(00:10):
It is time time for another showwith the great Nate Newton. My name
is John Radagan. I've been talkingto the acting about sports around here for
all these years. But Nate,Nate, he played the game, and
now Nate has the opportunity to justlook you right in the eye and say,

(00:30):
let me tell you something. Man. I'm just glad to be here,
John, I'm glad to be ableto talk sports. I'm glad to
be able to give my opinion, and I hope it's worthy of the listenership.
Yeah, let me tell you Something'sthe name of the show. By
the way, keep that in mindand tell your friends about it, because
we have a lot of fun talkingsports. Of course, there's lots of
cowboys on this. But you know, if you've watched this show, Nate's

(00:54):
a big Celtics fan. Knows alot about the NBA. Don't discount as
a knowledge about the NBA people. This man can talk n B A And
of course we'll talk everything else toMAVs and Stars and Rangers and I don't
know what all, but uh,Nate, let's start with the cowboys.
Man. It's these OTAs organized teamactivities. This is sort of the last

(01:18):
round of that, they'll have somemini camps and so forth. But uh,
you know, organized team activities. What is this? What is this?
What's happening? It's about the rookiesand the veterans and the coaches and
everybody getting together. Uh, gettingto know each other, number one,
getting to know the basics of theschemes, the techniques that they're going to

(01:40):
use within these schemes, and youknow your responsibilities. Uh. Just it's
kind of filling out process. Andfor some guys to just say, hey,
hey, what should have been doingthis offseason? A lot of guys,
Uh, one or two guys won'tbe there. You know, that
happens every year. But basically justbrings you together, gives you the basic

(02:00):
knowledge of the offensive, defense andspecial team schemes. That way, when
you go to training camp, youwon't go to a cold turkey. You'll
have an idea and if you knowmentally, a lot of times you can
play faster physically. Is it isit boring for veterans especially? You know,
a guy who's been there for quitea few years, not a guy
that's trying to improve, not aguy that's working on his craft. You

(02:23):
know, but you got some guyslike old Nate new And I used to
just go to have fun and laughand crack jokes. I used to be
uh. I used to at leasttwice a day one of one of the
coaches position coach at the head coach. Can we say, hey, man,
can you stop jacking around over thereto pay attention or at least go
have one or two of them aday? You know what I'm saying.
Next the class clown. Oh,yes, sir, the fattest, biggest

(02:46):
class clown you ever see, jollyjolly man. Yes, sir, yes,
sir. So And you mentioned youknow, every time there's a few
people not there, it seems thatare like there are a lot of people
very concerned. Not so much aboutC. D. Lamb. We kind
of expected that he's trying to geta contract extension, but they're concerned about

(03:08):
Micah Parsons not being there. Isthis a concern for you, Nate?
No, No one thing that Iuh. I say a lot of crazy
things about Mike, A lot ofthings that people don't agree with about Michael.
But I think he's smart and Ithink he's intelligent. Uh, he'll
keep up. Uh zimma hav himon point and ready to go. So

(03:32):
I'm not concerned as long as whenall the mandatory stuff pops up that he's
there doing what he has to do. Focus. A lot of times we
we uh we look at these youngkids and uh and we you know,
we want them to do what wethink is right, you know. And

(03:53):
a lot of times, like Isay, for OTAs for your quarterbacks,
uh you y receivers, guys likethat are a young guys, veterans trying
to make it. These are somecrucial times for these guys. And everybody
has a different uh point in alife where okay, it is not as
important as always any team time isvery important, but to some guys it's

(04:18):
not a high priority. I mean, okay, so we see that Micah
is doing the boxing training again thisoffseason. It seemed to help him,
you know, be stronger here rightlast year. Is this Is this a
worthy endeavor? Do you believe asa form of training for him? I
believe that in house training is thebest training. These these owners in coaches

(04:46):
and staffs have put together some ofthe best people for your position, for
your body type that you can findin the world. It's nothing that this
box guy can give you that yourguy be at a trainer, be at
him weight instructor, a strength guy. They can give you these same things

(05:11):
and better stare. They can bringin guys that is just as good as
your guy. Now, people havepersonal preferences, and you can't you can't
take that away from people. Theyfeel more comfortable, they feel good,
and a lot of times, aslong as you come in there ready to
run, rip and do your job, a lot of people won't have anything
to say. All right, Sowe both overlapped with too Tall. The

