(00:54):
sixty one, and what a differencein a week makes. Nate. Look
at that camera, look at thatcamera and give us the name of this
show. Let me tell you something, man, it was a powerful week
this past weekend. It's a powerfulweek coming up for the Dallas Cowboy.
It's good to see you, JohnRedigan. Man, it's great to see
you, Nate, and it wasgreat to see you in the Jimmy Johnson

(01:15):
video, the tribute video at halftime. I didn't catch you anywhere else on
the field or anything but We'll talkabout all that Jimmy festivities in a minute,
but man, first things first,Nate, and we've been saying this
for weeks. Let's don't worry abouta math equation about how the forty nine
ers have to lose this and theEagles have to lose that. Let's just
control our own destiny and lo andbehold, Cowboys win Nate, and they

(01:38):
win the NFC East and they securethe second seed in the NFC playoffs.
I mean, that is that isall any team hopes for, right,
Yeah, all you have to dois go out and win against Washington.
You know, rad It is stillnot enough for the fans. Even at

(01:59):
Jimmy John since Deal, everybody wassaying, if the Eagles do this and
the Eagles do that, And Isay, hold on, fellas, I
say hold on. I said,do y'all understand we have a game tonight
against a very good Detroit team.We must win that game in order for
the Philadelphia game to mean anything. And you know, people actually stopped and

(02:22):
saying hmmm, I'm like, yes, yes, our media has done a
fabulous job of diverting the fact thatthe Cowboys have to win. The reason
the Cowboys are in this position toclose out and have a meaningful eighteenth game

(02:44):
or seventeenth game, whatever it is, or the eighteenth week, is that
they continue to win. And thatwas that was That was a hell of
a game. A lot of peopledidn't like this Detroit game and the way
it played out, but I lovedit, and I loved the way it
played out. Rad I really so. And what specifically did you like the

(03:06):
fact that it came down to,you know, crunch time like that,
and it was like it almost hada playoff feel, especially at the end.
You know, the thing is,let's go back all the way to
Buffalo, who blew you out?Who embarrassed you this late in the season,
after twelve weeks. You got embarrassed. Then you come back and you
play a close one to Miami andthey and they win it by a field

(03:30):
goal. And then you come backand had this weird game. You could
not run the ball at all.Ceedee Lamb goes off the chain. Dak
is running for his life. Peoplemaking big plays here and there. Your
defense is playing great. Parsons isis making an impact besides sack. Besides

(03:50):
sacks, he's hitting people behind theline versus the run and Detroit told you
you're not running the ball. Youcan give that up. That's either with
Tyron Smith or without Tyrone Smith. You're not running the ball. And so
this was a dogfight, up anddown, up and down. You can
say McCarthy mismanaged and all of that. At the end of the game,

(04:15):
you won the game. This isthis is listen, let me tell you
something. All you people who keepsaying you know football, you watch football.
I've played football. If you playfootball, whether it's Pop Warner,

(04:35):
Pee Wee, college, high school, Division one, Division two, if
you play competitive football, you shouldknow that you're going to have all embarrassment
games, blowout games, or whereyou win where you lose games that is
not explainable. And when you,at the end of the day win those

(04:59):
game, it puts you in positionto be successful at the end of the
year. This was a weird game. It's no rhyme or reason to this
game, but for once in thelast two three years, the Cowboy won
a weird game and it put themin a special position to have possibly not

(05:20):
one, but two games at homewhere you are an undefeated team, where
you have an unbelievable confidence. Whatis the problem. Now you know who
you are. Yeah, you knowwhat you have to do. Just beat

(05:40):
Washington, not by thirty points,by one point. Play it cleanly,
no penalties, no major turnovers, show the word that you can play a
clean game, a good game,be the team you're supposed to be,
and then go into the playoffs witha good feeling and get and get home
games in the playoffs, right.I mean, if they do what you

