Speaker 1 (00:04):
Welcome everyone.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
It is the KSR Pre Show, Wednesday, October eighth. I
am Shannon the Dude. I'm in the Louisville Studio being
joined by Billy R.
Speaker 1 (00:13):
Sports.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
He's over in Lexington and you can give us a
call wherever you are eight five nine and two eight
oh twenty two eighty seven. It's eight five nine two
eight O cats Piero Whiskey Thief Call of the Day.
He could also textus at five O two two sixt
five six six five six. The KSR Pre Show is
being brought to you by Italics, fine Italian donning in Lexington,
(00:35):
which was named yesterday Billy as having I think was
the best lasagna in all of Kentucky, I think, or
in Lexington, at least I think that was on the list.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
We looked up like the or No.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Somebody wrote into Matt and said, I have the definitive
Italian restaurant.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
Yeah, yeah, best.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
I think best lasagna in Italics was listed on there.
So get out to Italics and try the lasagna.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
Old renowned.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
It's great food, open for lunch every day besides Monday
and Tuesday. The caccio a pepe is something I love
to have. There, and espresso martini is something that gets
me in the right frame of mind.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Shannon's expresso martin. I don't think I've ever had an
expresso martini. Well, it sounds like.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
It's a cert martini, no X in expresso. I definitely
got that wrong the first couple of times I said it.
But are you know, are you a coffee drinker outside
of the first couple hours of the morning, because you
know some people will have coffee after their dinner.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
Well, I'm having coffee counter right now. I've got a
cup in front of me too, buddy jeah. Yeah, but no,
I mean I'm not really one of those people that
drinks it after I feel like that's an old person thing,
Like my grandparents would do that. Sometimes they would have dinner,
then they would drink coffee. And I'm going after dinner.
I don't know, man, I'm kind of winding down. I'm
not trying to get my day like restarted again at
(01:49):
six o'clock the afternoon, So I'm not really a coffee drinker.
Passed probably ten am. After that, it's it's no more
coffee for me.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
I think it's a big thing in Europe. But you know,
when you have the Golden Corral buffet at five point
thirty in the afternoon. Sometimes you need a little coffee
to get you to the eight nine o'clock bedtime that
you have. But yeah, enjoy it this morning with you, dude. Yeah,
a little drier day today.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
I mean yesterday, it was just a downpour in Louisville.
I don't know if it was like that in Lexington,
but it was one of the scariest drives I've ever
had going from work, Like the other one would probably
be when it snowed fifteen inches last year and I
had to drive through that.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
To get to get to work when you stayed at
the hotel.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Yes, yes, But yesterday, Billy, I mean, I'm leaving and
it is just a torrential downpour. And I've never seen
it flooding on I sixty five the way that it
was yesterday. Like I was driving forty miles an hour
and every other car was too because there was just water,
like if you drove any faster you felt like you
would hydroplane. So I've never seen flooding like that on
sixty five before. Now I'm sure there's you know, people
(02:52):
that live in Eastern Kentucky probably rolling their eyes and
scoffing at me when I'm going like, oh, this was
crazy get flooding, you know, with the stuff they've had
to deal with over the years. So I'm not trying
to compare it to that, but I'm just saying, like
I've never seen you know, obviously side roads will get flooded,
but for sixty five to have standing water on it
was crazy yesterday. So even in the jeep, you even
(03:13):
have a jeep man, even in the jeep, I'm like,
we got to slow it down a little bit because
it was it was not safe.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
All right.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
So now we've got today on the show coming up
Adam Sandler tickets to give away, right, he's going to
be at Lexington. When is that October the sixteenth, Let's see,
I think it's I think it's October sixteenth or eighteenth.
So we got some free tickets to give away all
this week for Adam Sandler. But you told me right
before we went on the air that there's a development
in that, and I said, can we talk about it
(03:39):
on the air? You said yes, So what is the development?
Because I don't know what you're talking about.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
Yeah, So we have two tickets to give away each
day this week Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and looking forward
to doing it. But you know, infamously we had a
contest for the last Adam Sandler tickets that just went
so swimmingly.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
So Billy used AI and AI got it wrong. Imagine that.
Speaker 3 (04:01):
Yeah, not Billy, but A. I got it wrong.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
Decision to Yes, I can blame you.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
It was reading what's in front of me.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
It was your decision to use AI. You got him,
Ron Berjack.
Speaker 5 (04:12):
AI.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
You can't just get on the air and read everything
AI says and take it for gospel.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
We screwed. We got screwed by AI.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
Last time we did this, the Chinese AI too deep seek.
What are you not using that anymore?
Speaker 1 (04:23):
Now they get your password?
Speaker 3 (04:25):
But you know, I got an email yesterday from Nate,
who was in the original contest that first day, and
he was asking Shannon if he could have tickets because
of the egregious error that we made where we said
we were asking for a wedding singer a wedding singer quote,
(04:45):
and we gave a Forrest Gump quote and then told
him he was wrong and then hung up on him.
So Nate actually sent me the link to the podcast
the time of in which the error occurred, and asked
very kindly if he could have tickets or at least
come pete in a contest to win tickets again. So, Shannon,
I did some digging to see if we had enough tickets,
(05:06):
and we do, so I just want to make sure
you think it's okay that we give Nate some tickets
after the mistakes that we made in the past.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
Your mistake was just inexcusable, saying putting on there. I'm
not a smart man, but I know what love is
and saying that is an Adam Sandler quote. We all
know that's from Forrest Gupp. That was Forrest Gup who
sat there and said that to Jinny. Right, you tell me,
you sound like you know what you're talking about. I do.
