Wiba Madison in the morning and askthe experts. Hanging out this morning in
studio with Amanda Alexander with Legacy Exteriors. Amanda, how are you doing this
morning? And great, it's goodto see you. Bet, it's good
to have you. Beat, goodto talk with you. And uh,
we've got We've got a fun conversationahead. We're going to talk about four
season sunrooms and who this type ofyear to look at a day like today
(00:26):
is going to be a beautiful one. Who doesn't love to talk about four
season sunrooms. We'll talk about those, talk about some of the features,
but one of the areas too,Amanda, that was that maybe new new
to folks, and I don't thinkwe've talked about it in the show,
which is I think a lot oftimes our assumption is if we're going to
do a four season sunroom, we'regoing to need to start fresh. We're
gonna either need to have an areaat it, or if there is something,
(00:50):
we'll have to remove and start fresh. You were telling me before the
show, a lot of folks thatare contacting you are already they already have
the existing patio or an existing kindof sun room, and they're saying,
you know what, we want toupgrade this. You guys can work with
that as well, can't you.Yeah. Absolutely. I mean we get
a lot of calls where it mightnot even I mean it might be a
(01:10):
new build, a brand new build, where they just wish they would have
enclosed that porch, you know, there's a screen porch or just a big
open space, and we can justgo right into that space and measure and
basically make custom walls and enclose that. And that's and that's such a cool
feature too, is you know youmentioned if you have that that space and
maybe you know you built the newhouse and you say, well, we
want obviously want to patty you onthe back. You've been there a couple
(01:34):
of years and you're saying, youknow what, we could really use a
little extra space, additional space forentertaining or you know, just kind of
spend some time after work relaxing aroundthe weekends. It's a it's a great
option for folks. I mean,it really is, like I said before,
just ads that extra living space thatpeople wish they had, especially when
it's nice out and you know Wisconsin, sometimes those temperatures still drop cooler in
(01:56):
the evenings, so they still wantto be outside, but don't want those
chilly nights. Stalking this morning withAmanda Alexander. She's with Legacy Exteriors.
The website legaciedash exteriors dot com. That's Legacy Dash Exteriors dot com. There
telephone number six O eight two twoone three thousand, that's two two one
three thousand for Legacy Exteriors. Goingto talk about four season sunrooms this morning
primarily, and let's talk Amanda aboutjust kind of an overview of four season
(02:21):
sunrooms. People are familiar with thename, we not always know all the
different features. Very customizable as youwere mentioning there, and there's a lot
of really really cool options for everytype of Hallmark there. I mean they
really are. We can do threeseason, four season. We can even
just start with a nice screen porch, and then if you want to add
on that those windows down the road, we can come in later and fit
(02:43):
those windows for that space. Soit's a more of a budget friendly option
right from the get go. AndI will say, like even it doesn't
have to be a new construction,it doesn't have to be you know,
anything, it can be anything thatwe come in and work with. So
we try to start as budget friendlyas possible with your structure. So we'll
(03:04):
check the footings. If the footingsare you know, if you have a
deck you're already working with in thefootings pass code, we will work with
that structure. UM. If thefooting code is you know, there's no
records, then we're going to startfresh fit of it for good and for
good reason. On that too.In the other area you mentioned um UM
not just new homes, but olderhomes. The other great thing about four
Seasons is um it doesn't matter thestyle, doesn't matter the age of the
(03:25):
home. There is whatever the youknow, the options are there to really
tie it into whatever type of homeyou have, whether it's the ranch or
the you know, the split levelor anything. You guys have something that's
going to fit with all different designsand all different types of UM sighting in
other areas as well, are don'tyou Absolutely? And that's one thing I
love about us being able to customizethese rooms is four Seasons offers an excellent
(03:49):
product for us to start as kindof our base. You know, it's
a quicker bill than a traditional twoby four room. And then what we
can do is tie in that, you know, matching siding along the bottom,
or you know, if you're ifwe're tying into a ranch, we
are absolutely going to build a gableand tie in your cricket and shingle that.
