Wow, what a day, whata week? History made in North
Texas. Actually that was kind ofmade in the desert, but we're bringing
it back to North Texas. JohnRadigan here, Nate Newton there, Yes,
we talk cowboys. But right now, Nate, I think you and
me need to tell these people thatwe have got to. Let me tell

(01:12):
you something, John, you triedto set it up, but I think
you so excited about these rages.Joe was trying to say, let us
tell you something, Lip me tellyou something. Hey, John, I'm
excited too, man. The rangerswhat they need ya don't worry about it.
Man. We work for Niagara,Baby, we flushing it down.
We already go, We already passit, baby, Niagara Plumbing. Thank

(01:36):
you for this sponsorship. But man, I got my boy rats he excited.
I mean, when have you everknown an announcer to be so excited
that he can't even get it getit out of his bot out his words.
Man, But go ahead on,John, tell us about these ranges.
What a great, great accomplishment sixtythree years, Nate. Basically,

(01:56):
this franchise was born in the sameyear that you and I were nineteen sixty
one? Are you kidding me?That's how far back it go. We
were all born the same year. You've won three championships since then. I
haven't really won any, but atleast I was around for your three.
N You rolle. We men didwhat we have, went out in Arizona,

(02:21):
so we'd be both these chaps bothin Arizona. Baby. Oh yeah,
how about that? That's the lastCowboys Championship was out there in the
Valley of the Sun too, notfar from where the Rangers won. There
is so amazing, man, Itwas so much fun to watch, It
was so much fun to be apart of I got to do some of
the post game work on Ballely youdo so, yeah, man, I'm

(02:42):
back there now and I'm doing NBA, but I got to do some of
the post game on on Bally So. Man, it was just a great,
great ride for the Rangers. Andit's just you know, when you
when I'm good friends with Eric Nadell, you know who does the Rangers games
on radio and has since nineteen seventynine, back when we were still in
high school. Yes, man, yes, yeah, and Eric, you

(03:06):
know Eric called the end of thatgame perfectly. When you see someone I
haven't talked to him yet, butsomeone like him to appreciate this, man,
that's a long rush of futility. And all I'm seeing on the social
media post this morning, Nate, are all the different people who this means
so much to them because they usedto watch their Ranger games with their parents

(03:32):
or maybe their grandparents, someone who'sno longer with us. They know how
much it means to those people whohave waited so long to see this day
and here it is, the WorldSeries champions reside in North Texas. Man,
I'm just happy for all you fans, and I tell people I'm not.
You know, I can't. Ican't fake. You know, I'm

(03:53):
not a hanger on, and Idon't get on the band wagon because I
probably would be that dude that wouldbust the axle. But I promise you
this right here, I'm happy foryou, rang your fans. We got
up this morning. I told mywife and said, the Rangers once I
think five zip, you know, they took it. But I was reading
up on it and out, Yeah, I just want to just touch on
it. Managers like Ted Williams,Martin. I mean, we had a

(04:17):
president as an owner, Ivan Pudge. Just think of all the great personalities,
the great people who've been a partof this thing, but never ever
took it over the top. Andso when you look at the manager bouchie,
you look at Chris Young, andI'm the statements he made in Spring

(04:40):
Trainer, Why did y'all go outand spend this money? We're tired of
losing? Do you know what thatmeans? Oh? Yeah, man,
this franchise lost so much it drovethe great Ted Williams out of the game.
He was just like, oh mygod, we lost one hundred games.
I gotta quit this. He managedhim in Washington he managed them the

(05:03):
first year. Here Tom Grief tellsme that story. Another good friend of
mine, fifty five years with theorganization, and he is now, you
know, celebrating the fact that there'sa world championship. Tom tells me,
you know, Ted Williams used tosay, man, just go hit.
And Ted Williams the greatest hitter ofall time. And Tom's like, Tom,

(05:24):
Ted, we're not you. Wecan't hit like that. But that's
all he wanted to do. Wouldjust go hit. He didn't want to
work on fielding, he didn't wantto work on you know pictures, fielding
practice and all the drills. Hejust wanted to go hit. And that's
what the Rangers did last night. Not for six innings, Nate, not
for sex. That cat threw ano hitter through six innings. I was

(05:45):
thinking, oh, here we go, we're going back home. It's you
know, a no hitter through sixand here came Corey Seeger with a little
And I love this when you beatthe ship because I hate the shift and
you can't really shift anymore. Butthey still do to extent whatever extent they
can. You got to have, you know, certain rules adhered to,

(06:05):
but they shifted over, got awayfrom third base. Corey Seger never hits
it down the third base line. What do you do to get that first
hit? Reached out into the bat, little squibber down the third base line.
He will do what it takes towin, Nate. That's what MVPs
do. He's only the second positionplayer ever to win two MVPs of the

