This has been an amazing season.I don't ever remember any turmoil this
much other than my last girlfriend incovering the Steelers ever. Oh, sure,
you deal with injuries, you dealwith ab going crazy on occasion,

you deal with Bubby Brister. Butthis was unlike anything anybody's ever seen.
Somehow throughout this well, I've describedit this way, and I described it
to Mike mcmahonnor co host. It'slike watching the guy fight off a great

white shark. Okay, shark getsa bite on the guy, and if
the guy has any tenacity to fightback, he's gonna fight with the shark.
Shark tags another bite. The Guy'slike, I'm not going down getting
eaten by a shark in the AlleghenyRiver. How he got here, I
don't know, but I'm not goinginto the Alleghany or the Monongahler or the
Ohio. And the guy fights theshark, the great white shark that somehow

got into the three rivers. Butin the end, you know what's gonna
happen, and it ain't with theshark being filayed in a nice tuna sized
steaks and having a party with somebaked potatoes, crabs and some corn over
at the house. No, theshark wins. I mean, sure,

the Steelers could stumble into the SuperBowl ass backwards, and I will never
say another bad thing about Mike Tomlinif that happens. Looking at some of
these stats this year, offensively,you know they got their opponents had three

hundred and eleven first downs. Yougot to make first downs to stay in
a game. You got to TheSteelers only have two hundred and eighty seven,
you know, probably the most importantstat offensively, and if you know
football, you understand this stat.These third down conversions. It keeps you

in the game, It keeps youheadhunting, It gets you closer to a
little thing we call the goal line, the end zone. Third down can
versions your opponents this year ninety oneon two hundred and thirty three attempts,
Your Steelers eighty five out of twohundred and thirty two attempts. Now,

remember we played a lot of bumsthis year. That number should be amazingly
higher with all the offensive power wehave, but it's not. If you
don't have third down conversions, youdon't win conferences, you don't win football
games, you don't win Super Bowls. Total offensive yards by our opponents this

year eight hundred and sixteen. Again, your Steelers, with all their offensive
power, their total yards five onehundred and seventy three steams should have been

is if Matt Canada is not runningjet sweeps and trying to get Naugy to
the outside for half the season andleaving Jalen Moren on the bench because he

this Steeler's total offensive yards, Imean rushing yards is closer to three thousand,
with both of the backs going overa thousand. But I'm not gonna
complain too much because like the manfighting the shark yoh, Pittsburgh Steelers are

still alive as we go into wildcard weekend. All right, so the
big match up up in Buffalo thisweekend. The former NFL quarter back,
my partner in crime, Mike McMahonand I got together down by the stadium
as the Steelers practiced inside this weekMan, it was cold, the wind
was howling, just like it's gonnabe in Buffy Low. So Mike and

I talked a little bit about theSteelers offense, Steelers defense. So I'm
gonna throw it to that conversation.And if you saw us down by the
river, I was the one withthe blue Ears and head Steelers station.

It's which one of my I'm Tank, he's Mike. Guess he's Mike Terrible
tow for that super Bowl in Tampa. It's been too long since we're going
to a super Bowl. How areyou getting to Vegas? I'm getting Vegas
already, pot my airline ticket ona elite Am I getting ahead of myself?
Yeah? Wow? All right?Well, one game at a time
because it has bit us in thepast, overlooking the Jacksonville Kittycats who came

over here and ran over us,the Cleveland clowns, overlooking them, Steelers
Nation. One game at a timegets us to Vegas for the super Bowl.
Mike, I know this is gonnasound nuts. Everybody's like, Okay,
great, we're going to playoffs.Oh no, we're doomed. Uh
huh. If this offense can gettogether, I think they go into Buffalo

and they pull off an upset.I'll tell you why, what say you?
I'm not so as nobody is.I'm the only one. As Courso
would say, not so fast,my friend, I'm not sure about that.
Main reason, No, TJ Wallit's a big, huge loss not
to have TJ let me go throughthis offensively and defensively quickly. Why I'm

optimistic in this first round one gameat a time offensively, Mike. Since
the beginning of the year, I'vesaid, and look, this whole season
has been like watching a guy swimwith great white sharks and he fights him
off, takes a bite. Inthe end. You know he's gonna get
eaten by the shark, but it'sbrilliant to watch him fight the sharks off.

This offensive skill unit between Nogy,between Jalen, between your emerging wide
receiver corps, and of course PatFriarmouth, who's been underutilized all season long.
I know he was injured. Ifyou took these skill players and gave
him to the San Francisco forty nineers and Brock Party, how productive would

that offense be. I don't know. I don't think it would be necessarily
Rock Party. I think you wouldprobably need Kyle Shanahan to go along with
them. I get, but that'swhat I'm saying. So they have the
potential. They've got a lot ofskill positions. The thing that you know
is scary is you know some ofthe comments made by the receivers the past

few weeks, even though they didget some wins. That's not the sign
that you want to see from ateam. However, they were able to
rally around it and make things happen. Jaalen Warren was the bigger person.
All of a sudden, he hada chance to make a block to spring
a touchdown and he goes in anddoes it, and that kind of helped
lift that team and start playing foreach other a little bit. But what's

gonna happen if the stuff hits thefan on the sideline is it? Are
the receivers gonna rally behind the teamand be selfless and make the selfless plays
or are they gonna go back totheir ways and do that? So that's
there is a there's a small littlecancer. Can they get around it?