(06:01):
just said, they will have aplayoff home games, which is clearly there's
a difference now as a lifelong DetroitLions fan, but then you know,
I've been a Cowboys fan for thelast thirty five years, so you know
I have mixed loyalties on that game. But I'll say this, I told
you, I know, I toldyou off the year. I think I
may have told you on the show. I was afraid that the Lions this

(06:24):
whole season. I kept fearing itwas fool's goal, right, that they
were a team that was looking goodhere and there, but they were just
going to disappoint the Lions fans atthe end of the year game. I'll
tell you what that game showed me, Nate, Lions are pretty good because
I thought the Cowboys played great, and the Lions obviously had a chance to
tie the game up right there atthe end. Let me tell you something,

(06:47):
Dan Campbell made a major mistake. He did. You had all the
momentum, coach, You had allthe momentum. You took the ball with
minutes left on the clock, yourfirst round pick tighty in march down the
field with your quarterback. You blankedout on the first attempt. Right then

(07:12):
you should have put your ego tothe side and say, hey, I
got momentum. I can take thisto overtime. They cannot run the ball.
We can double team ced and makesomeone else beat us. This is
one time coach Campbell let his arrogancecash something he couldn't could and that's a
loss to wards. Just team. You try to be slick, you try

(07:33):
to confuse the Cowboys, wind upconfusing the refs and cast yourself opportunity to
win the game and a shot atowning the whole NFC and having a week
off. So he may have learnedvalue but less And yeah, I'm sure
he daddy's a young coach. Let'sdive into that confuse the Cowboys versus confuse

(07:56):
the refs thing. I get,I've heard that same narrative. I wonder,
though, how can it really confusethe Cowboys if there's two or three
or four guys over there, howevermany you send, if the referee comes
up and says to the defense, sixty eight as he should Ever, as
we've you know, Dan Campbell contendshe should have sixty eight is eligible,

(08:18):
right Like, you can send thewhole team over there if you want,
but the defense is going to betold which guy is eligible. I don't
even understand the wisdom of trying toconfuse the Cowboys. Happened last year was
Dan Campbell got did in by GreenBay the same way. But they the
play was successful because their defense havegot knocked the ball down, so the

(08:43):
play was so he let uh huhoh okay. So what they did before
the game was they went to thereferen say, hey, number seven is
going to be eligible in this certainplay and uh, but they want to
leave out sixty eight When you wentto a different formation, even though sixty

(09:07):
eight was that end of the line, You did not tell the ref when
we go into this certain formation, then sixty eight become eligible. Because if
they would have told the ref thatthe ref would have told the Cowboys and
the whole stadium seventy would start outas the eligible player, but in the
end, sixty eight would be youreligible tackle. They cannot hide. That

(09:30):
rule was put in place to keepwhere it could be no deception, so
you would have no unfired advantage onoffense to let your to trick the defense.
They after the defense didn't want tocover six sixty eight after that,
but they had the option if thecoach Campbell to say, at the end
of the day, sixty eight wouldbe the eligible man. Now it's up

(09:52):
to the Cowboys to say, Okay, we're gonna take it. Forget seventy
because he gonna be in motion,or they will have some type of motion
that would not let him be theeligible guy and we will have sixty eight.
So they probably explain that before thegame, but when they came in

(10:13):
the game, even those sixty eightran up and talked to the ref which
we don't know what was said.Evidently you didn't let the world know that
sixty eight was gonna be the hotman. So and so consequently the Cowboys
are like, yes, sixty eightcatches the pass, but if the Cowboys
knew he was eligible. Yes,they're probably covering yeah obviously right, yes,
now you know probably they would havecovered him. See yeah. Yeah.

