(00:53):
favorite podcast yet, it will beby the end of this show because Nate's
about to go off. I'm JohnRadigan. He's Nate Newton. We're brought
to you on this podcast by Niagara, and the show Nate is called one.
Let Me tell you Something and believeme. It's a lot of people
that had a title, but theycan't tell you what me and John Radigan

(01:15):
would tell you. We will alwaysbe telling you something. Believe that.
Yes, excit, let me newLet me tell you something. First,
Nate, I had a busy weekend. I did a MAVs pre and postgame.
I did New Orleans Pelicans pre andpost game. I did a couple
of Oklahoma City Thunder pre and postgames. So I really wasn't paying attention
to the NFL. How'd the Cowboysdue? Did they beat Green Bays?

(01:36):
But like we thought they would?Wow? No, Wow, that didn't
happen to I was so excited becauseyou was excited. You was working and
you was doing these free posts.I was so excited you hit me with
that red Wow. That's a gutkick. Man, About that Green Bay

(01:56):
did to the Cowboys kick till Ohmy god, my brother. Wow.
I don't mean to kick anybody, but man, watching that thing, which
I really did, was a kickto the gut of anybody who's you know,
a Cowboys follower, a Cowboys fan. I don't know why, Nate,
but somehow we kind of felt like, you know, that this playoff
season would be different than the others. But really it wasn't, and in

(02:21):
fact, it might have been worse. It's been called in many circles the
most embarrassing playoff lost the Cowboys haveever suffered. One thing that is consistent
with the up with the brass, with the coaches, with the players,
and most of all, with thefans. Nobody can put their finger on

(02:45):
how to fix this problem. Nowwe all have used all types of embarrassing.
I can't believe it. Wow,what did I just see? You
can phrase it however you want,But one thing I can say heard for
the last few days is where dowe start? How do we fix it?

(03:06):
And we I've gotten a thousand differentanswers to that simple question, where
do we go? More importantly, how do we fix it? Ran?
Okay, so you the same thingI've how do we fix it? So
you know, obviously everybody has anopinion on that. There's certainly one school

(03:28):
of thought that says, you goahead, and you get rid of Mike
McCarthy. Now you bring in someonewho has proven year in and year out.
McCarthy won a Super Bowl. Grantedwith the Packers, but you bring
in somebody who has proven year inand year out that he will get a
team ready for a playoff run.And those that camp that group of people,

(03:52):
they really want Bill Belichick seventy one, seventy two year old Bill Belichick
in here, Nate. So Imean, is that is that you want
to go. Do you want tostart over with a new coach? Is
that a place to do this?Do you really want to blow up?
You go? The Patriots have athing they call the Patriots Way. Two

(04:15):
guys, right, three guys allowedthis to happen. They grew this from
childhood into maturity and that Patriot's way. It is kind of falling off.
Number one, mister craft, Ihired and drafted the guy. He hired

(04:35):
Bill Belichick, and he drafted TomBrady. Those two guys matured that infant
of the Patriot's Way into fruition.Do you want similar to that Patriot's way
to come to the Cowboys? Becauseremember Jimmy had it with Troy and his

(04:56):
winning ways. The Patriot Way andthe Cowboy used to be ways by two
guys, Bill Belichick, Jimmy Johnson, Tom Brady, Troy Aikman. Do
you want that? Do you wanta Bill Belichick slash? Will it be

(05:21):
Dak another guy? Because this way, there's no second guessing who's the boss
is, there's no second guessing howthings are going to be ran. There's
no by committee. Bill Belichick quarterbackbuy in, rest of the team buy

(05:44):
in. Do you really think Dallasis ready for that. More importantly,
do you think the Dallas Cowboys' topbrass is ready for that? And if
you can answer that question, Ican tell you whether we should bring Bill
Belichick in. Yeah, and Idon't. I don't think that the top
brass would like that. I thinkBelichick would would make one quick phone call

(06:06):
to Bill Parcells and say how howhard or easy is it to work for
Jerry Jones. And I think obviouslythey're good friends. They were on the
same coaching staff together, Parcells, and they had their their you know,
battles and so forth. But Parcellswould be honest with him and tell him
what he thinks, which which Idon't think would be extremely favorable to that

