Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome everyone.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
It is the KSR Pre Show Thursday, December eighteenth, one
week away from Christmas. You can give us a call
in the Clark's Pupping Shop phone line eight five nine
two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. If you're a
whiskey thief, Call of the day. The text line is
not with me, so don't even bother because I don't
have it. Instead, you can tweet me at Shannon of

(00:22):
the Dude if you want to write me and you
can't call in. And the KSR pre Show is being
brought to you by Italics. Find Italian Donning in Lexington.
The text line is not with me, it's with Billy.
Billy keeps track of all that, and Billy is not
here today because Billy has jury duty. So instead we're
bringing in Mario Maitland as our pinch hitter today for Billy.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
He's over in Lexington. What's going on? Mario? How are you?

Speaker 3 (00:45):
What's up?

Speaker 4 (00:46):
My men?

Speaker 5 (00:46):
Shannon Man, it always always fun to have to do
this thing with you. Man, I'm excited. I'm excited. I
don't know if you didn't know. I couldn't sleep last night.
I was thinking about this the whole time.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
I got one hour.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
I'm so excited to do a show with me. You sleep.

Speaker 5 (01:01):
I got one hour of sleep last night. I was
tossing and turning, and then I looked at my phone.
It was six o'clock, and I was like, man, I
should just stay up, that's what I should do. I
don't know, I don't know what it was. Maybe it
was you know, me excited to do this thing with you.
I honestly don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
I mean, you've done the show with me before, Like
it's like, you know, you've never done this before.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Are you like that other shows that could do with me?
I'm not okay, you're just your ready to go today.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
I guess it was just today.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Yeah, yeah, Well I don't know what your afternoon was
like yesterday. But I'll tell you the last couple of
days I've spent I spent some time wrapping Christmas gifts.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
I don't know, like, have you already done all your
Christmas shopping?

Speaker 5 (01:40):
I shopped a little bit, but I haven't. I haven't wrapped.
I'm getting like the presence in the mail and stuff
like that. I haven't wrapped a single thing though.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
All right, Well, listen to this is what I do.
And I told Billy this last year, and I still
do it. I've still been doing it this year too.
You know, I got ordered a lot of stuff online
and it comes in through Amazon, and it comes in
a box, and I'm going, well, the thing's already in
a box. Why would I take what I bought out
of the box. It's it's already wrapped up, it's taped

(02:07):
up and everything. Why would I take that out of
the box and put it in another box? So I
just I just take it straight from the the front
porch and just put wrapping paper on it and just
go there you go. So like, if the order is wrong,
then you know, we can all be surprised on Christmas
morning because I haven't even opened the box to see
what's in there.

Speaker 5 (02:23):
Honestly, man, I agree with you, man, Why why wrap
it if it's gonna be like you know, just give
them the box. It's already wrapped. It just doesn't have
the fancy wrapping paper on it. I don't blame you
on that.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
See, I mean I know what it is, right, Like,
I order one thing at a time and it says
on there where it's from. I know, I know who
it goes to. I'm not gonna like open it up
and see. Okay, is this the right size this? Yeah,
because if it's wrong, it's wrong. You know, it's like, well,
it's already in the box. Now here's the here's the
other problem. I cannot wrap. I can't rap in music.

(02:57):
I can't wrap. When it comes to gifts. It looks
like a third grader wrapping my Christmas gifts. But I
think it's the thought that counts, right, It's better than
just putting it in.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
A bag and some thought.

Speaker 5 (03:09):
I can teach you how to rap if you want
me to. I'm not I'm not a great rapper, but
I can rap a little.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Bit, all right, all right, Well, I mean how do
you learn you just know how to do it?

Speaker 1 (03:17):
Did you go on YouTube and like get YouTube? Okay,
okay YouTube.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
Yeah, it's not as bad as you think it is.

Speaker 5 (03:22):
Okay, one of these days when i'm when i'm whenever
i'm in Louisville, I'll you know, we'll stop by at
the studio and then, you know, teach you how to rap.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Well, it needs to be tomorrow because tomorrow is my
last day. After tomorrow, I'm done for the rest of
the year. I won't see you until.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
Like, are you going on vacation?

Speaker 1 (03:35):
I'm done? Yeah, I mean where are you headed to?
I'm staying here for part of it and then part
of it I'm going to Florida.

Speaker 3 (03:43):
Okay, So you know, like, what should I do with
your Christmas gift? Should I? Just should I because I'm
not going to see you.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
Wait wait, you got me a Christmas gift.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
Of course I got your Christmas gifts.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Well, now I still like a jerk because I didn't
get you anything.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
Of course you didn't.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Of course you know I didn't know we were exchanging gifts.

Speaker 5 (03:59):
Now expecting you to get me a Christmas Honestly, all
the people out the crew, I said, Shandon's definitely not
going to get me.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
Look, man, now you put the pressure on me because
I thought that I was actually done with my Christmas shopping. Normally,
I'm the guy who is on Christmas Eve trying to
find last minute Christmas gifts, and of course nothing's open,
so I end up doing my Christmas shopping at a
gas station.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
Everybody gets scratch offs and Marlboro Reds.

Speaker 5 (04:22):
I'm not I'm not surprised you showed up your pot.
You showed up to a pot up a can of
green beans.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Shannon.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
I thought that I was good this year. I've done
all my Christmas shopping, or at least so I thought.
Now you're telling me you got me something. Now I
feel obligated.

Speaker 5 (04:37):
And I'll just return it. It's fine, I'll return the
Christmas gifts.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
If you're going to return it, you go at least
tell me what it is.

Speaker 5 (04:44):
No, you know that's that's not how it works. All right, Well,
it's getting returned. It's getting returned now. Now we're now,
you have nothing to worry about. You don't have to
get me in.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
No, no, no, no, no no. I kind of want it now.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
So now I don't know what do I get, Mario,
I don't even know, like, what do you need?

Speaker 3 (04:59):
What do I need?

Speaker 4 (05:00):
Eat?

Speaker 3 (05:00):
I'm big on clothes, but I'm.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
Really I'm not buying you clothes. I'm not buying you underwear.

Speaker 5 (05:04):
I'm picky on clothes, so I don wouldn't recommend clothes.
But I don't want any food because I feel like
you just get me something out of your pants or that.

Speaker 3 (05:11):
Yeah, I don't want no food.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
Giving you food, not feed the children.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
Gift cards. Gift cards.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
Gift cards are always that's a good cop out. Gift
cards are always good.

