Nine eighty dot Com WFX, Troyw GYFMHD two Obening W two forty opening,
Fox Sports nine eighty ninety five pointnine. Fact, it's time for
the Top four four with Levac andGoze. I have the four biggest stories
in the world of sports. Itis brought to you by Mohawk. They
(00:21):
always go out of their way toplease you. Goze, what is the
fourth biggest story? I appreciate theimmediate feedback we're seeing about that story from
earlier. I know it was cringeeverybody. I know what. Why do
you think I told it? Ofcourse I know it was. I lived
it. I lived that, Ilived that. I'm moving on this one
we missed yesterday. Oh is itbeautiful? You allby the Cross advances in
(00:46):
the NCUBA tournament. How about this? The Great Danes hosted Sacred Heart yesterday
in the NCAA's opening Round'm talking tothe men's lacrosse side winners against Sacred Heart.
Now they advance after the winning casest to take on Notre Dame,
the top seeded fighting Irish in thenc Double eight tournament. Face off is
(01:07):
set for me twelve five o'clock inSouth ben Leveck. How about coach Scott
Mars squad back in the NC DoubleA Tournament get an opportunity to pull up
the biggest upset in the NC DoubleA tournament, winning an NC Double A
Tournament playoff game. Amazing things goingon for the program. They're at Casey
Stadium. I don't I don't thinkit's a coincidence that we've been talking about
(01:30):
how tight this team is. Youknow that they sing Pearl Jam together and
they do the medicine games and andall that stuff. Scott Marr is one
of my absolute favorite people to talkto. He's just a genuinely good guy
and he'll drink a beer with you, chill out, talk life, and
then go coach lacrosse. Like that'sjust he's a He's just a genuinely good
guy. He's built that program andthe fact that he's found another team,
(01:55):
built another team that's this close andthis successful yet again like our guy Liam
Gleeson, exact same dude, Likedifferent in the way they get to where
they're but they're the same guy.You sit there, have a drink,
talk about life, feel like youfeel a better person for the conversation than
go watching them coach a hell oflacrosse game. Believe's gotta be looking over
(02:15):
a Scott Coin. What can Iget a window? Can I just can
act justly have a window where I'mthe guy for a little bit, Scottie.
We're at the preseason favorites. Wehad a great season. We were
going Nashville, we were so closeto qualifying for the NCAA tournament. And
here you got there. Boys.Gosh, but here here's with you,
Albany of the Cross. They've hadso many stars, the Thompson's Connor fields,
(02:38):
they've had so many All American AwardLA right, like, they've had
all these incredible players. With nodisrespect of the Great Danes that are playing
on the team now, but itseems as if what carried the Great Danes
was star power and what you saidjust moments ago, it's shifted away from
the stars, stealing the headlines tot e a M team program, gold
(03:02):
and purple, those things that matterto the brand of you all. But
in the Cross continues to roll on. And if the videos are the team
singing Pearl Jam, that's awesome.Well it's like it's like I say it
for like baseball and stuff, likeit's a long season, you need something
like like even with like arena football. Right now, it's it's not very
deep into the season, but it'salready a long season. These guys are
(03:24):
bonding over a lot of cool stuffand to watch lacrosse team, bond over
Pearl Jam, bond over the relationshipwith Scott mar And you know you talked
about the Stars. The reason theStars played for Scott Mahr is he finds
the way to let them be themselvesinside his system. So like that's the
kind of thing like when you're whenyou're the kind of coach you can go,
this is how I like to play. I know your style is a
(03:46):
little bit counter to that, butif we do this and this, it'll
fit perfectly. And everybody's like, let's go. I was talking to somebody
down in the Hudson Valley and they'regoing to the Pearl Jam concert next week
at the Arena in Las Vegas, the T Mobile Arena, and I believe
it's like his eighteenth or nineteenth PearlJam show. Think about that, Levank,
(04:06):
you're a Pearl Jam fan. Whenwe were in Vegas, you could
have maybe saw Pearl Jam, butthey came months later. Instead, we
got to see Carrot Top and Iseeing him. We didn't go to his
show. We saw him on abus with makeup on, and Brandon Lang
turned around and was almost physically illwith the sight of Carrot Top showed up
its pajamas slippers. He he lookedlike an older Carol Burnette looked like a
(04:34):
wet ragh. Let's move on tostory number three and stop talking about weird
looking Carrot Top. Let's talk baseball. The Yankees takeout on the Astros at
the five oh five first pitch inthe Bronx a little earlier start than usual.
Get ready for that matchup. Alsogames of note include today the Brewers
taking on the Cardinals. Brewers becomethe top team in the NL Center the
(04:54):
Guardians and White Sox. For whateverreason, I continue to bring up that
series as stinky as the White Soizeare getting. You're fixated so about the
White Sox being so bad it can'tturn away from it. Twins eleven to
one winners over twins. I hopeenough people remember that reference. Those are
great commercials were twins eleven to onewinners over the MS. Today, Red's
(05:15):
fall of the Diamondbacks buying to fourAngels and Royals tonight. It's a nine
thirty first pitch out on the Westcoast. Uh LEVAQ three one. By
the way, Rockies, who alsoabsolutely stink leading the Giants right now.
