Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome everyone to another edition of the KSR pre Show.
Today is Friday, September twenty sixth. I am Billy Rutledge
along with Shannon the Dude. You can give us call
on the Clark's Pumpinshop phone line that's eight five nine
two eight oh two two eight seven or Texas at
five oh two two six five six six five six.
As always, the KSR pre Show is brought to you
(00:20):
by Italics Fine Italian Dining in Lexington, Kentucky, at the
City Center on Main Street. It's a Friday. We're normally
on locations on Fridays, which we are again today here
at Bywater Farms in Georgetown. It is fall. The pumpkins
are ready to be harvest. I've got my own pumpkin farmer,
Shannon of the Dude, alongside with me. What's up, Shannon,
(00:40):
that's right.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
Yeah, I'm always good to be here at Bywater Farm.
Always a lot of fun to come in here. And
these pumpkins they've got over here are some massive pumpkins.
I've got a couple that are in that ballpark, but
I've also got some of them that are smaller too,
So I I this was you know, these seeds that
I got from Amazon, Jeff Bezos. Pumpkins, that's what I
call them. And you know, some of them are good size,
some of them not so much. But I ended up
(01:02):
with ten of them, so ten Biggins. That's a good trapper.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
Looking forward to maybe taking one of those home when
I come and see your basement on Wednesday's.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Not going to the basement, by the way. You keep
saying basement. It's a torture chamber.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
That's what is. No, no, no, no. The man cave
is in the garage. It's above ground. I'm not going
to take you into a dungeon. Well, I hope I'm
not sweating my butt off when we're doing the show
in the basement or the garage on Wednesday. I keep
saying basement. Maybe there will be a basement by the time.
I do have a basement, But you're not allowed. No, no, oh.
I just keep thinking it's like Ryan Lemon's basement. He's
(01:36):
got a pretty cool one. Yeah, but yeah, come on
out to buy water Farm. They've got things like a
pumpkin patch, a five acre corn maize, a petting zoo,
a giant jumping pillows. I didn't see the giant jumping pillows, Shannon,
I think that's like.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
Where you jump on it in a boom. Okay, I
think that's what it is. I did the It wasn't
the pumpkin cannon. It was like the apple cannon last time.
And I'm really really bad at it, not a good
apple shooter. But it's a lot of fun to do it.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
Though. Well they say they have a pumpkin cannon too,
so maybe they are putting more than just apples in there.
Not only that, they've got ziplines and slides for kids,
a little spooky farmhouse over there that you went through shade.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
Oh, it was spooky. I was scared. I was waiting
for one of you to come around the corner and
just jump out and scare me.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
It didn't happen, though. Uh.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Paintball. I'm a big paintball fan. If you played paintball before.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
Yes, but back in the day though, Like this is
like after school camp field trip to go to a
paintball facility and I remember getting hit in the nuts
one time. Well, you gotta wear a cup like I
around this like corner, like these big bean bags that
you have to like run between like there in this
and then right in the nuts.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
Please tell me the color was blue, because that would
be perfect.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
It was yellow. Oh okay, well, but it was a
little painful. I mean, you got a couple of Weltz
hit by a paintball.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
Oh yeah, yeah, Like you got a layer up when
you're playing paintball, for sure. Like I've been in a
few times. It's been a long time actually since I
played paintball, but a couple of times I went, I
had a blast, and you do have to layer up,
and you do have to make sure you protect certain
parts of the body.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
I'd wear a cup if I went again. Yeah, and
then like trying to reload mid round. I mean, it's
just a bit of a part of the strategy though,
it is. But it's fun. It's good fun. It's it's
been a long time since I've done that as well,
But they've got that here at Bywater Farm. Of course,
we're gonna have a little apple cider, donuts and a
little bit homemade fudge and always the fun stuff that
we have here at Bywater eight five nine two eight
(03:25):
oh two two eight seven. We'll talk Kentucky at South
Carolina this weekend. A seven forty five kickoff on Saturday.
But before we do, I just need a little recap
of yesterday's ham Days and our pig calling contest. At
the end of the show, Shannon, I thought you might
support me a little bit more, but you were on
Ryan's side the entire way.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Well, Ryan, he sort of played off the emotions of
the crowd. When you got a bunch of Kentucky fans
and he did the first little whatever it is, suiy
and then he did c ats, Cats, cats Cats. I
knew he had it at that point. No matter what
you did after that, Yours wasn't bad. But here's what
you know. Some people could say yours was actually better,
but the c ats is what you know. Again, he
(04:06):
played on their emotions. He got the fan approval, and
at first I didn't think anybody was gonna cheer for
you at all.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
There was a silence right when they they asked for applause.
It could have been like dead sign.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
I think there was one guy that sort of got
it going, and then everybody else kind of felt sorry.
That was a sympathy applause. It was they felt bad
for you. They're like, what is that?
Speaker 1 (04:27):
If you go by the rules of the hog calling.
I think I should have won, Shannon. I mean the
guy that came on with us said that you had
to squeal, you had to do pig noises. It was
much more than just the suit and then c ats
that pander and asked right.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
The crowd disagrees. Look, it depends on what the people say,
what the people vote on. It to democracy around here,
and the people said Ryan won, so he has the trophy,
which is much bigger than you eat a baity and
tossing trophy that you had from the year before.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
I want a Steward's inquiry, you know, and the like
Derby and they maybe a guy pushed off another horse
or something. We got to go to the video footage.
I'm gonna need a review because I think I won
that competition yesterday. Well you can think, oh you want,
but the people said otherwise. Now, I mean I was
getting messages all day, Billy, you were clearly the winner yesterday.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
So he did do the grunt because he said you
had to I have to squill and then a grunt,
and then you had to say something in the middle.