Speaker 3 (05:21):
What's your favorite Christmas gift? Like, like, what do you
like to get?

Speaker 5 (05:24):
I'm big on gift cards because like I can I
get it and then I can pick whatever I want,
whether it's a food place or a retail store.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
That's kind of my thing.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Well, here's the problem, Like anything that I need is
not cheap. Like stuff that I actually need is like
a thousand dollars and I'm not asking anybody to go
out and get me a.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
Christmas gift for a thousand bucks.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
Sounds like that's what you want, Like you.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
Know what I mean. That's the problem.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
Like, Okay, I could use, you know, some new tires
on my jeep, but I'm not gonna go ask somebody
to go buy me tires for my jeep. That's like
I said, that's probably a thousand dollars maybe more to
replace four tires on a jeep. So I can't really
ask anybody for that. So instead, I'm like, just get
me give me a bottle of bourbon.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
I guess I don't know.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
You know, that's so cliche.

Speaker 5 (06:08):
Yeah, so cliche with the bottle of Burman's, the bottle
of wines. I don't like gifts like that.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
Yeah, well then then you're getting a gift card. Then
I'm fine with the ks Bar. That's what I'm getting.
That way, we get a return on investment at least
I get. We get our money back one way or another,
because you got to spend the money at ks Bar.
Speaking of ks Bar, later on tonight, the watch party
will be going on there, so come on out watch
UK Volleyball in the Final four. That's going to be

(06:34):
a lot of excitement to It's gonna be on ESPN.
Should be around nine o'clock, although it's thirty minutes after
the game before that, so it could be a.

Speaker 1 (06:41):
Little bit later.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
But come on out and uh let's go to ks
Bar and grill and watch the game and.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
Support the guts.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
Are you nervous about it? Wisconsin's pretty good. They're pretty good. Yeah,
I mean we need a little bit of them. Against
Texas there did not bad.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
Yeah, but I mean, look, when you get to the
final four where everybody's good, so you got to beat somebody.
And Kentucky has beaten just about everybody they play this year.
The only team that's left that they haven't beaten is Pittsburgh.
So if Pittsburgh gets upset, then I feel good about
a national championship. I feel good even if Pittsburgh does win.
I feel like we're going to get them back this year.
So I'm not worried about Wisconsin.

Speaker 5 (07:12):
I think it's really impressive that they made it to
the final four all together. Them just making it to
the final four is really cool for Kentucky volleyball.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
The program is headed in the right direction for sure.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
All Right, So I mentioned that my my weakness of
wrapping gifts. It's definitely not something I would be able
to uh to do if we were doing like the triathlon.
You know, we were talking about like what could each
person do on KSR Liker your talent, Yeah, definitely not
rapping gifts. But we talked about that yesterday on KSR

(07:42):
and it got us down the discussion of who would
win out of the KSR group and a foot race,
and I think the overall consistence was Mario, you would
actually win. You've got youth on your side, you look
to be somewhat athletic. I think we kind of you know,
I had said, okay, Mario would probably finish first.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
By the way. By the way, by the way, are
you fast, Like do you run? Ever?

Speaker 5 (08:06):
I'm pretty fast for my my age group. Like if
you paired me up with another twenty six year old,
I would say, I'm I'm I'm really fast.

Speaker 2 (08:14):
So yeah, so we're all at a disability to begin with,
because we're talking about a twenty six year old versus
a bunch of people over forty.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
Yeah, so let's start there.

Speaker 5 (08:22):
But I want you, Mario, you want me to tell
you the order of who I think would come in
first the last.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
We'll tell you, Okay, we'll give you first. We'll give
you first. Yeah, but I still want to run the race. Yes,
but I want you to give me who among the
rest of us would finish in what order in a
foot race?

Speaker 5 (08:40):
All right, So I'm going me first. I'm going second
Billy because I think Billy. I think you guys are
are not giving him enough credit. He's young, He's he's
thirty years old. I feel like he's I've seen him
in the Haybelt toss.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
He's not. He's not terribly awkward, awkward athletic. You know,
i'd see him, you know winning.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
He's a doll. Let's be real.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
He's a golfer. He's a golfer. Third place, I'm going
with you, Shannon.

Speaker 5 (09:05):
I feel like you lift weights a lot and you're
always in the gym and you're always taking care of
your body.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
So I'm going with you at the third spot.

Speaker 5 (09:12):
After the third spot, it gets Shannon, gets funky.

Speaker 3 (09:15):
It gets funky after that third spot.

Speaker 5 (09:17):
Yeah, I don't know if I should go with Matt
because he's taller.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
I don't know if I should go with Drew.

Speaker 5 (09:23):
And then Ryan's like I feel like Ryan can end
up last, or he could be in that third He
could probably take your spot.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
But he was Ryan in his own mind.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
I guess, and I guess it's actual Ryan Stolen based
king at Kentucky Wesleyan.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
Now that was forty years ago, though, all right, we're.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
Not talking about Ryan Lemon and a foot race in
nineteen eighty six.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
I do know Ryan and a foot race in twenty twenty.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
Five, Shannon.

Speaker 5 (09:48):
I seen Ryan do a bench press like a few
months ago at a remote and I was I was
so surprised that he could do it.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
That's nothing to do with foot speed, nothing to do
with foot man straight.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
I will grant you that he man for his strength
for his age.

Speaker 5 (10:01):
He's very athletic for his age. Now, I don't know
if he's been taking care of his body.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
He's been eating donuts. He ate fifteen donuts over the summer.

Speaker 3 (10:09):
Every every morning. He drinks a French vanilla coffee.

Speaker 5 (10:12):
Man, So I don't I don't know if that's gonna
give him a good chance of winning this ring.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
That's what he.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
Does, man, He carves up. He puts as many carbs
in his body as possible.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
And they don't know.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
Man, Yeah, there's no there is. Okay, here's the thing.
Let me help you out.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
Then, since you're not giving me an answer. Number three,
I probably would go with Ryan. You're going not number three.
I'm talking about out the last three, the bottom three.

Speaker 5 (10:33):
Here, So the bottom three, This is absolutely so, four,
five and six correct?

Speaker 2 (10:37):
Correct is Ryan? Number five is Matt. And I feel
like Drew, like he's got a bad back like I.

