Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome everyone. It is the KSR Pre Show. It is Friday,
November fourteenth. We were live in Lexington at the Infinity
Rooftop Restaurant and Bar.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
On top of the Marriotte.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
And you can give us a call on the Clark's
Pumping Shop phone line at eight five to nine two
eight oh twenty two eighty seven. You're a whiskey thief
Call of the day. You can also send us the
text at five O two two six five six six
five six. The KSR Pre Show is being brought to
you by Italics Fine Italian Dinning in Lexington. Shannon of
the Dude Billy Rutledge and what a view we have
up here on this rooftop bar. Billy I told you

(00:32):
yesterday I'm a big fan of rooftop bars. I made
a trip to New York one time and every night
that we went out for drinks it was on a
rooftop bar. It was like, let's just see what kind
of rooftop bar we can find tonight. This is a
really cool rooftop bar that they have here on top
of the Marriotte. Nice view up here. You can see
the city of Lexington. We can't see the guys that
we were talking about that were like sword fighting and

(00:55):
wrestling each other on top of the rooftop at the
inflatable pool. Yeah, that's over here somewhere right, isn't that
close by?

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Yes? I believe that's kind of over that direction. But
this is a really cool spot, some great views up
here on the eighth floor. I've had some important work
meetings here, Shannon, Oh you have, Oh yeah, the business meetings. Yeah,
Michael Jordan back in the day taking me here talking business.
Not that Michael Jordan, don't be impressed. Not twenty three
from you know, Chicago. That's right, Which is you got

(01:22):
to go through life with that name. I'm sure you
get that once or twice. Yeap.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
So if you come by here today, here's what's going on.
You buy an entree, and then at the end of
the show, we're gonna draw for a chance to win
a gift basket which has the Mark Pope autograph basketball
and some Eagle Rare ten year eagle rare hard to
find bourbon that you can win here today. You come in,
you hang out, you'll watch the show, grab a bite
to eat. You could be walking away with that gift basket.
The heck of a prize.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
Yeah it is. I mean Mark Pope signed basketball and
Eagle Rare, so just come on hang out with us,
and you know, a lot of.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
Cool stuff here. We kind of struggled to get here
this morning. Over from Louisville. I got stuck right there
in front of ropp Arena and I'm sitting on what
you're talking about?

Speaker 2 (01:59):
It says a.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Third of a mile fifteen minutes, and I'm going like,
why is traffic not moving? I mean we're right there,
and there's nothing more frustrating than when your destination is
right in front of you but you're stuck in traffic
and you can't go anywhere. Yeah, and then, just to
rub it in my face, a guy and a motorcycle
went right down the middle of both lanes and just
went right on by. And I go, you know what,

(02:20):
that's what I need. I need a motorcycle so when
I'm running late, I can just jump on that thing
and just go right through traffic and get to where
I'm going. Is that actually legal to do that?

Speaker 2 (02:28):
You know? I don't know splitting lanes like that. I
do know you have a vespa, though, Shannon, So why
not put that crate right on the back of your
VESTPA can just weave in and out of traffic.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
The vestment goes at like forty miles an hour at best,
So it would you know, I'd have to leave at
five o'clock.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
In the morning to get here. Yeah, well, I mean
that's that is a drawback. But I'm glad we got
Shannon's traffic report. We normally do on a Friday wherever
we have to drive to.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
So it's gonna be a good show here today. Looking
forward to I got a lot to talk about. I
think we should start yesterday though, the big news, Billy,
and where do you want to start yesterday? I think
Jalen Lowe injuring that shoulder again. You know, Mark Pope
had just given his press conference a few hours earlier
and said that the shoulder was good. It was you know,
everything was looking good and he was recovering from it.

(03:12):
And then we had the report just a couple of
hours later that he re injured that same shoulder that
they had to pop back into plays during the Blue
White game. So now we're back to that again, and
I'm just wondering if this is going to be a recurring,
reoccurring injury that happens throughout the season. I mean, look, tonight,
you play Eastern Illinois. No reason at all to play him.

(03:32):
You know, you're a huge favorite. There's no reason at
all for him to play. I don't think he would anyway.
But you know, a little bit of a concern though,
with Jalen Lowe, our star point guard that we need
that this offense relies on so much dealing with that injury.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
Again, just a little concerned with Kentucky players over these
past few years. It feels like they're a little cursed
right now with all the point guard issues they had
last year. You'd go out and you get a lot
of depth, so you don't have that issue again, and
then Jalen Lowe and this shoulder injury rears its ugly head.
I mean, this is I think worst case scenario. Like
right now, Shannon, you know, I think they're still waiting

(04:06):
for the report on how serious it is and when
he might be able to return. But you know, this
is a guy, a catalyst of the offense. You saw
how important he was in these first couple of games
that he's played. So Aberdeen will be up for the task,
but there will be a drop off. That's why, But
that's why you go out and get depth, and hopefully
this is something that can heal up and he can
be ready for whining important basketball.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
I'll be interested to see if he's gonna be ready
for Michigan State. If not, again, I don't think you've
forced the issue.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
Probably not. Yeah, I mean I know nothing about it,
but I mean it's just does this team feel a
little cursed right now?

Speaker 1 (04:36):
It does? It does a little bit. You know, is
that on us. People are already blaming us, saying it's
the KSR curse. People are telling us to go back
to Seattle to get the sage that we were supposed
to burn that Ryan Lemon dunked into a flower pot
full of water which made it unburnable. Yeah, so yeah,
it does. It does feel like this, Uh, this team
is a little bit curse.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Well, how do you feel like with Jalen Low out? Like,
do you like a vers A team versus Michigan State.
Are you confidence this team has enough talent to win
a game? I mean, yeah, I think they can.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
I mean, obviously you would like to have him, But again,
I don't think that if he's not one hundred percent,
there's no way I think that Pope plays him even
against Michigan State. Again, those are non conference games. The
most important thing is let's get him completely healthy and
ready to go when we get to the SEC schedule.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
But like, I have a list here, Jalen Low, Jaden Quainton's,
Andrew Carr, Kerkrees of Lamont, Butler Jackson Robinson, you got
on Yenzo, DJ Wagner, Trey Mitchell, A do Thiero, Aaron Bradcher,
Oscar she Wiss, CJ Frederick, Kellen, Grady, ty Ty Washington.
That's a whole list of injuries that we've had over
the year. I mean, I it happens, it's part of
the sport. But I mean Kentucky's just been riddled with