(06:28):
sort of you know, coach gmowner relationship. So that the alternative is
to either bring somebody else in orI'm starting to think, Nate, maybe
you just let both Mike McCarthy andDak Prescott play out the last year.
They each have one year left ontheir contract. The one the one thing

(06:50):
right is that we saw, uhthe offense. We talked about it last
week. The offense grew like you'retalking about from infant see right that when
McCarthy gets in there calling plays andhe puts that West Coast style offense in
there, right, And it didn'tlook great at the beginning of the year.
It looked really good. By theend of the season. It didn't

(07:13):
look at all good in the playoffs. But I don't know, maybe do
they need more time to let thatAs you're talking about mature and grow up
a little bit, this is onething that you can't You have nothing else
to sell to the fans, right, listen to me. After the COVID

(07:34):
year, twelve and five loose inthe first round. After the next year,
twelve and five win, lose inthe next round. Now, you
fought through the whole year, especiallyafter Philadelphia you won one one. Not

(07:58):
only did you win the NFC Yeast, but you had the second seed in
the whole playoffs NFC, you hadopportunity to be at home twice. I
think I was the only guy tellingeverybody you better look out Matt Lafloor and

(08:20):
this guy Jordan Love offensively, theylook good. Yeah. I just listened
to Troy Aikman and Steven a dotheir spill together. You know they did
it two or three days ago.But I listened to it, and Troy
was thinking the same way that MattLafleur would have this Green Bay team giving

(08:41):
us a little trouble in the firsthalf because they understand who the defensive coordinator
is because he was assistant up onhim during the Super Bowl run. But
back to what you're saying is,you're gonna have to do some do some
things here. Man, You're gonnahave to shake some stuff up. And

(09:01):
coach McCarthy has done a fabulous job, but you cannot sell the fans another
twelve and five in a first roundexit. You're gonna have to sell the
fans something different. And I don'tknow what that difference is. I don't

(09:22):
want Mike McCarthy to leave. Ireally don't, because now you're gonna bring
in a new coach that's gonna tweakthis and tweak that and tweak this,
and do you have the players todo that? Once again, you're actually
your quarterback to make a change,to look at things a little bit different.
Before I get away from the quarterbackright quickly, this is the same

(09:46):
quarterback that has not had success inthe playoffs. This is the same quarterback.
So that's a different discussion a littlebit later on, we're talking about
coach McCarthy. Does he have anothergear, does he have another tactic?
Does he have anything at all leftrand? I'm axking you, I don't

(10:11):
know. I do know that theleast disruptive way to do this thing,
or at least I believe the leastdisruptive way to do this, would be
to take one of the hottest coachingprospect names out there, a man who
will be interviewing with at least fiveNFL teams for coaching openings and vacancies this

(10:33):
year, who happens to be thedefensive coordinator of the Cowboys, Dan Quinn.
Now that was not a great performanceby any means by the defense.
A. Would he be a lessdisruptive change if you're going to make a
change Nate for the Cowboys? AndB is he even still really a serious
candidate after this last entry on hisresume, not only his last entry,

(10:56):
but against the forty nine ers, against the Cardinals, against the first Philadelphia
game. Now, he had ahell of a scheme last year against the
in the playoff loss, and theyear before he had a hell of a
scheme. You know again, wellhe wasn't here but he had a hell
of a scheme. The thing thatbehooves me. And the question you have

(11:20):
to ask is if you keep dayingQuinn, two things have to be answered.
Will you make stopping to run apriority? Because that has been the
last ten years of disaster for theCowboys. Every team that is equal to
us in ability are better. Justsay, you know what, we can

(11:46):
slow down their offense and we're gonnarun on their defense and by the second
quarter we gonna own their defense becausewe will have a lead. This team
was built on and predicated on havinga lead. This team does not have
a lead. It's defense does notplay well at all. So this is

(12:07):
the question you got to ask coachQuinn. And another question you got to
ask Coach Quinn is what's gonna happenhere if they don't fix it real quick
and talk to this kid number eleven, our best defensive player and find out
who he is, what he is, and what he's going to be for