Yankees Astros. We talked about Stantona little bit earlier in the show.
You've got a pinstrike Parley on theway, you said it will say one
more time. You want full domination. You want to put the Astros to
(05:40):
bed. You don't want them toslowly sit up like the Undertaker. You
want them to rest in peace witha full season sweep tonight of the team
from Houston. I think we deserveit. I think it would beautiful if
it happened. Let's say times saybeautiful. I just uh, this is
better team. They're they're beat upfive h five first pitch today. I
don't know why I haven't looked intoit. I've got a theory on that.
(06:05):
I heard the Yankees called the CapitalRegions and said, if there's anything
else on in that time frame wherewe air games and needs to go off
the air immediately unless they air whateverthat is before us, is the better
for the fans and all. I'myou're trying to find a way to get
me to be able to watch mygame, and no, you just take
it. What do you mean?I thought you set me up for that.
(06:28):
I thought you tossed that my way. No full adult swing on that
soft while you threw me. You'remean, You're mean, mean me.
You set me up for that joke. You left it over the table,
you know what, go back tocalling people beautiful. Like at the worst
time I said it was at fiveoh five. You repeated it, and
so I'm like, oh, hewants me to hit something here. He's
swinging this back like pickleball. Hewants me to destroy someone. And I
(06:50):
destroyed it. Left it over thetable like a big ping pong table tennis
spike. I just did on thepunk tables tennis Spike. There's no other
sports station here in the Capitol region. None. We move on to story
number two. Here, there's twoNBA playoff games tonight, tip off set
for seven o'clock. The Cavaliers takeon the Celtics, Boston up one to
(07:11):
zero in that series. Another doubledigit points spread for the Celtics at home
tonight thirteen and a half. Thatline sits at the nightcap features the thunder
and the Mavericks. Thunder, bythe way, took game one in that
series, and I say that almostlike, oh yeah, the top seeded
Thunder. What a pro wants? What a pro needs? Who's singing that?
Watch in Thunder Basketball nine to thirtytip off set that one. It's
(07:34):
always on, the commercials, alwayson. I would love to yell that
out of them. And it's likea taunt host. Somebody from Dallas in
Game three has a sign like that, I'll back two games that are really
tough to read. And I saythat because we could be heading the blowout
city in both of these games,or we could get competitive games, like
I don't think this is a oneblowout one close. I feel like blowout
(07:57):
for both, blowst in both. After an Island fantastic game yesterday game Nixon
Pacers, do you want to showyour hand or you want to keep that
one till the play of the daya little later on in this hour,
I think, I think, Ithink I gotta keep it, you know,
I gotta. It's right because wedo that right before first pitch.
So okay, I'll save the playof the day for well, the play
of the day, all right.I don't know if that basketball. I
(08:18):
don't know if baseball or I don'tknow if hockey is gonna end up in
your play along with potentially a pinstraightparty. But the number one story's to
New York Rangers. The Rangers continueto roll on, they get things under
way in Carolina tonight at seven o'clock, it's two oh lead for the Rangers.
Nightcap Avalanche and Stars. Fantastic gamein Game one of that series.
How about Colorado down three to nothing, storming all the way back and winning
(08:41):
that one while the Rangers in Gametwo, double overtime winners over Carolina.
I just talked about how bad basketballmight be tonight. I can't say the
same for hockey. If you needa Thursday to watch tonight, Rangers,
Hurricanes, Avalanche Stars could be somegreat games. You know what, I
wasn't gonna do this. I'm gonnapod down the music here. I wasn't
gonna do this. But now thatwe talk Rangers, let's do this.
(09:03):
We got an email yesterday, andI think this is a very very fair
email. Like you and I talkhockey, very not that much lightly maybe
five percent, three percent maybe notthat We got an email from Ned Ned
yesterday during yesterday's show, Hello,Ned, Hey, that guy's glad to
hear you guys talking about the girls. Now. I think he meant Rangers,
(09:26):
but the girls I've never heard calledthe blue shirt. It's not the
girls. No, it feels inappropriateon some level. I'm gonna read the
whole email. Okay, after theNow we were talking about the big hit
that we both agreed should have beena suspension, should have been at least
something a potential serious injury could occur. I think Ned's email fair in the
(09:48):
sense that he is defending his teamto the death. Oh, he's a
diehard Rangers fan to the point thatI don't know if I agree with everything.
This got the back. Guy's gladto hear you guys discuss the girls.
But on a day after they heroicallyserve vibe tonight that they were not
at their best and continued their heaterthere on. You can't choose to blast
them. You can't choose to blasttheir captain and their team leader for his
(10:09):
quote intent on a missed check. Both teams are hitting hard and high in
this game. No one person involvedwith question his sportsmanship. He's known as
a heavy hitter who deserves clean checks. Who delivers clean checks? Everyone knows
that. Plus he's the leader inthe community, a leader in charity efforts,
and the key leader in the lockerroom. Gosh to say's the worst
player of the team. Deserves asuspension for a check that didn't even happen.
