Now back to Levak and guzz onninety five, nine and nine eighty AM
Fox Sports Radio. Pretty historic momentlast night at Foxborough as the Patriots honored
and a retired Brady's number twelve. The speeches, like the pieces of the

(00:23):
speeches that we've seen going out, like you can kind of you kind of
understand, like when that guy gotgoing to the huddle, why you want
to run through a brick wall forhim? You know, like you kind
of understand where if you walked intothe weight room when he was in there,
you would you probably either spinning leaveor get ready to you know,
get after it. Good stuff.I know Boston Dan went yes see didn

(00:47):
he sent us a snapchat a pictureof it video. How do you get
he's a Giants fan? But it'shis connections through the Orange roop, it
is. It's the orange roof connection, That's what That's what gets saying.
But again, he he's a Giantsfan, but I think he embraces the
Patriots because everyone hates the Patriots, and he likes to be that guy,
you know, like he he doeslike he's he's I like to do that

(01:11):
guy when I already when I reallylike a team, like I think if
I think whatever, like is theis the air quote villain in the NFL
is gonna get his love and becausehe's from you know, mass that it
all works for him. But itgot me thinking, who what football player
would I go see? Not playfootball? Like? Because that you know

(01:36):
me, man, I can't sitstill for a lot of things, Like
there's no way I'm going to speecheslike I'm just not gonna Like if you
told me Tom Brady, Julian Edelmanand all these like Bill Belichi, I'd
be like, oh, we goinga past game. No, we're gonna
watch them talk. I'd be like, peace out, that's good, you
enjoy that. I'll fast forward throughYouTube tomorrow. Okay, Okay, let's

(01:57):
you know what I'm saying right Like, well, I don't know if I
necessarily believe you, would you goto that? Would I go to the
Tom Brady retirement? Would you drivealmost four hours to watch Tom Brady and
everyone talk? No? But here'swhat I've done before. I've gone to
when Syracuse won the national champion inbasketball in two thousand and three, I
not only went to the parade, but I went to the carrier home when

(02:20):
they had the celebration when the playersgot out and gave speed. Now wasn't
hours long, but it was liketo celebrate, to be a part of
the team, to see that Idid go to that. Now, hey,
but you're not still like you're fun. Yes, I'm having fun,
But wait a second, this isyour sitting there watching it like you're talking.
I could have sworn one of thefirst things I ever learned about you,

(02:42):
before I ever met you, oneof the first things someone told me
about you was that when you enteredthis sports land, you were the one
who tried to get in a busfield of people to Cooperstown, New York
for the Boo Bus. Yeah, when speeches are going on the weekend of
the Hall of Fame, you wantedto not just go to the Hall of
Fame where there's speechesn't where there's aninduction, but you wanted a group of
Yankee fans to take a bus toboot Pedro during his speech. Yeah,

(03:07):
yeah, well that sounds like you'dwant to go to an event like that.
Maybe changed them ten years ago.I don't know if you know.
The reaction that I got over thatyou bringing up like it definitely tests the
do I want to be canceled becausethat was every blue hair listed. It

(03:28):
was like, you have no respectfor the Hall of Fame and like I'd
punch you if you I'm like, you'd break a hippo man. But that
wasn't to go. I wasn't gonnalisten to him speak. I was gonna
try and ruin it and then Iwould come back home. And that's an
hour. That's not four hours. That's an hour. And I just I
hated Patro that Patre that much likeBrady is like I'm I'm I'm never gonna

(03:53):
love Brady because of what he didto my Raiders, but I like,
I respect him because I was tryingto help my Raiders and I'm Michigan fan.
But he wasn't like when I watchedwhen he was at Michigan. You
watched for Drew Henson to come outand bomb the thing, not Brady to
dank and dunk it. So I'mnot driving four hours to sit in another
couple hours and listen to a dudelike when I get if you did that

(04:15):
during a game, sure, holdanother animal, I might go, Well,
let's let's spin it like this.Okay, let's say kiss is what
keeps popping in my head. ButI think Kiss is a great example of
this. Let's say you're a fanof the band Kiss, and Kiss has
done how many peop who isn't howmany? But how many retirement tours have
they done? It feels like they'vedone like ten twelve retirement tours. But

(04:35):
if you're a fan of the bandKiss, you know this the last time
you're gonna see Kiss, the makeup, Jean and everything, so you want
to go. But that last partis important because this could be the last
time you see Kiss together. Thissort of if you were a Patriot fan,
if you're a season ticket holder,if you've rooted out of the Patriots,

(04:55):
that moment of Brady being honored issupposed to symbolize the final time as
him as the Patriot, Like there'sno a second ceremony, there's no other
time. He's gonna put a footstatute. They're probably gonna do something for
that too, but maybe they will. But you would assume would you go
no, Okay, well who wouldyou go for? I would go so
McNabb. This hurts, But McNabbwas probably never gonna go to Canton.