(05:34):
boxing seemed to work out okay forToo Tall, Yeah, until he ran
into that little short guy and wasknocked him out in the ring. The
boxing didn't work in football. Imean they're working boxing, you're working football
ball. Yes, yeah, yeah. So let me ask you this about
Micah with regard to the position thathe's playing, right, I mean,

(05:59):
I felt like he had you know, he did show some improvement at the
beginning of last year, but thenwore down again toward the end of the
year. Is this is this justsimply him, you know, battling against
these bigger men every game and justgetting worn out. Yes, sir.
The bottom line is you you didn'tdo this in college. You didn't build

(06:26):
up a tolerance. Your body didn'tbuild up a tolerance for this in college.
And you come into the pros andyour rookie year you run around as
a linebacker slash pass rusher in thenyou designate yourself as a divisive n Every
offensive coordinator with a team worthy ofplaying you licked their chops and started laughing.

(06:51):
I try to tell everybody who wouldlisten to knowledge. I told everybody
before the show was even name.Let me tell you something I told everybody.
Let me tell you something. IfI know Michael Parsons is gonna spend
seventy percent of his time to theright of me at the end of the

(07:13):
defensive at the end of the defensiveline, and I got all this other
feel to work with. He doesnot scare of me, past rush maybe
everything else. No, I willput tight ends over there. I will
bring the blockers to crossbody block him. I will trap him. I would

(07:34):
wham him, and by the endof the game, if we're not down,
we're just even, and I canrun the ball. He would not
be a factor. And that iswhat happens to Michael every year he starts
out fresh, he beats everybody up. But as the season goes on and

(07:54):
packages get bigger and bigger and morespecific to him, he wears so in
the new scheme. And we didn'tget a big chance to talk about what
Zim is bringing to the table whenyou had gone to see the rookie camp
and you chatted with your your oldformer you know, a coach and a

(08:16):
guy who was on Jimmy's staff,Mike Zimmer. So with Zim in there,
will this allow Micah to play tohis strength more. Will there be
more of sort of that hybrid wherehe'll be linebackers some and defensive end some
or how do you see that playingout? I just know Zim is going

(08:37):
to try to put him in aposition to win and be successful. I
think you did tried to do thesame thing, Coach Quinn tried to do
the same thing, but Mike wasso entrenched and being over there at the
devs event spot at the end ofthe line until he just kind of dominated.
And when you play at the levelfor sacks that he played, it
is kind of hard to augue withhim. Seim is going to try to,

(09:01):
you know, negotiate this thing wherehis kid can still get his rushes
in, but just make him hardto be able to block. When he
was playing linebacker and he was hittingthe A gap, he was hitting the
B gap, you never knew wherehe was coming from. I thought he
was more dangerous, and it allowedhim to keep his linebacker instincts, to

(09:24):
be able to get off linemen andgo make tackles or shoot gaps for losses
and stuff like that, and stillkeep the integrity of defense. So I
wanted him to be a linebacker hisfirst year, then that super spy guy
his second and third year. Butlike you know, he had other plans.

(09:45):
Once he got a taste of theSAC game, it was over,
you know, And so he linedhimself up over there to Devisi men,
like I say, every offensive coordinatorworth their weight was like, thank you,
get somewhere. We can know whereyou are, and now we know
how to run the rest of ouroffense. And so basically essentially it boils

(10:07):
down to this, doesn't it.You make you have the potential to make
more money as a defensive end, especially based on that sack stat then you
do as far as how much moneyyou can make, you can make more
as a defensive end, than alinebacker. Yes, yeah, but you
know what, it's such things calleda football player. And when you're a

(10:31):
football player and you just make plays, you don't have to worry about the
money, the money coming, Youdon't have to worry if you you know,
just think fifteen sacks, ten totwelve hits for losses, six or
seven thumber recoveries, a couple ofinterceptions, and you just had nineteen sacks.