(10:37):
One thing that I like and Iwant to thank Dan Campbell is for
all your toughness and all your gruffness. You just had to stop in Dallas,
and that messed you up because nowyou want to be the smartest man
in the house, and that hurtsyou. Coach Cabo, I love you,
I think I wish your team muchsuccess. I like you toughness,

(11:01):
but you know what, Cuteness ain'tone of your things. Man. You
can look like Magnan pr all youwant, but cuteness ain't one of your
things. Baby, No, no, no, I swear he looked like
he eat up some children after thatgame. Yes, that was oh no,
because he thought he had out slickedeverybody and he might wind up.
And then you you so set onI'm tougher than the Cowboys. I'm meaning

(11:26):
in the Cowboys. Instead of kickingthat field goal, pulling your team in
and saying we got that momentum,we could not run the ball. Rn.
They could not run the ball. This before tyrun, I mean Tyler
Smith went out and we could notrun that ball. Right, so,
and y'all had the hot hand, your quarterback was on fire, your tight

(11:48):
end couldn't be stopped. You know, sometimes you gotta you know, somebody
got a whispering your hey, coach, kick this field goal. We got
momentum, you know. So.But anyway, uh, his his,
his arrogance gave us opportunity to winthe game. No. One twice,
three times. Yeah, And that'swhat I also took away from this game,

(12:09):
Nate. It sounds like you didtoo, right. The Lions are
that team man, like the fortynine ers, like the Bills. Right,
that smacked you in the mouth.Yes, And I thought the Cowboys,
you know, unlike against the fortynine ers and Bills, they were
right there with it. They wereright there for it. They had no
problem with that approach. Yeah, they didn't, man, they you know,

(12:31):
you know, it's just it justamazed me. And And when you're
in the media world like we aresometime, well a lot of the times,
over halftime, I back up,I back up, and I rely
on my instincts and what I see, what I feel as a as an
ex player, And I'm saying tomyself, we had no running game that

(12:56):
was non existence bro. They onlyrealize that how valuable CD is. Now
you're gonna have multiple options going intothe playoff because now you can you can
get cooked the ball, you canget Tober the ball, you can get
ferguson the ball, because they're gonnabe like they gonna throw this ball to
CD. You see this one thingI like about the NFL and about the

(13:18):
NBA and about Major League Baseball. You can't fake at us, not the
real teams. You can't. Youcan't line CD up and run them all
over the place and not throwing theball. That does not put fear in
nobody's hard but you put fear intheir hearts when you have a game like
this. Now you gonna have towhen CD get in that slotter he motioned

(13:39):
across the back of that that formation, you gotta you're gonna have to know
where your help coming from. Now, Boom Cook's gonna hit you, now,
my man, Jake Ferguson's gonna hityou. Now. Now you're playing
with house money because now the biggest, the biggest jackpot in the house is
on fire. That's CD. Lambyep, yep, yeah. And look
he you know past a couple ofMichael Irvin records, yes, right,

(14:03):
yes, and records that have stoodsince ninety five. That's significant, man,
that is quite an accomplishment. Yeh. If you if you're in the
same breath with the Hall of Famer, your teammate, your bud, Michael
Irving. Yes. The thing Iwatched CD growing, I watched a lot
of guys they wasn't for CD.I was with CD ever since. I
seen him like baller up every year. It's like his coming out games was

(14:26):
against bellor every year, you know, and when he played against Baylor,
He's like, this kid is isawesome. And so even last year I
was selling people just give him time. In the second half of the season,
he caught fire and his kid.The thing that gets you is and

(14:46):
I'm gonna go back to the beginningof the season when they was learning this
new offense, this new offense. It wasn't nothing to learn from me because
it was all about CD lamb.See you listen to this right here.
Every team has an impact player. Some have two. I'll start with the

(15:09):
Boombox Boys, the forty nine ers. Let me tell you something. I'm
gonna start with the Boombox Boys. They have two players that really scares me.
Christian McCaffrey and Deebo Samuels. Everybodylikes Kittle, which I do too.

