Cast, Wi, b A andAsque the experts hanging out this morning with
Brock Rotor. He is with LegacyExteriors website Legacy Dash Exteriors dot com.
That's all one word. Legacy DashExteriors dot Com is the website to number
six away two two one three thousand. That's two two one three thousand,

(00:27):
and Brock. When you call thatnumber, who answers that phone? That
would be the wonderful beautiful Nikki, which you're allowed to say because yes she
is. She is my wife.Yeah, so any of the fun phone
calls goes straight to her and thenshe uh, she disperses where it goes
from there. It's great to seeyou, and of course when we call
him this morning, stay hi toNikki. And of course we've got a

(00:49):
lot of ground to cover, bythe way, real quick before we get
moving. You're a bowler, rightI am. I am not as much
as I used to be, butI'm still a bowler. Better bowling movie
Kingpin or The Big Lebowski or doyou throw Uncle Buck in the list as
well, because I'm a big UncleBuck fan. Yeah. Man, probably
big white rushing guys. I'll giveI'll give a big Lebowski the nod Are

(01:14):
we are we seeing? But I'mgonna go down a whole route of bowling
real quick. But are we seeingmore young people finally getting back into bowling?
I know for a while there itkind of dry, were starting to
kind of dry up and drop dropoff. We seen anything come back as
far as just numbers or no,No, Well from from my opinion,
I mean, I used to runa bowling center ten years ago, years

(01:34):
whatever, however long ago it was. And and it's it's a lot like
slow pitch softball. You know, you're just the younger kids that are that
are coming out of high school orout of college or whatever. I'm not
sure what they're doing. But youknow, I do one bowling league now
and it's still a lout of themiddle age. Nah, there's some young

(01:57):
kids, but if you're not doinghigh school bowling to college bowling, there's
no not a whole lot of randomsthrown in there. Used to be.
They used to I don't even knowif they still do. They used to
do like scholarships for bowling and stufflike this. Yeah, they still have,
they still have something. They stillhave good programs. That's one of
those things that, you know,if a kid is looking for a sport

(02:17):
to do, bowling is probably oneof those things where you can get some
scholarship money, you know, otherthan you know the main football, baseball,
basketball ones that are that are youknow, big time money. You
could when you're paying yourself, youknow, get these five hundred dollars or
a couple hundred dollars scholarships. Yeah, up, it's pretty good. That's

(02:38):
pretty good. It's great to hear, and it's great to have you in
studio. Now, we could talkbowling all all day, but we've got
we've got have slept right, we'vegot great stuff talk about. And you've
got a LP smart side coffee cup. If I if I see Crackley over
there, LP, LP Tumble areover there, and let's let's talk about
is we get into kind of Idon't want to be that guy, but

(03:00):
nobody that guy. Fall is almosthere and win. That means winter will
be here as well. It meansthat it's a really good time. People
don't think about this. I knowwhat Legacy exteriors. You guys work through
the winter months and people are like, wait, what, you guys work
year round at Legacy exteriars. It'snot just spring, summer, fall kind
of stuff. Is Yeah, weyou know, we have enough on our
plate that we can go year round. One thing we also like to stand

(03:25):
behind us. We don't like layingworkers off, So we want to be
able to work year round, andall the products that we work with allow
for that. If if we getto cold weather, we'll essentially build chanties
around the house so then we cankeep the product warm so when we make

(03:45):
cuts, it's not shattering if it'svinyl, or the paint's not freezing.
Yeah, you know, we'll keepstuff in the truck if needed. But
but yeah, we go year roundbecause there's, like I like to tell
customers, some people, most peoplehave the ability to decide when they want
their stuff done, but then whenthere's an emergency that kicks in, some

(04:08):
don't have that option. So ifwe said, hey, you got to
deal with it for three months, two months, whatever the winter decides to
be in Wisconsin, they're in trouble. Yeah, we prefer to be the
one to call and know that wecan do it your own. Josh Is
talked about you mentioned kind of creatingthat that that chanty, that that that
barrier between the house and the elementsand talks about you know, the guys

(04:30):
in their work and they've got theirT shirts on. It's like they're living
the good life. So never abad time to call Legacy Exteriors get on
that schedule. I'm gonna talk withRock a little bit about going through the
process telep when number six to eighttwo two one three thousand, that's two
two one three thousand, And it'sreally if you can see it from the
curb on a house, you guysdo it at Legaci exter Years, don't
We can. We can do almostanything. And I say almost anything because

