Speaker 1 (00:00):
We're on until six o'clock when we hand things off
to Broncos Country tonight. I'm sure Ben will have some
thoughts about the game and we'll see how positive he
is after a twenty point win.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
He does, of course not. He didn't predict the Broncos
to win this game.
Speaker 1 (00:15):
I'm fascinated to see if he's gonna pick against them
again with the Texans.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
But maybe that's the streak we're on.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
Maybe it's good news to have been pick against the
Broncos and be a wet blanket.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
That's good stuff. It motivates them.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
Motivates who I don't know, who's them.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
Gets it in front of the guys right before the game, says,
you know, Ben picks against you again.
Speaker 4 (00:37):
Okay, so gentlemen, here as we look at the Denver
local market, there's a guy by the name of Benjamin alright,
and he's not picking you guys, that's right. So it's
almost like we're gonna go win this thing in spite
of been, inspite have been makes sense to me.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
Yeah, that's a no for me, dog, that's a no.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
We're gonna give you a chance to win a pair
of Broncos Raiders tickets. Coming up here in about twenty minutes.
So I'm gonna tell you this specific time, five twenty five. Okay,
five twenty five because sometimes the streamers it matt at
me because we do this sort of cute cute call
kind of thing, and there's a little bit of a
delay for the streamers.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
So I'm letting you know five twenty five.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
Ahead of ahead of time.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
That's right, yes, five twenty five tonight.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
You don't get in now my fault.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
I can't help you, right, but we're gonna do a
cue call for that coming up here in twenty minutes
from now. We get five six six nine zeros o
ka with comm Spery health text line really quick. Somebody says,
have you talked about CEU yet? What do you want
us to say?
Speaker 2 (01:38):
What is there to say? What is there to say?
Speaker 4 (01:41):
I mean, I don't know about too. And I tweeted
this out watching the game. It got to a point,
man where I just turned it off. I said, I'm
gonna watch Tour Story four.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
Did you watch? Did you turn it off after like
the second play of the game.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
No? No, no, no, no, okay, oh no no no no.
I went I went deep, deep, deep, deep, like halftime,
deep deeper.
Speaker 4 (02:03):
Yes, I'm like getting into the early part of the
fourth quarter.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
I should nominate you for sainthood. I did not make
it that far. I mean to halftime, though I didn't
get to halftime. It was like you can't look away
kind of deal. And of course my rams also had
a brutal weekend as well, but they fired their coaching.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
I feel like it's on a different scale. But yeah,
you saw hung a hunter.
Speaker 4 (02:28):
Yes, I mean, listen, man, I'm watching like like eight
minutes into the fourth Wow. Yes, I did, because I
was hoping to see some alma turn around, some some
form a fight. And then I was like, you know what,
I'm watched toy Story four because at least du kaboom
and give me more effort.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Right, that's voice by right, look at you.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
Yes, that's that's that's what he said.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
I know, yes, but now way you have that.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
Oh he got stunn it sit him? Know Now you
gave me that.
Speaker 4 (03:03):
Bright smile and I just fell right into the trap.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Here's what Coach Prime said after this game.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
This is bad.
Speaker 4 (03:10):
It's probably the worst being I've ever had, except for
when my mama whooped me as a kid.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
Four hundred and twenty two yards rushing.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
You ain't winning.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
You're not winning.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
No, that's the point.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
Though you could try to say, well, the offense should
have done or this should have been. No, when you
give a four hundred and twenty two yards rushing it again,
Utah pulled back the reins. Eventually, you're you're gonna lose
a lot of games like that, but hopefully so you
can figure a few things out. They still have an
opportunity to becoming all eligible coming off of bye.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
Yes, I know, I know that was a tough one.
That's a tough one.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
So not great for our college teams, but great for
the Broncos is they had a dominant performance against the Cowboys.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
There's something that stood out in this game.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
We talked about it a little bit before the show today,
but there was something that stood in this game that
I need to address when it comes to how great
of a defensive performance it was.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
Oh, let me hear it.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
Look at you perking up.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
I just said, let me hear it.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
Jake Ferguson, who leads the league in the tight end
position in receptions and touchdowns, who.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
Happened to be on your fantasy team and mine?