(12:28):
this team, because once he signedthis big contract and the way he acts
now, it'll be even worse ifyou sign this big contract, because this
kid is saying he's a defensive man, you know, And if it suits
him, Oh, I'll play wherever. But that whatever is said in a
way where it's very dismissive, itis very disruptive in his mind. So

(12:54):
you got to find out who thiskid is number eleven because he does not
show up in games where teams liketo run at us. He does not
show up. How people say it'sbecause you're playing defensive n whatever. You
know, this kid is gonna haveto know who he is. He's gonna

(13:16):
have to mature, and that's oneof the things dan Quinn will have to
ask himself if he chooses to eveninterview at all, which I don't think
he will for the Dallas Cowboys job. You don't, no, I don't.
I mean here, if these werenew problems that we were facing,

(13:39):
I would say interview. But butcoach, I love dan Quinn. Every
time I see him, I wantto give him a huge where he's put
us at. You know. Unfortunatefor us is they have not graded the

(14:03):
Cowboys on a regular season win sincenineteen sixty eight, the year after the
Ice Bowl. They have not gradedus on regular season wins. It has
always been playoffs. Great quarterbacks havealways been connected to us through winning playoff

(14:26):
games. I didn't create that.I would think one of thanks Tank Shrom
for creating that to say yeah, yeah, and so if you want to
hold that mantle. You know,I listen to players who say, if
we're going to get where we wantto get, son, let me tell

(14:50):
you something. You weren't even bornwhen we was getting to where we needed
to get. What you need todo is learn how to win a couple
of playoff games. How important itis. But that's another story. I'm
sorry, Rad, I got aoff track. So let's go because we've
kind of walked through the coaching thingand you basically like I do believe you.

(15:11):
At least let McCarthy have next year. He's got a year on the
contract. I'm for keeping status quothere, and I know that's gonna be
tough to sell the fans. What'seven tougher to do, though, would
be to sell everything's the same, right, we're gonna keep Dak in his
place and Mike McCarty in his place. However, it's almost as tough to

(15:33):
do anything with Dak Nate other thanextend him and spread his salary cap hit
out over you know, multiple years, because he's going to cost a team
that nearly sixty million dollars if theykeep the contract as it currently is structured
next year. Let me say thisright here, never been in an earthquake.

(15:54):
I've had tremors when we were outin San Francisco a couple of times.
Yeah, in a real earthquake. The Cowboys got an earthquake that's looming
called Dak the coder Rain. I'mtelling you it is a quagmar. Fifty

(16:15):
nine million dollars. Yeah, ifyou to let him go next year,
fifty nine million dollars. If youwant to keep him on a one year
deal, no, CD, lamb. He will be hot because he won't
be signed. They will not startpre negotiations with Michael Parsons, Michaeh,

(16:40):
a lot of the free agents whoare Jordan Lewis. He is gonna be
gone because you will have no money. It will be like the Milwaukee Bucks
are right now. It will belike Semi like the Mavericks are right now.
Your money is tied up into threeplayers, and your backups and role

(17:04):
players are at a minimum. TheCowboys would not be able to sign no
One of significance unless they say, hey, CD will sign you for twenty
five years. That ain't happening.Hey, Michael, will sign you for
forty five years? That ain't happening. Yeah, no, no, he's

(17:26):
stuck. You're right. So that'swhat we've concluded in the program, Nate,
that we need a seismic shift.Yes, and yet any seismic shift
that we bring up in somewhat distasteful. And this, I guess this is
why. You know, Jerry Jonesand Stephen Jones and to whatever extent Jerry

(17:48):
Jr. Is involved, You know, man, they must not be sleeping
at all, burning in at all, trying to figure out what the heck
to do, because the fan baseis just so overall of them, this
snake, you know, like Isaid, like when we started to show
Brother Rad I'm telling you you've beenlistening to it. Our fans, fans

(18:10):
are so numb right now to Iwent to work, you know, not
Monday, it was a holiday, but I went to work Tuesday. Nobody
was upset. Nobody. It's justlike the Living Dead is just driving.
Everybody's just driving, you know, like they still is shocked, you know,
absolutely, like two days put theCowboys, I mean even Steven A

(18:38):
could not just go off. Imean because he was like, what is
it to go off about. Yeah, you thoroughly, you thoroughly got beat
from snap eleven plays in seven minutesand fifty seconds and you were down seven.