(04:54):
the at the point I sit infront of a homeowner and say we do
everything exterior. They need landscaping,Dum, we don't do landscaping. There's
plenty of companies that do. Butyou know is as far as you're siding,
you're roofing, souf with facia, gutters down. As we go on,
we do it all. Let's talkabout then we'll just use a hypothetical.
Let's say siding. I want toyou know, maybe i've I've been

(05:15):
in my house a few years, got that builder grade sighting on there and
say, you know, what it'stime to time to replace this stuff.
Give you guys a call, geton the schedule. How does the process
process? Kind of walk walk throughkind of how that all works. So
the whole process is, you know, whether it's a website lead, you
know, we have a great relationshipwith a lot of the manufacturers that we

(05:35):
have, they provide leads as wellfor us. But a phone call into
the office, like we said before, Nikki is going to be the voice
that you hear, and then fromthere Nikki puts puts the customer on the
schedule. You know, whether it'sUH, any of our sales people or

(05:56):
depending on what the product is,you know, one of us is going
to come out and take a lookat your project and decide what exactly is
right for you, what's needed,go through the whole interview process and try
to find what's best to do toyour house. That's really what it is.
You mean to use the term interviewprocess, that's really what this is.
Not like a high pressure kind ofthing. This is literally let's talk

(06:17):
about your house, what you'd liketo do, and then Legacy Exterior's saying
here's what we can offer. Andoftentimes things that sometimes homers. Homeowners may
not have even thought of, Iknow, because of all the different types
of going back to the siding conversation, different types of signing. The type
of things you guys are able todo with legacy exteriors is absolutely phenomenal.

(06:38):
And for homeowners to get that exposureand to learn that, have that conversation
and do that interview, it's ahuge benefit for them to just kind of
see what you're able to do withlegacy exteriors. Yeah, the interview process
is huge because it not only savesthe customer time because you know, when
we're doing appointments, people are probablytaking off work or stepping aside from work,

(06:59):
so we want to save everyone time. So that interview process clears up
a lot of stuff when it comesto siding. A conversation I have with
almost all homeowners is do you wantto do a vinyl route or do you
want to do a specialty like anLP or a hardy And the difference between
those two is large, you know, money wise, product wise, everything.

(07:24):
So the quick interview process is Okay, do you have a budget?
Everyone has a budget, they sayit right away or not, yeah exactly,
And if if they throw a numberout there, we know exactly which
avenue we can go, and atthat point we start, you know,
figuring out colors, and the LPand Hardy have become a rabbit hole of

(07:44):
decision making, so there's a lotof stuff going on. So trying to
save the homeowner time, trying tosave the salesperson time, you have this
interview process to really get someone peggedinto where they should be. Did you
miss the old days where they're likefour colors on the palette and like two
texts? If you if you werelucky there when I first started with something
like LP, yeah, the biggestdecision everything was kind of in that same

(08:07):
price point and it was just timehow long it took to get the product.
Now there's there's three different levels andcustom and this and that, and
it's it's it's quite the process.Now. Do you do you think things
like and and obviously LP and youmentioned the Hardy that that stuff is I've
for good reasons, cement board andstuff, which is very very popular.
Do you think sometimes that that vinylsiding gets a bad, bad rap just

(08:30):
because of people's you mentioned maybe itgot that bought the new house and they
kind of put that thinner, notvery well manufactured, like it almost feels
like sometimes it gets a bad andunfair reputation for if you've got the right
kind and the right installation, it'sactually a phenomenal product and a good price
point. Yeah, the price pointsthe biggest thing, because I'll talk to

(08:50):
customers and I would tell them ifI talked to one hundred people and I'm
paying for their siding, people areputting on an l pere hardy. Yeah.
But then if I pull back andsay you have to pay for it
yourself, different half the people atleast are going vinyl. But vinyl has
got a bad rep because there aredifferent levels of it. You know that

(09:11):
you go from O four two tofour six, there's a thickness difference there.
Colors come into play, but they'rethe siding manufacturers probably saw the trend
of going to an LP or Hardykick in, so they knew they had
to do different things. So darkcolors have become very popular with vinyl.

