Speaker 1 (00:01):
Time for the kick starter. Thank you, that's nice. I
just I kept seeing all these posts about people trying
to wally pip my ass, so uh it didn't work. Okay,
it just didn't work either either I'm better than you thought,
or you're not as good as one of your co
hosts actually threatened to have my cat kidnapped. Things got

(00:24):
a little desperate later in the week. It went. It
was a thing. I mean, we got some talking to
you about these people wanting my job. But let's start
with the c DTA kickstarter of where c DT a
dot or getting you connected to what matters? Let's start
with number ten, d d P. Dupless I love this dude,
but I cannot say his name. Saved my life. He uh,

(00:46):
he is the real deal. At UFC three oh five,
Duplesses took out the Airbender himself out of Sonia. I mean,
this was a fight that I The only thing I
didn't predict is when it would end. I predicted who
who would do it. I actually printed how he would

(01:08):
do it. I was like, that's a long shout. I
don't think you're choking out the Airbender. But in the
fourth round, d DP bang takes out the airbender with
a rear naked choke. They had their pants on those,
so it's okay, but we're.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Coming on hot to timon Cutter, timon Dallas Page, I
don't know if you caught this this, I won't keep
doing this all show, I promise. But leading up to
that fight, Israel Attasani in the press conference crying while
they were talking smack to each other. I've never seen
it before.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
I didn't see that. And yeah, you can say as
much as you want, because yeah, I spent a lot
of time with a mouse over the last week, and
and uh and talking dogs and a lot of a
lot of French, a lot of Canadians. Uh yeah, I learned.
I learned no words. But uh yeah. So but no,
I didn't see him cry, but he definitely does not
seen himself. He's he seems mentally different.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Israel Asni was the prospect, the blue chipper, the five star,
like this is the next guy in the UFC, And
to was Kredick. He's a champion and he's been super popular.
It's just that mental side of it. It's like whoo,
I didn't think we had to figure that part out.
We know you're athletically and physically gifted in the octagon,
but maybe not as dominant as the champion as people
had hoped. And I think it's as much mental as
he pointed out, as it is physical with him.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
I mean, it's it's it takes its toll. You're getting punched,
it ahead for a living, and you know it is
a popularity contest to a you know, to a degree,
not as much of a popularity contest as number nine.
When it is back on. They had the press conference
the relaunch, if you will, Mike Tyson versus Jake Paul

(02:44):
November fifteenth, They going can't get along, They go and
get it own on Netflix. Tyson looks completely unbothered, to
the point where I'm starting to get nervous if this
is a work.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Every time I hear that date November fifteenth, I keep
thinking about, Okay, baby number three is due on the seventeenth.
Likely he's gonna come on the fourteenth. Can I get
Netflix in the delivery room? Can I, like, while we're
hanging out there in the hospital, can I get a
nurse to roll in a television old school like a
substitute teacher in school and throw on Tyson Paul?

Speaker 1 (03:16):
Can you just have a laptop?

Speaker 2 (03:18):
Can I just have it left? Is that a risky
game telling my wife, I know we have a newborn,
but give me a couple of minutes.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
I think in the process of delivery you will get
knocked out if you try to watch the fight. But
if in the time of mom and baby are relaxing
and resting post delivery or pre delivery, I think you
you'd pull the laptop open. Only you got this on.
But you need something, let me know and I'll put

(03:45):
it down in a second.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
Now I'm gonna get on my high horse and tell
these non parents how it goes. Look, this is baby
number three for me. That newborn is gonna be knock
on woods, sleeping a lot. You're exactly right, Leveck. There's
gonna be a lot of downtime here for the next
twenty four to seventy two hours, and I will enjoy it,
because when there's three kids in my house, that downtime
is no longer a thing.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
You know, he's got a lot of downtime. R G three,
that's right, Robert Griffin third fired by ESPN along with
Sam Ponder. I know this happened while I was away,
but RG three just just today posted answers coming soon
on his YouTube.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
Stop being a madman on social media. I know those
jokes are really funny, those double entendres he did during
the broadcast. I think RG three has a career media still.
He might need to be on Showtime or HBO. I
think he really at one point was like, what can
I say? And I won't get fired for he found
out A croissant joke got him?