(10:33):
Shows you have no idea what you'retalking about. You're on the air.
Please don't choose to slander a goodguy based on one clip you happen
to see. You're missing a greatseries here. Do we know this person?
I don't. I don't think hewas cruel or mean and intent.
I think he's just a die hardRanger fan. And that the fact we
talked Rangers and we criticized that hitdid not look it. Okay, you
can write it into the show allyou want, email, social media,
(10:56):
you can call in on the eleviasionten thousand full lines. What do you
make of Ned's email about our Rangerstake from yesterday? More so pointed at
me. You know it's it's it'sHomer. It was very homersh People think
I'm insulting him. I'm not.I'm the King of the Homers. When
it comes to the Yankees and theRaiders, and a lot of you know,
the Firebirds and FireWolves all that.I'm I'm I am. I'm a
(11:20):
Homer. Uh Doe call me HomerJ Simpson. So I get it.
I'm with it. But you know, a little big came out, a
little big in defense, came outa little bit. Guys, he's driving
back. That was beautiful. No, I did not, I did not.
I have to admit you're really afan. I respect the fandom of
the team. I'm not even madabout it. I brought it up because
it's like, you're such a fanof this guy and fan of this team.
(11:41):
A check that is gonna be nasty, that's going viral, that's gonna
be dirty. You brought up charityefforts. I'm not saying he's a bad
guy, right right, right right. The HiT's terrible. Did you know
that when he does that car insurancegizmo, he says he's one of the
most conscientious drivers on the road.Did you know that? Guys? Did
(12:01):
you know the person that you're slanderingright there never leaves a shopping cart in
the parking lot, always puts itin the corral. Did you know that?
Guys? Huh, I've told thisstory before. One of the first
hosts I worked with this a guynamed Budd Pollaquin And Bud Pollackin told me
the story that the athlete that surprisedhim the most he ever interviewed in his
forty years with a guy named KermitWashington. And if you're a little to
(12:22):
younger, his real name was KermitWashington. If you don't remember the name
here. He became infamous because hepunched out Rudy tom Janovitch in an old
basketball gameing like you almost died onthe court because of how bad he punched
him. But he was a greatguy. He had one dirty play.
Like That's what makes sports such aweird feel, is that, like you
can be a great person, rightand you could commit a dirty play or
(12:46):
almost commit a dirty play. SoNet, we appreciate you listening. I
want to give you a shot,ou because we were talking Rangers today.
I'm glad you're rooting on your team. Yeah, he takes spiders he finds
in his house, catches him ina cup, and takes him outside.
That's the guy you're talking about it, so we're clear. Just so we're
clear, Okay. He has neveronce said no when checking out of the
(13:07):
grocery store and they say, wouldyou like to round up for what?
It doesn't even matter what the charityis. He says, yes, Okay,
that's the guy you're talking about.I hope you're happy with yourself.
I hope ned who's listens to thisshow realizes, like Levick said, he
would do that for a Yankee.I would do that for Cherry McNamara.
So we appreciate the defense of yourteam. We do. We do.
(13:31):
Every single every single tag is stillon his mattress and billows. That's true.
He would never remove them under penaltyof law. Do you know what
else about him? You know what? I somebody said, you want to
jail break a firestick? He said, No, that's the guy. Guys,
while you're sitting there talking about AfridaDirny Flyer, because he goes Superman
(13:52):
into the board trying to take adude top half off. Just think about
that. He once saved a firefrom an orphan Okay, I hope you're
happy. I hope you I hopeyou sleep well tonight, Sara. He
saved the fire from the orphanage. It was a weird time. It was.
It was a special time back inthe day when when there were video
(14:18):
cassettes, when you would rent themfrom Blockbuster. Do you know how many
times he took them back unrewound?Never, guys always rewound him. He
rewound DVDs. It's that I don'tthink you can. You wouldn't, You
wouldn't, would you? Would you? Would you? You know how many
times he's awkwardly called a coworker beautiful. She's never she's never dead. She's
(14:43):
not a coworker anymore, not withthat attitude. Never happened. You think
he's ever looked at the bit ofjad and said you're beautiful. Maybe,
but that's because he's a nice guy. Hey, I hope you're happy.
I just hope you're happy. Ihope you can sleep well knowing you've been
smirched the good name of the captain. How dare you? We have a
(15:05):

It is Lavac and Godz on aThursday Friday Eve. If you will
just think, guys, if thingshadn't changed in the way they did,
I'd leave here tonight, I'd getup tomorrow, I'd be on a plane
headed for Minnesota to take on theMinnesota myth. But things have changed,
(21:18):
have ruined it oh or or orsaved it or save As you know,
I'm not a fan of Minnesota,Minnesota twin cities because no one city could
suck this bad. You went inFebruary, though May I would assume would
be different. There's no I'm sure, is it? What? What do
you want to go to Minnesota for? Like? What is there about Minnesota
(21:41):
that you want to be a partof me. I'm good. I'd rather
be an ol. Are you doinga joke? He You know what Cleveland
rant right here? About Minnesota?Do is? Everybody said Cleveland was cool.
