Niagara. Oh, good morning andhappy holidays to you. It's still

(00:53):
the holidays season. It's almost NewYear's and it's time for us to get
together and talks some football. That'sme and number six, number one in
your hearts, Nate Newton, who'sgot a very important thing to say,
and this week it might be alittle agitated, a little irritated when he
says, let me tell you something, man, you know what rad can't

(01:15):
nobody take away from the season.Man, You know, I know what
Christmas mean, I know what thebirth of Christ and all of that,
and so that can be not takenaway from Big Newon because that is who
I am and that is the walkthat I walk. So my Christmas was
beautiful with my family, my kids, my wife and everything was perfect.
And I hope everybody out there wasperfect and rad. How was your holidays?

(01:38):
Oh man, that's so. That'ssuch a great way to start this
Nate, especially following a Cowboys loss, and despite sitting there on Christmas Eve
watching the Cowboys lose with my sonin law, who's one of the biggest
Cowboy fans in the world, that'sa fantastic Christmas is a fantastic one,
and it was awesome, and itis such an important day, you know,

(02:00):
for those of us who are Christians, it is the day where it
all began. And so yeah,we appreciate the reason for the season,
no doubt about that. Now,was that the season in any sort of
way? On Christmas Eve? Whenthe Cowboys proved again they're beatable on the
road, You know what, It'sso many different ways. First of all,

(02:23):
I want to think Niagara, man, I mean, oh yeah,
yeah, especially this morning, Ihad a great flush bleed that bleed that
when I tell you that, that'strue, Oh man, that's true.
But where do you want to start? I mean, where do you want
to start with this? I'm gonnalet you lead this, my friend.
You tell me what. Let's startwith the biggest part of the picture,

(02:47):
which is the continuing inability to win, in particular the big game, but
really a lot of games on theroad. I mean, is this correctable?
Because it's pretty clear that Cowboys willhave to play at least one,
maybe two, possibly all three onthe road. Can they win? Can
they after what they've done throughout thisregular season, can they go on the

(03:12):
road and win in the playoffs? That is a big question. I think,
well, last year we won oneon the road. This is ugly
for the Dallas Cowboys because Jimmy Johnsonhas always told us it's not about especially
when you go on the road. It's not about the big plays because that

(03:34):
is what gives you momentum. It'sabout not making that bad play that takes
away all your momentum, hurts youwith your confidence, and puts everybody in
a bad situation. The Cowboys havenot been able to overcome themselves either through
penalties. Are not making the playand that comes down to and I hate

(03:57):
to say this because one thing I'vebeen a Cowboy fan since I was ten
eleven years old, and I startedout Cowboys had like twenty winning seasons,
twenty playoff season, so all Iknew was goodness. And when I got
to the Cowboys, we had alittle bit low, but the goodness started
up again. What I have realizedis that these guys mentally are not making

(04:26):
the plays. You have to believethat you can make the play during the
game at the biggest of moments.Right, I'm a race for right quick.
Like A lot of people want tosay the kid number forty olymp key,
Oh yeah, the fumble, No, oh, Parsons laid hit on

(04:53):
the court. No, let's goto the bottom line, and let's not
waste no time. You had threeminutes and twenty seven seconds that went down
and scored, gave you a onepoint lead. It was nineteen to twenty.
Am I correct? That was thescores three minutes and twenty twenty seven

(05:18):
seconds left. They get the ball, they run a play and I think
they get two or three yards, but we get a face mask. Ain't
that a bad play? Isn't thata negative play? It ain't about the
big plays you make, it's thenegative plays you make. Then they had

(05:41):
a pass, then they had arun, then they ran, ran,
ran, and then all of asudden, you have no more timeouts.
They run the clock down to thelittle nothing and they kick a field goal
to win. Now, the defensewas on the field, did not make
the proper plays and even had abad play. I'm not going at the

(06:05):
defense. They only gave up onetouchdown. They only gave up twenty two
points. So everybody say the offense, but you know what that's flipping on
the other side. Let's say theywere leading nineteen twenty to nineteen and they