Speaker 1 (04:41):
I think he also. I think Jason Kelsey got him.
I think Pat McAfee got him. I think guys who
can do his stick better than him got him. But no, Yeah,
I like the idea of him going somewhere else. I
think he could. If he was smart, he would go
kiss the ring at barstool right away and see what

(05:02):
Uncle Dave would be willing to pay him to say
those kind of jokes with them all the time, because
something tells me it would go over pretty well at barstool.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
He's pretty funny. I don't know if you guys do
play by play, let him do his thing. Yeah, pub
should do this. Prus should be a radio.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
Ho oh easy, another guy I wants damn job all right?
Number seven? How about the Mets versus the Mariners in
next year's Little League Classic. It brings up Mets loss
last night. Not the biggest of deals. They've been playing decent,
not against the Mariners. Good think they're not doing it
this year because the Mariners swept the Mets in the
three game series that they had this year. But Little

(05:36):
League Classic very cool. We'll talk more of that coming up.
Mets gonna get a chance to be a part of it.
I think that's very cool. If there was ever a
reason beyond baseball to sign Pete Alonzo, it would be
watching those little kids gather around big old pie Alonzo
the way they did. Aaron Judge. So, Mets Mariners, Little
League Classic. I like the Classic. I like that they're

(05:57):
gonna get a chance to do it.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
Levac likes it. I like it. And you hear that
Rob Manfred hater, you know you like it? You know
I felt like Kurkcussin's.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
You like that? Huh? Come on?

Speaker 2 (06:08):
Kids learning about how are you wearing chains? Kids learning
about baseball enjoying the sport. Guess his idea was Rob
Manfred's give that man credit. I'm I'm now a Rob Manfred,
stand you are? You've gone a complete turn every time.
This guy's a great idea. Give that man some love.

Speaker 1 (06:25):
You've dismounted his money, all right. So, speaking of the mets,
how about we leave Halle Walsh alone? How about we
back off? Thank you? How about we back off the girl?
All right? So if you don't know a hawk to
a girl, this has been going on all week now.
It has not stopped yet. We are still crushing this
girl for throwing out the first pick at the end
of last week all weekend. I've heard about it all weekend.

(06:47):
She's terrible. They're terrible. For it was camp day, which
maybe the should have thought about that. That was a little weird.
But how about and well, oh, how all the shout
I explained to not beautiful Christine child, how this woman
has gathered her fifteen minutes of fame? How about you
say it's the internet it socks, don't look it up.
But I will tell you this. She spent a ton

(07:09):
of money on dogs and cats and animals that need
to be adopted and providing for pet clinics and stall it.
She's using her fifteen minutes of fame for good. How
about you tell your kids that? And let's not pretend
Mets fan that if they hadn't lost that game, you
wouldn't be up here going grimmers, Jay Bryant and Hawk too,
and we're gonna win a world series.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
I love how you opened it with Hailey Welsch. That's
how she'll be referred to on the show from now on.
You help people in the South called certain women miss
like Miss Terry is Nick Saban's wife, It is Miss
Haley Welsh on this show from now right.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
That's right, she will be giving her respect. She's the
most famous person in the word that we know right now,
and we don't even know her.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Also, I found out while you were gone. We talked
about that a little bit. But I also was team
miss Haley Welsh. Found out a lot of uncles and
grandparents and dads didn't know what Hawk to a girl was.
It's been an interesting chat. I like reaction videos. If
you want to film your older men watching the video
while people got caught off guard.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
I found out.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
Sorry about that, or maybe not sorry about it.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
It is what it is. It is what it is.
It's listen. I'm gonna get you getting drunk and put
a camera fast massive questions. Let's see what happens. Okay,
let's see what your fame, see how your fame changes. Okay,
all right, leave the girl alone. She's doing good with
her time, and and we'd be done talking about her
if you guys were done talking about her moving out
of number five with the cd TA kickstarter. How about

(08:29):
the Bills winning nine three over the Steelers in preseason football.
Steelers steal looks solid. Steelers QB not so much. I
still think they're in a lot of trouble this year
for the Bills, no one played like Thurman Thomas carried
the ball four times like it was No one played

(08:49):
for the Bills. Very few people played for the steelerstuf
for the fact that we got to see both quarterbacks
and either one of them looks that impressive to me.
Steelers are in trouble. Bills are gonna be fun.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
I didn't get a lot of storylines from this game,
because I'm one big fat storyline. I got big old
chunker linebacker number forty four in reason if you don't
know his story, he's a kid from Buffalo, played for
the Buffalo Bulls. Really probably just got signed to be
out there. Hey in nice story press will give us
some love sign the local kid. Then Matt Mulano gets hurt.