(06:29):
World Series. Him, Him andmister October Reggie Jackson the only two position
players. And then you got BobGibson the Great Picture of the Cardinals and
Sandy Kofax the Great Picture of theDodgers. They're the only four that have
ever won two MVPs in two differentworlds. Serve me this before we go.
We got this got locked down fora few years, right, mister

(06:53):
Segert. We got him locked down. Yes we do, Okay, yes
we do. We got him lockeddown. I'm going to pay him after
this year, you know, yeah, yeah, he might want to renegotiation.
He's amazing, man. He's likea robot in eight all season long.
I don't know that I've ever seena player like him in any sport
that is just so focused. Youshould see the routine that he goes through

(07:17):
every day where he sets up alittle camera like what we've got right here,
and he ties it back to whereverhis hitting coaches. And every day
he goes in the hallways behind theclubhouse, not in the batting cages anywhere
like that, he goes through hissame routine. And man, his first
year, we're all all of us, especially those of us can see it

(07:38):
a lot on the road, thoseof us would travel with the team.
We're kind of looking him like, what is with this dude? Man?
What does he do? Every day? One hundred and sixty two games a
year, he is out there onthe camera talking to his guy, doing
this same routine. And man, does it payoff for this guy because when
you need him the most, oughtthat home run he hit when the Rangers

(08:01):
are down in Game one to tiethat thing up in the ninth inning.
Come on, let me say thisright here. When you are a great
player, you mentioned it that lasttime we was together, Troy. The
routine never changed. If it's awinning routine, is it a routine that

(08:22):
keeps you focused, corrects you andgets you back in line. Why do
you get away from that routine? And and I'm quite sure we y'all was
looking at that guy. You probablyI'm glad I went to party team because
they probably got rid of me becauseI'd have been joking and clowning all day
about it. But walk us throughthat, man, walk us, walk
us through those first hitless six innings. Man, what what did we have

(08:46):
chances with guys on base, withguys in position to score. These guys
just shut them out all together. So, first of all, I could
see you, Nate like photo bombingwhen he's back there, he's talking with
dude, Nate's behind him. Icould see that Cory Siegall. He'd do

(09:07):
since you're a teammate, he'd justgive you a dirty look. He'd be
like, the hell you doing? But yes, so no, there was
no base runner until the fourth inning. That's when when that gum look low,
Nathaniel Low, your name sake,Nate Low. He got ah,
he got a walk. So thisdude was perfect four And the only pitcher

(09:30):
that's ever done a perfect game inthe World Series was Don Larson back in
nineteen fifty six. This dude tookhis no hitter longer than anybody ever has
in uh an elimination game. Right, it's happened in the World Series before,
not in an elimination game. Itwas a clutch pitching performance. He

(09:50):
was nails. He was unbelievable. He was so hard to hit. He
was in control of everything. Hehad that curveball, and he'd set you
up, you know, outside fastball, outside fat drop that curving on you.
The curveball would just be devastating. That was his strikeout pitch. And
he didn't have that pitch the lasttime he faced the Rangers in Game one.

(10:11):
Man, he had it yesterday andhe was devastating. He was extremely
hard to hit, which is anothercredit to the Rangers, because you know,
there's a part of you mentally,I think, Nate and you've never
played series like this. As anNFL players, it's always winner take off
once you get to the playoffs, but you know there could be a part

(10:31):
of a team in that case.Whoa damn, this is this dude's night.
Okay, we'll have to win itin game six. You know that's
cool. We'll win it in frontof our fans at home, right.
I think human nature could take overand let you say that, and all
credit to these Rangers, and allcredit to Bruce Bochie they weren't going to
go there. They needed they knewwe got a chance to win this thing

(10:54):
tonight. We've got to win ittonight. And really, as a fan,
I'm sitting there going, man, this isn't bad. This is pretty
cool to see this kind of pitchingduel, and and you know, wonder
which pitcher's gonna win because they hadn'tscored either. Obviously they never did,
but but you're like, this isa cool game, man, And if
there's a no hitter and you knowwe have to come back and win it

(11:16):
in game six, that's cool, but you know you have to win it
when you have the opportunity to doso. And all credit to Nathan Valdi
who did not have his best stuffand still battled through. He had nine
at bats where he faced the ArizonaDiamondbacks with runners and scoring position. None

(11:37):
of them were able to capitalize onthose at bats in a crucial game like
that, So man, he didhis job and then some And I saw
my buddy Dave Raymond, who's theTV guy with me on Ballely on play
by play, he said, I'mnot this is when the no hitters still
going on, and he's like I'mnot sure whose pitching performance is more impressive,

(12:00):
because Nathan Navaldi was just He's thatbulldog man. He came through every
time the Rangers needed him most.I just I'm so happy for the range
of fans, and I'm so happyyou're excited. I mean, you to
a Detroit connection and all of that. I mean, yeah, you,
Finnah, just come straight to Texasand from now cheer everything Texas. Are