Now we will shingle the whole sunroomrough too, to match the home
(04:10):
as best as we can to thoseexisting shingles. So we're going to try
to make this structure look like it'spart of your home that's always been there
and that's supposed to be there, that looks it's It's amazing what you're able
to do. And we'll talk toabout the technology for people say, I
wonder what these would look on myhouse. You've got some really amazing technology
on your phone and some other thingsyou can show people not only from the
outside, but from the projected insideas well. We'll talk really cool we'll
(04:33):
talk about that. I just wantto I want to go through the timeline
a little bit about kind of howthe design process works and then when we
get into building, how long ittakes from finalizing design concepts to actually having
a structure. Let's start out withthat early on timeline. People saying I've
been thinking about it, they callto make an appointment. Where does it
go from there? Yeah, ifyou're thinking about it, please just give
(04:54):
us a call. We can getover there within a couple of days.
Usually it's to set up just thatprimary. So I'll come in, we'll
do some measurements, look at kindof what your goal is for that space,
and then sit down right at thetable with you that day and design
your room. You'll be able tosee a pretty detailed, you know,
rendering of what that room could looklike. We can move doors and windows,
(05:15):
you know, you'll be able tosee which way everything opens. Um,
it's a really interactive program. Andthen if you want to see that
in a three D we'll just goahead and create a QR code I'm a
computer and then we just scan thatwith our phone and the app just you
know, projects that kind of onthe You hold your phone up and you
can look around and just see howthat would look like inside and out.
That is very cool. Are youable to And I know this because uh,
(05:40):
you know, we get a chanceto talk a little bit before the
show. I know you you're you'rethe type of person that connects with people
very very well. Are you?Are you at these at these kind of
home assessments, kind of getting nolifestyle a little bit as well. So
when you're thinking about maybe some ideasfor how to design this space, talking
with the people and kind of gettingto know, you know, how do
they entertain? Are they Are theythe type of people maybe they've got little
(06:01):
kiddos that they want a particular style, or maybe they're maybe they're older people
are saying, you know what wewant, we want it done a particular
way. Do you do you workwith people and get to know them a
little bit about their personality and lifestyleas well. Yeah. Absolutely. I
would say there's a couple different kindsof people that are looking for syndrooms.
There's the people who want the coffeedrinking room in the morning, and then
there's the people who want to hosttheir friends in the evening. Some of
(06:23):
them are both. Yeah, absolutely, And I actually have a customer that
I'm working with that we actually communicatepretty regularly because she's looking for that perfect
piece of furniture to be her youknow, her bar along that inside feature
wall. So now I love gettingto know people and what they're going to
use that room for. It reallyactually does help with the design element it'll
(06:44):
help us know, like what isthe most efficient way to design this room
to help you live your life assmoothly as possible. So how you're entering
and exiting the yard. If youhave pets that need to come in in
a certain area, you know we'regoing to move that door away from the
inside wall, so you're you knowyour three dogs have lots of room in
and out. And it really isnice to get to know people and picture
(07:05):
them using that room. Talking thismorning with Amanda Alexander with Legacy Exteriors the
website Legacy Dash Exteriors dot com.The important thing to do today is pick
up the phone, give McCall they'dlove to talk to even think about doing
a sunroom, doing an addition onyour home again. The four season is
an amazing product, some really greatoptions, some great features with the different
models there as well. You canlearn more mentioned on the website Legacy Dash
(07:27):
Exteriors dot com. More importantly, this morning, they'll pick up phone,
give a call six away two twoone three thousand. That's two two one
three thousand. So working through thattimeline, talk a little bit about design.
Once we're kind of settled and dependingon I'm guessing. Depending on the
person, that can can vary.I know some people are very decisive and
I want to do this, thisand this boom on our Others say,
I want to kind of weigh differentoptions. What you kind of get through
(07:49):
the design process? How long isthe timeline then from finalizing those design plans
to getting started to completion? Yeah, I would say, um, once
we have that design element and soactually taking it one step further. Sometimes
we also have to help with thelike the HOA, like homeowners associations have
a lot of input to so thatcould affect the timeline a little bit.
(08:09):
So we will provide whatever information youneed to present that to the HOA.
It might be a rough pitch needsto match the existing you know, the
existing home, or we have theseexact sighting pieces of you know, colors
that we need to use. Soonce we get all that figured out and
we get a contract, you know, going um, it's usually within a
week or so you'll get a finalmeasurement taken and then we'll place the order
(08:30):
for that room and get your materialsall ordered. Right now, we're currently
looking into the fall for installation forany new new rooms that are coming on
board. We have a couple installationcrews that are you know, it's very
excited to be part of this andready to go. So perfect time too.
