Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's time for the Top four four with Levac and guz.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Have with the four bigger stores in the World of Sports,
brouting by Mohawk Kanda, where they always go out of
their way to please you gos.
Speaker 3 (00:13):
What's the fourth biggest story?
Speaker 1 (00:15):
Sometimes I wonder if we should always do it like that,
like the old Wide World of Sports intron ist.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
Wow, that's just d.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
I don't know if you've noticed, but as aman Zaine
Rise celebrating upside down right on his head, he is
like a pinball upside down.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
WHOA look at him. He's very impressive. I know why
that's in my mind. I know it's been post election day.
There was a moment yesterday where I came back to
the station. I'm not even kidding when I say this.
I pulled it in the station. I thought, I wonder
how they covered the eyes and how our election well,
I mean, it's been around for one hundred years, Like
what was it like when they covered ike?
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Oh see, I man, I misinterpreted what you're saying. You're
just talking about the age of it. I was thinking,
like like and stuff like that, like when's the last
time we had this kind of controversy? I mean, there's
never been anything like this exactly. But like Nixon must
that must have been a crazy time.
Speaker 3 (01:11):
Am I right?
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Like, we'll move on from Richard Nixon, Abe Lincoln, right,
Am I right?
Speaker 3 (01:16):
He had some he had some thoughts people didn't like.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
From Richard Nixon to Abe Lincoln to Deshaun Watson. No
transition here. Browns General manager Andrew Berry, who, by the way,
I know last year I set how great of a
GM he was because he looked like a great GM.
They were all like like third string.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
I forgot you said that. You could have pretend you
never said that.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
No, let's pile on here for a second, because as
much as I've been praised with my pick about the
Commanders and SMU and SMU, there is one really, really
bad pick from the preview show this year. I thought
the Browns that have the best record of the AFC.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Yeah, I faded the Browns. I didn't fait him as much.
Said the Bengals.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
Made sense with Watson coming back. Anyways, The general manager
Andrew Berry was non committaled today when I asked about
the Shawn Watson standing with a franchise. The quarterback struggled
this season quote, really our focus with the Shawn, I
would say for any player season and the injury major
injuries first and foremost, to make sure that he gets
healthy from the Achilles injury. Everything else we'll deal with
at a later moment. To react to this, is that
(02:21):
a big deal? How he come off that? First? What
do you make of Barry's commis? Do you think it's
a big deal that he was non committaled today?
Speaker 3 (02:28):
I love it. I think it well. I think it's
a big deal in a good way.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
Like even if you do know that you have to
move forward with him because of the contract, you've been
uber supportive and it's yielded nothing, So why not why
not throw a little warning shot across the bow? Hey,
you may or may not be here thinking if I'm
the Shawn Watson and I really don't care, which it
(02:51):
looks like that's the case with him.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
You're gonna pay me no matter what.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
There have been probably ten like hime All Star, All
Pro athletes across team sports over the last twenty years
that I can say that some fans actually hated, like
not hated their play because it goes with it. But
I will never root for this person because of whatever
(03:18):
it's coming off right off the political take right, Deshaun
Watson's on that list, like Cleveland fan hates that guy
because of a lot of stuff that's went on off
the field and how bad he's been on the field
this season, how much money he's taken away from the team.
That question alone. They're not asking about how he's feeling,
how he's rehabbing. I'm sure it was a long press conference. No, no,
The quote is what are you gonna do with this guy?
(03:39):
Because we don't really care if he's hurt or not.
We don't really care if he recovers. Hate is flowing
through Brown fan. It's not a big deal. Today was
noncommittal because he's not gonna get up there and feed
the hate and say, yeah, he's done twenty twenty six
Sean Watson. What's gonna happen is Watson will be off
for the rest of this season, sit for a lot
of twenty twenty five, and then twenty twenty six hold
(04:01):
roll around. Truly a remarkable career to study, from suspensions
to a self and posed suspension to an injury. I'm
not a huge Doug Gottlieb fan. I know he was
sweating his pits off and his coaching debut. I actually
give him credit for doing his show. Then the coaching
thing with a I think it's Green Bay, Wisconsin or
(04:23):
they played at Oklahoma State. The Shakespearean like fall of
Deshaun Watson's no big issues with me with Andrew Berry's
comments there. Let's move on to a story number three. I
feel like levk we wanted to do this in about
ten or fifteens because there's a lot to this. I
missed this in the top four to four yesterday the
college football playoff rankings are out.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
I want to die they Where are they? What do
you mean? Like?
Speaker 2 (04:46):
I keep reading stories about them, They're like Santa, I
hear about them all the time, but I haven't No
one's been able to provide me with a straight list
or just a bracket. It's like everybody's going to give
me their take on it, but I haven't seen them topegut.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
Out the brack. You know what, I didn't think I
was gonna go this way for this question? Do you
think this actually could have a March Madness like impact?
Like when I hear the word.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
When I hear the words what January madness?
Speaker 1 (05:09):
Yeah, Like I when I hear the word bracket, I
think of March Men's I think of the men's basketball
NC Double A tournament. Gambling wagering. The bracket is just
as exciting for people to be invested in the nc
Double A tournament because everyone does bracket challenges and pools,
and we'll bring back our Fox Sports twenty twenty five
to one, hopefully thanks to rivers can see it on
a resort in a few months. Do you think we'll
(05:30):
see like college football brackets and wagers getting involved like that?
Could could there be some type of challenge like that?