Speaker 1 (04:25):
Yeah, well, I'm in like fifteen leagues, so he's bound
to fall on one of these leagues.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
Right point of it is zero catches and one target.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
And by the way, that one target was the Jade
Baron interception on the deep seam.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
They locked him down.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
I gotta be honest, man, seeing the overall stats from
the game, that one absolutely blew my mind because historically
Vance Joseph defenses do struggle.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Against Titans, do they not?
Speaker 3 (04:55):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (04:55):
Absolutely yes.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
And we have Alex Singleton, who is one of the
guys that gets talked about every single week from Broncos
fans about holy cow, can't wait till Drake Greenlaw comes back.
Speaker 2 (05:06):
By the way, he's coming back this week. Pretty cool.
That's gonna be good point here, though.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
Without Drake Greenlaw in this game, even if it was
gonna be limited snaps, you're thought, that's a problem for
the Broncos. Locked him down. You didn't hear a peep
from Jake ferguson if Dak Prescott didn't even really look
his way except for that one time right before halftime
when he's targeting him and Johnny barn intercepted the ball.
Otherwise he was a blocker because and you know why,
(05:34):
because the pressure was so significant on that Dallas Cowboys
offensive line in Dak Prescott, they had to leave him
in as a blocker a lot more often.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
At least that's my opinion.
Speaker 4 (05:44):
Jake Ferguson was so quiet. It was almost like a
mouse pisson on cotton. It was that quiet you can't
even hear it, right, And you're right, And this is
what pressure can actually do to a quarterback. It neutralizes
that particular quarterback. It makes it really difficult to kind
of stay in rhythm. And I know a lot of
(06:07):
quarterbacks get criticized a lot, even though I didn't play
the quarterback position. I think it's unfair criticism. That would
be unfairly criticized after the loss to the Denver Broncos.
But I would say, well, what quarterback isn't impacted by pressure.
You can't set your feet, you can't go through your progressions.
(06:29):
You can try to say, well, we're gonna take him.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
From being on the center and we're gonna put him
in the shotgun.
Speaker 4 (06:34):
That's gonna help because he's got a five yard head start.
If you got animals like Johnny Cooper, Zach Allen and
Nick Benito, God bless you because.
Speaker 3 (06:45):
They're coming. They are freaking coming.
Speaker 4 (06:48):
And I have to say, man, side note, some of
the celebrations I'm liking. I like Zach Allen with the
kind of kissing like he's in Rome or something like that.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
Is that, like, is that similar to JJ watts sacked celebration?
I remember correctly?
Speaker 3 (07:05):
Really so? Is that the homage?
Speaker 5 (07:07):
I think so.
Speaker 3 (07:10):
Very interesting? Now John Franklin Myers.
Speaker 4 (07:13):
I know it's around Halloween, so I don't know if
that is kind of a Mike Myers thing. Look like
he's pulling the mask off and hitting the door in.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
I don't know what that is.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
But I like the celebration because that means that guess
what he sacked up posed the quarterback.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
Yes he did, yes, well, and that was set up
by Nick Benito, who won his rep. First added the
pressure and then JFM came in to the clean up.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
But the cleip's important.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
It has to happened, and Dak Prescott I thought might
have a window there to get rid of it, but
it was just on him in such a hurry. The
fact that they arrivaled to sack him even twice, but
all the pressures that they.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
Put on him. It was really tremendous.
Speaker 4 (07:48):
I gotta ask you this because I know players have
incentives in their contracts for a number of sacks, and
when you have two a booke and edge rushers like
the Broncos had, it makes everyone in the interior look
that much better.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
Now, what would you say that if.
Speaker 4 (08:03):
You are Nick Benito and you know John Franklin, Mariers
and Zach Allen, they get that sack total up and
they hit those bonuses, would you ask, hey man nice
meal that Derek Frisco's would be nice?
Speaker 2 (08:17):
Well, I guess you can ask. The worst thing they
could say is no.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
But I I feel like if you're say Zach Allen
or John Franklin Myers, and you definitely helped set up
the sack numbers for Nick Benito and Jonathan Cooper.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
Yeah, I think that's kind of the least you could do.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
To be honest, I include JJ Jones in that. I mean,
he needs a little bit of love if I help
you hit your A centives.
