(00:15):
Iba Madison in the morning and askthe experts. Hanging out in studio this
morning with the one and only JoshGawitts of Legacy Exteriors. Josh, how
the heck you're doing? Man,I'm doing good. It's good to see
you. And we were just talkingabout what shouldn't we talk about this week
because I feel like everything can becovered. You've got It's funny. That's
a funny thing too. By theway, as we talked with Josh from
Legacy Exteriors website Legacy dash Exteriors dotcom, tellphone number six away two two
(00:38):
one three thousand. That's two twoone three thousand. The funny thing is
literally, if it's on the exteriorof your house, you can talk about
it and you do it. Wedo it. Yeah, yeah, No,
it's uh, roofing, siding,windows, gutters, jack's sunrooms,
pergolas, you name it, gutterguards, gutter guards. Do you know?
And uh that that I probably haveseen quite a bit on the growing
(01:02):
of shrubbery on the overhanging people's houses. Not a good look, by the
way, it's not that landscaping shouldbe on the ground. Yeah, I'll
state it. I'll stay, Iwill say, and when I do,
and I've seen that years ago.I remember you pointing out to me that
like trees and other things will startto grow, and I'll notice it once
in a while. And two things, I think, Oh, that's terrible.
(01:23):
And then the other thing, Ithink poor people that live there,
because you know what it is,they're just doing what a lot of us
is, which is putting off thosetype of things until it's it's too late.
We talked last weekend. I thinkit's important to mention about master shield
and armor guard and as some ofthe great options you have at legacy exteriors
when it comes to gutters and whenit comes to keeping that stuff from ever
(01:46):
happening in the first place. You'vegot a cover, don't you. Literally
we got your cover, yes, yeah. And I don't understand why there
people still have open gutters. Yeah, I just don't. Yeah, because
why one, they're not designed towork fully open. You know, they've
got to be completely clean. Soget a cover that works and never have
(02:08):
to worry about it again. Imean ours will obviously, we say all
the time, that'll keep a humanhair out. Yes, Um, so
the openings are fifty microns, butit's gonna keep out your shingle grit.
It's gonna keep out obviously all soliddebris and then only allow water to enter
your gutters so you're completely your gutterswill be completely clear, always flowing correctly.
(02:31):
I don't know why there is stillsuch thing as open gutters and people
haven't problems with you and you mentionedget one that works. Is that why
the thing is? I think Ilook at like, I'll use our house.
When we bought our house, ithad these weird and I think a
lot of people tried this, theselike little clip in things with like a
like a like a little almost likeliterally a windows screen. Yeah, and
(02:54):
it'll work, and so people gota guard I bother. Yeah. Is
part of the issue is people maynot I know, when you get out
and I know we've got the paryohomes, don't things coming up or people
can actually see some of this stuffus people actually realizing those things don't work.
Which you have does actually work.Yeah, And what I would tell
people is if you're questioning it oror have doubt in your mind, because
(03:20):
I think people there's hundreds of differentproducts out there on the market, and
I think if you came and alot of them you can look at and
go, well, yeah, obviouslythat doesn't work. Yeah, come into
our showroom. We'll we'll have arunning water display going for you. Um,
you can bring your own debris ifyou want, set out and uh
(03:43):
and you'll see you you can literallylook at master shield and and just look
at it and go yep. Ithink that'll work. Like you don't have
to know what you're doing. It'llwork. But another fun fact about Legacy,
we we've we got our certification forthe highest level of installer for LP
smart side. Oh really that's notsurprising, but well we're the only one
(04:04):
in again, I know you guys, it's it's not shocking. It's it's
something I think very well deserved andvery important to have. And you know
you talk about you talk about signingthose side of things. Speaking of recognition,
I know, um, we're intowhat round two for Best of Medicine
and I'm seeing Legacy exteriors under roofing, and I'm seeing people voting and windows
(04:26):
and doors, windows and doors, well of course windows and doors as well,
So people should get on get onand vote there as well. Yeah,
I highly encourage everyone out there togo and vote. Um, hopefully
you you you choose our direction.Um, you listen to the show and
like what we're talking about, andand and vote for vote for Legacy Exteriors
(04:49):
and both categories. Um, wewe much appreciate it. Obviously, it's
a big honor just to be nominatedand be a part of it the final
round. That means means a lot. That means we're doing things, um,
you know right, you know,uh here locally and we're being recognized
because obviously you know, we've wona lot of national awards. We just
(05:13):
won again this year the Top twohundred Exterior Companies in America award. Yes,
so that the national awards those arealways nice, but it means just
a little bit more when you getyou win these local awards, and that
kind of goes kind of the twoaspects of it. And I think it
also when we talk about, youknow, the recognition that that you have
(05:35):
received at Legacy Exteriors, both nationallyfrom manufacturers and then locally from customers kind
of covers both of those bases. When it comes to the technology, the
quality, the installation, the thingsthat that as a homeowner you may not
may not recognize and hopefully with anyluck ever, because it's just so perfect
for decades and generations, You're going, Wow, those things were really well.