Speaker 5 (10:44):
I mean, you know, he's he's the crow. Yeah, I'm
probably gonna go Drew. It's either Drew or Ryan Last.
I don't know who's gonna get it.

Speaker 1 (10:52):
No, is there any scenario where Matt finishes last?

Speaker 5 (10:57):
That's it that that I can see him doing that too.
Like I said that those last three spots, I really
don't know. We should just let them three we.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
Go that that's the thing, Like let's disagree, like you'll
finish first, Billy and I feel like would be a
close race, but Billy might go. Billy does have youth
on his side versus me. So even if we, you know,
just decide Billy would get second, I'll get third.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
I think really we need the bottom three to race.

Speaker 6 (11:21):
We need Matt, we need Tone, we need to.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Go through like what are other things, like just other
random tasks and who could do it best like that
other group.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
Yeah, that would be good. That would be definitely.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
Like if we're talking about who's gonna win a battle
royal and a wrestling ring, I'm gonna be a number one.

Speaker 1 (11:44):
I'm gonna throw you out. I'm gonna throw Billy out.
I'm gonna throw everybody out there.

Speaker 5 (11:48):
Yeah, anything anything that's basketball, I got, of course.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
What about what about who could change a tire? Quicker?
Have you ever changed the tire in your life?

Speaker 7 (11:58):
I have not.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
I have not.

Speaker 1 (12:00):
All right, so then you're last.

Speaker 5 (12:02):
I'll probably last on that one.

Speaker 2 (12:04):
Well, yeah, Matt's probably last because there ain't no way
he's ever changed the tire.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
You will not convince me he's ever done it, So
you too.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
I would at least try. I don't think Matt would try.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
You two are just gonna sit there and like look
at the tire and kick the tire while the rest
of us are changing it.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
Yeah. I don't know who's coming in first though. Who's
the best tire changer out the crew.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
I'll tell you who I think is the best, and
I think it's not even close, and I think it's Ryan.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
Oh for sure, Dad, I know, because yeah, Dad skills.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
You know, back in the day when you took Driver's ed,
you had to be able to change a tire like
that was part of the requirement. If you can't change
a tire, I don't think they would let you pass
the class. Don't think they would let you drive a
car back then if you couldn't change a tire.

Speaker 5 (12:42):
Is that insane? Yeah, that's insane. I can't see that
happening now. But yeah, Ryan, Ryan, for sure.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
I've done it before.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
But I'm much better at supervising when it comes to
anything hands on, whether it be assembling things or changing tires,
I'm much better being hey, man, you need to tighten
that a little bit more there, like that guy. I'm
that guy instead of like the guy actually doing the work.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
So you're giving instructions, you're that guy.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
Yes, I'm the supervisor. When it comes to anything hands on.

Speaker 5 (13:08):
You would frustrate me if I was changing a tire,
if you in my ear telling me you.

Speaker 3 (13:11):
Need to screwing the wrong way. Screwing the wrong way.

Speaker 1 (13:14):
Yeah, Roddy Tidy left you, Lucy. Everybody knows that. Well.

Speaker 4 (13:16):
You know.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
It's like when you have a pit crew, you got
to have somebody that's like the you know, when they're
changing tires in a NASCAR race, you got to have
somebody that's directing traffic.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
I would be that guy.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
When it comes to changing a tire.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
My response would be to you, you do it. That
was Mars.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
You do it.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
I'm tired of you telling me how to change it.
You do it.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
So let's be real. Though you're driving down the road,
you blow a tire, what are you doing? You're calling?
You call Ryan roadside?

Speaker 3 (13:41):
What roadside?

Speaker 1 (13:42):
Okay? You got roadside assistance?

Speaker 5 (13:43):
I think I do you think you do?

Speaker 1 (13:46):
Or you know you do?

Speaker 6 (13:47):
Because I believe I do yeah, well I'm calling somebody.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
You're not doing it. That's all right, So I'll tell
you what.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
Anybody that's listening, if you got other things that you
want us to go through and like just different random task,
let us know at Shannon the dude, and uh, what
is your Twitter?

Speaker 1 (14:06):
At Mario?

Speaker 3 (14:06):
Mario Maitland underscore three?

Speaker 1 (14:08):
There you go?

Speaker 2 (14:08):
All right, yeah, and you can give us a call.
Eight five nine two twenty two eighty seven. Mario is
sitting in for Billy. Billy is on jury duty. Could
you imagine, Mario, Let's imagine you're on trial and you
look over at the jury and there's Billy are sitting
there looking at you.

Speaker 3 (14:22):
Man, Dude, dude, I can do it. I can. I
would be worried. How do you definitely worried?

Speaker 1 (14:28):
Have you ever been on a jury?

Speaker 3 (14:30):
I have not.

Speaker 1 (14:30):
I haven't either.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
I've been called in for jury duty, but never actually
been on a jury.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
So you never went, No, I went. But they eliminate you.

Speaker 5 (14:39):
They're like, okay, hey, if you know I have honestly
don't know how that process works.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
Well, they like they'll call you in like you'll get
a thing in the mill. Like Mark Pope had this
last month where he got out of it.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
Though.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
Yeah, I mean I would think, you know, being the
head coach at Kentucky Basketball is good enough excuses any
to get out of jury duty.

Speaker 3 (14:55):
Oh. Just it really depends on who you are. You
can get out of it. Okay.

Speaker 2 (14:59):
Yeah, if you say that you have, like, you know,
a job that's unique that would allow you to get
out of that. If you have let's say, vacation already planned,
sometimes they'll let you get out of that.

Speaker 1 (15:11):
Radio hosts no like you like I actually had to report.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
But then you go in there and they give you
like a questionnaire like can you be completely unbiased? Or
do you know this person on trial? If you know
the person on trial, you're automatically eliminated. They're not going
to let you, you know, serve on a jury if
that's the case. So yeah, they do it basically like
they weed you out. But it's still kind of a
pain to have to show up and go to jury duty.
And they pay you like twelve bucks a day too, so.

Speaker 3 (15:36):
They pay for your meals too. Correct.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
I think that's the twelve bucks, So don't spend it
all in one place.

Speaker 1 (15:42):
But yeah, that is that is jury duty and hopefully
you have to serve on it.

Speaker 3 (15:46):
Thank you for your jury duty tips, and now know
a little bit more about jury duty.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
All Right, we're gonna take a break. We'll take your
phone calls. Coming up next eight five nine two twenty
two eighty seven. It is the case our apprecial. All right,
welcome by Yeah, oh yeah, this is a Christmas time
is here from Charlie Brown's Christmas.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
What a Pink? Shannon?

