Speaker 1 (00:00):
We had to the kaw Common Spirit Health hotline and

(00:02):
bring on the one and only romy Bean Rome underscore
Bean on Twitter from CBS four. Robie got a really
special shout out during Bronco Shreek Act on Sunday Nights
as Uh Skillett called in and invited her along with
the KO staff to Las Vegas for the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Hi Roby, yeah, Hian, thanks for having me. Yeah, you
know what I mean. I was really honored. That's postgame
show in Colorado's. If you're not listening, what are you
doing when I'm driving home. I love listening in on
the way back when I head back to the station
to get ready for the kind of the rest of
the day. And did not expect. I just you know,
I love Ryan's insight, and I got a little shout

(00:39):
out from Skillett, So I was like, all right, all right,
day made Broncos beat the Chiefs and I got a
shout out from Skillett on Ryan's post game show. Oh
pretty good, Not gonna lie.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
It was very cool, And I appreciate that you texted
right away to let me know that that you're you're
in for the roadie, that that's gonna be a lot
of fun. I mean, I imagine again, you know, the
broadcast crew, you as well. I don't think your bosses
would be thrilled if you're in Las Vegas and all
the Broncos are in Santa Clara. But I like the idea.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
You know what, you know what, see what happens? Right?
Life short? Right?

Speaker 1 (01:13):
Yeah, I ask for forget this. Ben Albright a mutual
friend of ours, that's his role. He tends to do
that sort of thing. So you mentioned that the Chiefs win,
and yeah, I mean it really was Does this legitimize?
Did they need this to legitimize what they're doing this season?

Speaker 2 (01:29):
You know, I think that they did, and I think
internally it doesn't necessarily change maybe the beliefs that they've
had all along, but I think it also does. I
think it affirmed to them everything that they knew, everything
that they thought they were and said that they were,
And this was another step along the way. Like if
you're going to do what this team has aspirations of,

(01:50):
which is Super Bowl, you got to beat the Chiefs.
You gotta beat the Chargers down the stretch too. We
can talk about that, right, Sehn Peyton. One thing he
has done to beat John Harbot, but one thing at
a time. I think beating the was really significant, and
beating him in a fashion where it was a tight game.
You knew it was going to be a tight game,
but you walked away and you weren't like, oo got
away with one there. It's like, no, you went out there,

(02:11):
did what you were supposed to do, without the reigning
defensive player of the year, without Alex Singleton, without JK. Dobbins,
and you were able to walk away with a win.
And I don't even really care what the Chiefs record
is right now. The Chiefs are always a threat. So
to me, this did feel significant if you're going in
the direction that you want to go for now and really,
you know, kind of for the future of the division.

(02:32):
You had to have this one now, beating both teams
that were in last year Super Bowl, and so it
reaffirms to everyone inside that building we are exactly who
we think we are. Well, Robbie, we.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Just got a chance to see a seventy yard part
retiring by Marvin Mahams and your estimation and evaluation, how
valuable do you feel as though he is to this
team overall?

Speaker 2 (02:56):
So valuable? I feel like I spent half my life
pounding the table like more mars please. But obviously his
impact on special teams, it is absolutely tremendous and all
you have to see it is by the first time
that he gets the balls and the ball in his hands,
you know, that's what he does. And he had another big,
huge run as well. I still would really like to
see Marv involved more in the offensive game plan, and

(03:20):
you know, I think he has the ability to be
that big downfield threat to take the top off. You know,
I don't know if it's you want to keep him
primarily the special teams because he is so dynamic on
special teams, but I still would love this many years
and to see him be a bigger part of the
offensive game plan as well, no.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Doubt about it. Romy Bean joining us here. We're talking
about it earlier, and I was excited to have you
on for a multitude of reasons. But Shore Sanders is
making his debut. Of course, you've been covering very closely
see you now for quite some time. What are your
hopes or expectations in this first game for the Cleveland Browns.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Yeah, you know, I'm looking forward to seeing how he
does in his first full start. We all know when
a guy comes in, you know halfway through it, it's
never going to be an ideal situation. And if you've
got a game plan built around Dylan Gabriel, I'm not
gonna suit shandor all that well, or two entirely different quarterbacks.
So I think you take it all with a little
bit of a great a fault. It's a bad situation.

(04:18):
It's a bad Brown team. Put they're playing a bad
Raiders team. So I think that this is an opportunity
for hopefully Kevin Stefenski to kind of make the game
plan around Shador first and foremost, so to have an
opportunity for him to go out there and have the
game plan suit his strength to what he does best.
Is I think he'll be I'm looking forward to it.