So I feel like you hit all the qualifications for it.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
I mean, if you're a KSR listener, I was saying,
get you a hog in there? Boy?
Speaker 2 (05:28):
Calling John CALIPERI, yeah, I think I hit. I didn't
really understand you calling John Calipari? Is that because he
is a razorback hog? So you were calling John a hog?
Speaker 1 (05:38):
Okay? Comm here John, what do you mean he's a hog?
You gotta call the hog and the hits that hadn't
seen a movie see look that. That was a perfect
way to end it to I think the committee may
have been asleep when I was doing my hog calling.
The Committee will not be asleep when they watch Kentucky
South Carolina this weekend because this is a big game.
I mean, this is a huge game for Kentucky with
(05:58):
how hard their schedule gets after this. Shannon, this is
I think a winnable game on the road against a
South Carolina team that in the past, these wins versus
South Carolina has galvanized the program a bit.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
This could be the game that can change that's trajectory
one way or another for the entire season, one of
those swing games we've talked about. It's also a game
where if you go on the road with Cutter Bowley
as your starting quarterback and you beat South Carolina, this
can also flip a lot of the fan base that's
been very negative on this team, and maybe a game
that can get those fans back on board raise the
morale of the fan base. And then I haven't even
(06:33):
looked ahead on the schedule. Who's next after this. I'm
not sure who's next, but I know this is Georgia.
It gets tough Georgia, Texas at Auburn. I mean, Florida,
who hasn't looked good this year, but it's still it's
gonna be a tough game for Kentucky. Louisville's looked a
little better this year. Tennessee Tech is really the only win.
I think you just give them this. It is Georgia,
So yeah, you need this win because if you lose
(06:53):
South Carolina and then you'll they're probably gonna get demolished
against Georgia, let's be honest about it. And then you
know from there you got to play Texas. Tennessee doesn't
get much easier. So this is this is one of
those that you definitely need to get and it's a
very winnable game game. Vanderbilt did it, Missouri did it.
If those two teams can beat South Carolina, so soakin
Kentucky right.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
South Carolina zero to two in the SEC. They are
the worst rushing team in the SEC. They're the second
worst rushing defense in the SEC. That's something Kentucky does
well is run the ball. And with a ninety five
percent chance of rain on Saturday, Shannon, it might be
a wet one.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
And that's one of those that anything can happen. You know,
you CAUs some defensive or some offensive miscus with your defense,
get some defensive touchdowns. You know, I think you'll win
the game somewhere. I think in the twenties. I don't
think it's going to be like a fourteen to ten
game or anything like that. And if it gets into
the thirties, I think that's beyond Kentucky's offensive capabilities at
(07:49):
this point. So I think you gotta win it somewhere
in the twenties.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
Yeah, but it's about the young quarterback not turning the
ball over right, It's it's about getting the play call
in and not having to lay a games. The operation
of it all that we've seen at times struggle with Kentucky.
South Carolina has two starters out on the offensive line,
so you know, at times the defense has been really
good at times. The defensive line has been a strength.
(08:13):
Guys like David Gusta could wreck some havoc on a
team missing two starters there, So that looks to be
an edge for Kentucky too. Yep.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
You know South Carolina is going to want to go
back to that running game that has struggled, right, They're
going to try to establish their running game I think early,
especially with the weather. I think you know that this
sort of plays into Kentucky's hands with the weather being
expected to what it is. Yeah, well I like that
U said ninety five percent. Now it's one hundred percent range,
but one hundred percent chance this helps Kentucky. Oh yeah,
a hundred percent chance it helps Kentucky for sure, a
(08:41):
ground and pound type offense. You know, I think it
plays well into their hands to see what happens. But again,
it's going to come down to not committing turnovers because
I think turnovers and that weather is probably going to
be the difference in the game.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
Well, look, McGowan, dowd l I mean, these guys have
been really good and there's obviously an emphasis to run
the ball with stoops, so we will probably see that
not only does Kentucky play South Carolina. We have one
of the better sports weekends of the year this Yeah,
Georgia Alabama, Georgia Alabama LSU Old Miss with Lane Kiffen
and the linebackers. I'm gonna see.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
I'm gonna be watching that game specifically just to see
if Ole Miss gets up and there. Let's say they're
up by I don't know, a couple of touchdowns in
the fourth quarter, going, does Lane keep going or do
they just run the ball, you know, and just run
the clock out. I think there's a good chance that
Lane would just if he has an opportunity, he's gonna
run the score up on him, just because yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
Right, I think you know you're friendly when she brings
him over for dinner. But like when you guys are
in the arena, I mean, there's there's no rules. It's
going to be I'm gonna put up as many points
as possible.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
Kind of like the Pope Kelsey thing, which I'm sure
we'll talk about later. I got that on the list.
Speaker 1 (09:50):
You know. Oregon Penn State, I think is another one
two teams in the top ten. So it's a good weekend.
NFL Slate on Sunday and then the Ryder Cup, which
started this morning, got off to an electric start, Justin
Thomas in the first group with Bryson Day Schambeau who
almost drove the green on his first drive. But now
Europe starting to take over a little bit, Shannon, So.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
I just want to know, like, is there any unsportsmanlike conduct.
We had Drew talking about how the Ryder Cup is
so much different than a regular golf tournament where you
can actually heckle, and there's like just you know, out
of the ordinary type things that are happening at the
Ryder Cup. Anything crazy that's happened so far. I haven't
been following it, not yet.