(05:18):
That's a they we retired as barstool. I don't think I would go to
can't know how to see McNab's induction. However, I've never gone there before.
So one day I'd like to goto the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
It'd be cool if it could betogether. I would like to.
I don't know if life will letme do this, but I would like
to go to Springfield, Massachusetts theDecarmelo Anthony is inducted to the Basketball Hall

(05:43):
of Fame Springfield is what I remember. This isn't even like the Hall of
Fame. This is the Hall ofFoxborough. Well, it's the Patriot Hall
of Honors, Fame Honors, whateveryou want. Like you're talking about the
Hall of Fame induction, which isstill I'm a little like I'm not what
I used to be on that,Like I used to be all about that.
But again, I I just can'tinstill that long. They'd have to
up my dose to adderall exponentially. It's more medication. But like for me,

(06:11):
again, I was trying. I'mtrying to think like even Jeter,
you know why, the only reasonI would do that for Derek Jeter.
That and again, this is astandalone event. This is not like if
you come to this baseball game orthis football game, you'll get to see
us on or so and so.No, this is a standard. They
created an event to retire the numbertwelve for Brady. So again, all

(06:32):
you're getting. And I already sawthe roast of Tom Brady. This is
not gonna be better than that. And I watched that at home. That
was fine. You it's the entireevent, Like, there's no football game
gonna be broke breaking out, there'sno whatever. I'm not I'm not doing
that. I'm not going to that. Even like the Hall of Fame,
it's who's inducting him, who's thisever? We know who's gonna be there at

(06:55):
this Edelman, him and palishak ata nice moment. I got everything I
needed to get from it. Onon X, I got I got what
I needed. There's nobody that Iwould go. I can't say nobody.
I haven't been able to think ofthe person that I would go watch them
hang their number. Hmm. Nowagain, I'm not a Pats fan.

(07:15):
He didn't hand me six six titles. Would you say, though, that
the induction doesn't matter Baseball, football, basketball, hockey, fight sports.
A Hall of fame induction and honorsceremony, whatever it might be. Wouldn't
that be a little bit more entertainingthan a draft though, like a Major
League Baseball, NBA, NFL draft. I've covered two of them. I

(07:36):
think it'd be. I don't knowthe draft. The draft is there is
the unknown, like there's the arethey gonna take so and so? Are
they gonna do this? Or atight end like whatever, you know what
I mean? But like, Iknow what's gonna happen here. Everyone's gonna
tell him how pretty and Grady is, and then they're gonna throw the the
you know, the one two upin the rafters and we all and then

(07:58):
it's over. That's almost better, though, like that idea of the known
for Brady And if you're a fanof out, well, so let's say
Tim Brown here. Let's say TimBrown is getting honored again by the Raiders,
Right, Okay, So like let'ssay, for instance, happened in
Vegas. You know, if youbuy tickets Tim Brown, your favorite athlete,
is going to be there. They'regoing to talk about the Raiders,
They're going to talk about history, and how about a lot of things,

(08:18):
you like, what can happen ina draft is let's say you're a Raider
fan and it's the second or it'sthe fourth round. We'll do It's no
the first round. Let's do thefirst round. The Raiders are on the
clock. It's the twenty sixth overallpick. Here's Vegas. We have a
trade. I just waited four hoursout here and whatever, and I need
to see my team pick. There'sa chance you show up to a draft,

(08:39):
but I'm not going. But I'mnot going to that draft. Okay,
they have you, like like atop five pick, I might go
to that draft. And again, the draft is different because I am a
fan of all thirty two teams inone way, shape or form, so
all thirty and then I'm a fanof a lot of the college kids.
There's a lot of different reasons andthings are different. They're changing. It's
different. This is legitimately like JohnBrady, is you alive? And everybody's

(09:01):
sitting there going ooh aheeth are sowhite. So I have a teammate.
His name is Brian. He wasa loved Brett Pharv. That's his guy.
He's a Packer fan. When weplayed Popworner football together, our uniforms
looked like the Packers, so firstfootball team. Packers loved Brett Fharv to

(09:22):
the point where he had gone tocan'ton o'hio for the far of induction.
So I asked him, I callhim Goody. I'm like, Goody,
what do you think about the fireinduction? Goes. Let me tell you,
never do that, Never do itagain. He goes, it was
cool to see my favorite athlete getinducted in the Hall of Fame. That
thing started at like ten o'clock inthe morning and didn't wrap for like seven
hours. He took all day long. The Hall chairs school. Now here's

(09:48):
the thing, though, there's probablysomebody listening right now, whether it's on
the podcast side or on ninety five, nine or nine eighty, that has
gone to a Hall of Fame induction, whether that be for professional athletes college,
they're a bunch of high school inductions. There's one guy, Rennie Rennie
LaRue, who I think owns ninetyfive Hall of Fames down the Capitol region.

(10:09):
He just making them up. Isthat soon enough there's gonna be a
Hall of Fame, four Hall ofFames. Yeah, he inducted the Baseball
Hall of Fame last year. Ithink for Rennie LaRue, there could be
a point where they're gonna do aCapitol Region Sports Radio Hall of Fame and
then that's he's like thet ever kissup. No no no no, no,
no no no. I won't.But I mean everyone's gone through these

(10:31):
maybe you maybe you feel l tenthousands just I mean we're talking about just
this is this isn't This is twohours minimum of one player. That's all
it is, right, you gottadrive four hours? Would you sit there
with your butt falling asleep and andand go through this? Like again?