(12:24):
you going to still have your alliancesoutside of the state. Well, you
know, it's funny. We'll goback to twenty eleven when the Rangers played
the Tigers in the American League ChampionshipSeries and I was with the team on
the road. I remember I actuallyhanded the ball to the I think it
was I think it was the GrandSlam ball that Nellie Cruz hit to win

(12:48):
like Game four. I think itwas back here and I somehow end up
with it. I ended up givinghim the ball on TV and so forth,
you know. So and people arelike my family especially, they're like,
whoa, whoa who You're telling usyou're not rooting for the Tigers.
I'm like, dude, I know, like in Annelly in that case,

(13:09):
Michael YOUNGI and Kinsern Derrek Collin.I'm still buy all these guys. I
know them, I know their wives, I know their kids, I know
everybody in this organization. These arefriends of mine, and yes I'm rooting
for them. I'm rooting for myfriends. I basically don't know anybody on
this Tigers team, so it changesit right in that regard. Now I'm

(13:30):
gonna say this. Now, I'venever told you this. I'm going to
say this. When you guys lostto the Lions in ninety early ninety two,
I think it was right. Iwas on that trip too, and
I don't think I've ever told anybodyfrom the Cowboys organization this. But I
woke up that morning We're in theteam hotel. I woke up that morning,
I'm like, man, who doI want to win? And I've

(13:54):
only been at that point. I'monly two years removed from Michigan, right,
and so who do I want towin? Oh? I want the
Lions to win? Right? Thatwas me that morning, right? And
then and then they did, AndI was the only happy so ob on
that plane going on man Jimmy Johnsonfighting, You know, I was happy.

(14:16):
I couldn't I couldn't show it Jimmyespecially, but I'm drinking my little
beer. Yeah, the Lions. The Lions are going to a NFC championship
game. But I've flipped on thatright. You know, once I once
I got to know all you guysbetter, once I got to take that
ride with you through three you know, championships and all that. You know,

(14:37):
if the Cowboys are playing the Lionstoday and neutral could be it could
be a battle in December. Nay, in December thirtieth. I think it
is either're six and two Cowboys rightnow are five and two? That one
could be a big, big game. So uh yeah, I'll be a
little more neutral. I will saythis ever since day and Campbell got there,

(15:01):
baby Bill Coward, that's what Icome. Man. I love Dan
Campbell and you know you were gone, I think by the time he played
for the Cowboys, but uh hewas, he was just and I did
one of my radio shows I didwith Dan. I love Dan, so
I'm rooting for him big time. But yeah, that'll be a tough one.
I'll have to reassess how I feelon that December thirtieth game. I

(15:22):
think I'll be going Cowboys. ButI do know this man, Uh,
the Ranger fans be happy. Trafficwill be flowing pretty easy. Everybody will
let you in when it's time, the ex'll let you out or whatever.
So at least the day'll be nice. You know. The parade is win
Friday. I'm not sure of theroute, but it's Friday's tomorrow. Yeah,

(15:43):
so they do. They have moreallegiance to Arlington, which they should,
so this parade should go through Arlingtonbecause this ain't got nothing to do
with Dallas. I hate to saythat. Yeah, yeah, no,
I know, and I think itwill. I think it'll go through Arlington,
and and you know, I don'tknow exactly what the route will be,

(16:03):
but obviously you know it's gonna,i'm sure, end up at at
Globe Life Field and not unlike youknow yours, did you got it at
some point get the team back toa place where they can kind of address
the crowd, you know, sinceTexas Stadium was so far from Dallas on
your parades, you know, youguys had to go to the Convention Center
or whatever. But like I remembercovering the Stars parade and the and the

(16:27):
Mavericks in twenty eleven, and bothof them Stars ended up at reunion arena,
Mavericks ended up in an American Airlinecenter. That's when we got that
great video of Dirt Novitzky up therewith a cigar in his mouth singing,
Yeah, it's just fantastic. Yeahwow, man, I just it's just

(16:51):
sometime you have to do whatever ittakes, man. And yeah, Chris
Young and the ownership and you know, and one thing I'm gonna say it
again, I mean the fans neverwavered. Man. They groaned a little
bit, they wondered a little bit, but they continue to come to the
stadium. And now where they're talkingabout three million next year, maybe fans

(17:14):
just no flooding this place, manand giving them they just do And just
man, you know, like meand my wife were just laughing because I'm
like, we're just happy for thefans, cause were like, I don't
really know the range of players.I'm finna get on this deal with Rad
and Rag gonna be excited. I'mgonna be excited because Rad excited. Well,