Speaker 2 (16:04):
Well, you told I was asking you during the break,
I said, Mario, tell me the best Christmas song of
all time?

Speaker 5 (16:11):
This makes me feel like I'm ten years old back
in New York, Man.

Speaker 3 (16:14):
This is this is the song? You know? You know?
The other song that I really like, Shannon is a
Chestnuts Roasting through the open Fire. I really like that one.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
Do you like that one?

Speaker 3 (16:25):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (16:26):
All right? Well how you look?

Speaker 3 (16:27):
I mean, what's your favorite Christmas song?

Speaker 1 (16:31):
This one's probably up there.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
Like I can't really knock this one too much because
Charlie brown Christmas is so classic?

Speaker 3 (16:37):
It is. Does didn't make you feel like a kid?

Speaker 1 (16:41):
Yeah, yeah it does.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
I'm trying to think like what my favorite one would be.
I kind of got have yourself a marry little Christmas.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
I kind of like that one.

Speaker 3 (16:49):
That's a good one. Do you like uh Mariah Carey?
All I want?

Speaker 1 (16:54):
No, we talked about that yesterday.

Speaker 3 (16:56):
Really you don't like that one?

Speaker 1 (16:57):
Oh no?

Speaker 2 (16:58):
Even though it's like one of the most popular, it's
probably the most popular Christmas song of all time late
just based off like the downloads, and she makes an
ungodly amount of money every single year just from that song,
which is played only for a month of the year.

Speaker 3 (17:15):
Sounds like you're hating a little bit shit. I don't
like it.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
I mean, look, Mariah Carey, she's fine and whatever, but
I mean, like the song itself.

Speaker 5 (17:23):
Are you a little jealous? What are you coming out
with the Christmas album? Or is Alison in Blue Ground?

Speaker 3 (17:28):
Are you?

Speaker 1 (17:28):
Are you guys Alison blue Ground? Is that what you
just called us?

Speaker 3 (17:32):
Alice in blue Gown?

Speaker 1 (17:33):
Alice blue Gown? Yes.

Speaker 3 (17:34):
So, now I'm coming off of one hour sleepsh and
you know that you know.

Speaker 2 (17:38):
That somebody suggests that maybe I should just buy you
and the guys Alice blue Gown shirts for Christmas.

Speaker 3 (17:44):
Why don't we have any yet? Uh?

Speaker 1 (17:46):
Well, maybe you'll get one. A lot of response there
from the first segment. Let's see.

Speaker 2 (17:51):
One person says Mario is nervous because of that growing
rivalry between he and Billy are sports I gotta ask
you about this. Is there a rivalry going on between
you and Billy?

Speaker 3 (18:03):
No is even sided?

Speaker 5 (18:05):
It's not even sided if it's you know what I mean,
and rivaly means like both guys are great, you know
what I mean?

Speaker 3 (18:10):
Like, I don't see it that way.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
So you're saying you are far more superior than Billy
our sports ever will be.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
I think that's what you're saying.

Speaker 6 (18:17):
I am saying that, yes, and so is that not
so when you're far ahead of him that there is
no rivalry because ye aren't even close.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
Okay, Yeah, I understand what you're saying. All right. DraftKings

(19:14):
it was pretty hardcore when Billy broke the lamp at
the furniture store and Mario just tweeted out, what an idiot.

Speaker 1 (19:24):
That was a little rough.

Speaker 5 (19:25):
It was who breaks a Who breaks a lamp in
the furniture store, Shannon, That's the one thing you're not
supposed to do.

Speaker 2 (19:32):
The great thing about that was like, we just did
the pre show and he immediately got off the air
and went over there and just started breaking things.

Speaker 3 (19:38):
And it was loud too, Shan. It was loud.

Speaker 5 (19:40):
I was on the whole other side of the furniture
store and I heard it and I was like, what
was that?

Speaker 3 (19:44):
Like, what is he doing?

Speaker 7 (19:46):
Man?

Speaker 3 (19:46):
Billy r Sports.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
I think we do have a rivalry here. You just
don't want it to admit it.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
Maybe we do.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
I mean, we're starring it up a little bit because
you know, Matt used to try to do that with
Billy and I and now it's passed on to you.

Speaker 1 (19:59):
And you and Billy.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
Did you like my comment though you thought it was
too harsh?

Speaker 1 (20:02):
I got it.

Speaker 3 (20:02):
I took it out of your book, your book, like
I took a page out of.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
Your totally something I would have said.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
Yeah, Hey, five nine, twenty two eighty seven, let's go
to the phones.

Speaker 1 (20:09):
Hey Brock, you're up first. What's up?

Speaker 4 (20:11):
Rock? Hey, guys. I got a quick story involving Ryan
from about twenty years ago, and it ties in with
the decathlon stuff. We did an event called Sofa Survivor
and they had ten events and we did one each
weekend and competed and it's like voted off the island
and the whole bit. It was to another radio station

(20:32):
years ago, but sports talk. But I thought you all
could do something similar. But it was all the events
were either like arcade games, bowling, free throw, shooting, winning
king pong, darts, fluosball. Those were the types of events.
It was all sofa survivor type things and or things

(20:52):
you do at bars pool was one, so something like
that that everybody could compete in and you could do
then you could do like a top ten. But this
was awesome. But Ryan participated in this also along with
like Bryan Latrelle's grandfather and uh so what did he
do Mary Joe Brino? So we basically he well, there

(21:14):
wasn't a specific about him other than him competing with
him every weekend was a blast, like we had to
compete against him the final of all the.

Speaker 1 (21:24):
Things that you had to do. What was Ryan the
worst at?

Speaker 4 (21:27):
Oh, he was really bad at darts. Yeah, he was
really bad at darts. Uh, but he was fairly competitive
in almost everything. Uh and golf was bad. We we
ended the final day, the final weekend was nine holes.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
Of we know golf.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
He's already done prison time for his bad golf putting skills, right.

Speaker 8 (21:49):
That was bad.

Speaker 4 (21:50):
But but with darts, with darts he had trouble even
hitting the actual board.

Speaker 2 (21:53):
No, he's the guy when he leaves you got dart
like little intentions into your wall, dart holes because he
hits the wall when he tries to throw the darts.