(10:54):
If I had the difference is probablyI don't have anyone who again it would
be Jeter, it would be somebodywho I felt personally handed me six championship.
What about Pearl Jam. You're aPearl Jam fan. That's like ginn
Saw It's back Okay, never feltthe need to go again. I can
listen to him on the CD,I can watch the I can watch on
paiod like once I've seen it,I'm god. Like football, everyone's different.

(11:16):
Every game is different. Baseball, every game is different. I go,
I love you Bears. Geraudis alittle smack. I think this take
by you the I don't have theattention span to sit through speeches is a
young man's take, and I likeit. I think there's probably gen Zers.
If our guy Zach, who's probablythe youngest junior is in the building
right now, he's probably hearing yourtake and like you're right at the vac

(11:39):
like this, this is the worldwe live in twenty twenty four. Why
would I go to the Brady thingwhen I'm gonna watch it on Twitter later?
Why would I sit through this whenI can watch? Like I brought
the draft joke in the game, but practice not a gay again. I
just I didn't. I don't haveMaybe it's maybe it is maybe maybe it's
a little jealousy that hats fans havethat guy, but well they don't know

(12:03):
anymore. But no, it's JeterTim Brown. I love, I love
Tim Brown. But we got achance talk to Tim Brown. I feel
good. I feel like that partof my soul has been filled. I
don't I'm afraid to talk to MaxCrosby. I don't know if I'll like
him. I love him as afootball player. I don't know if we
have a lot in common ast people, you know, there could be things

(12:26):
in sports that have just phased out, like this is the way we did
it in the past. There waswhat there was thousands of people there.
Oh yeah, but like that doesn'tmake it less confusing for me though,
Like the NFL draft they will callthirty two names. Yeah, how fast
can you read thirty two names?Sixty seconds? Maybe a minute and a
half not the best reader, fiveand a half hours of maybe live draft

(12:46):
coverage. Yeah, I'm in likethat. But it's one of those things
you would think would face out, like it just change drafted. It's different.
You know each and each time, you know, the chimes go off,
and then mel kiper us why thatteam is an idiot or why it's
smart, and then and then wego to the next one and they tell
us the same thing. Or thenmaybe there's the Minnesota fiasco where they don't

(13:09):
get their card in and people arejumping ahead of them and drafting. Do
you think Tom Brady should have givenout prizes because the more and more you
talk about people not wanting to goto events when people talk for a long
time, I hope people aren't beingturned away by When you and I are
out live a lot this summer aswe do three hours talking. You can
come and go, Yes, youcan come and go, and like we
don't talk about the same thing forthree hours, you know, and listen.

(13:31):
If you don't listen to it,I get it. I never listen
to us, I you know.But again, I just I couldn't think
of who it was, like you'vegot carmelo. I just it was somebody
I knew. Like, let's sayyears from now, Darius Prince retires and
the AFL puts him in the theArena Football Hall of Fame. I would

(13:54):
want to be there for Darius.I would. And I also know Darius
isn't gonna talk for a long time. It's gonna be one of us who's
gonna have to talk for like eitherdamon where myself, you know, somebody
else is gonna have to go upand do because because Darius is gonna get
up there and very concisely. Ireally appreciate it. It's a great time.
I'm glad you guys appreciate me.Boom boom. Let's if you guys

(14:16):
want to student play in the parkinglot. Let's let's leep and go like
something and then like like on thego going out, like it'll be like
that he won't. He doesn't.I would go for that. What if
Sean and Ritchie get the call outto the hall, they go to the
New York State Broadcasting Hall of Fame. Would you go to that? Because
I talk a lot longer, Ithink they should be within the next two
to three years. If these peoplestart to mail me, uh when I

(14:37):
go, you know, it's weird. Of course I would go. It's
for my friends. But there's apart of me that if I'm not on
that, I'll be a little mad. I do feel Yeah, I feel
like the two best versions of thatshow was Scott Reardon or me. I
feel like those are the two bestversions. You're like Moose for the cowboys

(14:58):
out in the audience seeing em.It's and until this time. All right.
Maybe I wasn't the triplet, butat least some of those stage I
know you're thanking me, Bud,where's my call coming? I brought.
I brought a lot of humor tothat show for like, I don't know,
three to three to five years, there was I did some stuff,
but no, no, absolutely Iwould go for them. Uncle Vito,
I would go. You know,no, I wouldn't go for you.