(09:33):
I personally am am a big fanof vinyl with like LP trim around the
windows and doors, so it stillgives the spruce of specialty siding, but
the cost of say vinyl is thatsomething. As we're talking this morning with
Brock from Legacy Exterior's website Legacy dashExteriors dot com TELFH number six O two

(09:56):
two one three thousand, that's twotwo one three thousand. You mentioned doing
the doing the vinyl for the sidingand then LP maybe on the trim.
There is that something that that LegacyExteriors is uniquely good at. Is I
think of a lot of places whereyou're kind of shoe hold into what they
what they do, like, oh, we're a vinyl side company, or
we we carry this particular brand,Whereas it seems like with Legacy Exteriors,

(10:20):
because you have so many different optionsthat it really puts you in a unique
position to say, hey, wecan do that. We can do the
affordable, durable, beautiful vinyl siding, and if you want to kind of
kick it up a notch to reallymake it visually appealing and really make it
look look custom and premium, wecan we can kick it up a notch.
That seems to be something pretty uniqueto Legacy Exteriors. Yeah, when

(10:41):
you work with all these different products, you know, whether it's five pound
or LP hardy, all these differentthings, you kind of learned that you
can mix and match different things andthat helps for the homeowner. You know,
each of us has our own home. That that that we know what
we want to do with ourselves orwith our homes and make it look best.

(11:03):
But that doesn't mean what I like, you're gonna like? Okay,
anytime a homeowner tells me what theylike, yeah, I love it perfect.
I love whatever the homeowner wants todo. So we can play around
with it and we can do differentdo different things. And Josh has talked
about coming into the office and puttingit on the TV, and I'm working

(11:24):
with a customer in Wanaquino that wedid just that, put it, put
it up on the TV, changesome things around, did some window trim,
colors, did some roofing, changessiding, and it's a completely different
house on paper and that's exactly whatthey wanted to see. So now it's
just finalization. You mentioned that technologyaspect of is being able to see on

(11:48):
the big screen what it's, whatit's going to look like, and some
of your different options before the projectstarts. There's also technology and advancements being
made and the different types of materials. I know, we think like decking,
and we think of sighting, andwe think of all these other all
these different you mentioned five pond andsome other other products and lines out there.
Is there's really a lot that's exciting, really exciting stuff that's been going

(12:11):
on as far as materials and howthey're constructed and really what's being put into
oftentimes things that as a homeowner, you know, you get your you get
your sighting done, or you getat the trim done, and that that
type of work done that first day, it's gonna look great, right,
you'd hope. I think it's gonnait's gonna look great. The question then

(12:31):
comes, well, what about five, ten, fifteen, twenty years.
The type of of of technology that'sbeing built in, the type of chemistry
and other things that go into theseproducts. Not only are they going to
look good as as everyone's pulling awayten fifteen, twenty years down the road,
it's still going to retain that beautyand that and that great quality because
of the science that goes into thisstuff. Yeah, all of them.

(12:54):
All of them are going to comewith great warranty is whether it's you know,
rated warranties or you know, thirtyfifty years vinyl in most cases has
lifetime warranties for the home purchaser orfor the product purchaser for the homeowner.
So when people hear that, theyknow that as long as they got they

(13:16):
got a company that's gonna install itper yes, you know industry standards.
They're going to be covered, youknow, and if if they're installing it
correctly, you're not going to havethe warping and the cracking, fading,
all that stuff kicks in with themanufacturer. That is absolutely amazing. That's
the great thing about working with theteam at Legacy Exterior is great day to

(13:37):
give them a call where you thinkit's siding, roofs, think about adding
some nice little accents to your house, entryway, doors, windows, all
that stuff they do for your legacyex tears if you can see it from
the curb, not the landscaping, but if you can see it on the
house from the curb, they cando that for your legacy exterior. So
I could just pick up foe giMcAll this morning six away two two one
three thousand. That's two two onethree thousand. We talk about none of

(13:58):
the great foe because that legacy extiersan opportunity for you to join the team.
We'll talk with Brock about that, talk a little bit more about some
of the great things they can doat Legacy Extiers. We'll do that next
as Ask the Experts with Legacy Exteriorscontinues right here on thirteen ten w Ibi

(14:22):
thirteen t w Iba and Ask theExperts. Hanging out with Brock from the
Legacy Exteriors. Great to have Brockin studio. We were reminiscing about the
first time you joined us on theshow. You were on the phone chasing
chasing the hounder around here. Yeah, that was That was my introduction to
being on the radar phone, phoneon my ear and I was running around
the neighborhood trying to find the dogrunning Lewis. By the way, when

(14:45):
you're when you're driving around or chasinga dog around me, are you looking
at houses, looking for inspiration, looking for I mean looking at that stuff,
probably with a little different eye thanthan most people. It's funny,
when I first started this job,I never would have thought I'd drive around
a neighborhood or us driving in general, looking at different things. And I
used to bring it up to Nikkiand I'd be like, Oh, did
you see that gable or this that, and she would look at me and