Speaker 3 (08:40):
Yes, I think that'll be a highly kind thing.
Speaker 4 (08:44):
And ethical for you to think and go like, you
know what, Hey, you know, why don't I make Christmas.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
Great for you?
Speaker 2 (08:50):
How about Dendre Tillman. By the way, Yes, did you
think it was gonna score?
Speaker 3 (08:53):
Yes, I sure did. I did.
Speaker 4 (08:54):
To the way that he was moving and navigating. You
don't see you know, I'm been moving that way.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
Oh he's going to get tracked down. But he was
moving like.
Speaker 4 (09:03):
Okay, finally close the side line. I'm stiff on the
I'm trying to get there. And I was like, oh man,
he didn't make it.
Speaker 5 (09:10):
Prescott forced to throw her when he throws it right
to a broco and this is going to be an
interception for the defense that is working, that is still
on the loose, that.
Speaker 2 (09:20):
Is, Tillman is hit from.
Speaker 5 (09:22):
Behind and knockdown shy of midfield.
Speaker 6 (09:25):
Thirty seven yards were turned by Andre Tillman and Zach
Prescott through it right toointreat out Grant.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
Thank you, Greg gets it.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
Greg gets it.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
Greg gets it.
Speaker 2 (09:41):
So why thirty six yards? That big man ran thirty.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
Six yards right picking himself off the mat.
Speaker 3 (09:48):
You know why the guy bro always comes through.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
I'm just saying, you're just pandering here, Grant.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
He's telling the shrew disne pandera game.
Speaker 4 (09:57):
Okay, So can I tell you something about this particular play.
Speaker 3 (10:01):
It was interesting about it.
Speaker 4 (10:04):
Last week against the Giants, Dak Prescott, that Dek Prescott, I.
Speaker 3 (10:08):
Mean Jackson Dart throws in interception.
Speaker 4 (10:11):
But last week it was to Justin Shannad and it's
almost in typical fashion.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
He was dropping out all right.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
So we got some news on Passer Tan. Oh boy,
it's from Jordan Schultz. It's good news.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
Oh okay.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
Passer Tan is dealing with a pectoral injuries, expecting to
miss four to six weeks. No surgery needed, but I'm
told the reigning Defensive Player of the Year will get
a second opinion this week to confirm the timeline.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
That is a massive sigh of relief. Four to six weeks.
Speaker 4 (10:41):
Well, when I when you, when I saw you pick
up your phone and I looked at your face, I
was I was a little disappointed, but I'm glad that
I don't have to.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
Well, it's a sigh of relief.
Speaker 3 (10:51):
Is that your your sigh relief?
Speaker 2 (10:52):
That that's what that face?
Speaker 4 (10:54):
Well, I would hate to see your O Wigan's trouble
face because well, because the timeline of this is phenomenon.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
Because you think about this, you got Houston, yep, you
get the Raiders, get the Chiefs. And then you have
a Buye's four.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
That's four weeks right there, So you're going to be
able to have him out for these four weeks.
Speaker 2 (11:19):
That is a massive, massive deal.
Speaker 4 (11:22):
So he wouldn't come back into that the Broncos are
at the Raiders because what I'm thinking with just four,
not the six weeks, not the full extension.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
I'm only thinking with four yep.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
So Ian Rappaport, also echoing this, says, it's the PEX
strain considered week to week and could land on IR
but solid news, so not out for the season. Everybody's
full on reporting it.
Speaker 2 (11:48):
Now. That's unbelievably good news.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
It is. But that's a wild slate of games.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
Yeah, yeah, I mean it is. And there were some
people out there that were saying, well, hopefully you can
come back for the Chiefs. Honestly, I never expected that, Bason.
What I knew was what I thought. I never expected
him back because you have the buy on the other
side of the Chiefs game, you might as well give
him that time. So now if we're looking at four
to six weeks, now I understand what you're saying. You're thinking, Okay,
well you got Washington on the other side of the
bye week and you.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
Got the Raiders again.
Speaker 1 (12:18):
If you get him back for Green Bay, Jacksonville, Kansas City,
and LA, we're golden, all right.