(09:20):
He had a game, and you know how you know
he has a game, not because of the Buffalo media.
When you're the most watched person on Brian Baldinger's Baldy breakdowns,
that's about as good as a compliment as you can get.
When an NFL guy who breaks down tape says, who
is his in reason kid? The Buffalo team signed and
Baldinger's talking about you. I hope he makes the roster.

(09:41):
Now you can't bring him up? Yes, that is ever, dude,
So there you go.

Speaker 1 (09:46):
I mean again, I just I've got faith in what
the Bills do. They become that team that you know,
like there was for the longest time the Ravens, Like,
how are you gonna keep winning when you keep losing
your best defensive an offensive lineman a free agency every year?
Oh you just gonna draft any Oh oh you just
gonna just gonna promote them with it. Okay, cool, that's yeah.
I mean, if you're gonna do it every year, I mean,

(10:07):
that's that's who the Bills are be coming to me.
The Bills just they just run a smart football team.
I have zero worries about them at four not a ton,
but I'm a little concerned. Giants lose twenty eight ten
to the Texans. Dale Jones looks uninspiring, two picks, including
a pick six. I will say it was his first
live action since the ACL so uh good to see

(10:30):
him out there. Didn't look great. Malik Dabers looks sick,
he looks awesome, he looks as advertised. But Giants fans,
I know we're gonna tell more about Danel Jones, probably
very very soon. Breathe, Just breathe through it for now,
Just breathe through it.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
You just left a nice plate of an appetizer out there.
I'm showing self control. I want to dive into that,
but I'll give it like ten more minutes. I got
a lot from a preseason game from Texans Giants, and
I think a lot of acts that a little bit
Giant fan.

Speaker 1 (10:58):
There is things to be concerned.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
I promised myself it wouldn't happen, but there are certain
things I just cannot defend that happened over the weekend
with Big Blue.

Speaker 1 (11:07):
All right, Well, how about Gang Green is they won
fifteen to twelve over the Panthers Again, No one played,
no one. I mean, I don't know any of these
people that played for the Jets. I think it was
the Winnipeg Jets. I don't know, I don't know it was.
But a lot of field goals, a lot of ugly football.
The only touchdowns, matter of fact, was from the Panthers

(11:30):
at like the end of the game, like it was
just worthless, worthless, worthless, But it was football.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
The words that keep coming to me involving Jets football
is gym class. Because whatever school you went to, whatever
grades you were in, there were some gym classes where
you had the true gym class heroes, people going as
hard as they could as if it was the World
Series or the Super Bowl. And then sometimes he hit
a grade where actually no one did anything and they
barely were moving like sloss out there.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
It didn't even get changed for Jim.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
It feels like the second one, the old gym teacher,
are you prepared?

Speaker 1 (12:03):
Yes, are you gonna do anything?

Speaker 2 (12:05):
No, that's the Jets right now, the senior and gym
class who doesn't want to be there.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
Yeah, it's and then you have like Rogers out there. Well,
I don't know if I get to play, I don't know,
if I'm allowed, I don't know. Let's ask other people
questions and cause them trouble. Well, all right, we're gonna
getting close to real football. We are ever ever so close.
Let's talk about that Little League Classic, Blue League World

(12:31):
Series Classic going on with number two. We got through
New York Yankees. They you can't just look pedestrian. They don't.
They look great one night, eh, not so great last night.
They lost in front of a bunch of little leaguers.
Let's just call what it is. They were the team
that everybody's excited to meet. And there's a moment where I'm
told about this because obviously I would never listen to

(12:53):
another station. Susan Wallman takes like a little girl down
there because she only girls playing, and she's getting part
of the yank He's celebratory handshake line, and they're up
one nothing and everything looks fine, and then play Homes
blows another saved. Playholmes bows his tenth save of the year.
Play Homes is trash, straight straight trash. We'll talk more
about Ken. If you want to be angry at the

(13:17):
New York Yankees, if you want to be angry at
Brian Cashman, you can look at one position and say
you thought that was good and it's closer?