That's what my worry is right there? Yeah, and we all should be
worried. Do you know the threegame dump against the bums of the NFL,
and look, don't get so excitedabout beating the twenty eighth ranks defense
in the NFL. However, withall that set, it is a reset
button as we go into the wellBuffalo Chicken Wing Eaters Stadium up there in

Buffalo, can this team coalesce Canthey get focused? Can they be what
they potentially can be as an offensiveunit, a mature offensive line, a
mature wide receiving group, your greatrunning backs, and now you have a
quarterback who has emerged in Mason Rudolph. Look, a lot has to go

right up in Buffalo offensively. Butwhat I am saying is I am unimpressed
by the Bills defense, especially theirlinebackers. If you attacked their linebackers.
If you had two great running backs, which would we do? You attack
the linebackers. If you have agood tight end, you attack the linebackers.

Mike, you played at the highestlevel. If you can take care
of the ball on the ground andattack the linebackers, what does it open
up the play action pass? However? You know will they be able to
do that? You know that's thething, and it's it's gonna be more.
They're gonna need the defense to stepup. No. TJ. Watt
is a big, big loss forthe Pittsburgh Steelers. Is he is is

the defensive MVP last year, heis the team MVP. He's Superman.
He's stopped from this player tact.So him being on the field helped open
things for other players. Is theregonna be a guy that's gonna be able
to step up, But they gonnabild find pressure. Can they get pressure
on Josh Allen and force Josh Allento make those turnovers? We know he
will do that, He's done itin the last and stalking however, yeah,

he will force the ball at times. However, sometimes he will make
some great throws. I look atit this way. The Steelers are running
the football better, but the Billsare playing better too. They rattled off
five wins to get in since they'rebye week. They beat the Chiefs,
they beat the Cowboys. Stuff they'rerunning attack. They beat the Chargers,
they beat the Patriots. Stuff thatrunning attack. When they finally got Zeke

going a little bit, and thenthey just beat the Dolphins, and the
Dolphins have a great running attack aswell. So can the Steelers establish a
line of scrimmage and get the runthey're gonna trut? The Bills are explosive
offensively. Can they shorten the game? That's the thing? They can the
Steelers possess the football, control theclock, control the time of possession,

keep Josh Allen off the field onthe sideline. Then they have a chance.
But it's gonna be tough. Imean, it's a tall task.
I do like how Mason Rudolph's playing. I remember when we first came in
and you and I first started talking. I remember I said, I like
Mason Rudolph. I like how theball comes out of his hands. I
like this. I like that hegets it out quick. But then he

got a chance to play. Itgot to start and everyone starts saying,
Oh, get Rudolph out of here. Do this, he's not that good.
This and that. We got toget a new guy. Both put
Dobbs in. Look, there's areason why quarterbacks typically have better success or
more success later in their careers.You look at Patrick Mahomes. He at

least sat out a year behind AlexSmith. Aaron Rodgers sat a couple of
years behind Brett farre There is benefitto sitting Jordan Love behind Aaron Rodgers.
But you go even further. MasonRudolph had a chance to play early in
his career because of some injuries,and he struggled a little bit, almost

got released at one point. Yeah, nobody wanted him, wanted it,
But then he stayed to the process. He kept his mouth shut. He
went to work every single day.He tried to get better, and when
his opportunity came back, he wasable to take advantage of it. And
there's a lot that can be saidwhen you're on the sideline as a quarterback,
where you're at practice, standing fifteentwenty yards behind the play from where

the quarterback viewing things how he'd usedit. It takes time for that mind
to develop. Steve Young is notSteve Young if he doesn't get cut by
the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and then goesand sits behind Joe Montana for a little
while. He had to sit behindstarted in Tampa, had to sit behind
Joe Montana and San Franz. Thenwhen it was his time, he was
able to take off running. SoI do think there is a little bit

of a benefit for playing early,coming out, sitting, slowing the game
back down. Hey, now here'smy second chance. I think that could
help. Can he Pickett as well? Everyone wants pick it going, Give
him a chance, let him sitand develop. I wouldn't rush it,
but I think Mason Rudolph is goodenough to win a playoff game. The

key is is can they keep Buffalooff the field and keep that or have
Buffalo turn the bowl over and keepthem out of the answer. All right,
Steelers Station, we're all gonna findout this weekend. That's a taking
a look at well our offense ifthey hit full stride and a little bit
stumbling by the Bills straight down themiddle. It went straight down the middle.