Do you think that actually could have legs on it,
like the NCUAA Men's basketball tournament.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
I mean, I just I think it's more Football's good football,
the immediacy of it, the playoff factor. I mean, basically,
it's gonna be very similar to the NFL playoffs, right,
playoffs like and we love that. So yeah, I don't,
I don't know if it'll be I don't. I don't
think anything can create the magic of the classes sixty
(06:02):
sixty nine six, nineteen sixty eight, sixty four.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
It's the one hundred and fifty sixty eight.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
But you've said no one counts in that first four
play in.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
You're not gonna pack it for the bracket. Yeah, yeah,
so sixty four that's just magical. People who don't care
about college basketball live for the brackets, So I don't
think it'll be there, but who knows. I don't think
football needs that though either. College basketball needed that. College
football needed legalized wagering. That's all it needed.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
I love March Madness. It is my favorite sporting event,
and I know it's it's an overall tournament, so it's
not like an isolated event like a super Bowl or
a big fight. I wonder if my answer is gonna
change this December and January. I wonder if this can
actually be more exciting in the NC double.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
After everything we've been through in the last twenty four hours,
I would like to start.
Speaker 3 (06:51):
Can we do March moodiness? Just? Can we tone it
down a little? We just can we just tone it
down a little?
Speaker 1 (06:58):
Let's move on a story number two. The NBA action
tonight excluding the New York teams. That might be a
clue for story number one. Pistons and Hornets, magic and pacers.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
We really punched that. What happened there?
Speaker 1 (07:10):
Gosh good, what happened there hopefully radio professors who aren't
listening if those still exist, WHOA let me a fine shark?
Good gosh, delete that from the podcast.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
Thunder, Nuggets, Heat, Suns, Sixers, Clippers, Raptors, Kings local connection
there at the end. A few storylines to look out for.
The Sixers star Joellen Bid suspended for multiple games, three
games because of shoving the reporter and the locker. We
covered a lot of that tomorrow, but they're on the
road against the Clippers again tonight. Thunder and Nuggets. You
(07:41):
wonder if that's a bettle between the top teams and
the Western Conference. We'll sit on this game though. Warriors
Celtics well back for a time. The way every time
these teams faced off, it felt like it could be
an NBA Finals preview. Are these franchises now heading in
opposite directions? Despite Golden state six and one a record?
Does it feel like Boston's the new Golden State of
(08:03):
the NBA? You hated that question so much. Just a
Tommy hot take that was right in the wheelhouse. That
was that was like a picture come out of the bullpen.
Thrown some meat with that one.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
It's like, it's like, guys, like walking me into a
room full of people and going.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
So who did you vote for? I guess the only way.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
I probably be more uncomfortable than the I mean, Boston
is the most talent ted in basketball right now? They are,
But I don't know, like I think, will they have
the longevity that the if you mean, who's the best
thing in basketball right now? Is Boston taking the mantle over?
Speaker 3 (08:42):
Yes? Will they have the staying power that Golden State had?
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
I don't know if anybody can. It was Steph Curry
was such a different.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
Player, revolutionized a sport best what Golden State did. Are
they the modern time version of Golden State?
Speaker 3 (08:59):
Yes, that's what's happening with you.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
You like the first syllable every word is getting drawn outs, going.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
Wrong with the smile?
Speaker 3 (09:06):
Are you okay?
Speaker 1 (09:07):
Is this alling wrong with the computer? I know there's
like some computer stuff going on over here.
Speaker 3 (09:11):
It's like you're having trouble starting up? Can you hear me?
Speaker 1 (09:19):
Is it the microphone? Gosh, man, I gotta get some resk.
Speaker 3 (09:23):
I don't want to.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
I don't think I want to content except for like
the way you said piss tons, Like that was the
one that got me if you're.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
Listening on the radio side, I assume that's not gonna
happen on the podcast side. But if I'm like, I'm
delayed in your car right now, please let me know.
Five might be a little behind.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
That could be.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
I would believe that.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
It was like when I when you first started doing it,
I thought you were doing it for a fact, like
just a really like hammer home your point. But it
was just funny because, like you said, the first one
it was was the pistons, and it was like piss tons,
Like I was like, what are you killing?
Speaker 1 (10:00):
I need to know if it's just a levak. I
know the first one popped and now like every word,
at every syllable, I say, I wonder if it's like
something's wrong. I hear it, levak, you's chopping over there?
What's going on with it?
Speaker 2 (10:11):
To that?
Speaker 3 (10:11):
Mike?
Speaker 2 (10:11):
This is why we were meant to work together, because
if you, if you work with, live with, talk to
somebody long enough, like something about their speech is gonna
catch you and it's either gonna make you angry or
gonna laugh at it. We laugh at each other, so
it's all right, Like becaues like your wife's just.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
Like, why are you dragging the first syllable?
Speaker 1 (10:28):
Why I wiped this question? Why I breathed? Sometimes I
constant in and out. It's still annoying. You called me today.
We had a thirty nine week check up today. Everything
was great. I started asking questions and then she started
getting annoyed with me.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
Am I, yeah, but it's not you, it's not you,
it's not you. Well, here's the deal. You want to know,
you want to know. The funny thing, if you didn't ask,
she would have got off the phone, called over her
sisters and be like he cared asked a question.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
You know, hold on, do you know why? Though I
know why you do? I should have kept that to myself.
Speaker 3 (11:05):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
I mean, if vet'ing here helps, I'm just thinking maybe
not to what do you think?