A lot of people go to Collifland. Just do that about Minnesota.
No, it's not. Ram's justlisten. Do you remember when we were
there and all the birds flew upsidedown because there's nothing worth pooping on in
Minnesota? You said it wasn't factual. From what I remember about the time
(22:04):
in Minnesota, there was a wonderfulChick fil A that was near us that
I enjoyed. You either every daylike every day the Mall of America party.
Gods ate Chick fil A on Sundayat Minnesota. That's how weird it
was. I would say this.I would say the Mall of America media
party that was at the Beam Parkwas the most fun you and I had
(22:25):
at a media party. Now,again, that's probably less about Minnesota is
the city, and more about theMall of America. The Arizona one was.
I know that was what made itso good. No, you know
what I hated about Minnesota. WeWe've always been able to get like a
nice stock of drinks to the room. I had to buy like this ridiculously
expensive bottle of bourbon. Yes,and gods drank it. God's Captain.
(22:52):
Because you stayed in Minnesota longer, you tried to sneak into the Super Bowl.
Not the whole thing, but enoughto let's say, satisfy me for
three days. Let's what it is. I don't think I had a quarter
of what you had. It's along time in Minnesota. Yeah. Again,
what else are you gonna do exceptfor buy overpriced bourban in the mall
(23:14):
and then go sit in your hotelroom and not freeze to death outside and
not be a looted in the SuperBowl? That was the one I tried
sneaking into that. Let's talk aboutthe story here about the potential professional new
arena coming to the Capitol region.Levac. Not sure if you saw the
surf of the Times Union today, but according to reports from the Times Union
perspective, owners want to build aneight thousand seat downtown stadium a part of
(23:40):
a three hundred million dollar entertainment districtin downtown Albany, including hotels, restaurants,
apartments and more, and to pushit even further, an MLS next
pro franchise could be on the way, according to League president and MLS Executive
vice president Charles alt Check quote, the Capital region has been on our radar
(24:03):
for some time. From a marketperspective, we don't have to be convinced.
Stadium would cost seventy five million dollarsright there in Liberty Square area downtown.
It would be the home to theMLS franchise. We're talking about the
twenty twenty six season. Why istwenty twenty six important? Well, that's
also going to coincide with the UnitedStates hosting the World Cup in that same
season. H Levac, what doyou make of this story that potentially a
(24:26):
MLS arena could be on the way, hosting soccer, maybe other performances like
we see with SPAC at the MVPArena. What do you make of this
report from the Times Union about anotherpotential sports franchise and a new arena on
the way in the Capital Region inthe near future. Is this gonna be
in downtown Allity? They're saying downtownall but it's what the report is saying.
(24:48):
Because I know that they're building thebuilding a facility, what it's supposed
to be for like union hockey overin Schenectady, correctly the five thousand seater.
It's interesting and I'll tell you whatit what pops to mind. I
was before the season started, anindividual kept emailing me through the team through
(25:11):
the website asking if I had interestin being part of a sport complex.
I called the guy I never heardback from, so maybe that was it.
Who knows, maybe we could havebeen a part of this, But
like obviously we have our home forthe team. It would I'd be more
than happy to, you know, place a pickup flag football there or something.
But I think the more we canget some indoor facilities the better.
(25:33):
It's difficult to find places to practiceindoor football in the winner in this area.
We've been blessed to make friends withboth AFROMS and now Hudson Valley Community
College. So more sports, goodsports. And if they're looking for a
name for their teams, I knowhow they could purchase the Valor, the
Blackjacks or the Brigade Woo. Allright, So, by the way,
for those who don't know, we'vesaid this on the show before. Mike
(25:56):
Corda, who's the owner of theAlmany Firebirds own owns those. So if
some who potentially could be owning thisMLS franchise wants to make it a bit
easier for themselves and already have thedesigns done and logo is ready to go,
there, save yourself some work onthat. Again. To clarify downtown
Albany, it's been proposed that it'sthe parking lot district between Hudson Avenue and
(26:17):
Liberty Street. I wish I couldexplain that more. If you are downtown
Albany, I think you understand theparking lot district. Hopefully you understand an
aerial shot from say a district alot of parking lots. The way I
used to describe it is like notwhere the bus pick up is, but
the area where you start going leftand right and don't know if it's a
one way or not. That's allI describe it in my head. So
(26:38):
let's talk about MLS though, becausewith no disrespect to the Valley Cats,
with no disrespect to the patroons whowe were going to join us a little
later on, Trev Weisch is goingto join us in the five o'clock hour.
The Firebirds team presidents sitting across fromme from the glass here the idea
that another sports franchise could be addedto the Capitol Region is a positive.