(15:30):
I wish it was on I team. Everybody like ayu which I do.
Two kids got over thirteen hundred yardsaveraging seventeen eighteen yards to catch sevent
tds awesome. But when you wantto make something happen, you give it
to McCaffrey. And when you reallywant to make it happen real hard,

(15:52):
you give it to Deebo Samuels. That dude is a beast. That dude
is a beast. If something happenedto McCaffrey, they world would not crumble
because they got they got Deebo Samuels. They world would not crumble, right,
you know? All right, Solet's go down the list then,
Yes, who is who are thosetwo for the Eagles? For you?
Those is number eleven? The bigwire receiver CJ. Is that as I'm

(16:18):
saying, because I got the nameright, that guy and uh in their
center? Oh yeah, that guyin their center. As long as they
got that guy in the center,Kelsey, they got a chance. Man.
Uh wow, those two guys aretough. Now. I don't know
if if the wide receiver, thebig wire receiver, I don't know if

(16:41):
he can stay focused. He's he'sstarting to get selfish and and and and
the way he's thinking because he's consumedabout how many balls he get. And
I and I and I have noproblem with that, because the office of
coordinator in the quarterback that I toldyou for Dak this week, how you
gonna forget your bread and how yougonna forget your bread and butter? You

(17:03):
know, how you gonna forget bro, how you gonna forget what makes you
happen? Uh? But those arethe two guys that I like. There
always go back to Chelsea? Yeahyeah, how about the Lions? Then?
Is it just those two? Youmentioned that that y'all have a defensive
end? Okay? From Aiden Hutchinson? Aiden is your do all tough guy,

(17:27):
mean guy, just just he's thatguy. And then your coach,
your head coach, Wow, headcoach is just so arrogant, so uh
so domineering okay yeah yeah yeah yeahyeah. And then and then the Cowboys

(17:48):
you've already said c D, Sowho's our other one? Don't have it?
Okay, because you have to bemore than just a great after lead
with me. You know, everybodysaid, well why not Parsons. For
the first time I saw Parsons wasimpacting the game without making a sack,

(18:11):
and that was last week. Hehelped against the run and I was so
excited. That was one of thethings I took out of that game.
Now can he do that weekend andweek out? Can he do that in
the playoffs? See, it ain'talways all about the player with me,
See, because I've been around greatness. I played, I played against greatness,

(18:38):
and I see what greatness does. And Ceedee Lamb walks out on the
field in the cornerbacks and the safeties, and the dB coach and the linebacker
coach say, okay, we haveten formations. We got to know where

(19:00):
he's at every play. Do hecan hurt us? Yeah, Brandon,
I as great as he is,don't require that. The only way he
gets this single coverage that has fromeighteen point yards? Where's Deebo Samuels,
where's McCaffrey? He he you know, you know, we some guys are

(19:21):
great, but some guys are greatbecause yeah, you know so. Yeah,
in the case of the forty nineers, there is much more of
an old you know, for thepick your poison, Yes kind of thing.
Right, the Cowboys don't have enoughof poison offensively either. We don't
have that poison. And the reasonwe don't have that poison is because we

(19:45):
don't have a consistent, solid offensiveline. Right. I talked to one
of the young guys that produces alot of our shows, was named Caden
Gates, and he said, thismorning, where did the Ravens come from?
Wow? They have no skill positionguys. They got Zay Flowers,

(20:08):
they got the quarterback. I say, don't stop, and they got well,
they don't have a tight end.I say, don't stop. Yeah,
And he said, what are youtalking about? They have a defense
and an offensive line. They havea defense and offensive line. I say,
I tell people, let me say, I cannot say this enough.