Speaker 3 (11:10):
What do you But it's our What are our ratings?
Speaker 2 (11:12):
Like? What do we have like twenty to thirty thousand
people to stending in any given moment? Yes, yeah, maybe
not for twenty thousand people who may run into your wife,
But you know, I get it. If you need to vet,
it's good to bet, it's good, it's good to be.
Speaker 1 (11:25):
There's that tweet. I set out the other day about
me complaining to my wife about being pregnant, and it's
me getting dunked on, like Mark fuse Kid and our
guy Peter just run underneath. I agree with Jordan. I
didn't even need to know to take it. Didn't even
matter right on your side, like you really that's true though,
like right now, like no, I don't care if there's
(11:50):
like a long standing feud over leaving cabinet doors open,
if she leaves them open open the rest of them.
I can't even tell you what it was, but I
had this conversation earlier this week. I'm like, do you
want to know what I think about this? And she
said no, I don't. You got all day to give
your opinions. Gosh, that was such a great comeback. I'm done.
I'm getting smoked right now. I gotta walk out of
the room. I won't walk out of the segment though.
(12:12):
Story number one Nix Hawks seven thirty tip off tonight.
We'll see if we see some action on this game.
Blow back. I'm six and one this season on the
NBA six and one. I missed that. I missed that
Spurs Clippers plant. I'm still kicking myself about I know
I should have gone the opposite away. I bet on
a game where they didn't have a head coach on
the sidelines. That's a bad play by me. NIX Hawks tonight?
(12:33):
Are you excited? Will you be locked in? How are
you feeling about NIX Hawks today? Here for story number one?
Speaker 3 (12:38):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (12:39):
Trey Young? Is he still I like the storyline better?
Speaker 3 (12:41):
Sorry?
Speaker 1 (12:41):
I cut you off.
Speaker 3 (12:42):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (12:42):
Do you think Trey Young is still hated by New
York fans?
Speaker 3 (12:45):
Uh? Not Yeah, but not as much.
Speaker 2 (12:47):
I you know why, I think I've I've softened on
Trey Young because you guys have the same hair.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
It's not nice. I think my hair is better than
Trey Young's hair is not.
Speaker 3 (12:58):
By a lot, though.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
I found I found the pictures from Vegas after we
shaved your head, and I took one of the least
flattering pictures of you of all time, and I deleted it.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
It's on my phone. Don't worry.
Speaker 3 (13:10):
I deleted it, though, so you're the only one who
has it now.
Speaker 2 (13:12):
I was tempted to send it into a couple of
chat groups that we're in, and I went, you know what, well,
Tommy boys going through a lot right now, I'm gon.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
Leave alone, keep it for a later day. Just deleted it.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
I was in a vulnerable position at that point, Levac.
Speaker 3 (13:27):
Now, I haven't emptied my deleted photos yet.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
But I'm sure there's some photos from Miami in there that.
Speaker 3 (13:34):
Oh no, I dude, I remember, I was. I was
low key in Miami.
Speaker 2 (13:37):
You were, You were out there, shots, shot shots everybody.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
I would say for New York that means the top
foard to four, it went well and the music stops.
I would say Tyrese Halliburton pass past Trey Young for
the most despised New York basketball playing non New York athlete.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
Do people play for the I believe they're called the Celtics, Yes,
hate them all.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
I wouldn't say you'd take Tatum and Brown or more
hated by New York fans than Halliburton.
Speaker 3 (14:05):
Brown. Everybody's Brown.
Speaker 1 (14:08):
Every I think Tyre's Halibert. When he went to the
w W NXT event Who's Getting Booty? He liked it,
And honestly, you know my take on him, he's an
absolute dork playing on the court. Actually enjoy him off
the court, but his style of playing dancing after making
one three after.
Speaker 2 (14:22):
He's he's got borrowed clout like. We hate him because
he's the second incarnation of Reggie Miller. That's why we
hate him. If they were no good tomorrow, we'd be like, whatever,
who cares about you? No matter what happens with the Celtics,
we hate them.
Speaker 1 (14:36):
Today is probably not the day to give us your
top five hated athletes. I think there's enough hate in
the country today that will pass on that for four though.
And it is in my mind.
Speaker 2 (14:47):
Why are we doing Mount Rushmore's buddy, What are you
trying to do to me? And you're adding, you're even
adding ahead? Did you are you putting Donald Trump on
the Rushmore?
Speaker 1 (14:54):
No, I'm not.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
Gods, this is such a Trump supporter. Do you say no,
so you didn't vote you hate Trump? I'm gonna use
there's no good answer. You're in trouble with half the
with half the state warrant the other.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
It's gonna be a mental warfare for the next two hours.
Every syllable licetining to this microphone I'm analyzing up here,
but I'm gonna get it again.
Speaker 2 (15:11):
If it wasn't if it wasn't the one it was,
I probably wouldn't have caught it.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
But that was hysterical. That was funny. All right, post election?
No civil war yet. That's good. That's the plus.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
It's your top four and four. Hey, you know we
can all agree on c dt A that they're great,
that they get us where we need to be, that
they've got over fifty routes connecting us to what matters.
It has to be because I've learned so much about
c DTA in the last couple of months. I got
stuck behind a bus that was like really busy the
(15:46):
other day going home, and I was like, look, you
you guys listened. They probably have no idea who I am,
but they listened. They were using the bus, they were
getting where they need to be. They had they went
to CDTA dot org. They went and they grabbed the
navigator app and they found the perfect way to commute
around the Capitol region.
