Speaker 1 (00:00):
Rod Smith will be in studio.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
I'm sure sure he's going to be pretty fired up
about the win over the Kansas City Chiefs, the Broncos
being the one seed currently as we head into week
twelve of the NFL slate.
Speaker 1 (00:12):
Again, you heard Rob Dawson there at the top of
the hour.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
We'll have another update here at bottom of the hour,
the latest on the EPSTEM files release.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
He'll have all that news.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
And it continues to be a story that we're all tracking,
no doubt about it.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
By the way.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
Shout out to Patrick of Denver on Twitter sending me
the seven to eleven post saying Dragon Slayer sixty nine
drinking slurpy and living rent free. Sounds like a sounds
like bro is winning to me. So that was in
response to and then the shrug emoji. So that was
in response to what Adam Troutman said, take it a
shot at some of the online criticism that bo Nix
(00:45):
has been receiving five six, six nights zero is o
ka with Comma spirit, He'll text line all right. So
we didn't get a chance to get to this either yesterday,
but I thought this was really funny. Some people had
brought this up on the text line that Sean Payton
was I don't know. He was clapping back in a
couple of Broncos reporters. We already know about the history
there with Chris Thomason, and that's been well documented at
(01:07):
this point. And now Luca Evans, who we also like
quite a bit. Luca Evans does a really good job.
He also got clapped back recently in one of the
video press conferences when I want to say he was
asking about tempo, but anyways, he asked about tempo in
the press conference.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
But first, here's.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
Chris Thomason asking Sean about JK Dobbins, because it was
the first time that the media has seen and met
up with Sean since the news came out on Saturday
that JK Dobbins was going on I OR and the
expectation was that he was going to be out for
the remainder of the season. So I understand why Chris
Thomason asked about JK. And here's what the exchange sounded like.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Sean, what can you say to us about JK. Dobbins's
injury situation?
Speaker 3 (01:51):
And a few updates. I'll keep you posting.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
Is he out for the season?
Speaker 3 (01:54):
Updates?
Speaker 1 (01:55):
I'll keep you posting and then just next question with
the Running game to next question your thoughts in the
Running game?
Speaker 3 (02:00):
Thought was good enough?
Speaker 1 (02:02):
Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
Now, in fairness to Sean for a second, he doesn't
want to talk about injuries like ever, you probably could
be a little more Again, this is he can do
whatever he wants, but he can be a little more transparent.
And the guy's going on IR like you have announced
that as a team, right, So Chris is not breaking
(02:25):
a story. This isn't like out there with the New
York Jets when we recently had kind of that that
back and forth with the media and the frustration about
the Garrett Wilson reporting right from Rich Shamini, that obviously
was a little bit of a different thing because it
felt like he maybe was getting ahead of things for
(02:46):
Aaron Glynn. Aaron Glynn sort of clapping at the media saying, well,
why don't you just ask Rich, He can tell you
everything about what's going on. A little bit different there.
He was reporting that Garrett Wilson was going to go
on IR based somewhat things he was hearing, and by
the way, he was right. Garrett Wilson did go on
IR for what it's worth. But this is different.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
JK.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
Dobbins is on IR. He was placed on i R
on Saturday.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
So in defending Chris thomasin first saying he was just
asking about a player that was placed on IR, he
was asking the follow up of what's the timeline?
Speaker 1 (03:21):
And that's where we.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
Get into the more gray area for Sean where he
doesn't want to talk about injuries. And he's made that
very clear, and that's why I understand why Sean responded
the way he did.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
But next question, next question, too funny.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
And then a couple of moments later, Luca, again we
love Luca asking about in the game, how it felt
like the Broncos maybe went a little more up tempo
sewn that that third quarter touchdown drive just looks like
it looked like you guys were moving quicker, a little
bit more.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Of temple questions.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
Let's go get your call.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
You did did you did you run? Did you did
you go?