Speaker 1 (10:27):
There were a couple of viral videos yesterday of some
fans heckling people. Rory McRoy was trying to adjust his
top button and an American fan said, you don't need
a button to choke this weekend. I love it because
everybody heard it in all the Europeans turn and said
that was a good one. Now did Rory have the
top button button he was trying to like, he was
(10:47):
like fiddling with it?
Speaker 2 (10:48):
Why do you need to fiddle with it? Unbutton it?
And that's how you wear your top button yeah, you
get a button on right now, you don't have that
top button of course.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
Okay, good, but maybe the Europeans like to go a
little bit more top button like Mitch Marnhart.
Speaker 2 (10:59):
Okay, well, I don't even think, like the top button
should not be that high like your like even your
second button's kind of high, like let it loose a
little bit.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
Let's let the chest hair fly. I want you want
the second button out too. There you go, Oh now
you there you go. You have a few chest hair.
I also loved Victor Hoblin's answer. He is one of
the players on the European team. They asked him about
the heckling this weekend and how it might affect him,
and he said they won't really come close to the
thoughts I have in my own head, so I think
(11:27):
I'll just laugh it off for the most part. That's
the ultimate struggle in golf, Shane. I know you're not
a golfer, but it is a game against yourself. And
I definitely related to Victor Hoblin saying, hey, I say
enough negative things to myself. What does it matter if
somebody else says is it? Oh?
Speaker 3 (11:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (11:41):
I mean well, I mean all sports a lot of
it is mental. I think golf probably more so than
others because it's just it's entirely on you. But you know,
we've seen crazy things in baseball, even guys that just
can't get out of their own head. I just, you know,
I always think about Chuck Knoblock, who could not throw
the ball from second base to first because he was
in his own head. Every time he get the ball,
(12:01):
he would instead of just throwing it, I guess have
the thought that he can't throw the ball from second
to first base. Here's a major League baseball player who
can't throw the ball fifteen feet or twenty feet because
he's inside of his own head. Do you see that
a lot in golf and other sports too?
Speaker 1 (12:14):
The yips, right, the yips golfing. You know, you can
get out there and then not be able to hit
a three foot putt that you've been able to do
to your entire life because you're in your head. Major
League two, if he.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
Couldn't throw the ball from the catcher, couldn't throw the
ball to the pitcher.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
Until he was reading those magazines that you want to
call himself down.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
He looked like smalls from the sandlot. You had to
run the ball in.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
Yeah he did. He couldn't throw it to run it
in like Smalls A five two two eight seven. Shannon
Mayson mentioned baseball. We'll get to baseball probably in the
next segment because Reds and Mets didn't play each other,
but they did play last night. There's a development to
the playoff race, and we've got a lot more fun
topics to get to today. On a live Friday show
at Bywater Farms, come get your pumpkin, Come get your
(12:56):
apple cider donut. They even got kettle corn and homemade budge,
something that we always look forward to every year.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
I'm looking forward to it right now, like I want
some now? Can we can we make that happen? I
was promised cider. We got a little spoiled yesterday. No,
it says right here.
Speaker 1 (13:11):
Country Ham that people were serving like three sandwiches that
during the show.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
It says free apple cider, fudge, apple cider donuts if
you stop by the show. I have stopped by the show.
This is the show. I've stopped by. Where's my cider?
Speaker 1 (13:23):
You have to be here, Shannon, that's difference. I mean
we want other people to show up.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
I just came here to eat. Like yesterday, I just
come for the free food. I do the radio job.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
Huh. You just go around from town to town eat people. Here,
I am feed me. Is that Santa over there? I
think it is. Get that guy.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
He is a full Santa c Santa's looking young these days.
Speaker 1 (13:40):
And he's got a chair. So that's he died his
hair and everything. Oh he's in shorts. I love it.
I love it all right, So we'll take a break,
be right back here on the Chaos Opre Show. All right,
welcome back KOSR pre Show live at bywater Farm and Greenhouse.
We got pumpkins. It's putting you in the false spirit.
(14:03):
Halloween just around the corner.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
I guess Jan well a little over a month away.
But this is my favorite time of year. I'm still
a big kid when it comes to holidays. I always
enjoy Halloween and Christmas, of course. But we got I
guess it's Santa Claus right here next, just making it
still like Christmas is coming up. But yeah, I always
enjoy it, and I always enjoy being here. You buy
water Farm. I may have to take some pumpkin advice
(14:25):
from from the people here. As she suggested out here,
in the crowd.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
I figured you would be giving the pumpkin advice after
you defied all odds to have ten giants.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
You guys counted me out. You said, that's well your dad. Yeah,
your dad was my biggest opponent in all of this.
He's like, there's no way he's going to be able
to grow pumpkins. Turns out it's very easy. You just
take the seeds, you put them in the ground, you
let the rain come, and then pumpkins come out of
the ground.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
It's that easy.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
Yeah, I mean I really didn't take that much maintenance
at all. Well, I'm proud of you. S. Yeah, that
you should try.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
I'm good. I don't have the I don't have the space.
But maybe you can put some like soybeans and corn
in in your in your that's behind me.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
We have got like a big field behind me and
it's all corn and they rotate.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
The soil when you when you grow corn. Let's talk
a little baseball. How about the play from the Reds
last night. Did you see the robbed home run? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (15:19):
That was that was amazing and and and the more
importantly though the Reds win had to have it. Unfortunately,
go to the Mets.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
So we're in the same spot that we're at. But
people were saying that was one of the bigger catches
in franchise history. A third baseman moved to the outfield
in the middle of the season made that catch for
the Reds. Uh. They they won yesterday. So they've got
one series left against the Brewers and we will be
following that next week. As to see if Cincinnati can
get into the playoffs, how are you feeling you think
(15:48):
they're gonna be able to pull it off?