By the way, think about likeas we start to get towards the
end of summer and night's get alittle cooler, getting your getting your new
four seasons sun room on the house. Today is a day to pick up
(08:52):
phone game A call six away twotwo one three thousand. That's two two
one three thousand, Get on thatschedule. Do that today. Let's talk
about materials and a little bit aboutfor folks that may have picked up when
it comes to when it comes tothis stuff, there's a we're not talking
about you know, stuff that's rightoff. We're talking about purpose built,
(09:13):
high standard, high quality materials thatare put into these rooms, aren't there.
Yeah, yeah, So the allthe framing is made from aluminum with
titanium dioxide infused within it, soit's designed for strength, durability, easy
maintenance. And as you know, the glass comes from Cardinal here and in
spring Green, Wisconsin, so weit's called Conserva Glass NXT. And there's
(09:35):
additional layer, you know, layerafter layer of these coatings, so that
creates a stay clean technology. Soyou combine that aluminum framing with that stay
clean technology window and they are designedto be a very low maintenance room for
homeowners. And who doesn't love thatyou can actually enjoy the weather wind exactly,
not out there with a squeegee. That is great stuff. This morning
(09:58):
talking with Amanda from Legacy ex earsonline, Legacy dash Exteriors dot com.
That's Legacy Dash Exteriors dot com.Dolphin number six O two two one three
thousand. Make those phones ring thismorning, Say hi to Nikki, she'd
love to hear from you. SixO A two two one three thousand gets
you on the schedule, exeg you'rea conversation with Matta. We'll talk a
little bit more about four season sunrooms, some of the specific design types and
(10:18):
some of the again, they cando just about anything for you when it
comes to the four season, butwe'll talk about some of the more popular
models and some of the more populardesign features. We will do that next
as Ask the Experts with Legacy Exteriorscontinues right here at thirteen ten Wiba ten
(10:41):
wiba and ask you the Experts.Talking this morning with Amanda Alexander of Legacy
Exteriors, talking four season Sunrooms. If you haven't checked out four season sunrooms
and all the great things they cando for you at Legacy Exteriors, you
can learn more on their website Legacydash Exteriors dot com. That's Legacy Dash
Exteriors dot com. As mentioned though, today is to day to pick up
phone give them a call six Oeight two two one three thousand. That's
six O eight two two one threethousand. And I know, Amanda,
(11:05):
one of the big things when Joshis here, we talk about with every
aspect of what you guys do atLegacy Exteriors. We talk quality, we
talk training, we talk reputation, but we also talk customization. And when
it comes to the four season sunrooms, we've got you've got everything. You've
got customization for just about every typeof scenario. Yeah. So not only
can we customize the shape of theroom to make sure it's fitting onto your
(11:26):
existing structure exactly, you know, like it should, we can also take
your personality inside the room and workon that back wall and that ceiling treatment.
So most of the room is glassand windows, so there's not much
we can do for those interior, you know, those walls, but what
we can do is pull the sightingoff of that inside wall of your home,
you know that where the house actuallyis, and do some nice tongue
(11:48):
and groove pine or really do anice wood feature on the ceiling too.
Oh that's great, And it wasagain and that was an area that I
guess I hadn't thought about. Isyou know, when you're adding that addition,
what's going to go on with thewall and having that the capability to
make something make it feel more connected, flow better, make it feel more
like a like an enclosed space ratherthan having we got signing. Signing is
(12:11):
great found on the outside on theinsighting ideas you mentioned the ceiling as well,
is doing different different types of customizationthere. You mentioned some wood options.
What else is up there? Yeah, so if we if we just
leave it as is, you'll geta really nice finish. It's it is
the aluminum panels that the room comesin. So it does give you a
(12:31):
nice clean white ceiling look with thealuminum panels if you want that more of
a I don't even want to usethe word rustic, but just like a
nice finished, personalized look. Wecan do a tongue in groove any kind
of wood on the ceiling too thatcan be painted or stained. All that
is amazing. It sounds like it'sjust beautiful. And I love seeing the
pictures online as well. Check themout Legacy Dash Exteriors dot com even better.
