Speaker 1 (00:00):
Doctor David Scheider, brought to you by Ortho Colorado Hospital,
part of Common Spirit Health.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Go to Orthocolorado dot org. Doctor Snider. Always great to
catch up with you. How are you.

Speaker 3 (00:08):
I'm doing great. I'm still luxuriating in the Broncos win,
even though it's a Tuesday.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Absolutely well.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
And you know, you got the bye week so you
get to sort of space this out. We don't have
to immediately get ready for the next game. So I'm
one hundred percent with you and I seeing the text
line today see Twitter, they're all they're all kind of
basking in as well. But we did get some some
injury news over the weekend. I want to ask you
about JK. Dobbins and the Liz Frank injury. Now, you
said last week that you were concerned that this might

(00:36):
maybe shut him down for the season.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
It certainly looks to be the case.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
It does look like it. And they're floating the word
Liz Frank, which listeners to this show will know that's
a joint one word. It's not short for like Elizabeth Frank,
it's one word List Frank, who is actually involved with
Napoleon back in the day. Liz Frank joints that are
in the middle of the foot. You cannot mess around
with that. So these little ligaments tear in the middle

(01:03):
of your foot and it gets injured, exactly like Wesaw JK.
Dobbins get injured when you get that hip drop tackle
and it happens to you. That's how guys get this injury.
And you know, we in retrospect find out that he
had surgery, respect you know, full recovery, but it would
not be surprising at all if he's done for the season.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
Sadly, are you all surprised that almost immediately on the
heels of that, there was this idea floated out if
the Broncos were in the Super Bowl in February, that
he could be available.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
Is that possible?

Speaker 3 (01:36):
I think it is. You know what's different about the
way the sports medicine happens now is that we now
having such accelerated recovery timelines, can think forward and say, well, heck,
we always talk about three months and in your training, well,
let's do the math to get to February. You could
actually do that. And I would say one thing, that's great,

(01:59):
Kudos to the Broncos new doctors now very much aggressive
and partnering that way. You know, those guys are outstanding surgeons,
and by the way they operate at orthur Colorado Hospital
that they actually do the time tap on them. Think
there's a chance, fellas, if we make it that far
we get a JK back ready to go, well.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
That would be a heck of a carrot to put
out there.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
I know he's very popular in the locker room, certainly
popular with the fan base, but obviously a lot of
games to happen between now and then. Now we got
the bye week here, the Broncos opting not to put
paser ten on IR, which I guess arguably would put
him in line potentially to play in the Washington game
coming up on Sunday night next week. Same thing question

(02:44):
I guess for Alex Singleton, as we talked to you
about him last week.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
Is there a possibility we can see these guys?

Speaker 3 (02:51):
I think so. I think the Singleton recovery to me
is much more likely, which is amazing. Again, it really
speaks to how modern medicine is just completely changed or
just over the last decade, so that Alex Singleton can
have that operation through a small incision to remove his
cancerous testicle and be ready to go and talk about

(03:12):
beast mode. I don't know if you're team made of his.
There are no excuses left, right.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Right, one hundred percent. And so for the same thing
for I mean, obviously different injury. But for patser Tan,
now we'll be at that four week mark, and you know,
he seems like each time we've had him on Fridays,
he says he's getting better and better.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
Right, So I think what we can conclude that Atsertain's
tech injury was not only a partial tear, but even
not that retracted. If we were talking about anything about
his legs, his hamstrings, that kind of thing, you know,
for a speed merchant on a corner, that he wouldn't
fiddle around with that, But for a partial tech injury.

(03:56):
I suspect we're going to the fact that they haven't
talked anything about being on the IR. I think for
sure we're going to see im November thirtieth.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
At this point, do you feel like you'll have to
wear some kind of brace for it? What's the apparatus
for that?

Speaker 3 (04:11):
It's similar to what you would have seen Champ Bailey wear.
If anyone googles champ Bailey, you'll see that black armband
around your biceps and it connects with a strap into
your actual shoulder pads. That chest plate in the front
has a buckle that you can put that into. And
then what it does is restricts your arm extension to

(04:32):
like flyaway if you are on a bench doing flies
that it keeps you from doing that and protects your
peck from tearing.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Of course, remarkable, Doctor Schneider. Always great to catch up
with you. We will chat with you next week.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
Ockwise.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Thanks all, I appreciate it, Doctor Dave Sneider.
