eight zero to two eight seven. You can always text

five six. And the KSR Pre Show is brought to

(00:21):
you by Italics Fine Italian Dining in Lexington, Kentucky at
the City Center on Main Street. You can call us
and be our Whiskey Thief call of the day. And
we had a great time at Whiskey Thief last Friday,
kicking off the holiday weekend where now it's the sun
is shining bright. We all fell back on our clocks.
Hopefully we're well rested and ready to go on this

(00:42):
Monday morning. Shannon the Dude is alongside in Louisville. Good morning, Shannon.
What's up?

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Hey man, what's up?

Speaker 3 (00:47):
I was completely thrown off by the time change this morning.
I was waking up at four thirty. My body is saying, hey,
let's go, it's time to go to work, Get time
to go, get up, and I look at the clock
and it's four thirty, So now it's four thirty nine,
just lying there wide away, going what do I do now?
So I hate the time change, man. I wish we
would pick one time, stick with it, and say this

(01:08):
is the time we're going with forever. We don't need
to keep changing every time the season changes, but we
do here in Kentucky and throughout most of America, and
it's ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
We need to just pick a time and stick with it. Whatever.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Now, Yeah, we have this conversation twice a year, right
and this is our second time having it. We've talked
about Congress having a bill and that just kind of died.
Not sure where that's at right now. So who knows
if we'll ever have a normal system again. But we've
been doing this for a while and we'll keep on
doing it. Is this the only acceptable day you can
be late for? Something? Like? Do you give somebody any

(01:41):
credence because of the fallback? Or is it because we've
had an extra day? It's like you need to get
together with it.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
Well, I mean, I saw like a study that says
it takes most people like a week to get adjusted
to the time change.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Okay, but if we're falling back.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
I mean it would be like when you jump forward,
it would be when it would be confusing with the
time right when you would be late.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
Sure, I'm sure. No, I don't think you could use
that as an excuse. Okay, I think I think probably
people are though I'm sure there are some people this week,
but hopefully everybody had a good Halloween weekend, you know, Shandon,
I don't know if the kids trick or treat like
they used to anybody.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
They don't, they don't.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
I just don't think there's the want to anymore in
the younger generation. Here I go back in my day,
but Shanda, I mean, we had kool Aid packets, we
had Pringles cans, we had Nerd gummy clusters ready to
give the whole neighborhood candy, and we really really only
saw about seven or eight people, so it was a
little disappointing on.

Speaker 3 (02:35):
Our I would had one, not one person, not one,
not one. And that's the way it was last year too.
When I was a kid at my grandparents, they would
sit down with a pen and a paper and they
would tally up all the trick or treaters that they
would have, and it would be you know, some of
your seventy eighty sometimes even one hundred trick or treaters
and I didn't have a single one show up, So

(02:56):
I don't know. I think that trunk retreat has become
a big thing. Yeah, that's trick or treating, though, right
when you go into a parking lot and there's just
a bunch of people with their trunks open with candy
in it, that's not the true trick or treating experience.
Trick or treating is going up to some stranger's house
who may or may not put needles in your candy,
and you're you're testing fate. You're knocking on the door,

(03:16):
you're asking for candy, and you're just hoping that that
stranger is giving you some good stuff, but you never know,
and that's part of trigger treating. I think trunk or
treating it has become like the more safe thing to
do because you don't have kids like crossing streets and
all that stuff at night.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
That come on, man, oh, they can't cross streets anymore.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
I think that's probably the mentality of a lot of parents.
I don't know, but it seems to be like trunk
or treating is huge trick or treating not so much,
but it's uh, yeah, it's it's a little depressing, you
know kids.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
Yeah, trigger treating anymore. Yeah, it isn't the same. Uh.
And they've also kind of faced out the bad candies.
I feel like, so like you know what in the
past used to get like a circus peanut or something
that Holy Dad would have. Yeah, and those are getting
phased out, and part of me is like, I mean,
I feel like we're losing a little bit of the
shine and the magic of Halloween. But I did like

(04:05):
Ryan Lemon, not only his costume at Whiskey Thief, how
awesome was his Mike Dicka, but his setup passing out candy.
If you didn't see it, he's got the mask on,
he's got a smoke machine going on streamers coming down
from the garage. I think he said on the pregame
show he only made one kid cry Friday night, So
that's good. That's making progress for a guy.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
I would have set the over under a like five
kids crying from Ryan. You know, like he seems to
take joy in terrorizing little kids, and the younger the better,
Like he will go up and just you know, scare
the life out of a little baby and has no
shame in it whatsoever. So that's like Ryan Lemon's Super Bowl.
He loves Halloween. He loves scaring little kids if they

(04:44):
fall down and scrape their knee. He probably loves that
even more. It's a little satistic.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
I feel, well, hold on, we don't want any of that.
I am as much as anybody would like to see
the children scared on Halloween. But when he did it
to the kid in the wheelchair, I think maybe that
was over.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Crossing the line.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
If the kid comes up with an oxygen tank on,
you can't scare the kid. He's off limits.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
Okay, let him be.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
Yeah, let him just have the candy this time.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
But I was talking about the needles in candy. There
were let's say two Kentucky counties that had I think,
like needles in candy. Like speaking of sadistic, I mean,
who is doing that? Yeah, there were a couple of
like I guess chocolates that had needles in the candy.
And it happened in Kentucky. This is on the news