Speaker 3 (03:57):
I don't know there were there were two, there were
three plays. Basically we tempoed one.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
I felt sometimes you hurried to beat maybe a challenge.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
And so anyway, next question.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
So great, It's a good question. It really, I mean
it really is. Actually, I think Luca does a great job.
I'm both him and Chris do a great job with
their questions. But that was it is a good question,
and it is something noticeable, and they did play with
a little bit of tempo, and it seemed like when
the offense gets to the line a bit faster and
(04:34):
they have time to set things up, Boe as a
chance to take a look at what the defense is doing.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Players have a chance to get set.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
They just tend to work better instead of working late
into the clock play clock and then finding out, well,
now we have to call a time out or the
delay or I mean we saw that in the fourth
down try, and we.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
Talked about it yesterday.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
It was actually benefit that Mike McGlinchey ended up flinching
there and they got the five yard penalty because the
pass was going to be incomplete to Corland sudden and
they would have had a turnover on downs in negative territory. Instead,
they ended up punting it away and Babe Jeremy Crosshaw
what a or punt he had setting it up at
(05:22):
the ten yard line and the Broncos would get the
ball back and they would end up pointing the game.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
But The point of it is is.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
Like that was a penalty that they ended up benefiting
the Broncos in a moment of course, where kind of
up to your old tricks going too late in the
play clock. That's got to be something that as we
move into these final six games, they got to continue
to work on the too many pre snap penalties. The
offense specifically is having those issues still this late in
(05:50):
the season.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
It's got to be it's got to be addressed. Now.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
Sean Payton gave everybody the week off. He gave I
mean everybody the week off, coaches, everybody, which is great.
I'm fully supportive of that. In fact, it was the
Raiders game that it became abundantly clear to me that
this team needed a mental break. A physical break too,
(06:14):
but a mental break from the season. And you know,
cause I remember watching him and I love Tim Jenkins.
He does a wonderful job. One of his breakdowns after
the Raiders game say well, Bo's got to be coached
hard after this game, and I was like, man, I
think he's being coached too hard. And I know nobody
wants to say that or hear that, because you're thinking, boy,
(06:36):
he looked terrible.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
Out there.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
Sean's got to be on him, and it's like, I
think part of the reason he was looking the way he.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
Was doing is it was too much going on upstairs.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
So the mental break part of this is so significant,
and I'm thrilled that the Sean Payton and the staff
ultimately decided, Hey, we'll see you back here on Monday,
and that's gonna be paid evidence. It really is, and
you're gonna get healthier. The expectation to have pastor tan
Alex Singleton, maybe Nate Adkins, maybe you'll get Jonah Ellis
(07:09):
back too. I mean you you might really be in
pretty good shape here for the stretch run a knock
on wood. Of course, the running back thing is gonna
be a big discussion point, and I'm sure over the
this week and into next week we'll continue to do that.
As I sit here today, my lean is to continue
to invest in R. J.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
Harvey. We got questions here on the text.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
I'd asking me, okay, Ben has been referencing that the
Broncos will add a body. I think they will add
a body. I don't know what that's gonna look like.
It's not somebody that's gonna be coming in and taking
starter snaps. So whoever they end up going, whether somebody
brought Upcaus headwards or it's gonna be Latavious Murray. Are
he something along those lines, A bigger body running back.
I wouldn't expect a high level of production from that
(07:50):
running back. I would say this is the R. J.
Harvey and Julia McLoughlin show, though I will say this
the percentages and the usage.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
It was R J.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
Harvey and then Julia McLoughlin. And I know that he
got the touchdown, but he only got eight snaps, So
I I mean, I don't know for the fantasy people
or onether wise, I don't know if that immediately tilts
where you go swing and get Jalil McLoughlin and maybe
maybe there is a bigger role for him on the
other side of all this. He's got fresh legs. But
(08:21):
I would continue to invest in R. J. Harvey if
I'm the Broncos. Doctor David Scheider brought to you by
Ortho Colorado Hospital, part of Common Spirit Health.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
Go to Orthocolorado dot org. Doctor Schneider. Always great to
catch up with you. How are you.
