Speaker 1 (00:00):
We're gonna head out to the hotline and bring on
doctor Dave Schneider. Brought to you by Ortho Colorado, Colorado's
premier Orthroped Hospital, part of Common Spirit Health. Check about
right now at Ortho Colorado dot org. Doctor Schneider, How
are you.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
I'm doing great. It's nice win. Big win Monday, big
win Monday or Tuesday.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
And it's a big win for your Colorad Buffalo basketball team.
There a moment ago too.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Yeah, that was nice. It was nice.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Yeah, beating the number two team in the country is
never a bad thing. All right, let's let's roll on
with some some questions here. I want to ask you
about Riley Moss. He got an mcl injury. Now, Sean Payton,
coach Payton came out after the game said there's a
possibility that he could have even gone back into the game.
They're gonna have more updates as the week goes on.

(00:48):
That certainly seems like good news.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
Such a good sign, you know, and one of the
dead giveaways. So what happened when he twisted his knee
and got set and rolled up on When you see
a player immediately have intense pain and grab their knee
when it's been in like that, it's a guarantee that
it's the MCL. Now, what you're not sure of is
that if it's a combination of the MCL and the ACL,

(01:14):
the fact that he's able to get up and walk
off pretty well, I think just about anyone watching and
I don't know Rick lewis what what your response was
to that, But that was immediately very encouraging, and I thought,
I bet this is an isolated at MCL. Maybe he'll
mee misses a couple of weeks.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
Yeah, Doc, you know what, I thought the same watching
him walk off the field. Dave Logan, it didn't seem
to be feeling as good about it as I was
watching him walk, But I thought that was maybe a
good sign. But you know, you see guys walk up
to feel like that after tearing an ACL as.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Well, and so you can. Yeah, so it's a little
hard to tell, right, And so when you look at
the replay, especially if it's slow motion, I think every
orthos urgeon is looking to see if they can see
that concussion and that little giveaway. I just didn't see it.
So if I was a gambling Matt, I would have said,

(02:08):
I bet it's not as.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Acl You're so good you diagnosed it watching it on TV.
That's incredible, Like, kudos to you, Doc Schneider.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Well, Doctor Snider. Uh, not so great news for the Raiders,
as Gardner minshe broke his collarbone in that game and
he's out for the remainder of the year. What's the
timeline usually on something like that, Well, he.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Would have had the clavical plated today, plates and screws
through an incision over the top of the collarbone. You know,
defensive coaches always talking about driving the shoulder, especially when
it's the quarterback. You do that last little turn and
try and drive the offensive player's shoulder into the ground.
It sounds mean, but you do it in part because

(02:53):
that blow either going to get an ac joint injury
that joined at the end of your collarbone or the
claviical itself. And just way he reacted, Rick's going to
make fun of me again for my instant diagnosis on TV.
But man, I just thought for sure that's a mid
cheft clappical fracture. He'll be operating him tomorrow now.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
There was apparently a heel injury to Zach Allen in
practice this week that kind of caught everybody by surprise.
How tricky are heel injuries to come back from?

Speaker 2 (03:24):
That was, well, that was a weird thing. You're right,
We hardly ever hear that. It's either to me one
of a couple of things. Either someone was cleaded him
on the actual heel on the calcaneus or he strained
his achilles a little bit and then then you have
him in a boot. But then hearing you know, coach

(03:45):
Bayton didn't want to talk injuries at all the day
after the game, but for him to say he'll be fine,
I think I just wonder if he got badly stepped
on and like had maybe a tissue wound, a scrape
and didn't want it to get inside. But it's obviously
great news to hear that he'll be back just next week.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
All right, Last one I got for you, Zak. Appreciate
the time as always. Just wanted to ask you about
Drew Sanders, who was activated from the physically Enable to
Perform list today, And he had an achilles injury back
in April, so we knew he wasn't gonna be ready
for the start of the season. Is there more ramp
up time that he needs or should he be good to.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
Go, but it'll be good to go. You know. That's
where they do the sideline kind of training, when you
look at a practice and the injured warriors are off
to the side doing their thing, and it really does
speak to how recovery from that injury has dramatically changed.
The thought that you can have an injury and get
back in six and seven months later is awesome.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
Hey, Doc, one more question for you before you go.
I was wondering if maybe you could diagnose my back
over the phone. I've got a low back shoe today.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
I'll just listen to the groans and I bet we
should decipher the tea leads that way.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
All right, Well, thank you, do send me the bill
for that.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Appreciate your time as always. Well, check in with you
next week's Shoulder to Shoulder, my friend.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
All right, all right?

Speaker 1 (05:05):
Doctor Dave Schneider from Ortho Colorado, Colorado's premier orthepeda gospel