(05:29):
right here this morning.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
Is that like a packaging issue or was that like
somebody that was passing out the candy inserted that into
the candy.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
I don't think it's a packaging issue. I think it's
a person who hates kids issues.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
Well, okay, so it was like the person handing out
the candy that's putting the needle in it, not just
like a can.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
I don't think Snickers normally just includes free needles.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
In their ty. That'd be a problem.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
Like a Crocker Crocker tack box when you reach in
there and you get the tattoo that come.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Off, you know, Yeah, yeah, I don't shoot.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Yeah, there's a needle in here.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
Yeah. I don't think that's part of the packaging normally.
But yeah, check your candy.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
If you haven't Harvy, Yeah, check your candy. Ryan or
not Ryan. But Mario and Matt went out and did
a video of like best Halloween costumes, and there were
a lot of people in Lexington. Shann you missed that
life at all, going out and just the madness of
it all, because that game's definitely passed me up. What's
trigger treating? No, like the Halloween party seems like going

(06:25):
out to bars and things like that. I mean, you're
you're ancient at this point. Do you miss those days?

Speaker 3 (06:30):
I love going out and doing all that stuff. Like
when Phoenix Ell Tavern was still around in Louisville, they
would have me out there hosting like costume contest and
all kinds of crazy stuff. I love that stuff, So no,
it hasn't passed me by.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
Yeah, one of those things. I feel like you're in
it for an hour and then you've probably seen enough.
But that's that's old Billy R Sports this morning and
young at heart Shannon the dude. We can all get
behind though. A Kentucky football victory. How about that? Ten
to three? Yeah, Kentuckucky beats Auburn.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
Kentucky actually won a game. So now, like what do
we like?

Speaker 1 (07:01):
What do we do?

Speaker 3 (07:02):
Well, here's my question, Like for everybody today on the show, Okay,
he beat Auburn, I don't think not many people except
for maybe one person on the show picked Kentucky to
beat Auburn coming so I was the only one holding
out hope for a win. Now that he has won
this game, and you heard like that the postgame interview
where he's he's talking about Kentucky and how much this

(07:22):
win means to him, and his voice is kind of cracking,
you know, and he's kind of getting emotional. He says,
you know, to the interview, you're about to make me cry.
How can you not feel for Mark Stoops in that
moment after that win, in that interview, when he's about
to cry because of how much that win meant to
him here at Kentucky. I don't know, man, even if
you don't like Mark Stoops, I feel like he's got

(07:44):
my sympathy a little bit after hearing that interview.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
No, it was a special moment. I said on the
postgame show that that was probably my favorite part of
the season seeing Mark Stoops be emotional at the end
of that game, because he's brought a lot of success
to this program, and you know, it means a lot
to him talking about the criticism that he's received, the
fan base turning on him to a degree, and for
them to go out there and win in the state
of Alabama for only the third time in school history,

(08:10):
I believe was simply incredible. Now it was Mark Stoops ball.
Don't get me wrong. It was ten to three. Kentucky
had more punt yards than they did offensive yards, but
a big response from the defense. Brad White after a
terrible outing versus Tennessee really responded, and Hugh Freeze gets
fired the next day, and probably rightly so for the

(08:31):
amount of changing that they did at quarterback and just
some of the boneheaded decisions that they made throughout the game.
All in all, Mark Stoops and Kentucky snaps the longest
losing streak in SEC play ten games, and was the
longest after Mississippi State got the win earlier in the
day on Saturday. So where are you at? Eight five

(08:52):
nine two eight oh two two eight seven? Tell us
what you think about Mark Stoops And I guess there's a.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
Path to six wins.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
A path, Yeah, there's a path to seven. I guess
if you wanted to get in a little path to
seven crazy, But I mean, look, you play Florida at home,
and then is it Tennessee Tech after that? And then
two road games against Vanderbilt in Louisville. I mean, this
is kind of where we all had them when we
were doing our preseason predictions to start the year. So

(09:21):
can they beat a bad Florida team? Can they finish
the year out? Shannon? It was just obviously nice to
get off the snide and finally win a game. Was
it not nice?

Speaker 3 (09:29):
So they could win one of those at home, so
our fans could actually enjoy that. You know, but Florida
is beatable. You get them at home coming up on Saturday. Look,
we keep just saying Tennessee Tech is a guaranteed win.
I will remind you even though they've played basically nobody,
the School for the Blonde.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
They are nine to er right now.

Speaker 3 (09:48):
All right, so you got that game that's not going
to be an easy win. And then you know, let's
say you beat Florida. Let's say you do beat Tennessee Tech.
Now you're at five. And then you got Vanderbilt in Louisville.
And we know Mark Stoops when he's up, when his
back is against the wall, Mark Stoops is at his best.
You know, we talked about that game this past Saturday

(10:09):
against Auburn. We called that game a loser leaves town match,
and sure enough, it was like they've got Hugh Freeze fires.
And that's another conversation in its own. How many coaches
have lost their job because Mark Stoops beat their team?

Speaker 2 (10:21):
Like Kentucky?