(05:57):
Their gutters were really well installed. The roof was aazingly done, the
signing was amazingly done. That homeownersthey see the other side, which is
what was it like to work withthis company? What was it like having
this this job done? What kindof warranty did I have? If I
had questions how we're responsive? Werethey? And I think with legacy exteriors,
you've got them both. You've gotthe manufacturers saying listen, these guys
are top notch. There their topof their game when it comes to installing
(06:21):
provident products properly, and then customerssaying, not only are they doing that,
but also there are the type ofpeople you want to work with.
Yeah, I think what we've triedto do for our customers is take away
the guesswork or maybe do have donetheir research. So like everything we carry,
(06:42):
you know, there's a lot ofdifferent shingles out there that are being
manufactured by a lot of different manufacturers. There's a lot of different sighting and
manufacturers out there. We're very strategicon what we carry and what we are
installing because at the end of theday, um our name is on that
installation no matter what we what productwe put on, So we want to
(07:04):
make sure the very best is puton that home so we as install installers
don't have to worry about it.Yeah, that's why you know we're GF
Master Elite. Well, you knowwe're at the highest level with LP smart
Side, which is a great product. Same thing with James Hardy cement Board,
(07:25):
um, you know, Mastic VinylWeave and master Shield gutter Guard.
These are you know, all theyou know, some of the highest names
in the industry and in their respectivefields. And it's it's not a coincidence
that we are at the highest leveland carry them all and they come to
you when they when they're looking todo training videos and allies in documentation,
(07:47):
which is which is again just allthese all these things you guys are going
to need. Thank goodness you guyswork in work in construction and building,
because you're going to need a newwing on the on the literally a wing
of awards. Just a great thing. That's a great thing about working with
Josh the team at Legacy Exteriors. What are you gonna say, Oh,
I was gonna say this, itsounds like a brag session today, but
(08:07):
our GF REP last week just droppedoff another President's Club Award, which for
those of you that don't know whatthat is, it's it. That's a
that's a big deal. So that'sthat's given to only master elite contractors.
UM. So it's kind of likea best of the Best award. Um
(08:28):
it's for um a lot of differentthings coming to play for that award,
but um, that's a third yearin a row of us winning that award,
which is which is great, It'sfantastic. So you are literally going
to need to build that wing ofparts. Yeah, and it's and it
goes and it goes to Obviously youand Kala work work very hard and develop
a culture at Legacy Exteriors that runsthroughout and I know you're that. You
(08:52):
know we have had Amanda and umother folks come in and get to know
the people is they're all experts andwhat they do, they love what they
do, and that's a great thingat Legacy Exteriors. Seeing that recognition.
Josh and the team would love towork with you, love to work with
you on your house. I couldjust pick up phone. Gimm a call
this morning. Six O eight twotwo one three thousand. That's six O
eight two two one three thousand forLegacy Exteriors website Legacy dash Exteriors dot com.
(09:13):
That's the Legacy Dash Exteriors dot com. Don't forget to vote in the
Best of Madison Roofing as well aswindows and doors. You can check that
out. I think Channel three thousandhas a link if you just type in
Best of Madison twenty twenty three, you'd get there as well. Don't forget
to vote for that. We'll talkwith Josh a little bit more. I
want to talk about LP smart side. Also, I noticed on the website
we've been talking about four seasons sunrooms, and you guys did a big
(09:37):
upgrade on the website too, withmore pictures and some videos and some more
great information there. We talk alittle bit about that as well. So
we continue our conversation with Josh Galletsoff Legacy Exteriors right here at thirteen ten
Wiba Wiba Madison in the morning, hanging out with Josh Gallot's owner at Legacy
(10:03):
Exteriors. The website at Legacy dashExteriors dot com. That's Legacy Dash Exteriors
dot Com Felt number six or eighttwo two one three thousand. That's two
two one three thousand. And Josh, just before the break, you mentioned
LP smart Side. Um, we'vehad we've had folks in from LP smart
Side and we've had st and youcame in. Yeah, yeah, so
(10:24):
who's great. And uh, let'stalk about LP smart Side. And I
know obviously with the forecast, alot of folks are thinking about master shield,
thinking about gutters for good reason. But don't don't overlook your signing.
It doesn't really if you're looking toupdate your home. And UM, LP
smart Side is is a great solution. Um, it's actually a solution I
(10:46):
chose for um my house. Yeah. UM and UM they have a lot
of different colors and options. UMin their Expert Finished series which has the
uh, you know, the maleand female in connectors at the seam so
it makes the seams look look fantastic. Um, it's a extremely realistic looking
(11:11):
wood product. UM. I wouldsay definitely check it out. They also
have a one piece corner system.UM. So like traditionally on on your
outside corners, you you butt uptwo pieces of wood so you have that
seam they have one piece corner.A corner is no seam. It's a
true true corner no seams. Looksgreat. Um. I think it's a
(11:35):
fantastic sighting option. Um. Ifif you're looking for a you know,
an upgraded specialty look, um,definitely check into LP smart side color options,
texture options, everything, everything.Yeah, there's they got two.