Speaker 1 (16:03):
Fantastic.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
Everybody else is fighting about powers or evs or what
a gas or coal or whatever.
Speaker 3 (16:08):
Not. These people. These people are like, I don't care
the bus does it for me. I just I do
what I gotta do. I don't swipe your card, am
on my way. So if you're looking to get around
the Capitol region.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
You're looking to, you know, do something nice for the environment,
reduce your carbon footprint. How about little CDTA in your
life cdeta dot org, the navigator app CDTA connecting you
to what matters.
Speaker 3 (16:32):
These college football rankings please? I was so.
Speaker 2 (16:35):
Excited for them, but I just I really just want
to list one to twelve. If I could just get
a one to twelve list, please, without people's explanation on
why you know Ohio State has gas and that's why
they're there, just the one to twelve next, please, Fox
Sports Radio ninety five, nine, ninet eighty. All Right, so
we've reached that magical time where we can start arguing
(16:56):
about who are the top twelve teams in college football
for the playoffs and have it change each and every
single week. It's like it's like years before, but instead
of four, we're arguing about twelve teams.
Speaker 3 (17:07):
Are you excited?
Speaker 1 (17:09):
I loved this last night. I'm kicking myself a little
bit because this should have been a top four to
four story, but I didn't really know what the type
of impact would be. Would people care about this? Would
they be interested? You and I have gone through so
many of these different storylines of when it was the
College Football Playoff Committee the low hanging fruit, and maybe
we can even do it here again, Like, hey, it
feels like they're making these rankings just to tick people off. Oh,
(17:32):
it feels like they're making these rankings just to get
discussions with ESPN, the Four Letter Network and everybody else.
That's the reason they even put these things out. It
didn't feel as much like that yesterday. So everything that
came out, here are the rules, here the conference winners.
Here's what the bracket would look like. I wrote this
(17:53):
on Fox Sports, not even dot com, and I'll stick
by it. I really don't have much of a disagreement
with any of it. The most interesting storyline for me
is still Boise State and where they go. But I
thought it was a really good job by the committee.
And I love everything. The fact that we could get
games like Notre Dame versus Penn State, that we could
(18:15):
get games like Oregon Miami in a semi final potentially,
or Ohio State going to the I love all these games.
I love all the things that potentially could be on
the way for the bracket that we'd be looking at.
So I was all about it yesterday. I was impressed
more than I thought it could be possible with bracket
number one.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
The only thing you want to know this is the
weirdest thing for me.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
The hardest thing for me is the no one seems
to want to just give me a.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
List of one to twelve. Everyone wants to put in
the bracket.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
They want to put the actual like top twenty five
with where the team would be seated if the playoffs
came out today. It's like, I just want to list
one to twelve.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
I've got one to twelve if you wanted, I did
find it, and I know what you're talking about. These
that have been shared across the internet or nowhere close
to this. Here's the one through twelve college football playoff
rankings according to the committee for the first release yesterday.
I'll go quickly Oregon, Ohio State, Georgia, Miami, Texas that's
the top five. Penn State, Tennessee, Indiana BYU, Notre Dame
(19:24):
that's the top ten. The final two teams Alabama, Boise State,
with SMU, Texas A and M and LSU on the outside.
Looking at. Why that's so confusing is because teams like
Boise State would be ranked as twelve, but they also
would be the twelfth team because they're the non conference
(19:44):
four champion. Schools like BYU and Miami would be the
automatic qualifier. Because how the bracket is set up, it's
the four highest ranked conference champions, and that's very important
to remember, the highest four ro rand conference champions. And
why I say that is because I lacked at this
notion a month ago. There is a snare that could
(20:07):
play out that if Boise State is the highest ranked
four conference champions, Boise State could get one of those
four top seeds if they pass the Big twelve, acc
SEC or Big Ten winner in the standings.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
Insane. I mean, it's just I somehow I feel like
they've made it more confusing to me than I ever
expected it to be.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
And maybe it's me. Maybe I'm just stupid. No, I mean,
I know, I feel like I know why you're confused.
Are you asking what is the benefit of giving a
conference champion a bye week?
Speaker 3 (20:45):
Or I kind of get that, But like.
Speaker 2 (20:50):
Again, I just give me the twelve teams that are in,
then show me the bracket and I can make sense
of it. Nobody wants to just do that. Everybody wants
to write down this is why this team is number one.
I don't care what you think, I'll think what I think.
Just show me the damn bracket. Show me the damn list.
Like I literally all day, I've been googling, you know, twelve,
(21:11):
the top four, and what they do is they send
you the the top twenty five with some kind of
like notation.
Speaker 3 (21:20):
The top twenty five doesn't mean jack squad.
Speaker 1 (21:22):
Anymore unless you ask big time big jay journalists like
Tim Reynolds, who always hypes up Shen. Tim Reynolds was
one of the loudest, most vocal people that they say,
see see the Associated Press top twenty five is look
their top twenty five. So bah and to that, I
(21:42):
would say, what happened to Army? Army's the top twenty
team in the AP top twenty five. Army is not
seen on the college football playoff rankings.
Speaker 2 (21:50):
All Right, all right, I finally found what I'm looking for.
Somebody will send it to me.
Speaker 3 (21:58):
Listen, I love I love the again.