(06:26):
had the ball and they had togo, and we had the ball and
we had to go down to score. We have not offensively, we have
not defensively proved that we're mentally strongto make that play or to stop that
play. As special teams included, when have we been when have we went

(06:48):
on the road recently against a goodteam and made that play, whether it
was offensively, whether it was defensively, our special teams, if you go
back and you check the records,we have always been able to make those
I'm talking about when I played,we were able to make those plays in

(07:10):
the earlier Orlandry days, they wereable to make them plays. I don't
know if it's a lack of belief, a lack of talent, or both,
but until you understand that you haveto make the right plays. For
weeks in and weeks out, wehave been complaining about the refs, so

(07:31):
you're telling me we lead the leaguein penalties because the referees then got together
and a little croner said, hey, let's make sure we just continue to
throw flags on the Cowboys, ordon't throw flags on the Cowboys. That's
hard for me to believe what wehave to do. You're not buying that.

(07:51):
You're not buying that conspiracy. Nah, Rad. The bottom line is
this right here. You have tomake the plays either defensively, offensively or
special teams as players and as coaches. I know I said I would let
you lead this, but it seemslike I've taken over. And I'm sorry,

(08:16):
but it's all good. But letme let me say this right here.
Number one, Number one, youhave CD lamb with not with one
hundred and one hundred of bout nineone hundred and nineteen yards. Yeah,
and all of that is in thefirst quarter. Ninety five of that is

(08:37):
in the first quarter and then hedisappears from the second quarter all the way
to the fourth. The insult, the injury. Tony Pollard twelve carries,
one carry. What these are yourbest players, Let's flip to the other

(09:00):
side. If you're gonna make yourstar players have the most big effect,
especially in the game, that's nipand tuck. Shouldn't it be in the
second half like Tarik Hill was likea train and moster was because they lost

(09:22):
the other kid, the other widereceiver. But this is this has been
one of the biggest problems, andI think coach mccar karth has to really
look at this so he don't repeathisself in history. Don't let our big
name players, our athletes, ourplaymakers disappear during the game. Ceedee,

(09:46):
Lamber appeared. Yeah, how muchof that, Nate is? Yeah,
obviously, you know the the Dolphinshave a pretty good the pretty stout defense
there, Yes, sir, abad man, vic Vangil, you're a
bad man, the blue builder.Yes, So how much of it is?
Oh my gosh, Lamb's killing us. Let's do something to disguise coverage.

(10:11):
Let's change our coverage on Lamb alittle bit. And they took him
out. And how much of itis just maybe play calling or maybe you
know, maybe some just flat outmistakes by either Docker or a decision maker
in some way. I mean, how much goes to either side of that.
I would like to say that Coachvanji Or is one of the top

(10:31):
defensive coordinators in the league, butit's sad to say offense is always trump
defense. You should never ever beable to take away totally, guys,
And what I mean by that isyou may have held him down to maybe
one or two catches three catches aquarter, but to disa pier for a

(10:54):
whole quarters at a time, No, sir, Rad Coach Fangio, I
love you, Blueprint Builder, You'rethe man. I'm not gonna take anything
but ceedee. Lamb is too coldblooded to be held out. That falls
solely on Dak and Coach McCarthy. If you have to throw him a smoke

(11:15):
screen, a quick screen, ifyou know you line them up in the
backfield, I don't care how youget him the ball. And I'll give
you example. The average offensive playerwide receiver. You can throw him a
five yard hitch and it may justbe a five yard hitch, but ceedee.
Lamb has shown you at Oklahoma allthe way into the NFL that if

(11:39):
you throw him a hitch or ifyou throw him a quick slant, big
things can happen. The majority ofthe time. You do not, as
a coach, as a quarterback, stifle your great your best players. CD
is borderline greatness. You know,we don't want to have to go like
Amari Coop will go all the wayto Leland to find out how cold blooded

(12:01):
Mark we knew he was that whenhe was here. Okay, Amari's gone.
You did that so CD can openit. So you can open the
doors with CD. Don't you,as an organization stifle him. We stifled
CD last week. We stifled TonyPark Tony Pollard last week. I mean,

(12:22):
you gave this guy ten million dollars. Now, at the beginning of
the year, I was all forten, fifteen, twenty touches, ramping
him up, getting ready for theplayoffs. But now you end up a
playoff run right now? That thingstarted two weeks ago with Philadelphia. You
know you in a playoff run andthis cat averaging twelve touches a game.