Speaker 2 (15:49):
I mean, they gotta they gotta have two out of
three and some help from the Metals.
Speaker 1 (15:53):
I got to see who the Mets play, because they
could take the Mets. Are the Marlins. That's who they have.
Oh they have the Marlins.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
Yeah, who are one of the worst teams in baseball.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
That's not good. But we've talked about the Reds hold
the tiebreakers, so they've just got to That's what I said.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
I mean, just take two out of three, hope that
the Marlins drop a game, and you know, yeah, I.
Speaker 1 (16:11):
Hope the Marlin steal a game from the Mets, and
then that will lead to the Reds making the playoffs
and defying all the odds and maybe Matt gets back
on board. He'll be coming back next week, so it'll
be about time for the Reds to start their playoff run.
Also in baseball last night, the Big Dumper. It is
fifty ninth and sixtieth home runs of the season. First
catcher to ever hit sixty home runs in a year.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
It's crazy, right, more than Griffy when he played for
the Mariners, which is hard to believe catcher especially, And
you know, if he had another I don't know, maybe
another week or so. I think there's a good chance
he would be very close to that Barry Bonds all
the time home run record.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
Yeah, yeah, that's that seventy mark is a big one
too when it comes to the U, the steroid era
and those guys going on that race. But the Big Dumper,
I remember we started the year talking about do you
know who cal Rawley is? Yeah? Next while I was talking, well,
I brought.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
That up because it was the All Star break and
he was actually on pace I believe to either like
tie or come close to break in the Dairy Bonds record.
And he's gonna fall a little short, but yeah, I
mean that's a guy we'd never even heard of before.
He's got the best nickname in baseball, the Big Dumper.
I mean, give me a better current baseball player nickname
than the Big Dumper.
Speaker 1 (17:19):
I don't have it. I don't have it. But do
you think he likes it?
Speaker 2 (17:22):
Do you think he likes the nick That's the thing
about a nickname. It really doesn't matter if you like
it or not. It just, you know, like, you don't
get to choose your nickname.
Speaker 1 (17:28):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
Nicknames are given to you by your friends, your colleagues,
whatever it may be. Like, I didn't choose the name
Shannon to the dude. It was given to me. Yeah,
they just couldn't tell if you were a guy or
a girl.
Speaker 1 (17:37):
And they said that based off the name, dude, that's
not Shannon a girl.
Speaker 2 (17:42):
Then they actually, you know, they made me drop my
pants and they had to be.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
One day, you drink a couple of mimosas at a
remote and you happen to have some barbecue food afterwards,
and then you're known as two mimosa ability. There you go.
That's right. So you're right. But whether you're watching the
college football slate this weekend or the baseball games coming
down to the wire, you can do it embedded all
on DraftKings. That's right.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
Yeah, if you're a new customer, now's a great time
to sign up for DraftKings. You sign up with KSR

Let's see you win whatever it may be, twenty thirty bucks,
all right, then you get two hundred dollars on top
of that. Now you've got two hundred and thirty dollars

Speaker 1 (18:49):
Ross Dellinger had a report yesterday that he expects legislation
to be put in play soon where sponsorship patches will
be put on college football teams starting next fall. Shannon,
I think we knew that this was inevitable, but we're
starting to get word that this is should, could be,
and should be something in the works here pretty soon.
Speaker 2 (19:07):
Baseball has been doing it for years any way, to
capitalize on making a little more money, right, I mean,
at some point I feel like they're gonna make these
teams just look like Nascar. Oh, it's not just that bad.
I mean, especially in college talking about, you know, the
need for money, College sports I feel like are worse
than really in any other form of sports because anything
(19:29):
they can do to make a few extra dollars, whether
it be adding more Bowl games, trying to expand the
NC DOUBLEA tournament, anything they can do. We know there's
greed out there when it comes to money in the
NC Double A. So I wouldn't be surprised if they
just put patches all over everybody?
Speaker 1 (19:42):
So what patch are you putting on the Kentucky football team?
I know Central Bank had their eyebrows raised when they
saw this news. Or Bredamp Cornbread Hemp, I mean corn
Bread Hemp, the official beverage sponsor of the University of Louisville.
I don't think it's that far fetched that they could
be on a patch. I think it was like wish
that they had on the graphic announcing the news on
(20:03):
the Kentucky uniforms.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
Say remember the shirt that had my grass is blue? Yeah,
there you go, comb Bread help, that's perfect.
Speaker 1 (20:09):
But do you want like a hemp plant on your Yeah?
You're sure? Why not? Are you?
Speaker 2 (20:13):
Are you offended by that? Do you not like hemp?
Speaker 1 (20:15):
No? No, no, absolutely, I absolutely am not offended by hemp.
But you never know. It's the national stage. By the way,
I call your representative, tell them to keep him legal.
That's right, that's right. Those new THHC beverages are awesome.
Big thank you to Cornbread Heaping everything that they've done.
Eight five nine two eight h two eight seven is
the number. Let's take our first call today. Matt is
on the line, and with all this pumpkin talk. This
(20:37):
has got to be our garden guy, Matte, I would say,
I would say, so he's probably meditating right now. Hey Matt,
what it's up? Guys? See what's going on? Man?
Speaker 3 (20:48):
Well, you said you was wanting some more advice on
you pumpkins. Which you've killed it. You have killed it.
Speaker 2 (20:56):
Well, I don't know if i've killed him. I think
they're alive. You mean I did a good job. I
think it's what he means. Yeah, yeah, yeah, well you
know you killed it. I was I was expecting maybe
a few more, but I'll take ten. Most of them
made it raccoons or deer. Well, yeah, okay, what do
you got?