(05:38):
these right now, and so you know it's gonna be
up to Mark Pope to coach these guys up.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
I mean, do you think we need like the ankle
doctor back for like guys like Trent Noah who's still
dealing with that which part Noah. Yeah, you didn't have
him on there, you know. By the way, a little
update on him. He, according to Pope, was healthy and
could have played in that Global game, but he wanted
to hold him out just as a precaution, which is
probably probably as.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
We learned, Noah's going to play hell or high water,
right he was Pope was saying he was lying to
the coaching staff to get back on the court. So, yeah,
one of many things that Mark Pope said in that
press conference standing and I want to get into that.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
Yeah, So a couple of things he said. One was
going back to the lobsal game. He said that there
was sort of a bad pre game experience, but he
didn't want to really expand on that. He said he
would tell the story, I guess at some point in
the future. But a question like why even bring that
up to begin with, because when you say the bad
pregame experience, naturally fans are just going to start speculating

(06:36):
as to what it is. I think, you know, like
it's like when somebody's telling you, like I've got some news,
but I can't tell you what it is.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
I hate that, right, because then I start making up
in my mind what I think the news is. So
when I hear that quote from Mark Pope, now I'm wonderinging, like,
was it was it something to do with like Loobal fans?
Was it a lobal you know, player or something or
coach or something. A fight in there? Well, yeah, was
it intern and all between the players?

Speaker 2 (07:01):
Like what was it?

Speaker 1 (07:02):
And and now you know we have that quote which
is sort of I don't know, ominous, And now we've
got to sort of speculate what it is because we
don't know, right, let's it makes your mind wander, right,
it could be anything, and uh it will you know,
we will speculate if he doesn't tell us what it is.
Is this the case of Mark just being too honest? Like,
is that a coach needs to like sometimes withhold some

(07:23):
things Sometimes I think that maybe that's a good thing.
As much as Cali Perry would play it close to
the vest and not really stay a whole lot and
keep things it's just in generalities and and not dig
too deep into what's going on within the team, I
think there is some truth that maybe Mark Pope is
just too open. Mark stoops, it's kind of like that
at times, maybe not as much as Pope is uh huh,
but yeah, I think that sometimes there's information that maybe

(07:46):
you shouldn't put out there because it's just going to
lead to us having this conversation.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
Well, yeah, it's it's the oversharing, right, it's the maybe
the medical student and Mark Pope coming out. And you know,
if you listen to his pregame and postgame stuff, he's
usually really good about breaking things down, telling the fans
what actually happened in the game. This was one maybe
I would have kept closer to my vest here, Shannon,
just because it leads to the speculation that we're talking
about what do you think happened?

Speaker 1 (08:11):
Again, I have no basis, I have no case I
would say that he said bad experience. So I'm just
wondering if maybe there is some like internal team issues.
But again I don't want to say that because then
I'm just starting rumors that maybe have no merit whatsoever.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
Well, like big game, you're on the road, you're hyped
up to play your in state rides.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
Your first true road test. You know, you got you know,
mixed players coming in from the transfer portal.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
Mark Pope talked about body language being an issue before
the Louisville game, so maybe it was like a I
don't know, nervous jitters before the game, Shannon. But like
we said, we're gonna like speculate because we don't know
what it's going on right now. This fan base is
taking it real.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
Well, of course, Yeah, strange quotes to dumb effort, dumb effort.
It was one I've never heard before. Yeah, and then
he also said that here was this direct quote. He says,
it's incredibly massively painful talking about the Louis of loss.
He says, it's haunting. It sits in your gut and
makes you want to vomit in your mouth. Do you
like that quote? I do vomiting because it's true.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
I mean, thinking about that game does make you want
to vomit in your mouth. I didn't hear the word
beautiful in that. So it definitely is a different tone
in the press conference after a loss. And we've heard
Pope just be distraught after these games, and I think
that makes him relatable, right, because he's alike a lot
of fans.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
Yeah, he takes it really hard. I mean that's the
good thing. I hate to keep comparing him to our
other coach, but we're really see the pain in his
like on his face and his voice, Like in these
postgame shows. A lot of times it felt like Caliperi
was just like, well, you know, we have already reiterated
his quotes. I get to go home and hang out
with my dogs and go watch little House in the prairie.
So you know when we said we want our coach

(09:52):
to hurt and Mark Pope, I feel like he gets that.
But you know, there are I think sort of becoming
little things that he may say in press common is
there for the first time, or starting to rub fans
maybe the wrong way at certain times, not in an
over the top way, but just maybe a little bit,
which I think goes back to that conversation that we
were having yesterday. Is the honeymoon period over.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
Well, that's yeah, it's it's kind of like you move
in when you with your significant other and she together
for over a year.

Speaker 1 (10:18):
Everything's cute at first, and then after a year, it's like,
you know, that's kind of getting old.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
Yeah, it's like, you know, you need to flush the toilet,
you need to you know, do these things.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
So she's not flushing the toilet, she needs to go immediately.
I'm not winning a year. I mean like like in
the first year, I'm not just excusing that in the
first year. If she's not flushing the toilet in the
first week. We got to start having a conversation.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
Yeah, addressed that early on. But yeah, you just you
kind of notice, you start to notice those things a
little bit more.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
Sh Yeah, well, speaking of home life, how's the cat?
Do we have a cat? Up de taco?

Speaker 2 (10:46):
It's going a little better. Yeah, when she's eating and
when the dog has her toys around. That's kind of
like when the dog gets a little protective and starts
maybe jumping at the cat a little bit. But things
are getting a little bit better.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
Okay, good, I'm glad to hear that. That cat nip
will help, but it will mellow out the cat.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
Yeah, my house is starting to smell like a litter
box too.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
And see that's another thing. What are you gonna do
about that? It's gonna have your house smell like a
litter box? You walk in like if you invite me
over to your house, which you still haven't done, by
the way, I haven't, but you know, if you do
to see your messy garage, you don't want to see
where I can walk in and you know, look like
a hoarder lives there because you can't get into the garage.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Right, Yeah, you'd have a hoarder garage. And then the
cat you go inside, the dog would not stop barking
at you. And then it smells like cat pee, and
then it smells like a house.