Speaker 3 (10:22):
Is that team now that like Kentucky beat You're like, man,
we're so bad, we're gonna just fire our coach.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
That's the fine. That's yeah, that's the straw that broke
the camel's back, right.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
Mark Stoops is the terminator for college coaches. If he
beats you, you're gonna lose your job on Monday.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
And so here's the duality of the post game show.
The other night. The first caller had completely flipped. Mark
Stoops had won him back. He was emotional. This is
what football. The first call first caller, you hear this,
you're telling me.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
The first caller on the postgame show was already back
on with Mark Stoops.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
Completely back on with Mark Stups. I mean it's back
in his camp. Third caller was mad Kentucky one. He
just wants to rip the band aid off, get with it.
The losses will mean they will fire Stoops. We've talked
a lot about this.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
I'm never understand that fan who wants your team. If
you're a fan, you call yourself a fan, and you
want your team to lose so that they'll move on
and get a new coach, you're not.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
I don't think you're really a fan.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
I don't want to tell people how to fan Billy,
but the one thing I would say about being a
fan is you never pull for your team to lose,
like I can never pull for my teams to lose.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
Yeah, so you know what.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
I'm saying, Like, it's no I agree, And I think
Drew had the best point on this. You don't get
a number one overall pick, you don't get a better
draft lottery chance for losing games. It just puts your
program behind the eight ball. The callers point was you're
just kicking the can down the down the road with this.
But man, it felt like Kentucky football was back, at
least for one night. It's Saturday night. Even though it

(11:52):
was the game, probably the most people didn't watch with
YouTube TV and Disney still having their outages. I found
it on you YouTube. Somebody was just streaming it on YouTube.

Speaker 2 (12:01):
Chan and there are our ways to watch it. Who
told you that?

Speaker 4 (12:04):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (12:04):
YouTube, you can get on YouTube.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
And it doesn't matter if it's a basketball game or
a football game, if it's Kentucky, there's going to be
somebody streaming it just on regular I'm not talking about
YouTube TV right, talking about regular YouTube where you can
watch it for free if you have to, because again
it's greed between YouTube TV and Disney and ESPN where
they want to have these holdouts and these negotiations. Meanwhile,

(12:27):
people who are paying one hundred dollars a month subscribing
to YouTube tv can't even watch the game.

Speaker 2 (12:33):
I hope that YouTube TV lost a.

Speaker 3 (12:35):
Ton of subscribers over the weekend because I know if
I were a subscriber, which I'm not, but if I were,
I wouldn't be today.

Speaker 1 (12:43):
Yeah, they said, oh, we'll give you a twenty dollars
credit if this keeps up.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
Twenty dollars. No, that's not no, that's.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
Yeah, use your monthly fee at this point, and you know,
all the ESPN talent that had to come out and say,
you know, like this is happening, it felt like it
was just they were being used by the company and stuff.
So it was an odd weekend. It's still out right now.
So maybe you've mixed, you've switched back the direct TV
or Dish, or maybe you've just got a media box
and took the advice of Shannon the Dude back in

(13:10):
the day. But you'll have to get it back to
watch the rest of the Kentucky games. And boy, we
got a big week folks. I mean, the women's basketball
season starts tonight versus Morehead State, Kentucky plays two games
this week, including I believe it's Nickels State on Tuesday
to start the year, and then another game Friday and
football Saturday. So busy season is here, crossover season is here,

(13:32):
November is here, and it's going to start getting a
little cold outshine. But the daylight threw me off a
little bit this morning, I will say that, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
It did me too. Do you realize that we've got
a college basketball game going on right now?

Speaker 1 (13:44):
Right now?

Speaker 2 (13:44):
Right now? Who's playing Queen's and Winthrop?

Speaker 3 (13:49):
So this is the kickoff that, like I'm just telling
you college but you didn't even realize it. College basketball
season is officially tipped off right now. We got the
game going on and it's on YouTube.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
So it's on YouTube.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
It is I think the actual YouTube.

Speaker 3 (14:03):
Well, and it's a no bighter. It's a noll bighter.
It's forty five, forty three in the second half.

Speaker 1 (14:07):
Well, look at that. We've got something to turn on
this morning. I don't know if it's the twenty four
to seven of college basketball like they used to do,
but it feels nice. Feels nice to have college basketball back. Also,
we got to talk about that World Series. Man, oh,
my gosh, man, you want to you wanna save that
for next time? We'll save We'll save it for next day.
About that that game? Seven? Und I mean the whole series? Yeah,
the whole series. We'll talk about it. Eight five nine
two O two two eight seven. If you'd like to

(14:29):
join the show, much more on the way here on
the KSR pre Show. Welcome back Monday edition of the
KSR pre Show. Maybe Mark Stoops channeling the song a
little bit after the win versus Auburn gives a call
today eight five nine two eight h two two eight seven.
I've got back to back text on the text line
I'm going to read for you, Shannon ert Uh. The
first says, Billy, it was a ten It was ten

(14:51):
to three against a terrible team that fired their coach
after the loss. How excited can we get over this game?
The very next text is I'm not predicting seven win,
but who on our schedule do you think we have
no chance of beating? No, Shannon, Well, there's a lot
of teams we have no chance of beating. So one
person thinks that, you know, there's a chance that Kentucky

(15:11):
could win out and go seven wins. The next thinks that, hey,
let's pump the brakes. They had to fire Hugh Freeze
right after the game because it was that bad.