(15:24):
You don't let me talk at yourwedding. I think I think my call
is not coming here, but we'reboth gonna be long dead by then.

so close to that Aubny Firebirds game. I can no oay. It's gonna
be amazing Firebirds versus Predators seven o'clockSatura nighte block parties starting at five,
So a kind of just want toget to it. Yeah, not just
the Firebird game on Center, buttomorrow it's another home game, So it's
that Firebird five o'clock. Fox takeoverthis time tomorrow. Coach, where is

don't know if he'll offer anything abouttheir Arena Football League tomorrow, but the

(22:30):
takeover for the five o'clock hours startstomorrow at five o'clock. Do you ever
you look over the trending on Xyou see a name like you ever play
the game of Like first thought theydid they die? Right? Right?
Right? Did they die? Likeit? For like, I see Bill
Burr as trending, I'm like,oh, who do you piss off?

(22:51):
You know what I mean? Likeit's like whatever, And his take on
WNBA is swirling right now. JeffHardy, I see he's trending. I
literally thought, did he die?Is Harrison Ford still trending? I didn't.
I didn't see. He's not notin mine? Right? Yeah,
he might want to check on thatone for me, because I saw him
trending. I also thought did HarrisonFord die? Was like Jeff Hardy,

(23:12):
like I met him, we talkedabout Jeanett. I met him when I
was on that station. So howmany years was that? Fifteen, sixteen,
seventeen years ago? It was alltypes of mess up. Yeah,
he had trouble get it was arainy morning, he had trouble getting out
of a limousin, and like he'sabout to become a free agent. So
I guess he's about to get outof aw and potentially go back. Yeah,
the rumors the Hardy Boys are comingback. It'd be pretty cool.

(23:33):
Cool? Is that the word? They be there? Alvin Kamara is trending
because he skipped the last day ofmini camps trying to get a new deal.
Not but again, Jeff, Isaw Jeff Hardy and I thought that,
he said, Harrison Ford, Isthat what I'm looking at? I
believe he's Okay, he's promoting anew movie, presumed Dennison is, but
he's promoting Jake Chillen Hall is steppingin for Harrison Ford. Okay, all

(23:56):
right, good, that makes mehappy. I won't look it up then,
because God forbid. It's not thatJJ Reddick is trending because he's now
officially interviewing for the Lakers head coachjob. Uh, second time they've met,
right, because there's an interview andthen meetian. This is where it
gets a little bit magazine. Theytalked for like ninety minutes I think at
the draft or whatever. Rob Polenkaand he did lottery draft lottery, yeahright,

(24:19):
because draft doesn't happen yet. Wehaven't. Yeah, I haven't seen
seventeen dudes from Ukraine drafted that Idon't know who the hell they are yet.
Well that is important though, becauseyou would think the Lakers have to
make a decision before draft time.Draft week is the final week of June
and it's two days I think it'stwenty six, twenty seven somewhere around there.
So you would think that has tobe the deadline that someone needs to

(24:40):
be in place for the Lakers beforethen, because WHOA, this is weird.
I'm picking a team for a coach. We don't know who the coach
is. Who was actually does thiswork for their system? To stop in
it it's happened? Hope. Didthe Giants do that? I think the
Giants said that usually not Usually whathappens is the Jets as well as where
they drafted and then it was like, all right, you're out. That's
exactly. I think it was theJets. They drafted everybody and then they

(25:00):
you know what, the Bills.I think Doug Whaley had that happen where
they drafted the team and then theyfired him, and people tried to telling
us that, Well, the reasonthey do it that way is because they
have all the scouts for the followingyear, so they keep all of their
work and then they say just leaveyour work here, all right, now
get out, and then they bringit a duke. Anyways, with JJ
Redick, what happened? Just playeda quick round of where are they now?

(25:22):
It's JJ Redick, Doug Whaley.Oh, let me guess here is
Doug Way? Is he in theUFLU. He is the current senior vice
president of player of Personnel for theXFL, so he's got to be part
of the UFL. Then, okay, yeah I was. I don't know
if they left him there, didn'ttell them. Yeah, no, no,

(25:45):
you're still running the XFL. Doug, keep playing personnel, you got
it. Don't screw it up,buddy, Why do we play? We
don't? Do you think? No? The controllers on they're working at kid,
it's definitely you doing that move.Uh. JJ Reddick, though,
what do you think you have youwarmed up to another? Dan Hurley said,
no, this is a weird spotfor JJ Redick because if you were
a coach, well, Jay Wrt'snot the best example here, but somebody

(26:07):
Mark Fugh from Gonzag. I'll throwa random name out there. Mark Fugh
is an accomplished college coach who reallydoesn't get interviewed a lot for the NBA.
But maybe one day Mark Fugh isgoing to be in the Basketball Hall
of Fame for the accomplished. She'she's done a Gonzaga to hear. Hey,
uh, here's the deal man. We're gonna interview a bunch of people
before you. You're probably gonna bethe fourth or fifth pick. He's still

(26:27):
interested. Some guys' egos, especiallywho have been accomplished head coaches, would
get rubbed the wrong way, likeI'm good, I'm not the fifth option.
I'm gonna go win a championship here. I don't need you, you
need me. JJ Reddick's really notin that spot. Jay Rex's ad a
great place. He's got the NBAFinals, gig on television, his podcast,
do well. He's doing another podcastwith Lebron. If he's the head

(26:48):
coach of the Lakers, great,he's not. He's played fourteen to fifteen
years in the NBA, He's anall time great college player, made a
lot of money. Doesn't have todo it, which is a weird thing
to say about a potential Laker headcoach. Does it need to take it
if he doesn't want to? Haven'tyou consistently said it's one of the best
coaches? Does so? Like that? Shouldn't that shouldn't negate the ego a

(27:11):
little bit? I would think alittle bit, especially if you're a if
you've never been a head coach before, you know, Like again, Aaron
Boone to the Yankees, JJ Reddickto the you know, to the Lakers.
I'll be I'll be perfectly honest withyou. I try to put myself
in the situation. Okay. WouldI be insulted that they talked to Dan
Hurley before me and they made himan offer? I wouldn't love it.