Speaker 1 (11:29):
You got a litter box, man, I bet your landlord
loves you.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
Yes, renting. The bushes are overgrown in the back. It's
just a mess. Well, when you got basketball and football
games to do every night, it's that kind of sits
on the back part. Kentucky is a huge favorite.

Speaker 1 (11:45):
What is the number? I'd haven't even seen the number. Well,
I believe it is thirty eight and a half. It
depends on which you know. There's different betting outlets out there.
Of course, we only talk about DraftKings here, and I
think we're still waiting for the official Draft Kings wants
to come out. But if you're just looking at the
number in Vegas, it's thirty eight and a half right now, Okay, DraftKings,

(12:05):
I would say, would be similar to that when it
comes out.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
That's a lot. Yesterday was a lot, right, I mean,
Mark Pope fit there. It is that quote and then
Jalen Love's hurt. Thirty eight and a half yep, yeah,
I don't know if they can beat it. Forty is
a lot versus any team, even depending how good you are.
But you know this is an important weekend, Shannon, just
not because it's the biggest games, but you want to
keep the momentum going that the football team is built

(12:29):
with Tennessee Tech. Yeah, and basketball, you know you want
to show that you can play a good game before
that Michigan State game on two.

Speaker 1 (12:35):
We'll talk about what we want to see in the
games football and basketball coming up this weekend, and we'll
take your calls eight five, nine and two eight h
twenty two eighty seven at Shannon the Dude, Billy Rutlands
were live on top of the Marriott at the Infinity
of Rooftop Restaurant and Bar. Will take a break, We'll
be right back. It is the ksrpre Show. Welcome back.
It is the KSR pre Show. We're live at Infinity
Rooftop Restaurant and Bar on top of the Marriotte here

(12:57):
in Lexington. You know again, Thanksgiving come up. They got
a Thanksgiving brunch buffet on Thanksgiving Day and if you
want to spend less time in the kitchen, Billy, and
more time with the family, you can enjoy a Thanksgiving
brunch buffet which is going to have smoke turkey, carved salmon,
plenty of side dishes available in six different dessert offerings.
That's eleven am to three pm and details on Infinity

(13:19):
Rooftop Restaurants, Instagram and Facebook. You can reserve your table
now at open Table.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
I completely get that. I mean, sometimes you just don't
want to cook for eight hours for Thanksgiving? Are you
just going to brunch?

Speaker 1 (13:29):
Are you a cook the turkey guy at your house
or do you go to the family and let them
do it all?

Speaker 2 (13:33):
Yeah? I go over to the family's house and we
cook two two turkeys, Shannon. One we put in the
oven and then the other one we put in the
air fryer. I was the deep fryer the one. Did
you know it? Now?

Speaker 1 (13:43):
Did you know? They actually have something called a like
a turkey talk line, which is like a thing for like,
I guess, butterball turkeys. If you don't know what you're doing,
which would be me trying to cook a turkey, there's
a hotline you can call and they'll actually give you
information and tips on how to cook the turkey. Okay,
And you know, I'm just saying like, if you don't know, oh,
I think maybe you shouldn't cook the turkey. I don't
think you want to be calling the turkey talk line

(14:04):
on Thanksgiving going what do I do with this bird?

Speaker 2 (14:06):
Yeah? But what poor soul is waiting on the other
line to talk to Shannon the dude to tell him
how to cook a turkey? I don't know. I mean
there's jobs for that. I mean, they wouldn't have I mean,
they'd have to pay me a lot of money to
do that. I mean that seem sounds like a job
that will get replaced by AI.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
Oh, probably will.

Speaker 2 (14:20):
Probably will.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
I was reading this morning that there's up in Canada
they're trying out there's a startup company that's trying out AI.
Like when you call nine one one, there's an AI
thing that we'll talk to you instead. That that is
a dangerous thing to go on. I think right now
they're trying it out just on non emergency calls. But
can you imagine, I mean, if they're trying it out there,
you know where this is going, Like you read between

(14:41):
the lines, you know, like they're starting with non emergency
and then when they try that out and they find
out that it works soon in the future, you call
nine one one, you're gonna be talking to an AI
thing and then wait till it screws up and somebody
dies because AI is, you know, well messed up.

Speaker 2 (14:55):
That does seem like the natural progression. There are some
places that you can't get an operator on the line,
so that does seem advantageous at times. But when you're
putting that thing in the like the fryer, that does
need a turkey hotline sometimes. I mean people that you
know that oil will come over. Yeah, get on the
fire and then just blow up on people. You've got
to be careful doing that.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
That's why you do not get me anywhere near the
kitchen until it's time to eat on Thanksgiving Day because
I don't want to blow anything up.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (15:20):
Hey, they know us well here at Infinity right. First
of all, you know they have L eight well I
thought it was L eight. It's in an L eight
six pack cardboard like holder for drinks, and they got
diet Cokes, which of course Matt is a is a
big fan of. I feel like Matt now has like
his own rider because when we show up, they got
diet Cokes just ready to go. And I was telling

(15:40):
you during the break like I don't drink cokes at all.
Like yesterday I had the first coke I've probably drink
in six months, just not a coke drinker. Yeah, but
I'm stealing one of Matt's diet cokes right now. That's
you know, that's understandable. Battery acid can only do so
much to your stomach, that's true.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
Yeah, that's true.

Speaker 1 (15:54):
Like when you can pour something on your your battery
and melt away the acid, what does that do unto
your stomach?

Speaker 2 (16:01):
Yeah? And then we know Donald Trump has a button
on his desk where he can get a diet coke
whenever he wants.

Speaker 1 (16:05):
That's right, So maybe something that would like we need
to install one underneath of that table for that remotes.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
Yeah, maybe an easy button.