Speaker 2 (13:28):
When was he ever good?

Speaker 1 (13:30):
Like Clay Holmes? He's okay, he's an all star.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
I don't even think it's the Revere thing at this point.
I don't think it's the Chatman thing at this point.
But tantas like there have been guys who have had
strong arms and everyone said they don't have to.

Speaker 1 (13:41):
Be a Hall of Famer. How about just good?

Speaker 2 (13:43):
How about just decent?

Speaker 1 (13:44):
How about okay?

Speaker 2 (13:46):
I've never been a Clay Holmes fan, and I don't
know how much longer Brian Cash is going to keep
the thin in this guy.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
Well, I mean Boone came out. We have full support,
and again, well, what are you gonna do now? You
know you're I highly doubt you got a closer sitting
down in the miners ready to come up. Chapman through
one oh five the other day for the Pirates travel
more time. I heard I heard one person ask whether
or not the current lighter kid that's on the team

(14:12):
or al lighter who would be more beneficial of the
team right now, right now? All right? The number one baby.
One week until College Game Day, one week until Fox
Big Noon, kickoff. That's right, my friends, college foosball Bobby

(14:32):
Bouchet is coming. That's just like listen, I got a
little morsel of the NFL. That's school. That's all right.
Ho my, like, that's free season. I get to watch it.
I'm a Raiders fan. Not exactly thrilled with the way
things are progressing this offseason as far as quarterback play goes,
but it is where it is. It's all right, It's okay.
Do you know why college foosball is coming? And between

(14:53):
the video game and everything else is going on in
the world, I am so fired up and ready.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
For college football about this week zero, this weekend, by
the way, coming up in the five o'clock hour, my
top twenty five poll has been released. I know you've
been sitting through Disney thinking, oh, when will guys give
us his top twenty five A lot.

Speaker 1 (15:11):
I didn't know, because I would have left. I would
have jumped into whatever pool of open water that could
have control had gators in it, and I would have
made my way here.

Speaker 2 (15:21):
You better be locked in on this podcast. You better
be right at your radios at five point fifteen or
five twenty depending out.

Speaker 1 (15:27):
It's coming out. It's already live on Fox wors I
gotta get your reaction to that.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
Week zero. Then the following Thursday, more college, then more college,
then NFL and levack. How about this will make you
feel even better? Next Monday is your birthday? Is one
week from today's your birthday. Then the following week is
our NFL season preview show.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
So then the next true.

Speaker 2 (15:47):
Time, September ninth, when we do a CDTA kickstarter that's
not on your birthday, it'll be nothing but Week one NFL,
in Week two college football.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
Drink it in. Like Chris Jericho once said, it's almost tier.
I am so fired up. College football is my second
favorite thing to watch right now because the Yankees again
our pedestrian. But man oh man, here we go. Let's
get after it. Let's have some fun. That is your
cd TA kickstarter. Ten stories to get you caught up

(16:22):
from the weekend, brought to you by our good friends

all sincerity as I'm down now, you know, navigating the
area that is Florida, Mickey's Mickey's Rear and Orlando. All
I was thinking about, Man, how much easier in my

(17:03):
life if I could call it is? Pull up the
Navigator app? How do I get from here to here?
How do I get from there to there? How do
I do this? You know? Instead met a lot of
interesting people and road in vehicles that should not have
been considered. Uh xls, I'm just gonna put it there.
When I asked for an XL, I don't want a car, Okay,
When I asked for an XL, I want I want to,
I want to, I want to, I want to. I
want to ask you V You're better? Okay? See CCA

(17:26):
would have known that, they would have had me covered.
C D t A get connected today. Let guys, I
can see it. I saw it like you look like
a cartoon character about to explode. As Daniel Jones' name
was made, it was was brought up. Let's talk big Blue,
Let's talk about Daniel Jones, Lavaca Guys back to Gevin
again on Fox Sports Radio ninety five nine eighty.