(10:56):
Who you think gonna get paid themost money that dude is due.
That's in in Cleveland. Who we'regonna play the first game, Miles Garrett.
That's who gonna make the most moneybecause he does all of that besides
the interceptions. Okay, he callshis sacks, he calls his turnovers,
he gets hits for losses. Thenhe takes over games. What Michaeh is

(11:18):
seeking is what I call game changers. Michaeh. I know where he's coming
from. I can control him toa certain extent. Now he gonna have
games where he's hot. But ishe gonna have games where he take over
and change change there the face ofthe game. Miles Garrett does that on

(11:39):
a regular basis. You can countthree four times in the year. This
kid gonna do it. Now theother kid, if he can stay healthy
for the for the stealers, thewatch kid, he can do the same
thing. Oh Bosa brothers, Lordknows. I'll be like, I'm glad
y'all will always be healthy, becauseif y'all was always healthy, they'll do
a five US six times a year. Yeah. So, and that's what

(12:03):
I want for Michael. I wantMichael when when he walk on the game,
when he walk on the field.I never asked this question, is
Michael gonna take over this game?I know he's a great pass rusher,
but can he take over this game? Is this game at halftime fourteen fourteen,

(12:24):
seventeen fourteen and we need to play. We need a sack and a
fumble, or we need an interception, or we need a hit for loss.
You know, is Michael gonna dothat for me? And when he
gets to that level and that mentality, and that's what Zim and that's what

(12:46):
coach Quinn tried to provide for him, is that I'm telling you now,
he's gonna get paid and right rightlyso I mean, he yeah, he
give him his money. I don'tbe grudge no man, that but is
he that total team takeover? Notyet? Not quite m hm. So

(13:07):
is it oversimplifying it to stay tosay Miles Garrett and both of the Watches
are significantly bigger men than what whatMichael Mike is. I mean six four.
Michael's taller than me. He's six' four, he's two forty.

(13:28):
Look at the draft this year, you seeing defensive ends getting a littit trimmor
linebackers seem like they're getting a littlebit bigger. But everybody's in that two
forty to two fifty five range, running them four fours, four sevens up
to four sevens, and everybody's aboutin the same weight range. But now,

(13:52):
can I look at you, radLet's say, with that pretty silver
hair, with that slickness, youknow, got a lot jimmy fuzz in
your little grease in your head, with that pretty smile, can I just
tweak it a little bit and putyou over here? I do. I
just let you keep doing what you'redoing and not let you get better.

(14:13):
I got to tweak you. Igot to let you get a little bit
better. I got to put youthat camera light boom right here. You
know what I'm saying. I gotto put you up in the seat a
little straighter. So we go.Hell we Rad, Rad, it's getting
old. Look I slouchy. Hey, let's straight, Rad. You know
what I'm saying. Let's go donot only the Mavericks, Let's do the
Thunder too. Let's let's expand hisrole. Hey, he's already doing the

(14:37):
Rangers. Hey, let's put himout there with the Thunder. Let's expand
his role. You know. Let'slet's that's remake, Rad. Let's put
him on let me tell you somethingthe Playmakers podcast. Let's expand his role.
Yeah, that's what All is tryingto do. Zim is trying to
expand this kid's roll. Yeah, and your experience with Zim as he's got

(15:03):
a pretty good shot at doing that. Yes, if this kid is willing
to learn and be responsible, man, there's no stopping this kid. It's
no stopping this kid. You know, I had never met a more selfish
person than Michael Irvin. I've nevermet a more selfish person than Michael Irvin.

(15:30):
I've never met a more selfish personthan Troy Aigman. I've never met
a more selfish person than Emmitt Smith. But you know what, at all
they had in common team concept. How can I help this team be the
best it can be? And inturn, this team helped me be the

(15:52):
best I can be. So ifI want to be all I can be,
I'm going to have to accept thecoach. I'm gonna have to be
in the right place at the righttime so when the plays come up,
I can make them. Those arethe ultimate selfish guys. And that's what
I tell people. You know, want nobody more selfish than Charles Haley.

(16:15):
Yeah, you know, but CharlesHaley used to help me work out because
he said, if I get Natebetter, then hey, I ain't got
to stay out. I can stayout on the field or a shorter period
of time because he's in better shapeand he can block his man a little
longer. Yeah. So I tellpeople, man, selfish is not a

(16:36):
bad thing if you have it withinthe team concept, right right. So
with your experience with Micah, doeshe have that? Not yet? Not
yet? Yeah? I just Ibelieve he can get it. Yeah,
I've refuse to give up on kids. But now I'm gonna tell the truth.