I think what happens in a lotof other markets and districts is that they
(27:00):
want to be the biggest show intown. And Lavac would admit it,
and Sam Clifford would admit it,from the Patroons and everybody for the fire
Wolves would Everybody wants to be thebest, Everybody wants the most fans,
everybody wants to make the most money. That is a very easy thing to
understand. But what's different in amedia market in comparison to a big market
is that that fight for the dollarof the media market is a lot more
(27:22):
competitive. You've got huge cities likeNew York and Boston everybody else. Sure,
there's competition. There's also a largeamount of people to corner soccer in
the Capital region. Leveck, Mymemory doesn't go back that far to think.
I don't remember soccer being a sportthat would be talked about as a
potential franchise. We've heard about arenaand indoor football, and basketball and baseball
(27:44):
and lacrosse NLL. This is thefirst time soccer has made its way.
Do you think this could potentially bea soccer market, especially with that twenty
twenty six talk through about the WorldCup in the US that year. Well,
that it is. It's a biggerdeal then, you know, Like
like when I was down in Columbus, that was something that was big.
They had two versions of indoor soccer, like they have the arena soccer.
(28:08):
It would play in the exact samedimensions as as the football team plays on.
But you also like there's ones wherethey're taking over like gyms and they
playing indoor soccer that way. Itis growing. There's more and more of
the leagues and to be probably honestwith you, significantly less overhead than if
you ran an indoor football. Hockey, basketball is probably about the same.
(28:30):
So, I mean you think aboutit. To run a soccer team,
you're gonna need a place to play, field, housing, food and balls
and uniforms, not helmets, notpads, you know, not all that
stuff. Travel, You got yourown bus. You're living the dream.
It's people are definitely getting on boardwith it. It's a weird game indoors
(28:52):
though it's not really my jam.Allegedly according to reports, it might be
open roof and outside. Oh ahsee, it's a little bit different now
because like, I see what you'regoing at with the indoor versus an outdoor
soccer idea, because like this nichein the Capital region. Let's let's be
real about it, right, Likethe one thing that's found success in the
(29:15):
Capital region is these niche type sports, like like indoor lacrosse, indoor football.
I know people don't want to viewit like this. We talked about
uh this in the past, butlike horse racing to a degree is a
niche sport. Like not everybody acrossthe country follows horse racing. I know
that's hard for people to understand inSerotogan others, but like someone consider that
(29:36):
a niche sport that finds popularity inAlbany. If this is an outdoor arena
and it's gonna see eight thousand, the combination would be both outdoor soccer for
men for an MLS franchise. There'salso rumors being thrown around that there is
a women's soccer league now that Ibelieve it's the NWSL, the National Women's
Soccer League, that there's a franchisegrowing. There's one in New Jersey,
(30:00):
there's one in Boston, so itcould be dual roles. That's a lot
to bring to one stadium. That'svery ambitious. Wait and see is not
the answer I want to give.I don't want to see like wait and
see because every look five six seven, I'm losing count of how many times
you and I personally have been atthe ground level of something launching and seeing
what's gone right, what's gone wrong, the obstacles on the way of a
(30:22):
franchise. So I'm optimistic like Ialways am about this working out, and
it's only good things like the factthat more sports at a high level arena
produced by Tottenham and the Buffalo Billsmight be coming to the five one eight.
Why would we ben a negative aboutit. There's no reason to have
the negative attitude about this. It'sall good things for the Capital, eat
and sports scene. I don't seeit work outdoor. You flipped into an
(30:47):
outdoor and indoor. Okay, well, the the indoor, I thought.
At least it's unique enough. It'sa little different. You can play three
sixty five. What's your outdoors?I don't know. It just feels like
a weird place to to trap assoccer field, doesn't it. Yes,
the the images against Times Union shoutout to them. They have a video
(31:07):
the concept on YouTube and everything else. Like the idea. I've seen this
before in high schools, where likethe back stands would go up against a
highway for lack of a better term, like you'd see traffic on the east
side of it, and then you'dsee the arena stuff to find a place
to park, which will be whyit's already kind of difficult enough to park
(31:29):
down there, to find parking. How that happened. But if we're gonna
circumplating about like parking in the dynamicsis the parking district? Yeah, so
there's plenty. There should be plentyof places in the park. Well,
listen, I mean I want Iwant more activity in downtown Albany. We
talked about this with Rebecca Lobo whenshe came here for the women's NCAA tournament.
(31:51):
I was thinking in the tune ofnew restaurants, bars, places to
shop, A part of that's gonnabe part of it, entertainment, hotels,
that's all gonna be added. Toudea legend, you know. I
was gonna say, it's kind ofit's kind of cock of me. I
want more down there. And thensomebody goes, look at this cool thing
I built, and I go,that's not what I wanted. That's not
(32:12):
where's the little Vac's statue out?How dare you? I would love that
would be the worst statue ever.I would hate it. I'd be the
one to pull it down, becauseyou know I would. I would insisted
in not being accurate. That's allenough, No more abs, less belly
fat? Why so many chins underthat beard. Let's go back to Rebecca
(32:36):
Lobo, because you and I theday after that happened, we both trashed
Rebecca Lobo, but that slowly lateron we were like, you know,
we would like that to be improved. And I think you took the lead
on that conversation, said like, look, there are things to improve,
and we both feel the same waynow, so yes, we both have
to accept like, hey, ifRebecca Lobo took a shot at all,
but he and said there's not thatmuch to do. And I know she
was trying to be snarky or whatever. Even her apology was weird. If
(32:58):
this got sparked because of Rebecca Lobo, which I have no reason to believe
it didn't. Now, the MLSfranchise probably didn't have a connection to that,
but the Entertainment District project and everythingelse getting this news out there.