Speaker 3 (15:19):
So I mean, I feel like we're gonna get all
of this. I'm more on the side of, yeah, let's
pump the brakes. It is a good win, though, it
is worth celebrating, and it is worth I think celebrating
Brad White's defense, who had a terrible game just last
week against Tennessee, probably the worst in his tenure, and
then comes back with probably his best defensive performance. I mean,
if you think about it, Cutter Bowley throwing that interception
right before halftime. If that doesn't happen, Kentucky pitches a

(15:41):
shutout against Auburn because Auburn came back and got their
three points on that right before halftime, right.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
That's where they scored it.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
So, I mean, if you figure that doesn't happen, let's
just say they run the clock out and go to halftime.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
Kentucky wins ten nothing.

Speaker 1 (15:55):
A couple things from that game twenty minus plays forced
by the Kentucky defense, seven sacks, thirteen tackles for loss.
They had nine quarterback hurries compared to only one by
Auburn's defense, So that really shows you how dominant they
were in that game. Yep. Also, I believe it was
Cam Miller that was given the game ball by Stoops
after the game after Cutter Bowlly through that terrible interception.

(16:17):
But Cam didn't quit on the play. He came back.
He forced a fumble Shannon. That was the first fumble
recovered by Kentucky this year and that was forced by
an offensive player, believe it or not. Unbelievable stat when
it comes to no fumbles recovered besides the one forced
by the receiver after an interception. That was a huge
play in the game.

Speaker 3 (16:37):
It was We've had our chances to recover fumbles. I
think back to SHA's Pete, which, by the way, I
said that SHA's Pete was gonna be my MVP and
actually recover a fumble. I wasn't too far off of
my predictions with that either. But yeah, that was a huge,
huge recovery there. And look again, I know it's ugly,
but these are the types of games that Kentucky football
are going to win, especially in the SEC. Kentucky is

(16:59):
not going to win thirty five to ten against anybody
in the SEC. They're going to have to win these
games where they muck it up. You know, it's a
ten to three game, a twelve to six game, those
types of games, that's what those are the types of
games Kentucky has to win, and that's the type of
game they do win. Otherwise they get blown out if
they don't play that type of game.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
It was a Mark stoops wet dream. There's no doubt
about it. I mean, he got his moment. Yeah, I'm
glad he did. I mean, as much as negativity there's
been around the program that did feel like a weight
off of a lot of people's shoulders, does that change
what eventually happens at the end of the season. I
mean not, but you know, at least they had he
had this moment.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
It could I mean, if you come back again next
week and you beat Florida and then you finish out
with a winover Louisville, I think, yeah, I think if
he gets to five with a winover Louisville, he keeps
his job.

Speaker 1 (17:53):
But not against Florida and Tennessee Tech. To get to five, see,
then I think it's tough.

Speaker 3 (18:00):
We've been saying if he gets to five, he probably
still keeps his job.

Speaker 1 (18:03):
I'm in that camp. I think if he gets to five,
Mitch doesn't make a move.

Speaker 3 (18:06):
Yeah, we saw the two hugging each other after the game.
You know, I take that for what it's worth. I mean,
if you say a pitcher's worth a thousand words, you
could take that two different ways, you know, true hugging
him because he got the win and he's happy for him,
or hugging him because, hey, this is it could be
our last time we're going to celebrate together because you're
gone at the end of the year.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
I don't know, depends on how you want to look
at that.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
Regardless, it's time to get back to work. And that's
what Mark Soube said after the game. And if you'd
like to bet on the Kentucky to win their next game,
you should do it on Draft King.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
That's right. Yeah, use the promo code KSR.

Speaker 3 (18:35):

Offer a lot of people on the phone, so let's
take a call before we hit our herd break coming
up here, Shannon, who's up?

Speaker 2 (19:28):
First? Start with Judy Morning.

Speaker 3 (19:30):
Judy, good morning.

Speaker 1 (19:33):
How are you all?

Speaker 2 (19:35):
We're great?

Speaker 3 (19:38):
Great?

Speaker 1 (19:39):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (19:39):
Well, kudos to the football team is especially Bred White
and the Dents and the.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
Women's volleyball.

Speaker 3 (19:53):
Texas is not lost.

Speaker 4 (19:55):
Three in a row since two thy twelve.

Speaker 1 (20:02):
Yes, impressive sweep by the Wildcats this weekend against the
number two team in the country. Judy, that was awesome.

Speaker 2 (20:13):
Say what is an awesome?

Speaker 3 (20:14):
And that's Judy's phone connections struggling a little bit.

Speaker 1 (20:18):
I was listening to a show this morning, So fast, Judy,
you go, I can't really understand. No, I'm sorry, Judy,
you have a bad cell phone connection. You'll have to
give us a call back. But she's right, man. How
about Craig Skinner and that volleyball team sweeping Texas, like
Judy says, I think it was first time in twelve

(20:40):
so or so years that Texas had been swept at
home like that. I mean, you played the number two
team in the country. You think it's going to be
a close game, but swept them and on their way
to maybe hosting until the Final four this year for
the volleyball team.

Speaker 3 (20:53):
So they're going to jump up to number two in
the new rankings at least, right. I don't know what
the number one team in volleyball did with is that
still nebrascood?

Speaker 1 (21:01):
I don't know, yeh, I believe.

Speaker 3 (21:02):
So yeah, but uh, I mean yeah, Craig Skinner's got
a National Championship contender team, There's no doubt about it.
We talked about that brutal schedule that he played in
the non conference, and I think it's paying off as
he gets into the conference playing against top teams in
the SEC.