(17:37):
I'll tell you that about three milliontoo. And I want to get
back to Chris Young and Ray Davis. But three million at this new ballpark
is significant because you know, thirtyeight thousand is a sellout here. We'd
gotten three million a few times afterthe twenty ten and twenty eleven runs to
the World Series. You know, the Rangers had a couple of seasons there,
you know, in the early teamwhere they drew three million fans,

(18:03):
not as significant when you got afifty thousand seat Ballparker forty eight whatever it
was. This is ten thousand fansper night less if you sell out,
and they will likely, they'll likely, especially being champions. And because it's
also so comfortable in there, man, it's such a great place to watch
it. Thirty five years Yeah, yeah, exactly. And that is a

(18:25):
credit also to Ray Davis and thevoters and the fans too. But you
know, Ray Davis put a lotof money up for that, put so
much money up for this, thisvision that Chris Young ultimately executed, right.
And I give Chris Young so muchcredit for the execution of this vision.
Also, I give him a tonof credit for one of the first

(18:49):
people he mentioned when he was onNational TV accepting that trophy last night was
basically his mentor and friend John Daniels, helped construct this vision, right,
and certain things happen. We knowthat people get fired. Sports is a
business. But I thought it wasreally big of Chris Young to mention the

(19:11):
fact that John Daniels had a significantrole in what we watched in Arizona lesson
and I'm so happy. I'm sohappy, man. You know, you
know, you always wish a guycould be there. Man, But you
know, and I used to beone of the guy. What oh he
mentioned his name, if you know, if you but you know what,
some people deserve mentioning, and itjust it's not to be forgotten in certain

(19:33):
instances. Man. And I hopethey send him a ring or something,
or send him something, you know, just saying hey, man, thank
you for your services. You knowwhat I'm saying. Sometime the gold watch
is good. I don't care whatpeople say. You worked fifth years.
All I got was a gold Watchah, that's more than what most people get,
you know what I'm saying. Soyeah, but man, just true.
You just think, when did thistruly start? Year, this rebuild,

(20:02):
this re changing of the mind istransformation. When did this really start?
What year? Rad Really it beganunbelievably sometime, no doubt, in
the middle of that one hundred lostseason just two years ago. In twenty
twenty one. Right, so theRangers lose one hundred and two in twenty

(20:26):
twenty one. They were embarrassed. They were it was the first year that
you know, fans could actually cometo Globe Life Fields, and nobody wanted
to. I mean, if youknow, more than more than would have
did because they'd never seen the ballpark. But you know, the product on
the field was not what they werethere for. And ownership was embarrassed by

(20:48):
that, and the general manager wasembarrassed by that, and his new assistant,
Chris Young, was embarrassed by that, and they said, we've got
to We've got some really good younglayers in the organization right now. We
have got to support them. Andwhat you usually do in baseball, Nate
in that case is you wait untilthe Josh Youngs of the world, the

(21:11):
Evan Carters of the world, youknow, these guys that we've seen come
up and do so well. Usuallyyou wait for those guys to get to
the big lead league level and thenyou support them with free agents. And
what John Daniels part of the planwas, I'll never forget this when they
spent five hundred million dollars basically onNathan. I mean on the first year

(21:36):
they spent the money on Corey SeegerMarcus Simeon and John Gray, right,
and so half a billion dollars theyspent. And remember John Daniels saying,
normally you wait until your young coreis there and then support it with free
agents. He said, but wesaw this free agent class was so good,

(21:56):
we decided to do it in reverse. We're gonna bring the free agents
in and then our young core comesup and they support these free agents.
And that's exactly what happened. That'swhere the vision began, right, And
then they still turned around and lostninety four games last year with half a
billion dollars spent, And to behonest with you, you know what that

(22:18):
might be, right, why RayDavis just got so mad. He's like,
we spent half a billion dollars, what's our GM doing? Telling me
that we lost nine ninety four loseforget it, We're gonna get We're gonna
change this whole thing. And thenand look, they'd have tried to do
the exact same thing they did thispast offseason, getting to Grom, getting
Evaldi, getting Heeni, getting allthat pitching. They would have tried to

(22:41):
do that exact same thing if JohnDaniels was still here. And the main
key to that is Ray Davis. So you know, Chris Young executes the
plan, Ray Davis and Neil Leebmanright the checks, and boom you end
up with their first World Series championship. That is magnificent, man, that

(23:03):
that right there, and see andwhen you see and that's why fans.
You know, I don't talk aboutthis a lot, but that's why fans
are mad when anything about a tradedeadline or anything about free agency pop up
and you tell your fans we're close. And then when these periods because a

(23:26):
lot of time, these periods passedfor the Rangers in nineteen eighteen, nineteen
up until twenty's you know, nowit's with the Cowboys. These times keep
passing and fans are like, wow, look at Philadelphia, they just improve
themselves. Look at the forty nineers, they just you know, and