(16:59):
That's the difference between me and otherfolks. You know. I tell
my wife the great Michelle Doreen Newton. I's goanna call him Murphy when I
use that, use the class name. What are we doing? Yeah,
I used to call it Michelle DoreeMurphy or that ree, but that's a
that's an old lady name. Yeah. But anyway, my wife, I

(17:22):
tell her, Uh, don't don'tgreat players great players, man, you
got to always love them great players. That Oh man, go ahead,
right, I'm wondering that's a that'sa senior moment. No, no,
it's good. And hey, I'vesat with the two of you watching games
on many occasions, and uh,she's a fan. Now, yes,

(17:45):
she's a fan of but you're not. You're not looking at it as a
fan. You look at it differently. I'm different, but I look at
it different. I look at itfrom the game, from the inside out.
I look at the little things thatmakes the difference in the games.
You know. Wow. But anyway, man, it's hard. See we

(18:06):
we done did another show about MichaelWe Yeah he's a flash point. Yeah
he is, man. But whatI want people to understand is I'm always
try to speak the truth. Youdon't have to cut a kid to the
ground, you don't have to beatsomebody down. You don't have to have
the hot take. Oh man,I don't want my show to go viral.

(18:27):
Let men, rad sho'll go viralbecause because I said some ugly no
no, no, no, youcan you can speak the truth and be
positive about it, you know, yeah and still go viral. Wa.
Yeah, we're gonna do it.We're gonna do it. Hey. So
this with as many rookies as itappears, the Cowboys will have to count

(18:51):
on, right, They're going tocount on this draft turning out really well,
so that this type of thing that'sot A, then the mini camp
and then everything they can do andevery time they can be around their teammates.
They're veteran teammates in particular, thisis good, right, the Tyler
Guidans of the world, the CooperBebes of the world. I mean,
all the young rookies that came in. They need this time, don't they.

(19:15):
Oh they do, they do,just because they're gonna go over the
plays that they went over in therookie mini camp and they're gonna go over
them again plus another ten or twentymore. And the more you know and
the better you can comprehend, andthe quicker you can transform it to the
field. The faster you can play. It's just when you relax and you

(19:37):
know the play and you know thevariations off these plays. The quicker you
can play, the quicker athletic abilityshow the quicker you can be dominant and
help the team win. So arethose two men, for example, and
any of the other rookies that wethink are going to be or need to
be starters, are they getting allthe reps with the ones right now?

(20:00):
Or is it better for them tothink, Hey, you're you've got a
challenger, and you've got to competeagainst this student in order to get that
stop. How long did it takeLuca to be the point of guard?
I mean, how long did ittake Luca? How long did it take
Yokish? They saw Yokish, theyhad already had a kid there. I

(20:21):
can't think of the kid name.I think he went bought the trail.
They had a kid already there, seven foot. This coach saw Yokis and
they traded their kid so quick hemade his head spind he even though he's
gonna get traded. Yeah, youknow, Luca Ran wanted the little kid
right up to New York somewhere thislittle kid. They had a here,
little point guard. I said this, first of all, he wasn't Carlisle

(20:42):
type of guard, first of all. And then when Luca came here,
bye bye. Yeah see, Idon't like, I love like. Tyler
got number one pick. Uh.They out in doga at the left.
They've been playing the veteran on man. Forget that. Put guy right there,

(21:06):
left tackle, you know, thenext ota next week, put b
B at the center. Let's juststop playing and let's get this thing going.
And if BB can't play center, then we got the other kids just
telling, hey, man, wegot to get this kid reps. We
drafted him to start. We loveyou, You'll make this team. Keep
being with you being you know.Uh, and I want to call his

(21:27):
name correctly. Uh see that Ialready have moved on. Brock Hoffman.
Yeah, Brock, we love you. And because and I'm gonna tell you
a little story right if you don'tmind, please okay, everywhere your first
year, he sat next to meat right and I was the right tackle,
and Eric was you know, hewas back up right tackle to me.

