thing we're going to look at with with Bow
compared to all those other guys is the wins category
and the durb category.

Speaker 1 (30:01):
That's a great, great point, especially with watching what's going
on with Jayden Daniels right As for an example there,
JJ McCarthy is another one. Michael Pennix, I mean guys
that have dealt with a lot of injuries and Bo Nix,
I mean he had the back injury last year, he
played through it that made the postseason. I think that's
a fantastic point. Colton. You have you ever been to
Sam's Number three dinner and bar? I have not, sir, okay,

(30:23):
I'd like to send you there with a fifty dollars
gift card.

Speaker 11 (30:25):
You cool with that, Hey, I appreciate that, buddy. This
is my first time calling in, so all.

Speaker 1 (30:29):
Right, create that well, fantastic. I appreciate you. Calora is online.
Three there, Shannon, congratulations, Colton. You want a fifty dollars
gift card to Sam's Number three Diner and Bar, presenting
sponsor of Denver Defense three and outs Sproncos REAC gives
away three fifty dollars gift cards every week to listeners
in Denver or Bowlder. We just gave away our third.
You guys have been fantastic tonight as always, and I
appreciate that call. That's a really good point. I think

(30:51):
that when the long term of this thing, You're right,
I think we'll end up pointing a lot to maybe
some more wins for boon Knicks and certainly more durability
then some of his counterparts. Great, great point. Ryan an
Andy is up next year on Broncos React. We'll get
to the text line here a second. What's up, Brian?

Speaker 3 (31:08):
All right?

Speaker 8 (31:08):
What's going on?

Speaker 5 (31:09):
Man?

Speaker 8 (31:09):
How are you tonight?

Speaker 1 (31:10):
I'm doing great, man, As like I said, my blood
pressure is in check. I'm not feeling is worn out
coming into uh Broncos react as typical. It's a it's
a little bit of a vacation day in some respects.

Speaker 8 (31:22):
How are you Yeah, I'm good. I'm good. Sean Payton
was in his bag today. I mean, this is the
rookie game. At least I'm dubbing at that, you know,
R J. Harvey, Jday, Baron, Pat Bryan, everybody who played
really really well today. Obviously Cowboys defense, you know, isn't
that great. But I thought that we took advantage of

(31:42):
all opportunities. I love the way that Bo responded after
the first drive interception again, the defense holding they're only
get going, giving up three points, but we're just moving
up and down the field. It felt, you know, very
much like you know, just the Broncos of old, you know,
running the football really well, and hey, look nine nine
wins in a row at home. I mean we're taking

(32:04):
care of home field advantage, which feels again, you know,
just like the the old Broncos. So I love that,
you know, that we're taking care of business there. So loving,
loving what I'm seeing so far. Another one and oh week.
You know, hopefully the PS two well will rebound. Obviously
as you're getting information from from Ben. Hopefully that's that's good, uh,
because we obviously need him back on the field. But uh,

(32:25):
you know, on to Houston and again really really glad
about the win this week and uh, you know, taking
care of business. We we just we owned the We
owned the Cowboys. So looking forward to to listen to
you this week. And yeah, I'm a great show, and
you know, looking forward to hearing you talk about the
the game this week.

Speaker 1 (32:42):
I appreciate Ryan. Hey, thanks so much, man, thanks for
calling in. Yeah this, Uh, I think the point about
passer tan in the secondary, I mean this is one
of the reasons why you have depth, and we talked
about that a bit earlier. Is nice seeing John Ay
baring with that get the interception. But Jake Kwan McMillan
has been playing phenomenal. I know he plays on a
slot predominantly, but that they move him around and they

(33:03):
can move him around. I've always thought Chris Abrams drain
is underrated, and he showed that at last year towards
the end of the season when he had to play
extended minutes and extended snaps. I'm just such a big
fan of the way they built this roster. And we
had a lot of calls in text earlier talking about
how great a job George Peyton has done. And I

(33:23):
think this is such an example right where you don't
know what your death truly looks like until it's going
to be tested, and so this is an opportunity. But
again it'd be great. I mean, paser Tan changes the
dynamics of things. And you saw last year when he
went out and I want to say it was the

(33:44):
Chargers game. It was very early in that Chargers game,
early in the season, and it completely changed the complexion
of that game. And and so if he is out,
then at least there's going to be an opportunity over
the course of the week to get all the rep
that you ultimately need to get to get these guys
ready to go. So it's not the surprise like it

(34:05):
was there and it felt like the Broncos secondary was
really reeling after he went down last year in the
Chargers game. This case here, you're going to be able
to work through it, I think more effectively against Houston,
and Houston's been inconsistent on offense. I mean, that's that's
the best way to describe them. I mean, they had
a big day to day. I guess it really banged
up forty nine Ers defense. That's great, but you saw