(23:48):
that's why fans upset. But everybodyhas a game plan, and if you
buy in it at the beginning ofthe year, you got to stay in.
You know, you can't just youknow, take all your chips out
because they don't on the table. So my hat's off to the Rangers man,
and they bought in, they stayedin. But more importantly, I
want you to talk about mister Bouchi, the manager. How did he swing

(24:11):
this man? He's unbelievable, hereally is. I mean, you know,
I knew I thought he'd be great. Right. Mark Macklamore, my
partner in Rangers Live for all theseyears, told me when when they got
Boach. He said, this isthe unbelievable great, greatest, best manager

(24:33):
they've ever had, all this stuff. And I said why and he said,
because he is so calm. NowMac never played for it, but
he watched him, right, Hesaid, this dude is so calm in
the dugout. He just he knowswhat's going on. You know, every
time he makes a move, You'relike, what the heck? He brings

(24:56):
in a Roleedest Chapman in front ofJosh Bords last night. You know it
had gone spores Chapman and then laclerkright, that was the seventh night.
Here comes a role as Chapman.I'm like, wow, what's he doing
here? And is he just bypassingsvorese No. Then he brings Bores in
and ends up. Josh gets thefinal. I think seven outs because la

(25:19):
Clerk was still a little uh sore, not in pain, but sore from
the night before, right. Imean, these are all decisions he makes
and and he executes them to perfection. He's like five steps ahead of almost
everybody else in the stadium, andthat gives players confidence. Man, they

(25:41):
know Mac knew. Mac was like, you know why he goes He's he's
gonna be sitting in the dugout andhe'll go, you're next year after him,
and the dudes are like, whatwhat are you even talking about?
And then that'll happen, right, because he sees the way the game is
going to unfold. And he's funHe's funny. He's a great storyteller.

(26:06):
Man. He is the total packageas a manager. And you know,
I believe this is just the beginningof what could be a pretty long stretch
of success. Can you win itevery year? I don't know, but
this Ranger team is poised for somelong term success. Man. It's just
great to hear. Man, I'mexcited for you, I say, wow,

(26:29):
I mean, yeah, I appreciateit. I appreciate it. Brother,
I'm excited for all these fans thathave waited all these years and all
these players who have worked so hard, and you know, and I don't
I don't blame them for not bringingthe moment down last night, But I
wanted someone to ask Nathaniel about hismama. His mama's you know, can't

(26:49):
be there, Wendy Low God blessher. She's battling brain cancer and and
I wanted him to have the opportunityto give her a shout out on TV.
But I know it's a tough thingto bring up as an announcer when
you're standing there with him. Butyou know, he would have loved that.
He would have loved to say tohis mom, you know how much

(27:11):
he loves her and how happy heis that she's gotten to see this.
So anyway, man, you know, there's there's those stories within that clubhouse.
You know that I just just loveand have loved telling over all these
years. I tell you, likethis here, Uh it'll never It'll never
be forgotten. And these guys havefriendships, man, you know whatever I

(27:36):
mean, especially being at first toever do something for organization, to be
a part of it, no matterhow small, how big, and uh,
you know, I know people don'twant to hear this, but the
jobs that would spend from this, you know, I mean for everyone.
I remember when we when we wonour first super Bowl, and I look

(27:57):
back at all of the guys thaton national TV. I'm not I'm talking
about only players. I'm talking aboutlocal guys as yourself, who worked with
the Cowboys, who did things forand outside of the Cowboys. I still
see these guys to this day onnational TV, just because of those championships.

(28:17):
And you'll see these same guys ifthey keep their mind right and stay
professional, You'll see a lot ofthese guys that's playing baseball on TV doing
things saying, hey, I rememberwe back in such and such twenty twenty
three, we did this at theWorld Series. And You'll be like,
wow, you know, I didn'tknow he could talk. Well, I
ain't no Troy I could do this. Trouve is so quiet. I didn't

(28:40):
know he was gonna be one ofthe top announce you know, Yeah,
damn what he's he's yeah got Colorado? Can you see us now? I
mean Mike Irvin, you know NFL. You know Woody used to be on
the list. I'm not. Youlook around and you just see the success
that winning breeds Man. The successand all of this succumbs your range just

(29:03):
but you have to stay focused, right and and and and people say they
enjoy the championship. Coach Johnson toldus, you won't be able to enjoy
this championship two months, months,or maybe years later, when when it
is so far away, that's whenyou'll look back and say, wow,

(29:26):
look what we did. I wasyou know, mister Seegar probably never said
out loud, but one day, man, he'll be sitting on the can
back then. Now, I sittingon the can getting rid of a few,
and he'll look up and say, man, not once, but twice
I would say MVP. And hemay not. He may leave out of
the can and not say a wordto nobody, but in his mind he'll

(29:49):
say wow, now once, butwhy only the second position player? You
know what I'm saying. And Ijust tell people, you know, I'm
not a brain. I don't.I don't do that. But sometime,
man, I stop and think. When I see Troy on TV, I
see Mike, you know, gopast, and I said, wow,
I played with that dude. He'sa Hall of Famer, you know.