(19:00):
You get the ball, you onlymove the ball seven plays. You
punt the ball. Sam Williams getsa kicker interference. Instead of them starting
on nine giving out dvins some life, they start on the twenty four.
That's the first down and a half. They ain't got any work for.
Then they score again. You're downfourteen zip. Then your quarterback come out

(19:22):
and throw a pick six. Wow, ain't three series later he throws another
pick six. You out of thegame. Now they go into prevent the
rest of the rest of the game. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And
we were talking yesterday and I saidto you, man, at twenty seven

(19:44):
nothing, I knew it was over. And you said, dude, you
said you knew it earlier, wayearlier. You know, I have a
I look at things and this hasnot changed. And then and last year,
this is not changed. If theCowboys are down, check you the

(20:04):
records seven to nine points going intothe second half. I'm talking about against
a winning team with equal a bettertalent and good coaches, tell me the
game they've lost. Tell them exhumans. Tell me the game they've won,
the game they've won. Tell methe game whereas seven to nine points against

(20:27):
a winning team with equal a bettertalent and good coaches, not great coaches,
but good coaches. Tell me whenthe Cowboys have came back and won.
Don't tell me about the Coats.Don't tell me about the Texans.
I'm talking about some show enough fireon their team. We have not won
those games. Come up with one. So when they was up seven nothing,

(20:51):
I told the people. I wasin the press boss who was at
the say, I told the securitypeople because I sit over there with them,
because I don't like sitting in thenormal press boss, because I'm say
something and I don't want to hearthat announcer say. Due to the Sports
Writers' Association, we have a quietbooth. So I go over there and
say with the security because we beover there talking. So uh, I

(21:12):
told him. I said, sevento nothing, y'all, we at least
need three. We didn't give themthree. When they scored fourteen, I
said, well, I guess Iwon't be logging, you know, I
mean used to be logging back atfox logging I stuff and reading, you
know, and going to the showingme writing everything down. I say,

(21:33):
if they score again, I'm throughlogging. They're like what I said,
if they score again, I'm throughlogging. So at fourteen I was just
highlighting stuff. When it was fourteenpoints, I just highlighted if you had
a big play, not a bigplay, a bad play. I went
to highlight, I want to logand everything. And they scored twenty one,
I mean scored twenty and mister kick. So that's it, y'all.

(21:56):
That's it. I say, uh, y'all might as well go around here
and look for I rate fans andpeople that's hacking up because it's gonna be
some fights. Yeah, understand rightabout now the cowboys or how to fight
that the fans do. The fansnever gave up. The fans never gave
up, you know. And Iain't saying that players gave up. But

(22:21):
the whooping, the whooping was complete. See I'm gonna tell you the story.
I don't know your house were at. And see I can say this
because y'all can't go back and donothing to my mom and daddy. We
used to get out behinds whipped yeah, we used to get whipped. And
see I was I'm big. Iwas big as a kid, my brothers
and sisters was big. So wegot whipped, you know. So when

(22:45):
I'm Green Bay Packers, they waswhipping up. It was and it was
over. So these guys was justtrying to show you Ever heard one say
one for the gipper? Yeah forthe gipper. Well, after they got

(23:06):
down twenty to nothing, then itwas twenty seven seven. It was all
about coach McCarthy then, because youdon't put your head coach a guy that
was coming into the playoffs, hehad the safest besides and the Red Mike
Tomlin, which he on the hotseat now, and those were the two

(23:30):
safest coaching along with coach McCarthy.Less than one half thirty minutes all and
a half in. Your coach ison the hot seat because you decided not
to play. Well. See,I'm not blaming this all on coach McCarthy.
I am not doing that right. These players, I hope would take

(23:56):
some of this responsibility. So ifthey do get another coach, you won't
put him in this position. Man. You know, wow, Uh,
they at halftime. You were atthe game, so you didn't see this.
At halftime, Fox did a reallygood thing and right at the end