(27:33):
Would it be a deal breaker? No? Hey, how about six years,
thirty five million dollars? Peace outthem? Ount you're not given me
be half what you're gonna Hurley you'renot gonna be half of it. Well,
let's let's play this game like this, right. Let's say, for
instance, news Channel six, oneof the long standing television stations that's been

(27:55):
around here in the market for along time, the great Doug Sherman,
agent Penkowski Sam did that air Bythe way, y out is that still
in the can the piece they didwith you about mental health. I don't
watch television. It's not gonna helpmy comparison here. But let's say,
for instance, CBS six College youand said, Hey, this is an
accomplished station, We've got a richtradition. We want you to be the
next sports director for television for thisstation. We've already interviewed three people what

(28:22):
you just did with that scenario.I feel like you'd feel different because you're
not a television anchor or reporter. You're a team president of a football team
in a radio host. So that'swhy it feels different for JJ rec comparison
to Mark fe like. I agree. I said it like coaching the Lakers
is one of the best coaching jobsfor a head coach. JJ Rex's not
a coach, so he probably doesn'thave that same connection. Like imagine somebody

(28:45):
teaches, if he wants to bea coach, if you want, he
sounds like he's interesting. But it'sweird when you cross fields because like,
let's say you're a teacher and say, what offers you an amazing gig to
be the sales lead for a business. It's one of the best sales gigs.
Yeah, but I'm not a salesman. I'm a teacher, firefighter,
police officer, radio host. Tellit. If it's not what you do
for a living, you may noteven view it in that same way in

(29:07):
comparison to somebody who's been cut infilm for the last five years or been
hanging out in gym's okay, Butrecruiting a sixteen year old for the for
the purpose of this conversation, assumehe wants the job. Assume he wants
to be the likeer head coach.Again, the Dan Hurley thing, shouldn't
that shouldn't be the deal break. It's got to come out with the money,

(29:27):
right, because they're not giving himseventy first time head coach. You're
not getting seventy million dollars. Andthis is what also is a little complicated
by this because he is a formerplayer, like a head coach, in
comparison to NBA players, makes farless money. I would guess that JJ
Reddicks probably in his life, madeseventy million dollars. I don't know how
he spent it. But if you'rean ex play like Jason Kid's probably the

(29:51):
best example of this. But JasonKidd went right into coaching. Is it
a harder to motivated athlete who's madethat much money with money? I think
it's easier to motivate a coach whohas been grind I need to hope to
that big deal. But here's here'sthe This is why I'm saying it can't
be that much less. It's that'syour new scoreboard, Like you know what
I mean. Like, once you'rethe coach, the scoreboard becomes the actual

(30:11):
scoreboard. You want to win games, championships, all that stuff. But
right now, as an individual,as a man, that money's a scoreboard.
There's a reason that boss is highlyfrowned upon you telling your coworkers how
much you make because just in case, you make more than everyone else.
Now I was gonna go to belike, what the hell, how come
Goz makes all that money? Ido this, I do that. I'm

(30:33):
I'm important, I should make more. Like if I'm JJ Reddick, I
know that I was your second choice, or third or fourth whatever ends up
being. Uh, but I alsoknow those other choices said no. So
I do have a little leverage here. You know. Let's and I might

(30:53):
be the only guy you've got thatLebron likes. Everybody else is gonna get
chased out of here. If Lebronwants to play with JJ Reddick? Is
it one year? Two years? Is it? Here's the deal, JJ,
if you want to be the headcoach of the Lakers, there's one
stipulation. You have to draft Bronnie. Right, we'll never know. Maybe

(31:15):
I wonder if that's what the conversationshave been. Hey, Dan Hurley,
we offer you a ton of money. Here's the stipulation, you have to
draft Bronnie. Now I'm not doingit that well, well, these are
fully guaranteed, right, So soyeah, okay, I'll draft him.
I want six years, seventy milliondollars, and I want if you clipped
me after two years, I stillget seventy million dollars. I think most

(31:37):
of it until I can move outof California. I hope guys are smart
enough and maybe they're blinded by themoney, but hopefully especially coaches, maybe
not so much JJ Reddick, buthe seems like a smart guy that if
you can see to the you haveto draft Bronnie. Take the next one's
going to be you have to playBronnie. Then the next one is you
have to start Bronnie. Then thefinal one is you have to pay Bronnie.

