Thirteen ten w Iba on a HalloweenMorning, joined this morning by our good
buddy Josh Gowit's Josh Comster. It'sfrom the Legacy Exteriors the website Legacy Dash
Exteriors dot com. That's Legacy DashExteriors dot com. Dolphy number six away
two two one three thousand. That'stwo two one three thousand. How you
doing this morning? I'm doing good. That reminds me of a of a
jingle I wrote. Yeah, yeah, it's like if your roof's looking tired

(00:39):
in mossy, who are you gonnacall? Legacy excersy exeriens? I get.
Do you have a favorite to Halloweenmovie? There was like one movie
doesn't Actually I'm not a scary movieguy, Oh not a horror fin at
all? Got at all? Gotlike a fun one that you just like
to Halloween specific Yeah, night Behind. I don't think so, Okay,

(01:03):
all right? Are you I likeThe Shining? It's my favorite? Ok
I just something great about that. Also there's a great Simpson spoof called The
Shinning, which else it's because theydon't want to get suit any who?
Uh you mentioned uh jingles and youknow people that have heard your the jingle
that play is on air. Youguys cover just about if it's if it's

(01:23):
outside your exterioror home. Legacy Exteriorshas you covered and every aspect of We're
going to talk about a phenomenal productcalled Verse Attacks. We're going to get
the details on that from you injust a moment, Josh. But first,
last week previously I ask the expertswith Josh Gowitz and Legacy Extiers.
We had we had a storm rollthrough, we had some hail damage and
some other things come through. Startingto see a little bit of the numbers

(01:45):
and a little bit of the thedata from that, and and folks really
want to make sure that if theywere impacted, that they're that they're getting
a couple of quotes and a coupleof folks to come out to take a
look at that that damage. Don'tthey want to do that right? Yeah.
Preliminary numbers are forty six thousand peoplein the Madison surrounding area, so
mainly like the east side of Madison, some some prairie marshall you know,

(02:07):
that kind of swath is right inthe line. So but that's that's what
we're seeing so far as far aspotential hits as far as homeowners go,
when you guys are out, whatare they seeing firsthand? Kind of for
the some of the some of thedamage done, I'm guessing roofs probably took
oh yeah, road scutters. Imean, there's gonna be some sighting damage

(02:30):
to especially if if you have aluminumsiding, it's going to get dinged up.
So the important thing there is isif you were in that path or
think you were in that path orgot hit with hale, give a contractor
call, have them inspect the propertyif they feel that it is worthy of

(02:53):
of you filing acclaim. Just don'tgo at it alone. Have somebody that's
going to be on your side representingyou what is is. And we talk
about that, do we do Wesee a lot of aluminum siding still and
something popular out there? Are thesegenerally kind of popular? No, okay,
No, it's definitely not a newproduct going back on the home.

(03:15):
But there's still a ton of oldschool aluminum siding homes out there, and
uh as you know aluminum condent.Yeah, I've held a can or too
with the frosty beverage inside here orthere, and they do tend to yeah,
exactly that's exactly speaking of different typesof siding and different types of uh,

(03:39):
you know, weather encounters here inWisconsin's we talk about we see it
all. Of course, talk thismorning with Josh Gowitz, owner of Legacy
Exteriors telf from number six, Soeight two two one three thousand. That's
two two one three thousand. Youwere telling me about this product you guys
carry at Legacy Exteriors versa Tech.Let's talk about a couple of different features.

(03:59):
Is one is, as we talkabout Wisconsin climate, Wisconsin weather,
this stuff is durable, isn't it. Yeah, it's definitely you know,
durable. It's resistant to moisture, insects, and it's also capable of being
installed below grade, which is whichis pretty neat. The reason why I

(04:19):
excited about it and why I likeit a lot, is because I like
to look at ways we can upgradethat look of that home. And a
lot of people love the look ofJames Hardy or LP smart side. Reason.
Yes, yeah, but they mightnot have that budget. So they

(04:40):
might have a vinyl budget, whichis totally okay. So how do we
upgrade that vinyl look and make itnot look like vinyl? And I think
Versus Text has fantastic products that enableyou to do that. So we were
talking before the show came on,is how you when you look at a

(05:00):
vinyl, you see that J channelthat holds the vinyl kind of in place
and together, and that's what kindof makes it look like vinyl. And
what Versus Text is able to dois they have a stealth trim system that
has a built in J channel toit, so you can trim out your
windows and doors, your outside corners, all that fun stuff with a built

(05:25):
in J channel, eliminate the vinylvinyl J channel and when you install it,
it's gonna look give that upgraded looklike a James Hardy or LP smart
side that is, and that's prettyamazing. Yeah, you were kind of
showing me use that term J channel. I said, what do you?
What does it? And I startlooking at pics like, I know what
you're talking about. And as youpoint out, it's that you know,
the stuff that goes around the doorsand windows and kind of that edging there