Speaker 2 (22:05):
The top twenty five really means nothing now. The top
twelve is all that matters.
Speaker 1 (22:10):
Army did sneak in their team number twenty five. Okay,
they still feel like they got screwed, do you care
Army is interesting because if let's say, let's play this
out right, Let's say Boise State or Washington State lose,
there's a path that Army can get to the college
football playoff. That's kind of cool. I don't think it's
gonna happen. I do not think that will happen. No,
(22:31):
So I see what you're going with. This is like,
does twenty five, twenty three or nineteen matter in the
ranking right now in November fourth? No?
Speaker 2 (22:37):
Like, all right, so I'm a Michigan fan, I'm not
in the top twelve. I'm no longer like looking at
this as a Michigan fan. I'm looking at a college
football fan. So I know that I've got Oregon, Ohio State, Georgia, Miami, Texas,
Penn State, Tennessee, Indiana, but BYU, Notre Dame, Alabama, Boise State. Okay, cool,
all right, sweet, good new deal, let's go. And then
(23:01):
I love that you know, Oregon, Georgia, Miami BYU. Then
you know, even the BYU is way down they get
the buye I The top twenty five is like there
was a point where the top four made almost everybody
past six irrelevant. Like all right, if you want to
tell me he goes down to fifteen. Okay, great, but
(23:22):
still all that matters is getting in oh SMU ranked
number thirteen Committee's rankings. How about that Texas A and
MLSU ran at the top fifteen.
Speaker 1 (23:36):
I wanted to argue about SMU, SMU and Alabama is
the toughest one for me, and I know how much
bias is in this for me, for those who missed
it earlier in the week, for those who haven't heard
about this, I have a seven like parlay going at
plus twenty four thousand, three hundred and thirteen. That's right.
If I wagered one hundred dollars on this parlay, I'd
win twenty four thousand dollars. I did not wager that much.
Speaker 3 (23:59):
But it is.
Speaker 1 (24:00):
It would be significally the biggest wager to have my life.
It'd be more than five thousand dollars. And on this
first projection, six of the seven in the parlay are
on it. There is only one team that is not
on that parlay. That's SMU, who's at thirteen. So selfishly,
I would have loved SMU to be over Alabama. It
(24:21):
is hard for me to make an argument that the
Smustangs who barely beat Duke who lost to BYU, who
are tested early in the season. If they rolled out
and said, Okay, we're doing a play in game Alabama
versus SMU, who's gonna win, Alabama would be a ten
point favorite. They would be a ten point favorite over
at least if the games in Tuscaloosa might be closer
to fourteen. However, none of that matters. If SMU can
(24:46):
run the table and get to the ACC title game
and they have three games left, all three games they
will be favored in more than likely, and they'll face
off against Miami in the ACC title game.
Speaker 3 (24:55):
Really, all you.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
Need is for them to have a really big win
and then get pushed up into the twelve for a week.
Speaker 1 (25:03):
Here's what would be a great benefit for me I
don't believe this is how the committee will play the South, though.
What would be nice as if this is the LSU
Alabama games on the way this weekend, so one of
those teams could either Bama stay in their spot or
LSU could leap frog SMEU. You would think a team
who's right behind him would get the benefit of doubt,
but they're in a bye week this week, so there's
(25:25):
a chance LSU jumps SMU. You're exactly right. Is there
a scenario that plays out where a two loss SMU
team gets in? Probably not, But what if there are
two losses? Are two Miami and BYU. That's a pretty
good resume, right, Yeah, Indiana's interesting in this. Are you
gonna keep a one loss or undefeated Indiana team out? Well,
(25:46):
you can'tkeep them out undefeated because they did with the
Big Ten. But if they're only lost this season's to
Ohio State and their name was Michigan or Penn State
or Michigan State or any other blue blood in college football,
you're probably not keep an Indian out. However, the Hoosiers,
if they do lose the Ohio State, they could have
a breaking right of not having any single win against
(26:06):
a single opponent with any votes in the top twenty five,
not even to vote in the top twenty five. So
those are the interesting teams, Indiana, SMU, Boise State. That's
what I find really really interested in that top twenty five,
and Army, but armies further off than that.
Speaker 2 (26:25):
All right, but let's do let's let's do it. Actually,
I gotta I got the Indiana thing. I happen to
catch some of a cowherd today. I was out doing
some errands. But his term, he goes, you're gonna see
Indiana and it's gonna give you the illusion of inclusion.
Speaker 3 (26:45):
Yeah, and I was like, oh, that's a great say.
I love that.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
But here's but let's let's be realistic. Let's look at
this thing real quick. Forget your wager for a second,
forget your allegiance to accused or whoever else.
Speaker 3 (26:59):
If the first.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
Round is Tennessee versus Indiana, Ohio State, Boise State, Penn State,
Notre Dame, and Texas Bama, I'm okay with that. I'm
gonna enjoy that. The winner of Texas and Bama's gonna
get Miami. The winner of Penn State, Notre Dame is
gonna get Georgia, Ohio State, Boise State, Welcome to BYU.
Speaker 3 (27:24):
Tennessee.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
Indiana is gonna get Oregon. I mean, like, I'm okay
with that entire fight card. There is no prelim that
is that's all heavyweight battles.
Speaker 3 (27:37):
Baby.
Speaker 1 (27:37):
When that rolls out, when it's gonna be mid December
and maybe snow will come back to the Capitol region,
you might be using time off like in radio Land
that was like hey, right between like right during the holidays,
take as much time as you want off like back,
and I know that like called the fall book.