(32:00):
Well, the but Broni's leverage goesaway when Lebron goes away. So
like this year, right, wellright right, But I mean and if
he if he doesn't listen, Ifhe's good, there's no conversation. Good
good, go go play basketball, young man. But if he stinks,
or if he's just not or ifhe's if he's just middle of the road,
and it's not worth like, yeah, no, he'll get five minutes

(32:21):
a game, Lebron will whatever,we'll he'll he'll get out there. And
then as soon as Lebron leaves,so does Brownie. In my opinion,
like that would be your leverage,is Dad, that's your leverage. That's
what you got. And now Ilook at Rob Polenka and Genie Buss and
everybody, and I go, okay, So here's the deal. I'm gonna
draft this kid. I'm gonna playthis kid. Lebron's gonna be happy.

(32:43):
We're gonna be fine. This yeardoesn't count for me. When you grade
me as the man running this franchiseon the court, you better not great.
You just took away, if we'relucky, my second pick. If
we're unlucky, I had to reachand get this kid in the first all
factor the WNBA into this discussion quickly, but I don't think Brian could compete

(33:04):
there either. The NBA is thehardest league to get into numbers wise,
like the percentage of a player goingfrom college basketball to the NBA is the
most difficult. The WNBA technically isbecause there's less teams, but the NBA
is now second, where it's beensecond since the WNBA has been around.
Now he gets drafted, Now hegets picked. I know that draft class
stinks, but gosh, we're reallygonna get to a moment here later this

(33:28):
month that a player, because hisdad is Lebron James, an average less
than eight points a game at USCand got injured and had a heart problem.
He's going to be a second roundpick in the NBA at worst.
Some have talked about him going inthe late first Yeah, just because his
dad's Lebron. And you know, every single writer in the country, in
the world is going to list everyplayer after that and everyone who succeeds and

(33:51):
makes the starting rosters. Could havehad this one, could have had this
one, could have had this one. There's gonna be a mental gymnastics going
on to Lebron's gonna be like,Look, I was the chosen one.
I was on the cover when Iwas sixteen. Brownie, your story is
different. You're the underdog. You'redoubted that claw. Good luck Jay,
if you get the job or ifyou want the job. The vac guys
coming up, Uh to the dump. I have no idea what we're gonna

(34:13):
do yet, we'll figure it out. Coming up, it's the bad guys.
Fox Sports Radio ninety five, nineeighty. I'm Maria Kondakova in our
Made Silver and our new podcast,Risky Business, is a show about making
better cause on the Voice of theCapitol Regions Sports Fan Fox Sports ninety five,
nine and nine eighty. The ThursdayThursday, Yes, Uh in the

(34:37):
Toy Studio. Who Thursday done?Yet It's not done? Okay? We
did not done. We got wegot got the dump dump That's where everything
falls to. I I don't knowwhy these articles always like. I guess
maybe it's the old like morning showradio guy that that brings these things to
my attention. But I really likewhenever, all right, See if I'm

(34:58):
watching YouTube with some may go youwon't believe this creepy camp video, I'm
like, I'm watching that, allright, let's see what happened? What
happened? I said, that's somelady else I see, I'm like,
I'm out. I don't want towatch this anymore. And then I see
a list like signs red flags thatmean you should move on from your mate,
and I'm like, I'm like,I want to read that, But

(35:20):
when's the last time you dated?Uh? Probably five six years ago?
Yeah? Yeah, yeah you yeah, you're you're a red flag? Okay,
but here ask men put together alist of the top red flags that
tell you that you're with someone youshould probably hit the road from. Are
they? Are they? Now?As a guy who's been blessed enough or

(35:44):
should I say worked hard enough tobe in one committed relationship almost his entire
life, do you see any redflags? Out there, like the episode
of How I Met Your Mother whereyou hear the glass break and everybody realized
and that's when you realize the personsucks, like when you finally see it.
Do you see red flags out there? Is there something like when you're
with people you're like, ooh,do you see the way so and so

(36:06):
did such and such so and soshoal dump them? I would say because
of my wonderful marriage, And I'mnot being sarcastic with that, I'm being
serious. I would say I thinkthere's a lot more red flags because I've
I've had it very easy, havea wonderful wife. So I think I'm
mister red flag when it comes torelationships. But I could be wrong with
the fact I think this list couldalter the way I think about this.
Okay, these are these are signsthat, like you know, when you're

(36:30):
in that gray area when you thinkyou know, I don't know what I
should do. These are ones theysay don't ignore these. Okay, uh,
let's let's work through them. I'mgonna start with with with number one,
and I've I've I completely believe thisone. How they treat servers people
who are rude to servers, serviceworkers in restaurants, stores, or wherever

(36:52):
is a dead giveaway on how theytreat people they view as beneath them,
and it could one day be youor someone you care about. I have
a hundred percent agree with that becauseI mean I worked in you know,
in kitchens, I've worked in diningrooms, catering, and I will tell

(37:13):
you that anyone who's ever like onehundred percent rude toeya or or or talks
down to you simply because you're theone bringing their food. A, they're
idiots because I can do whatever Iwant that food when you're not looking.
And B that's who they are. They treat people they view as last day.
They treat you as a punching bagbecause they can't do it to people