Speaker 1 (21:15):
And undefeated in the SEC. I mean that that was
really the big hurdle Texas in the SEC. So they're
on their way of winning another SEC championship. And I
mean they've only won like what nine straight or something
like that, Shannon, So it's been simply incredible. So about
time we have Craig Skinner back on the pre show.
You got any more vacation coming up?

Speaker 2 (21:35):
It is, as a matter of fact, I do.

Speaker 1 (21:37):
I said that, but I didn't know.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
Yeah, you'll just.

Speaker 3 (21:41):
Be a little bit patient to wait till like the
end of the year. I've got like another week or
so to burn. So yeah, you can have them on there,
You can have them on every day if you want to.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
Well, you don't use them, you lose them. That was
one of the first things Shannon the Dude told me
beck Is beck when I joined iHeart back in twenty seventeen. Bly,
you'll learn a lot, but if you don't learn anything else, today.

Speaker 3 (22:00):
This that's right smokeing if you got them, and I've
got plenty to burn. I've got plenty to burn, so
let's do it.

Speaker 1 (22:06):
You know, I understand, I understand, but uh not for
all of us though. It's a busy time of the
year and we're excited for it. We'll talk a little
UK women's basketball. They start their season tonight versus Morehead State.
And we mentioned the World Series. Well, we've got to
talk about that on the other side of the break,
as long as take some more calls eight five nine
two eight h two two eight seven Billy and the
Dude on the ksrpre Show, We'll be right back. Welcome

(22:28):
back Billy and the Dude here on a Monday of
the ksrpre Show. We'll hand it off to KSR at
ten am. We'll talk a little World Series in just
a second, But Shannon, it was announced that MTV is
canceling Ridiculousness. Some interesting numbers came out over the weekend.
That show was on for fourteen years, forty six seasons

(22:49):
and one eight hundred and seventy episodes, and Rob Didrich,
at least, according to Bloomberg Business, made at least thirty
two point five million dollars each year for hosting the
show Ridiculousness. I did the math at his four hundred
and fifty five million dollars that he brought in from
that show.

Speaker 3 (23:06):
Where do I get a gig like that? Because you're
just talking about stupid videos? And my other thought about
this is what's gonna be on MTV now they just
get on static for twenty four hour because I mean, like,
you turn it over to MTV. It's either that or
do they still play like teen Mom two? Because I
feel like that was the only two things they would
play on MTV. And I'm going, who is watching this? Like,

(23:28):
like I don't know, Like you know, I say that.
My neighbor right next to me goes, yeah, I watch
Ridiculousness on MTV. I'm going him, Yeah, he's like he's
in his sixties, he's like sixty eight years old and
he's watched I guess he's like the demo for that.
I don't know, but uh yeah, you hate to see
it for MTV.

Speaker 4 (23:45):
Right.

Speaker 3 (23:46):
See. MTV made me marry years ago when they stopped
playing music videos because why in the world would music
television play anything related to music? Instead, let's just put
on reality TV. It's it's it's so stupid. I don't
know what MTV's business model even is.

Speaker 1 (24:03):
That show is so simple. I mean it was like
Powerade Tosh point zero and the chick had such an
annoying laugh on the show and it I mean, I
don't know how it lasted this long. But we can
call Rob a professional bag getter at this point. A
professional bag getter is sho heeo Tani and the Dodgers
won back to back games after going down three to
two in the World Series to beat the Blue Jays

(24:24):
to win back to back World Series titles, and the
endings of Game six and seven may have been some
of the best baseball I've ever seen. Shannon, Yeah, it
was simply incredible to double play in the bottom of
the ninth to end the game of Game six, the
Dodgers win three to one. You then had in Game
seven just some of the craziest stuff happened. That home

(24:44):
run in the ninth to tie it. Yep, the catch
knocking down the other outfielder to force it into extra endegies.

Speaker 2 (24:50):
That was the World Series right there.

Speaker 1 (24:52):
Blue Jays win if he doesn't make that catch.

Speaker 3 (24:54):
Crazy crazy Game seven I mean, you factor in Game
six how it ended, then the eighteen inning game, Billy,
I think that this is the best World Series, at
least of my lifetime, that I've ever seen. And I
don't want to hurt myself patting myself on the back.
But again, I called the Dodgers in seven. Did I
not a Dodgers in seven? Yeah, maybe you did, but

(25:17):
tape check the tape.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
Yeah, but you will. I'm sure Will Smith hits a
home run and extra innings. I mean, it's always magical
to get a Game seven in any sport, but then
the Game seven is so dramatic, then it goes to
extra innings like that a Louisville player hits the home
run at Kentuckian, as the Lexington Herald leaders said, which
I kind of I liked them posing it as a
Kentucky instead of a lousle Villion. But the Dodgers win

(25:41):
back to back, they're ruining baseball at least some time
to The.

Speaker 3 (25:45):
Yankees were in the World Series like every year in
the late nineties early two thousand, So stop saying that
the Dodgers are running baseball.

Speaker 1 (25:53):
I think the first to win back to back since
the Yankees back in the early two thousand.

