(00:21):
plus Classic Rock all Day and CollectiveSoul. A lot of folks that have
listened to me over the years. No, it is my favorite band.
They've been together since the early nineties, still going strong. They're touring like
you just like crazy with Hooty andthe Blowfish. Come in to White River
Empatheater on July twenty second. Andthis is a very exciting moment for me
because frontman of the band, EdRoland from Collective Soul is with us.

(00:44):
Hey head, Hey, good morning, Ed. I'm going to do my
best not to fanboy out because yeahyou really, Ed. He's not kidding.
The show starts every morning with oneof your songs. He is a
super fan, raised his kids tobe super fans. It's true. You

(01:04):
that's I mean, that's that's humbling. Thank you. Yes, yeah,
you know. At my daughter,It's really interesting because I raised both my
kids brought them to your shows whenthey were you know, basically like in
their single digits and and maybe liketen. My daughter has an entire playlist
her on her iPhone and it's allhip hop, it's all rap. It
is just and then collective soul. And a lot of her friends go,

(01:26):
what do you what is this eclecticmix? And she says, ah,
my dad loves it and I loveit, and so it is. It
is. It's a thing that's goodto spread. It's good to spread out
listening different flavors of music. That'sawesome. At least your kids listening to
music. My boys don't even givea damn what I do. What you
know what, I always wonder aboutthat because that you know, you're in

(01:49):
the entertainment business. Then you havekids, and you hear actors, and
you hear a lot of people whosay that their children just don't give a
darn about the stuff that makes theirpeople famous. What do you mean by
that? And don't like your music, or they're not into music at all,
or just different genres. No,they listen to music, but they
just you know, they're little athletes. They want to just run and throw
the ball, kick the ball allthat, which is which is great to

(02:10):
me because I'm just Dad's that meansa lot to me. You know,
if they wanted to listen to it, you know, I support anything they
want as long as you're happy. But they really, you know, they
enjoy coming out on the bus andtours because it's like a plate pen and
they were hanging around the boys. But I don't they don't watch the shows.
They don't care. How long areyour kids. I'm like, well,
once fifteen and once twenty five?Wow, So they're not going to

(02:34):
grow out of it? Yeah, yeah, he's done. He's just all
in the sports, which is great. I love sports too, So that's
our common denominator. Yeah, itis. It can be humbling, but
like you say, it is kindof cool that you get to just be
regular dad. I do love that. And you know, for folks that
don't know ed, and I loveto let people know about the origin story

(02:57):
of a collective soul and you becauseI can't believe that your first album was
basically just a demo, like itdidn't you didn't even do it in a
studio and you guys got to beas famous as you are be and you
didn't even like you didn't even havea band, Is that right ed,
That's correct. I was in abasement just doing demos. I worked in

(03:19):
a studio for ten years before allthis happened. And you know, in
the downtime in the studio, Iwas still in there and record my music.
Learn learn how to record, learnhow to produce, learn how the
gear work. And I over afive year period just put a collection of
songs together, try to get apublishing deal. And I would send it
to anybody and everybody in Georgia Statewhere my brother went. He's in the

(03:44):
band with me. I gave itone day, I said just take this
in see if they had a Sundaynight where they play local music. And
they played Sean And that was Novemberof ninety three, and it just from
that point it just started blowing up. Like I would send it to radio
stations and organically it started playing everywhere. Orlando is our first big, in
the New Mexico and Texas, thenup in Chicago. It just and we

(04:09):
had no record deal we had.I mean I literally called my brother who
was he was in a hit.The rest of the band was in a
frat band that played around Georgia Techand Georgia Stay, and I said,
hey, guys, can y'all earnjust three of these songs because they were
asking me to play these Christmas festivalsor whatever. And literally our first show,
I think we played Shine like sixtimes and maybe songs so and so.

(04:33):
So the first album hints allegations andthings left unsaid. That's just a
demo tape, yes, And whenwe got signed, I mean we started
playing, you know, at thebeginning of the year. We thought we'd
go in and record because I meanit was just it was very collectic songs
on that first one because I wasjust trying to share I could write country
pop, grunge or if you wantto call it whatever was going on at

(04:54):
that time, rock and uh.We thought, oh, we got signed,
we'll go make good record and theywere like, no, putting this
album. It's like, guys, you do realize that it was made on
an eight track by me with adrum machine and I'm a horrible drummer.
We're gonna play drums at that time. And I was like and they're like,
no, it's you know, italready charted and they were like you
got to go. So next thing, we know we're playing What'stock ninety four

(05:16):
and opening for Aerosmith, and we'relike looking at each other, going,
how in the world did we gethere? What is going on? That
is so crazy because we've got LondonBridge Studios, and of course here in
Seattle, so many great bands andeven local bands that just they go,
we got to get in and getthat perfect sound. And here you are
post basement, in your basement withan A track and they go, oh,
no problem, we'll make an albumout of this. That's just nuts.