Speaker 1 (22:03):
That's Ryan you're telling you right right, yeah, all right, right,
but this.

Speaker 4 (22:07):
Was a blast, and like I said, it was ten
events and yeah, we ended up the winner got a
sofa from a local furniture store, which was awesome.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
Nice, all right, Brock, we appreciate it. Thank you for
the call.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
Eight five nine to twenty two eighty seven South Side
Chuck says, Rank and order. Who in an emergency, Drew
is gonna call to watch his newborn little girl when
she arrives.

Speaker 1 (22:28):
Don't call me. I can tell you that.

Speaker 3 (22:30):
What about you.

Speaker 1 (22:30):
Are you a good babysitter? Probably not. Don't call him
Orio either.

Speaker 3 (22:34):
We'll be right back. I don't know, all right.

Speaker 1 (22:37):
It is the ksrpre Show. If we're going worst Christmas.

Speaker 2 (22:39):
Song of all time, Mario, I've got to go with
this one. This one's called do they Know It's Christmas?
For those of you listening on podcasts, you can't hear it,
but you know the song. And it was by like
a supergroup called band Aid that has, like George heard
of this song.

Speaker 1 (22:53):
You've never heard this song.

Speaker 3 (22:54):
No, this is new.

Speaker 5 (22:55):
This song is pretty bad though. I didn't even know
this was a Christmas song. This is pretty bad.

Speaker 2 (22:59):
Yeah, I had like Bono from YouTube boy George George
Michael sting Is.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
It was a horrible song.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
But you know you're every year that people play the song, Dude,
it's the absolute worst.

Speaker 1 (23:16):
Hey, So go ahead, you.

Speaker 5 (23:18):
Know a song that I really like? Snon, what's another song?
And I'm gonna sing it because I feel like.

Speaker 1 (23:22):
They're are you gonna sing it? Sing it right now?

Speaker 3 (23:24):
Have yourself? Oh Mary, Mary Christmas? You know that song?

Speaker 1 (23:30):
That's the one I said was my favorite like ten minutes.

Speaker 3 (23:32):
Ago, was it? Okay? Okay, all right, Well I'm glad
we won the same page.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
Thanks for listening to the show.

Speaker 2 (23:41):
Landon Wrights and it says, if anyone is on trial
and you see Billy on the jury, you might as
well just mail it in because he's sending your ass
to the pokey.

Speaker 1 (23:48):
Yeah, of course he probably is.

Speaker 2 (23:51):
Another person writes and it says, really enjoyed the show
with you and Matt yesterday.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
It reminded me of the early days of KSR. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (23:57):
I did have a lot of fun just doing the
show with Matt and I I mean that's kind of
how it all started with me and Matt back in
twenty eleven March and twenty eleven.

Speaker 1 (24:07):
You were probably in diapers back then, Mario.

Speaker 5 (24:09):
Okay, I'm not that young. I was actually in New York.
But man, you guys have been doing it for so long.
It's incredible how long you guys been doing it.

Speaker 1 (24:19):
You're how old are you? Twenty six?

Speaker 3 (24:21):
I'm twenty six?

Speaker 1 (24:22):
Yeah, fourteen years ago? You were twelve?

Speaker 3 (24:25):
Yeah, I was twelve.

Speaker 1 (24:26):
You were in diapers.

Speaker 3 (24:28):
I was twelve, was ye. I was a young kid.

Speaker 5 (24:29):
But you got, man, talk about experience. You guys have that, well,
I mean experienced. The first day, neither one of us
could stand each other.

Speaker 3 (24:38):
I kind of got I could see that happen.

Speaker 1 (24:40):
Well, here's what happened.

Speaker 2 (24:41):
Like, you know, our boss at the time said, hey,
would you like to come in and produce this show
called Kentucky Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (24:46):
I had never heard of it before.

Speaker 2 (24:47):
I said sure, whatever, like anything, like I was part
time and I was to.

Speaker 3 (24:51):
Older were you at this time?

Speaker 1 (24:52):
Twenty eight?

Speaker 3 (24:54):
And Matt was probably in his thirties thirties?

Speaker 2 (24:57):
Okay probably you know he's a couple of years older.
He's thirty thirty, I guess at the time. And I said, sure,
I'll come in and produce it. Well, I didn't know
that I was expected to be not only the producer
but the co host of the show Mario, So.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
I came in completely unprepared.

Speaker 3 (25:11):
Me.

Speaker 2 (25:11):
I watched sports and stuff, but you know, I was
a rock radio DJ, like I'd never done sports talk before.
And I felt like I got thrown to the fire
because that first day, like Matt's talking to me on
the air like I'm his co host, and I'm like,
I'm not even prepared to do this, and everybody, like
back then, we really leaned heavily on the message boards
at Kentucky Sports Radio dot com. Yeah, and then you know,

(25:32):
we'd have the message boards open or the comp it
was like a more like a show thread that would
be open and a lot of people would get on
there and we would have sometimes hundreds of comments on there.
And I remember just like that day during the show
and everybody was just hating on me. It was the
universal hate. I never felt more hated other than being

(25:53):
a novw.

Speaker 3 (25:56):
My entire life. I was gonna ask you did BBN
like welcome you?

Speaker 6 (26:00):
Well?

Speaker 1 (26:00):
They hated me, like I'm talking like you know them,
did you do? I was just on the air. Nobody
liked me. They all hated me.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
I'm going, man, like, this is a tough crowd here,
and you know you had the exact opposite.

Speaker 1 (26:12):
You came in.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
Everybody loves Mario. You know you never never get a
bad comment. But me, I'm telling you that first day
I came in there and everybody was just hating on me,
and I'm like, I'm like, I'm like, this is weird.
Like they it all.

Speaker 5 (26:24):
Worked out, man, I know it was tough in the beginning,
but it worked out.

Speaker 3 (26:28):
Now everybody loves shinning.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
The dudes, yeah, well some of them anyway, not everybody. Hey,
if I'm nine twenty two eighty seven, let's go back
to the phones and talk to Brandon.

Speaker 1 (26:36):
What's up Brandon?

Speaker 7 (26:38):
Hey, guys, are you all Mario? Man, you're doing an
awesome job. Thank you.

Speaker 1 (26:42):
Everybody loves Mario. Everybody loves Mario. He didn't say I
was awesome, Mario. He said You're awesome.

Speaker 3 (26:50):
Oh man, thank you.