(24:17):
of their halftime report, they wentto Jimmy on the one shot se you've
seen it, yeah, right onthe one shot, and you know,
you know that's how he used totalk to you. Now again, it
wasn't clean. He had to cleanit up for tav he did. He
didn't talk about getting your behind outthere, you know. He talked about
getting your there, you know. But anyway, but I'm looking at him

(24:37):
and he's got to, you know, stick, get out there and do
what you could do. And I'mlike, man, I'm going out there.
And so you saw straight hand gotdown the three three point stands.
Holy moly, that's what it seemedlike they needed to your point, Maybe
not get one for the gipper, but go out there and be men.
They you know, they they didn't. You know, the difference Nate Betwe

(25:00):
and your mom and daddy whipping youas a kid is you can't do nothing
about it. Right, He's tryingto whip daddy's ass. He's gonna whip
you even hard. Right. TheCowboys had the option they could have whipped
back, but they didn't. Ijust I just believe this right here.
I'm not in their locker room.I don't know what it said, what

(25:22):
transpires, but you you're gonna haveto get guys that that held to a
higher standard. Uh And and Iused myself all the time. I wasn't
the smartest guy in the I wasnot the smartest guy. I didn't always

(25:48):
have the best commons since but TroyEmit, Mike Stepnowsky, Tony Tolbert,
guys stayed on me, man,and I had good examples, guys younger
than me and older than me thatneeded to win for their legacy. They
wasn't gonna let you mess it up. And if they had to walk you

(26:11):
through every scenario, Hey right here, man, we're punting this ball.
We got a chance to pin themdeep. Let's not do anything crazy.
Hey right here, man, we'redown on the one. Hey man,
it's third down. We're gonna tryto get a hard account. Nate,
stay you behind on side. Imean, do it for this team,

(26:33):
bro. Yeah. Yes, Andthat brings up a really really important question,
because what we've discovered here is wehave this conundrum. Nobody is really
sure how to fix it. Andthis is one one of those immeasurables,
Nate. This is a completely immeasurablething. No statistic, no analytic can

(26:57):
help us with this. But dothe Cowboy players have are they selecting?
Are the Cowboys selecting players that haveenough heart? Right? It's about what's
inside sometimes, right. All theseguys are remarkably talented. You know that

(27:18):
everybody in the league is silly talented. They were the best player every step
of the way where they were.Do they have enough heart, Nate?
And if not, how do weinfuse that? How do we make to
where they do have that? Theycall control bullies. The left tackle for
the forty nine ers, a controlbully, A couple of defensive linemen control

(27:45):
bullies. Preston Smith for the GreenBay Packers, a control bully, A
guy that you can that's going todrop the hammer at any time, A
control bully. Kenny Clark seven.See these are you know? Like I
tell people, next year, I'mgonna go to the Cowboys and I may
just do a podcast by myself becauseI'm the most people tell you when I'm

(28:10):
doing my pocket, I am thebiggest Cowboy homer, and it takes Let
me tell you something, Rare,Let me tell you something please do.
If I didn't love you, ittakes all I got to fire you from
being a Detroit line because you can'tsplit in the NFC. You can't have

(28:30):
dual lorgies and say you love myCowboys. But due to the fact that
you moved way out and wherever youmove to, it saves you. Okay,
it saves you. I cut mysister over here because over here with
that whip out on, wouldn't mysister in law say I'm a Philadelphia fan
and a and a Cowboy fan.She never got another ticket from me ever.

(28:55):
No, because if you're in theNFC, you can only be one
thing. You need to be aDetroit fan, or you can be a
Cowboy FANFC, you can another team. I could be a Bills fan if
I want it. Yeah, itwouldn't bother me one bit. Wouldn't bother
me one bit. But now Ineed you. You my You're my captain,
you my my quarterback, and youget me in and out of great

(29:18):
conversations. So I gotta I gottamake exception. It's Troy, it's Troig.
Mac does for Joe book, JoeBuck when he goes it does baseball.
I got a big exception. Yeah, yeah, yeah, No,
I get that, and I reallydo because, uh I, I have
encouraged people. Hey, I gota good solution for you have another favorite

(29:41):
team. But you're right. Imean, it's it's dicey boys, and
when they're in the same conference,it's very dice because they're gonna play a
lot more. Yes, right, yes, hey, jump on the Texan
spam wagon, Norange jump. Ohmy god, no, I can't do
it. I can't do it.Man. It's too close to the state,

(30:02):
it's close, too close to homefront. But but what I'm trying
to say is this right here, there's no bigger homer than me. But
my job is not to homorize things. My job is to give you an
honest opinion and be open to yourthoughts. Now, I'm not that guy.