Speaker 4 (08:35):
I'm doing great. I'm still luxuriating in the Broncos win
even though it's a Tuesday.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
Absolutely well, and you know you got the bye week
so you get to sort of space this out. We
don't have to immediately get ready for the next game.
So I'm one hundred percent with you and I seeing
the text line today see on Twitter, they're all they're
all kind of basking in as well.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
But we did get some some injury news over the weekend.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
I want to ask you about JK. Dobbins and the
Liz Frank injury. Now used to said last week that
you were concerned that this might maybe shut him down
for the season.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
It certainly looks to be the case.
Speaker 4 (09:07):
It does look like it. And they're floating the word
Liz Frank, which listeners to this show will know that's
a joint. One word. It's not short for like Elizabeth Frank.
It's one word Lis Frank, who is actually involved with
Napoleon back in the day, Liz Frank. Joints that are
in the middle of the foot. You cannot mess around
with that. So these little ligaments tear in the middle
(09:30):
of your foot and it gets injured, exactly like we
saw JK. Dobbins get injured. When you get that hip
drop tackle and it happens to you. That's how guys
get this injury. And you know, we in retrospect find
out that he had surgery, respect full recovery, but it
would not be surprising at all if he's done for
the season.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Sadly, are you all surprised that almost immediately on the
heels of that, there was this idea floated out if
the Broncos were in the Super Bowl in February, that
he could be available possible.
Speaker 4 (10:02):
I think it is. You know what's different about the
way the sports medicine happens now is that we now
having such accelerated recovery timelines, can think forward and say, well, heck,
we always talk about three months and in your training,
well let's do the math to get to February. You
could actually do that. And I would say one thing,
(10:24):
that's great, kudos to the Broncos new doctors now very
much aggressive and partnering that way. You know, those guys
are outstanding surgeons and by the way they operate at
Orthro Colorado Hospital that they actually do the timetable and
think there's a chance, fellas if we make it that far,
(10:44):
we get a JK back ready to go.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
Well, that would be a heck of a carrot to
put out there.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
I know he's very popular in the locker room, is
certainly popular with the fan base, but obviously a lot
of games to happen between now and then. Now we
got the bye week here, the Broncos opting not to
put passer tan on ir, which I guess arguably would
put him in line potentially to play in the Washington
game coming up on Sunday night next week. Same thing
(11:10):
question I guess for Alex Singleton, as we talked to
you about him last week, is there a possibility we
can see these guys?
Speaker 4 (11:17):
I think so. I think the Singleton recovery to me
is much more likely, which is amazing. Again, it really
speaks to how modern medicine has just completely changed just
over the last decade. So that Alex Singleton can have
that operation through a small incision to remove his cancerous
testicle and be ready to go and talk about beast mode.
(11:41):
I don't know, if you're a teamate of his, there
are no excuses left right.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
Right, no one hundred percent and so for the same
thing for I mean obviously different injury, but for Patzertan
now we'll be at that four week mark, and you know,
he seems like each time we've had him on Fridays,
he says he's getting better and better.
Speaker 4 (12:00):
Right, So I think what we can conclude that Patzertan's
heck injury was not only a partial tear, but even
not that retracted. If we were talking about anything about
his legs, his hamstrings, that kind of thing. You know,
for a speed merchant on the corner that he wouldn't
fiddle around with that, but for a partial tech injury.
(12:22):
I suspect we're going to the fact that they haven't
talked anything about him being on the IR. I think
for sure we're going to see him November thirtieth.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
At this point, do you feel like you'll have to
wear some kind of brace for it? What's the apparatus
for that?
Speaker 4 (12:37):
It's similar to what you would have seen Champ Bailey wear.