Speaker 3 (21:14):
Well, you remember I told you about the liquid fence
told you about and you've been a pilling around your
plant and uh, I gotta this is like I hate
to give out my my famous recipe, but you save
your egg shells and crush them up and uh and
sprinkle them around your plants. Oh it just it eats
(21:37):
them up. I can. It's just perfect.
Speaker 2 (21:41):
Around springing around your plants. So you take I take
eggshell yep, okay, wherever you grow your wherever you're.
Speaker 3 (21:50):
Growing, each individual pumpkin and any plant really and and
with your banana peels, it's like a little bit of
a you know there, Yeah, okay if but uh yeah, man,
those pumpkins are huge.
Speaker 2 (22:09):
Yeah, most of them are anyway. So I'm happy with
the way it turned out. That was my first attempt.
Next year, I'll have more. We're gonna double them like
your own. Charlie Brown over the Thanks for the call, Matt.
We appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (22:18):
Yeah, thank you, Matt. I hadn't heard that one before.
Eggshells around the pumpkins, banana pills. I'm gonna have like
all kinds of stuff going on, a peels, liquid fence,
anything he can do to get those pumpkins to grow.
Speaker 3 (22:29):
Well.
Speaker 1 (22:29):
Here, we're here at Bywater Farms. We need to take
a break. We'll be right back. It is the KSR
pre Show. Welcome back. It is the KSR pre Show
on a Friday, getting you ready for the weekend, Kentucky
taking on South Carolina on Saturday. Billy Rutland and Shannon
Dude Here at Bywater Farms, where a lot happened during
the break. We've got two dogs rowing around. One's got
(22:49):
a beef jerky stick, and I think Shannon might fight
this dog for something to eat here, get another donut
here in a second, and then looks like a field
trip just showed up.
Speaker 2 (22:58):
Well that's what happened last year, right, that brought all
the kids out here. And then you know, the other
thing that's always unique about this remote is you don't
have chairs.
Speaker 1 (23:04):
We have like.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
Milk crates, the old crates out there all right, milk
crates that everybody gets to sit on. You turn them
upside down and then it never fails. The sun's always
like right in everybody's face. So you guys can come
in a little bit if you want to. You don't
have to sit way back there. It's okay unless you're
just trying to sit out there and stay warm.
Speaker 1 (23:21):
Yep. So it's getting a little crowded here, so come
on out and join us, have some fun and buy
water Farm the perfect place to bring the kids, the
largest fall farm festival in Kentucky. And we're here today.
Speaking of kids, I want to congratulate former NFL MVP
Sean Alexander, former Boone County High School star in Florence, Kentucky.
He just welcomed his fourteenth kid, Wow, fourteenth kid at
(23:43):
the same woman all fourteen. Wow, well he's loyal.
Speaker 2 (23:46):
That's good. I can't imagine. I mean one kid would
be one thing. Yeah, fourteen of them, that's.
Speaker 1 (23:53):
What do you do? Like you line them up like
they're a little football team. That's right. I mean Thanksgiving
you are playing, I mean a pretty big, big family
football game, that's right.
Speaker 2 (24:01):
Yea, just the average three on three. Bring your squad.
I've got my fourteen over here. You got enough for
special teams and everything.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
So do you love each child the same when you
have fourteen kids, Shannon or I mean, every parent will
tell you that you get past like you know that's
not true. I'll just kind of like, all right, let's
just you know.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
Every parent will say I love all my kids the same.
I don't believe it. I think there's always a kid
that's a brat and you're like, man, like this this
kid is making me pull my hair out, and you
got to like one kid better than the other, whether
you want to admit it or not.
Speaker 1 (24:33):
Like, I'm sure your parents you have a brother or no,
a sister.
Speaker 2 (24:36):
I got a brother, and yeah, brother, I'm sure they
love your brother and your sister way more than they
love you. They just won't tell you.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
No, I doubt that. I mean I was the only
child for ten years. I mean we had it made
and then those two came around.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
So they're the ones who ruined your life.
Speaker 1 (24:50):
I would say ruined my life. They made my life
richer and better. But at the same time, look at
you know, the attention kind of went away for a
little bit there. Tell me feel like this move Shannon.
Big game in the NFL, my Tampa Bay Buccaneers take
on the Philadelphia Eagles, two undefeated teams yea and to
stop the tush push, the Buccaneers have signed a four
hundred and fifty pound defensive tackle to just sit over
(25:11):
the center when they do the tush push? Do you
like seat? So that you said they brought him in
just for just for this, Yes, for this game. So
Desmond Watson, I believe is his name, used to play
for the University of Florida, if you remember, the big
guy that did it. But he could never make the weight, Like,
he couldn't get under four hundred and seventy pounds During
training camp, he was bouncing around from team to team.
The Bucks signed him because he finally got under four
(25:32):
hundred and fifty and they're looking to play him this
Sunday when they take on the team that just likes
to run the quarterback sneak.
Speaker 2 (25:38):
So they only bring him in on fourth down.
Speaker 1 (25:40):
I don't know, I don't know what I mean. Does
he have the conditioning to play more than one down
when you're at four hundred and fifty pounds.
Speaker 2 (25:46):
Yeah, I mean I think he could just bring him
in sparingly, you know, on third and short, fourth and short.
The thing as though, are they gonna cut him after
this weekend?
Speaker 1 (25:54):
Maybe? I mean it's a it's a harsh reality in
the NFL.