Guess what if this actually happens andin twenty twenty six or twenty eight,
and then the women's tournament comes back, or the men's tournament for basketball and
(33:20):
all these other events, and thatcomment people remember five ten years from and
it's better because of that. Thankyou, Rebecca Lobo. Okay if you
really, because you went viral overa comment about the Capitol region and it
improved because of the comment. Ihate to do this to you. Uh
oh, but the stage that thisis at doesn't happen in a couple months.
(33:43):
Oh no, No, this isnot This is not no. I'm
saying the stage they're at now wherethey've already got a plan, and it's
that that's been going on a littlelonger than Rebecca Lobo coming out of the
front of the MVP arena and goingwhere's the cool stuff to do? That's
it's not. Maybe people are helpingwith it now because you're like, dude,
dang it. People notice there's nothingto do, but that's they're ahead
(34:06):
of that. This isn't because ofher. The public timeline matches, but
the private timeline, does it?There you go? Yes? I like,
there you go, Gus. Thatwas beautiful. If anything, I
would have added a little more tobe like maybe the timing of the article
for the Times the Union is interestingtoo, because if it came out the
day after Lobo, it would havebeen a little too defensive, like hey,
no, no, no quiet,Rebecca Becky, whatever your name is,
(34:29):
we've got this coming, all right, did you need it today?
All right? All right, I'llunderstand that perspective. He as a team
president, you know how these innerworkings of professionals sports things go. I
mean, no, not that level, but I just things move slowly,
and things that move fast sometimes havecrazy things happen to them during their season.
So let's do this, LEVC.I want, I want to do
(34:52):
this. We're talking about local sportsright now. We've got the clearance for
this, and this happened moments ago, so let's have if you're listening right
now, be a part of this. The Alby FireWolves are in action on

The Giants have signed a veteran widereceiver. Ooh, what a tease?
(41:31):
Is it somebody that I know?Is it somebody who's had a Fantasy football
impact? There have been a topreceiver. Yeah, it's been a couple
of years, but definitely, definitelywas somebody you were like, a wide
receiver too. Probably ooh, awide receiver too. Who's out there?
Who is it that? I thinkthat's I don't think I have enough clues.
Go ahead. Alan Robinson, formerBear, former Jag current Well was
(41:53):
a Steeler now member of the NewYork Football Giants. Bigger guy, fast,
thirties, thirty years old, alittle bit on the backside of the
career, but he's a pro. This is what the Giants have done now
to me, and I'm not I'mnot a Giants fan, so I wonder
if Giant fan feels different about thissigning. My first instinct to veteran wide
(42:15):
receiver. You're gonna take a flyeron to hope he's an impactful player.
Is Kenny Galladay? Like that's thefirst thing that jumps abound. Kenny Galladay
was such a stat machine at Detroitand he bombed so epically in New York.
So I was like, Okay, that didn't work out, but you
know what, they're gonna need aweapon. And then, of course my
next question I had is like, hey, did Darren Waller retire? Because
(42:37):
if they're adding, right, ifthey're adding weapons post draft that are veterans,
I think it's way too early toevaluate whether or not your rookies are
good enough like rookie mini camps andOTAs, and you have no idea and
you've already drafted in league neighbors,so he's not gonna hick his spot.
But even though they played different positions, do you think I'm off on this
thinking that the Alan Robinson signing mighthave anything to do with Darren Waller's future
(43:00):
decision? Yeah, I mean Iguess the bigger receiver the Yeah, I
mean I suppose, but I thinkyou would. Alan Robinson is a pro
right. I think had thirty fourcatches a couple of two three hundred yards
last year. Nothing to write homeabout, but uh, when you've got
(43:21):
a wide receiver room of Wendell Robinson, Darius Slayton, Jalen Hyatt, Isaiah
Hodgens and now Molikue neighbors. Uh, you know, Isaiah McKenzie. I
think Alan Robinson's something little different thanthose guys. Bigger dude, go get
the ball. That can talk tothese guys, all these junksters, a
(43:42):
little little senior leadership in the roomat thirty years old. I don't I
don't love it, but I don'thate it. Alan Robinson in his career
played at Penn State. His secondyear in league, had fourteen hundred yards
and fourteen touchdowns. That's remarkable.Yeah, uh the Bears. His best
(44:02):
season with the Bears is pretty closeto that. He hit twelve fifty and
six. Oh was that the Jagswhen he started the Jags? I mean
because he made his money leaving theJacks to go to the Bears. Fourteen
hundred and fourteen in a sixteen gameschedule. I gotta always do that.