(20:33):
If you give me a solid offensiveline or a great offensive line, or
you giving me a solid defensive line, are a great defensive line. I
don't have to have both on eachside, but if they're solid, I
can make my skill posiness. Yourplayers do wonders. I can make my
skill position. Would you rather beone receiver away from the AFC NFC Championship

(21:00):
Game or would you rather be fouroffensive lineman away from not even making the
playoffs, because that is what happens. When you don't have two or three
good offensive linemen, a two orthree sound defensive lineman, you are all
you barely making it into the playoffs. Yeah, if dak is your to
your point, people, you knowyour guy wants to say they don't have

(21:22):
any skill position players. Man,I think their quarterback is underrated. Why
do people want to hate on thisguy? You know what, he likes
the guy, But this is thedeal. You had offensive coordinators that did
not understand this kid. My onlyissue ever been with Lamar Jackson is I

(21:45):
could count on him for interception orturnover in the biggest of games, when
it's for the division lead, whenit's for a home field advantage, when
it's for are just winning your car, your deal, he gonna turn it
over. That ain't happening this yearbecause they went out and got an offensive

(22:10):
coordinator I think from Alabama. Peoplecheck it out. Hey, I really
don't care about the Ravens, butI'm just telling you what I see.
I think they got an offensive coordinatorfrom Obama that understands an athletic quarterback that
can throw and he's telling everybody thisis the first play, this is one

(22:32):
A. And when he starts tomove around as one B, your job
is to find the open area.Your job is to make sure you're doing
your job to help him. Andthat's what everybody's done. They've given him
one or two reads. They ain'ttrying to make him have a thousand reads.
And that's what that is what DanCampbell has done for for the kid

(22:59):
golf. You know, I've alwaysliked the golf. But yeah, don't
ask your quarterback not to be something. He's not like that. At the
beginning of the year, a yearago, two years ago, Oh,
statistically, Statistically, statistics don't wingames. No players and situations win games.

(23:21):
And I was told my beautiful wife, Michelle, I said, baby,
for the last four or five weeks, everybody's be talking about how great
offensive line been playing. I needthey need to go check the all twenty
two Dak has been and I'm talkingabout I'm talking about passing. This dude
has been doing a hell of ajob of getting out away some major sacks

(23:42):
against Miami. They almost hit usin the they almost hit us in there
for safety and they almost got usthis past game for safety, Dak has
been working his magic. Man.Yeah, so, but I mean,
is it anything you want to talkabout? Raz? I mean, I
mean, because yeah, I wantto talk I want to talk about halftime.

(24:04):
But I'm sure there was also somepregame and some postgame festivities with Jimmy
because uh, it was just itwas such a cool moment man. And
I saw you. I saw youin some sort of a green room hanging
out with your guys. Yeah, tell me, tell me, tell me.
I got there early and as guyswas checking in, especially the guys

(24:27):
that I knew and played, youknow with Jimmy for Jimmy coaches, I
introdew and interview Butch Davis. Italked to Campbell all week on all the
shows, Dave Campbell, they werethere. Yeah. I interviewed Darren Woodson,
James Washington, Russell Maryland and JimJeff coach guys that was there when

(24:48):
he got there, and guys thatplayed with him at Miami and and so
Kevin Gogan was there and I,you know, interviewed him and so it
just chopped it up seeing what youknow, asking the guys, hey,
how you doing and what you know, what does this mean to you and
about Jimmy and and just to aman, the focus, like Darren Wilson

(25:11):
said, Jimmy had the focus toprepare you, to get you ready to
win. And would he say hedoes that in his everyday life. He
prepares and focuses to win. Andthat and that was Jimmy, man,
That Jimmy. And then when andthen when they brought him to the to
the up there where we was topre the little party, little pre game

(25:33):
party, you know, he said, he said, fellas ladies and gentlemen
gave up a lot, you know, I sacrificed a lot. And he
thanked his family, He thanked everybodyman, you know, just for you
know, for the sacrifices that theymade. And oh man, it was
just nice. Man. Then hesaid it on the field. But I'm

(25:55):
gonna tell you something, John Raddick, and this is what I try to
tell Cowboy fans. You know what, win, lose, or draw.
Coach John said, I want tothank the millions of fans who love the
Dallas Cowboys. And I also wantto thank you the me and a fan
that despise us. Yes, comeon, man, that was great.
I'm like, do y'all realize wedo not have to sit up and make