I know that I know that that quote is from
(05:33):
Forrest Gupp, not from an Adam Sandler movie. So I
think you should absolutely make it right with what's his name, Nate, Nate.
You should absolutely make it right with Nate and give
him free tickets because he was not incorrect.
Speaker 1 (05:46):
I think you're right.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
I mean, maybe we can finally put this to bed
and and you know, do some correct contest or whatever
way that we're going to give away some tickets. So Nate,
I will send some tickets your way. Shannon, how are
we gonna give away the tickets today? What's what's the
plan here?
Speaker 1 (06:01):
I think that.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
I think we should just have people call in and
and and just give their pitch to you, Billy as
to why they should get tickets. To Adam Sandler, I
think it's that easy. It could be whatever you want, anything,
whatever you think. It will be a take to convince Billy,
who has become really the hard ass of KSR. He
doesn't like dogs, Yeah, you don't like dogs, you don't
(06:24):
like kids. You know, people think that I am the heel.
They think I'm the grumpy one on KSR.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
I think you have.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
I think you've passed me and being the grumpy guy
out of the group. Like your grumpiness really is taking
on a life of its own. And I feel like
you would be really hard to convince that someone needs tickets.
So I feel like if they could convince Billy to
give them tickets, they could convince just about anybody.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
Okay, well, just mention the haybale throwing contests and Shannon
the dude's Pj's. Okay, here's the caveat too. Every week.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
Okay, I'm going to pick you first. Here's here's the
caveat though I wasn't fit. If you just call in
and just compliment Billy in, bash Shannon, or take shots
at me, I am just qualifying you as the show host, Billy,
I was making these No, No, I'm the host.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
You're the contestant. You get to choose who wins.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
But if you call in and you bash me and
you just you know, drool over Billy suck it up
to them trying to get the tickets, that's not going
to work.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
So don't do that.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
I don't want calls just bashing me and and bowing
down to Billy, because we know you don't really feel
like that. You're just saying you're just saying that trying
to get the pre tickets. So now that would be fine.
Take those two out, and then whichever way you can
convince Billy to give you the tickets, that tell we'll
do it.
Speaker 3 (07:38):
Yeah, and grump is a little strong. Maybe I'm just
willing to have takes that you're not willing to stand
on on the radio. Shannon, whether it be kids are
terrible postgame.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
Show callers at two in the morning, and I've seen
enough of that Golden.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
Retriever or lab or whatever it is at this point.
Terrible terrible takes.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Speaking of terrible takes, there was a guy who called
in on KSR last Wednesday when I was hosting KOSR
from out Washing and said that noodles don't belong in chili.
And I wanted to bring this up, Billy, because today
I am going to a chili cookoff with QMF.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
It's a QMF remote.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
We don't do a whole lot of QMF remotes, but
it's a plumber supply here in losvill Up Bluegrass Parkway,
and they're doing a chili cookoff. And I think if
it doesn't have noodles in it, Billy, that if I'm
going to be judging a chili cookoff, no.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
Noodles, you don't get you get disqualified.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
Just like if you call in and start praising Billy
during this contest today, you're gonna get disqualified. If you
don't have noodles in your chili, you're disqualified. So, Billy,
what is your take? I'm sure it's going to be
terrible but what is your take on noodles in chili?
Do noodles belong in chili?
Speaker 3 (08:41):
Yeah, I don't really care. I'm indifferent on it. In
the past, when I've had chili, there have been no
noodles in it, So I mean, I'm fine with joining it,
but it doesn't ruin the consistency for me. I don't
have terrible takes that I stand on, like I have
to have noodles in my chili, or oh no it's
not chili.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
No, it's not goodified that voice that's you the chili
cood not sound like I'm saying. Man, if you don't
have the noodles in there, it just feels like meat
and beans soup like you know chili is. But I
need no, you enjoy it to the chili, I'm saying.
If it doesn't have noodles, it's not chili.
Speaker 3 (09:19):
So it's so your big skyline guy gold star.
Speaker 2 (09:22):
Absolutely, yeah, yeah, what are you talking about? Get yourself
a three way? Yeah, I'm a big fan of that,
so I'll be going to that later on. I'll let
you know how it goes tomorrow. But if you don't
have noodles in the.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
Chili, where's the chili cook off. Did you say that?
I already said thanks for listening, only half listening to you.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
Plumbers the Plumbers Supply here in Louisville off a Bluegrass Parkway.
You can come out and I'll have some Jason Bottom
tickets to give away.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
Do you know who Jason Bonham is?
Speaker 4 (09:46):
No?
Speaker 3 (09:47):
No, who is Bottom?
Speaker 6 (09:48):
Well?
Speaker 2 (09:48):
He has hi John Bonham? You know who John Bonham is?
Never heard of a being called led Zeppelin? Yeah, yeah, okay,
John Bottom was the drummer for Zeppelin. Okay, and Jason Bottom,
the son will be coming to the Palace doing led
Zeppelin songs. Oh and Nepo Baby triving to do songs
(10:09):
and you can you can win free tickets today at
Plumber Supply. Will be there from one till three. All right, so, uh,
we already got people calling in. We'll get to we'll
get to those calls in the next segment, trying to
win some Adam Sandler tickets we have.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
We have Pro Day yesterday, Billy, did you watch any
of that?