(12:48):
What are you waiting on? Timeis running out. This guy got to
see twenty five touches. You know. I had no problem with o limp
Gik getting that ball, you know, but you got to be aware that
you're working with a new guy asa quarterback, and you got to be
hey man, let's make sure weget this handoff correct. You know,

(13:09):
I'm down I was. I wasthinking about you and our discussion last week
on the show. They're down there, they're handing it to a big guy,
because you know, we talked abouthow you know, either Pollard or
either Doubtle, they're not great inthat bang through situation. I thought,
here they go, They're going togive it to a big, old fullback

(13:30):
and then he dropped it. Yeah, okay, it happened. But with
three minutes in twenty seven seconds, who had to lead? Did the Cowboys
not have boys defense? Through allof that, through the late hits,
through the penalties, through the fumble, you had to lead with three twenties?

(13:52):
With three If I'd have told youafter the first game the New York
Giants or the first game of theyear, I'd be like, hey man,
but you get the Cowboys defense theball on the opponent's twenty with three
twenty two. Don't The thing thatthis is coming down to, and I'm

(14:13):
gonna continue to repeat it, iscan the players, the big time players,
can they make the plays to winyou the games on the road.
I don't care the majority of thetime on the road, in playoff situations,
in playoff atmospheres, I don't carewhat no one says. If you're

(14:35):
looking for Limpke to win you thegame, something wrong with your team.
I'm looking for Tony Parler, I'mlooking for Dak, I'm looking for CD
Lamb, I'm looking for Cook, and I'm looking for my head coach,
my offensive coordinator. To get theseguys the ball. I don't care how
it goes. I don't care howit goes. You tell me one team

(14:58):
that don't take advantage of their topplayers I have where they can get them
the ball. And the only waythey don't get these guys the ball is
they triple and tripling in quadruple coverageon these guys. That's the only way
you don't get them the ball.Yeah. Yeah, So let's talk about

(15:18):
another theme from this that's been arecurring theme, UH with on the defensive
side of the ball, because onceyou started naming those guys who got to
make the players. I'm also thinking, you know, DeMarcus, I'm thinking
mikeh I'm thinking these guys on theother side of the ball, right.
But the one thing that's happening here, Nate and again, remember the media
for forty years, man, Ilove it when guys speak out in the

(15:41):
locker room and say something. AndMicah has been all right. He's been
saying I get held on every play, a lot of times, multiple times
on every play, and the media'staking it and run with it. And
they're finding pictures where, you know, one picture he's got like a face
mask, he got to arm aroundhim, he's got a guy chopped blocking
him, and you know, they'relike, look at he say, he's
right, He's right, And it'sfun. It's great, it's great for

(16:03):
the media. I gotta believe CharlesHaley got held on a lot of plays.
He never said that to us.I gotta believe you held you know,
the Reggie Whites of the world, and all these ever chance you got,
you think I didn't. So Imean sometimes I don't know, is
that Where do you stand on Michaelsaying you know, I get held on

(16:25):
every play. I'm gonna say this. He probably does, but I did
not. I have never compared himto Reggie White. I've never compared him
to Lawrence Taylor. I've never comparedhim to the great players of my past
that I played with, because theseguys found a way to get to the

(16:48):
ball regardless. My only thing Ican tell Michael Parsons, if you are
that great player that you profess tobe, keep playing. Let your coaches
fight your battle. Still speak up. I like the way he spoke up,
and he said it in the correctway. He did not just go

(17:08):
at the officials. I don't knowwhat he does on this podcast. I
don't watch it, but I knowwhat he said after the game, and
he handled hisself correctly. Continue toplay. Your coaches, got your coaches
during it before the game. Youknow, Jimmy used to do it.
Every coach do it. Hey man, that right tackle, bro ooh them