(21:48):
His rookie year, we went totraining camp. I don't think we
was two weeks in Jimmy walk. You know, we was in the Uh
it was in this little room Iwant to call a little prayer room,
because we just at St. Edward's. Yeah, so I think we in
this it's a big room, butI think it was a little preyer room

(22:08):
off to the side, you know. And uh so we ended doing Jimmy
throw the door open. Looks around, how you gentlemen know we're doing a
good coach. I just want tolet y'all know everywhere, even starting right
twn, y'all have a nice day. How do you think I felt,
bro, you went to praying?I reckon, man, Hey, look

(22:29):
man, I almost went into thelittle prayer the little preyer closet. Man,
almost, I almost went. Inmy mind, I went into a
little prayer club. Like, LordJesus, what I'm gonna do. I
don't have a job, you know, but adventure I was the left guard.
But anyway, Uh, I didn'tlike what Jimmy did, and I
ain't like how he did it,but at least I ain't had to mess
around trying to figure out what. You know, he didn't wait till the

(22:55):
third preseason game and said, well, big news. When we're getting ready
back in that day. We justhad to redrescher Hers was the third game,
you know, depending on whether youhad four or five preseason games.
I ain't had to wait till thethird preseason game to figure out. Oh
man, I ain't gonna beat onthe starter, you know. So yeah,
he got that quick. Yeah.Once Biggie was named the starter,

(23:18):
he got all the reps. Andyou were at that time until you went
over to the left side. Itdidn't last. Today. When Jimmy said
that, I walked up to himand after practice he said, look at
a coach. You told me lastyear you wanted the best five guys and
I was the best guy. Soyou put one of the best five and

(23:41):
I was right tackle. He said, yeah, we know you're still one
of the best guards, but youyou you know, at tackle you were
better than these guys. I said, okay, coach, because he ain't
give me no other choice. Hesaid, you either took take that right
tackle job, we can cut you. I'm like, wow, I went
from left guard the right tackle topossibly the streets. Okay, Jimmy went

(24:04):
to cup mean now, I knowthat now, but right then he wanted
me to play right time, andso he put the ultimate, you know,
chop block on me. So Isaid, well, Coach, you
told me last year I was.I say, you mean seeing me,
Kevin Gogan and all the rest ofthe guys at guard are better than me.
I don't think so, Coach.I say, I left my left

(24:25):
guard position. That's not fair.I should be a left guard. I
should be spack starting that left guard. Then nobody beat me out. And
after he went to coach wise puttingit to left guard, he ain't making
no big speech about it. Allof a sudden, I'm a left guard
starting. Kevin Gogan was kind ofthe ard man out. I stabbed you
in the back, Kevin. I'msorry, but I had to. And

(24:51):
as we speak, three fourth SuperBowls later, baby, as we speak,
yeah, great wall man. Yeah? Uh was Gogan still around?
He played that year with us.He was a free agent after that and
went to the Raiders and made boohoo money, boo coo money, made
the Pro Bowl and everything. Yeah, good, good for him. Yeah,

(25:15):
all right, so that's cool, great story. He made more money
than me, did he? Yeahwith the Raiders? Yeah yeah, yeah,
see got the last lap. Yeah, he got the real last man.
Because I think he was making twomilo. He was making some money
back then. That was that bigmoney boy. Yeah. And he's probably
still driving that truck he had incollege. Man, I hope I didn't

(25:40):
erase it. Man, he's sthinga picture of that truck. Yeah,
he drove that for years at ValleyRan. Yeah. Man, big gold,
big gold something. A picture ofthat. Man. Bless his hard
you know because I used to haveon four fifty four and uh he said
you remember that. I was likeyeah, and then he saw me a
picture. I still got my truckman, big gold, hardcore do man.

(26:03):
Yeah. Yeah, he was funhe was funny like you too.
I mean he was a fun lovingyou know. He crack on everybody and
all that stuff too. Gold wasit? Man, go me and go
to a aho offs in line couldget out for you. Bruh. Yeah,
it's just so true, so true. Yeah. So all right,
so let's move on. Is thereanything else we need to talk about with
the Cowboys? C D Lamb notbeing there not a big deal, right

(26:26):
or is it pay CD pay CD? But see they don't want you know,
T Higgins and the other kid.But the is it Cincinnati Minnesota?
Jefferson? Yeah, those kids haven'tbeen paid and I think they all got
the same agent or work for thesame firm, so all of them gonna

(26:47):
sit tight, you know, Sothey gonna sit tight. So yeah,
yeah, uh. And then wehear that Jerry will be a part of
a series that I think it's Netflixis doing. Uh, and it's behind
the scenes and it's like Jerry, like you've never seen before. Is this

(27:08):
something you're interested in? Because maybeeven you big new will see some things
that you didn't know happened in JerryJones life. Man, you know,
I got some You know, onething I love about Missus Jones is you've
always been a good man to meand me and him. I have some
personal moments, you know, Iwant to talk about, and uh,