Speaker 3 (10:26):
I tried to, but I think most of the coverage
didn't show a lot of basketball, So yeah, it wasn't
too much to watch unless you were there in person. Shannon,
What about you?
Speaker 1 (10:33):
Do you watch any of them?
Speaker 2 (10:35):
Saw some clips, didn't really get to sit there and
watch the entire thing, But I mean from what I saw,
like the I guess the main takeaway is just how
imposing this team looks.
Speaker 1 (10:44):
Big athletic can shoot the lights out.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
I think after seeing what I what little I have
seen of this team so far, I understand why Mark
Pope has such a such a confidence in this team
when he speaks about him, you know, it feels like
there's not a whole lot of weaknesses in this team,
and I think that he has has sort of correct it.
What this past year's team was missing. The things that
(11:11):
he was missing, he went out and got And I'm
very optimistic about this team. I mean, we'll see in
just a few weeks. Well, I guess we'll see a
little bit with Big Blue Madness coming up this weekend,
but we'll really find out when they take on the
number one team in the country preseason ranked Perdue coming in.
Speaker 1 (11:27):
So that's just a couple of weeks away.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
Yeah, it is almost basketball time here in the Bluegrass,
and with how athletic this team is, you got to
think naturally they're going to be better on defense. You know,
not a Kobe Bray on this team, but a lot
of different guys can shoot from outside the depth on
this team is going to lead to a lot of
possibilities for Mark Pope and just hearing from the people
that were there about the energy that this team had,
(11:51):
the drills of them diving on the floor, the punishments
that some of the players were going through. Did you
see any of those pictures or video? Shannon was the
yellow had to go touch the top of Memorial Coliseum
after talking back to Mark Pope after missing a shot.
Speaker 1 (12:05):
That's a yeah exactly.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
Rick Patina was about to say that it feels like
a very Rick Patino thing to do.
Speaker 3 (12:11):
Uh yeah, Brandon Garrison was kind of doing a bear
crawl across the pod.
Speaker 1 (12:16):
Bear crawls are the worst, the worst.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
That was one of our punishments at Bellerman when I
played baseball there. Yeah, Scott Wigant, who's the ad now,
uh was our coach and you didn't want to you
didn't want to like make coach mad to where you
had to do bear crawls because not only would you
do bear crawls, you'd have to do bear crass from
ful pole to fal pole, and you quickly realize how
big that outfield is when you're doing bear crass from
(12:41):
one foul pole to the other.
Speaker 3 (12:43):
New appreciation that outfield after you've been on it like that.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
Yeah, Uh, Pope mentioned that, you know you may see
some full court press, which you know, I had so
much just entertainment out of watching those Patino teams in
the nineties run a full court press on defense. I mean,
I don't think Pope's gonna do it, I'll but I
think we may see it some, and not just in
the last couple of minutes of a game. But you know,
if you go back and you'll watch some of those
(13:06):
Rick Potino teams, then you know the team that teams
that Pope played on, they were relentless. And I guess,
I don't know. I guess teams are just better at
breaking the full court press down. I don't know why
more teams don't do that now, because back in the nineties,
teams wouldn't have a chance. You'd have teams that could
barely even get the ball across half court. Those Patino
teams had such smothering defense, and that full court press
(13:28):
was was unstoppable.
Speaker 3 (13:30):
Yeah, and you know, not every team has a large
amount of good ball handlers. Really, one, two, even three
guys can get the ball up the court. But if
you can find them in the in the wrong shift
and have if a good full court presce, you can
force a lot of those turnovers. And that's exactly what
Ricky p did. You know you got twelve guys on
this roster that could possibly play. I know you hate
(13:50):
the platoon word, but people have maybe said it once
or twice as we've started to get ready before this season.
But you know, I think guys like you know, your
guy Malachai Moreno early on in the year, if you're
going to play that kind of depth, he might be
at somebody that's important. A guy like Trent Noah, who
all we've heard about how good of a shooter he
is in the offseason. I mean, can he make a
jump and be somebody that can stay on the floor
(14:13):
not just play sparingly. It's it's really exciting and it
comes at the right time with everything happening with football
right now. Dude, yep, But like you said, it's it's
almost here. I mean, this this month, we've got.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
Basketball and we've got tip off times. We'll talk about
that coming up after the break. Zavonimirvisach helping helping Yellowvich
adjust it to life in America. Kentucky or Loisville actually
got a new football team yesterday. We'll talk about that,
and the KSR curse struck my hometown. We'll talk about
all of this and or coming up next eight five
(14:45):
nine two twenty two eighty seven, it is.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
The ksrpre show.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
We will be giving away Adam Sandler tickets at the
end of the show or throughout the show.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
Well, we'll pick the winner at the end.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
So if you want to call in eight five to
nine two twenty two eight, you got to try to
convince Billy why you should why he should pick you
to give you the Adam Sandler tickets, and uh, Billy,
I've rolled up the people who don't like noodles in
chili crowd. Yesterday I went after the Yu gi Oh
nerds playing their yu gi oh and their their Pokemon,
(15:19):
got that crowd mad at me. Today I've got the
Chili people mad at me saying that noodles absolutely do
not belong in chet Chili, although I will say they
absolutely do.
Speaker 3 (15:29):
Yeah. The twenty year Rock DJ and wrestler knows how
to rile people up. There's no doubt about it. And
the text lines blowing up with people that say noodles
do not belong in Chile. Wrong, there'suling out your blasphemy.