(05:39):
Collector Soul currently on tour Hooty andthe Bluefish. I said, you're
out on tour with Hooty and theBlowfish. I want everyone to know.
You're gonna be a White River Amptheateron July twentieth. Collective Soul, and
you have a new album coming out? Can you tell us about that?
Ed? Yeah, we were blessed, Like we moved from the basement that
just the upstairs of homes. Welove recording and homes. I have all

(05:59):
the recording equipment. And I metabout five years ago the guys that owned
Elvis Presley Estate and Palm Springs. He owned two homes when he passed,
of course, where everybody knows Graceone, but he owned won in Palm
Springs, which Priscilla the left dormantwhen he died. It was just left
dormant. But his last Thanksgiving,Christmas and Birthday and his last three records
he did. It did in thishome. So we decided to go to

(06:20):
Elvis's house and we recorded and itwas it was the craziest vibe on the
planet. So we just set upshopped there and I came in with like
ten songs and the guys we hadit for a month, I mean,
and within four days we had recordedten songs. So I said, well,
y'all go away for four days andlet me write some more songs.
I wrote in four days, wrotelike twelve songs and they came back in

(06:43):
and then then we recorded those inlike six days, and so we decided
to make a double album. It'sa dream that I've always had as a
songwriter as a kid. You know, I love double albums growing up.
I just loved that concept. Somanagement agreed to it, and they were
like, all right, let's releasetwenty songs that people have that much time
in their day to listen to.Twenty songs. Did you sleep there?
Like when you were at Elvis's housein Pump Springs, did you like spend

(07:05):
all your time there? I amthe only man that has slept in Elvis
Presley's bedroom. Wow, that isso wild and yet and we're talking to
Ed rolland from Collective Soul, Edyou know, before we let you go,
I do want I want to tellto have you tell this story,
because this is something that just doesn'thappen to a lot of people who get

(07:28):
into any business. They always say, don't meet you know, don't don't
don't meet your idols, don't meetthe people that you loved or got you
started or inspired by anything. AndI know that the first album you ever
bought was Elton John's album. AndI cannot believe, like how your life
has taken you from this kid choosingthis album out of a bunch of other
albums, you decide, all right, I love this and I'm gonna again

(07:51):
inspire to be a songwriter. Andnext thing you know, you have these
amazing encounters with Elton John. Andif you don't mind, I'd love to
like he get you a gift, and of course you got to perform with
him. I how did that allcome to be? You were like,
you know, little kid, EdRowland must be dying every time you think
about that. I did well.It started. Elton lived in Atlanta,

(08:13):
he just moved. He just finallysold it, but he was here for
about thirty years. And and uh, we were at What's Stock ninety four
and this photographer came up and said, Elton John wants to talk to you.
And I was like what, andhe said, yeah, so he's
He handed the phone to me andit was Elton and I was like,
oh, Mark, what is like? Literally, like like you said,

(08:33):
it's just mind blowing what was goingon? Everything's happening so quick. So
I got back home and we gotto know each other over his house and
eat and he sang on a songwith us on a record, and we
just got to be good friends. He helped me out in uh, parts
of my life that was kind oftough. He'd come by and picked me
up, get on the plane withhim, fly out to Philadelphia, New
York and staying play and the Billyand uh, just to really once again,

(08:56):
everybody knows his music, but he'ssuch a good giving man, Like
you know, not because I knowhim but I see what he does outside
of people noticing, you know,he gives back so much to community.
So it's great to meet your hero, not only for his music but his
character. And then I was goingon tour one day and he called me.
I forgot what day. It waslike a Wednesday, I can remember.

(09:18):
I was at lunch and then hesaid, I need to talk to
you, love, and I waslike, well, I'm busy right now,
let me call you back. Hegoes, well, I got a
gift coming to you tomorrow. AndI said, well, because we give
each other gifts, it was justkind of that's his way of showing love.
And I said, well, Ileave tomorrow morning for tour and he
says, well, somebody's gonna bethere and I just thought it was like
flowers or something. And ten minuteslater calls back and he goes, I

(09:41):
just got to tell you what Igive I'm giving you and I was like,
okay. He goes, I'm givingyou a grand piano. Elton,
I can't take I can't take that. Dude, that's just so kind.
But man, this is you're blowingmy mind. He goes, Nope,
you're taking it. No. Thefans of butts and what you're gonna do
is you're gonna write great songs onit. I said, thank you.
So that is my proz possession thatDolly Parton seeing Sean Win in the Grammy.

(10:05):
That's not that's not bad for acareer. That nobody really knows the
band. Yeah, it's amazing.Yeah, sorry, it is. I
mean that, You're absolutely right.I forgot about the Dolly Parton thing too,
and you got. It's a sadthing because once anybody plays your music,
people are like, oh my gosh, I remember these guys and and
and they love that song. Iwas just you know, and I was

(10:26):
just recently, we do this littledance every Saturday and all of us just
as a free form dance thing, and you get to make requests, and
so I threw a collective soul songin there. But nobody knew the song
because it's a deep cut and youknow it full circle, which I it's
one of my favorite songs. Ilove that it's got such a great jazzy
sound to it, and it's goodon that so oh such a and such

(10:50):
a great message too. I mean, man, if you're if you're feeling
like you will never find love Again, you got a Broken Heart. Collective
Souls Full Circle will really just liftyou up. And I played it and
the DJ said, how do Iknow these guys? And I said,
oh, it's Collective Soul, andhe goes, really, and he all
of a sudden, he just wentnuts and dug into the catalog and just

(11:11):
realized, Man, there's so manysongs for these guys that I love.
And that was a time during theSeattle Sound aka grunge, and you guys,
it was amazing the success you hadsince you really you weren't that and
you know ed how was that?Because everybody's talking about Nirvana, Pearl Jam,
Soundgard and all that stuff, andhere you guys are having success around

(11:31):
the same time, but not beingthat kind of being well, kind of
being a lot of things. Well, I think, once again, I
think I hate you using categories ofmusic, but I think grunge really how
rock. It brought different rock stylesout. We weren't grunch because we're Southern
boys, to be honestly, youknow, grunge to me had a Northwestern
vibe to it. I'm married aSeattle girl, so I do have a