(37:34):
that they think are better than them. That's a hundred big red flag.
If somebody's meaning to a server.I remember like one one woman I was
dating, going, oh, hewon't complain. He's nice to every server.
Whenever I'm like one hundred percent complain, I just do it respectfully for
a few reasons. One don't wantto spin my food. Two I've been
there, and three the server isn'tthe one who made the food. You

(37:55):
know what I mean. It's like, if you're nice to them, they
might fix it. I'm with youon that, by the way. I
think I'm glad that's high on thatlist. Yeah, I'm one hundred percent,
one hundred percent there. Okay, how about they never disagree? It's
a big red flag conflict isn't somethingyou should avoid. A healthy relationship will

(38:15):
have back and forth moments that forceyou both to grow together. You're either
getting You're either getting a doormat ora ticking time bomb that is eventually going
to blow up in your face.I don't know if I understand that one
as well. Like so for instance, like if you're in a relationship,
they just always say, hey,my favorite team is this, my favorite
restaurant's this. You don't know ifyou can trust them. You don't know

(38:37):
if you're constantly matching on the samethings, or do they feel like there's
a cover of like, oh,they're just lying constantly to appease you.
I guess because I just asked thosequestions that it is called the red flag
guys. So yeah, you knowwhat, Yes, I would agree with
that one as well. Twenty fourto seven. If you're always together,

(38:58):
You've got nothing to talk about outand it can it gets suffocating. I
I think, like I I.We have friends we call the cardinals because
if you ever do it, ifyou ever notice, like if you ever
see a female cardinal, you'll seea male cardinal. The females are the
darker colored ones. The males arethe bright color because they have to try

(39:19):
to entice me, Like, cardinalsare always together. So we have a
couple of call them the cardinals.Somehow it works. But nine times out
of ten, if you never getaway from each other, you will end
up painting each other. Doud youhave none to talk about? What are
gonna talk? What are you gonnado? I get really nervous about people
like that. I feeling I'm actuallygetting like weird goosebumps hearing this, Like
oh God, are there's people existingout there that can't get away from their

(39:42):
significant other and just always want tobe on top of each other? Like
ooh yeah, that's that what Ifelt. Not because of people I know,
but like there are people who dothat. Huh uh yeah, I
would definitely say that's a red flag. Are Yeah, it's and it's like
it's out by it and it's oneof those things too, Like when you
fall into that trap earlier, earlyin the relationship, it's hard to get

(40:04):
out of it. Like it's likeall of a sudden, you go,
hey, you know, why don'tyou hang with your friends? Will hang
on mine? Why do you hateme? Okay, look all right,
I gotta go come out. Thatwas a very polite way to say.
She's got some wrong with him,he's got some wrong with him. What
do you mean you want other peoplein our lives? How about zero responsibility?
This is uh, we're all humans, which means we're all susceptible to

(40:25):
screwing up. Someone who won't owntheir stuff and take responsibility for when they
are doing something wrong has an issuewith maturity. They may be a narcissist.
The other ones I feel like youcould survive with like the other situations
with the fred flags, you couldgo through relationships for years with that one.
That's the first immediate shut it down, Shut it down, like,

(40:49):
I'm not dealing with this. Idon't want to voluntarily continue this relationship.
If this is how I'm gonna actor find you acting, Bye see ya.
The double red flag in the air, let's shut this one down.
I don't know, I wouldn't getinto a relationship with that, Like that's
usually you can catch that pretty early, Like usually that's the one like second
date. At worst, you're gettinglike that vibe of like, and I'll

(41:13):
call it out, like I don'tknow if like we maybe something wrong with
me, I'll just be like, hey, you ever know you never run
And how they react to that willusually usually let you know that whether they
get it or they don't. Peoplewho keep you at a distance, it's
not not in common in the beginning, but over time you should be more
involved in each other's life. Iftime goes by and you still find yourself

(41:36):
being kept out of certain aspects oftheir existence, it's not unreasonable to wonder
what's going on and you're not supposedto know what part is This was you
and I you were very you keptyou did not want to let me in
in the beginning, and like tothe point where like you hid Jordan from
me and and my Inn the otherco host at the time. You like

(42:00):
the show would end and like godswould go, batman smoke, pellet gone,
and even like when he was gonnameet us for dinner, he would
get lost air quote on the wayI'm following you? Why am I not
at Hooters? Well, because I'mat Hooters, so you're obviously not following
me. What Like, yeah, you were a tough nut to crack,
but once you did, like nowwe're boys. But like, yeah,

(42:22):
there was a moment I was like, what's this dude hiding? Like I
thought you were noncommittal to this andobviously you are the area you're good with
that. I do enjoy that youand I have now finally cracked the relationships
of what's happened. I did enjoythat set of like you and I are
in a relationship like married couples oreverything else. Yeah, I guess there
should have been anything, But thatone's the hardest one you've given me so