(05:47):
and if as soon as you seeit, you know you're like, oh,
yeah, that's a that's vinyl signing. The greatest vinyl signing still needs
that that j channel there so peopleknow it needs to be held in.
Yeah, it's important part of theYeah, and that it's okay. But
if we can eliminate that, thatinstantly gives it that upgraded look to to

(06:10):
and that I think that's what peoplewant. And we're talking to about the
appearance of the the product itself isit looks like real wood. It looks
like like it's actual wood. It'smade out of its PVC. So when
we talk about mentioned insect and weatherand all that stuff resistant, you have
to worry about mold, rotting, any of that stuff. It's all it's
all safe and prevented because it's PVC. The other thing you were talking about

(06:33):
is the color options, And I'mlike, are there certain colors that you
just know are gonna go? Andthey've got all the They've got a lot
of great options, and there area couple that just kind of jump out
there like, Oh, that's gonnathat's gonna be Yes, it's gonna go
on a lot of houses, isn'tit. Yeah. So that it obviously
comes in white and it can bepainted in any color. But they have

(06:56):
this beautiful wood series called their Canvasseries where you can give that real wood
look. So if you want todo say a port ceiling or you know,
entryway wall, some accent pieces aroundand you want that real wood look.
They have this weathered gray that Ithink is beautiful, but they they

(07:16):
have any kind of walnut or oakthat you can think of. They have
this dark katini or katimi that they'regonna come out with that. Obviously,
as we know right now, bluesand dark grays are extremely hot right now.
Everybody wants their home to be thatdark color. I think this is

(07:40):
going to fit right in with thatlook. I think it looks gorgeous.
But the most important thing is we'vewe've seen a ton of these. I
don't you know fake wood looks tryto replicate wood, and it doesn't do
a great job. It looks exactlylike a fake wood product. This I

(08:01):
think they knocked it out of thepark. I think people are going to
have a very hard time telling whetherit's real wood or fake wood. Even
from up close. It looks spoton to me. My wife watches this
and I think it's kind of it'sthe dumbest show ever, But I also
get get sucked in. It's calledis it cake? Have you ever watched

(08:22):
this show? Is it cake? They have these sculptors and I don't know
what it's. It's it's again it'sthe dumbest show out there. But you
start watching, You're like, that'spretty amazing it is And they're like trying
to judge is this item made ofcake? And that's the same thing with
this Like you guys could do likeyou could hold it straight on to somebody
and say is it would and thenif they if they then turn it sideway
so they can actually see the cutawayto see is it or isn't it this

(08:45):
stuff here? Everybody like, Oh, yeah, that's that's absolutely that is
That is actual, real natural fiber, good old fashioned wood, and in
reality it's it's actually not. Howcool is that? Josh Love to get
a hold of you. Love tostart that conversation with you. I gotta
pick up phone, give them acall. Six two two one three thousand.
That's two two one three thousand. You'll be talking with Nicky. Say
hello to Niki this morning. She'dlove to hear from you. Six oaight

(09:05):
two two one three thousand. Ifyou had any storm damage over this past
couple of weeks with the hail,we had and some of the other stuff.
Make sure you get Legacy Exteriors outas one of your one of your
contacts, one of the folks outthere. Let them take a look at
your place against six o' eight twotwo one, three thousand on the website
Legacy Dashexteriors dot com. That's LegacyDashexteriors dot com. Looks in you.

(09:26):
Our conversation with Josh, we'll dothat next as ask the experts with Legacy
Exteriors continues here on thirteen ten WIBA little Rockwell fun fact about Rockwell.

(09:48):
Rockwell's father was a music executive inthe recording industry and I had a client
Michael Michael Jackson. I think theguy's name was, I don't really remember.
Apparently familiar Yeah, apparently had somehits or something back in the day.
Well Rockwell decided to record this stuffand they and his father did not
want Michael Jackson doing it, butMichael Jackson recorded that sounds I feel like

(10:13):
that line that's Michael Jackson, butdid not get any credit, didn't take
any credit, snuck in recorded itfor him. So kind of a cool
little story. I like this afun song. It's a fun fun song.
It's a fun time of year. It's a great time of year as
well. As we talked with JoshGowitz, owner at Legacy Exteriors, take
a look at your home. Oneof the nice things too right now is
you're going to be walking down thestreet tonight with kiddo's or grandkids. Take

(10:33):
a look at other people's houses. You see something cool, you see something
interesting, take note and talk withthe folks at Legacy Exteriors. They'd love
to talk with you about making thathappen for your home as well. Telph
number six O eight two to twoone three thousand, that's three thousand and
on a Halloween day, you thinkof Victorian homes, Victorian homes that are
not up kept, kept up andstuff, they look like haunted houses.

