Another victory day here, victory Friday. How are you merry Christmas?
Speaker 3 (00:11):
Sir? Merry Christmas? Yeah, wonderful to have another victory, no
doubt about it.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Of course, we have some injuries to talk about a
little bit. We found out right before the game that
Luke Wattenberg is going on IR for a shoulder injury. Now,
this was something that sort of popped up. We saw
that he didn't practice earlier in the week, and maybe
there's some hope that he'd be back, but they put
him on IR last night. Sean Payton said, maybe if
it's just the minimum four games, it's a possibility. But
(00:38):
the fact they put him on IR, does that scream
significant to you?
Speaker 3 (00:43):
Yeah, it's a really weird pattern. As you were saying,
you know, normally we have a hint or we can
see it on TV. Usually is kind of season ending
or part of the season ending. Injuries don't happen in practice.
But when you see a guy like that who's still
pretty young, it's usually some type of rotator cuffing or
a partial dislocation or a full dislocation of his shoulder.
(01:04):
So there's no doubt he's undergoing an MRI work up,
as you mentioned, you know that being four games on
the IR. If everything goes great, I think you'd be
eligible to come around back around the SC Championship game.
But very odd type of timing.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
No doubt.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
We did find out last night that John Franklin Myers
has a hip flexer discomfort from the Jacksonville game and
that he was kind of limited in his snaps last night.
According to Mike Cliss, he should be good for this
next week, but maybe what give me a little more
description on what a hip flexer discomfort looks like.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
You know, twenty five years ago, if someone had pain
and they're growing in front of the hip, you know,
they would just say he has a groin, and we
always just thought it was the muscles in the front
of the leg and all joking aside, there would be
you know this kind of concern, did he pull a muscle. Well,
now we look back at it and realize, well, those
kind of injuries twenty five years ago, or actually a
(02:01):
tear of the labrum the part of the hip that
holds that femeral bone in place. So the little concerning
that he might have a laborer tear, not just the
hip flexor. So he's another guy that's getting an MRI
of the hip and we'll see what it shows in
(02:21):
the next week or so.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Okay, well, hopefully that's gonna be some good news because
they really need John Franklin Myers.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
He's been fantastic. I know that.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
I know I've checked in with you on this before,
but I got asked a billion times last night. Well
it felt like they're probably more like two or three.
But last night during React, I got asked about JK.
Dobbins and I said, hey, well, I'll talk to the
doc about and we'll find out what he says.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
Again, you know, with the with the Liz frank I
don't know.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
Is there a scenario because John Payton hinted at it
a while back that maybe he's back sooner than expected
when what most people were predicting maybe out for the
season or the Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
Is that possible, you know, it's possible.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
Things have changed so much in our injury or cover
timeline where now you can actually get guys back in season.
There's the chance that we could see him back for
the last week or two.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Wow, that would be remarkable.
Speaker 3 (03:16):
And I know we obviously are going to be nuts,
and we're all so happy with the way Harvey's playing,
but it'd be nuts.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
It would be nuts.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
Yeah, and Harvey's playing great, but the compliment to him
with JK would be phenomenal. All right, last one here
for you. So, Drake green Law missed this game. And
I know he's had some soft tissue things with a quad.
This one sounds like more like a hamstring. Is that
something that we should Again, we knew he's probably gonna
miss this game, but they didn't put him on IR
So is that a positive thing?
Speaker 3 (03:46):
That's a very positive thing. And if I may add,
as a kid, I used to we grew up in Kansas,
and I drive across Kansas to come visit my grandparents
in Denver, and I'd be driving with my dad and
everyone else would be asleep and we'd be listening to
KOA over the holidays and up and night. You know,
I've been talking with you guys in KOA for about
(04:07):
fifteen years, but I always get this kind of leg
warm feeling when I think about, especially over the holidays,
thinking that you and I are talking as friends here,
but there's probably people all over the Western United States
and their cars right now, and I just want to
wish all of them, especially if you're a kid, assume
with your parent driving, very merry Christmas and a very
(04:28):
happy New Year.
Speaker 1 (04:29):
Perfectly said, Doc. Always appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
Enjoy your weekend, enjoy all the football, and we will
chat with you next week.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
Perfect talk in a week.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