Speaker 3 (27:53):
Right.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
Maybe they'll give us some opportunities to air some games.
Probably not, but where gonna sit in back thinking why
did we never want this before? We're gonna be so
spoiled in December and January and we're gonna love it.
Those are all money matchups. I guess pun intended there
because of how much money this is actually gonna make.
But I want all of them. I want all of
those matchups. We're gonna get those now because of this playoff.
(28:16):
This is I mean, we're in for some fun. I
love the idea of this, like the home game too.
Can you imagine having a happy valley with ninety five
one hundred thousand people at a game like that? Can
you imagine if somehow Alabama gets back in this mix? Tennessee,
Tennessee's awesome. Tennessee's got a great fan base to have
that city impact. Or how about this idea, We'll do
the Boise State thing one more time. Imagine somehow, some
(28:38):
way Boise does become a top four ranked Conference champion.
You imagine like Ohio State going on the road in
the middle of December to Boise, Idaho on the blue
turf at being a great scene for college with the
Cinderella hosting a game on the blue turf for a
shot to go to the semifon in a national championship.
Speaker 2 (29:02):
I mean, it's so far, it's great. They're doing what
needs to be done. They're really doing and I can't
wait see how it changes and who gets in and
who gets out and all the fun stuff. But like
right now, I am a fan of the way this
has come together. That's all there is to it. I
wish Michigan didn't suck. That's about it.
Speaker 3 (29:23):
It's all I got.
Speaker 1 (29:24):
But one last thing on this Old Miss is playing
Georgia this week. And take this information for whatever you want,
but that line is very interesting involving the Bulldogs and
the Rebels. That's still sitting at two and a half.
It's a three point thirty kickoff on ABC in Oxford
there with the Grove. Georgia has one loss this season,
(29:48):
Ole Miss s two. I was offered a cash out
for that wager with Georgia on that wager. Since the
poll has come out. My cash out has gone down
on my cash out has gone down one hundred dollars,
and I wonder if it's because something's sneaky going on
with George Old Miss. Hmmmm, I don't like that.
Speaker 3 (30:12):
Wait, wait, you don't.
Speaker 1 (30:14):
Yeah, I don't know if I'm gonna have the cohonnas
to put money on Old Miss and hedge against myself.
But that would be the line of all the lines
this week. That numbers are showing me that M don't
feel so confident in the Bulldogs. If anything, I much
just bet them because I'm stubborn. But something's wrong with
that Old Miss Georgia game. God the stank is taught uslovak.
(30:40):
I should be smarter here and roll around at it
and take the rebels. I might be a You know what,
I promise you this Friday, play the day I'll make
a call on George Old Miss.
Speaker 2 (30:49):
I mean, you've already got me, You already got my attention.
I was just looking at the at the sheet and
I got coming up. You completely butchered his last name,
and I almost I'm glad.
Speaker 3 (31:03):
I looked. I was like, that's why I talked to you.
Speaker 1 (31:08):
What give me a break with his last and it's
been a long night. I've had a long night, but
it's been awesome part of an election coverage and everything else.
And then I didn't sleep a lot. I told you
yesterday is gonna be a double cea four day. Things
got in my way. I'm kicking myself. I didn't have
two C force the moment my little eyes sat up
and opened today and my body got up.
Speaker 3 (31:27):
I guess my body's not very little.
Speaker 1 (31:29):
I got that song is still Losso that song is
C four is what we love.
Speaker 3 (31:35):
Seaf eh, I get through the show. I was up too.
Speaker 1 (31:40):
That's a jolly Rancher flavor right there, very tasty. S
four is helping you give you the boost that you need.
Maybe you stayed up late last night. Maybe you're looking
for something different to give you the boot. Because it's
not just today. You're gonna be feeling a Thursday pan out.
Old Jerry might be feeling it Friday. Now's the time
to get a SEA four. A shout that Jess. By
the way, Jess, you could share this stuff on social media.
I got a wonderf message that said I stayed up
(32:01):
for the election. My friend Jess got a C four. Well,
I appreciate you sharing the message with Jess, But Jess,
you can give us the love as well. Shout out
to you doing all those things at Stewart Speedway and
all the great places.
Speaker 2 (32:12):
Yeah, I don't forget uh Speedway Independent Nobles. That's where
you can find the jolly Ranchers that's going on with
C four so which we appreciate you guys very very much.
Speaker 3 (32:21):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
Play of the Day coming up next right here Fox
Sports Radio ninety five nine and nine eighty.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
It's lovakan guzz on ninety five nine Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 3 (32:31):
Time for the Play of the Day, brought to you
by mag Chevrolet and get her. Let's drive it.
Speaker 2 (32:35):
Mark Chevy just off ectit twelve of the north Way
where they always bought it their.
Speaker 3 (32:39):
Way to please you.
Speaker 2 (32:41):
I had like my obviously I've been dealing with like
there's this like residual part of this cold that just
wouldn't flem. It's like attached to my vocal cords I'm swearing.
So I just like I was like, you know, I want
to get a hot cup of coffee in the way
it's gonna help. It's whatever, great cup of coffee. But
I think by loosening up the phlem. Sorry if you're
(33:04):
eating I'm it's actually I think it's made my voice worse.
Speaker 1 (33:09):
I can't tell. I have no idea your voice sucks
all the time it's been. It's been so consistently a
little bit more raspy than the usual. I've not lost
concept of Sure you are what you are?