(34:27):
them two weeks ago against Seattle, a much better defense
and that that was anemic offense. Now Nico Collins is
going to be a tough cover. And they got a
couple of rookies in jayaln Noewel and Jayden and Higgins
that are very talented. Dalton Schultz a pretty talented receiving
tight end as well, So they've got some. So they've
got some guys. But you know, you get some pressure

(34:48):
on CJ. Stroud and he tends to struggle a bit.
Steelers are still leading right now, sixteen to fourteen. Jordan
Love had another touchdown pass to start the third quarter,
So Pittsburgh's facing a third and ten at the Green
Bay thirty eight and almost in near fumble here moments
ago with the Pittsburgh Steelers for Aaron Rodgers, but they
ended up calling it an incomplete pass. So now that's

(35:09):
fourth and ten and they're gonna be facing another field
goal opportunity. All right, we're gonna take a quick break.
We will come back. I will read a lot of
your texts when we come back. I also get to
the phones as well. Three oh three seven one, three
eighty five eighty five. I'm Ryan Edwards. This is Broncos
react on the KWA Broncos Radio Network. Welcome back to
Broncos React on Ryan Edwards. Today's game brought to you
by col Radin's Responsible Energy Development, developing Colorados Energy. Learn
more at cred dot org the cred dot org. Uh

(35:31):
give us call three three seven one, three eighty five
eighty five or five six six nine zero. It's air
Kae Commons bird Hill text line. All right, let's see here.
I'm kind of curious. Hold on, I'm gonna try to
read a couple of these texts. Is it just me?
Or did the Broncos seem to a bit lacking in
swagger when they wear the nineteen seventy seven jerseys. I

(35:52):
thought there's a lot of swagger today, and we had
more people texting in saying they wish they did this
all the time. They cants because it's a league rule.
But yeah, just saw a short YouTube on someone recording
from the stands. It was Sean ripping Russ on the sideline,
and I saw a truly insightful comment. It may not
be a top comment because it's how society works these days.

(36:14):
It reads and I can't read that should have read ahead.
That's all me. Why let's see here or the two
point conversion. I may be overthinking it, but going up
twelve is theoretically harder for the opposing team. You need
you need two touchdowns, right, going up eleven you only
need a one touchdown and a two point conversion and

(36:34):
field goal. Well, and that's that's Jacob Reinald.

Speaker 5 (36:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (36:36):
And so to the caller earlier, I think it his
name is John. His complaints was why was Sean Payton
going for two when he didn't need to go for two?
And he was somehow blaming the coach. But I'm saying
this is pretty standard under the circumstances. If there is
a penalty that can be enforced after the play, you're

(36:59):
gonna take the opportunity to move from the two to
the one half the distance to the goal with an
opportunity for a two point conversion. Every team does that way.
Now you could question whether or not, theoretically, I guess
whether that's the best use of that. I think you
can also do it on the kickoff, but I don't
feel like the value is as great as getting the

(37:20):
extra point there As to the texture saying to get
to twelve would have been valuable. Now you ended up
being a ten which is, you know, a touchdown and
a field goal. Okay, but he gets twelve, then the
texture's right, you're up by two touchdowns. It wasn't being
unnecessarily greedy, which I think what thee the caller was

(37:42):
sort of suggesting that Sean Payton was being greedy. Now
it's just a it's just hey, there's a personal foul
penalty in the end zone after the touchdown, and now
we get a chance to go for two here and
here's our play once again, could call up a pass
or a run? I think from the one yard line
there's an argument for really for either.

Speaker 3 (38:00):
Right.

Speaker 1 (38:02):
JK. Dobbins is averaging like six yards per carry on
the season, so I probably would have liked that. But
again I get to plead be captain hindsight after the
fact it didn't work. You had a legal man downfield,
so even if you had converted, you would have been
backed up to the five and at that point I
think you probably choose instead to go for the extra
point and be backed up five yards, which is what

(38:24):
they probably would have done. Renamed Broncos react to skillet reacts,
I don't know. I mean, he doesn't call in every week,
but he does call in, which is often you know,
often enough, it's fun featuring Skillett. I like that Ryan's
a monster in the post game last week was something else.
We're lucky to have your brother. Don't let Ben break
you down? Well, thank you, very kind. I appreciate you,

(38:49):
And yeah, I don't I don't let I don't let
Ben bring me down, although it was funny. On Friday,
I was doing K Sports with Nate Jackson and somebody
said that they appreciated it's approach because he was a
lot more positive, and he kind of lumped me in
with the Ben all Bright wet blankets negativity, saying, you know,
the show's a lot more negative when it's Ryan and Ben.