There's a lot of wrong people out there. Also people
more people agree with my Shannon voice than they do
your take. Oh please, Chili has to have noodles. One
(15:50):
person does not mean most people. I'm gonna say most
people in this.
Speaker 1 (15:55):
How many people? One?
Speaker 7 (15:57):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (15:57):
One? One person? Say at least you're honest. I appreciate
your honesty.
Speaker 8 (16:01):
Said.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
All right, we'll get to the phones in just a minute.
But the tip times for Kentucky basketball have been announced,
and just going through some of them here some of
the highlights. For me, I think number one, you got
to always look at the Loiso game. That's going to
be an eight o'clock tip on a Tuesday night. You
I don't know, I hate that game being played on
a weeknight. For me, that feels like a weekend thing,
(16:23):
you know, being on a weeknight. I don't feel like
you can get the buddies together and watch the game
because that's that's the game that you want to watch
with all your friends, right if you're not at the game.
That's one of those let's have a party and let's
have people over to watch the game type events. It's
hard to do that on a Tuesday night at eight
o'clock when everybody's got to get up the next morning
and go to work. I wish they would move that
game back to a Saturday, or at least later on
(16:44):
in the year, Billy, not so early in the schedule.
Speaker 3 (16:47):
Yeah, that's the thing for me. It's just so early on.
We know JQ probably won't be a part of that game.
You know, it gives us something to talk about here
in the offseason. But yeah, it's you know, different than
what it normally is. Maybe middle eight December. I'm good
with tip time on that game. That's gonna be a
long day for us. You know where at bear Knows
just across the Ohio River over there, Shannon, so you know,
(17:08):
we always have a fun time.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
There and the Bellarmine game, which I'm interested in being
Bellerman alumni at times. That that's a one o'clock tip
on a Tuesday, right before Christmas on the twenty third,
So a rare Tuesday one pm tip.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
How many people are going to be at that game.
Speaker 3 (17:24):
No, not a ton, but you know, I think there's
a ton of excitement for this team, so they'll you'll
you'll see good crowds. Pretty much every game I saw
there weren't that many nine o'clock.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
Well, yeah, that was where I was going. Next. There's
only where I going first.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
Only I know for you because you got those late
night postgame shows. But only one week night nine pm
home game. There's a couple of other ones where they're
on the road. But you know, that's the thing we
talked about in the past, those nine o'clock home games.
It's tough for anybody outside of Lexington to go to
those games. You know, again, you got work the next morning,
(17:56):
right if you're driving in let's say from Level or
even farther away from than that. Outside of Lexington, hard
to get to a nine o'clock game, which is over
at what somewhere between eleven and eleven thirty, depending on
how many reviews the refs go to.
Speaker 3 (18:09):
I'm gonna say eleven thirty midnight, Yeah, and then.
Speaker 2 (18:12):
You know, if you get an hour and a half
two hour drive, it's tough for anybody outside the city
of Lexington to go to those games, so I felt
like they kind of took care of Kentucky on the
home nine o'clock games this year.
Speaker 3 (18:23):
Yeah, you gotta want it. If you're gonna be at
those games. Maybe Shannon can do is the Wednesday edition
of the pre show by himself after as I get
to sleep in a little bit. But you know, if
there aren't a ton of nine o'clock games, there's plenty
of eight thirty one s. So I mean it's like
it's just right there anyway. But Kentucky's gonna have one
of the best slots most of the time because most
people want to watch them. But it's you know, starting
(18:44):
to feel even more real when we start to get
all the tip times like this.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
And the one game is what nine to thirty?
Speaker 2 (18:49):
Is that the acc ACC Challenge acc SEC Challenge.
Speaker 3 (18:54):
Nine to thirty and that's a Tuesday. Yeah, we're gonna
be dragging that day.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
So eight five, nine two, eight zero, twenty two eighty seven.
I think those are the main takeaways for me on
the tip times, you know, just not having the nine
o'clock games. And we'll go to the phones in just
a minute. First of all, let me tell you though,
DraftKings Sportsbook. You can bet on all the Kentucky games
this year as you always can. With Promo code KSR.
You bet five dollars and if your bet hits, you're
gonna get two undred dollars in bonus bets instantly. You
(19:19):
can do live betting. You can do same game parlays,
player props. I didn't throw down any money last night
on Major League Baseball, although I should have. I had
a good idea of a parlay, but I didn't put
it into play as.
Speaker 1 (19:30):
I had a thought and it actually hit.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
But I didn't do it because I I won the
night before, and I go, you know what, I can't
give my money right back to Draft Kings. I have
to at least enjoy my eighteen dollars for a day
and not give it right back to them. But you
can get on there again. New customers sign up with
promo code KSR.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
Bet five.

Gaming Resources d k n G dot co, slash audio.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
All right, the phone lines are loaded. We're gonna go
to him right now.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
If you want to try to convince Billy why he
should give you the Adam Sandler tickets and try to
also have another point too, don't just you know, call
in and say I want the tickets and hang out.
Speaker 1 (20:17):
So we'll go to the phones right now. We'll go
to Gabe up first, Hey, Gabe.
Speaker 9 (20:24):
Hey, what's going on?
Speaker 7 (20:24):
Guys?
Speaker 1 (20:26):
What's up?
Speaker 7 (20:26):
Hey?
Speaker 4 (20:26):
Man?
Speaker 9 (20:28):
Can you hear me your Yeah?