(30:14):
And when along those lines, Nate, do you remember, I mean,
because your stretch was four years, was there any point during the four year
run of success that you were ableto appreciate the first one? Or did
you have to get through them allbefore you began to appreciate you know?
Coach was right, yeah, hewon't gonna let us celebrate, you know,

(30:37):
I mean, now you know usright, we celebrated after the game,
and we paraded after the game. But it wasn't two months and it
was like, what are you gonnado this year? I mean, what
we're gonna do that Jimmy from celebratethis Hey, you need to lose some
weight. I'm like, come on, Coach, I'm just trying to just
had an extra bottle of champagne broke. So but I'm telling you, even

(31:03):
though guys are periodically say wow,we're the world champions, if you want
to repeat, you'll keep the feelingin your heart and you'll work just a
five percent harder coming into the yearbecause you have went what a month longer
than anybody else, So your bodyhas wear and tear on it that no

(31:26):
one else got. So you, especially the pictures, they got to get
some win. Sit down, theygot down, man, they gotta they
gotta actually put their arm up,put you know, put whatever the heating
they got, and just rest thatbullpen. The other night. They're gonna
have to rest. They were stresseda little bit, you know what I'm

(31:47):
saying. They were stressing. Theygot to get somewhere in rest. Now.
You know, the guys who swinginga bat and running around at them,
they are all, come on,man, But them guys who have
been pitching, they're gonna have toget some rest, get themselves a month.
Yeah, those hitters, those hitterswould go at it tomorrow if they
could. But yeah, but you'reright, and it's such a long season,
you know, until people do it. Until I did the whole one

(32:12):
sixty two man, where you playone hundred and sixty two games in one
hundred and eighty days. Man,it is a grind. And those guys
I've never one time I was close, but I've never done the entire spring
training. But they're at spring trainingmid February, and look at here,
we're at the almost we're in Novemberydudes don't load management. They don't load

(32:35):
management. They load by playing. You know. Yeah, that's why the
NBA played every game. That's whythe injury has a lot of injuries.
That's why the NBA has a lotof injuries because number one, they don't
prepare in training camp. And that'swhat's wrong with the NFL. That's why
we so soft as the NFL,because we don't prepare in training camp and
then when the season start, youknow, dudes still get off base in

(33:00):
the middle of a you know, but anyway, Rangers, way to go,
man, Yeah, way to go. UN's awesome. All right,
real quick, how much time wegot. Let's talk a little bit about
the h This Eagles game. Now, Uh, this is this is bigger,
Nate than we thought it was goingto be, just in that you
know, they've only lost one,but the Eagles have come back to the

(33:22):
pack a little bit. The Cowboys, you know, had that big win
over the Rams. So you know, this game, man, we knew
it would mean a lot. Butif they were still undefeated, you know,
the Cowboys would basically be two anda half games behind them. They're
not undefeated. Cowboys win and youknow, both teams are sitting there with
the same record. The thing thatI'm trying to tell everybody is, and

(33:49):
I will continue to say this allyear as we do these shows, right,
it's all gonna come down to Dakand our defense. And if Dak
she just played stincure like he hasthe last two games. You know,
Like I tell people, it's adifference between running and it's a different and
pocket presence, the ability to scrambleto get rid of the ball or to

(34:15):
scramble to prepare to run the ball. This team, the Eagles, only
give us up sixty five yards agame, sixty five point five yards a
game, three point nine yards ofcarry. They are not playing. We
did not try to throw the balllast week. I mean we did not
try to run the ball. Evenafter the three sacks within the fourth place,

(34:38):
you notice we didn't come back andtry to run the ball. We
continue to throw the ball because wethought that their secondary was vulnerable. This
secondary here is vulnerable. But thedifference is you have a better defense.
Number ninety nine Aaron Donald is thebest in the business at what he does.
But they have four haull up frontthat can dominate the game. Jalen

(35:02):
Carter, Jordan Davis, Fletcher Cox, Hassan Reddick. They got sweat over
there. They got guys that candominate the game. We got uh Barnett
coming off the bench, was thefirst round pick out of Tennessee a couple
of years ago. You got BrandonGraham that's still in the sea, so
they can come at you in waves. The Cowboys would have to try to

(35:24):
run the ball, and as longas you don't have negative plays one yard
game, two yard game, youhave to continue to try to knock up
in there because you don't want toturn these guys loose pass rush wise,
they are like us. They caneat a team up if you let them,
if you if you if you playfrom behind, they have the ability