(39:09):
And I will say, there's a certain amount that you
just absorb it, the wet blanketness of Ben Albright and
there and John by the way from North Carolina's reference
to get earlier because I was trying. Ben has a
tough time saying just positive things, right. It's always with
the caveat. It's like, well, like, for example, the Broncos

(39:31):
should look good offensively this week because the Dallas defense
is bad. That's a caveat. That's adding some some context
and and it's like giving the Broncos offense some credit
but then also simultaneously saying, but if they they aren't good, it's, well,
that's an issue with them because the defense the Dallas
Cowboys is bad. So I asked him to just say

(39:52):
nice things about the Broncos offense, and he or just
in the Broncos in general, and he really had our
time doing that. So pretty funny stuff. Uh see. Here,
is there any way to allow KWA Broncos games on
iHeartRadio not to be blocked on outside markets? You know

(40:14):
that's it's kind of above my pay grade. I'm not
exactly sure zoning and all those kinds of things like
how that, how that tends to work. I know that
when I do the read and the pregame that if
you live in the Denver area, you can listen on
the iHeartRadio app. You can listen on the website. There
are some people that have found ways to do that,

(40:35):
but or outside the market been able to do that.
I don't know how you do it. Maybe you guys
can text me in and tell tell me, because I
get asked that question a lot, but I really don't know. Again,
kind of above my pay grade kind of deal win
Yogi on National Pumpkin Day. It's appropriate you guys in
Orange got the w Finally a well routed game from

(40:55):
all aspects. Just hoping PS two and mems will be okay, Yeah,
I mean too again, you might have to attest some
of your secondary depth there, all right, three at three,
set one three eighty five, eighty five five six six
nine zero koa commas spirit out text. I will take
another break here. We'll be right back on the Kai
Broncos radio network. You should have actually had a touchdown.
I still didn't like the OPI call against Uh. I

(41:18):
think it was troutman and I didn't like that call.
This should have been another touchdown for the Broncos. They
end up settling for a field goal. But then you
had a chance to score touchdown on the very next
playing went right through his hands. So I mean, it's
sort of it is what it is. But on a
day you score forty four points, I guess you can
have some allowances. Doesn't have to be perfect. You just
did the best You could. Ultimately still have rush for
one hundred and seventy nine yards and pass for two

(41:40):
forty seven, four passing touchdowns it's pretty good. You probably
take that the agreement. Packers just went in front on
a touchdown run from Josh Jacobs. They got the two
point conversion as well, so they're up twenty two to
nineteen at the beginning portion of the fourth quarter. Stealers
will go back onto the field here with Aaron Rodgers
entertaining game here on Sunday Night Football. Absolutely really fun game.

(42:04):
It was fascinating to see how Aaron Rodgers was going
to respond playing his old team. There's just like, okay,
you want to show them. They're a big game though,
like massive implications really for both teams. I mean, green
Bay's for one and one, the Steelers are four and two.
If the Steelers lose this game, they'll be back to
back losses. Remember they lost against Cincinnati on Thursday Night
Football last week. The Packers I think they're coming off

(42:26):
a bye. No they aren't. No, they aren't. They take
that back. The Packers are. They played the Cardinals in
a win last week. That's right, twenty seven to twenty three.
So that's a big game though, NFC. You got to
keep pace. There's some really top heavy teams there. The
Steelers are in control of the AFC North. But you

(42:47):
got the Ravens winning today, which keeps their hopes alive,
Bengals losing today, which obviously hurts their chances. But Bengals
were always kind of going to be a bit of
a long shot in this entire process. Anyways, in my opinion,
as well as Joe Flacco had been playing, it's still tough.
They don't have a great defense, and they got kind

(43:07):
of a razor's edge when it comes to their path.
And then the Browns are the Browns. But you know,
the Browns made things interesting early on in that game
against the Patriots before we got out of hand three
out three, set one three eighty five, eighty five, five six,
six niney zero, we got a couple segments left before
we hit the top of the arm. If you take
a penalty, you have to run the ball. Otherwise you
should go for two every time. Makes a little difference

(43:28):
going from one to two. If you're passing the ball,
would be much better to take the penalty yards on
the kickoff. I mean, you could have taken the penalty
yards and the kickoff. I'm saying it's pretty typical. I
guess the point I'm trying to make I don't know
why we're arguing this, but the point is typical that
teams when they get a penalty after a touchdown, say
a personal foul, for example, they could take half the
distance to the goal. It's a fifteen yard penalty, but