If anyone googles Champ Bailey, you'll see that black armband
around your biceps and it connects with a strap into
your actual shoulder pads. That chest plate in the front
has a buckle that you can put that into, and
then what it does is restricts your arm extension. To
(12:58):
like flyway if you were on a bench doing flies
that it keeps you from doing that and protects your
peck from tearing worse.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
Remarkable, Dr Schneider, always great to catch up with you.
We will chat with you next week.
Speaker 4 (13:12):
Bwise.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
I appreciate it, Doctor Dave Schneider.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
Brought to you by Ortho Colorado Hospital, part of Common
Spirit Health.
Speaker 1 (13:17):
Go to Orthoclorado dot org.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
Will have Shelby Harris joining us next Shelby Harris joining
us here on the show.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
Shelby, my friend. Good to catch up with you. How
are you. I'm good, I'm doing great.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
I'm doing great, man, Like, I really really.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
Thought you guys might pull that game out. Well, the
Mark Andrews play was so dumb, and I mean just I.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
Wanted to get your thoughts on it because you know,
everybody's celebrating it. I'm like, I don't even know what
I just saw there. But I thought you guys played
a hell of a game. I thought you guys had
that one in a lot of ways. And the League
can be so cruel sometimes, man.
Speaker 3 (13:59):
You know, on defense, that was a tough one. You know,
it was an opportunity that felt like we felt like
slipped out of our hands. And a credit to them though.
They made the plays and you know that Mark Andrews playing,
you know, that was the hell of a design. Yeah,
that was definitely something you got to think, we're we're
defending the middle, they're going, that's a classic QB sneak
look and they go and they do QB sneak out
(14:20):
of it with the tight end. You know, it's nice.
That was a very good play design. So all the
credit to them, you know, it's just you know that
and that's you know, that's football though. So it's only
the next week we got the Raiders coming up, but
you know, that's that's that's a loss that you know,
you can take something from though, because obviously on the
deepensive side of the ball, you know, we we played
(14:40):
it a good game. Obviously we have facts and all that,
but there's always something you can improve on. It's always
something to get better on, and we just have to
be more resilient throughout the game. And that's just our
standard on defense, and that's how we always want to
that's how we always want to, you know, hold ourselves
and great oars and keep ourselves at that standards.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
Yeah, no, doubt and I love that. I love that
about players. It's like, hey, there's no excuse for it.
We just you got to kind of move on. And
and that's a little bit of the nature of the
league certainly, is say the players are going to happen.
They're they're getting paid to And I know we talk
about that on the other side of the ball too sometimes,
is hey, the defense gets paid to stop you. You
get paid to try to move the ball against them,
and moments like that are going to happen. You mentioned
(15:19):
the Raiders. Uh, what are your former teams coming up here?
I know both both of you guys, the seasons are
probably not gone the way that you were hoping for. Uh,
for a moment, and then I have some other questions
about the AFC in general to get to, but for
a moment in this game, when you're taking on a
team that has also kind of had some tough times,
I mean, what are those games kind of like like
(15:40):
in the trenches in the midst of those games? I mean,
is everybody still fighting very hard at this point in
the season.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
What was the mindset?
Speaker 3 (15:49):
So the way I look at this is, and you know,
I want everybody to understand This is for your job.
Every week in this league. You are fighting for our
spot here next year. You are fighting if you want
to play getting longer. Because it's the thing a lot
(16:09):
of the people don't, you know, your only teams are
struggling right now, teams on the league a running picking
twos who they weren't. But a lot of people assume
that you're part of the problem. So these at games,
like you know that we got seven games off and
like you know, luckily obviously an opposition dafty North hasn't
broken away yet, so the obviousity is still a lot,
(16:32):
you know, for us. You know, people can say that
you know, we're out or whatever, but it's still all
to fight for us. And how you perform down the
stretch will be used either to your advantage or to
your disadvantage going into next year, you know. And and
and that's what a lot of people have to realize,
and people especially outside of the game. And there is
(16:54):
no such thing as tanking with players. There's no such
thing as giving up because that could be your last play,
that could be the last thing you ever play in
this league. Sure, so no matter what you going there,
you've given a hundred percent effort with the preparation, and
you give a hundreds of effort with the you know,
with the execution, and it's just because the records aren't
what they're you know, you expect them to be. The
(17:16):
effort never changes and that preparation never changes. And that's
the opinion me of being a pro. Well, even when
things are at their best or at the lowest, you know,
you still prepare to say and you still are one
hundreds of you know, ready to go out there and
play the game.