Speaker 2 (25:56):
Oh, here's the thing. If he is that type of guy,
who is is that important to your team to stop
the tush push that you sign him and he actually
helps helps you win the game, you gotta keep.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
Him on the team. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
If he makes a play, because there's other teams that
might try that too.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
Well, yeah, I mean you gotta get creative to stop
this play. I mean it's boring to watch and it's
hard to stop. Yeah. I like the idea, though.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
Who is going to push around a four hundred and
fifty pounds man exactly?
Speaker 1 (26:22):
I mean, you got to go for the legs at
that point. That is a tall, tall tree. But Tampa
trying a different strategy, which just you know, it's just
put assume a wrestler back in front of a hockey net.
Well we've always said that. I don't know why nobody
does that.
Speaker 2 (26:35):
Yeah, like, just put a guy who like just blocks
the entire net.
Speaker 1 (26:39):
Just keep them there. Now you gotta find a big guy.
But yeah, I mean theoretically, sure there's somebody with pads on. Yeah,
you could take up the whole frame of the hockey net.
How come people aren't thinking like I think the problem is.
Speaker 2 (26:50):
Keeping him on his feet on skates, because he's still
gonna stay on ice skates.
Speaker 1 (26:54):
Maybe you could just glide out there. We can fly
him out there in front of the net eight L
two two eight seven if you'd like to join the show.
More and more Americans are living in RVs. Actually, since
over the last four years, twice as many people are
living in RVs. Since twenty twenty, housing prizes have risen
about fifty percent. So just release this week, four hundred
(27:17):
and eighty six thousand people in this country are living
in an RV full time.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
RVs aren't cheap either. I've seen the prices on some
of these RVs, some of them are more than a house.
Speaker 1 (27:26):
Well, this story makes me think of the story you
brought up earlier this week yesterday. Yeah, gen Z, Yeah,
you know, buying houses with non romantic partners, just friends.
Speaker 2 (27:36):
So did they break this down by age or we
talk in younger people, older people, a little bit of everything.
Speaker 1 (27:41):
No, I don't have it by age. Yeah, just have
it twice as many people living in RVs than fours.
Speaker 2 (27:45):
Interesting though, you know, the good thing about it is
if you get tired of one location, you just pick
up your home and go to the next one.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
You know. That's the good thing about the whole thing.
You know, if you could find a campground where you
can park your RV or camper, it's not all these
big RVs that you see in the movies. You know,
sometimes all you need is a little camper that's got
a little stove. Yeah, some of these are.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
You know, there's also people who don't like travel and
they kind of live out of their car, right traveling gypsy.
But there's you know, the these nice RVs now where
you can you can totally see somebody living in there
because they're so nice. Like if you go to these
like RV shows, like the Bubal Boat RV show they
have every year.
Speaker 1 (28:21):
I go in there.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
But some of these are like four hundred, five hundred
thousand dollars to buy these things, and I'm going I'd
rather just have a house.
Speaker 1 (28:27):
Yeah, probably less of those out on the road. And
look at that Billy Confidence T shirt out there, a
salute teas are coming out in the best T shirt
possible from Kentucky branded. But you know, I could you
see yourself as an RV guy one day, Shannon, maybe
one day traveling.
Speaker 2 (28:42):
I would still like to have a house, you know,
but yeah I could if I could afford it.
Speaker 1 (28:46):
I would like to have one.
Speaker 2 (28:48):
I just we need one, actually for ks are these
KSR road trips that we do?
Speaker 1 (28:51):
Oh, we need one.
Speaker 2 (28:53):
I don't know how we haven't gotten like some sort
of Hey branded from sales over here, Brandon, get us
a KS bus what we need like where we can?
Yeah you yeah, you could sell it for the next
KSR rouge. That's what I'm telling you. Sell the endorsement.
Then we can, you know, just take KOSR on a
bus instead of packed in a little bitty car going
from here to San Francisco.
Speaker 1 (29:13):
That would Matt allow somebody else to drive the RV
or is Matt going to be driving the RV?
Speaker 2 (29:17):
Matt would have to drive it. Absolutely. Yeah, I wouldn't
want to drive an RV. There's no way.
Speaker 1 (29:23):
Oh no, you would not. You would not catch me.
Speaker 2 (29:25):
Like when we were when we were shuttling over from
Louder than Life in Bourbon and beyond us they had
us in this It was like a big bus, you know,
and I was like, There's no way I could drive
this thing. But this guy is just like like swinging
it around and you know, just going like in these
little small spaces, and I'm going, there's no way I
could do that. I would be running over sidewalks and
people and it would not be good.
Speaker 1 (29:44):
But you've got to have a little billy confidence if
you're driving an RV or these truckers that are navigating
through cities right you know, they're you know, they're taking
these wide turns just to be able to not hit
a street light or the car in front of them. Uh.
And it's impressive, it really is. You've got to be
confident in your cra What about you though, could you
see yourself living in an RV. I got a nice RV.
So that's that's what it depends on for me. Is
(30:07):
it nice? Does it have running water? All that type
of stuff, right, like a sink in there, and you know,
a comfortable place to slive, maybe an ac or something
like that.
Speaker 2 (30:16):
We're talking more like a tour bus, yeah.
Speaker 1 (30:18):
I mean, not the campers that these Americans are having
to live in because houses are just you can't afford them, right, Yeah,
but uh, you know, fiance's got a drive. I can't
even parallel park the chargers. What do you think the
average price of a what an RV? Average RV price?
So not a camper but an RV.
Speaker 2 (30:34):
Well that's what you're talking about, right, it's not a
camper but an RV.
Speaker 1 (30:36):
Yeah, correct, Gosh, I mean nice ones are gonna be
hundreds of thousands, like an average like I'm gonna say
eighty seventy eighty thousand.