(26:22):
up excuses for who we are andwhat we do. We them boys rat
Yeah, it's so awesome. Andthen of course he punctuates it with how
about them cowboys? Delivered perfectly?Mike Irving and Emitt you know, messing
up his hair. You know whatmakes me laugh is Troy with his handsome,
thistoricself. She's sitting there smiling likeTroy, get in on the party,

(26:47):
man, you good on ESPN.My wife said, My wife said,
does Troy not want to be there? I said, no, man,
that's Troy having a great time rightthere. He was. Believe me,
man, he was bubbling inside. He was. And that's that Troy.
It ain't a time I've called Icalled Troy about certain quarterbacks. It
ain't a time. See, Itell people, rad I like the joke.

(27:11):
I like to jive. But ifI'm if I'm at an issue in
the middle of the road about something, I got guys that are experts that
I can call, Hey, Troy, what's your This is my thoughts on
this guy? Give me your thoughts? Yeah, and my way off?
Should I look at this in adifferent way of Mike, what do you
think about this? Dude? Man? Give me you give me your honest
opinion of you know. And Itry not to call y'all Hayley because I

(27:33):
have to, you know, pickout the things. After all the cussing
and craziness. I got to say, Okay, now what did he say
and what did he rid me?And then Charles will want something from you
too. If he give you something, he wants something back. Now.
Yeah, nine time I ten ismonetarily Now. I was just joking,
Charles, don't call me cussing yout? Thank you? So? Uh?

(27:56):
And so what were you in thatwhole group that was like the field
when Jimmy came out. Were youin that time? You in that group?
No? No, I stayed up. I stayed up there. I
stayed up because that was that washim, That was that was Jimmy's and
Jerry's and the Ring of Honor Guy'stime. A lot of people went down

(28:17):
there. But I'm gonna tell yousomething, rad Uh. You could be
happy for somebody like I'm excited.I love what happened there, but you
can never be unless you're in it. A part of that Ring of Honora
hugging and said, I mean,I'm happy for your coach. Hey,
man, let's get out the way. It's ring on the time. They'd

(28:38):
all to ring all the guy.And I tell people, you know,
that's one thing I try to tellpeople certain things. I don't care what
you do. It's like you andyour wife married. It ain't nothing to
your brothers and sisters can do.They could be happy for y'all, but
you's you or your wife and youy'all got that bond. And that's how
I looked at I said, youknow what you'll be like, Man,
you ain't going down to the field. I'm like, nah, I've already

(29:00):
talked to coach, told him Ilove him, and uh, let me
tell you something right quick. Letme tell you something right quick, like,
ain't nothing changed, because here weare up in the thing right He
talking to how you doing that?He taking pictures to everybody, and I'm
saying to myself, okay, it'sthe same thing. I'm gonna tell you

(29:21):
a quick story and then we cango. Okay, We're in training camp
and he walks up to Troy.I'm watching it. He walks up the
true how you doing troue? Howyou feel? Make your arm, all
right. We don't want to getyour arms. So if you get a
little sore, let us know.True, Coach, I'm all right,
you know true, I'm good.Coach, I'm good. And then he
goes up to Mike. Mike,I know. He goes up to him

(29:41):
and Emmit, how you doing allright? Man? You know we don't
want to run you in the grounddoing training camp. Man, we want
to save your legs, you know, inside run I just do one or
two reps. Coach, all right, them and let me know if something
ain't right, Michael irving. Youmy parameter on the team. Mike,
Man, we you know, ifyour legs get tired, and I know
it's time to get break. Howyou're doing a coach, y'all run all

(30:02):
day? Coach, I'm your man, coach. I'm like wow. Then
he walks up to me, Nate, you better have a good practice.
I'm like what, I'm like,Well, coaching, I don't want to
know if anything hurt on you,you just better have a good practice.
I'm looking at you, and soI said, all right, coach,
I just shot laughing. He walked, He smiles, walks away. Dude.

(30:25):
The other night, you know, everybody talking to it, be taking