(27:30):
whatever Missus Jones do is good withme. Netflix, Baby, do it,
do it. Man. I'm gonnamake sure I'm looking at it watching
it, you know. Yeah,I'm gonna man, I'm gonna be locked
in. I think it's going tobe fascinating. Yes, it's another year
to be out. Yeah. Ithink it comes out around Christmas, and

(27:51):
that's why people are speculating Cowboys Gamearound Christmas is going to be on Netflix.
Too, right, they're gonna haveto hold shebang. So yeah,
we'll see how that plays out.But anyway, so let's talk about your
Celtics, Nate Man. That's theonly conference final that's begun yet as we
tape this. But they got ascare last night from them Pacers. We

(28:15):
don't have any playmakers. And letme explain. The Celtics don't have play
makers. They have a guy. They have a team that when they play
as a team and I mean whippingthe ball around spacing, they look good.
But the tighter the game gets down, they don't two minutes left in

(28:41):
the quarter, two minutes left anda half, two minutes in the fourth.
They don't have an offense that canbe manned like what Luca is able
to do, even in the secondaryrole Kyrie is able to do. They
don't have a guy that can bumboom hit that ball, be looking looking

(29:02):
for a shot, trying to create. Then all of a sudden, bam,
hey we go. You see alob going to the going to the
rim, or you see somebody outin the corner. You know, my
myself is the dribble that ball. They'll pound that ball. Then all of
a sudden, they'll see they ain'tgot no shot and with two seconds left
they just throw it to anybody.Guy's just been standing around for twelve seconds

(29:22):
while you pound the ball. Brownand Tatum, Yeah, you know.
And and that's where Jokish is different. That's where the Alexander the Great you
know, guildris eighteen different names. You know, Roman names is great.
You know what I'm saying. Thisis where Anthony it was is great.

(29:45):
You know, you say he didthat thing against Denver. I mean,
he was terrible in the first half. He said, you know what,
I'm finna play some shut down defenseand I'm finna find my teammates and get
them open shots. We don't havethat. And people can say what they
want to about the Celtis. Youwin sixty four games, and forty of

(30:08):
them was team play games. Fortyfive of them was team play games.
And I know, you know we'remissing the big guy. You know,
you're still good enough. If youplay on both ends of the court,
you you cannot outshoot on a consistentbasis. Rick Carlile's team, these guys

(30:33):
can flat out shoot. And whatBrown did the basketball guds, thank you,
you know, thank you, becausewhen he shot that ball. He
had no space. It was abad shot because once again he jammed himself
in a corner and he had tojust let it go and you know,

(30:56):
to kind of hit the backboard, right. You noticed it kind of strapped
on the backboard. So yeah,it wasn't a pure shot. So the
basketball guards looked down on him.His work during the off season paid off
for him. So but you can'tdo that, rad you you can't.
You you. I wasn't even worryabout being in a shootout. I'll be
like, you got, we're gonnaplay some defense, fellas, and we're

(31:19):
gonna we're gonna move this ball aroundand force Rick Carlisle guys expended landag on
defense. You know, but theybasketball guards bless me last night. I
take a win as a win becauseyou know, now we got now it's
a six game series. It's youknow, because I figure it's gonna go
I figure it's gonna go seven ifthey, if they, if we win

(31:41):
this one coming up, what weneeded was take that first game from Indiana,
win this one. You know,we notorious for winning a game everybody
patting us on the back and thenlose the second game. That is that
is what the Celtics do. We'llwin the first game and we'll lose the
second game. Well, we can'tdo that. We shouldn't do that.

(32:02):
We should be ready and amped becauseyou got the scary of your life.
You know, I don't know whenthe big kid coming back, you know.
Wow? All right, wow.So we'll keep a close eye on
that. We'll also be watching twoDallas teams in the conference finals. Nad.