Speaker 2 (17:33):
I love that. Got to be a pro. I absolutely
love that Shelby Harris joining us here. Brogo's got a
really big win over the Kansas City Chiefs, and you
did a lot of battles against the Chiefs again here
in Denver. But during the Mahomes era, it's it's one
of those deals where I'm not saying that the Chiefs
dynasty is dead, because I think that's one of those
(17:54):
like things we don't really say out loud because they
still have that guy and they still have that coaching staff.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
But what do you make of the chief struggles in
general this year?
Speaker 3 (18:04):
Well, I've always you know, the last couple of years,
you know that Mahomes magic has kind of bailed them
out in a lot of these situations, and a lot
of this is now is where the point where there's
too much to overcome. And for the last couple of
years we've been saying that the chief, you know, we've
been expected them to take, you know, take a step back,
(18:26):
and somehow they's kept figuring out and figuring out. And
it was always like they figured out last second, that
was last, last last drive of the game, come back
and win, last type of the game, come back and win. Well,
it's just starting to fizzle out. That's just not happening more.
And that's actually what's happening is happening to them now.
Everyone's starting to come beat them the last time of
(18:46):
the game, and they're starting to they're struggling mahomes and
nigga uncanny mistakes. It's just but like I'm not saying,
don't ever count them out, because all you need in
this league is a quarterback, and they do. They have
a quarterback. They have passed USh and so evasically they're
going to be They're going to figure out. They struggled
a lot this year because you know, their starting tackle
(19:07):
has been out personal reasons and so, and we all
know to get to Mahomes, you have to pressure him,
and so he's been pressured like crazy. So now obviously
the industries are aspecting them to find a way to
fight back and somehow make the playoffs. But I always
will feel like until they once again go back all
(19:29):
and find a way to address their O line issues,
because obviously that's a mission for them right now. So
once they find a way to address their O line issues,
offensive we found them. But a big reason that they're
struggling year also is for Checko's hurt, Like you know
that that was a big part of their team. But
I think the Chiefs in general zone we've always kept
talking about they they really haven't gotten much better year
(19:51):
to year, but now all the teams around that have jumped,
you know, their talent has jumped, and now it's hard
for the Chiefs to really play this dominant Brandon football
how they did before because all the teams around them
have gotten way better.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
Yeah, I wanted to ask you about that.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
I was thinking about it earlier today, and I know
we've kind of touched on it a little bit before,
but it does seem like some of the main stays
I guess if you will, the Ravens, the Chiefs, and
even the Buffalo Bills. I mean, I know there's seven
to three, but there's been some head scratching moments from
that team this year. It's not to say that they're done,
(20:26):
and I don't think that that would be. Again, you
don't want to be in that position because if they
make the postseason, they're gonna be very dangerous, even if
they're traveling. But there's a lot of teams that don't
seem to be as scared of them, or they have
this sort of dominance in the regular season that we're
used to seeing. I mean the Broncos for example, I
mean being the Chiefs, but you saw the Patriots go
on the road and beat the Bills in their house.
(20:47):
The Colts have gone toe to toe with teams and
they got the Chiefs this week. Will be interesting to
see how they play against them. Just not seeing the
main stays that were used to in the AFC specifically
be as dominant.
Speaker 1 (20:57):
What do you make of that.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
I always, you know, everyone's always due for a down year.
