excited to talk with you because, one, like I said,
you're a music legend, but two, you have this insane
longevity and you have a new album coming out on Friday.
Tell fans what they can expect from this album. What's

The new album is full of love. I've done it
with my family, and I think that's palpable. I think
you can actually hear that in the performance and in
the way that the album sounds. I know that I'm
very proud of it. It feels good to me. I'm
happy with it.

in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, you have
a song in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Is there
anything on your wish list, like something that you would

So much that I just look forward to playing music
and being out there in the world, playing for my fans,
playing for audiences, and continuing to have a musical life
that's also surrounded with love from my family.

Okay, I mean that's great. Well, speaking of baseball, as
I said, a song in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Obviously that song is center Field. It's a song people
of all ages know because it's played at the ballpark.
So people who are children, people who are my age,
your age. For people who don't know the history of
that song, where did that inspiration come from? And are
you a lifelong baseball fan?

Oh? Yeah, I grew up loving baseball. My dad would
talk about Babe Ruth and the Yankees when I was
a little kid. Of course, we didn't have any make
league teams on the West Coast. We had minor league teams,
the San Francisco Seals and the Oakland Oaks. My brother, Jim,

my oldest brother, was when he was young, was a
bat boy for the Oakland Oaks. So you know, we
were pretty involved in baseball that way. And I just
grew up loving, uh, the symphony of baseball, you know
that it kind of plays out at its own tempo
and there's so many statistics you know, going back historically.

I just love all that stuff.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
So I'm the fact that I one day wrote a
song that was about baseball was just a nice addition
to my musical life.

helping with homework and that sort of thing.