Speaker 3 (12:25):
So here's the one thing you have to be concerned.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
I am good with that, Okay, last month of the season.
If you told me, right now, take this or leave it,
I'd say I'll take it because you're look, you're six
and two, and this is why you have the depth
that you have. Give those guys an opportunity to play
some more. You drafted a first round cornerback for a reason.
I'm not even saying put him out there on an
(12:47):
island tomorrow. Because Chris Abrams drain has experience. He looked
great down the stretch last year. You're gonna mix a match.
There's gonna be some opportunities for everybody to play a
little bit more.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
I think this is the best news you possibly could
have had.
Speaker 4 (13:02):
I mean, yeah, yeah, I mean when you think about
the alternative PS two being done for the season, yeah,
this is the best that news that you can receive.
But at the same time, not trying to be Debrie
Downer once again, you're still trying to stay one step
ahead of the Chargers and Kansas City because the Chargers,
you've already played them once. They're one game ahead of you, right,
(13:25):
So the best hope it is, who's split with the
Chargers and beat Kansas City twice in one.
Speaker 1 (13:32):
Of those games, beat Kansas City twice. Yes, you could
be Kansasity twice.
Speaker 3 (13:36):
Well, that's what I'm saying. Best case scenario, right.
Speaker 4 (13:40):
Is to think with that set mindset because with PS
two being out and knowing as though you got Hollywood
Brown Xavier Worthy, they got Rashid Rice back, so.
Speaker 3 (13:52):
They're thinking vertical. They're going deep. Right.
Speaker 4 (13:55):
That's not to say that the Broncos that I feel
that the Broncos would not be able to keep pace
with them. But that makes the road challenging, That's all
I'm pointing out, because that's gonna be a tough stretch.
With PS two being out. You have to win majority
of those games just to give yourself a chance. Because
you think about it now, and we're not talking to
(14:16):
Super Bowl, we're talking about playoffs, playoff positioning, all of
that is so important.
Speaker 3 (14:22):
Are you hosting maybe a wildcard game or you on
the road, right, I.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
Don't think this changes any of the trajectory of the team.
In my opinion, you don't. I don't know. I do
not it changes it for you.
Speaker 4 (14:33):
Though, it does, because right now the Broncos are six
to two, charges of five and three, you've already lost them.
Speaker 2 (14:40):
Yeah, yeah, but what the Chargers like and they're really batter.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (14:47):
What gives me optimism?
Speaker 1 (14:50):
And again I feel like I'm hosting with Ben All.
Speaker 3 (14:54):
No, don't do that. I'm just being logical. There's no
blanket is here.
Speaker 1 (15:01):
What gives me optimism about this is watching what that
secondary is able to do in the second half versus
Ceedee Lamb and George Pickens.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
Watching Riley moss Man, he gets picked on.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
You realize he's been targeted more than any other cornerback
in the NFL fifty five targets to the first eight games.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
That's amazing.
Speaker 3 (15:23):
But he's a better corner for it.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
He is a better corner for it. I completely agree.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
Is it's gonna take a shift in mentality. You said
it before, you said it in the first hour when
we were talking about this. It's a shift in mentality.
There's more there's a little more pressure on the front. Guys, Hey,
you gotta carry your weight. You gotta get there you
gotta We can't leave the guys on an island. This
isn't one of those deals where we can just rely
on half the field being closed.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
You guys got to get home.
Speaker 1 (15:48):
And I they're healthy upfront, including getting Jonda El's back.
They're getting Drake Greenlaw back the way they were able
to play with and hang with the Cowboys this last week.
I think we're fine, and there isn't really There isn't
really any scary matchups. I mean, the Chiefs will be
the closest one because they seem to have all their guys,
(16:10):
but that's a few weeks away. You don't even know
if they're still going to have all of the receivers
at their disposal at that time.
Speaker 3 (16:15):
We'll see, So you get your fingers cross that. I
don't know. Maybe one gets injured, but then.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
I'm none in that mindset, and I never root for
those kinds of things. I'm just saying, we don't know.
Speaker 2 (16:23):
Right now.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
They look like the big scary Chiefs, but things change
in the NFL very quickly, That's all I'm saying, So
we'll see what that looks like.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
I don't have to worry about the Chiefs today. I
have to worry about the Texans, but the.