(35:46):
to eat you up like the Cowboysdoes. So it is about Dak being
able to move around. Bootlegs,UH, rollouts, uh, all the
all the run ass options should bein effect and not not for Dak to
run necessarily to take off and runand less necessary. And because our offensive

(36:10):
line has not been healthy. Nowwe have Tyrone Smith. I tell people
right here, I'm about the businessof football right about now. You take
your feelings and you set them somewhereelse. Tyrone either got to get on
the pot or get off. Becausethis week we may have this week,
we may having that week. Heoff this day, and we need to

(36:34):
get some continuity. So you eitherput awesome Richards the backup, the third
team backup, or you put theother kids for more ego ego dogger.
You either put him in or youput the awesome reaching and you let him
work, because this back and forthit's not good as offensive line. You

(36:57):
know, get stable, because whatwe're getting ready to play a run of
teams that have great defenses, goodto great defenses, starting with this Eagle
team. You know, Rad,You've been wrapped up in baseball, but
this I get to feel like everybody'strying to down play this game. I

(37:19):
understand you have nine more games leftfor ten more games, but everybody's trying
to downplay this game. Don't downplaythis game. Don't let what happened against
the forty nine ers take the firefrom you, you know, and I'm
not It's just how I'm feeling. In the media, nobody wants to ask
this question, like how big isthis game? This game is big.

(37:40):
This game is big for us positioningyourself in the NFC East. This game
is big for positioning yourself in theNFC itself. Because now if you win,
now, like you said, youbecome even with that team, you
have a shot at the home fieldall the way through. But if you
lose to now, you fall backto the forty nine ers who have already

(38:05):
beaten you. Now you're in thirdplace. Now you playing every game on
the road. Now, people say, well, it's too early. No,
it's not. Not. With Detroitpushing themselves to the forefront. You
can't do that if it was justy'all three, okay, jockey. But
Detroit is not playing. Dan Campbell, baby Bill Calver is not playing.

(38:27):
He has got his guys playing ata physical high level. People are like,
oh, they got blowed out acouple of weeks ago. They don't
care. Dan Campbell don't care. He's a knockout puncher. He'll get up
off the turf. He'll be likeGeorge Forman, you rope a dope me,
Muhammad Ali, I'm getting up andI'm gonna come back and beat folks
when I'm eighty years old. Hedon't care. So Detroit lines, don't

(38:47):
you know, they got a differentmindset than the Cowboys. Ran I am
being serious, I am being seriouslyand just thank god that we came back
after that loss against forty nine ersat one two. That just shows you
the resiliency that we got, thatcoach McCarthy has, that Dan Quinn has
that that coaching staff has. Nowit's a fourteen race and each one of

(39:14):
these teams are fighting for that offweek, and only one in each division,
each conference get this off So thatis what the Cowboys should be looking
at. Because I try to tellpeople that I do shows with. I
don't know why people don't understand. You can talk super Bowl all you want,
but I remember just four weeks ago, six weeks ago, when the

(39:38):
Rangers didn't get home field advantage, how everybody just went into the dumps.
Because you take steps, you takeit is raw. When you have what
the Rangers did, that is rare. It is rare. What Cincinnati Bengals
did four years three years ago,it's rale. When you just picked yourself
off the ground and run through, run to the World Series, or run

(40:00):
to the super Bowl, that's that'srare. So when you have that rare
occurrence, don't think that's the norm. Things us to go back to the
norm where you take steps. Everybodyhoil the Super Bowl. You got to
win the first second round. Youain't want the second round. And I
don't know how many years, butyou're in position now if you don't take

(40:22):
advantage of this one game, nowyou two two and a half down.
Now you're you're looking Okay, youdon't want to keep your eye on them,
but now you forced to keep youreye on them. You got to
keep you out on the if theEagles beat us, now you got to
you know, the coaches may saying, oh, we'll concentrate, you know,
you got to keep you out onthem. And you got to look

(40:44):
at their schedule. And now itgives us more in the metroplex to talk
about. They're two down and thisis the schedule of the Eagles. When
you win this game, we don'thave to worry about the schedule of the
Eagles. They got to worry aboutus. Now we can talk about our
next opponent. And you know, and it ain't a little milmover to this
side. Yeah, you won threestate streight straight, but the Eagles haven't

(41:05):
lost any Yeah. Yeah, sowe got we need this game, is
what I'm trying to say. Yeah, so let me ask you a question,
Nate that that has occurred to mein part because of not using the
run game last week and this thismay be overreacting to that, but like
last off season, I you know, again, it's easy for me to

(41:28):
spend somebody else's money, Jerry Jonesmoney, whoever, right, But I
didn't want to see Zeke leave thisorganization because I felt like, you know,
he and Tony Pollard as a tandem, right, relieved each other just
enough that Zeke could you know,he had already transitioned into being a different
kind of back. He was thatbruiser man, that guy that would get