Speaker 1 (16:11):
Now, I said, they know as well, that's for Matt.
They brought me some some bourbon here, that's right, Yeah,
that's right. And then you, of course, what do you
think they brought me the listener at home, not knowing
what's in front of me. If you guess that Billy
got a mimosa with a nice orange piol on top
of it, you would be correct.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
Well, I do feel like I manifested it. I pointed
out that there's some momosas over their Shane. They're getting
their party started a little bit early. And then they
brought me one right after I said that. So, I
don't know. I love the brand I've created here where
I come to remotes and I get momosa.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
That's not the worst life. That has been your thing.
They bring me bourbon. They bring you mimosas in a
nice little drink. Now that we just leave it at one, right,
that's right, No more after that, it's all good. Hey,
this segment of sponsored by DraftKings, we mentioned Kentucky at
thirty eight thirty eight and a half point favorite to
all right, I still don't think I'm gonna touch that,
which just what the other one felt like it was
high too. But they covered the Was it the second

(17:06):
game that they covered. I think the first one I
don't think they did. I think they covered the second one.
The Valpo don't even remember. But anyway, you can bet
it on DraftKings and it's all there for you, same
game parlays, player props, uh Draftking Sports Book. If you
sign up as a new customer, you bet five dollars.
If your bet hits, they're gonna give you three hundred
dollars in bonus bets and three months of NBA League Pass.
That's a pretty good deal right now for new customers.

(17:27):
Sign up with promo code a KSR and the crown
is yours. If you have a gambling problem called one
end hundred Gambler eighteen plus Kentucky only. Eligibility restrictions applied.
That must win to receive bonus bets, which expire in
seven days. Minimum odds required. NBA League Pass Attle renews
until it canceled. Additional terms a DKNJ dot Co slash
Audio limited time offer. You can give us a call
in the Clark's Pubbing Shop phone line at eighty five

(17:48):
to nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. Who's
up first?

Speaker 2 (17:51):
Rick got Meredith up first? Meredithy MORNI, Hey.

Speaker 3 (17:56):
Good morning you all. Well, I wanted to call not
really to talk about the wildcats, but about kitty cats
because I'm a cat mom and I hear that Billy
is struggling with the litter box situation.

Speaker 1 (18:07):
Yeah, Billy needs all the help that he can get.
Any If you.

Speaker 3 (18:10):
Have some tips, you can do unsolicited advice. But okay,
there's a litter box system called the Breeze system Beaz
and Boy Breeze system, and I like it better than
just regular old litter. It's got pellets and then underneath
is a peapad that you change out, which is not fun,

(18:30):
but litter boxes are.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
Just not fun.

Speaker 3 (18:33):
But I think it helps with the smell a little bit.
So I just wanted to make a suggestion that, you know,
maybe you could try it out and see.

Speaker 2 (18:41):
So there you go, breeze system with a pea pad underneath.
I did not know what I was signing up for.
I had no idea. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (18:48):
Yeah, the pellets like absorb some of the odor.

Speaker 1 (18:54):
Yeah, it's it's doesn't everybody have a cat? Yeah, there
you go, Billy, there's some good advice for Meredith.

Speaker 3 (19:03):
Kind of the worst part. Yeah, it's the worst part
of having a kitty cat. But thank you for adopting
and saving a little cat flight. That's good, Billy.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
There you go. Well, all right, Meredith, that's what it's
all about.

Speaker 1 (19:14):
Thanks for the call of Meredith. I appreciate it. Now,
are you gonna take Meredith's advice and go out and
get a peepad underneath your.

Speaker 2 (19:23):
Of the box? Well, you know, to this point, I've
kind of defaulted to the fiance to take care of
the cat. I've got the dog. I'm working on that,
and she's taking care of the cat. But I may
have to step in and give her something of this advice.
What I'm hearing right now is an opportunity for you.
You need to think like I think, Okay, you got
the cat. Now turn that into like endorsements, so you
can get, like for Breeze endorsement. You could get like

(19:44):
an adoption clinic. You hear this Brandon adoption clinic endorsement.
That's smart.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
Yeah, litter box, there you go. The possibilities are.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
This is Shannon the Dude's brain. I mean, it's like,
how can I make a buck out of this cat?
You get to turn it into body smell in my house?
Right now?

Speaker 1 (19:59):
The BB is it the United BBN Classic presented by
Kentucky Tourism?

Speaker 2 (20:04):
Is that right? Is that what we call it? It's
close enough. I think you got it as long as
you say Kentucky Tourism at the end. Okay.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
So that's a seven o'clock tip off tonight. It is
another streaming game, right, It's another ESPN Plus game. So
this is the last game. I guess of that round robin.
We've already got the tournament. This is it right here,
although I don't think Eastern Illan know. I don't know
if they won a game this year, So regardless of
what it is, this is the last team that we
play in this classic. Where are we at with this

(20:31):
YouTube TV ESPN? Just like it's still going on right
This is the longest dispute between like ESPN and a
cable company that I can remember in a long time.
You're gonna have to go, I guess on YouTube dot
com again and get the Islam feed of the game
tonight because I think we got the other guys shut down.

Speaker 2 (20:48):
I think you went a long way to get the
guy they shut down. I mean, I don't know, you
know if his livelihood is impacted at this point, but
you know he was getting tips from people like Ryan Lemon.
So I mean, you got to think it is YouTube
TV and Disney. I've seen conflicting reports. It looks like
the price of ABC is the hold up right now.
Also now we're throwing ABC into the whole thing. Well, yeah,

(21:09):
they're under the Disney, right, So they've agreed upon a
price for ESPN, I believe, But it's ABC, which is
the sticking point. But like I kind of relate to
YouTube TV here just because you know, Disney is wanting
to push people towards their APPA and things like that,
you know. But dudes, I mean, dudes, we are the
victim in these mega billionaires and companies that have way

(21:31):
too much money to know what to do with fighting
over squabbling over dollars.