(11:52):
little bit of grunge blood. ListOh, there you go, Yeah,
there you go. But I thinkI thought it brought, you know,
cognition to all types of rock musicat that time, which was kind of
fading a little bit, and Ilove that music. That wasn't what we
were about. We were more riffbased, and I don't want to say
angry. We're kind of a littlemore. I would like to think uplifting

(12:13):
in some of our lyrics. SometimesI get a little dark, but it
was more about being lyrically being alittle more positive and singing about different subjects.
I guess I should say, Well, new album is coming out May
seventeenth, double album from Collective Soul. Double album. Yeah, and don't
forget Collective Soul. Out on tourwith Hooty and the Blowfish, White River

(12:33):
Amphitheater July twentieth, going to bea fantastic concert. And I'm sure Bja
you will be there just gazing atyour idle Ed Roland and thanks so much
for joining us this morning. Comeon backstage and hang out with the boys.
Why okay, I think that's awonderful invitation. I appreciate that.
Bring your daughter, Oh my gosh, you would dine hang out with us

(12:56):
and the HOODI boys are great. We've known them, of course, we
were on the same le. We'veknown them further years too, So it's
it's a great experience for us,and we really appreciate them letting us tag
along. It's gonna be a funshot. Ed. I appreciate everything you
guys have done. Is such agreat band. Collective Soul and Ed thank
you so much for joining us.Thank you so much. All Right,

(13:16):
we'll see you on July twentieth,ed Roland Collective Soul. There you go,
Yeah, white stage, get you. I know how cool is that?
How can you say no to that? Exactly? And of course I
would never ask for that, soit's so nice. It was offered,
very cool to talk with him.So the next thing is the piano?
How can I get that? Yeah? Not giving you? Not give me
the piano? Okay? It ismusic from Collective Soul right now on one

(13:39):
O two point five kzy Okay, classic rock all day, Bjshay and Sarah
Mornings. We'll bring you life coachnext, bjsh and Sarah Mornings. Jake
it or leave it is Sarah, but can we please focus. We're here
to there's still the spending advice, the Life Coach is in Okay. He's
a little different on one O twopoint five kzy Okay, Seattle's classic rock

(14:05):
station, Life Coaches, we arein Sarah's Gotta Masters. I've been in
therapy way too long. And youcan call us eight hundred two five two
one O two five, send anemail to Life Coach at kzoka dot com,
or you can tell Alexa to senda talkback to one O two point
five kz Okay. Ian in Tacomahas been on the phone for us.
Hey, Ian, Hey, how'sit going? Not too bad? Buddy?

(14:26):
What can we do for you?Uh? So, this is just
a kind of a question. Whatdo I do? I don't have a
girlfriend. I work a lot,I don't have a lot of free time.
But I got some vacation coming upsoon, and my buddy and his
girlfriend invited me on this trip thatthey're going on. But it's three couples,

(14:46):
so I'll be like by myself, basically the seventh wheel. So I'm
just wondering if this weird? ShouldI go? Should I not? My
son though now he has a girlfriend, but for years he was the blank
wheel, and he really somehow Somewayembraced it and fit into it. I

(15:09):
always wondered, like couples would invitehim everywhere. He was always the third
wheel or the fifth wheel or whateverwe want to call it. He always
was, but everybody loved him beingthere. He went there, and he
did that for I don't know, thirty three years of his life seems,
and he just finally has a girlthough it's long distance, so we don't
know, you know, they're gonnabe able to make that work. But

(15:31):
he loved it. So I mean, if I feel like, if you
embrace it, you know, anddon't feel like you're said and lonely,
yeah like it. They're not sayingyou should bring someone they I think it
sounds like it's the same thing, and that they're embracing you as the single
guy. You know that if they'relike, well, to find somebody to
bring with you, they're okay withyou being the single guy. Yeah,

(15:54):
I've made it clear to them.I'm fine. I'm not sad. This
is like, you know, I'vechosen to live my life this way.
It's you know, by my careerright now. Uh you know, so
it doesn't bother me. I'm justwondering if it's gonna be weird to them
basically, but they can. Doyou think it's a pity invite because that's
a I mean, or is thatwhat you're afraid of? That? Maybe

(16:15):
it's weird to them, but theyfeel bad so they go, Well,
it's sort of like like a holidaydinner. A little bit that's crossed my
mind. It doesn't feel that way. They're my real good friends and they
love me, so it didn't necessarilyfeel that way. But you know,
I'm worried. I worry sometimes anddo you uh? Do you are you
open to somebody coming into your life? Because I I my son apparently was.

(16:37):
I thought he'd be a perpetual bachelorbecause I never thought he'd find anybody.
Are you open to somebody coming intoyour life? I'm definitely at that
point where I'm not looking for it, But that's usually when you know,
I hear something comes and find you. That's right, buddy, I guess.
But I'm I'm not just gonna I'mnot looking for it right now.

(16:57):
Yeah, I wasn't. I wasn'tlooking for it. Then Sarah came into
my life, and I realized it'snot always a good thing. It's not
always a good thing when they comeinto your life, and if they're not
the kind of people who like showall sorts of affection and like make you
feel like you shouldn't be there, then I say you go. Life's too
short. You gotta go have fun. Is my feeling like, I'm good?