(41:51):
you the short yardage and so forth, and Tony could be that you know,
quick scat back, get out anddo anything he wanted. And I
was afraid if they got rid ofhim, because it ain't my money.
I know it would have cost alot of money on the cap and all
that, but not my money.I was afraid that what we're seeing right
now would happen, which is,and tell me if I'm wrong that maybe
Tony Pollard. It's just really it'sa different animal to be the only guy

(42:15):
to be the featured back and tonot have that guy there to relieve you,
as Zeke was to relieve Tony. That's one of the reasons he had
such a great year last year?Am I seeing that? Right or wrong?
I mean, I was sitting onshows for the Dallas Cowboys. I'm
like everybody, this is the problemI have with this here. Yes,

(42:37):
everybody is always talking about, Oh, you don't want to disrespect Zeke.
You don't want to. I lookedinto cameras like I'm looking now. I
said, you know what if I'mJerry mister Jones, a Steven mister Jones,
I'm like, Zeke, we loveyou, we paid you, we

(42:58):
need you, and here's three manmillion dollars, here's two million dollars,
and here's a bunch of bonuses.Don't leave this scene. Yeah, don't
go out there and find out thateverybody sees you the same way we see
you. That's what he did.He went to New England and they saw
him the same way we saw him. But everybody always I don't get it.

(43:20):
I don't get it. Now.I understand if you was raised up,
your mom and dad are millionaires, and you you know, you got
just three hundred million and three milliondollars to throw around you. You talking
about something where a kid comes fromnothing to making ten million dollars a year.
You actually him now to drop downa three million dollars and that's disrespect.

(43:42):
No, that's age of the game. And so I would I would
have told zick Man, I'd havechanged him up down in the attic somewhere
in the bottom of bru You stayingwith us, And see that is what
bothers me is everybody keep talking aboutdisrespect. I'm like these fans, but
then you don't what to disrespect.Zeke, Okay, you went and played
for New England. They disrespected.Come on back home with daddy, so

(44:04):
daddy can take care of you.You know what, well, we love
you here in Dallas. And sobruh spend their money, don't worry about
they smart. Uh. Christian Young'sdidn't care about spending some money. He's
been in better half daion dollars.Come on, man, yeah, yeah,
come on, yeah, we messedthat right and so yeah, and
I appreciate that you agree with meon that, because I just wonder if

(44:30):
the run game, especially now nowwe're in the tough half. We got
this kid, rico' donald and that'sthe other thing that's at least see what
we got there, you know, yes, get a ball to rico'donald man
and let and let Tony be whoThis is what I tell people. When
you got something and it is special, and it is special the way it

(44:51):
is, why are you finish change? Yeah, when you have a special
player and he is special in whathe does, and I would saying,
hey, man, we're gonna we'regonna just change who you are. Why
would you do that? And yougave him ten million dollars to change him
and not to enhance him. Idon't like that move. I try to

(45:14):
tell him from the beginning of trainingcamp, you know, spring training,
as you baseball players, people said, I try to tell them the spring
training, let this kid Rico donarun the ball and then you know Tony.
Start Tony one series, then bringin ric o'donald two series, bang
him up in there, then bringTony in for a change up. Some

(45:34):
people are closers, man, don'tchange who they are, right yeah,
yeah, And that's that's the otherthing. This Texas Coast offense that occurs
to me is so much more dynamic. If you've got that constant run threat.
Yes, yes, but you gottahave that threat. And right now
it doesn't appear that they it doesn'teven appear that they're trying to use it

(45:55):
as a threat much less is ita threat. They're gonna have to do
it this week. And like Isay, as long as you don't have
people like well, what if you'regaining one or two yards, it's making
the defensive line pay attention. Aslong as you don't have them hits in
the backfield, you know, aslong as you get at one, two,
maybe three yards, because I promiseyou it's better to be second and
seven, then second and fifteen. You drop back and they sacked that because

(46:22):
all you want to do is passball. Now you got third and twenty because
now your office line and jumped offside a hole in somebody run that ball.
Don't have any negative plays. Ifyou run that ball, that's thirty
times or twenty five times, andyou don't get but ninety nine yards or
one hundred yards. As long asthey got positive yards one yard, you

(46:44):
can keep them at bay. Andnow you can attack this secondary. All
right, I'm losing my voice.I'm screaming too much. Okay, all
right, you're too excited, man, Well do it again next week.
It's been so much fun. Nate. I think you make great points about
the Cowboys. Talk a lot morefootball next week, and we'll get into

(47:05):
the Mavericks. We gotta start watchingthose Mavericks. Yes, let's do it.
Let's do it. Thank you,Niagara