Speaker 1 (21:34):
That's when you have to make the decision as a
customer or are you willing to put up with that?
The two sides arguing. I mean, they're like I said,
there's other ways to find these games. By the way,
I was just looking around. It's not just Kentucky games
that's on YouTube. I was trying to find the Eastern
Kentucky Vandy game the other night, and I was like
looking all over the box, couldn't find it.

Speaker 2 (21:50):
Just went to YouTube.

Speaker 1 (21:51):
There it was the same Islamic font that was on
the bottom of the screen for the Kentucky game was
there for that one as well. So I guess they're
streaming like all kinds of college basketball game.

Speaker 2 (22:02):
Well, they're loving the dispute, right, like they saw their
viewership maybe double or triple at this point. So and
I guess we'll we'll fire it up again tonight if
we want to watch the.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
Game eight nine two eight h twenty two eighty seven.
We'll load the lines up, we'll take your calls. We'll
talk a little Kentucky football. They've got Tennessee Tech tomorrow
and we'll get into that and a whole lot more.
We're live at Infinity Rooftop Restaurant and Bar on top
of the Marriotte here in Lexington, and we'll be right back.
It is the ksrpre Show. All right, welcome back. It
is the KSR Pre Show. Shitton, the Dude, Billy Rutlitz.

(22:30):
We're live in Lexington at Infinity Rooftop Restaurant and Bar.
Come by today here by an entree and then you're
gonna get in the running to win the Mark Pope
signed basketball and the Eagle Rare bourbon here as well.
So stuff, Yeah, you can do that here today. We're
gonna be here till noon. If you're looking for a
venue to host your holiday parties, corporate meetings, dream weddings,
you get a wedding coming up downtown, Marriott Center has

(22:52):
got you covered and you can give them a call at
eight five nine, two pouts three one thousand to book
your visit and find out for yourself.

Speaker 2 (22:58):
So we had a corporate meeting here with a bunch
of the sales staff. We even had some national people
fly in, and uh, we kind of forgot about it,
the KSR guys and so like there when Drew and
I were walking out for the football show afterwards, they're like, oh,
you're going to the meeting, right, You're coming up to
the bar. And We're like, of course, yeah, we're coming
to the bar. We were dressed up in all of

(23:19):
our NFL gear, Shannon. So we come up here and
everybody's in shirt and tie and they're talking professional and
they're meet and greet and I'm in like Tampa Bay
Bucks sweatshirts and sweatpants and I've got a hat on,
completely underdressed for the moment. But when you come to
a place like this, I mean, it was still a
lot of fun.

Speaker 1 (23:35):
Speaking of the Bucks, You're going to the Tampa Bay
Buffalo game this weekend, right getting in the car with
Matt and Drew. That's right, your first ever. This is
kind of like your initiation really for for KSR. You
get to go on your first first road trip with
Matt and U. Ryan and I are going to stay
back to hold the four down. But you guys, you, Mario, Drew,
and Matt are going to be going up to Buffalo,

(23:56):
which is only like I think, what seven and a
half hours.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
It's like eight, it's like eight or nine. We did
get credentialed for the game, Shannon, so that's gonna be
a lot of fun going to an NFL game and
going into the locker room afterwards. We're gonna ask the
NFL player some questions too, So you're right, though, initiation
for KSR is one of these road trips and I
have not been on one in eight years.

Speaker 1 (24:16):
If we're gonna truly initiate you into a KSR road trip,
we've got to make sure you get an Airbnb and
you have to sleep on the princess bed like that.
You know, there's always like a little bitty kid's bed. Yeah,
we always have to fight for who doesn't have to
sleep on that. So I feel like it's your first trip,
you got to get the little kids bed. Even if
there's like an open like bigger bed, I have to sleep.
You have to sleep on regardless, it doesn't matter okay,

(24:37):
because see he'll book like a an Airbnb for like
three rooms the four of you. Well, somebody's got to
get the I'm getting off easy here. I mean we're
just going to Buffalo. Oh no, no, no, we could
have been going to Utah or like la. Trust me, dude, Like,
you're not gonna go straight to Buffalo. You're gonna go
like probably up to like Montreal, ya, then over to

(24:58):
Toronto and then maybe down to to Buffalo.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
Out. He did mention Canada several times how disappointed he
was that I don't have my passport so we can't
cross the board.

Speaker 1 (25:06):
See, you saved yourself right there. You're kind of smart
in not having the passport. That way you have an
excuse to not go. Or maybe he just drops you
off at the border and picks you up on the way.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
Well, I've told him he's had issues at the Canadian border.

Speaker 1 (25:16):
Yes, so he needs to be careful. Yeah, Tonight Eastern
Illinois comes to town. They've got a guard mee Chi White,
who is a lifelong Kentucky fan, actually a Kentucky sports
radio listener. There's a picture of him when he was
younger with Matt. I don't know if that was at
the KOs Bar, Aware but regardless, kind of cool that
we got a lifelong Kentucky player and guy from Louisville

(25:39):
who is on the Eastern Illinois team who will be
playing tonight.

Speaker 2 (25:42):
Rouugh. Yeah, him in the pictures of the UK gear
in with Matt are really cool. I think his mom
sent that in to whoever did the story on KSR.
Got to be a cool moment for him, right, being
a fan growing up and then playing Rupp Arena. Like,
that's something I think that's lost on some people, is
that when the road team comes in, that's a moment
they'll never forget, is playing in an arena like Rupp Arena. Yeah.

(26:02):
It's also a reminder that you know, Matt and we've
been doing this for a while, right, dude. I get
reminded all the time.

Speaker 1 (26:08):
I mean, I remember a little Dawson who used to
call in, and I don't know what his age was then,
but he was a little kid, like his boys hadn't
even started cracking yet, that's how young he was. And
now he's like a grown man in college and I
think he's like he's working in media or doing like
a I don't know if he's like a sports reporter
or what. But yeah, I mean, you start getting these
calls going, I used to listen to you when I

(26:30):
was a kid. I go, wait a minute, we have
been doing it that long. Then you start thinking about it, like, yeah,
actually we have. You know, grew up listening to Shannon
the Dude on the rock stations and CHASR. And now
now I'm thirty years old, I've got two kids in
a mortgage, and I'm like, man.