Speaker 3 (20:30):
We got you?
Speaker 7 (20:31):
Okay.
Speaker 9 (20:32):
Well, first of all, on the basketball team, the what's
what's the great thing is is we have a really
hot floor and a really hot feiler. So even on
our worst days, I still think we're gonna be able
to beat most of the teams that we play. And
uh hope, I'll have a hard time with all the
(20:53):
talent we got in the debt keeping all these guys happy,
that's one of my concerns. And on Adam Sandler, I've
been to Adam Sandler fan for a long time.
Speaker 7 (21:04):
Uh.
Speaker 9 (21:05):
A lot of people don't know that Adam Sandler made
uh CDs like Comedy td uh and that was part
of the way he got his big start. You know,
of course started out live. But when I played golf
in high school, and uh, Billy, I think you appreciate this.
Speaker 7 (21:24):
Uh.
Speaker 9 (21:25):
So every before every match, the night before every golf
match that we had, I would I would religiously watch
Happy Gilmore every time just to kind of loosen loosen
the vibes and get me ready for the golf match.
And they today. So yeah, I'm a big Adam Sandlor fan.
And of course you know Billy Madison and staring out
live and anyway, Uh, I appreciate the game.
Speaker 1 (21:50):
Are you taking note of games call?
Speaker 3 (21:52):
Yeah, yeah, I got it. He's at Sandler comedy CDs
and golfing and high school night before Happy Gilma right,
playing on my emotions here as a so good first call?
Speaker 2 (22:01):
There bye, all right, real quick, let's go to Casey.
Go ahead, Casey Gay thirty seconds.
Speaker 6 (22:06):
Hey, good morning fellas. So I don't know if I've
ever told you guys this. So I've always wanted to
be a stand up comedian. I love stand up. It's
like one of my favorite things. So I would love
to see Adam Sandler live, to see what he brings
and see like learn from him a little bit. And
I'm so excited for basketball. I'm so ready.
Speaker 1 (22:24):
Let's go, mar Pope, all right, there you go. There's Casey.
She's gonna try to get some pointers from Adams.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
Wants to be a comedian, to start her stand up
comedian career.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
She's gonna go backstage meet the guy.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
We'll be right back. Maybe then we'll take more of
your phone calls coming up. Eight five nine two twenty
two eighty seven. It is the KSRP pre Show. It
is the KSR pre Show. Eight five to nine two
eight oh twenty two eighty seven. We've already got a
couple of entries into the Adam Sandler Contest. You got
to try to call in and convince Billy to give
you the tickets. But you can't suck up the Billy
and you can't bash me that. Those are the two caveats.
(22:57):
If you call up and you have even a hint
of a compliment towards Billy, I will hang up on
you and you'll be disqualified. So those are the rules, Billy,
you were telling me during the break that coming up
next Wednesday is show one thousand for the KSR pre show.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
Are you gonna get me a cake?
Speaker 2 (23:11):
I mean maybe a nice gift, maybe a free appointment
to the chiropractor. Since I've been carrying this show now
for nearly a thousand shows, like what are you gonna
get for me?
Speaker 3 (23:21):
I figured you'd take a vacation day and just let
me do the show.
Speaker 1 (23:23):
That sounds great. Actually, you know what great idea.
Speaker 3 (23:27):
Just let us build us build it up for the
next three or four shows and then Wednesday. Oh, Shannon,
the dude's out. He's got another vacation. But very grateful
for everybody that's been listening and excited to celebrate with
you guys on Wednesday. I did realize what you're doing though,
in the break, I have realized since you have made
this ticket contest, Billy decides who the winner is.
Speaker 1 (23:44):
One person's gonna be very happy that I've picked them,
but I'm also going to make six to seven people
hate me. That's what you're doing here, Shannon, is I've
got to pick seven losers and one winner here. That's right.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
Come on, I don't like that.
Speaker 2 (24:00):
Since when did you be be all timid and scared. Well,
I guess Beta Billy's coming out a little bit. See,
I don't know if you've got the Billy confidence or
if you're Beta Billy. I don't know which ones the
real Billy are.
Speaker 1 (24:12):
Sports.
Speaker 3 (24:12):
I think it's the PTSD from the last Adam Sandler contest.
That's just creeping in right now. But we made good
for that, Nate. It's getting tickets and excited to give
somebody who calls in some tickets.
Speaker 2 (24:22):
All right, So I mentioned the KSR curse striking my
hometown in Mount Washington. I teased that in the first segment.
All right, did you see this? Just a couple of
days ago, there was a plane crash and the plane
landed in like right next to an elementary school in
Mount Washington. Did you not see this in the news hole? Now,
it wasn't like a big commercial airliner. It was a
(24:44):
small private, like one seater plane. But it's coming from
Bowman Field and it crashed in Mount Washington. The pilot's fine, miraculously,
But Billy, I cannot imagine a scenario where I would
be more scared being in an air plane, even if
it was a small one.
Speaker 1 (25:02):
Knowing that I'm going down.
Speaker 2 (25:03):
Actually, I would probably be more scared in a small plane,
thinking that your chances of surviving are a lot smaller
than if you were in like a big, you know,
commercial airline. I can't imagine being in that, being that pilot,
and knowing that you're going down. They played the may
day call on the news here locally. You talk about
a situation I would not want to be in. I
hate flying to begin with. Now, imagine you're in a little, small,
(25:25):
one seater and you know you're going down, and you know,
landed in Mount Washington of all places.