(17:18):
I'm good. I don't. Idon't mind seeing them do their thing.
It's fine. You know who wehaven't asked is the expert. Oh,
we haven't asked the expert in loneliness, the expert in not being able
to really, you know, eventalk to women. We haven't asked Waldo.
Well, do do you think thatIan should go and be of in
his case a seventh wheel? Isay go for it because I have friends

(17:42):
that are couples too, and usuallythe wife like, they love me just
as much as my buddy does,so I feel like they all want him
there, not just his friends.Yeah, you could be the friend that
you know. Basically they know youwill not get anybody in trouble. I
think that's the other cool reason whenwhen you getting invited by the significant others
and they're female, they like you, because usually when when a dude gets

(18:07):
together with somebody, she'll be like, I don't like that other friend of
yours anymore. Yeah, so theydig you a lot, and and I
look at it this way. Ibelieve Ian that you will find love before
Waldo. I'm going to put moneyon it. Sarah, you want to
put money on The coach is alwaysavailable to you. Send an email to
life Coach at kazyoka dot com.And the news is coming up. Jesse

(18:30):
Ventura making news back. The craziestthing that he's got up, uh planned
pardon me, I don't even knowwhat he's got up anywhere. I'm sure
it would be about his business sleeve. That's it. I hope it was
the sleeve you were thinking of.Here's this next kazy Okay glasicgroc All Day,
Bjshay and Cereah Mornings two point fiveone O, two point five two

(18:53):
five casey Okay, it's classic rockand Bjshay and Sarah Mornings. All right,
Sarah, we got your new what'sup? Well, there are tourists
returning to see Seattle. Oh,they're coming back all those people that are
going to mess up downtown exactly, and we are looking at ninety percent of
normal. So you know, obviouslyduring the oh travel Hall, this is

(19:15):
big news. It really really is, because I've said it before. You
know, Phoenix is a city citysimilar size to ours, bought the same
size people metropolitan area, and theydid not react to COVID the way we
did. So their economy has beenpretty awesome. So ninety percent is cool.
We want to be back to onehundred. We do well. The
biggest issue they said with visitors isthe international travel still isn't back up to

(19:38):
what it used to be, sointernational people coming into Seattle is still a
little bit lower. So that's atough thing that. You know, I
don't know anybody international going to Phoenixknow exactly what yeah that's going there.
It's is probably all the weirdo people. Today is the second busiest travel day
for spring break. It is todayand next Friday. So if you are
heading out to the airport, giveyourself a extra time because there are a

(20:00):
lot of people at the airport.I'm not going to do it then,
how I was going to go?They say, are busier too. I
was just going to go to theairport because I like to eat there.
I don't have anywhere to go.You're not weird, Nope. An alligator
found living at a former Coca colaplant in oh Florida has been put on
a diet to lose some of it'sover four hundred pounds. So here's what

(20:21):
happened. It's a nine foot alligator. Yeah, and he's living at the
coke plant. Yes, okay,And the neighborhood decided, hey, he's
pretty cute, let's feed him.Oh boy, So he got chonky and
everyone was just giving him lunch meat. They're throwing hams at him like he
was like a neighborhood pet. Yehsee. It just goes to show you,
man, there's something about us beings. We'll keep eating if you keep

(20:42):
feeding us. Don't let him goto the airport. No, that's why
I don't never bring my alligator tothe airport. You'll just eat everything.
Ricky Rocket is coming out with abook. I don't know who this is,
the guy from poison. Oh,that Ricky Rocket. His real name
is Richard Alan Reim. He's tosocial media. I wonder why he changed

(21:04):
it. That's a great last name, and probably for the role. If
it was in a different industry, maybe that would have been perfect. No
one would believe that was his realname. If he was in like porn
industry. No, it's called Babysittersfive starring Richard Ing. No too soon,
okay, he said he is comingout with a book. The book
is, of course about my life, but much about poison through my eyes.

(21:26):
What would you all really like toknow? Yeah, okay, I
mean look that if the guy wasin the guy's in the band, right,
yeah, so he should have somedirt. You better have some good
stories. Now that title was alreadytaken. Oh, you're right. Motley
Group had the dirt. So ishe going to have like the mud?
What's again, what's he gonna callit? Yeah, I'm sure that he's
got great stories. So we like, don't just give us the vanilla stuff,

(21:49):
give us the good stuff. Hey, I get it. He's with
poison, so he'll have the venom, not the dirt, but the vent
No, none of this is working. That's a bad right, thanks buddy.
Former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura is gettinginto the cannabis edible industry. Well
why not, Sean camp can't bethe only one in that business, Willie

(22:11):
Nelson. Yeah, so I'm justsaying he's not the only one in the
business. Ye, that's true. It's available for pre orders on Monday.
I don't know what the name is, but I was hoping it's I Ain't
got Tom to bleed. It's probablynot. It is. It is so
weird the people that get in thecannabis business that you just like, you

(22:32):
don't know that they're big cannabis fans, Like Willie Nelson makes sense. Snoop
Dogg would make sense. Sean campI didn't realize was such a big fan.
We hear a lot of athletes werehigh all the time. Yeah,
and it's how they managed stress orhow they managed the pain. A lot
of football players especially, so theyare like they're just high on time.

(22:52):
Yeah, well, and you know, and some of them got penalized,
which is so sad since some ofthe states were like, hey, it's
okay in the NFL's like sorry,it's not okay everywhere. So you're in
trouble and you're like, really,Ricky, what's his butt? His career
came to an end because he liked, Yeah, Ricky Waters, wasn't Williams?
Ricky Williams. Yeah, and whatabout Ricky Lake? How about her?