Speaker 7 (26:51):
Man, you are too.

Speaker 8 (26:53):
Man.

Speaker 7 (26:54):
So listen, I'll rest my son. He plays one hundred
and forty four pounds. I'm thirty nine years old. He
just committed to wrestle him to me in three college,
so I thought, for sure I can have.

Speaker 4 (27:03):
Some old man strength and just manhand.

Speaker 7 (27:05):
Well, he didn't just beat me at wrestling. Instead of
slamming me, he laid me down. He completely killed my confidence.
I mean, my seventeen year old son just laid me
down the ground. I mean it's awful. So my question
is is this is come of not high school wrestling college,
but for like WW type stuff. It would be the coolest,
best tag team for the ks R crew that would

(27:25):
bring the most writings and energy but also be the
best wrestlers on the show. Thank you, guys, I appreciate you.
I'll take them a call.

Speaker 2 (27:31):
Than the man all right, talking like most charisma, best
promo on the mic.

Speaker 1 (27:37):
I mean, the other guys have a little bit of.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
Experience being like in that world, Like you know, Ryan
has been like a guest manager, Drew's you know, been there, Matt,
Matt knows the business enough.

Speaker 1 (27:50):
But as far as a tag team.

Speaker 2 (27:52):
Yeah, exactly, it's got to be me and somebody else.

Speaker 3 (27:57):
You know, you've got out of the crew.

Speaker 1 (27:59):
M I feel like me and I feel like me
and Ryan would be that's a that's.

Speaker 3 (28:04):
A power team. That's super team.

Speaker 5 (28:06):
You can't do super teams, Shanna, I can't pick Ryan
do super team Shannon.

Speaker 2 (28:11):
That's like Ryan and I would just go out there
and be like the nastiest Hills that just cheated to
win and everybody's hated us.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
You guys would be brutal.

Speaker 5 (28:18):
Yeah, I'm pairing you with like you and Billy would
be the pre show crew.

Speaker 3 (28:22):
Would be a good good now good balance Billy balance.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
Billy doesn't respect the business. Billy doesn't respect wrestling. He
thinks it's a trampoline. He always takes shots. So I'm
not picking Billy as my tag team partner just out
of spite.

Speaker 1 (28:34):
So just set him to the side.

Speaker 5 (28:36):
Well you need balance, shinning. I'm going with Ryan. Ryan's
gonna be my partner. I think we can make it.
We can make it gritty, you know, we can make
it and we can try to do something there.

Speaker 3 (28:45):
I like. I like Ryan as my partner.

Speaker 1 (28:46):
Have you ever been in a wrestling ring?

Speaker 3 (28:48):
Not once?

Speaker 2 (28:49):
Okay, I could promise you. It's not a trampoline like Billy,
trust to say. Like I go and I trained once
a week and on Wednesday morning, I'm.

Speaker 1 (28:57):
Hating life, Like that's how sore my body? Yeah, so
it is.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
It is definitely not that yeah, I think Ryan and I.
That's that's my answer. You're picking you're picking Ryan.

Speaker 3 (29:07):
To Yeah, no, supermes.

Speaker 1 (29:08):
Yeah there you go. All right, let's go back to
the phones and free birds up next. Hey, free bird,
Hey Shannon.

Speaker 8 (29:14):
We're saying Mario, how are you about it?

Speaker 3 (29:16):
What's up?

Speaker 4 (29:16):
My man?

Speaker 1 (29:17):
It's a free bird?

Speaker 8 (29:18):
Hey?

Speaker 4 (29:19):
Uh?

Speaker 8 (29:19):
Mario has never been in a ring? Correct? Has Billy
been in a ring? No?

Speaker 2 (29:24):
That's why he talks all that snack. If he ever
gets in there, I'll make them regret it.

Speaker 8 (29:28):
Well, if we're gonna have a rivalry between Mario and
Billy Shanny, you got to get up in the rig
and see it. Who can lay it to smack it
down on one another?

Speaker 4 (29:37):
I would.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
I would be the make me the referee. I'll get
in between them.

Speaker 3 (29:41):
That's easy for me.

Speaker 8 (29:45):
That would be a good.

Speaker 1 (29:46):
Yeah, that's right, that's right. But you got what you got,
free bird.

Speaker 8 (29:51):
Well, I got a question. I want to get your
all's opinion on something. You know all this n L.
Do you think the of their schools out there having
as much problems and issues as we are here in
Kentucky about you know, agents and commissioners or whatever you
want to call them business people because you never see

(30:12):
in the news if you did.

Speaker 2 (30:13):
I'm sure that they do, but we just don't focus
on them, you know, like we're so hyper focused on
what's going on at Kentucky in Lexington, like we see
all the good and the bad and the ugly. And
I appreciate the call free bird. I'm sure that this
happens at other schools too. I'm sure we're sure we're
not the only one out there. But I do think
the JMI thing is is a big deal.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
I mean it is.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
Obviously we've seen all these other blue blood schools, and
not just them, I mean just about every significant program
out there at least has somebody signed on for the
twenty twenty sixth class, and Mario Kentucky still has zero.
They've got a couple of prospects, a couple of five
star guys that have cut down their top five, and
Kentucky's included into that group. But we got a land one.

(30:57):
And that's been the knock on Pope so far. This
you know, this, this this tenure as a coach here
at Kentucky. Can he land the big one?

Speaker 5 (31:04):
Maybe other schools are having issues, Maybe they're not No.
One really knows what's going on behind the scenes, but
I know we're not getting them. We're not getting any recruits,
so it sure looks like we're having some issues. But yeah,
we're not getting him. Like this season, we didn't get
any top freshmen. I mean, if you want to count
Malachai and Jasper, I honestly don't count them.

Speaker 3 (31:24):
Because they're from here. You're supposed to get those guys.

Speaker 5 (31:27):
But as far as the twenty twenty sixth class, I mean,
we haven't got one top top freshman. So that definitely
something that's alarming, especially for school like Kentucky. Kentucky's like
one of the top blue bloods, and Kentucky the brand
itself should draw in recruits and it hasn't been.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
It hasn't been lately.

Speaker 2 (31:43):
So I don't know whether the JMI conversation has really
been like the number one topic all week long. I mean,
we opened up the phone yesterday and we did it. It
was all Jami ask anything, and everybody wanted to talk
about Jmi Ami.