(04:39):
I think that we're going to get the full or experience.
I think he'll probably hold on to the ball too
long and Max Crosby is going to welcome to the NFL.
I think maybe he'll, you know, throw a few picks,
but I think he's gonna throw. He's also going to
be able to lead that offense and he's gonna leave
him down the field and he's gonna get him in
the end zone a few times. And I think that
it's just going to be nice to see how Sedor
starts transitioning into the NFL because we haven't had an

(05:02):
opportunity to see it. Now we get it a full week,
you get to work with the team, and one thing
about your door is that you know, you know he'll
be ready. You know, people have a lot of opinions
about your door, but he will be ready, He'll be prepared,
he'll be ready to go, and hopefully the game plan
suits him. But I'm looking forward to seeing how he
leaves that team. And again, you're playing a bad Raiders team.
It's not a bad situation for your first start.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
Romie, how would you explain to someone who doesn't live
in the metro Denver area when you're trying to break
down kind of the sports scene here, Because when you
think about the Abs, you think about the Nuggets, and
you think about the Denver Broncos and where they are
this at this point in the season, how would you
kind of explain that to someone who has no idea

(05:45):
what the sports scene is like here in Denver.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
You know, it's tremendous. I think it's I think people
it's undervalued. Baby. People don't understand how great of a
sports town Denver is, how great of a sports state
Colorado it really is. And what do you need time
to have three teams doing so well. I think even
people here kind of in the Denver area are like

(06:10):
waiting for the other shoot to drop, like somebody's somebody's
gonna have to mess up, right, we're not. I can't
think of a time when all three have been doing
so well and are legitimate, you know, title contenders, and
you're legitimately kind of talking about, Hey, could you have
three breades? You could have three parades. It's just fun.
It's just energetic. Jared Bednar talked about it the other day.

(06:30):
I posted it and he just kind of had a
great response, and I love that. He also said, though,
this is a football town, and I've always felt that way,
and that's no shot at the Nuggets of the Abs,
because the city rallies around them and it's so fun
to see them doing well. But when the Broncos are
doing well, this city just just lights up. It's just
something different. The Broncos are such a deep, you know,

(06:51):
like piece of the fabric of Denver. And so it's
just a really really fun time. And most of all,
as you guys know, sports are changing so fast. I
just don't people treasure it. Just treasure it treasured, Nicola Yokajerra,
treasured the Nathan McKinnon era, and treasure what we got
going on with the Broncos right now, because you never know,
you could change tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Completely agree, romy Bean joining us last couple Herefore, you
always appreciate the time. Uh. One team unfortunately not doing
all that great unfortunately is his CEEU. And I think
we all realistically expected maybe a bit of a step back.
And I'm not even really all that down on it,
but I do wonder and I want to ask you

(07:33):
about what our expectations should be for next year. I mean,
I know this season is still playing out, but as
we sit here today, there are a lot of people going,
all right, well, hey, no Shore Sanders, no Travis Hunter. Yeah, okay, fine,
step back, but then you get a reset. Now next year,
it feels like we're gonna have much higher expectations. What
are your expectations for next year for coach Prime?

Speaker 2 (07:55):
And I completely agree, Ryan, I think, all right, this
wasn't off year and Quich. Prime has acknowledged several times
they missed on a couple of players within recruiting, so
there's been some staffing, you know, changes that he's going
to make, and I think everyone's kind of at the
point where, all right, you can you learn from your mistakes.
This year, there was a couple of guys that I

(08:15):
brought in that were who they thought they were. So
my expectation is as you go on the next recruiting trail,
you're doing the work, the research that you didn't do
this time around, to make sure you're bringing in the
right guys. And you know, as far as staff, you
got to make sure that you're bringing in the right guys.
There's been a lot of trial and error with Prime staff.
I mean you even look offensively how many coordinators he's

(08:37):
gone through. And I think part of that is that,
you know, Prime was never a Haad or was never
didn't work his way up the coaching system, so a
lot of these guys advanced Justice. For example, when he
gets his not his next chance, he's got every position
group what probably three or four guys deep that he'd
like as his This coach and this coach and this
coach and this coach coach prime came into it and
he went straight into a head coaching role. So of

(09:00):
his guys were either guys he played with, guys he knew,
or guys that are referred to him like a Robert
Livingston and so going you know, that makes for why
I think there's been a lot of trial and error.
So you're gonna have to rely on the same kind
of I guess people that he's known. But I hope
he's looking around and looking around at other guys in
the college game that might be a good fit when
he looks to bring in some different guys. And so,

(09:22):
you know, there's a lot, there's a lot. There's a
lot that has to be done. But this year college
football moves so fast, and you got to learn from
those mistakes and take a step up. And you hope
Juju stays. I have no information either way. Operating under
the presumption that he is going to stay. Then now
you have really a solid quarterback to build around, and

(09:42):
then there's no excuse.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
Yeah, that was the last point I wanted to make
here is about Juju Lewis, because it does feel like
if you if you got the quarterback, what a what
a carrot to put out there as far as a
recruiting standpoint from Coach Prime, and of course he's shown
the ability to be one of the best recruiters in
the country. So it feels like this little run here
for Juju is really key to this entire puzzle on

(10:06):
what we can expect next year.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
You agree, oh, one hundred percent. I mean, in the
next two games, you're not playing for a bawl, but
you're playing for Juju, and what do you see from
him and the growth you see from him? And I
mean the energy I felt in West Virginia was so
different than I had seen from this entire team the
entire year. It felt like they were playing behind somebody
that Okay, yeah, this kid's got it, so you can
really showcase Juju the next two games. I think that's

(10:30):
tremendous for who you're recruiting in the offseason, Rome or
a rock Star.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
We appreciate you so much, Thank you so much for
the time tonight.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
You guys are the best, always the honor to come on.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
We appreciate you, all right. The best roby being from