Speaker 3 (25:29):
Please I get a little turbulence. I mean, the plane
goes down for just a second, and I'm ready to
scream a little may day too. So you're actually going down.
I can't imagine what's going through your brain. Who you're
trying to call, what you're thinking of. I'm looking at
the photo of the plane right now. It's it's it's
it's a small plane.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
I guess that is. It's a one seater.
Speaker 2 (25:47):
It is a tiny plane, and and that's a good
thing for everybody on the ground too. I mean, if
that's a big plane, it's that close to the elementary
school I mean it could have you know, hit that
and done a lot of damage.
Speaker 1 (25:59):
How close is that to you? Probably a couple of.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
Miles, Oh, a couple that's it. Yeah, So I mean
definitely we would have seen that thing if it happened.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
Now, if the planes landed in my backyard, that would
be the definitive evidence that the KSR curve really does exist.
Speaker 1 (26:15):
Like if it went through the man cave.
Speaker 3 (26:17):
Oh, through the cave. Oh, took the Vandy Starr off
the wall.
Speaker 2 (26:20):
Come on, Mamy, Well, I would think maybe that's you
trying to come back for some you know, revenge on me.
Speaker 3 (26:25):
You just need to put that away. Put it in
some bubble rap an't hurt anybody else.
Speaker 2 (26:30):
It's in a corner about eight feet up in the air.
I thought that, you know, everybody would be safe over
there if I just.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
Do those golf clubs collecting dust and go check them out.
Speaker 2 (26:37):
Have you taken a swing yet with the wooden I
have the wooden club.
Speaker 3 (26:41):
Yeah, it's something that it's got like screws on the face.
So I didn't really know that was legal back in
the day, but it's it's one of a kind. So
I appreciate you giving me that.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
Let's take some more calls. Let's go to Troy. Hey, Troy, Hey, Troy.
Speaker 5 (26:54):
Hello, Hello guys, good talk with you. Listen to you
guys in the morning when I'm driving a lot, give
me entertained. So yeah, call in and maybe get a
shot at those Adam Sandler tickets. First foremost, I'm gonna
be turning forty eight on the sixteenth at the hell
of a birthday present, and curious about if Adam Sandler's
gonna pull out some of the old school stuff from
(27:15):
like mid nineties, and I was listening to it on
a cassette tape. The buffoon character a little song about
his girlfriend and a shampoo bottle. Not sure if y'all
are familiar with that one. Yeah, yeah if not, If not,
maybe google that one on a break gets you a
little chuckle that might tip the scale in my favors
to get those tickets. And yeah, I also have a
(27:36):
nice Louisville golf for Simmon Wood three five and driver
that I like to pull out sometimes with some friends
until who can hit that one the farthest whe we're
out a knocking it around all r Yeah, you guys,
y'all have a good one.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
And appreciate it thanks to the call. Troy. There you go.
Speaker 3 (27:54):
You know, Gabe was talking about Sandler comedy CDs. Troy
was listening to cassettes Adam Sandler.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
I'm noticing a little angle here.
Speaker 2 (28:02):
Two out of the three have tried to relate to
you because you're a golfer, and two out of the
three have brought up golf and trying to convince you
why they deserve the tickets.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
Well, it's working. I mean, I can just imagine Gabe
watching Happy Gilmore before every round in high school.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
All right, let's go to John Short. John, do you
even know who Adam Sandler is?
Speaker 3 (28:20):
Oh? Come on, he knows.
Speaker 10 (28:21):
I didn't. I didn't listen to brother I like Archie Campbell.
Speaker 1 (28:29):
Jones, Grandpa Jones.
Speaker 2 (28:32):
Yeah yet, Shot, I had a bet off the air,
John that you wouldn't even know who Adam Sandler is.
Speaker 1 (28:38):
And I think I won the bet. Billy, I don't
think he knows who like Adam Sandler.
Speaker 10 (28:42):
John, I didn't page people. Maybe Pear Archie Cameron, Rob right.
Speaker 3 (28:49):
He told you that two shows.
Speaker 1 (28:52):
All right, John, Well, what do you got for us today?
Speaker 7 (28:55):
Okay?
Speaker 10 (28:55):
Now you don't talk about this, but we're gonna we're
gonna be texting and volleyball gainst nothing to nice on
the AC network seven o'clock. One of the LP on Radio two.
Speaker 1 (29:06):
I don't know GM Billy.
Speaker 3 (29:08):
I don't think the other one is John. I think
there are a couple of matches that will be broadcasted
on the radio this year. I don't think this one
is though.
Speaker 10 (29:15):
Oh you tell you. And since we had Pro Day
for me and Stens, we gotta do the same thing
women's basketball. We can do mans fats the same way
for women's basketball Pro Day the same day as a
means team.
Speaker 2 (29:27):
Are NBA Pro Day? Do they not have that from
the women's basketball I'm not sure.
Speaker 3 (29:31):
I'm not sure. I would have thought like Georgia Amore
would have been a big part of the one last year.
Kenny Brooks spoke to the media. The past couple of days,
we have not heard from the players, so hopefully to
hear more.
Speaker 1 (29:42):
All right, John, thanks for the call. You're a great American.
Speaker 2 (29:45):
Great peace out, homiemie, I got it.
Speaker 4 (29:51):
Let's go to j Hey, j Hey, j hey, hey, guys,
how all this morning?
Speaker 1 (29:56):
Good?
