Carmelo Anthony. You know he wouldbe not needed, he'd be on there.

how much better Luca was than Carmelo. Kept saying that Luca is a better

overall player because he's a better passer, and he's a little bit more aggressive,
and he gets to the basket ofCarmelo a back to the basket player
turn around, like I don't.He's also probably more pressure on him legacy
wise than Carmelo to get a championship. Okay, I like that part.
Okay, Well, why is theremore pressure on him though? Because if
you argue that lucas better than Carmelo, then you could go back to the

championship? Like if you think Luca'sbetter than Carmelo, then Luca would be
up higher on that list of betterbest player, not to win the title.
I think they're both products of theirtime though, Like Mellow was an

at Shaker Elementary School, I'm surethat's not the name of it, but
if you're at one of these elementaryschools here locally, that means when you
were Blue Creek, Latham Ridge,we are a fifth grader at one of
those schools, you went from yourfifth grade year until a freshman year in

College of having the same player inthe NBA finals. That's a big gap
Lebron of obviously talking about like that'sa big gap in sports of nobody else.
But and then over the last coupleof years, we had COVID and
we had the Warriors, and thenwe had the Warriors again. But I
wonder if, like now the nationaltalk like NBA talk when we talk about

the NBA people who don't know whatto do with this twenty twenty four Celtic
team. Are they one of thegreat Celtic teams of all time? No?
Are they one of the best teamsrecently in NBA history? Statistically maybe
you can say yes, But Iwouldn't put them in a five on five
matchup so because they're not the greatestteam ever, because they're not the greatest
Celtic team ever, because Lebron andSteph Curry aren't on the roster that's supposed

to make their championship feel less likethat seems to be what's happening here.
They're not boring. They're not aboring team body stretch, the games were
boring because they were so dominant.I believe only the Golden State Warriors lost
less games in a postseason run thanthis Celtic team, which is an incredible
stat. But that's what it feelsweird today, like it's the Boston Celtics,

the tradition, the most championships.They passed the Lakers for most titles
ever won by the NBA team.But you and I we didn't talk about
greatness or legacy with any of thoseCeltic players. It was this one's hard
to figure out. It should beshot to Tatum and Brown and poor Zingis
and Holiday and how they fired theirhead coach and still won a championship seasons

after it happened. It's just kindof hard to figure out. Not take
anything away from them, but Ithink it's more about what we've seen in
what thirty five years of evaluating championswhen it comes to the NBA, I
think I think I have to lookat them as a generational talent, a
generational team, not just because JasonTatum and Jaylen Brown. I mean,

that's obviously two huge pieces of thepuzzle. Brad Stevens, like you mentioned
it, you get you got acoach who's never done anything at a D
one level. You know, youyou blow a guy out that Nobody,
nobody to this day is willing tofully speak about why you got rid of
him. You replace him. Youknow, with this guy, he ends

up being the right guy for thejob. I go back to the to
the Porzinkis trade. I remember saying, I don't know how you do this
without Marcus Smart. He's your defensivedow Oh but guess what so is Jalen
Brown? Jaylen Brown? You putOh you don't want Kyrie to Gordon night,
Okay, I'll go on him.Oh you want Luca Lukima tonight,
Okay, I'll go on him.Like like Brad Stevens sees the bigger picture

and he's going to make one ortwo small adjustments to this team. And
they're me right back after Remember twoyears ago they lolllicate they should have it.
Three years ago they will they shouldhave it. And right now,
when you look at the Eastern Conference, who's the team that really threatens them?
Unless onto the Coopos was one hundredpercent or m beats one hundred percent,
they don't. They're not gonna doit. The Knicks still need a

piece and to be healthy in thepostseason, which they haven't able to do
yet. But like, right now, if you told me I have to
pick who is going to who isgoing to represent the Eastern Conference in the
NBA Finals next year? Right now, how do you not take the Celtics?
Who's the team? Every other team? I go, all right,
I need this to happen, orthis to happen with the Celtics. I

just like, hey, if theyshow up, I think it's gonna work.
I would take the Celtics too,the day after their celebration and championship
everything else. However, there's abit I almost feel like we undercut the
Knicks there for a second. Let'stalk about that Nick team, that Nick
roster, because you said they needanother piece, and I'm not necessarily thinking
that's wrong, but for the firsttime in a long time, we can

swing the narrative a little bit onthis Nick team that was successful in saying
it's not so much about not havingan extra piece, although would be wonderful
they weren't healthy. Like, whatif that Nick team was actually healthy?
What if you had Randall? Whatif you had one hundred percent Brunson.
What if you had a big guydownload that could make place. What if
the guys that you had og likewhat if the guys who actually made moves

for when they were winning games toplaying the best basketball and we're the best
team out of the field or court. I'm watching a baseball game up here
on the court actually lived it up. Because if we're gonna do the Celtics
or the best team heading to thetwenty twenty four twenty twenty five season,
and I get it's June eighteenth,but by July eighteenth, by October eighteenth,

if Boston is the team to beat, well that it's been a long
time since we could sit here theday after at NBA Championships in one and
say this is the closest to theKnicks have been to potentially knocking off the
Eastern Conference champion. This is theclosest to the New York Knicks have been
to potentially beating an NBA champion.A lot can happen, especially in the

NBA offseason between now and tip offof the twenty twenty four to twenty twenty
five season. But Nick fan cansay, what if we were healthy,
we would have played Indiana. Wewould have gone maybe to a game seven.
We could have beat Indiana, andwe would have had an opportunity to
take on the Celtics today. Theybeat us in that one, then we'll
know what we want. But Nick, Fan, I would feel more encouraged

than discouraged about the Celtics winning becauseyou've got an excuse, what if we
were healthy? Yeah, it sucksto the team that you root against the

be a lot of changes between nowand then. But if you everybody else,

think as long as you got JaalenBrown and and and Jason Tatum, and
then you put a cast around them. I mean, Al Horford's gonna play
till he's what seventy five? Man, you look like you found the found
of youth, didn't You didn't looklike the same. Al Horford probably put
himself in the Hall of Fame nowwith the championship and the longevity of his

about this team like, Okay,they won a title, so be it,

the history of the sport, youcould find other things to complain about.

the pressure on them the build upto this moment, that they've always been
good and looking to take the nextstep. The offense is far more efficient.