Speaker 1 (16:33):
Texans have been an inconsistent offense for weeks now, Right,
they looked great this last week, but they were even
missing Nico Collins, but they had some of their young
guys step up.
Speaker 2 (16:43):
Good for them.
Speaker 1 (16:44):
I don't worry about that offensive line doesn't scare me.
I think our ad rushers are gonna be gonna have
a day.
Speaker 3 (16:51):
Oh.
Speaker 4 (16:51):
I had no doubt that the Broncos edge rush will
have an opportunity to get out to see the shroud.
But this is the great thing about the NF is
that you're going to face good teams and you have
to show on a consistent basis that you can beat
better teams, teams that may be equivalent to you or
(17:12):
a lot better than you. Because once again, going back,
I mean, we didn't really expect too much out.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
Of the Dallas defense, right, and you play who you play.
Speaker 4 (17:20):
But once again, you have a Houston Texas team that
they're healthy defensively, their issues are offensively wide receivers and
also protection.
Speaker 3 (17:30):
So for CJ.
Speaker 4 (17:32):
Stroud, right, not that anyone would applaud someone being injured,
but they're thinking, okay, well, with PS two being out,
the things down fall in our favor. We have out
a couple of opportunities. We just have to exploit them.
But Kansas City is thinking the same thing right now.
It is news to their ears. That's one less guy
they have to worry about defensively now where you had
(17:54):
a third of the field cut off, now they're thinking
that it's wide and it's bads. It goes back to
these teams show that they have the ability to exploit it.
Speaker 3 (18:04):
But I go, I'll go back to this.
Speaker 4 (18:06):
At the end of the day, coverage and pass rush
are married together, and as long as the Broncos have
those bookend edge rushers, it makes everything easier in the backfield.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
They came into this game against Dallas with everybody available
to play.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
Now they leave the game.
Speaker 1 (18:22):
We have Marvin Mims concussion protocol. Nady Adkins, we don't
know what's going to happen with him. He's he's a
little banged up there. And then now passer ten. But
for the for the remainder of it, it's all. It's
all right there. It's all it's all right there. And
Drake Greenlaw, like I said, is going to be back
this week, which is going.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
To be massive for that defense.
Speaker 4 (18:39):
Here's here's where injuries always stressed a team out on
nine to side of the ball. So now we're talking
about two guys and Chris Abrams, Drain and John day
Barron who were reserved guys, Nickel, whatever you want to
call it, but they played a significant.
Speaker 3 (18:54):
Amount of special teams.
Speaker 4 (18:56):
Now Darren Rizzley now has to deal with this because
he's going to put us in the challenge on him
from a special team standpoint because of the personnel.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
I wonder what the second opinion is going to look
like here, because Jordan Schultz is reporting that he's going
to be looking for that second opinion. No surgeries needed though,
That's that's phenomenal news right there. So I mean, it's
gonna be kind of kind of an interesting thing here.
Maybe the second.
Speaker 2 (19:18):
Opinion means it maybe good, better news, I'm hopefully not worse.
Speaker 3 (19:21):
Maybe calls Russell for some wolverine blood.
Speaker 2 (19:25):
I don't know if that's the thing.
Speaker 3 (19:27):
Wolverine blood. Yeah, it's a thing.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
Well in the comics, but like not in real life.
Speaker 1 (19:33):
And and even Russell Wilson saying that was like one
of the all time cringe moments. It's like high knees
times of thousand, like, Hey, that wolverine blood, Hey.
Speaker 4 (19:43):
Man, belief is a strong thing. I never doubt it. Okay,
I'm just saying.
Speaker 1 (19:49):
Well, I'm hoping that the second opinion isn't calling Russell
Wilson in New York and saying, hey man, I got
this pec thing. You mind if I borrow some of
that wolverine blood.
Speaker 3 (20:00):
Hey, listen, man, they have a PRP treatment. Right, I've added.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
Myself that's not wolf reed blood.
Speaker 3 (20:06):
Well again is yellow. The plasma is is yellow.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
I can give you another can of yellow something if
you got want.