Speaker 4 (29:57):
Hey, So I think it's time for the Kentucky fans
to adhere to Mark Stoop's request and let's pony up
so we can buy him out.
Speaker 8 (30:10):
It's you know, if he.
Speaker 4 (30:12):
Wants us to pony up, I'm all for it. I'll
tip in some.
Speaker 8 (30:16):
I'll tip in a few hundred.
Speaker 4 (30:18):
If we can get enough people throughout the states, throughout
the state, I think we might be able to get
close to it. We can start to GoFundMe and just
call it pony up for Mark Stoops. But as far
as Adam Sandler tickets, the one the biggest thing that
I would look forward to go into the Adam Sandler
concert would be no Peter the Dog would be there.
Speaker 2 (30:44):
Jason's know Peter the Dog. I think he may have
now be the leader in the clubhouse because we know
your hate for Peter.
Speaker 3 (30:54):
Really a great reason. I mean, but if somebody were
to bring their dog there, hopefully it's a service dog
helping somebody get to their seat and do what they
need to do. It's not just some golden retriever that
the host needs to have on stage at all times. Shit,
but you're right, Jake, it's.
Speaker 1 (31:10):
A threat therapy dog. I don't think therapy dogs everywhere.
Speaker 3 (31:14):
I don't think that's the case, let's.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
Go back to the phones to talk to Matt.
Speaker 8 (31:17):
He Matt, Hey, guys, how are y'all doing?
Speaker 1 (31:20):
Doing great?
Speaker 3 (31:21):
Good man?
Speaker 8 (31:24):
So my question about Kentucky basketball is, does Pope need
to get a couple five stars for next year to
really submit himself as a like an all star recruiter here?
Speaker 1 (31:36):
I mean, does he have to have that? I don't know.
Speaker 2 (31:38):
I feel like Pope can do less or more with
less than maybe what Cali Perry could. I feel like
Cali Perry relied on getting the five star recruits. I
feel like Mark Pope could go out and get a
three star recruit and coach him up to play like
a five star.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
So, you know, I don't relate Billy.
Speaker 2 (31:52):
I know, like there's a lot of emphasis on how
many stars does a guy have next to his name.
I don't think that really matters that much. I mean,
it does rank the player, obviously, you want the best
of the best if you can get them. But I
don't freak out if I see that Mark Pope loses
out on a five star guy and ends up with
somebody who's a three or a four, because I feel
like Pope can can coach that guy into playing like
(32:13):
a five star and getting the best out of them,
the most potential that he has.
Speaker 3 (32:16):
Well, I would agree with that. You know, recruiting was
a question mark with Pope. He went and got some
in state guys like Jasper Johnson and Malachai Moreno, he
got some really good transfer portal guys and Denzel Aberdeen
and Modiabate, even Jaden Quainton.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
So he's he's shown he's able to recruit there.
Speaker 3 (32:31):
But you know, I agree, people maybe get caught up
on the how many stars somebody has, and that's indicative
of how much success that they're gonna have at Kentucky
and maybe in col and when they were starting year one.
But now, I mean Kentucky had how many seniors on
the roster last year. It's just kind of a different run.
Speaker 2 (32:47):
And with the transfer portal, and you know, I think
sometimes it's better to get a guy in the transfer
portal who's tried and true, you've already seen what he
could do at the college level. I'd rather take a
chance on a guy in the portal over some of
these guys. There are maybe four or five star guys
coming out of high school.
Speaker 8 (33:06):
Gotcha all right, Matt?
Speaker 1 (33:07):
Anything else? Yeah, go ahead.
Speaker 8 (33:09):
Yeah, yeah, I'm gonna play a little sympathy card here,
if that's okay. I've had two knee surgeries in the
last eight weeks, and so it would be nice to
just be able to get out of the house and
go see Adam Sandler. I'm a huge Adams Samler fan,
but it'd be nice to actually get out and go
do something that aspect of it.
Speaker 1 (33:29):
All right, Matt, thanks for the call. There you go.
Now you got Matt playing the sympathy angle.
Speaker 3 (33:34):
Bill A see, I hate that.
Speaker 2 (33:36):
Are you really gonna say no to a guy who's
just had knee surgery? I mean, you know, he just
wants to get out and enjoy a nice night with
Adam Sandler and you're gonna say no to him?
Speaker 3 (33:45):
And he also he ended it with like, so I
can get out of the house. Yeah, do something. Now,
I'm preventing him from joy entering his life because he's
had these knee surgeries. Eh see, You're not the only
pick one and they just do a random number reft No, no, no,
you got to you got to rationalize each one of them.
Speaker 2 (34:01):
We're gonna have a big decision. You are going to
have a big decision to make coming up at the
end of the show. In the next segment, let's go
to Kelly Hey, Kelly, Hey.
Speaker 11 (34:07):
Kelly, Hey, guys. A couple things first, I'm absolutely king Shannon.
Noodles belong in chili.
Speaker 7 (34:15):
There you go, they do.