Speaker 3 (25:56):
But my takeaway was from that if you were one
of those booseballs bull go back and watch that World
Series and tell me that baseball is boring like that,
I think that World Series created a lot of new
baseball fans if you actually watch the game instead of
trying to tell me that baseball is boring. Yeah, go
playoff baseball. Go watch golf and tell me baseball is boring.

Speaker 1 (26:15):
Don't don't have to bring golf into this. Playoff baseball
is fantastic, no matter the team. But that World Series
was incredible. And then what was it Yamamoto? Yeah six innings, Yeah,
the night before then comes back for Game seven to
play oh Tani.

Speaker 3 (26:29):
I feel like they got a little greedy with Otani.
But you know what, if I'm the Dodgers and I'm
paying them that much money, if I need them out
there for every single game to pitch, You're gonna go
out there because I'm paying you that ridiculous salary. But yeah,
I feel like they got a little greedy with starting
him off of short rust. But you know what, Dodgers win,
and I don't think that it ruins baseball in any way. Yeah,

(26:49):
They've got a huge payroll, no doubt about it.

Speaker 2 (26:52):
But it was Team America versus Team Canada.

Speaker 3 (26:54):
Billy, and even though I don't like the Dodgers, I'm
always going to be Team America.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
Well I was too, but then I was starting to
root for the little guy. I was starting to root
for those Blue Jay fans who were already crying in
the stadium when the game was tied. In Game seven
of the World Series. I guess they had, you know,
seen the writing on the wall. But a really good series,
and you just don't get them like that very often,
so try to enjoy that. Matt and I were watching
it live during the postgame show, so that was a

(27:20):
that was cool to see our genuine reactions to that.
But the Dodgers get the victory. A five nine two
two two eight seven. Who's up next on the phone.

Speaker 2 (27:27):
Line, Let's go to Mickey. Hey, Mickey, So, Mickey, Hey, how.

Speaker 4 (27:33):
You doing guys? I actually my wife and my wife
and I are are our way back from the football game.
We left Alabama this morning. But a couple of thanks, Billy.
The environment there was one of the best I've ever
seen in terms of what they do in production class
and music class in southe State. It's just a fain

(27:58):
And to top it off, they have that damn people
launched from the second level and go around the stadium
walls and land and in the yarm line with something
the big Hold. But hey interesting. On Sunday we actually
went to brunch and somebody when the announcement came out
about the breeze lose his job, the TP the Tumor's corner,

(28:22):
And when we got out of lunch there was a
TV crew there asking everybody's opinion about what do you
think about the coach getting tired? My grandson wanted to doc,
but his mom wouldn't let him. But one thing for
you guys to think about. And I could be wrong here,
but I think Stoop's contract calls for if he goes
to a boat game, doesn't he get another year on

(28:44):
his contract? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (28:47):
Bill, Billy, I don't.

Speaker 1 (28:49):
Honestly, I don't know what his contract reads.

Speaker 2 (28:51):
Do you know, Billy?

Speaker 4 (28:51):
Do you know?

Speaker 1 (28:52):
If no, I don't know where the contract sits today. Yeah,
but that would that would be something if you got sick,
I would hope it then got an extra year.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
That's not true.

Speaker 1 (29:02):
After all the complaining people have done about that part
of the contract if it's true, and appreciate the call there, sir.
I mean that sounds like a fun trip to Auburn,
especially any trip on the road when your team wins.
But then they're rolling the tree after Hugh Freeze gets fired.
Did you hear the fan base after the game channing

(29:22):
fire Hugh? Yeah? During the game, right, I mean it
was like I guess maybe right after it was ugly scene.
Ugly scene they had. He had to cancel his tea
time Sunday Reports. I mean, you got to take that
with a grain of salt, but he had to move
his tea time and that was a big part of
the off season discussion with you, right.

Speaker 2 (29:41):
T Tom Hugh versus motivated.

Speaker 1 (29:43):
Mark time Mark. Speaking of losses, Vanderbilt couldn't get the
best of Texas despite a close on side kick at
the end of it, Shannon, that was for your Vanderbilt
Commodore's But it seemed like arch leaving the game or
not being in the game helped them.

Speaker 4 (29:59):
Well.

Speaker 3 (29:59):
They EXAs and what was it, thirty four to ten
and came back and scored twenty one unentered.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
So every four to thirty one yeah.

Speaker 3 (30:05):
I mean that Vanderbilt team is even though they got
two losses. I mean it's to Texas into Alabama, so
we'll see. I mean they're fighting to try to, you know,
get into the playoff conversation. They were in it, I
think until they lost to Texas on Saturday. But uh yeah,
I mean that's them in Indiana. Man, Like Indiana being
ranked number two in the country is still just I'm looking.

Speaker 1 (30:25):
At owing people out like these games aren't even close
that Indiana's playing and it's it's simply incredible. But we
have seen a ton of coaching changes throughout the college
football season already, and as it's only the third day
of November, I'm sure we will see more. While we're
talking football, there was one big advantage that Brad White
took advantage of during the game, and that was the

(30:46):
fact that Auburn had a seventeen year old center. Shannon
tom Hart joined us on the postgame show. That was
the first thing that he brought up. It seemed like
Kentucky attacked relentlessly against the teenager. You imagine me, it's
seventeen years old and facing an SEC defense like that.
I mean, good job by Brad white to recognize the weakness.
But I'm just trying to put myself in that guy's shoes.