(42:43):
far, because I think early inrelationships, do you have to be vulnerable
like that to people? Do youhave to give everybody everything like you know?
Not? I don't think in mymind, I don't think I was
trying to be sneaky or hide things. I think it was just like I'm
doing my own thing, Like whywould you care about these things? Some
people but would probably have that mindset, But I understand why people would be
concerned of why, at this pointin your relationship don't you want to share

(43:06):
stuff with me? That was thehardest for me to grasp. It's when
it's when you do it. Butagain, like you're you're in a different
position than a lot of us.Like I think, by you and you
and your wife finding each other soearly, you've only had to do that
once, So that kind of makessense to me. Here, here's what
all right, I'm actually just gonnaapply this to us. I see another

(43:28):
red flag with you. Oh,I'm getting close. I'm getting close to
dumping you. Keeping away from friendsand family. No one likes feeling like
they're being hidden or that they're asecret, and you shouldn't accept it either.
Life's too short to feel like you'rewith someone who feels the need to
hide you away, or even worse, trying to coax you into spending less
time with your friends and family. You refuse to introduce me to your sister.

(43:54):
You almost never bring your sister inlaws around. What is wrong with
me? Thomas? They don't livehere. My sister lives in Syracuse.
The sister laws we're never here.Isn't one of your sister in laws live
with you now? Well, yeah, I had to fly to Las Vegas
to hang out with your sister inlaw. Thomas. One does live in

(44:17):
all me, but far away fromme. Life is different now. They're
all busy. They got jobs andjobs and stuff like they're only one of
them is in a relationship. Ido Wow, I can work on that
one. That's wait, they're singletoo. Wow, you suck. You're
terrible. Here's another there's another redflag support? Huh. There's nothing that

(44:40):
says someone has to like everything yousay or do. But when you notice
a pattern where it seems that everysuccess or interest that comes your way is
met with a cold response, itcould be a sign they feel threatened by
you, by your personal growth orsense of accomplishment. That's the problem.
Why have I not Why have wenot had a conversation with the bosses about

(45:00):
making this official in full time?Guys? Why are you afraid to make
Why won't you support me in thatfight? I'm always supportive of you,
Levac. I just certain things Ican't make decisions on. Some things are
above my head. I've been veryWe should go fight it together. I
have a story here in the dumps, the one more just plain mean,
and for that I apologize. Soyou know what, when you turn it

(45:27):
into about us, it's like, originally I was like, this is kind
of interesting to me how they treatservers. Gods is always nice to server,
So that's not a red lie.I am. Also, I tip
you don't tip well, tip fine, I tip average, I don't I
tip fine. They never disagree. You constantly disagree, even if I know
you secretly agree. We are nottogether twenty four seven. That's good.
Zero responsibility. You're pretty good atthat. I guess you're all right there.

(45:51):
Yeah, but a lot of it, a lot of it are red
flags. Man, if I was, if I was to judge our relationship
by what ask men suggests, we'reon iffy ground. It's fifty fifty around
here, buddy, I'd put usat seventy thirty. That I should bail
now. That Big Twelve exploring sellingnaming rights to their title sponsor. I
got three minutes before I got toget out of here. No, we're

(46:13):
doing well. The back we're doingwell. You have any what do you
find you said this? Didn't yousay this that at one point a team
should be sponsored by an entire league? Did you say this, take like
this should be the Sienna Saints Athletics, brought to you by under Armour.
Yeah, how about you had thisidea Nike university, you said, Oregon,
don't even call it, like, yes, Sienna. Yeah, the

(46:35):
Big twelve's doing this, accordiated reports, the Big Twelves exploring selling it's naming
rights to a title sponsor, whichpotentially could be the biggest commercial licensing deal
in the history of NCAA athletics. So the name would potentially take the name
Big out of the Big twelve andreplace it with the sponsor's name. So
rather than it being called the Bigtwelve, it'd be called, uh,
the Lilian David twelve or the Mohawkhand to twelve. That's a lot of

(47:00):
money. It's a way to getmoney though, well why not? And
like it's the world of sports whereagain the Yankees were on TV just a
little while ago. Right, they'vegot star on their on their sleeves,
Like the most iconic uniform in thehistory of sports now has a logo on
it. Every stadium in arenas hasa name, Like every you're almost it's

(47:22):
almost admitting your product sucks. Ifyou don't sponsor it. That's kind of
where it's at now. So ifthat's more money, you know, and
again, are we gonna start treatingcollege athletes the way we treat the NFL
athletes where we cut the pie up, Well, this kid's gonna make more
money. Let's go. We gottaget out of here cause you know,

(47:42):
and Rich is on the way next. By the way, don't forget tomorrow's
show. We got four big guestscoming on. Michael Chaick Carrico from the
Triple A Syracuse Mets coach Damon whereit's a Firebird Friday five o'clock takeover,
Andrew Santillo's gonna join us. Ourguy Justin latt is gonna stick it into
the show too. So we've gota lot coming up on Tomorrow's Friday.
Additional of aknas. Have a great, great weekend. See everybody at the

(48:04):
Firebirds game except for Guz. Washyour hands, don't touch your face.