I wouldn't assume that it's it's going to be a
complete reversal. But what that does say, though, is that
there's a new era coming up. There are some new
guys coming up that are going to make a name
for them. So Daniel Jones's resurgence is it for real?
You know what I mean? Like we talk about these
(21:20):
other teams that are kind of harding to step up,
and it's these new players like Justin like the Chargers
and Justin Herbert and Justin Herbert finally going to take
that next step. And these are always the questions that
we have before the season, and now we're actually seeing
it play out. And you know, it's only I feel
like for years, it's always going to be you know,
are we always going to give this league way to people?
(21:41):
Are you going to finally take that next step and
become this team that we know they can And we're
actually seeing it this year, and we're seeing the you know,
these teams beat the teams that the main the main
stays up before, so we're actually just seeing the more competition.
It's just for me, this is one of the best
seasons I've seen when it comes to competition and that
(22:06):
that is just refreshing for me because for a while
it seemed like it was the disparity was getting wider
and wider. So I love that if there is so
much competition, and and it's always been all the thing
has always been any gettings, anything Sunday, any team can
always winning an NFL. But now we're really seeing these
teams who say they think about the Patriots and the coach,
(22:27):
nobody think anything from this year. And they're two to
the top teams in the AFC, you know what I mean.
And so it's just following the Broncos of the last
year nobody took anything from one of the top teams
in the NFC. So now we're seeing these these teams
actually you know that we're down bad. The draft picks
to start in there actually got produced for them. All
their rights, all their free agent signs are actually producing
(22:47):
for them. And so now you're seeing these teams actually
come out and be competitive and win games.
Speaker 2 (22:52):
I'm one hundred percent with you, and I think as
a fan of a football and a fan of the NFL,
it is a very good thing. I do wonder though,
sometimes like we we lawd parody and we say it's
a good thing for the league. It's good that you
can basically sell to your fan bases every single year, Hey,
why not us? Why can't this be the year that
we take off? And you said it perfectly. You know,
(23:12):
people had some thoughts about the Broncos maybe taking a
step forward, but there were plenty of detractors. New England Patriots,
everybody thought they maybe a year away because they got
a new coaching staff and a young quarterback. And very
few people expected much out of the Indianapolis Colts when
they had a in season or a training camp competition
between Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones.
Speaker 1 (23:30):
But here we are.
Speaker 2 (23:31):
So when I ask you the question if parody is
a good thing, I think it is. But from a
marketing standpoint, it always felt like the NFL probably would
say that, but they would hope that the best team
like the Chiefs, the most marketable teams, the Chiefs would
be in there. They'd hope that you know, some of
the bigger market even teams that maybe the York teams,
(23:53):
but you know, the Eagles are obviously a darling now
because of what they've done. It always feels like the
more marketing team, marketing centric teams would be what the
NFL probably rooted for.
Speaker 3 (24:03):
Do you think what are we trying to do? As
they league expand all this and all over the international
game platform, We're trying to go all over the place.
And these teams that were like hiding up or putting
at the forefront, we need them to do good like nobody.
You know, obviously with Jayden Daniels and the Commanders, nobody
(24:24):
searches them to be three and eight. Yeah, and they
had it. You know, they go to this international game.
You want to see Jaydon Daniels, you get Marcus Mariota.
Like this is the league is building on the hype
behind all these players, and sometimes it doesn't work out.
And that's that's just kind of what you're seeing right now,
(24:44):
especially on Houston. You know, you've seeing the general, you
see the you see these teams really struggling right now.
But these other teams were the Seattle love at all,
the other team where I wasn't much hight behind them.
These are the teams that are actually being successful right now,
one hundred percent.
Speaker 1 (25:02):
Shelby Harris joining us A last couple for you.