(30:22):
I'm not that teacher or that personthat say every question is a good
question. I don't believe that.So don't ask me nothing stupid, you
know, don't try to you know, hey, man, well that's my
opinion. Well your opinion is stupid, so keep it to yourself. But
open good dialog, common sense, you know, because we ain't gonna get

(30:45):
rid of both McCarthy and dak Soyou can forget that. We ain't getting
rid of both of them, youknow. And whether you liked or not,
fifty nine million dollars say you loveit. I got fifty nine million
dollars say you'd love it at leastfor another year. So that's what it

(31:06):
is. So and by the way, speaking of the teacher that says there's
no bad questions, how about thequestion they asked the Todd Bowles. That
poor girl, she goes through allthis quest Oh hey, so it's thirteen
degrees in Detroit. How are youpreparing your team to get ready for that

(31:27):
terribly frigid weather. Well they playinga dome. We weren't going to be
about twenty seconds from the bus tothe dome and we'll be fine. He
was nice about it. Man,that poor thing. She's a viral.
Now, that girl. That's abad question. That teacher was wrong,
you know, the bad question isthe thing that hurts. It was just

(31:51):
honest question. Was she a mediait was type or was she just yeah,
she has a media type asked thatquestion. I think she was.
I mean, she prepared, youknow, bless her. And look,
we've all brain fired out there saysomething like, oh, I knew that,
right, But she's looking at herphone goal I'm trying to find something
to grab out it out or defendit. I'm not to do the Swiss

(32:15):
of things. Sorry, you don'teven know what You don't even know that's
what got I don't know the poorthing. But anyway, that was a
bad question. But but the bigquestion here really is so you know,
we say you kind of need thisbig shift, but we can't really justify

(32:37):
making that big move. I mean, you know, can the Cowboys come
back with essentially essentially status quo andand make anybody believe things will be different?
I believe things would be different.Let me tell you something. I

(32:58):
think I believe that it was thisissues you have to fix, And I
mean, you can't fix some bandaidstyle. And I'm talking down here to
my mic, so I want youto hear me. You can't fix some
band aid style. You have togo out and get you a thumping linebacker
that when he hits, she hitswhatever it is, it stops. It

(33:24):
stops it. Don't grab and holdand get drug for two yards. Whenever
this linebacker hits you, it stopsyou. And if he's a first and
second down linebacker. I do notcare. But you have to go out
and get a linebacker that hits youand stops you. And you have to

(33:47):
go out and get you an offensivelineman. I don't care if you draft
it, and I don't care ifit's free agency. You got to go
out and get you another offensive linemanthat's under twenty eight years old. Yes,
yes, And so I think thingschange. I think I think especially

(34:12):
the point about the linebacker is sowell taken, because there was green Bay
beating up, as you mentioned, already almost eight minutes of the first quarter
on the first drive, and Dakadmitted afterwards the whole time that's happening,
he's sitting on the bench and hishead is spinning. Right. So there

(34:32):
is your cause and effect, ifyou will, right, there is this
happened and that caused this to happen. And consequently, you know, Dak
came out and he just wasn't himself, and he you know, and he
never found himself in that entire game, in part because the defense couldn't get

(34:52):
a stop when green Bay took theball to start the game, Nate,
you know, and we we hadwere supposed to have had a great offense,
a good offense. But you knowwhat's so sad about our offense?
Is we so smart? Do wedo we give that away? Green Bay

(35:13):
didn't give the opportunity away. GreenBay like y'all, y'all flipped this coin,
y'all giving us the ball. Weknow y'all got ninety thousand people here.
We don't care we going down andscore because if we know, if
we get three points or even seven, that puts your defense in the condrey.
Yeah, our defense goes into hyperdrive. When when they got to