Speaker 3 (20:13):
That, all right, you can keep that one.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
Be collar number ten right now, three oh three seven
one three eighty five eighty five, Collar ten three oh

Speaker 2 (20:57):
So if you don't win today, get back in there tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (21:01):
Another red carpet Star Wars movie, New York City.
Speaker 2 (21:04):
You went to Star Wars?
Speaker 3 (21:05):
Yes, I did.
Speaker 2 (21:07):
Which was a better red carpet that? Or Iron Man three?
Speaker 3 (21:10):
Star Wars?
Speaker 2 (21:12):
That's the right answer.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
Yes, I feel relieved as a result of this news.
Now the text line doesn't completely agree. They're saying this
is a huge loss. Come on, Ryan, he's our best player.
I said he is, But the alternative of him being
out for the season was on the table in my opinion,
and I'm glad to see that it's not that. And
the detector said, I get your take, but you need
(21:34):
a little albright I think here, oh wow, wow, which,
by the ways, is sprinkle or I don't know, but
it's quite the admission that basically we need to inject
negativity into this wet blanket.
Speaker 3 (21:47):
All right.
Speaker 4 (21:47):
I don't think it's negativity that you need to inject
into it.
Speaker 3 (21:50):
Ryan is just being logical by the situation.
Speaker 2 (21:53):
Are you saying I'm not being logical about it?
Speaker 4 (21:55):
No, no, no, no, I mean just anyone for that matter,
even the TEXTA because I stand both points right, ideas
that you lose Piers two, he's a reigning defensive Player.
Speaker 3 (22:05):
Of the Year. That's gonna impact the defense.
Speaker 4 (22:07):
It's going to impact what you do offensively because this
team has been successful all season long based on what
the defense has helped him out with.
Speaker 3 (22:15):
So now you lose a key Cob and.
Speaker 4 (22:17):
Everyone thinks, Okay, well that's going to destroy everything, but
it's not. But I understand your point is that, well,
things could have been more dire because he could have
been done for the season right at four to six weeks.
Speaker 3 (22:30):
It's like raise to hand, praise the Lord, right perspective.
I get that.
Speaker 4 (22:35):
But even in that time period, the Broncos will be
tasked with trying to overcome that.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
And now more stress is.
Speaker 4 (22:44):
Being put on multiple positions. Like I told you, Damn,
Risney's gonna have pressure because some of these guys who
are going to be relying on on defense, they were
his key special teams contributors.
Speaker 3 (22:56):
So now those dudes are gonna have to put a
double duty.
Speaker 4 (22:58):
And I can tell you, as a guy that did
it for all ten years of my career, that's very
tough to play defense and then go out on putt
team or putt return and then at be asked to
run around and track guys. You better get your cardio up,
con Riz, Yes, is you cardio up?
Speaker 2 (23:16):
Yes, it's good. It's funny.
Speaker 1 (23:20):
But this is where my opinion getting Drake Greenlaw back again,
different position, but injecting that not only personality but talent
into your defense is going to do wonders for what
they're going to.
Speaker 2 (23:35):
Be able to do.
Speaker 1 (23:35):
And I think that's going to give Vance Joseph some
more flexibility in the way.
Speaker 6 (23:41):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (23:41):
I like that that flexibility, some more.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
Flexibility in what he wants to be able to do. Yeah,
I mean, yeah, of course you want to have passer
ten out there. I'm not trying to make the argument
that they're better off that to know, I'm saying that
under the circumstances, this is why you drafted the way
you did with a cornerback in the first round. This
is why you kept Chris Abrams drain around right as
a guy that was going to play some special teams
for you. But you knew as an insurance policy there
(24:04):
as an outside corner. Means Johnny Baron's gonna have to
do a little bit more, means everybody's have to do more.
Jay Quon's gonna have to do a little bit more.
Everybody is. But adding Drake Greenlaw back into this mix,
we haven't really got to experience that yet.
Speaker 3 (24:17):
Not really did Drake Greenlaw experience You.
Speaker 1 (24:20):
Had twenty one snaps, But in that time he hit
six tackles and he tattooed Jackson darted into the ground.
Speaker 2 (24:27):
I'm telling you they can survive this.