Speaker 2 (26:43):
Exactly, yeah, I feel old. So I'll be rooting for
him tonight.

Speaker 1 (26:46):
Right. Well yeah, well, I mean, yeah, I mean I
think that Eastern Illinois is not a threat to be.

Speaker 2 (26:51):
What I mean, it's like, you know, you hope that
somebody has success.

Speaker 1 (26:54):
Sure, I mean, I think it's kind of cool that
we have a listener, old listener that who could be
listening right now. Oh you know, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
Probably, yeah, he probably is.

Speaker 1 (27:02):
Kentucky football we haven't talked about them yet. They've got
a game tomorrow against Tennessee Tech. They are I believe,
a three touchdown favorite in the game tomorrow. But the
takeaway for me was their head coach Bobby Wilder, who
said in his press conference that he doesn't even want
to play this game. I think his direct quote was,

(27:23):
I'm pissed that we have to play this game. I
didn't realize this, but I guess another coach, the previous
coach is the one who actually set up this game
with Kentucky Tennessee Tech's coming in. They're ten and zero,
you know, and now they've got to play an SCC's goal,
which is going to probably hope so at least, but
they're one blemish on their record this year. But their
coach said that he would be rather playing an inconference

(27:46):
game for them instead of having to play Kentucky. So
that was sort of a strange quote I thought too,
in a day of strange quotes.

Speaker 2 (27:51):
Yeah, and I wish I had a tough take on this.
I kind of see both sides of it. I mean, one,
you're undefeated and now you have to play the toughest
team on your schedule, right, But is it not a
loser mentality to not want to take on the challenge
of an SEC team Like Yeah, I.

Speaker 1 (28:05):
Mean I would think you would like that opportunity, right.

Speaker 2 (28:07):
You can better yourself, better your team by playing a
better opponent. Yeah, I just you know, you go out
there and publicly make those comments. I don't know if
I mean, is that going to fire up the team
if the coach says he doesn't want to play the
game before that start.

Speaker 1 (28:18):
No, Because if the coach doesn't want to play the game,
how can you expect your team to play.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
I mean, I think you go into the game now
thinking that you're going to lose. I mean before you're
an undefeated FCS team against a Kentucky team that has
struggled this year. Why not feed that positivity and energy
into your team instead of bitching on the press conference
about it? Like it just doesn't make a lot of sense,
and that's why that coach is going to stay at
the FCS level.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
You might be right about that. Tennessee Tech averages thirty
four points a game. Again, it's against you know, lesser
opponents than Kentucky has played all year, So I mean,
I don't think that that should worry you at all.

Speaker 2 (28:52):
But how do you.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
Feel about this game? I mean, I think Kentucky wins easily.

Speaker 2 (28:55):
Is there a world where it's like much closer at
halftime than we want it to be? If there is,
I mean, they've struggled with like Southern.

Speaker 1 (29:04):
Miss Here's the thing, I think Kentucky football has turned
the corner. We beat Auburn, we beat Florida, we kicked
their butt thirty eight to seven. There's no way they
come out and it's close against Tennessee Tech at any
point other than the first five minutes of the game.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
I'm with you. And even if they have struggled against
teams like Southern Missing the past, this is a different
level of bad like this is FCS. So, I mean,
while they are undefeated, and I'm sure a team that
knows how to win, your talent level should just completely
dwarf that, right, especially in like the offense and defensive lines, Like,
I don't want this game to be close at all
because it's just going to be completely type of player
that Kentucky.

Speaker 1 (29:36):
Kentucky only schedules this game just to be able to
get a win and get one closer, one step closer
to a bowl game. Right, that's the only reason you
scheduled this game. But if you lose, I agree with
Drew said yesterday. You'll lose, you got to fire the
entire coaching staff. Like I don't even think there's you
said is they're a world where it's close. No, I
don't think there is. I definitely don't think there's a
world where Kentucky loses this game to Ball.

Speaker 2 (29:55):
I think there's a world where it's close.

Speaker 1 (29:56):
You do, yeah, oh yeah, okay, but like close, like
at halftime or closed in the fourth, I.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
Mean going into the fourth. I mean it would two
possession game. I mean, who knows, I think you could
call that close with them driving. Also, Tennessee Tech schedules
this game so they can make money. Sure, I mean
a lot of these are by games to fund the
entire athletic department. So when the football coach comes out
and says, well, I didn't schedule this and we shouldn't
be playing this game, you can think about the university too.
It's it's that Kurt Signetti approach that you cancel all

(30:25):
your medium tough games and take on all the easy
opponents just so you can have a better win total.

Speaker 1 (30:30):
Right, So, as far as the game tomorrow, what is
the thing that you need to see? Is it just
win the game or is it dominate them, beat them
by two or three touchdowns before you you feel better
about that.

Speaker 2 (30:39):
I just win, you just win, win, and move on.
I would love to see bush hand and continue this
hot streak of play calling for him. I mean, I
know that he only scored ten points in the Auburn game,
but that would much better called game, I think than
in some previous years or previous games. Yeah, they scored
thirty eight against Florida over it was over or under
tomorrow thirty eight against Tennessee Tech over over over, babe.

(31:02):
Like you said, this team has momentum. They've turned a
corner beating Auburn in Florida. If Stoops is going to
keep his job and we're going to buy back in
for another year, then take care of business.

Speaker 1 (31:10):
They win this game tomorrow. That's a three game win
streak as far as I'll see it. Stoops is hot.
He went from the hot seat to being hot three
straight for Kentucky and that's five right on the season.
And then look, man, I mean, Vandy's gonna be tough,
lobll is gonna be tough. But is it crazy to
think that you could beat one of those teams. We've
seen it in the past. We've seen in years past
where we thought that, you know, Kentucky would most likely

(31:32):
lose the level. They come in and Mark Stoops beats Lobell,
and you know that he's gonna have that chip on
his shoulder having to play against his old friend his
front still, I would think, but his old you know,
coach Vince Merrill.