(35:34):
when they when they figure they gotto stop the run, and they scored,
and then and and and I'm tellingyou Matt Lafleur saying, oh oh
oh, they want to rush thepassing. We're gonna let them run and
see if they want to eat upthis, eat up this Aaron Aaron Jones?
Or do they want number thirty one? A J. Dillon didn't even

(35:57):
play. Yeah, he had anotherkid, number thirty one. I don't
even remember his name. Yeah.So the thing is, until you learn
to play from behind, in front, or even we can play from in
front. We can do that veryvery well. Even we okay, we

(36:20):
five hundred from behind, we arelosers. So until you learn how to
play from all points of the gameagainst equal a better talent, you gonna
always have this problem when you getto the playoffs because the playoff explore exposes
all of your flaws, every oneof them, and it magnifies it to

(36:43):
the second degree. So since we'retalking about possibly a free agent lineman,
possibly a free agent linebacker, theyhave to extend Dak, right, That's
the only way to minimize that caphit is to give him a contract extension
and spread it out over years. So you know, how long are we

(37:07):
prepared to do that? How longare we prepared to have Dak be the
guy? I don't know, Yeah, I don't know. Because if they
hire a new coach, that's thequestion they're going to ask the coach,
and that's the question the coach shouldask. Then, when Jared said,
now we've told you what we expecting, We've asked you the questions we want

(37:30):
to ask you. Do you haveany questions? Coach? I got a
lot. You know. It's Dak. Yeah, it's Dak. You man.
Can I go talk to to Parsonsand you know what I'm saying,
What are you going to do withceedee lamb, how you? I mean,
it's like four or five guys thata coach would want to know how

(37:50):
you want to handle this as anorganization. It's only two or three guys,
four or five guys that you wouldask that question about, you know,
and kids snow getting around it.I mean that is you know,
the elephant in the room. Now, it's the bull bull elephant in the
room with the eighteen foot that's throwingeverything around. Bro that he is something

(38:15):
different in the room. Yeah, fifty nine million dollars, that's a different
elephant, bro. So we settlednothing. But I think obviously that's and
that's sort of the game that JerryJones and Stephen Jones and Will McClay and

(38:37):
everybody who's involved in that decision making. That's the game they play the week
after a loss like this, isn'tit? These are huge decisions. Uh
no, no, no, nono no no no no no, no
no no. That is the gamethat is played after a playoff loss.

(38:58):
No no, this is not afterjust a game. This is a first
round three two years in a row. Exit. See this and people say,
no, they never they went tothe second game last year. No
no no no no no no nono no no. You won the first
game, you lost the second game, so you're still on the first game.

(39:23):
You have to actually win the secondgame before you have a second round
exit. Yeah yeah, yeah, you know what I'm saying. And that
exit only exits to a win.See Nah, that's twisted thinking by Nate
Newton, who don't like losing andain't gonna accept it. Y'all can think
how y'all want? And that's thatcrazy thing where the teachers said there's no

(39:45):
wrong answer. Well, I justgave you a wrong answer, but I'm
sticking to that answer. I appreciatethat, Nate. I appreciate Niagara.
I appreciate the whole season we've had. I wish we had lots more Cowboys
football to talk about this season,Nate, but we don't. We don't.
Give us about two weeks and we'llbe definitely back. We may take

(40:08):
a little break with the playoffs.Men, me and Rad and I think
we're in a big transition and we'llhave some other things to talk about here
soon. That's very helpful for thefans and ourselves. So just bear with
us here. You may see usnext week and you may not, but
Niagara, we love you. We'veenjoyed your sponsorship, and and I've enjoyed

(40:30):
rad Man. He's a he's sunshine. We can just get rid of the
line. Oh man, I can'tdo it. I was just going to
end it with go Lions. ButI'll also say I love you, Nate.
It's been fun. It's been fun. I ain't gonna near you for
a minute until whatever happens to theLions because I don't want to get that.
I want to take that whooping.Uh So you know I like your
head coach. I love your headcoach. So all right, all right,

(40:52):
my brother, we'll talk soon. It's been so much fun. And
uh yeah, well I can't waitfor you to tell me something again.
Yes, sir, y'all be good, God bless you. Happy New Year.