Speaker 3 (33:20):
Hello, ladies.
Speaker 1 (33:22):
Over the course of the last month, Lavak's voice has
gone from raspy to regular to rasby.
Speaker 3 (33:27):
He's gone.
Speaker 1 (33:28):
You've been on a juice cleanse. You've been in and
out of studio. I don't even know who you are anymore.
Speaker 3 (33:32):
Bottle of gin.
Speaker 1 (33:35):
Yankees have won, they've lost, The Raiders have changed quarterbacks.
Have you lost your identity?
Speaker 3 (33:41):
Who are you? I have? I know we lost that yesterday.
That sucked. That was not good.
Speaker 1 (33:48):
No, I thought it'd be fun to fire off some maction.
Speaker 2 (33:50):
Yesterday it looked like we were in because we both
took the favorites on the road like idiots, and we
both lost by like a couple points.
Speaker 3 (33:57):
But like, I don't even know, are there is there
anything you can talk to you about?
Speaker 1 (34:00):
Yes? I have one play, and I had this play
about a week ago, and I didn't know how it
was going to play out. And I know we promised
earlier in the show we weren't going to talk about
the election. Hang On, just I did pretty good for
two hours.
Speaker 3 (34:15):
Hang On.
Speaker 1 (34:17):
I knew about a week and a half, two weeks
ago that no matter the result of the election, if
I had to pick one athlete, and I won't say
who it is yet, but if I had to pick
one athlete all four major professional sports that was going
to do a postgame press conference and talk about the
election and his thoughts on America following a game, who
would it be?
Speaker 3 (34:37):
Lebron.
Speaker 1 (34:38):
Didn't even have to think twice. The answer is Lebron James,
so anti Jordan. If you thought about that for a second,
more than a half second, you probably were thinking Lebron.
So if we all can agree that maybe the most
likely popular athlete that post election who's going to talk
about what happened is Lebron, let's believe it. Okay, whether Kamalawan,
(34:59):
whether Trump won, he was gonna say his piece on
the election. The Lakers play the Grizzlies tonight. The Lakers
are a two and a half point dog. You're telling
me that the most marketable athlete of a generation. Jordan's
the most marketable of all time, but of this generation.
He is gonna step up to the podium at midnight
(35:22):
and not say anything about the election. Do you think
Lebron James is gonna come off after a loss on
the road against the Grizzlies and then have the same
impact as if he had a big win over Memphis.
He is gonna talk about the election today. I would
be shocked if he doesn't. There will be a reporter,
you know what, I feel most confident in this. There
will be a reporter who might open with Lebron's thoughts
(35:45):
on the election. He's not stepping up to that thing
without winning that game tonight. He won't admit this, but
Lebron's taking tonight like a playoff game. He wants the
most impactful speech he's ever had in his life tonight
postgame with Memphis. Lock the baby in, give me the
Lakers plus two and a half, Give me the Lakers
money line tonight because Lebron will not lose this game
(36:08):
tonight because he's got some things he wants to say postgame.
Speaker 2 (36:12):
So you're taking You're taking the You're taking the Lakers
money line because Lebron's ego.
Speaker 1 (36:18):
Absolutely, there are few, if any regular season games that
Lebron James cares about anymore. Lebron James is gonna finish
his career the most postseason games ever played by any
American athlete, efver, I'm ready to stick by that. Multiple
NBA Finals appearances. He does not care about the regular season.
He will care tonight. He might go for you know what,
(36:40):
I'm gonna push this even further. Give me all the overs.
I'll go in blind over in points, over and rebounds,
over assists. I might do a gos Lebron political parlay
all of it on Lebron tonight. He takes this game
like it's game, like he's playing for the heat against
the Spurs tonight, and the off he gets a you
(37:01):
know what, he'll do. He'll take a few questions. He'll
do the political question and then walk off.
Speaker 2 (37:05):
No, No, he'll announce he's running in twenty twenty eight.
Speaker 3 (37:11):
And Broni's his VP. What do you think?
Speaker 1 (37:16):
I'm laughing? But at this moment, right now, I don't
think it's if we had to offer up odds of
who will be the Democratic nominee in twenty twenty eight
Lebron would be on the list. He's on the list.
He's gotta be the rock Cuban was that four years
ago people thought that'd be the nominee.
Speaker 3 (37:36):
Which I would have considered. I just want to be
clear all.
Speaker 1 (37:39):
Day Lakers tonight, I feel so confident that play can
I get? Can I find a book that can give
me over under three and a half minutes on Lebron
on the election? Post game? Then he the fish somebody?
Speaker 2 (37:54):
What would be the like, what would be the odds
of him announcing his candidacy.
Speaker 1 (38:02):
I think you're more likely see Lebron in the dunk
contest than run for president, at least announced in November
of twenty four.
Speaker 2 (38:10):
Well, we got killed yesterday. I guess I don't even
really have a play today because you hop on my
I'm gonna I'm gonna ride. I'm gonna ride, ride, but
I'm also gonna take the knicks. I'll lay the seven
in Atlanta. I feel like there, I feel like there's
gonna be a roller coaster. So if they gets if
they get smacked one game, they'll do the smack in
the next game, and vice versa. So so I'll i'll
(38:31):
I'll lay the seven with the Knicks. I'll lay the
touchdown with the Knicks. I'm I mean, I'm I'm already.
I'm trying to I'm looking for an angle for tomorrow.