Speaker 2 (31:42):
Yeah, you know, I don't really see this game as
a trap game, Shanon. It is an FCS opponent late
in the year, but this is an undefeated FCS team.
And when you've had these, uh you know, moments throughout
the year where you think your coach might be fired,
you had to go to your second string quarterback, you know,
the adversity, You're not gonna take anything for grant. So
I don't think that they're going to overlook this team
looking towards Vandir.

Speaker 1 (32:03):
It is just crazy, though, to look back just a
couple of weeks ago and think that this team was
down and out and had no chance of going to
a bowl game, and then here comes Mark Stewp's rallying
you know, beats Auburn dominates Florida last week.

Speaker 2 (32:15):
I was watching that.

Speaker 1 (32:16):
I was at that game, watching that game, going, I
don't really believe what I'm seeing right now. Like I
thought that they would beat Florida, but I thought it
was gonna be like a twenty to seventeen game and
them coming out and just I mean dog walking Florida
was pretty impressive. I mean, it came out of nowhere.
It was a big It was the surprise of the
year for me.

Speaker 2 (32:32):
You know, we talked a lot about Kentucky basketball, how
they didn't quit versus Louisville when they got down twenty. Well,
you've got to give a lot of credit to this
Kentucky football team for not quitting, for this coaching staff
to not lose the locker room. It could have been
really easy for Lineman to start going to concession stands
during the game during for this season, and they held together.
And Mark Stoops has credited this bunch, this group a

(32:52):
lot about you know, just kind of getting back to
work mantra, even though we roll our eyes when we
hear that saying.

Speaker 1 (32:57):
And I don't think we can give enough credit to
Brad White, you know, I mean, keeping the gas pushed
down when you're up thirty eight to seven, still not
giving up anything defensively, and the last couple of weeks
have been great.

Speaker 2 (33:07):
Well, after that Tennessee game, it was like, what are
we gonna do? Like, are we going to sign up
for this again, it was a Brad White legacy game possibly,
but this guy has given great defense. It's really the
identity of Kentucky under the Mark Stoops era. Right, Stoop's
a defensive coach. Brad White is a guy that could
be coaching in the NFL if he wanted to. So look,
I mean they get to six wins, are we we're

(33:28):
just doing this over again, right, They're keeping the coaching
staff absolutely. Tomorrow is a big step towards that. Tell
me about Stretch Lab, Yeah, Stretch Lab is a boutique
fitness franchise that can do one on one assisted stretching.
It's been something that I've been going to over the
last couple months. I hadn't gone over like over two
weeks before I went like this past Wednesday, Shannon was

(33:48):
it was a big relief. Do we able to relieve
some of my back pain? Improve my posture? It does
a lot of things for me, not only physically, but
mentally as well. And if you use the promo code
Bogies with Billy, when you go into the Lexington or
the fort Right store, you can get a fifty minute
stretch for just forty nine dollars. You learn a lot
about yourself, how flexible you are. They give you an
administer a test and they say, don't be embarrassed by

(34:10):
your numbers here because most people aren't very good at
doing a squat, Shannon, so they you evaluate you doing
a squat, they know what to work on. And ultimately, Shannon,
I've seen my quality of life go up a lot.
So if you're a pick a ball player, a golfer,
maybe you're a youth sport athlete just wants to recover better,
check out Stretch Lab and tell them, Billy saying.

Speaker 1 (34:30):
And wait till you get into your forties. Then you'll
really need it.

Speaker 2 (34:32):
Please, I'm not getting back. It's not dollar ever.

Speaker 1 (34:36):
We mean you're not gonna well. I mean, look, getting
to forty. It beats the alternative. I used to say
the same thing about thirty.

Speaker 2 (34:42):
And now I'm here.

Speaker 1 (34:43):
Hey, you can come out here to the Infinity rooftop
and restaurant bar where we're at right now, experience and
elevated lunch and dinner menu and handcraft at cocktails. Billy's
got one of those right now, and get the best
view of downtown Lexington and sky high vibes here at
Infinity we're gonna take a break. We'll be ready back
for our final segment. We'll take more your phone calls.
It is the Ksrpreciow.

Speaker 2 (35:02):
Welcome Back.

Speaker 1 (35:02):
It is the final segment of the KSR pre Show.
We're live and Infinity Rooftop located up here on the
eighth floor of the Marriotte City Center. Really cool place
to come up here and grab a drink, grab an entree,
get a good city view. If you grab an entree today,
you're gonna get in the drawing to win the Mark
Pope autograph basketball and some Eagle Rear bourbon too.

Speaker 2 (35:21):
I've had some Eagle Rare that is really good stuff,
So definitely come out and get into the drawing for that.
I need to ask you a question, though, what's up? Uh?
You came here today and you had two wallets, Shannon,
and I need to know what's in your second wallet? Like,
do you have just so much money at this point
that you've had to bring two wallets? Now?

Speaker 1 (35:39):
Well, okay, so I've got the Clayton and Groom wallet right, Yeah,
which is I try to keep like a thin wallet
which has like my ID, my credit card, that type
of stuff. Okay, the second wallet is for like all
the other stuff that I kind of need to have
with me in my car, Okay, like you know, some
banking stuff. I guess I don't even I'd have to

(35:59):
pull it out and see what is even in there.
Probably a bunch of junk, to be honest with you.
But it's like my George Costanzo wallet, you know, it's
like the big fat wallet that it's like a basically
my version of a person. Look, this is the one
that I don't put in my back pocket right here?
That would raise you as Let's just go through my
wallet and find out what I got in here?

Speaker 2 (36:18):
All right? Why not? All right?

Speaker 1 (36:19):
I got my HSA card in there. See I don't
want that in my actual wallet because I don't need
that all the time. I put it in the backup
Walllet that's right.

Speaker 2 (36:25):
What else do I have? Oh?

Speaker 1 (36:26):
This is my my card to actually get into the
Lexington building, which I never use.

Speaker 2 (36:30):
You never come here.

Speaker 1 (36:31):
I've got a U what is this? A home Depot
card which I never used.

Speaker 2 (36:34):
Home Depot credit card?

Speaker 1 (36:35):
Is that I've got a twenty dollars card to a
tap house in Wexington?

Speaker 2 (36:40):
Nice? Oh?