Speaker 1 (31:54):
Yeah, and you know, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (31:56):
Exactly what you know the hang up is in contract,
but there's clearly something that is something that they've been
turn off to recruits where they don't want to sign
here at Kentucky. Now, Mitch Barnhardt did that interview with
the Lexison Hero Leader where he said that they can
sign with third parties, you know, the third party businesses

(32:17):
companies to do nil stuff. But there's got to be
something in there that's not, you know, not something that
players want to agree to.

Speaker 1 (32:26):
And that's one of the places.

Speaker 5 (32:28):
These next few months are gonna be so important. Like
is Kentucky gonna land Stokes, Are they gonna land a
top recruit like Collins? Like this is what We're just
gonna have to wait and see what happens. Yeah, I
think that's the key thing. But like I said, this
last past class, you didn't you didn't land no top freshmen.
We didn't get Nate Emt and Nate met chose Tennessee
over US, Tennessee over US. You know, we didn't get

(32:52):
kayleb Wilson. We probably were. I thought Kayler Wilson was
a given. We didn't get him. So I want to
see top recruits return Kentucky. That's that's that's always been
the case for Kentucky. And I think in order to
win Shannon, you need you need a good mix of
freshmen and some good veterans as well.

Speaker 3 (33:08):
You need those top talent. I don't care how old
they are.

Speaker 5 (33:11):
I know you guys were talking about on KSR, like
can you win with just freshmen and all that good stuff?
I think you need some freshman Shannon. I think they helped.
Talent is talent regardless of the age.

Speaker 1 (33:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (33:21):
I don't think there's like a way that you have
to do it to win a championship. But we've seen
teams do it with one and done's exactly. We've seen
teams do it with the transfer portal when Baylor won,
you know, a few year years ago. So I mean,
I don't think there's a you know, a specific way
that you have to do it, but you know you
do have to at some point if you're Mark Pope

(33:42):
land a five star recruit, so that that narrative goes
away that you can't get the big one because here at.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
Kentucky for all those years, we were used to the
one and done guys.

Speaker 2 (33:51):
The other thing about that is, though, when we were
getting the one and done guys, how many of our
fans that, man, I really wish we could get some
guys that would stick around too.

Speaker 1 (33:59):
That's very true.

Speaker 3 (34:00):
That's very true.

Speaker 1 (34:01):
How he got pretty much a full team.

Speaker 5 (34:02):
Of that, And that brings me, That brings me to
my next point is I don't care what Mark Pope does,
if he decides, if he doesn't get these freshmen or
whatever the case may be. You gotta win, like, you
have to win, Like that's the most important thing.

Speaker 3 (34:13):
Was Winning solves everything. If you're winning, no one will care.

Speaker 1 (34:17):
Yeah, yeah, you're right about that.

Speaker 2 (34:18):
The other thing that we hit on yesterday on the
Mitch Barneheart interview is that he was talking about his
future here at Kentucky, and I mean he danced all
around that question. I mean, he has really mastered the
art of saying a whole lot of words without saying
anything at all.

Speaker 3 (34:33):
Yeah, I wasn't.

Speaker 7 (34:33):
I was.

Speaker 3 (34:34):
I looked back on the quote.

Speaker 5 (34:35):
I read it online when I got home, and I
don't know if Like I read part of the quote
and I'm like, Oh, he's coming back, and then like
at the end of the quote, I'm like, maybe he's
not coming back. Yeah, you know what I mean, there's
a lot of I don't know for sure what's going on.
He says he wants to win more you know, so
maybe that's the sign that he wants to come back.
He says he has two and a half years left

(34:57):
on his contract. Maybe he's gonna finished that out. So
I don't really know exactly. There's a lot of signs
saying that he's gonna stay, and then there's some signs
where I'm like, I'm not one hundred percent sure he is.

Speaker 2 (35:08):
I mean, if you read that quote, it's impossible to
get a read on it, Like you can't get a
vibe on one way.

Speaker 1 (35:14):
Or the other.

Speaker 2 (35:14):
So, yeah, I don't know that asking the question, we
learned anything that we didn't know before. All right, we're
gonna take a break, come back for our final segment,
we'll go back to the phone lines eight five, nine, two, eight,
twenty two eighty seven at Shannon and Mario here on
the ksrpre sho oh yeah, all right, there you go. No,
this is my guy right here. This is Scott Wiland

(35:36):
from Stone Tipple Pilots. He put out a Christmas album
and this is my favorite version of this song.

Speaker 1 (35:42):
I really love this one. Have yourself a merry little Christmas.

Speaker 3 (35:45):
This is how you do it.

Speaker 5 (35:46):
Shannon, Yeah, I thought you were gonna switch it up.
I thought you were gonna go with some Jackson five good. Yeah,
I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus. But I like this
one too, even though I just sang it, but I
like it.

Speaker 2 (36:00):
I gotta that reminds you just said you saying I
saw Mommy kissing Santa Cla.

Speaker 1 (36:04):
I gotta get your ruling on this, Okay.

Speaker 2 (36:07):
So my buddy and I every year we do this
tradition where he buys me an ugly Christmas sweater and
vice versa. Right, so we buy each other ugly Christmas weaters.
The only thing is you gotta wear it, and you
gotta wear it out for like a night on the town,
like at at a bar, or like you gotta go
out wearing each other's ugly Christmas sweater.

Speaker 1 (36:27):
And normally I'm a lot more mean to him than
he is to me.

Speaker 2 (36:32):
But when you said I saw Daddy kissing Santa Claus,
it reminded me of mommy.

Speaker 5 (36:36):
I saw Mommy, Mommy.

Speaker 2 (36:38):
Well, it could be daddy the sweater that I got
him this year, says, I saw Diddy kissing Santa Claus.

Speaker 1 (36:47):
And it's Diddy kissing Santa Claus. And that's he doesn't
listen to this show.

Speaker 2 (36:51):
So it's okay, there's always a surprise, foul me getting
my buddy. I saw Diddy kissing Hanta Claus shirt and
he has to wear out in public.

Speaker 3 (37:03):
Well why do you do that?

Speaker 8 (37:04):
Shit?

Speaker 3 (37:05):
Why did you do that to sh Shinnon? Why did
you do that to him?

Speaker 2 (37:09):
Well, that's an easy compar I can't even I can't.
I don't eve think I could tell you on the
radio what what I got him a couple.