Now. That's about as good asa lot of receivers who were in the
Hall of Fame have had a career. That's all hw Those numbers were in
twenty fifteen, But again it's twentyfifteen. It's scary as this sounds.
(44:25):
His last three seasons, three seasonscombined, don't match that total. We
where were those three seasons because Pittsburghwas Kenny Pickett and uh what Mitchell Trubisky
and uh Mason Rudolph. The seasonbefore that, I believe it was an
injured Matthew Stafford in the Rams.Yeah, and then the season before that
(44:46):
was the final year for him inChicago. Which did you quit you quarterback?
The bet I did? Yeah,it's pretty sure you no. I
think it's it's interesting. I don'tthink he's the guy who's gonna come in
and all of a sudden he's gonnahave a researchers in his career, he's
gonna have seventy five grabs for ninehundred yards and eight touchdowns. But I
think he's gonna be I think he'sa vet, he's a he's a leader
(45:09):
of the room. I think it'sgood to have a guy like that when
you got a lot of young talentat wide receiver. The other Giants tip
before he got another one. Theygrabbed Nathan Rourke off Waivers, the quarterback.
The Patriots let go. He wasa CFL star, he's he was
out there and they grabbed him.I guess the interesting story, according to
(45:30):
the Post, is not so muchthat the Giants grabbed him. It's who
was up against him, the otherteam that claimed him off waivers. It's
it's probably the least likely team youwould expect to claim a quarterback off waivers
after what they've done recently. TheChiefs, No, the Bills, no,
what they've done recently, Bears,Falcons. That's hilarious, right,
(45:53):
You didn't want to think about itthat. I couldn't even piece what one
hundred and eighty million dollars to KirkCousins, the first round draft pick to
Michael Penni's June. Then hey, there's a quarterback. Get him like they're
gonna have a quarterback for like fiftydudes. Uh yeah, so Giants have
him too. There go a littleGiants dukes for you. A little football
felt like talking football. Here's whatI'd say about Nathan Roorick. I'm sure
(46:15):
he's a wonderful player. I'm surehe's probably a fine guy. If Nathan
Rourke were to walk in this studioright now and say Hi, my name's
Nathan Roorick, I would have nothingon him. He'd be like, oh,
we have a new in turn.Hey, right, Tommy DeVito is
still on the roster. Yeah,Drew lock and yeah, Daniel Jones.
Yep, mister Rourke get ready forsome preseason football. So but if you're
(46:38):
if you're truly a quarterback whisperer,Right, Drew Locke was was a high
round draft pick, Dale Jones numberwhat six overall? Yes, Nathan Roorke
highly sought after because of what hedid in Cane Football League. And then
Tommy DeVito. You know, TommyCullins, you should be able to turn
(46:58):
one of those guys into a reasonlike a reasonable starter, right, No,
because they all stink. I thinkday Die is gonna get his chances
here. You know, I'll dothis though I love Tommy defdo. I
think Tommy Defido had a really badoffensive line on a bad system in college
for his strength that you know,Baber's spread run option Illinois was a better
fit for him. He did playwell. Tommy Culton's had some moments.
(47:21):
Drew Locke has shown times where he'sgot one of the best arms in that
class he was in, and he'shad some really good moments in the NFL
flashes. I'll say this about DanielJones. You've heard I don't say hundreds,
but close to my takes about howDaniel Jones is in any good.
It was a bad pick. He'snot a good quality quarterback. Here's what's
happened now. And I saw ourpal Jordan Ron and I actually did this
(47:43):
on Twitter. I'm like, youknow what, You're totally right about this,
Jordan. The pendulum of Daniel Joneshas swung so far too. He
can barely hold the football and walkon the field. Like Giant Fan because
they didn't draft a quarterback, isso anti Daniel Jones, and the bar
has gone so low after getting injuredthat it's now unfair. Like it's like,
(48:05):
guys, he's not that bad.You know, he's not good,
He's not even average, but he'snot as bad as Giant Fan has been
blasted him in the last week aboutthat they wanted j. J. McCarthy,
they wanted Panics, they want andthe fact they didn't get him,
you would think Daniel Jones is goingout there throwing the ball with his feet
like the pendulum has gone far tooin the Daniel Jones back. He's not
(48:29):
great, but he can play quarterbackin the NFL. He had a good
season in twenty twenty three. Excuseme, twenty twenty two. I knew
that fall was gonna get me twentytwenty two. So it's actually too much.
Daniel Jones bashy now in May.Yeah, you've you've pushed it so
far that now Gyz is a supporterof Danny dinebacks. Yeah, let's pull
it back a little bit, Ghinefans. All right, let's were let
(48:51):
us to crazy hearing May he knowsyou have He's gonna have like three good
games to start the season. Arelike, God, extend him, let's
go. He's back. We knewyou. I never doubted him for a
minute. Ever, you know what'sgonna happen next. Then they're gonna get
like to like five and eleven orfive and twelve and then miss out on
Shador Sanders, Quinn, you Weres, Carson and back all the soon to
(49:15):
be star quarterbacks. The John's aregonna sit outside of it again for a
second time. Time for the playof the day, brought to you by
Mohawk Chevrolet. Together, let's driveat Molwak Chevy wh They always go out
of their way to please you.Uh. The pinstrip parlay hit yesterday?