That's been what I've been doing, trying to figure out
what the with the the Bengals and the Ravens, because like,
the Ravens should just annihilate the Bengals, but they don't win.
Speaker 3 (38:50):
The games are supposed to win. They you know what
I mean. So because the like listen, Joe Burrows is
playing like Joe Burrow.
Speaker 2 (38:58):
That line's okay. The defensive line is very good. They
just smoke the Raiders, but like they're not.
Speaker 3 (39:06):
Eh. I don't think there as good as the Ravens
were even close.
Speaker 1 (39:09):
We're a week ten now in the NFL. Believe we are.
You have to kick off tomorrow. This is the second
time I've done this in ten weeks for a Thursday
night football game. I'll tell you right now, pass you
can't pass.
Speaker 3 (39:19):
Pass.
Speaker 1 (39:21):
Here's why I'll give you my quick breakdown. I know
we'll do more tomorrow on that game, but my early
feel a day away from that game. The Amazon games
back to bank weeks have had stank give it to
me the vack stank stanky stanky lines back to bank weeks.
You had the Jets covering and beating the Houston Taxes
(39:41):
last Thursday. The week before that, we called it the
generational trap game between the Rams and the Vikings. So
I had back to back stanky trap lines on a
Thursday night. There's no way that's going three weeks in
a row. There's just no way that that line is
going to be far off or get people to bite
(40:02):
three weeks in a row. Joe Public's in a fall
four three times in a row on the same spot,
in the same game, on the same network. So right
now I lean towards a pass for that game, but
I could change my opinion. Just talkie numbers out loud
of what that windows meant so far this season.
Speaker 2 (40:18):
Less than a touchdown at home, six and a half
down to six a lot of places.
Speaker 1 (40:23):
Gosh, that's the exact number I would pass on. Your
take was right. We don't know what to do with Cincinnati.
Are they playing better as Baltimore better coached? On a
short week? Can Lamar Jackson cover At the end is
a six to six and a half game where ball
we did this, I believe we did this last week
with Baltimore. Baltimore, if they're up by fourteen and Cincinnati
(40:44):
scores late, do they go for two and blow up
everybody's bet hrather eight versus six with the analytics h
right now on a Wednesday evening, I feel like that's
a runaway game for me.
Speaker 3 (40:54):
Would you?
Speaker 2 (40:55):
Would you say style wise, the Ravens offense is most
similar to the Eagles offense right now?
Speaker 1 (41:06):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (41:08):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (41:08):
The reason I paused on that is I thought about Detroit.
Detroit's pretty close to but Goff. Goff is better mobility
wise in the pocket than people realize. But no, I
would lean towards Philly, but Detroit's much closer. In that conversation,
I think.
Speaker 3 (41:24):
Derek Henry both dominant backs in different ways.
Speaker 1 (41:26):
Sonicking knuckles there, Gibbs and Montgomery for them.
Speaker 2 (41:31):
Well, Eagles blacked them thirty seven to seventeen in Cincinnati.
Speaker 3 (41:38):
Yeah, and then and then the Raiders did their part.
Speaker 2 (41:43):
They let the Bengals just run themselves to exhaustion, scoring
forty one on them.
Speaker 1 (41:49):
Are are we surprised that Jamar Chase contract stuff is
just stalled. You didn't get a deal.
Speaker 3 (41:54):
I think here's a deal in place. I don't think
they announced it.
Speaker 1 (41:57):
I heard a story involving Whitworth and he's I really
like him. I like his coverage on Amazon.
Speaker 3 (42:02):
I know.
Speaker 1 (42:03):
I'm pretty positive he might do this in the pregame
to talk about his contract. Story that's gone viral recently.
Long story short. He went to the boss's office, went
to the ownership over the GM. Yeah, over the GM
over the VP went right in to believe it's Mike
Brown's office, and said, hey, man, here's the situation. I
want a new contract. I'm gonna be played as I can.
(42:25):
He said, okay. Then he said during the bye week
he retired and said, I'm good going home, not playing
football anymore. You guys appreciate it. I'm quitting week ten,
I'm out. And the owner gave him the new contract,
not the owner's kids, not anybody else. So I wonder
if Whitworth tells that story today about Jamar chasing, about
how much more difficult it, because that can have an
(42:46):
impact on this team. Like he's really good, he's played
really well, but you wonder how much of an effect
that's had on Burrow, who's been his college teammate.
Speaker 3 (42:53):
And that Bengal team.
Speaker 2 (42:55):
Also, is it weird that the Bengals and the Ravens
scored forty one points against an ANFC West team last week? Yeah,
I'm so oh yeah, let's gonna be like I said,
I'm I'm playing today because we have to do it, Nicks,
and I'm riding with you on the on the Lebron's
(43:16):
ego being enough to will them to a victory. But
I'm already I'm just thinking about tomorrow. I'm just thinking
about football. And then I'm gonna uh, I'm probably gonna
say this way too many times. Just the fact that
the Giants are favored for the first time in like
two years, twenty four games, twenty twenty four games, first
(43:38):
time they have been favored in twenty four games.
Speaker 1 (43:40):
Gosh, that hurts Giants fans.
Speaker 2 (43:43):
It's not good. I mean, it's not it's not good.
It definitely is not good. Do you have the details
on the food drive?
Speaker 3 (43:52):
I do? Oh you do?
Speaker 1 (43:53):
Yeah, very exciting stuff coming up here later in the