(17:29):
hands outside or I left tackle, but they really looked bad. You know.
Just talk to the reps, youknow, put a seed in their
mind. I can't tell Parsons intoday's NFL, today's society and the whole
You go out and you say whatyou want to say, you know,
you know, if it's a conspiracyagainst you, then you know, I
don't know. Yeah, but greatplayers figure out a way, along with

(17:57):
their coaches. Maybe y'all have todo a little bit more five man rush,
you know, so and obvious passesdowns, Maybe you have to do
you know, man over the center, man over both guards, man over
both. You know, maybe youhave to go five man rush. You
already play single high safety and youdo a lot of man to man coverage,

(18:18):
so you ought to be able todo a lot of five man rush.
So I don't know what the answeris. I can't tell his kid
not to say what he feels ishappening to him. I don't watch enough
film to know. I've seen himbeing held, I mean, and some
of it is bad, but I'vealways seen it where he's been single blocked

(18:38):
too and he didn't get to thequarterback. So that's not my job,
you know, to be on thatcrusade far against But you handle your business,
Michael. Let the coaches help youout where they can, and I
just continue to play. Continue toplay as hard as you can and be
the great as you can. Youwere an outspoken person in the locker room

(19:03):
back in the days. You spokeyour mind, which we loved. That's
why we were around you all thetime. Did you guys get coached on
that nate like where to draw theline, where to stop, what to
say, what not to say?Or was that or did you talk about
it amongst yourselves or how did thatevolve for you? This thing about ten
years ago or twelve years ago evolvedwith the refs. The refs used to

(19:29):
be not seen. I heard theyregulated the game with now everybody knowing the
percentages, the you know what thisref does, what his crew does,
what they do who at home.In a way, it's not only in

(19:51):
the NFL, It's in the NBA. Look at Paul in the ref with
his situation. It's probably some umpsin baseball. They guys be like,
oh my god, we in asociety have made regulators the key to every
game. You know, we've maderefs uh ed Hockey League his son,

(20:18):
and I mean it don't matter. We have made refs big in this game
now. And I know they arehuman. I know that they don't mind
turning on their mics speaking and talking. So they got kids too, Granddaddy,
We saw you, Daddy. Imean so does that swell call or

(20:41):
does that make a call? Idon't know. You know, it's just
like you know, people saying parsonsneed to be quiet because these reefs are
human. Okay, if we're gonnaput that human aspect on it, that
they are parsons, is hurting theirfeelings and calling them out, Well don't.
We got a few refs that wantto be seeing on TV, that
want to step up so they kidscan see them like our kids see us

(21:04):
or the fans see us. Andyou know, can you imagine a ref
say, hey, man, hego to work on Saturday. I'll be
going to work on Monday. Heybro, But we saw that call you
made. Wow, Man, thatwas something else. Yeah, man,
I had to do. I don'tknow what the ref does. You know.
I know they're supposed to have theutmost integrity. They're supposed to have

(21:26):
the best, the best background checks. Uh. And I like to leave
it like that. Me personally,I like to think that these guys have
great integrity. The game is sofast, the guys are so big.
They may miss a lot and theybut when they call something, it's pretty
close and almost a lot of timesaccurate. So I'm not here to knock

(21:48):
a ref, but I do noticeright here Arson's boy, uh, he's
he's doing a lot to expose them. Whether that's good or we'll see down
the road. But you know what, Parsons, you better play your best
man because he come Detroit and theyare phizzle and they are mean. Yeah

(22:10):
yeah, I know, I know, I want to get to Detroit in
one second. But I do knowwhere where ed hockey Lee used to get
those speeches from people. Hey,man, I saw your call. It
was at the gym, and hewas in there and he never had a
leg day. He was in thereworking. Oh yeah, oh yeah,
man, I mean he's in adumb ball. He didn't like man,

(22:30):
I promise you no, that's sotrue. Let's talk about Detroit because they
had a big win this past weekto get to eleven wins on the season,
which is you know, I meanjust it's been since ninety three since
they won a division, Nate, thirty years since they won the division.
They're feeling very good about themselves. But I'm you know, I grew up