(23:12):
That was really affected? She couldn'tplay football anywhere after that. There's
a woman in England who did agood deed and is now getting mocked relentlessly.
What did she do? Over inEngland, they have hedgehogs. I
mean technically we have them here too, but they like they live in the
neighborhoods and they're out in the gardenand that's that's like they're squirrels. Yeah,

(23:33):
okay, So this woman in Englandsees an abandoned baby hedgehog and she's
so upset, so she gets shejust sees it there, and she goes
and gets a shoe box and sheuses a little top of the shoe box
to put the little, poor littlebaby in there because he's been abandoned.
Is she talking like this when it'shappening. It's a baby, he's a

(23:57):
hedgehole and he really needed a likeI feel like Angela Lansbury's in the room.
So she opens it up the nextday and it still has a moved.
So she takes it to the vetand she said, I just I
just kind of peeked at it becauseI didn't want to stress out those little
hedgehogs. She takes it to thevet and the vet says, lady,
that's the top of a hat. It's the palm like a pomp pom.

(24:19):
No, it was so it wasnot a living thing, and she thought
it was a baby hedgehog and itwas just a pomp pom. If you
look at it, you can kindof see why she made the mistake,
excepted the soft wool. Yeah, and it's not doesn't have any eyes or
face, and it's not moving.Have you ever seen a hedgehog? Uh?
Not in real life. No,it's like all the prickly things and
then its nose and its eyes andeverything are kind of like underneath. You

(24:41):
can't really see it. You can'tsee I I've seen the hedgehogs with the
I've seen their face. I've seentheir faces where they hit from a horror
movie trying to heat you. I'velived it, Sarah. I have a
brand new beer blog up at kazyokdot co. Bj You know we are

(25:02):
all on social Yes, we are. As a matter of fact. You
can get me on Facebook, thereal Bjsha at bjsha everywhere else and Waldo
Waldo Magic on everything. And Ifeel really bad saying this, but you
were very mean to him earlier. What to Waldo? Yeah? What did
I do to Waldo? I feellike I treat him like I always do.
He said he was going to besingle for forever. Oh yeah,

(25:22):

from him. I was just hopingthat maybe, like someone will hit him
on at Waldo Magic. Oh.I see what you're saying, is you

your lives better. There's like apills, there's an I PA, there's

fact? Oh? What do wegot? Some excellent facts about Easter?

(26:29):
Okay? You know what you youknow? No, Okay, Easter is
on Sunday. The holiday was namedafter the Anglo Saxon goddess. Oh Stray,
Oh Stray. Oh I was sowas Estra e O s t r
E. Well, I mean,I don't know if ostray is the right
pronunciation. I thought I thought Estrawas the one we named it after,
like the Wickan or something. Butno, e O s t r e.

(26:53):
Yeah, you might, oh Stray. The Easter bunny thing, though,
got started Inmany and there's no realconnection to this religious holiday. Oh.
Now, you know it's interesting becauseI read somewhere it was a Pennsylvania
Dutch thing. Well, who camefirst Germany or the Pennsylvania Dutch. I
don't know the German people who thenmoved to America and brought it with them.

(27:14):
Oh okay, fair enough, Isuppose then. And they say pretzels
actually got their start at Easter becausethe twist was meant to look like somebody
in prayer. Oh, so wehave the Germans to thank for lots of
things having to do with Easter. The pretzel supposed to be a prayer thing.
It's the shape of it. Oh, it was made for Easter.
Totally missed that. I love pretzels, They're so good, and I pray
get some more. Americans spend abouttwo billion dollars on Easter candy. Okay,

(27:37):
second biggest candy holiday too. Valentine'sDay, No Christmas Day, No
where do we eat the most candy? Oh? Helloween. I forgot all
about Halloween. But you know what, just got candy on Valentine's Yeah,
I'm but just more on Halloween.Seventy percent of Easter candy purchase is chocolate
chocolate. Two billion peeps are madeeach year because people like peeps. Yeah,

(28:02):
that's the only thing that's weird.A billion you said too, was
two billion peeps mayde a year.Doesn't mean people eat them. That is
two billion things in the landfill.Sixteen billion jelly beans are produced in the
United States each year, and redis the most popular colors flavor. That's
the power color. But it's cherry, is it cherry grape ones? I

(28:22):
like the purple ones. You likethe purple ones? Tell me this?
Yes, what would you like toknow? Black jelly beans? Yeay r
ina? Are they liquorice flavored?Yes? Yeah, well black licorice flavored.
See. The only liquorice I likeis good and plenty, So I
say no, But good and plentyis black licorice? I know, but
jelly bean black liquorice isn't the sameas good and plenty black licorice still ate

(28:44):
that well, good and plenty. That's because you don't know good food.
Waldoer, Were you a yay rnaon the black jelly bean? I am
a yay in moderation like half ofold jelly bean? Yeah, how do
you moderate a jelly bean? Yousay, hello, jelly bean. Well,
you can impress your friends with allthese amazing facts you learned right here

favorite things about Fridays Waldo's movie reviews. Is that really one of our favorite
things. He's listening? Just sayyes, I can't. I'm a person
of truth. Got some big moviesopening up this weekend, bj oh Dewey,
Yeah, okay, and Waldo willtell us what is fresh? What
is rotten? That's after Stone TuplePilots on one O two point five kz

(34:22):
okay, Classic Rock All Day BJHAand Sere Mornings one O two point five
kzy okay, the classic rock station. What's on the league screen? Why
not ask Waldo? Why not askWaldo? He's got his finger on the
pulse. I really would like torephrase that question. He's got his finger
on the pulse of rotten tomatoes. He will tell you what is fresh,
what is rotten? What is worthyour time? Okay? Fine, I