Speaker 2 (30:47):
Towable toable TOBAL trailers. This says ranging from ten thousand
to sixty thousand, ten thousand to sixty thousand. Okay, very
it's a class A B and C.
Speaker 1 (30:59):
But then you gotta have a call to have that
toeable one.
Speaker 2 (31:02):
Okay, Okay, then it says there's Class A, B and C,
which can cost anywhere from seventy thousand to over three
hundred thousand.
Speaker 1 (31:08):
Ah okay, so that sounds more about right.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
Some luxury models even two million, So I think we're
more on the ten to sixty thousand range.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
This lower end here sixty seventy thousand dollars RV though,
I mean you're not having to pay a mortgage, you're
not paying rent. Mean that pay for gas? I guess, yeah,
but an affordable option for many of people in this country.
One more interesting story before we take our final break
of the show. Remember Tom Hart gave us a stock
tip right before COVID hit by Yeah, Zoom Yeah, and
had nobody on the show. I don't think a bought
(31:36):
Zoom and I think we regretted it after it surpassed
Skype as the video calling conference software. But let me
give you the best stock over the last four years, shit,
and actually the last five years. How about this one.
Build a Bear stock is one of the best performing
stocks in this country over the last I saw.
Speaker 2 (31:54):
I saw something about that on the news. I was
surprised that Build a Bear was still a thing. The
stock is up fifty percent since January one of this year.
Why and it's up two thousand percent over the last
five years. It's a new trend called kid dulting, where
the kids who were born in nineteen ninety seven who
had Build of Bears as a kid, are now going
back to the store to buy build of Bears for
(32:15):
their kids. There's also some.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
Genius in how they're marketing and doing Build a Bear.
Instead of focusing on malls where people don't go into anymore,
they go on cruise ships. They look for different avenues
to get these build of Bears in the hands of kids.
Amusement parks is another place that you can do build
a Bear with a low price point of only ten
dollars to get pre stuffed animals. It's something that many
(32:39):
Americans are taking advance.
Speaker 2 (32:41):
I gotta ask you, you're kind of you know in
that range. Do you have a build a Bear?
Speaker 1 (32:45):
I do not. I never put a heart in the
bear and stuffed it and sewed it back up.
Speaker 2 (32:50):
Well, you know, we don't put a heart. You have
no heart, so we can't put a heart of yours.
You could, baby, maybe give you like a little mimosa.
Speaker 1 (32:57):
If I don't like kids, I mean I don't have.
Speaker 2 (32:59):
All that's right, Like the ten man, you don't get
a hurt.
Speaker 1 (33:02):
Did you have a you didn't have a building brain?
Oh god damn no. The time Build a Bear came out,
I was driving her car. Well you got that. I
was building a car. You were building a bear. I
just put a build a Bear in there too. Yeah,
a very popular thing in America. Build a Bear is
coming back fifty percent though since January. What is good
for them?
Speaker 2 (33:20):
Man, that's one of those things that I thought would
be a trend and maybe be around for a while.
Remember beanie babies, Oh those were huge, and my grandmother
collected those things, and you know the Princess Diana one
was supposed to be worth all this money and now
they're just in a box.
Speaker 1 (33:32):
So asked me if I had a build Bear. I
never did. I had beanie babies though, the problem was
I'd rip that tag office t Y.
Speaker 2 (33:38):
Remember they had the tuy tag on it, and then
they were like knockoffs that didn't have the ty and
they said, it doesn't have the t Y tag on it,
it's not a real beanie baby.
Speaker 1 (33:46):
They'd put little plastic cases on the t y. You
gotta save it so you can sell it later. No,
I was ripping that toy was a kid.
Speaker 2 (33:51):
I mean, what kid wants to have a toy that
you can't even take out of the box.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
Well, that's a great question. I mean many people have
Star Wars action figures or Wrestling action figures in the
box that they got from the seventies, right, So there's collector.
Speaker 2 (34:03):
Yeah, like the forty year old Virgin. Remember he had
all those that he collected and he had them there
in his house. Like, did you ever take this thing
out of the box? No, com compromises its value.
Speaker 1 (34:13):
You're right, You're right about that. No, all right, we
need to take a break. We will be right back.
Eight five nine two AO two too, eighty seven. It
is the KSR pre Show. Welcome back. It is the
KSR pre Show. Got a good little crowd here a
buy water farms. Getting ready to hand it off to
Ryan and Drew and KSR from ten to noon.
Speaker 2 (34:34):
See you later. Billy the donuts here, you're gonna handle
this one on your own.
Speaker 1 (34:38):
My man Shannon is drooling from the mouth right now.
We'll dive into those in just a second. Got a
couple more sports stories for you, but This segment is
brought to you by Stretch Labs, a place I went
to yesterday, Shannon, I got my fifty minute assisted stretch yesterday.
First thing they did for the verse five ten minutes
or so the massage gun. Oh yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (34:56):
I had one of those ready to go at the
end of the fifty mile walk.
Speaker 1 (34:59):
I'm I mean, I was ready to walk out of
that place and buy one of those things. It was
so relaxing. But you know, stretching is something that can
help you improve your quality of life and is for everybody.
Some of the things and benefits of Stretch Labs include
an improved posture and improved range of motion. It reduces stress,
and it reduces muscle and joint pain. And you kind
of get to know the person that's helping you with
(35:20):
the stretches. My flexologists. You know, you kind of get
a different one depending on what time you book, and
you know, they talk to you about their life, their background,
what they're doing, if they're in school or not. It
is a cool experience. And if you use promo code
Bogies with Billy, you can get a fifty minute one
on one assistant stretch with a computerized mobility assessment for
just forty nine dollars. They have a location in Lexington
(35:42):
and Fort Wright. Check it out. It is Stretch Lab.