(22:52):
there, as you know, I'ma lifelong Lions fan. I'm not believing,
man, I'm still thinking it's fool'sgold just because of this huge history
I have with them. You lookat it more objectively than I do.
What do you think of this teamcoming in here? Dan Campbell? Dan
Campbell, Dan Campbell has done afew of the things that I see Coach

(23:15):
Johnson did. You cannot tell methat anybody would be saying Jared Golf is
a good quarterback. You couldn't whenthey traded from this kid from the Rams.
You couldn't tell me the Detroit fanswas like, Wow, well we

(23:37):
got something special coming in here. But Dan Campbell did. You couldn't tell
me that the offensive line, theway he was putting it together, that
people was happy because you could havebeen drafting wide receivers, you could have
been drafting running backs, but DanHampbell did. You couldn't tell me the

(24:03):
way that defense was two years ago, you know, running around looking rampant,
looking raggedy, not knowing where togo. You couldn't tell me the
fans didn't believe in that. Theybelieved in that defense, But Dan Campbell
did. I'm telling you, I'veheard some of the stories behind closed doors,
how he never has a bad day, how he's always positive, how

(24:27):
he's always got time for his playersor ownership to tell him in the direction
he wants to go for this team, his unwavering intensity. You know,
players to tell when you're fake.Ain't never fake about Dan Campbell. This

(24:47):
team is who he is. Aphysical, hardworking team. You look at
their stats defensively, they have noover We're all like last week we played
Miami, they had forty eight sacks. They had four guys, three guys
with eight and eight with seven sacksamore, they had four guys with five sacksomore.

(25:14):
I mean they had fourteen interceptions ofthirteen fumbles. This team was just
Miami was it? You know, you know, but Dan Campbell. The
thing that you can say about theirdefense, they give up ninety yards rushing
the game three point seven. Theyhard nose, They physical guys be where

(25:37):
they're supposed to be. And forthe majority of the time, they getting
guys off the field. What Imean by that they getting offenses off the
field. It's thirty whatever they're gettingyou off the field. It ain't so
much to turnovers. It ain't somuch the fumbles because I think they only
got six or seven fumble recoveries. It's that they right now he's still building

(25:59):
his team, and he just gettingyou off the field remind me a lot
of Jimmy. That's how we startedout, you know, just get off
the field, thirty thirty whatever.Get off the field. First and second
downs was our biggest downs. Untilyou start getting those playmakers, those guys
that can actually intercept a lot ofballs. You learn their offense, the
defense so well, so now youknow where you can take your chances.

(26:22):
This team is sturdy, this teamis hard. You don't have to believe
in them. You don't have tobelieve in him. They had some funny
losses, like to the Bears thirtythirteen, you know, in week fourteen,
but they have lost the good teamsSeattle, in week two, thirty

(26:42):
seven, thirty one overtime, Baltimore, they got thrashed by Baltimore. But
so the San Francisco, you know, they lost the Green Bay, their
nemesis, you know, in weektwelve, twenty two, twenty nine.
You have weird losses sometimes rad butthis is a physical team. Like everybody

(27:07):
was promoting how the Cowboys never losetwo in a row, you know,
and I was telling people, you'rein a part of the season now where
It ain't about your stats. It'sabout December football. It's about pre playoff
football. It's about what do youdo in December because you have went through
the ups and downs. Now itis time to put everything together so you

(27:33):
can start making a run for theplayoffs. And this is what Detroit seemed
to have done for themselves. Theyare winning games. Some of them are
not pretty, but they're winning games. They're eleven and four. You know,
all they gotta do is win moreand more and Fordy Nina may lose
one more, they could be having. You know what I'm saying, they

(27:55):
have their stuff is more realistic tome than Dallas because everybody keeps saying that
Philly and Philly and Philly, butDallas ain't winning. But see Detroit,
people can say if because they're winning. They're eleven and four, we're ten
and five. You know we're saying, okay, we need for Philadelphia to

(28:18):
lose, but you got to keepwinning. You're not upholding your end of
the bargain. What's you call it? Have won their division? They are
they come for champs. They elevenand four. It ain't nothing green Bay
or Temple or not Temple, butGreen Bay or the rest of them.
Guys can do the bar. Itain't nothing they can do. They fold.