(34:45):
know you like going to the movies. Bj don't you want to know?
I really do. Uh, AndI mean, yeah, I suppose Waldo's
been right most of the time aboutit. Well, it's it's Rotten Tomatoes.
Yeah, all right, let's findout open up this weekend. Godzilla
Kong, that new empire. Ohokay, I didn't expect this so soon.
Yes, this latest entry into theMonster Verse franchise. PG. Thirteen,

(35:09):
Godzilla versus Kong. They are againsteach other and then there's a hidden
threat in the world challenging our veryexistence. I am so confused about these
Godzilla Kong movies because I watched youknow, I watched the Godzilla movie which
harkened back to or maybe it wasthe TV series I can't remember, because
there was a monarch that was onApple TV plus. Okay that harkened back

(35:32):
to the John Goodman Godzilla movie thatWill Take King Kong movie that was made,
so they were kind of connecting thetwo. So I don't know if
this is part of that. I'mso confused. Well, wald what are
the reviewers over Rotten Tomatoes saying aboutthis new Godzilla cong movie? Godzilla and
King Kong are reunited and feels sogood? Oh god no, they're back

(35:54):
baby, and these giant Beasts havea giant audience score of ninety three percent.
Whoa oh audience score. Oh,the critics think it's pretty monster ris
fifty six percent rotten. Interesting.Wow, So the audience really loves it
and the critics are close to likingit. So it's close to fresh,

(36:15):
but still rotten. I think thereviewer said, meh yeah. Also opening
up in the Land of Saints andSinners, Liam Neeson is back. I
have a certain set of movies exactly. This one's a little bit different.
Ireland in the nineteen seventies. He'seager to leave his dark past behind him.
Finn bar Murphy, Liam Neeson,Uh huh Lee. It's a quiet

(36:37):
life in a remote village until it'snot so quiet anymore. And he's got
to show everybody a set of skills. No, never guess what happens.
But I'm over here to having apint, and I told him I have
a certain set of glasses. Inthe Land of Saints and Sinners, Waldo
Rotten Tomato says, what, Ican't do the voice as well as you,
but I have a very particular setof skills, skills that make me

(36:58):
very good at making a good butnot great movie, seventy fresh. That
accent was, that impression was,I was spot on. You know what,
I'm never going to do mine again, Waldo, I can't do mine
again? After that greatness? Thankyou? Was? What was their score
again? Seventy eight, which isdistracted. It's not bad, he said,

(37:19):
a good but not great movie. He's right, I mean, seventy
eight is good, not great.I mean I can't really fault him for
having realized that he is a latein life action star. Yeah, but
like, really, how many likeis this? Like? Eight? Nine,
ten? They keep paying him themoney. Why did they make him
the new James Bond? That wouldhave been hysterical just for a joke before
they gave it to Aaron Taylor,Cougar, Mellon Camp Johnson, I love

(37:42):
that idea. Should have just madeit, Liam. They say that would
be the best April Fool's Day joke. They should have gone for it.
Yeah, I agree. Man justwaited a little while to give us the
news about Bond, and then boom. I have a certain set of Bond
movies I'm doing. Dog Man isopening up and it's an R rated drama
good Man, dog Man. It'sa mystery thriller from Luke messol Oh,

(38:04):
that's the guy that gave us afifth element? Huh, and other movies
that people don't like. But lafemNa Keitha though people did like that.
That was a great movie. Aman finds salvation through the love of his
dogs. Okay, dog Man,dog Man? Didn't John Wick do this
like four times? Oh well, his movies are hit or miss, Waldo,
dog Man, hit or miss.If I've learned anything from doing these

(38:25):
reviews over the years, it's thatif you want to make a good movie,
you need dogs. Marley and Meone hundred one Dalmatians, even John
Wick. Yes, and now thismovie ninety six percent audience scores, sixty
three percent critics. Okay, soit's barely fresh, barely yeah, but
the audience loves it. Okay becauseit's probably like it. Like Waldo said,
he's got dogs, so audience aregonna love it. Hold on to

(38:47):
your hat. Yes, Winnie thePooh, Blood and Honey Too is coming
out. You're really gonna okay.Deep within the one hundred acre would a
destructive rage grows as Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Owl, and Tigger.
I'm their home and lives endangered afterChristopher Robin revealed their existence. Not wanting
to live in the shadows anymore, they go on a murderous trail. Of
course they too, mayhem, bloodall left in their wake. Oh bother,

(39:14):
it's a horror movie. Winnie thePooh, Blood and Honey two waldo.
The reviewers are saying, what,Winnie is definitely living up to his
name in this one fifty two percentrotten, surprisingly eighty one percent audience.
People like these movies. Yeah,I mean it, just the concept is
enough to grab you. It's likeCocaine Bear. Yeah, you know,

(39:34):
the concept's enough to just let mejust watch this silly movie about this ridiculous
concept. Wait, this is thesecond one, and they're coming out with
the whole poonaverse. Yes, andit's all going to be Pooh in that
universe. All right, it's timefor listeners on the loose. This is
where you get to pick the topic, You get to guide the show.

we want to walk around t Mobile, because there's so many great places to
go, and Waldo and I areon the hunt for the new double Mitch
Witch. Yes, the new sandwichcelebrating the meat of that doesn't celebrated meat
of Mitch. It does, though. It's like the meat that Mitch Garver,
our new Mitch likes, and ofcourse the meat of our returning Mitch

I got a lot of people thatI know. All right, fine,
Nancy and Mount Vernon. Are youcalling about the Mariners as well?
Nancy? Yeah, I hope theywin. Yeah. So yeah, yeah
that was that was tough last night. Yeah, yeah, it was.