Speaker 2 (25:05):
So the Broncos have I mean, well, first of all,
Bonix over the first two years that he's played in
the league. Case of course he hasn't finished up his
second year, but he has more fourth quarter comebacks than
any quarterback through his first two years in NFL history,
And that's kind of been their signature this year. They're
seven to two and one score games. They've had a
multitude of fourth quarter comebacks. Not that you've paid like
(25:28):
super close attention to every single game, but in general,
a team that has a bit of that ability to close,
that ability to start sort of hanging there in those
kinds of moments, what does that?
Speaker 1 (25:40):
What do you credit that.
Speaker 3 (25:41):
To the defense? And I always say this, the defense
also bonicks and often figuring it out finally in the
fourth quarter, because a fourth quarter comeback only happens that
the defense gets stops. And I don't think i'd do
like you know, obviously we always talk about the offense
(26:01):
in these situations, for the fourth quarter comeback cannot happen
is the other team teams scoring. So the defense is
probably the most important part of a fourth quarter comeback
because you've got to you gotta keep style of them,
you got to put the team in good field position,
and and you you've got to put the best foot
forward by saving clocks three and outs. You know that
(26:22):
that's a big deal. When it comes to these fourth
quarter comebacks. But the biggest thing that's with Bonus and
the Broncos is there's no give up in them. They
really truly feel that until the cock goes to zero,
they have a chance to win the game, and it
doesn't matter who's in front of them, they're going to
figure it out. And that and that's you know that,
(26:43):
that's what you want to see out of the team
that's eight and two. You know they're like that. I
would take this whole dative about the Broncos offense because
they figure it out enough every week.
Speaker 1 (26:56):
Well it ultimately that matters. That matters the most, right
all that down, that's all that matters.
Speaker 3 (27:02):
I don't care about the stats. I don't care about
this is putting up four hundred yards a game. He
could be like Matt Stafford and Detroit put up four
hundred yards a game and lose. But like, what they're
doing is, yeah, it's not the numbers are not great,
but they're finding a way to win. And once it
does click, yes, it's gonna look way better. But all
they're doing, they're playing football, and it's like and I'll
(27:24):
look at it right now with like with baseball. There's
teams in baseball. There's there's teams in baseball right now
who truly only truly only like play, you know, for
the home run. They truly only play for you know,
the big play like that. But then you have teams
to actually go out there and play real baseball. And
(27:44):
that's what the Broncos are doing. Run and then they
don't care about the stats, they don't care about any
of that other stuff. They're going out there just some
win games.
Speaker 2 (27:51):
Hey man, is that a fire alarm behind you? You gotta
get out of there.
Speaker 3 (27:54):
Oh yeah, my wife's cooker.
Speaker 2 (27:56):
Oh okay, all right, what's for ritter tonight?
Speaker 3 (28:00):
Okay, so it's supposed to be something like a Cuban
chicken dish with you know, like Cuban rice.
Speaker 2 (28:07):
Yeah, okay, all right, well, well you know, tell her,
let's let's uh, you know, center the smoke a little bit,
you know.
Speaker 1 (28:14):
I mean, that's a I was always I was worried
about you. There for a second.
Speaker 3 (28:19):
I almost had to look, Well.
Speaker 2 (28:23):
Listen, if it's in the house, you gotta get the
wife of kids out right, I mean, don't be like
George Costanza and run through start pushing people down.
Speaker 3 (28:32):
Oh no, I can't leave the kids behind, but you
can throw them out the windows behind.
Speaker 1 (28:40):
All right. Man, Well, hey, listen, you're the best.
Speaker 2 (28:42):
I always love catching up with you, and I think
what you said is perfect. I mean, you know, you
got Jacoby Brissette, by the way, this last week saying
an NFL record was forty seven completions, four hundred and
fifty two yards and two touchdowns.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
That's nice. They lost forty one to twenty two.
Speaker 2 (28:56):
I guarantee Jacoby Brissette would be more than fine with
half of those stats in a win, none of those tats.