(32:27):
It's the first time in twenty threeyears that two teams that Sharon Arena
are in the conference finals together, which is it's just amazing that. You
know, the American Airlines Center isgoing to play host to the Western Conference
Finals in both hockey and basketball thisyear. But let's talk about the MAVs
getting rid of my you know,my other team, if you will,

(32:51):
the Oklahoma City thunder Man. Thatwas I didn't think they'd win Game six.
I give them credit. That wasa heck of a game. That
was a heck of a fourth quarter. Let me tell you something. Thank
you, Luke Ca, Luke car. Luca played this thing. Luca got
that early tech and now let's stopand think. Let's stop and think,

(33:15):
people, Luca played the rests andhe played the NBA League front office,
mister shiny head. Yeah, heplayed even you, mister shiny head.
And I'm talking about the commissioner.Luca like, I dare you throw me

(33:35):
out? I'm a superstar, soI get so what I got his technical
He played that thing so pretty. You think they're gonna throw you? Did
you? I got to think?I said, do you think they really
gonna throw Luke out of this game? No, Luca knew it, and
everybody figured that out after a while. They ain't throwing Luca out, man,
And they kept this thing. Yesclose enough, yes, close to

(34:00):
enough so Luca could take over.Hey my hat's I'll see you, bro,
Luca. You played them like adrum. You played them like a
good time with all the strings typebaby, like a banjo baby. Yeah.
Yeah, hey, And we talkedabout that last week. You were
talking about Luca. You got togo do it right and in a way

(34:21):
again, you know, he's onthe injury report this series as well,
with a knee and an ankle, right, so he's fighting through some stuff,
but most people are, especially thistime of year. But still he
is. And he did it right. He did he took he had triple
doubles and almost every one of thosegames he did it. And the thing

(34:42):
about it, they have not Nowit's guys on their team that has the
others at Shaq and a few otherguys that they call the others have been
playing lights out. But Luca andKyrie together, I mean, just floying.
It hasn't happened. It hasn't happenedthat. I think it happened against

(35:02):
uh the Clippers once when both ofthem just was flowing. But other than
that, it's been a half here, a quarter there. These guys have
not just lit it up. Anduh, but they're gonna have to do
this. They're gonna is this thisWolves seeing gonna play some defense they coming
at They're gonna play some defense. And uh so, uh when they are

(35:27):
up there in Wolves country, they'regonna get the calls. Like when they
down here in Maths country, They'regonna get the calls. So, uh,
this is gonna be nice. ThisIt's been a long time since you're
saying. Man, I want tosee this. I really even more than
the Denver Mavericks. I want tosee the Wolves. Uh, I want

(35:49):
to see this Wolves Mavericks. Man, I really do, man, because
a pack of wolves after after abunch of wild horses. Man, who's
somebody gonna either get kicked in themouth for the rigg gonna get snapped?
You know what I'm saying. Well, yeah, it's a point, man,
it's it's gonna be a great series. You thinking, you thinking this
one goes seven to Man, Idon't know, because, uh, the

(36:13):
MAVs notorious for winning the first gamelosing the second. No, no,
no, opposite, They notorious forwinning losing the first game. They are
notorious. I'm missing mother, myCeltics. They are notorious for losing that
first game and they never panic.Yeah. No, let me tell y'all
something. Let me say this beforewe get off there. Do not discount

(36:39):
Jason Kidd. Yeah, do notdiscount Jason Kidd because he not only can
talk to Luca, but he canalso talk to Kyrie and the other guys
just fall in line. They did. What they have is something special.
Man, sixteen to four? Whatover the end the season? Yeah,

(37:04):
you know, you knew that theycould beat the Clippers. Everybody knew they
can beat the Clippers. But man, what they did to them, to
the to the thunder, the sixthgame, Luca masterpiece, Baby, masterpiece,
Luca. Yeah. That's the numberone seed. Yeh's the top seed
they beat in the West. Yes, the top seed, the four the
doumble fourth seed, right or thefifth seed was at the fourth seed they

(37:27):
were the fourth, Clippers were thefourth. Yeah, this is the third.
Yeah. See Denver was two inMinnesota's three. Yeah. Yeah.
So it's been all teams more highlyrated, you know than the MAVs all
the way through this and that homecourt advantage once yet and they won't I
don't know if they would against thePacers. They might, but they wouldn't

(37:49):
against the Celtics either, That's right. So damn man, you know,
I get ahead of ourselves. Yeah, but that's what we do. We
can do that, That's true. That's what sports talkers too. I've made
a career of it, Nate.Yes, And you've done so well in
your career after football with this too. So man, it's always fun talking
to you, my brother, andwe appreciate you as always. Hey man,

(38:13):
love you tell your wife and everybodywe say hello, man, Spencer
Bash, you gotta be on time, baby, don't edit that out.
You got to get gotta get yourtime right, Spencer got to quit laying
around that bed. Baby fantastic. We'll do it again next week when we
say let me tell you something, something