It was, but you know, anyway, I just wanted to call and
say they have a great weekend andhappy eat sharing. Yeah, go Mariner
Mariner, thank you, Nancy. She's right. I mean it was a
good game. I mean the Mariners, you know, never led, but
it always looked like they were onthe comeback trail. And of course I
told Rich, the big sportsy guy, go yeah, it's gonna be.

(43:12):
We were both like, it's below scoring, probably not a lot of
home runs, and of course Ithink there were four home runs hit last
night, ten runs scored, andit's like, you know, I'm like,
yeah, you really shouldn't listen tome about baseball. We had a
talk back in response to our lifecoach question earlier. Someone said alecxis and
to talk back to one on twopoint five k's okay. Amanda called earlier
in the week and wanted help onLife Coach about how to get out of

(43:36):
being on a wedding of a brideand groom she didn't like. Oh right,
the answer seems simple, sleep withthe groom. Oh yeah, that's
a good way to go about becauseif you want it, because she because
she really felt like the groom wasn'tright for her friend. So one way
to prove that is to go,see, he won't even be faithful to

(43:59):
you because I up with them.Yeah brilliant, Yeah, I mean yes,
you know. I mean I don'tknow how your friends is going to
do after that, but at leastyou saved her, and that's a true
friendship move. Nothing says friendship likesleeping with the fiance. Yeah, think
you know what, Sometimes you gottatake one for the team. We have
a lot more talkbacks, your texts, and we are still taking your calls
at eight hundred two five two oneo two five. More Listeners on the

(44:22):

Seattle's classic rock station. What doI think? Time to have your say?

We got some sad news earlier inthe show passing of Hollywood Legend. James
and boffel Is calling about that.Good morning, James, up, Good

(45:07):
morning James, James. Yeah, good poor Your show came on on the
air at six. I was watchingChannel thirteen and boom right there. Yeah,
sometime last night, Lucas Junior atthe age of eighty seven. Oh,
passed away. They didn't give anydetails, as you know, how

(45:30):
or why, but because he waseighty seven eighty seven, I mean he
says he lived a long life.Officer and a gentleman. He was in
right Enemy, Yeah, Iron Eagle. Yeah, oh, Iron Eagle,
right, the punisher. I forgot. Oh he wasn't the punisher. He
was in Iron Eagle too as well. Oh look at that. Well thanks

(45:52):
to let's know, James. Yeah, that's uh, I mean eighty seven.
I feel like when your life expectancyis like in the seventies, which
most of us guys are. Soyou know, he got to live a
nice long life. Hopefully he didn'tsuffer since James said, they didn't give
us any info. But uh so, lou gossip, jun you passed away
eighty seven years old. Last night, first black man to win a Supporting

(46:13):
Actor Best Supporting Actor. Oh really, oh, okay, which is a
big thing. Definitely. Brent inPort Townsend, you were on Live with
Bjsha and Sarah on Kazy Okay,Brent, Hey, good morning guys.
What a beautiful day to be inthe North left there, Yeah, that's
for sure. Yeah, or inCanada, a, we're close enough.
I live in southern Canada, you'rein Port Townsend. There we go.

(46:37):
So the question of that I'm worriedis is there any strange and unusual things
that you see in your commune thatyou just can't look away from. Like
one of my neighbors have life sizestatues of children on the front porch and
they changed their clothes like every day, and I really look away, but
I can't help myself. Not thatit's so weird, but it could be

(47:00):
tragic. Like I don't know.I don't want to make fun of those
folks, because I would, I'dbe like, I over go, what
are you people doing with these stupidlittle children? They have the clothes,
and then they'll go, well, those are our children we had and we
lost them in a very bad accident, and like, oh god, do
you know is it a tragedy orare they just weird? Knock on the

(47:22):
door statu Yeah, I think youowe it to America or at least the
Puget Sound. You have to knockon the door and find out for us.
You know, when you go overthe Fremont Bridge, so you're on
the Seattle side and you go overthe bridge and there is the uh interurban

(47:42):
stop and they have the people.Oh, they always get like and they
always do stuff to them. Yes, yeah, And if you don't know
what I'm talking about, we soundreally perverse right now. We don't do
stuff to them like they don't.They don't grope them or mall them,
but they will put like adornments ordecorations sometimes closed, yes, and put
stuff on them, the ones rightbefore the JP patches, Yes, sculpture
thing. And I don't want totell you what they do the JP Patrick
sculptures because that's I mean, that'sjust wrong. But it's just people like

(48:05):
kind of having fun with it.Like if it's Irish Day, Saint Patrick's
Friday is really kicking in Happy IrishDay. I can't wait till we get
to I can't get to get theBaby Jesus Day. That would be great,
and then after that we're we getthe Spooky Day, Spooky Day days
before Baby Jesus Day, but they'lllike put them in green shirts. Yes,

(48:27):
because it's for Irish Day. Greatfor Irish Day. You are you
are, You're on the top ofyour game. I want to talk back.
Yes, I think it was Janisis Alexa send a talk back to
Casey. Okay, Yes, it'sJamais over here in Ken Moore. I
love you guys, the show isgreat. I just wanted to know if
you figured out if Lucky Jeans doessay lucky me on the inside of the

(48:52):
flock, it doesn't thank you forbringing that back up because you said it
did in yours, right, Somine says something. I wasn't wearing them.
A texture said it says lucky me. Lucky yeah. And I found
out. I've had Lucky Jeans fora while. I bought them maybe I
don't know, not too long ago, but I've had them for a while.
And I just noticed in the bathroom. I don't know why, but