Speaker 3 (29:03):
I always tell people that if the quarterback throws the ball,
usually if the quarterback throws the ball in one twenty
five times a game, a lot of time they lose.
And the best number before a quarterback to be throwing
the ball is between twenty they're twenty five times a
game and running ball in between. But when you have
forty five places more like you're losing the whole game.
And so that means you abandoned the run game, and
(29:26):
it's it's never going to be successful. But you know
that's great for the you know, that's great for the
you know, the trophy room. That's a great accomplishing you
able to say. I'm sure he'd much rather have the
win one hundred percent.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
All right, brother, well, I appreciate you. Good luck this
weekend against the Raiders, get a win over another AFC
West team. We always love that. Thank you.
Speaker 3 (29:47):
I appreciate you, guys.
Speaker 1 (29:48):
I appreciate you too. Shelby Harris, I was like, dinner's
gonna be awesome too. Yeah, that's what I was thinking about,
is like the fire alarm going off.
Speaker 2 (29:57):
And he just is like, yeah, the why George Costanza
so great? I don't even know if Shelby got that reference.
I mean I hope you hope he did, but it's
a little bit dated. It'd be careful. I remember one
time there was a like, you can't go back more
than twenty five years on some references because unless it's
(30:19):
like something.
Speaker 1 (30:19):
That is just well known, so well known.
Speaker 2 (30:22):
That everybody gets it, because you lose so much of
your audience, So twenty five years that doesn't feel like
a lot. But then you think, well, twenty nine years
is two thousand at this point, and so that reference
was way outside that range, like way outside that range.
So there might be some people out there like Seinfeld. Yeah,
I may have heard of it. I remember that episode.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
I've been on a benche lately, have you nice? Just
watch the switch episode?
Speaker 2 (30:50):
Oh okay, yeah, the menaj Attoas of course, I'm not
sure if I'm saying it correctly. Yeah, well I think
you've yeah, right, nice, Nice. Uh, we're we're watching Will
and Grace a little bit because the kids. The kids
kind of got into that one. So that's that's one
we'd Veggie. I do want to introduce them to Seinfeld though.
That's that that is kind of it feels like the level.
(31:12):
You know, I got two teenagers. I think they need
to get most of the jokes. But they'd probably be like,
why are these narcissists getting to have their own show?
And it's like, yeah, I mean that's you have to get.
You wouldn't understand. This is the nineties, the nineties and
you know so, but they've so far understood. And I
I almost introduced them to Friends because I know that
(31:32):
Nick Ferguson is a big Friends guy, but I don't know, man,
Friends doesn't hold up for me as well.
Speaker 1 (31:37):
Oh we've been watching that one too, have you Okay?
Speaker 2 (31:40):
All right, well, I have to throwing it back to
the nineties with the sitcoms. It's a simpler time back there. Really,
all right, we'll get that interview with Shelby up at
Katwaitcolorado dot com. I if he.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
Wasn't having the fire warm up. I asked him about Giannis.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
There was some news that Giannice is gonna miss a
couple of weeks and boy his Milwaukee Bucks.
Speaker 3 (31:57):
If that's so?
Speaker 2 (32:00):
But icy there, But they play in the East, doesn't
really matter, like they're ninth and who cares because they'll
they'll be the playoffs. They'll be fine, right, and then
you don't have to worry about it. Eight if you
have a winning record, you might be a top four
seed in the East. Or meanwhile, for the Nuggets or
ten and three, they're clinging to the second seed in
(32:21):
the Western Conference. But they've got a bunch of jackals
right behind them. The Houston Rockets are nine and three,
The Lakers are ten and four. They're about to get
Lebron back. The Spurs are nine and four. Now they
have Wimby. Whimby's gonna be out for a while. That's
that's a really big deal. In the minnesot Temper Wolves
are nine and five. So there's a lot of really
good teams there at the top of the West.
Speaker 1 (32:38):
As you guys know, we're gonna have.