What kind of stretches can you do? Now? Are you
more limber? Uh? Well, like I said, they stretched cana down.
Touch your toes. I mean I'm getting close. That's that's
a lot of like the hips and stuff. I mean
that's pretty still. No, no, I did it. I think
I did it. There you did not touch your toes?
You want to see?
Speaker 2 (36:00):
Yeah, I mean I know these people can't see because
we're about Okay, there you go.
Speaker 1 (36:03):
You get one hand on it.
Speaker 2 (36:04):
Okay, I think I tell you're really that bad you
can't touch your toes?
Speaker 1 (36:07):
Well, yeah, I was in a pre bag car wreck.
I had two bulging discs. Look, Shannon, I mean it's
not everybody can just touch the grous. It's true.
Speaker 2 (36:14):
Not everybody's a World Cup class athlete like I am.
That is true.
Speaker 1 (36:16):
But I am starting to see some progress over the
last couple of weeks. Going to Stretch Lab and if
you enjoy the Bogies with Billy, you should definitely check
that out. A five nine two eight zero two two
eight seven. There is a new favorite beer in America. Shannon.
Speaker 2 (36:29):
Yeah, it is Shannon the Dude's brew. Everybody loves it.
Speaker 1 (36:32):
No, you're right, you're right. That's just in Kentucky. But
now the number one beer in America is Michelob Ultra.
It used to be bud Light. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (36:40):
In other words, it's water and a beer can. That's
basically what it is. They were selling these things for
fourteen dollars a pop at Bourbon and Beyond and Louder
than Life fourteen and you would look on the ground
and you'd just be surrounded by empty bottles of Michelobe.
Speaker 1 (36:53):
But I feel like, if you drink Michelob, are you
really even drinking beer? They did some tests I believe
in that you are actually more hydrated after you drink
a Michelob. Yeah, is that true? I said water.
Speaker 2 (37:04):
It's it's genius because you really don't have to do
any kind of like work as far as putting beer
into a bottle. You just put water in there, put
a little beer flavoring in, say, oh, here's like four
percent alcohol.
Speaker 1 (37:15):
Here.
Speaker 2 (37:15):
There you go, there's your Michelobe.
Speaker 1 (37:17):
Yeah. I mean I've had a Mikelob or two in
my time. It just you know, when you're a lightweight Channon.
Sometimes you got to go with that. Well.
Speaker 2 (37:23):
It's also again, it's one of those things like where
you want to drink, but you don't want to feel
guilty for drinking. You just you know, and you don't
want to put on extra calories because it's like what
ninety calories or something like that in a in a michelobe. Right,
So I think it's the health conscious people who want
to drink alcohol but want to save a few calories.
Speaker 1 (37:40):
Yeah. Yeah, but I'm gonna stick with the Shannon the
Dude brew there you go.
Speaker 2 (37:44):
Yeah, and Cougar stores all throughout Kentucky. It's selling like crazy.
They can't even keep it on the shelves I am
having for you.
Speaker 1 (37:51):
Man. The can is so cool and it's a it
tastes great too. I mean I'm not just sucking out.
Speaker 2 (37:55):
No, No, I appreciate that. And you know, I get
to go on this. There's an app, you know, there's
an a for everything. The Untapped app is a app
where if you drink different beers and you're like a
traveler you like to try local breweries and stuff, there's
an app where you can go on there and you
could rate the beer. So if you've had it and
you have that app, do me a favor and go
give it a good rating.
Speaker 1 (38:16):
A little like letterbox where you can kind of put
your movie.
Speaker 2 (38:19):
Blocking doll up of the Dude's Brew on the untapped
app and I can see everybody who has rated it,
and people take pictures with the can and posted It's
really cool? Is that a three point seven to five
rating on your Overall it is a three point nine
to five out of five, which is actually really good
for beer.
Speaker 1 (38:36):
I mean four out of five that's a pretty solid score.
Speaker 2 (38:38):
I'd say like just to get let's see what nickelob
on there got, just to just buy a comparison here
if it'll pull up out of five. So nicolobs only
got a two point five five. So see they got
a two to five. I'm in a three nine.
Speaker 1 (38:49):
Better tasting beer than the most popular beer in America.
There you go, a little Shannon the Dude Brew. I
want to wish the best of luck to the UK
volleyball team. They've got another game this weekend versus Georgia.
Our man John Short is on the line. I'm sure
he knows a little bit about that. What's up, Johnny?
Speaker 4 (39:04):
That must have ready for now. I know tell us
on accus.
Speaker 1 (39:11):
Uh, the volleyball game on SEC plus. I'll take your
word for that. John. The football game is gonna have
Tom Hard on it. What do you think about the
Cats versus South Carolina?
Speaker 4 (39:20):
I didn't want win, Matt Sam Biggins. I turned Tom
Hard down to here, Tom.
Speaker 2 (39:23):
Leech, Hey, we got somebody wants to talk to you.
Speaker 1 (39:26):
John.
Speaker 2 (39:26):
Here, go ahead, Johnny Short, Yes, happy birthday, big boy, Johnny.
Speaker 1 (39:33):
Tarrowit sixty yesterday.
Speaker 2 (39:35):
Tell us that John, Happy birthday, John, John.
Speaker 1 (39:38):
Short, sixty years old. Yesterday doesn't look a day over
twenty day or twenty five. So I want to say,
happy birthday. You're a great American. And I hope you
had a good cheeseburger with no cheese or ketchup or
anything on it.
Speaker 4 (39:52):
Was it didn't have that, yesde I have probu.
Speaker 1 (39:56):
A go what.
Speaker 2 (39:57):