(49:14):
I just noticed it said lucky youinside the zipper, meaning when it says
lucky you. Whoever, if you'reever in you know, sexy time and
a person is taking off the jeans, they get to go, oh,
look at that. It's a nicemessage for them, lucky you. You're
about to have sexy time. I'msetting myself for reminder to check. I've
said, somebody told us if youlook on the other side of that,

(49:35):
it says lucky me. But Idon't have that. My jeens just say
lucky you. But how could itsay it on the outside, because then
we'd all see it on you. It's it's when you on the inside of
the outside. So there's a there'sa zipper part. If you pull it
to the left, there's the insidersituation, and then you get to see
the inside. I think, right, I'm going to stop looking there.
I will check my jeans when Iget home. Yeah, okay. Or

(49:57):
maybe it's the inside flap that whenthe zipper comes down. There's a little
flat aage, not nothing to tellthe jeens, geens, Sarah, a
little flappage. Okay, you knowwhat, Why don't you go celebrate Irish
Day. Robert also left the talkback for us. Alrighty, good morning,
this Richard out in Maple Valley.I just wanted to Robert, it's
my two cents on the funniest movieof all time that should have been top

(50:17):
of the list, raising Arizona,Nick Cage and his finest performance set the
Cohen Brothers. My name's h Amadona. I call that. Yeah, it's
a good one. It is itraised in Arizona, Holly Hunter, right,
yes, yeah, And I believeit's the Cohen Brothers. It's one
of the brothers. It's like, you know, there's a set of brothers

(50:38):
that make movies. I believe it'sthe Coen Brothers. And here's what I
want to know, though, whatdo you want to know that? Remember
we told our customer service director, which, by the way, wald just
no longer the phone screener. Ohyes, I forgot that something else all
day the consultants, Chang said thatfrom now on he's the customer service director.
I guess that'll make us stars. And also what they said that would

(50:59):
make us stars in this town isif people would say they like us.
And Waldo's supposed to tell people todo that, and nobody's doing that.
Nobody likes us Waldo does nobody likeus? Are you telling them that they
like us? Did? Yeah? That it was the only one. What
about the rest of them? Theyall have to say it? Wal Do
you know how those guys were Remembera caffeine boy and a Hawaii boy.

(51:21):
Both of them were like hey man, and that was like hey, and
they were like, you got toget people to like you, all right?
New rule? If you leave atalk back on the iHeartRadio app,
you have to say you like usor it won't be played. Oh wow,
that's not very customer service, misterdirector. Sure you like you like
the customer service enforcer. Now whatabout the people that call live? Are

(51:43):
you telling them I'm trying to I'mtrying to you. Let me let me
est Tony and Capusen. You're onlive, BJSA and Sarah on CAZy.
Okay, what's the first thing thatWaldo has told you to say? You
guys a best? Yeah? Ohwow, Walda, that's saved because he
just shouldn't see a look at hisface. He was His face was white,

(52:06):
like I'm about to be found out. Yeah, Walmost telling nobody anything.
Waldo's not telling anybody at things.Waldos try to take over this show
because Sarah, if we don't dowhat we're told, Waldo figures he's gonna
slide in once they say, getout both of you for not paying it
to You know that that's not right. I just got a text, let's
see from Kenny in Seattle and saidthe CGI gore in movies today is garbage.

(52:28):
The stuff from Scanners was amazing.BJ asked for you and Sarah.
I absolutely love you, guys.Love the show and Waldo too, well,
thank you. I don't slow scannersdown, That's all I would say.
I did that do that well?Because I was I wanted to see
the head go like, what didthey do? How did they make that
happen? You know, because itwas a power I remember in the theater
going oh my god. But thenI slowed it down. I was like,

(52:50):
Oh, that looks kind of fair. Don't ever do that. Okay,
the problem I you know, Iwanted to tell you, lastly,
for listeners on the loose Happy Friday, BJ, I'm throwing a geek penalty
flag for a knowledge infraction over theBlue Milk from Star Wars. Well,
yeah, because I totally messed thatup. Yes you did. Then he
said, love you brothers. Tellthe consultants. I love the show,
Waldo and Sarah, you guys areawesome. Scottie from Kent, I forgot

(53:14):
that. I totally forgot the blueMilk scene when you know Lukes sitting at
the table with Aunt Frew and UncleOwen and he's like, oh, I
want to go join the day andhe's like, oh maybe if you do
more farming. Kid, She's justlike, oh, you can't leave him
here all the time. He's aboy once ago and be like his father
and turn it through the dark sideand all that stuff. And they were
having blue milk the whole time. But I was thinking that was the green

(53:37):
crap that he had in Last, the Last star the Last star Fighter,
No, the Last, but theLast. Do you remember when Luke was
like jumping from mount and mouth andhe was like jumping like from cliff to
cliff, milking these little creatures andhe was drinking stuff, escorting himself with
a face like a really bad differentmovie, I know, but it was

the beginning of the Mariners game yesterday? What happened at the beginning? Great

(54:42):
moment. Nelson Cruz signed a oneday deal. Yeah, I almost said
one year, which I mean hecould probably still play one day deal to
retire as a Mariner, and throughoutthe ceremonial first pitch, Yeah, it
was a really cool moment, andKing Felix was there to catch it,
and I think he said he intentionallyspiked the ball when he threw out there,
so it was like he just immediatelyjust drilled it right into the ground.

(55:04):
They were both a great spirits, look like they really both dug each
other. And they were up inthe booth talking with the guys from Root
Sports during a couple of innings.Really cool moment, it was. Unfortunately
the Maritors lost six to four.Oh, they'll turn it around today six