(15:07):
be like, I don't care. And now we'll go on walks and we
got a newer neighborhood in our area, and she's noticing things because we have
a remodel that that hopefully is comingif we ever slow down, which we
haven't, so therefore our work alwaysgets put on hold. But we've come

(15:28):
up with some pretty good ideas fromwalking around neighborhoods. And I tell customers
all the time, I'm like,find a new subdivision. They'll they'll have
every option for you to entertain dothings like Pinterest and some of those other
that hows is one of those outtheres Where do you see people getting ideas
from those places as well? Yes, okay, I will casually say I

(15:48):
hate Pinterest, okay, because peoplewill come up with ideas because the people
that usually post stuff on pinterst areabove and beyond us. You know,
they're doing high end stuff and they'llpull this up and they'll be drones flying
through houses and it's like, that'sthat's that's above our not the drone people.
Yeah, and that's it's It's interesting, though, when you get get

(16:11):
a feeling for people's you know, ideas, and you see, you know,
walk the neighborhood and take those notesand put together some some ideas.
It's amazing what you guys are ableto do and if you guys do so
much at Legacy Exteriors. We've beentalking for a few years and I'm often
surprised I ask a question. I'mlike, you guys do garage stores something
We've ever talked about it in Brockyou said, hey, we do,
we do garage stores. I meanliterally everything on the outside of the house

(16:33):
you guys have done and we'll dowith Legacies, absolutely, decks, garage
doors. I know you've talked aboutsun rooms. So so we've increased our
portfolio that I would say of anexterior other than that landscaping, we're real
close to doing anything stonework, brickwork. Versetta has a siding sighting like install

(17:00):
stone panel that is available for somepeople like that look better than true masonry.
You realize you have a seventeen yearold Legacy lawn care sounds nice.
You maybe maybe the last show you'reable to do. He's done the Legacy
lawn before. Yeah, that hithim. Going today is an eight again

(17:25):
McCall Legacy Exer. He's six Atwo two one three thousand at six A
two two one three thousand. Withall this work, that means, of
course there's opportunity as well. Andyou guys are specifically are looking for looking
for drivers. But I know Joshhas talked about this in the past.
If you've got a passion, ifyou've got a skill, if you've got
the right mindset, you guys arereally looking for looking for those type of

(17:47):
people. Period. At Legacy Experie, we're always highering. There's plenty of
work to be done. You know, the more staff we have, the
quicker we get to people's projects. But we also don't want to run through
and just find any Joe Schmo thathas wheeled it a hammer before but doesn't
know where it's going. So yeah, we're we're always looking for install stuff.

(18:11):
Driver positions, you know, anyof the drivers that are around.
As long as you can lift seventytwo one hundred pounds, because each one
of those bundles of shingles is seventypounds, we got a position for you.
That's that's literally going from job siteto job site, either picking up
material, dropping off material, cleaningup job sites. But it's it's windshield

(18:33):
time, it's radio time, it'sit would be perfect for my son if
you didn't have to go to highschool. It also it's I've got a
guess too. It's a good placeto kind of get a feel for the
industry as a whole. Is forpeople are saying, you know what,
I love. I love the ideaof working on houses. I love the
idea of learning a skill. Whata great, great way to kind of

(18:56):
get a feel for a little bitof everything doing that doing that driver job.
Yeah, if there's if there's ifthere's someone who has thought about getting
into the industry that if the driver'sstuff is slow, we might throw you
on a job site to you know, bring materials over to the cutter or
cleaning up or just watching. Becausewe've had people snowball from that driver position

(19:18):
into an install position, into aservice position, whatever it ends up being.
So it's it's a good opportunity, great opportunity for you right now,
pick up phone, gimm a call. They'd love to chat with you at
Legacy Exteriors six away two two onethree thousand, that's two two one three
thousand, looking to do that toany type of remodeling exterior there there for
your legacy exterior. He's been walkingaround the neighborhood and maybe you have seen
something to go that would look greaton our our house. Brock and the

(19:41):
team at Legacy Exteriors left to talkwith you. Otis. Give him a
call this morning, say had toNikki six away two two one three thousand.
That's two two one three thousand.Brocket's always a great CNI and Joe
this a whole day. Dan O'Donnellhas another chance for you to win a
thousand dollars next right here at thirteenten w Iba