(43:49):
you only get one yard. So I understand like the
point of it where you're saying like that, that feels
like not as much and you could get it more
on kickoff, but that's what teams do. Ryan, Thanks, it
was a great game. Glad they won. Looking forward to
having my bloody Mary's and Sam's in honor my dad
later today too. Thanks so much again. Yeah, absolutely, thank
you guys. Thank you for the text, and yeah, I

(44:10):
love Sam's. Thank you to Sam's Number three Diner and
Bar for their fantastic sponsorship of the Denver Defense three
and outs and the fifty dollar gift cards giveaway every
single week. Those outside the market like myself can listen
on the KA broadcast as long as we tune in
any time prior to the game. Oh that's interesting, which
everyone should since we all should be listening to the

(44:30):
pregame show. Thank you. I appreciate that, but you can't
turn it off once the game starts, otherwise you lose it. Aha,
that's interesting. Okay, good to know. Did not know that.
That's cool, So yeah, definitely maybe try that for the
people listening on the website or the app or whatever.

(44:52):
See if that helps out. And we do appreciate you
listening to the pregame. We put a lot of work
into that, so thank you for that. Let's see here.
NFL Plus subscriptions allow you to go listen to radio
from either team out of market. Oh, there you go.
That's a good one, David, thank you. Yeah, another one.
NFL Plus is the only way I know to get
the broadcast, or if you're tech savvy, you can get

(45:14):
a GPS mock location app. Okay, good stuff. You guys
are great. NFL Plus that that would be a good
way to do it, for sure. And I use the
NFL Plus for a lot of things. Obviously, the replays
get a chance to rewatch the games. It's a big
part of it. It's good, good, it's good info. Guys.
Thank you very much. I appreciate that. The Texas I

(45:35):
apologize to the text I meant to say, is it
just me? Or do the Broncos seem like they're playing
with swagger when they wear the seventy seven jerseys. Ah,
that makes a little more sense. Yes, I think they
do too, but again you couldn't as much as people
keep lobbying for them to to wear them all the time,
that's unfortunately not an option because of league rules. But
when they do it is special. It's very cool. We're

(45:57):
taking another break. We'll write back on the KWA Broncos
radio network. We read a couple of texts before we
take our final break. Andy from Kansas Broncos still undefeated
at home this year, good win. A lot of TV
analysts had the Cowboys winning, so I call it a
big win. Twenty point margin is a big win. Go Broncos.
Happy victory Monday. Thank you Ryan, keep up the great work.
Thank you Andy, very kind. Ryan. Why is the pregame

(46:18):
not put on the KWA podcast like Broncos react is
That's a good question.

Speaker 9 (46:21):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (46:22):
We've it's never really done that, but something to think about.
I mean, we've put some of the interviews up there, right, Like,
so I talked to Quinn Minors this week for example.
That's up there, and I think we do some of
that stuff. But yeah, I don't think we've ever we've
ever done the pregame that way, but something to consider
for sure. Appreciate that. All right, final moments here of

(46:44):
our postgame react Broncos React, We'll be right back. Mostly
positive stuff today. A couple of negative text calls, but
for the most part, people were pretty happy with the
way the team performed. And why wouldn't you be. I mean, honestly,
there were quite a few people out there really thinking
that the Cowboys were going to march into Denver and
beat up on the Broncos. The Packers are now up

(47:07):
by ten. A deep touchdown pass to Tucker Kraft, who
has seven catches for one hundred and forty three yards
and two touchdowns on National tight End Day. That's another
thing that we really didn't get a chance to talk
to about talk about probably get to a little bit
tomorrow on KAWI Sports with Dave is how Jake Ferguson,
one of the best tight ends in the league, was

(47:29):
held catchless in this game. And that's against Advance Joseph defense.
It tends to struggle against tight ends, so great stuff there.
Vance Joseph had a plan for him, and there was
a certain amount of allowing the other two guys, two
receivers to have some tick if you will, as long
as they didn't go nuts. And the same thing with
the running game. So I think the overall just brilliant

(47:50):
performance from the Broncos defense. Want to think Dave Logan,
Rick Lewis, Suzie Wargen, Alan Jackson, Jesse Trujillo, Ross Kaminski
on pair of bollocks, Jimmy Churchill as well Parabolics, Doug
Strauss our statistician, Jim Zajak, our Spotder, Nick Ferguson, Jojo Turnbo,
Benjamin Albright, Zach Segers, Dave Tepper, Brenda Egger, Mike Irby,

(48:14):
Dominic Bond, Anthony Rodriguez, Grant Smith, and my guy, the
one and only Shannon Scott for riding with me here
on Broncos REAC. Thank you guys as well, Texter Scholars,
you guys are phenomenal Tonight. We will be back to
Borrow three o'clock for k We sports have a great night,
be safe. We'll talk to you next time.