(28:41):
Yeah. Yeah, it seems tome along those lines, Natas I
look at the two teams matching upthis Saturday night at at and T,
it seems to me though, thatthe Cowboys have more talent. True,
they have Michael Parsons on defense, right, y'all have a kid, y'all

(29:03):
drafted Aiden Hutchins. Oh yeah,a couple of years ago you had a
big kid out of Michigan. He'sa good player. Now he's a ball
is, he's a shot call up. He's getting interceptions, he bats down
balls. He got two forced fumbles. No man, no nah, nah

(29:23):
got about seven eight. See,I'm gonna tell you something. Everybody's talking
about pressure and everybody, well,Hutchins does his thing. It's another kid.
Let me get him right, numberfifty four Limb McNeil. Yeah.
These dudes making plays, man,and they're helping their team make plays.

(29:45):
They getting off the field on thirddown. This is this is where I
just I feel so bad for Cowboyfans. Talent without direction and discipline,

(30:07):
that's not win you games. Alittle less talent, a little more direction
and discipline wins you games. Jimmyused to tell us, fellas, all
I'm asking you to do it's cutdown on the penalties, No dumb penalties.

(30:32):
Study your playbook, Understand what youhave to do, and no one
can beat us because we're more talented, he said. But if you don't
study, then you go out hereon this road, especially on the road,
and you have these dumb penalties,we lose the game. Fans are

(30:53):
so caught up in the forest. We're the Dallas Cowboys. We're going on
the road. We have more talent, we got fans coming in by the
millions, buying up all the tickets. On the other but your players are
not disciplined. They're not paying attentionto details. So when we get in

(31:18):
a close game, a dog fight, and we come up short, then
we start to say, well,if this team would do this for us,
if we can just pay Philly off. See, I feel like we
happing to need to pay Philly offmore than we need to pay the reps
offs because we keep waiting on whatto see what Philly gonna do, instead

(31:38):
of the Dallas Cowboys taking care oftheir business. Yeah, you listen to
every show everywhere that is cowboy favorites, and you hear about I'll be like,
it's Philly on our payroll. Whatdo we do Because all I hear
about is if Philly do this andPhilly do that, well, Dallas just

(32:01):
win their games. Concentrate, andI know coach McCarthy is concentrating on his
troops. But we as fans gotto start saying. I hear you,
Parsons, but it was three minutesand twenty seven seconds left in the game.

(32:22):
We needed a sack. We neededa fumble. I hear you.
The kid back in there with eightfive and six big picks and all of
that. You know, we neededone. We needed to stop Neville Gallimore.
This is what I agonized over thatgame against Miami. I did the

(32:49):
media thing. I said, thedefense only gave up twenty two points.
Yeah, oh, they only gotscored on once. I said to myself,
man, and Dak was under therest all day. He made playoff
the play, he came down thestretch, took off all the way except
three minutes and twenty seven seconds.Oh my, I went through all of

(33:13):
that right now, But it camedown the Jimmy Johnson locked into my head.
You hit me rass and Jimmy Johnsonlocked into my head. Who's gonna
make the play with three minutes andtwenty seven seconds left in the game.
Yeah, yep, and Trek HealToreek Heal wind up making the plays to

(33:37):
get his kicker, him in,his quarterback and his kicker the field the
game winning field goal. That's whomade the play the Miami Dolphins. Yeah.
Yeah, you have mentioned Jimmy Johnsonquite a few times in this show,
and I don't think there's any coolincidence that he is on your mind

(33:57):
and in your mind. I knowhe's there all the time, like on
your like on your shoulder, likethose little it's a good jim and the
band Jimmy. I've seen both ofthem. Yeah, So, but I
know he's there all the time. But especially this week, man, because
he's going into the Ring of Honor, and I know, especially for all
you guys that played for him,Uh, this is overdue and it is
uh, it is long awaited, and I'm sure it's going to be a

(34:21):
very special night for all of youas well as for him. Yes,
I wish all of his players thatespecially the guys that went through the hard
times with Jimmy uh, and thetwo Super Bowls. A lot of guys
won't get a chance to be there, but hey, man, they'll be
there at heart and in spirit.Uh. Coach Johnson meant so much to
the programmed him and Jerry built builtthis city, man, you know.