(12:54):
Pick up phone Gamma Call six soa two two one three thousand.
That's two two one three thousand. And we talk about some of the different
UM more more popular, and Iknow there's a bunch of different options,
but some of the more popular spaces. UM, the pergol is very popular.
The life rooms are wildly popular.UM. What are some of the
features too. Let's start off withthe with the life room and what some
of the are some of those featuresthat? Why are they so popular?
(13:16):
What makes people really gravitate towards thosespaces? I think the life room is
just so cool because it's basically,we're building. We're in a very short
amount of time. We're building acovered porch on your back, you know,
or wherever you want it. Actually, we can do a freestanding one
and you know, finish the walloff for you. Um. But however,
when that, you know, whenyou want those screens down, those
screens come down and you're free ofbugs or whatever. It is that you're
(13:37):
protecting yourself from it. So wecan do skylights, we can do you
know, custom lighting around the interior. Um. Those screens are retractable and
we don't when you don't want tosee those screens. They're just up and
away, rolled up into the frameof the life room. So those are
a beautiful option, um for justbeing able to live outdoors and then close
it off. We can actually installa like a heating element onto your the
(14:01):
side of your home too, sowhen those screens are dropped down, um,
it will maintain that temperature for quitea while. Yeah. So it's
a nice solid, heavy duty screen, which some people really like to step
it up a notch and make oneof those screens white and then you can
do a movie night out there. It's a protector screen. You can watch
games out there. Yeah. Yeah, the man cave can move to the
(14:22):
port, Yes it can. Oh, that is absolutely fantastic. What about
two when we talk about, um, you know, the durability and the
type of construction I think of likeif you have like maybe a bar,
restaurant kind of place, or youknow, retail commercials type of things.
Um, do you get do youget commercial calls as well, people saying,
you know what we've got. Um, you know you mentioned to the
having the TV. We've got,we've got this space. We'd like to
(14:45):
add something like that. You guys, you get calls and we do what
we do. And you know whatI love about these structures is they are
made to be heavy duty structures. They're maintenance you know, loaded, maintenance
free material. Um. They haveboth the pergola and the Life from Heaven
in great a gutter system. SoI mean, the elements are not an
issue. A lot of people doask about the snowloads and you know,
the wind and rain. Every productthat four Seasons offers is designed for the
(15:11):
region that it's in. So wedo one hundred and ten miles per hour
windspeed, we do thirty pounds persquare foot of snowload. We're set for
Wisconsin. There are and today isthe day to pick up the phone.
As we're talking this morning about thefour season sunrooms. Enjoy the summer,
enjoy the spring, enjoy the fall, enjoy the year, enjoy being outdoors
(15:31):
and of course in the comfort offour season sunroom installed by Legacy Exteriors.
Today's to day to pick up phone, give him a call six OA two
two one three thousand. That's twotwo one three thousand. The website Legacy
dash exteriors dot com. That's Legacydash Exteriors dot com. Amanda and the
crew would love to come out takea look at your property and help you
with that real quick. We've gotjust about a minute left demanded. We
(15:52):
talked about the technology, and that'sone of the great things too, is
you are able to really give people. I don't think people and I do
a horrible job of describe it,but the VR thing you have on your
phone is that is amazingly impressive toget to see and feel the space before
it's actually built. It really is. And we have a couple, you
know, a couple different options whenyou do that. We can just do
a tabletop version where we can spinit around and you just kind of get
(16:15):
that outside view, or you know, we can, like I said,
hold it up to the phone likewe're walking through the room, and I
think, you know, that's thepeople who don't have that visual eye.
It's the first opportunity they get tosee what their space could actually look like.
So it's so cool to watch peoplewalking around, you know, with
the phone pointing it up into thisguy looking at the ceiling, and its
accurate enough that where there is abeam in the wall, you can walk
(16:37):
over to it and you can seehow far that beam would stick out.
So it really helps get that visualof what the structure will look like.
Overall. I want to see whatit looks like. Today's a day to
pick a phone, give them acall. Legacy Exterior six A two two
one three thousand. That's two twoone three thousand. Take a look at
what a four seasons sun room willlook on your house and all the great
features to them. Again the telephonenumber six O A two two one three

out with you and Joe. Thisbeautiful day. News is next year at