They also have two tone options.Oh really yeah, so you can make
it look um, you know moreif you're trying to get that maybe that
(11:58):
cedar look, that real cedar look. They have excellent two tone paint options.
That is extremely realistic. The housewasn't brick, i'd be calling you
right now. Yeah, I loveit. Um. I mean you can
use a few of it for accidentpiece. So a lot of I think
a trendy house design is going,um, you know, mixing matching colors.
(12:24):
So maybe maybe a bump out you'redoing that cedar look and then the
other area you're doing black. Ohyou know that black cedar look is very,
very very popular. That I justkind of I feel like I've probably
seen it somewhere, but in myhead, I'm just that it's gotta that
woods looks gotta pop. It reallydoes pop m and they got because some
(12:46):
there's other products out there that tryto mimic that cedar look, um and
they and they kind of fail inthe realistic you know. Um, but
I think LP smart Side is nailtheir two tone. My buddy's got when
he bought his house, he hadthis he's got this room. It was
like a guest bedroom and the peoplethat owned it previously had used uh,
(13:07):
like a wallpaper that had like uha woodprint. Yeah, what's the It
was a mention of things that thatdon't don't come through a real hell.
Ands again, you mentioned the importanceof of of realistic and of course durability.
That's some of the amazing stuff withLegacy Exteriors. They'd love to talk
to a phone game McCall six totwo two one three thousand. That's two
two one three thousand. Um.We were talking the other week about four
(13:31):
season. We talked about the additionof four season sun rooms. Um.
You guys always had a little hereand there on the site, but you've
really at Legacy dash Exteriors dot Comup the game a lot with a lot
of bunch of pictures, videos, great information about all that stuff. Um,
I know the four season. Aswe've talked with Amanda and others you
as well about about four seasons.People ahaps for good reason absolutely love these
(13:56):
spaces. Yeah, I think it'sa it's a great I don't want to
say inexpensive option, but it's definitelyless expensive when when it comes to adding
square foot onto your house. Um, maybe getting that secondary sitting space or
living room in that space is fullyintended on enjoying the outdoors. Four seasons,
(14:20):
it's where it's at. There's somany different options. The design process
is amazing. Um there there there'sa lot of different things you can do.
Maybe maybe you're looking for a screenand porch. A great option it
would be the pergola roof system withthe with the motorized wall wall panel screens.
(14:43):
You can open it up completely whenwhen the weather justifies that, or
you can completely close it all offand have that nice screen in porch.
Or you can have one or twoclosed and to get the air through and
set out. I mean that Andthat's so many options. That is it's
so cool and check those out.Legacy to Aash Exteriors dot com. That's
Legacy Dash Exteriors dot com. Um, they've got a whole section four of
(15:05):
course four season check that out orif whatever rains, we do roofing as
well. But no one would youknow, no one would know in the
last three months if they're roofs isit do if we do? And I
don't have the forecast in front ofyou, but I know that the rain
is in the forecast. Um.I don't know if it's substantial, but
is is this going to be oneof those things where we start to get
(15:26):
a lot of rain and people mightstart to notice things that because of how
dry it's been and the winter monthsobviously not a lot to deal with,
where people might starting start noticing someof those issues and problems. Okay,
well, I mean it's been sucha dry uh start to the year the
year that I think, you know, inevitably it's it's gonna rain, yeah,
right, and when it does,we're probably gonna get a lot of
(15:46):
it. And I think that's gonnareally um accelerate those roofing problems. Um
and uh we'll probably get bombarded withcalls the first uh down and pour that
we see in the year. Bythe way, and for homeowners looking for
signs that that you know, thingsmay need to be obviously, water overrunning
(16:07):
your gutters is a pretty good signthat there's there's something around there, other
issues that people should be looking aton there on the roof for their their
gutters themselves. Say, you knowwhat, probably so I think like when
you look at your roof and it'sum sunny out and you see the edges
of your shingles shiny, Okay, that's not a good thing. That means
you're seeing that. That means you'reseeing the fiberglass underneath. Um. So
(16:30):
that that's a very we're easy wayof detecting roof problems, but without having
to get up on your roof, because I know not everybody's comfortable up there.
Yeah um. But yeah, Soif you see a lot of different
shiny edges on your roof, um, that that's a that's a sign that
you've got granule loss um and you'reseeing the fiberglass underneath. If you're seeing
(16:53):
you know, wavness. Um.I mean, if you're up on the
roof and you're seeing like kind offracture cracks in the shingles, obviously missing
shingles, that's that's that's no bueno. But uh yeah, give us give
us a call. If you ifyou would just want a roof inspection,
yeah, we can certainly do thatfor you, because, um, sometimes
(17:15):
it's not the shingles that are gonnago. Maybe it's the the accessories on
that roof, you know in uh, um, you know, the vent
pipe covers or the or the podsor something along those lines that uh might
go first, and then that's wherethe leak is coming from. That's it's
important, as you mentioned too,if you have questions concerns, if you
just haven't had your roof inspected recently, definitely check that out because, yes,
(17:37):
Josh points out, inevitably, therain's gonna come and it's gonna come
hard. You want to protect yourinvestment, you want to protect your home.