(34:44):
And and and they revamped an organizationthat was financially, mentally and spiritually just
wrecked. And they came in andthey and they put their heads together.
Man, two Hawkins off boys anddid what they had to do. And
they built this thing. And youknow, and as two alpha males normally

(35:06):
do, their knockheads and Coach Johnsonmoved on and for years and years,
you know, Coach Johnson went Hallof Fame, mister Jones Hall of Fame.
And then here we go to guys, both Hall of Fame guys.
Two guys that revitalized a whole organizationcouldn't get together. Man, when they

(35:30):
got together and announced this thing,I was just so happy. I was
the lady. We was doing ashow at the time. I don't know
what game. It was a coupleof weeks ago, and I just wanted
to stop and talk about Coach Johnsonand all those good times. Man,
I'm so excited that he's going in. I'm so excited that I will be
there, and I'm just so upsetthat a lot of my guys won't be

(35:51):
there to hug coach Johnson, toshake his hand, or either to cuss
him out, because you know,it was a love hate with coach Johnson.
Half of them the guys hate him, and the rest I'm loving.
I'm one of them guys that lovehim because he he to help me take
my career to a new level. So I'm one of the many guys that
love him. You know, heNational Championship, super Bowls, uh Ring

(36:19):
Honor, Hall of Fame, probablyin the college Hall of Fame. I
mean, how many guys have thosetype of accolades behind them? You know
now I've been on Fox, folks, man, Yeah, you know,
so, I mean, how manyguys have that type of stuff behind them

(36:42):
like that? Man? I mean, you know, like I said,
you know, my glory to goto God. Man. But you know,
we can't say uh good things aboutthose who are on this earth like
Jimmy Man who sacrificed, like likeI tell people, he lost a lot,
you know, uh, families andmothers and fathers and just because he
was so focused. You know,he may look back and wish he would

(37:06):
have did it in a different way. But we are where we are right
now, and that's him, Finnto get this thing on Saturday, the
Ring on honor man. And thegreatest thing we can do for him now
is winning this game. I mean, I am so nervous because normally when
you have ring ceremonies, ring ofhonors, hall of fame, severe normally
you lose the game for some reason, even if the players have nothing to

(37:30):
do with Coach Johnson. They don'teven know this. Man, it seemed
like you lose the game because theother team be like we'll show them,
you know, having an extra longhalftime, or they talking about this Jimmy
Johnson. Who is this Jimmy Johnson? You know, like hey, yeah,
so hmm, here we go.Man, love you Coach Johnson.
That my boy rad you know, have my boy, that my boy be

(37:54):
Nate Man. He let me beme. And what more can you ask
for? Coach Johnson? You know, like I said, I used to
tell everybody. He say, youknow, I got rules and uh and
I got our priorities and I judgeevery player not the same, so get
away with some things. It's okay. Yeah, is not equal in his

(38:19):
book. No, no, youfall asleep in a meeting, you get
cut. Oh yeah, I'll gentlywake yep hey yeah, hey, hey,
tell him and he moved to theside and we have a creak in
his neck when he wake up.That's fantastic. Yeah, So we're really
it would be so nice to do. You get a win and with uh

(38:42):
now two losses in a row, team hadn't lost two in a row in
two years. You feel like there'sa I mean, there's a fight,
right, there's a fire in theseguys to make sure they don't lose three.
Plus they've been so good at home, right, So we're feeling good
about this week with all those factors. The thing that I have so much

(39:05):
respect for Dan Campbell. Yeah, and like I can tell people, if
you really want to get out ofthe Cowboys, run the ball and be
stubborn. Every team that has ranthe ball, every good team, and
I think Dan Campbell has a goodteam, have been stubborn. They try
to play us close, they comewith a two two high saftests, they