Speaker 3 (31:07):
Right, Yeah, and how did he get there at seventeen?
I guess he graduated high school early and he just
I don't know that story. I don't know how he
got there at some time?

Speaker 1 (31:17):
How young can you be on a football team?

Speaker 3 (31:20):
Well, I mean, I guess if you're big enough, he
can be as young as you want, as long as
you're you're you know, you got your prerequisites in at
high school and you're ready for college.

Speaker 1 (31:27):
Well yeah, Like there's always these young phenoms that go
to college and they've graduated by age fourteen or fifteen? Right,
are you eligible to play sports at that time?

Speaker 4 (31:36):
Too?

Speaker 2 (31:36):
You're asking the wrong person.

Speaker 1 (31:37):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (31:38):
Apparently if you're seventeen, you're good enough to go out
on the isletive line.

Speaker 1 (31:41):
You know, facts are optional here, but let's just say
that's true. Yeah, And like a thirteen year old could
possibly be on an SEC roster.

Speaker 2 (31:48):
I don't know, Like, yeah, not on the line.

Speaker 3 (31:50):
I wouldn't think, But I guess kids kids are bigger
these days.

Speaker 1 (31:54):
Though, maybe he's like really good at catching the ball.
He can go return punts.

Speaker 2 (31:58):
Yeah, but thirteen you get hit by a twenty three
year old man. Fair catch, just fair catch it.

Speaker 1 (32:05):
Every time, every time.

Speaker 3 (32:07):
Now you have a thirteen year old catch and a
guy who's like you know, won't give up college and
keeps coming back, like Diego Pavia, and he's thirty four
years old with two kids and a mortgage, and he's
running over a thirteen year old.

Speaker 2 (32:17):
I feel like that's child abuse.

Speaker 1 (32:18):
We had a Miami tight end that was in his
eighth year of college sports. Why can we not have
a twelve year.

Speaker 3 (32:25):
Old because they're not developed years. You're like, Ryan, you
just want to inflict pain on children.

Speaker 1 (32:31):
No, no, no, no, I mean I'm just setting them
up for their future. I don't know if there's laid
around by people mean, well, man, you're catching punts at
age twelve at the University of Auburn. What are you
doing at sixteen?

Speaker 4 (32:44):
You know?

Speaker 1 (32:44):
I mean, you're just you're getting that kid ready for life.
But I think like the NFL has like an age
minimum things like that. Probably maybe they have that in
college sports too. I know the NBA does, no.

Speaker 3 (32:54):
Well, they certainly don't have an age limiting college. It
seems like maybe as old as you want.

Speaker 1 (32:59):
Well, I mean, and with the Jilligue guys going back
to college sports, you know what's next?

Speaker 2 (33:05):
You know, that's a great question. What is next?

Speaker 1 (33:08):
Because all the rules that we knew are just been
thrown out the window. What if you didn't go to
the NBA? Is your eligibility still intact? Or maybe you've
retired and never played professionally? I don't know. That just
opens up a can of worms. That's why you see
tom Izzo complaining all the time about it. But nevertheless,
we trudge forward. Let's take one more call Shannon before
we take a break. Who do we got?

Speaker 2 (33:27):
Let's go to forty? Hey, forty, what's up?

Speaker 1 (33:29):
Forty?

Speaker 4 (33:31):
Alright, what's up?

Speaker 3 (33:31):
Guys?

Speaker 1 (33:32):
How you talking about ridiculous? Ridiculousness? Earlier?

Speaker 4 (33:35):
That was my favorite show when I was a kid.

Speaker 1 (33:37):
But that show really fell off when she West Coast
left it. Man, By the way, Bailly's rob Deerdeck not
deer Trick or whatever the hell you said was that
they was that the chick with the laugh that was referencing?
Was she the one with the annoying laugh? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (33:52):
Oh yeah, she's hot on her camp?

Speaker 1 (33:57):
Anyway?

Speaker 4 (33:58):
Uh, football behind I ain't been the biggest football guy ever.
But I'm a Kentucky fan.

Speaker 3 (34:04):
I'm glad they won it all.

Speaker 2 (34:05):
But man, I think we've.

Speaker 4 (34:06):
Been better off if they didn't win that way.

Speaker 1 (34:07):
You know, we're gonna have a change next year.

Speaker 3 (34:10):
I don't know, but I mean, if Stoops goes to
a bowl game, do you want to change? I mean,
you still got a guy. We're still Kentucky football. And
if you're going to a bowl. I remember, remember, let's
make with this schedule Bole eligible again.

Speaker 2 (34:21):
Yeah, and with the schedule, nobody gave him a chance
to win more than four.

Speaker 3 (34:25):
If he were to keep winning and we're to get
to six, why would you not want to keep him?

Speaker 1 (34:30):
I mean, yeah, if he did.

Speaker 4 (34:31):
But what's odd that's gonna happen? If that happens to you.
I'm on bowl, but I just don't see it happening.

Speaker 2 (34:35):
Man, We'll see ye. Thanks for the call, forty, appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (34:38):
Thank you, forty. I think there's a lot of people
out there that wanted a loss, and that's just incredible.

Speaker 3 (34:44):
I don't like, I'll never understand that mentality because I mean,
if if he's really that bad, then it's going to
happen eventually anyway, But if you got.

Speaker 2 (34:53):
A chance, and they do still have a chance to
go to a bowl, why.