Speaker 1 (36:41):
Look at this my old clear channel ID card. Wow,
I can't even use that anymore. So I don't even
know how I have that a nostalgia. I've got my
insurance cards in there. Uh oh, a Metro card from
New York City in case I ever come back to
New York City. I got my Metro card here.

Speaker 2 (36:56):
Yeah, you're kind of like me hoarding stuff.

Speaker 1 (36:58):
In the but in your wallet, I don't even know
why I have this stuff. Like, here's a really old card.
I don't even know what this is for. Oh, that's
my Low's card. So when you're a homeowner, you got
to go to Lows and Home Depot every Saturday morning.
You got to have your cards. But I don't want
to carry that stuff around Monday through Friday. So I
have the second wallet.

Speaker 2 (37:14):
Okay, So do you put like one on each cheek
into your pants and then just like sitting down, how
do you do?

Speaker 1 (37:19):
Yeah, I've got one that stays in my pocket and
one that just kind of stays in the car. And
then when I need that extra stuff that I don't
want to be, you know, just like you know, taking
it all over the place when I'm just doing my
regular everyday routine, then I go to this wallet.

Speaker 2 (37:34):
I got like eight dollars in cash in there too.
I think like maybe twenty five.

Speaker 1 (37:37):
Okay, you got a little bit more, so I'll buy
you a drink later on if you want a second mimosa.

Speaker 2 (37:41):
Well, people listening, that is a stands a wallet. I
mean that thing would take you off the ground.

Speaker 1 (37:45):
You should see it when it actually has money in it.
You were telling me during the break already that Marissa
is wanting a second cat. Yeah, and I mean we
we're just now getting the first cat. And I'm going
to go ahead and tell you that within six months,
I guarantee you this guy has a second cat in
his house.

Speaker 2 (38:00):
Would you like to make a wager, Shannon, I would,
because I am holding the line we are not gonna You're.

Speaker 1 (38:04):
Finally gonna wait. You're telling me that you're finally going
to put your foot down because you let her determine
what the thermostat's on in your house. You let her
get the cat that she wanted that you didn't want
to begin with. Uh huh, she h has to go
in and kick people out of the movie theater seats
that you guys reserve because you won't do it. That
was one time, and now you're telling me that you're
gonna put your foot down for the second cat. I'm

(38:26):
telling you you're gonna have You're gonna have a like
an adoption clinic in your house if you don't watch out.

Speaker 2 (38:31):
Yeah no, that's uh that that is me to a
t uh. But you know what, Shannon, I'm okay with
these things. It's not like that. You know. I held
the line for a cat for about five years and
then we eventually let it happen. I'm not letting a
second cat happen. Here, happy wife, happy life show. There
you go. You can learn a lot from that. I mean,
just sometimes giving in and letting them do what they want. Now,
the litter box situation we've got to fix. Okay, that's

(38:52):
non negotiable. Well, I mean, Meredith tried to help you
out with that. I think you got a good suggestion.
So maybe you go with that now. Uh, Taco is
the name of your cat? Said something also during the
break to me that. I was like, I don't I
don't know what that means.

Speaker 1 (39:03):
You said to me, do you dominate the talk you
dominate the taco, taco dominate or does the taco dominate you?
So I said, I have no idea what that even means,
so you'll have to explain.

Speaker 2 (39:13):
What that is. Cam Skataboo, the running back for the Giants,
is Hurt and so he's been doing some streaming Shannon,
and during one of his latest streams, he asked the
important question do you let the taco dominate you? Or
do you dominate the taco? Which pretty much means do
you turn your head when you're eating a taco or
do you turn the taco? So, Shannon, let me ask you,

(39:33):
are you dominated by the taco or do you dominate
the taco?

Speaker 1 (39:38):
I dominate the taco. Yeah, I don't turn my head.
I just take the taco, turn it and eat it. Okay, Yeah,
what about you?

Speaker 2 (39:44):
I probably do both. Honest, you do both.

Speaker 1 (39:46):
Yeah, you're both the dominatrix and a submissions submissions to
the taco.

Speaker 2 (39:51):
Well, you'd think the taco would dominate me for how
this segment's going right now, Shannon, But you know what,
I think it's a little bit of both. But Cam Skataboo,
you know, I mean, well, would you say Plato, I mean,
you know some of these great thinkers, Yeah, asking the
important questions here, there's.

Speaker 1 (40:07):
We could call you know, gullible billy all the time,
just lovingly joking with you. But I don't want you
to get scammed by this. Did you see this in
Hardin County there's a phone scam going around and people
are actually falling for this, believe it or not. Where
somebody calls up. Let's say they call you up, they've
done some research to kind of know like names of
like close relatives and stuff of you, and they say

(40:28):
to you, like, let's say, let's just use.

Speaker 2 (40:29):
Your fiance for example. Let's say she's not with you.

Speaker 1 (40:32):
Marissa is in jail in the Hardin County Correctional Facility,
and due to overcrowding, we will let her out if
you will pay us fifty dollars. Now, that sounds like
a scam right off the bat, Like nobody would fall
for that, right, That sounds like the stupidest thing nobody
would fall for. Apparently people are actually falling for this,
and scammers are preying on people who think that they
have somebody in jail that they're gonna let out for

(40:54):
fifty bucks because it's overcrowded. As ridiculous as it sounds,
people that fall in for more dumb than that.

Speaker 2 (41:00):
Yeah, you got you gotta that doesn't pass the sniff test.
Only fifty bucks or fifty bucks get your significant other
out of jail. One I'd be like, hey, I'm just
gonna come down there. Yeah. But you know, there's a
lot of the older community to get these calls and
don't think of it like that. They just want to
help their loved ones. So it's despicable. I hate to
see that. They There are a lot of those scams,

(41:21):
a lot of them. You gotta be careful.

Speaker 1 (41:23):
I mean, look, also, George Cloney writes you on Facebook
Messenger and says that he needs ten thousand dollars.

Speaker 2 (41:27):
It's not really helped too. You know. I figured George
would eventually reach out to Billy Rsports. I just didn't
know he needed so much money when he was gonna reach.

Speaker 1 (41:33):