(10:56):
They look scary. Conversely, ifyou've got like a Victorian home or any
type of styling like that, ifyou keep that thing up to date,
oh my god, they are themost beautiful houses out there. And you
were talking, we were talking beforethe break about versa tech and one of
the things you guys use quite often, whether it's a Victorian rather style home,
is you guys use their their columnwraps quite regularly at Legacy Exteriors for

(11:20):
a number for the number of reasonswe're talking with the siding. It's just
an absolutely fantastic product, isn't it. Yeah. So they have a lot
of different products and uses for theirproducts, but their column wraps is something
that we use every day. Theyhave a lot of different styles and looks.
They have the classic, the racepanel, the tapered. You know,

(11:43):
tapered is getting very popular with thecraftsman style homes, but you can't
go wrong with the classic. Somepeople would wrap their columns because no one
likes the upkeep on columns no ortheir poach the porch. They might do
it an elaborate wrap in wood,or they might do simple wrap and aluminum.

(12:05):
But each way is gonna eventually nothold up where where versa wrap.
Column wraps are gonna look like theday you install them. All the time
you tell me it's one piece too, it's the one It's a one one
piece system. There's a lot ofdifferent things you can add to it,
whether it's you know, the crownkits or the accent wraps to beef,

(12:28):
you know, make it beefy.A lot of different options there. You
mentioned Victorian homes. Yes, alot of Victorian homes have you know,
our two stories and they have youknow, a roof to wall right where
it meets the first story. Andwhat we see all the time is where

(12:48):
that sighting meets the roof, itrots out that siding and those edges and
it looks not good, right,so a great The reason why this is
they mentioned it can go below gradeand why we use it a lot in
those areas is because we can solike James Hardy Lpie smart real wood,

(13:11):
you don't want to put that woodsiding on the roof or close to the
roof because it will rot out thoseedges of the siding. Where this you
can put it right to the roof, so you can use it as your
starter piece or your your trim pieceor your freeze word and you don't have
to worry about it ever rotting out. That is awesome. And that's the
other thing, and we haven't touchedon it this week, but I know

(13:33):
we've talked a little bit in thepast. The different manufacturers and the different
certifications you guys have. You're ableto bring these different as we're talking this
morning about first attachs, for example, bring that into a project using other
types of siding as well to reallygive it the beauty, give it the
longevity, and really the prevention asyou were talking there about about you know,

(13:54):
moisture and other things getting in thereand being able to prevent that.
That's a huge benefit of working withthe team at Lake See Exteriors. Yeah,
and that's why I like doing whatwe do, we don't and the
way we do things because we're nota one size fits all kind of company
like a lot of companies out thereare. They they sell one thing and
that's what they're going to ram downyour throat. We're going to have that

(14:18):
interview process like that we always talkabout, and we're gonna see what you
want to have accomplished, and thenwe're going to bring a little bit of
our own knowledge and background to thatproject because we view every single project as
unique and different, do you guysby the way, and I know it's
on a day like today as we'retalking with Josh Cowitz, owner at Legacy
Xteriors six eight two two one, three thousand, we talk about pergolas a

(14:41):
lot. Of course, we talkfour seasons and other options there can this
stuff be used as well? Aspart of a as part of a pergola.
And I've got to think too, when we're talking earlier about some of
those beautiful siding options, some folksprobably are are using that as kind of
like an accent wall for that, for that maybe that outdoor living space.
Yeah, so that canvas U seriesthat we talked about, that is going

(15:03):
to be perfect for say your fourseasons. You want to finish off that
ceiling, you want to finish offthat wall that it's going on, but
you don't want it to you know, because it's still gonna be exposed to
the elements in a way. Sothis is a great way of getting that
real wood look inside and not haveto worry about it deteriorating over time or

(15:26):
not looking on as we when wefirst install it. As you know,
you install it with versa tex,It's never gonna rot, it's never gonna
mildew, it's you know, impenetrableto insects. So all the stuff you
would want in an outdoor product, and you don't have to worry about j
channels people knowing that you have toworry about Jane's amazing stuff. Today is

(15:48):
day pick up phone, say hito Nikki this morning, just say hey,
what's up six A two two onethree thousand, and then have the
folks from Legacy six tiers come outtake a look at your home again.
If you suffered storm damage, youdefinitely want to make sure if you questions,
you want to make sure you're havingthat stuff checked out. But as
we talk to about siding options, windows, doors, at trim roofs,
if you can see it from theoutside of your home, Josh and the

(16:08):
team, they've got the products pluralto help you get that perfect home exterior
remodel. I can just pick upphone, give a call six O eight
two two one three thousand. That'stwo two one three thousand. The website
Legacy Dash Exteriors dot com. That'sLegacy Dash Exteriors dot com. What kind
of candy you guys giving out today? Do you know? Yes? I
do know. Have you sampled justto make sure I have? Yeah,

(16:33):
well you have to make sure it'sgood for the kids. Yeah, you're
yes, you're that kind of guy. I'm going out a man of the
people. Yes, exactly, goodstuff. Today is a great day,
of course, to give him acall Legacy Exteriors and you stop in say