Then it started to look just weweep it. That's when mcady lost
side of it. That little whitepellet has never been found to this day.

week talking about the defense, whatthey've got to do to beat the Bills
without TJ, and again some offensivetalk. So let's take it down to
a cold and windy Wednesday afternoon.It was amazing how many people went by

and they're like, go Steelers,Like yeah, absolutely. I was waving
my terrible tale. And of courseyou got the one idiot from Buffalo and
went by and sheepless Lee went goBills, Go Bills, and I go
get out of here if I throwyou in the river. He looked at
me kind of funny. Little didhe know I wasn't joking. All right,

let's go back down to the ThreeRivers, the point where the quarterback
Mike McMahon and myself talked about thismatchup with the Bills and how your Steelers
are gonna be eat that chicken Eaters. Final score twenty one. The Buffalo

Chicken Wings come up short with onlythirteen points. That's a bull protection helious

I got my Super Bowl in Tampaterrible tell out where James Harrison the

the guy beside me. It wasincredible. That guy walking by me,
he agrees. It was a wonderful. It was great. The defense is
coming out the buffalo. I knowwe're without Superman TJ. Watt this weekend,

this is how I want to lookat this thing. Okay, I
want to start with your well safeties. Caz the human torpedo is back.
Does he have something to prove thisweek? Minka. Fitzpatrick when he's healthy,
is one of the best in theleague. They can shut down that
long ball threat of Allen and Diggs. Now when it comes to Stepan Diggs,

you know this, he's one ofthe best in the league. Right,
Well, you got stuff one Digs. He's more of the route runner.
He's the in and out route run. He's not necessarily the long ball
guys so much. You're looking atGabe Davis or Isai Mackenzie. You know
they've got a couple. They've gotkink too at tight end. You know,
they've got some pieces over there,so they've got a lot of weapons.
But the key that's really been goodfor Buffalo lately is cook in the

running game. They've got the runninggame going, so that's that's the key.
If you take care of him now, you're going to force Alan to
throw the ball more. And that'swhere he's either going to be stellar or
he's gonna employ and throw the ballup for grabs. So it's getting him
uncomfortable, keeping him not necessarily,you know, you don't keep him in

the pocket. You know, likehe runs, man, he likes to
run. But if you can keepguys around him and contain him, Okay,
if he gets outside, if hegets outside and he can fully like
get outside the pocket and see thefield clear, you're in trouble. But
if you can kind of contain himout there and he can't have that option
to run, he will force thefootball into coverage. Mike's talking about making

Allen uncomfortable. This is what Ithink can happen under the perfect situation.
Unbelievable what's happened with his linebacking corpsthis year. They all keep going down.
However, you've got some pretty goodB level players. I love Roberts,
the hard Peg out of Wisconsin.I love too. If they can

play a better than average game,you've got a defense line. Some people
are saying this may be Cam Hayward'slast swan song of a season. You
know he's gonna come full well MontaviusAdams, all right, it's gotta be
the best possible game. This defenseCam play to take pressure off of the

offense. Our offense. Joey Portersix years from now, mark my words,
is gonna be a perennial Pro Bowlplayer. This kid steps up to
the heat. It's like chili.You throw some heat there and the guy's
like, make it hotter, Irun hotter Chili. That's Joey Porter,
Baby. I see him locking downDix this week, just for the fact

that he wants to do it.I don't know. That's a tough one.
Now, benefit to him again.Playoff officials allow the defense to get
a little bit more aggressive, alittle bit more handsy. That plays into
Porter's favor. However, Diggs isa shifty one, so that's gonna match

up a bunch, all right.The wind is howling here in the Three
Rivers. Today, the Steelers areactually in the stadium practicing right now,
and the wind will be a factorin Buffalo. The old Tanker sees the
double headed Ti Hydra, old NajieHarris there and a Jalen Moore and taking
over the ground game. I seethe Steelers offensive line finally having a great

game. I see Mason Rudolph throwingsome darts when he has to final score
twenty one. The Buffalo Chicken Wingscome up short with only thirteen points.

that you know is scary is youknow some of the comments made by the

receivers the past few weeks, eventhough they did get some wins, that's
not the sign that you want tosee from a team. However, they
were able to rally around it andmake things happen. Jaalen Warren was the
bigger person. All of a sudden, he had a chance to make a

that kind of helped lift that teamand start playing for each other a little

of here, do this, he'snot that good this and that. We
got to get a new guy.Both put Dobbs in. Look, there's
a reason why quarterbacks typically have bettersuccess or more success later in their careers.
You look at Patrick Mahomes, heat least sat out a year behind

Alex Smith. Aaron Rodgers sat acouple of years behind Brett farre There is
benefit to sitting Jordan Love behind AaronRodgers. But you go even further.
Mason Rudolph had a chance to playearly in his career because of some injuries,
and he struggled a little bit,almost got released at one point.

Yeah, nobody wanted him. Nobodywanted it. But then he stayed to
the process. He kept his mouthshut, he went to work every single
day, he tried to get better, and when his opportunity came back,
he was able to take advantage ofit. And there's a lot that can
be said when you're on the sidelineas a quarterback, where you're at practice
standing fifteen twenty yards behind the play, where the quarterback viewing things how he'd

used it. It takes time forthat mind to develop. Steve Young is
not Steve Young if he doesn't getcut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and then
goes and sits behind Joe Montana fora little while. He had to sit
behind started in Tampa, had tosit behind Joe Montana and San Franz.
Then when it was his time,he was able to take off running.
So I do think there is alittle bit of a benefit for playing early,