Speaker 3 (34:55):
Are we trying to run the guy off yet? Let
the season play out. Yeah, we've seen this happen with
Stoops in the past. Just when like you think that
we're ready to fire him, he pulls off some crazy win,
you know, Mississippi State game years ago, Louisville recently.

Speaker 1 (35:11):
You know, it's like, sounds like you're back in.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
I never I never was.

Speaker 1 (35:15):
Oh you never left?

Speaker 3 (35:16):
Did I ever say on this show we need to
fire Mark Stupid? I never left, never left, never lost.
I appreciated I say that. No, other people may have
said that. I never said that yet.

Speaker 1 (35:26):
Never watch that Robin Big That was another MTV show
with our guy Rob.

Speaker 3 (35:30):
No, but I feel like he we have some sort
of tie in with him. I feel like, oh, like
you come to a Kentucky game or a key tweeted
Matt and Matt had some kind of thing back and
forth on Twitter years ago, and that's that's the only
reason I know that that's true.

Speaker 2 (35:45):
Who hasn't So Yeah, anyway.

go to white Castle, round up and help out the nest.

Speaker 1 (37:42):
A five nine two O two two eight seven. We
tried to talk to Judy earlier. She is called back
and hopefully we have a better cell phone connection. Judy,
are you there?

Speaker 3 (37:50):
I'm here all right, So you called back. It's got
to be important for you to call back after your car.

Speaker 2 (37:56):
So what do you have.

Speaker 4 (37:58):
Yes, I.

Speaker 1 (38:02):
Was listening to a show and the psychopaths favorite color
is blue.

Speaker 3 (38:11):
Okay, I think I heard you that time. Psychopaths favorite
color according.

Speaker 2 (38:14):
To who just I was just listening to a talk
show this morning, and that's what they said. It wasn't
on this talk show but not blue. No, it was
a show for.

Speaker 3 (38:30):
Your all show. No, okay, all right, Judy, Well, thanks
for the call, Thanks for calling back and letting us
know the report.

Speaker 2 (38:36):
I mean, I don't think Tom.

Speaker 3 (38:37):
Leech was talking about psychopaths favorite color being blue, which,
by the way, that is my favorite.

Speaker 2 (38:43):
So what does that say about me? I guess I'm
a psychopath.

Speaker 1 (38:45):
Yeah, would not be good for a big blue nation
if that is the case.

Speaker 3 (38:50):
No, speaking of things that aren't true, I also had
somebody write me and try to tell me that Yoshinobu
Yamamoto from the Dodgers is the grandson of Tojo Yamamoto.
If you're a Memphis wrestling fan, you know exactly who
that is. And I don't think that's true either. I
don't think that the Dodgers Yamamoto is the grandson of
Tojo Yamamoto. But again, facts are optional around here.

Speaker 1 (39:13):
That sounds like there's a lot of shows that have
the mantra facts are optional, but maybe so maybe there
are a lot of people that like Blue Shannon. We
got to mention, you know, we had Darren Hedrick on
last week to preview the UK women's basketball season. Well,
they start tonight. It starts at Historic Memorial Coliseum at
six thirty PM against Morehead State. It'll get started on

(39:33):
ninety eight point five the bulll Icons if you're looking
to listen to it, and then right after the Mark
Stoops Show, it will get picked up on six thirty LAP.
So year two for Kenny Brooks, I think they've got
high expectations this year.

Speaker 2 (39:44):
Dude, Yeah, based off what he did last year.

Speaker 3 (39:45):
I mean, he's proven to be a great recruiter, had a,
you know, a really good season last year, and I
think they can build upon that this year. So you know,
for both men's and women's basketball teams, I think they're
both going to be set for a big run coming
up in March.

Speaker 1 (39:59):
I always like Kentucky teams playing in state schools, and
I also like Morehead States roster has no guards, no
forwards or center, shooters, just shooters.

Speaker 3 (40:08):
Yeah, yeah, you know, Vandy did that for the men's
basketball team last year with.

Speaker 1 (40:12):
His positionless mass mark markin.

Speaker 3 (40:14):
Byington, their coach, their new coach came in and just
had everybody as point guard. It wasn't shooter. Every every
guy you know, seven foot three point guard on the roster.
So I guess that nobody. I guess everybody gets the
green light. Then if you're on that WLIT state team.

Speaker 1 (40:29):
You got to be a shooter. To play for Morehead State,
they're gonna space the floor.

Speaker 3 (40:33):
Here's the thing, though, if you're going to be a
coach and call everybody on the team a shooter, you
can't get mad when you're tallest player out there who
can't normally hit a three shoots a three. They're a shooter.
It's right there on the roster. How can you get
mad at her?

Speaker 1 (40:46):
So they're absolved from punishment because the coaches put them
as a shooter on the roster.

Speaker 3 (40:50):
I mean, are you gonna put Brandon Garrison down as
a shooter if you're Martin?

Speaker 1 (40:54):
No, he knows his role. But if you if you
were to call him that on the roster, yeah, then
maybe at least once or twice he can go to
coach and say, hey, what you put me at?

Speaker 2 (41:02):
Exactly? What am I doing? What you want me to
do exactly?

Speaker 1 (41:06):
I like that angle.

Speaker 3 (41:07):
Hey, let me tell you one more time. Promo code
KSR on DraftKings. If you're a new customer, you bet