Speaker 1 (24:31):
And imagine we'll get to the end of this thing
and we'll say, hey, remember that last month of the
seas where you're gonna get past her tanback. That is
going to be transformative. As you're making a run at
the AFC West.
Speaker 3 (24:42):
Well, you can only play the cars that you're dope.
Speaker 2 (24:44):
That's right.
Speaker 3 (24:44):
And like my father would tell me, hey, you got
a man up. This is what the situation is.
Speaker 4 (24:49):
You just have to man up and go out and
play because there are no excuses.
Speaker 3 (24:54):
And even if you wanted to provide excuse.
Speaker 4 (24:57):
No one wants to hear it because there's so many
teams who are dealing with injuries. Like if you if
you Kyle Shanahan, you think Kyle Shanahan is going, oh,
I'm wea before the Denver Broncos. No, because he's dealt
with multiple of injuries.
Speaker 3 (25:10):
So the idea is that, okay, well, what can we do?
Speaker 4 (25:12):
We put PS two on IR, so that means a
lot of pressure is going to be put on which, by.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
The way, they haven't done yet, which I.
Speaker 4 (25:20):
Mean you have to anticipate that it's going to happen.
We'll see, Okay, we'll see, But for right now, Chris Abrams,
drain you and Johnny Barron, you're the two guys that
everyone's going to be watching while PS two gets healthy
and come back. Everyone's watching YouTube.
Speaker 1 (25:38):
We gotta get to this really quick before we hit traffic.
Botix with a voice the Broncos Dave Logan after the game,
we bring this to you on Monday. Here was there conversation.
Speaker 3 (25:47):
Boet's Dave Logan.
Speaker 5 (25:49):
You guys, you know last week we talked about the
great comeback in thirty three points in the fourth quarter,
had trouble getting anything going in the first three quarters.
You guys, after the first drive looked like you you
were in high gear for most of the game.
Speaker 3 (26:01):
What what was the difference to you?
Speaker 7 (26:04):
Well, I think, you know, simply put, we were able
to convert some second and third downs and then content
continue to extend drives over and over. And when you
do that, Kim methoughtically moved the ball down the field.
And you know, I just felt like in the past,
we haven't been doing that lately, but today we did
a good job of.
Speaker 5 (26:19):
Staying on the field. Yep, you got the running game going.
JK went over one hundred yards. You had four touchdown passes.
It's the third game in your short career that you've
you've been able to do that. And uh, you know,
Franklin gets a couple and Pat Bryant gets his first
touchdown reception of his career.
Speaker 3 (26:37):
That's one he's always going to remember. I can guarantee
you no doubt.
Speaker 2 (26:40):
You know, those guys are playing well for us.
Speaker 7 (26:42):
They try to clout Courtland's side, they try to do
their best to take him away, and the other guys
are making plays. And that's what you got to see,
especially down the stretch. You know, early in the season
you want to get those guys going. But now those
guys are really playing well and they're playing smart. They're
playing you know, in rhythm. They run a good rootlets
catching the football. Making guys have a guard him, and
(27:02):
that's tough.
Speaker 1 (27:03):
And you have three that.
Speaker 7 (27:03):
Are you know, spacing out the field and catching passes.
Speaker 3 (27:07):
You know, I'll get you out of here on this.
Speaker 5 (27:09):
And just off the top of my head, I was
thinking Evan Ingram's kind of quietly jumped into this thing.
He looks like a guy that you trust and makes
good catches, good decisions with the ball after he catches it.
I mean, he looked like a competent veteran receiver to
mean in the last three or four weeks.
Speaker 7 (27:26):
Yeah, no doubt. And he's you know, just like Courtland.
He's just been there, done that. He makes critical catches
in certain times. They just have to guard him differently
when he's on the field, so we get different coverages
and you know, he makes plays. I missed him insight
Bay that could have been an explosive touchdown. I got
a p I favoredness. But you know, he's just a
guy that's going to continue to get better and him
and Courtland are doing really good job as far as
(27:48):
the experienced ones, allowing those younger guys to play behind him.
Speaker 3 (27:51):
No doubt about it. Bo enjoy this one. We'll see
you this week.
Speaker 7 (27:55):
Thank you so much, Cabarcos.