(39:29):
make Dak have to take an extraread here and there they try to slow
down our offense and they are stubborn. And we'll know in the first half
if coach Campbell is gonna be stubbornabout running that ball. But if we
get a ten to twelve point lead, we're back doing I think the Cowboys

(39:50):
are back. They trying to getpressures and sacks and all of that.
But the better teams in this league, they're like the thing that I tell
people right about now, it's notabout who got the talented team, It's
about who's not willing to take chancesand make dumb mistakes. Dan Campbell's team
is not gonna make dumb mistakes now, at least I haven't seen it on

(40:14):
film yet. We all get penalties, but they're not gonna be in crucial
times. And what the Cowboys haveto do is they at home they feel
comfortable. I guess they feel biggerat home than they do it on the
road, so that you know they'llbe pumped up. They'll be hype.
But these penalties they got to stopour offensive line. They haven't played well

(40:37):
the last two weeks. Y'all havethis Hutchinson kid and the other kid McNeil.
They gonna get after us Man,they gonna get after the Dallas Cowboys,
and if we're not careful, Detroitcan make things very difficult. That's
home our way. Nobody cares aboutyour home record. Now, I'm being

(40:58):
honest. It's December. I'm justbeing honest. And you know this.
One thing I like about this podcastis I don't have to uh you know,
I'm giving you the real don't careabout ye the Cowboys ain't lost and
did it? Come on, bro, this hat this ain't this ain't this
ain't the time of year for this. You know two days ago, three

(41:22):
days though, when it was Christmas. Yeah, that was the season.
Yeah, you bet jolly be happy. Them dudes don't care about Miami.
Ain't carrying about the Cowboys. Don'tlose too in the row. They was
trying to win because they trying tocatch Kansas City. They got goals too.
Detroit ain't trying to hear this,Detroit. It's got a realistic goal,

(41:42):
and the realistic goal is don't slipforty nine ers do will be the
team that's sitting home with the firstround by That is more realistic than us.
Hey, Philadelphia, we hate you, but can you do us a
favor. Can you lose one moregame? Come on, Cowboys? Where
is our Texas pride? Where wherewe do things? Being in Texas where

(42:07):
we ain't got the rope out andwe wrangling everybody in horse and healing everybody.
Man, Come on, we usedto we used to brand long horns.
Now now we getting bread. Comeon, bron come on man,
yes, yes, this is whatI'm talking about right here, Nate,
And you said it so well, man, this is not the stuff this

(42:30):
is. This is Nate unplugged, right, yes, this show man.
Right, let me tell you something. Nate gives it to your real and
we all look, we're in themedia. We have bosses, right,
we have things we have to say. Time to keep it canceled week,
you know what I'm saying. Yeah, but man, this is Nate unplugged
because I ain't gonna rein. Youin and you go. It's time to

(42:54):
play smart football. It's time toplay hard football. It's December. You've
lost Buffalo, Miami, don't loseDetroit. Stop. You have to win
a game. You have to getready to run, make a run in
the playoffs. And I'm not ifI hear one mode. If we're going

(43:22):
to be where we want to betwenty almost thirty years. Hey, fellas,
some of y'all weren't even born.Hi, y'all was under the age
of ten. You don't know whereyou want to be because you haven't gotten
close enough to smell where you wantto be. No stop with where you

(43:45):
want to be. It's alright towant to be in a super Bowl.
It's all right to wish to bein a super Bowl. But you have
to play to be in the superBowl. We have not played the last
two weeks. With three minutes andtwenty seven seconds left in the Miami game,
to be in a super Bowl, you have to start winning those type

(44:08):
of games. That's fantastic night. We've done flushed another one thanks to Niagara.
Man. That is yes, thatis great. I'm driving myself and
to go flu and the flush. You got some flushing to do. Ahwesome,
Nate. We'll look forward to doingthis again next week. We'll be

(44:29):
hoping for a great night where youget to see coach and and uh and
and and the Cowboys win. Allright, thank you, rad you have
a good one to tell you.Chriss Hey, dub Network, Merry Christmas.