Speaker 11 (34:18):
And and I guess it's I don't think it's really
a hot take, but you have to also have peanut
butter in some form or fashion, whether it's on a sandwich,
on a cracker, or just like on a plate with
your bowl of chili. Yep, okay, look, me and me
and Shannon should be besties. I'm also gonna, you know,
(34:38):
pull at your heartstrings a little bit here, Billy. If
you listen to last Thursday show. Ran at the end
of like the first segment, gave me a shout out
because I've been in the hospital. Didn't just having a
really hard time with some health stuff and I needed
to laugh. Also, he didn't give Shannon. He and Drew
got to say something, but he didn't give Shannon a
(34:58):
chance to say so, like, you need to deal with
him on that. Shanean not giving you time to give
people shout outs when they need him. But yeah, I mean,
like laster is the best medicine. And so I love
Adam Sandler. I think him and Fate and Farley were
like the epitome of Saturday Night Live for me.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
So come on, all right, Kelly. First of all, are
you are you feeling better now? I mean, obviously you're
filling up for going to see Adam Sandler, so that
it sounds like things are better for you.
Speaker 11 (35:32):
I definitely feel better. I'm heading to work from a
doctor's appointment now, but but I'm definitely on the upswing
for sure.
Speaker 2 (35:41):
Good, good, good, all right, great to hear. Well, we'll
see if Billy has a heart, and we'll give you tickets.
We'll find out coming up here in just a few minutes.
Thank you for the call, Kelly. Good to hear from.
Speaker 11 (35:50):
All right, awesome, guys, have a good day.
Speaker 3 (35:51):
All right, there you go, all right before the hospital.
Speaker 2 (35:54):
Need to laugh before we go to that last break,
Billy tell us who the segment sponsored by.

calls and we'll have Billy pick one to win Adam
Sandler tickets up next on the ksrpre Show. Final segment
of the KSR pre Show, and we will be The

What the Nest is is a local nonprofit that helps
families and crises and it helps parents escape domestic violence,
providing counseling and giving kids a safe place to grow.
And anytime that you go to Whitecastle between now and

two eight twenty two eighty seven, Let's take a couple
(38:20):
more phone calls.
Speaker 1 (38:21):
Let's go to Brandy. Hey, Brandy, Hey, how are y'all good?
Speaker 3 (38:25):
Good?
Speaker 12 (38:28):
I don't really have much about basketball other than I'm
ready for it because football has been disappointing this year.
But just you know, as far as Adam Sandler goes,
I'm an eighties baby and snuck and ballt that they're
all gonna laugh at you. Ced listen to a lot
with my sisters. One of the first songs I taught
my son was lunch Lady Land. We've watched every movie
(38:50):
of his together, and he quotes Happy Gilmore daring miniature golf.
So WKU alam in eight and twenty thirteen got out
to the Hilltoppers and I work for UK now, So
I mean it feel like I'm a well balanced choice.
Speaker 7 (39:07):
You know.
Speaker 1 (39:07):
There you go?
Speaker 6 (39:08):
All right?
Speaker 2 (39:09):
All right, Brandy, Brandy, Yeah, she ties into w k
U grad works at UK.
Speaker 3 (39:17):
I do like the image of teaching your son lunch
Ladyland is their first.
Speaker 2 (39:21):
Song, better that one than the Thanksgiving song Let's go
to matt Ain't.
Speaker 7 (39:27):
What's up, guys, I've been Uh. I just finished my
meditation out in the garden in the rain, the rain.
I put my fluming trunk so firefooted, took.
Speaker 1 (39:38):
Shirt off, meditated that rolling around in the mudd.
Speaker 7 (39:41):
But yes, sir, yes sir, and I have to give
you props again, shading in those pumpkins look great. I mean,
you did a good job. But I'm a huge Adam
Sandler fan. But most of all, I'm a big your
ks R fan, and especially you two Billy. I'll never
(40:06):
forget Billy coming over and talking to me when I
I came to one of your shows that Shady rays
and that's it touched my heart. But I just got
you know, I was. I have had some health issues
the past year, and I've been in the hospital twice.
Uh That's why I started the meditation. Just got out
(40:29):
about last week, and I just want to say I
was listened.
Speaker 9 (40:35):
To you' all every day.
Speaker 7 (40:37):
It helped keep me uh occupied, and and and and
kept my mind off what I was going through. So
I appreciate y'all so much. But I gotta ask, Billy,
have you ever played golf at Myrtle Beach?
Speaker 3 (40:55):
I have not.
Speaker 7 (40:56):
Matt, Oh have you ever? Do you ever go to
Myrtle Beach?
Speaker 1 (41:01):
I have never been, So I mean, we gotta get
to it. We gotta get to it.
Speaker 7 (41:06):
Hell, Myrtle Beach has got a million golf courses. I can,
I can get you hooked up. My brother works.
Speaker 1 (41:17):
Okay, there you go. Yah, yeah, we appreciate it. I
let you go.
Speaker 2 (41:19):
All right, Billy, here's the time. You gotta pick. Who
gets the Adam Sandler tickets? Is it Gabe who's a
longtime fan of Saandlor played golf and watched Happy Gilmour
before he played Casey who wants pointers for being a
comedian from Adam Sandler. You got Troy, just turned forty eight,
a longtime fan. You get Jay who says no, Peter
the Dog will be there. You get Matt who just
had knee surgery. Kelly's been in the hospital, Brandy had
(41:41):
all the CDs, watched every movie wk U Alum and
Matt who's rolling around in the muddy garden and.
Speaker 1 (41:47):
Has health issues too. So which one do you want
to pick? And say no to? Everybody? Else quick.
Speaker 3 (41:51):
Yeah. Well, first of all, everybody that's dealing with health issues,
we're thinking about you. Hopefully you are on the road
to recovery.
Speaker 1 (41:57):
Thought I was going to give it to our guy
Jay because of the Peter the dog, but I'm going Brandy.