Speaker 1 (37:13):
Of years ago. But yes, so wear that out. Yeah,
and here's the here's the great thing about it too.

Speaker 2 (37:19):
He's a big dude, Like he looks like a lineman,
like I'm telling you, like he's you know, perfect.

Speaker 5 (37:25):
So I don't know where you got that sweater, but man, I.

Speaker 3 (37:30):
Feel bad for good friend.

Speaker 1 (37:31):
Just googled it.

Speaker 3 (37:32):
Feel bad for your friend.

Speaker 1 (37:33):
Yeah, yeah, I'll let you.

Speaker 2 (37:34):
What I should do is I'll send out. I'll send
you a picture whenever I get mine.

Speaker 3 (37:38):
I need to see it.

Speaker 1 (37:38):
Yeah, we'll see what we get.

Speaker 5 (37:40):
Christmas sweaters are coming out. Man, they've been out a lot.
I've seen a lot last night at Trivia Night, so.

Speaker 1 (37:44):
Yeah, I was that.

Speaker 5 (37:45):
By the way, good crowd last night, great crowd. One
of the best crowds, a lot of a lot of
young folks in there, yep.

Speaker 2 (37:50):
And we'll pack the house tonight at KS Bar for
the Kentucky Volleyball watch party. Kentucky basketball taking on Saint
John's kept it up on Saturday. This is gonna be
one that I've been looking looking forward to all season long.
When they first announced that Pope would get to play
against Patino. It's gonna be down in Atlanta.

Speaker 5 (38:06):
So much going on. Yeah, I think we JQ possibly
coming back shint.

Speaker 2 (38:11):
Twelve ten to twelve minutes. That's what the texture told Matt.
We'll see if that happens. But I do expect him
to play though, and that's a Dams.

Speaker 3 (38:19):
Maybe Denham's coming out. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (38:21):
Maybe maybe it would be a good time to do it.
I mean, playing against Patino. I mean when would there
be a better time to bust out the denims.

Speaker 5 (38:29):
I feel like it would be perfect to do it.
But yeah, I'm excited for it, man. I can't wait
to see what Jake you can do.

Speaker 7 (38:33):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (38:34):
Patino says he's gonna try to speed up Kentucky's offense,
try to create some chaos, create some turnovers, bad shots.
I'll be interested to see how Kentucky handles that. You know,
I don't think that we're going to see a full
court press, although.

Speaker 1 (38:45):
That would be that would be a good uh like.

Speaker 2 (38:48):
Throwback if if Saint John's came out impressed Mark Pope
because those teams are the way they played back in
the nineties.

Speaker 1 (38:54):
But yeah, it's I think it's gonna be a really
good game both.

Speaker 3 (38:57):
I think it is. I think Kentucky's got it.

Speaker 5 (38:59):
One thing they got to do is, of course, they
got to come out with effort that they got to
take care of the ball and hit the glass. I
think they do those things that they did in the
second half against Indiana, they have a chance. And now
I'm a little bit worried because Saint John's like they're
really athletic. Kentucky struggles against athletic teams. I mean the
teams that we've Kentucky has beaten in the past. The
per Dude is not necessarily the most athletic team when

(39:20):
they play athletic teams like Michigan.

Speaker 3 (39:22):
State, Louisville.

Speaker 5 (39:23):
They Gonzaga's super athletic and has plenty of side We
struggled against them I'm a little bit nervous about the
athleticism that Saint John's is gonna bring, because this is
gonna be one of the more athletic teams that they're
gonna play.

Speaker 2 (39:34):
I think this is going to be a defensive, physical,
slugfest type of game.

Speaker 1 (39:39):
Like I don't think.

Speaker 2 (39:39):
I don't think either team is even touching the eighties.
I think this is a game that's gonna be one
in the seventies, maybe even the sixties. I just don't
see I don't see a whole lot of offense in
this game. I think it's gonna be more mostly defensive for.

Speaker 5 (39:51):
Sure, and I think that should be Kentucky's identities going forward.
His defense, make it chop up the game a little bit.
They're not gonna score a lot, don't. Honestly, I don't
think they're right half court team, if I'm being real.
They got a lot of guys that that can, like
Colin Chandler will take it away. Get get these guys
out in transition, man, I want to see one more
in transition, and I definitely want to see more of

(40:12):
Jalen Low, you know, be Jalen Low of the second
half that we saw in Indiana. He's He's played a
lot of a lot of times this season in Louisville.
You see him, He'll have five or six possessions where
he looks really, really good, and then there will be
like two or three possessions where you're like, okay, like
what's going on. I think the major thing for Jayalen
Lowe is how can he sustain those five or six
possessions where he's really good in an entire game? Like,

(40:34):
how is he gonna Can he play like that the
entire game? That's what I want to see from Jalen
low And then.

Speaker 2 (40:38):
Like from just a broader picture of the season, I mean,
both of these teams need this win. Neither team hasn't
win over a top twenty five team yet for sure,
And I mean Saint John's if they win, they're not
gonna get win over a top twenty five team, but
it's still Kentucky and could still look good on their resume.
So both both teams I think really looking to get
like a good mark He win. I think me beating
in the end I think was a somewhat of a

(40:58):
marquee win, but wasn't a top twenty five team.

Speaker 3 (41:00):
You got a top team.

Speaker 2 (41:01):
You gotta yeah, you got. You get a chance to
be a top twenty five team on Saturday.

Speaker 3 (41:04):
Let's and you know, you know Patinos teams, they play hard.

Speaker 5 (41:08):
You got Bryce Hopkins playing his old formats.

Speaker 3 (41:11):
Go be a lot of fun.

Speaker 1 (41:12):
Jeff got about thirty seconds, go ahead, Jeff.

Speaker 8 (41:15):
Hey, do you guys know if that quarterback from Cincinnati
that'sposed played baseball and field ball is still committed.

Speaker 2 (41:21):
To Yes, yes he is, Yes he is Potatowski. You
talked about Ponatowski. Yeah, yeah, yeah, he actually uh went
ahead and signed quicker than what he was supposed to.
So yeah, he's definitely excited. Thanks for the college Jeff
and the other thing. And we had Luckett on earlier
this week, and it sounds like that will Stein is

(41:43):
committed to having Cutter Bowley be his his quarterback. Not
even you know, he said that he's got the battle
for his position for you know, to be the starter.
But great that they're actually going to have Cutter around
for another year. Hey, before we get out of here, promo