Ooh love, keep that in thechamber. I think you deserve to go
second today after that hit from yesterday, I think you got to be the
(49:37):
main event in this segment. I'mgonna go first to the next kicker too,
though both uh over the moon?If I had both? All right,
yeah, you go first. Myplays are snorefest, but I feel
confident. Yesterday I liked the howabout this is the NHL? By the
way, I went with a goalscorer fantasy parlay, which I rarely ever
do, and the games that Iwanted ended with sixteen total goals scored.
(50:00):
And how many of those sixteen twoguys I picked this course scored answer zero?
Yes, let's go to the NBA'sunfortunate. I want to just go
with the Celtics and go to blowoutCity, but I don't know if that's
enough fun. So we're gonna doa little dance here. We're going Celtics
and Thunder both lines. Here. You're looking at about a two and a
(50:21):
half point pay two point five paybackon your parlay. However, I think
this is more fun. So takethe Boston Celtics separately one bet, take
the Oklahoma City Thunder one bet,and move it or into a little all
line tonight. Everybody get that upto the Oklahoma City Thunder like eight and
(50:42):
a half, eight and a half, So move the line a little bit.
I think it's gonna be double blowoutstonight, So chop them up.
Celtics with the points, Thunder withthe points, and if you want to
get a little bigger of a paybackin your parlay, if you want to
combine them, move that thunder upto eight and a half. Because I'm
feeling another blowout involved in the MAVsin OKC tonight. All right, I
(51:04):
will tell you that the Knicks kicker. The reason I didn't get it is
that Brunson missed a quarter. OtherwiseI would have added easily. I think
I only missed out like three fourpoints. That dragged the championship parlay down.
The Knicks won the game, theyare a win closer to a championship,
but because of Brunson and og andand Ob being hurt, I went
(51:24):
from a forty one dollars cash outto a thirty three dollars cash out.
How do you how do you geta game closer and still lose traction?
You know you know the answer.Somebody at that's got an injury apart on
og Or Brunson. Yeah, that'strue, all right, the pinstrikee parlay.
Loving these things. I'm having funwith them. Which games about to
start, so get in and ifyou're gonna follow along, small moneies plus
(51:47):
four to eleven Yankees money line JohnCarlostan, Aaron Judge, Juan Soto all
to get ahead, and then threeplus strike counts from Marcus Strowman, so
Yankee when Minnesota three plus strikeouts onthe alt strikeout line for Marcus Stroman is
plus four eleven, so ten dollarsbrings you back forty one to ten.
(52:10):
I was totally indifferent about your parlayyesterday. I had no take on it.
This one feels really good. Ido have a follow up question,
though, because I think we needto clarify something for people who might be
tailing following the parlay for you tonight, Is there a reason as to why
you do the alt strikeouts? Areyou just value closers? Listening probably right
now and be like value guys, that's the answer. I believe you do
(52:34):
that just because the strikeouts the hardestone when you're deciding the parlay of what
one to put in, so youfeel the least confident in the I'm I'm
just guessing I'm actually curious of that. Yeah, yeah, well again,
it's just I want to add alittle bit more to the total, and
I want to give myself a chanceto enjoy the pitching performance. Yes,
so with it this way, I'mtelling you that I think three guys who
(52:54):
are starting to really heat up aregoing to heat up your continue their hot
streaks. And then Marcus Stroman,I want to say, his actual strikeout
line was four and a half,so to go three. I just backed
it off a little bit, butit maybe I get to enjoy it.
He might. Who knows, hemight go out there and get in the
first inning. I got I gotway less to worry about. If he
gets into the first inning, he'llgo to social media. Celebrate everybody.
(53:14):
It is May ninth, and myparlay that doesn't exist, of we will
talk about a Marcus Stroman's social mediaposted this summer has not hit yet,
thank goodness, thank goodness. Allright, so well, that guy's having
a great day having some fun here. Get ready for hour number three,
hour number three, which I youknow, mentally, I feel like,
(53:35):
since it's not written on the sideof my truck. Yet I shouldn't have
to work. I think I shouldbe allowed to leave. The truck still
says three to five, So Iget to leave, right, I mean,
I think it's the thing. DidI tell you I told the area
president Howard today about your passing outincident on Tuesday? Oh no, So
he's got to check on you becausehe has some exciting stuff about the Firebirds.
We're going to talk more about comingup, maybe in the next hour
(53:58):
potentially. I went into his offthis morning and I said, I need
you to call corporate tell them howtalented I am and that you need me
here full time. And he goes, I've tried. I go, I'll
call for you, and he goes, no, you will not. Now
that he knows I passed out, maybe you'll let me call. Did you