Speaker 1 (27:56):
All right, so you can check out all of the
postgame interviews Troy Franklin, Pat Bryant, Zach Allen, and of
course Bonnicks, all on demand at kwacolorado dot com. A
popular popular topic on the text line today.
Speaker 2 (28:15):
People love to talk about it.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
I think part of it was used sitting in that
obnoxious text in earlier about receivers literally being paid millions
of dollars to do this job, and it's like as
if any one of us could.
Speaker 2 (28:26):
Do well, that's what I'm getting at. If I could
do the job, they'd pay me millions to do it.
I cannot do the job.
Speaker 1 (28:32):
Zach Stevens from DNVR is saying that there's hope that
PS two can avoid injured reserve.
Speaker 8 (28:37):
That was the hope last night. I don't know that
that's they were waiting on second tests for that. I
would say that the minimum, the best way to look
at this is it's a minimum two week injury and
you go from there. But they were waiting on a
second round of tests with this thing, and I don't
know where that landed.
Speaker 1 (28:51):
But the nice thing when you talk about the two weeks, right,
you got a Thursday night football game on the other
side of this Texans game, and then you have a
ton of to ten day right by, and then you
have an actual buy after the Chiefs game, which at
this point and I kind of felt like this earlier
in the day when we were talking about it, I
was like, listen, whatever it is, you're probably out through
the buy like whatever it is. And that's kind of
(29:12):
a good situation, right, I mean, you don't want to
lose him ever, but investigaatese scenario is through the by,
Let's assess this thing for the Washington primetime game, and
if he's not available for that, then you look to
the Raiders game after that, and you sort of take
a week to week after that.
Speaker 8 (29:27):
Yeah, I mean, if you're going to be if you're
going to miss four games, I mean, the Texans they
got a hell of the defense, they're still trying to
figure things out on offense.
Speaker 2 (29:34):
The Raiders just stink Kansas City.
Speaker 8 (29:37):
You'd want certain for that, but you know whatever, and
then the Commander's game, I think you'd you know, I mean,
I guess you'd want him for that, but that doesn't
feel like that that's necessary. Then you get the Raiders again,
you know, after that, and then you know, you get
the Packers. So this kind of I mean, none of
this is never positive when somebody gets injured, but your
recovery timeline based on what you need ended up, you know,
(29:59):
kind of looking like at my work out.
Speaker 4 (30:02):
What do you think is gonna happen as far as
the defensive scheme with PS two being out, Because Ryan
and I we're talking about it before you came on
that with the reigning defensive player of the Year out
is going to put stress on the defense. And I
told Dave earlier that I expect to see a little
more of dick lebou fire zone. I mean, with PS
(30:23):
two out, what do you think that I guess band's
just gonna lean on.
Speaker 8 (30:27):
I think I think you're gonna move away from single
high and I think you're gonna go a lot of
two deep man under Now, Vance has been known to
dial some stuff up, so you will dial stuff up too.
If you're if you're leaving guys out there, But you
can't leave Moss and Abram's drain out there on islands
and think that you know, you're gonna get away with that,
you know, all game long, every game, you know. I
(30:47):
think Moss is a better player than people think, but
he gets flagged at a at a high rate for
whatever reason. Uh, some of them feel like some uh
little little bunk on the calls. That's not all of
some of them feel pretty bunk, you know. I I
think an Ingram's dream will be the first man out.
By the way, they still love having Joday as the
(31:08):
rotational backup guy for inside and out and all that
kind of stuff.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
I think you I think you're probably gonna.
Speaker 8 (31:14):
See a lot more you know, two shell with man
underneath it that that field. I mean, that's what fans
is traditionally done when he runs out it, when when
corners start biting the dust late in seasons. I think
you're right on the fire zone stuff though. I mean,
they'll bring more pressure than they normally do. They normally
they're sending five. They'll bring more six and seven and
and they'll they'll have more zones out there to help
take some of the strain off some of these, some
(31:36):
of these corners.
Speaker 2 (31:37):
Grants, you're the man. Great job as always, Nick, this
was a lot of fun.
Speaker 3 (31:42):
Good job, Thank you appreciate having me.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
Yep, looking forward to a hearing Ben and Brocos Country
Today coming up next