Speaker 3 (17:48):
It's Lavac and Guys on ninety five nine Fox Sports.

Speaker 1 (17:51):
Radio, The Show Behind the Show. Sometimes you were ready
for this, I wasn't.

Speaker 4 (17:59):
No, I was.

Speaker 1 (18:00):
I was uncomfortable. I got some isssues with Daniel Jones.
Apparently you're not happy with Dale Jones, Danny Dimes, you've
never liked Dale Jones though. You have never been a
supporter of Daniel Jones ever. And I go back to
the to the game that we all watched on the
bus from the Bronx back and it was the Giants
versus Tampa Bay, your team, and Dale Jones had won

(18:22):
his first good game as a professional.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
I just had this weird glimpse into my future. If
I ever have a daughter, one day, I just felt
like you were mine. You've never liked him, Dad, I
told you eight years ago he was awful, and you
never listened. Girl, if I ever have one, So I
just felt like he did that with these dangers. And
remember the first time you guys met, he broke your heart.
He didn't like such and such and killed your buccaneers

(18:47):
and a terrible kid. Anyways, here's the roma Danel just
on Friday Show, our guy the Closer, Brian Marianna was
in for you. He's a Giant fan. So we tried
figure out what are the realistic expectations if you're a
Giant fan? What you want Daniel Jones? And this sounds
like a very weak answer, but I think it's the
obvious and easiest answer. The answer we both kind of settled.

Speaker 1 (19:08):
On was don't get hurt. Don't get hurt.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
You haven't played since November, it's a preseason game. The
expectations are so low. All you gotta do is go
on the field, hand the ball off a few times,
try not to turn over the football, look healthy, have
the beard look nice, get off the field.

Speaker 1 (19:28):
That's it.

Speaker 2 (19:29):
That's all you had to do. Okay, before I guess
we dive into this. Do you think that take his
fine from Faddy Friday going into the preseason game? The
realistic thing all Daniel Jones had to do was not
get hurt and not look awful.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
That was it? Right?

Speaker 5 (19:44):
Like?

Speaker 2 (19:44):
Should we get expected more out of that going into
the match, Because that was where we set.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
The bar on Friday's show for him. I think not
get hurt is really is really all you can help
hope for, because again, he hasn't seen game speed. If
I'm trying to make him name for myself, I know
that's the dude. I will say this. Part of the
reason that I'm calmer is Brian Dabele like barely reacted
and Brian Dable's fiery on the sideline. He'll play around,

(20:08):
So I think Dable's looking at it going I can
work with that. I can fix this, I got this,
I got this or whatever. I think that is not
what you were hoping to see. But this guy is
not falling. He was fine.

Speaker 2 (20:22):
I saw that first throw where he's going back into
the end zone. I'm like, okay, he's probably gonna take
the sack here. It's gonna be a safety or we've
seen some quarterbacks pull this off before where they're like,
try to throw it and then hope either they get
marked during the safety at the half inch line, because
I actually safeties are a lot harder people realize to
get called or they'll call it grounding and or they won't.

(20:44):
Like there's a few scenarios that could play off at
his head of maybe you'll get grounding maybe you won't
get a safety. Instead, he threw it right in the
Texans guy's chest, basically like what does he do it?

Speaker 6 (20:53):
No, what do you do it?

Speaker 1 (20:56):
Giant Finn?

Speaker 2 (20:57):
These are the days I'm so happy I'm not a
Giant fin because I couldn't if that's gonna happen in
week two or week three. At this point in your
life in your career, you should know that's not a
good throw. You should know you're not gonna throw it
up in the air at the five yard lines. The
other team could run it back for a pick six.
That was bad that this second pick again, you should

(21:19):
just know at this point in your career, hey, we're
either gonna throw this one out of bounce, We're gonna
throw it over his head.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
We're not gonna undersell it.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
And the Texan defender's like, uh okay, I guess it's
gonna fall him out. They were just so awful, And look,
the Internet kills people all the time. This is a
classic viral play. Josh Allen used to have this happen
to him all the time about people would cut up
the bad plays of Josh Allen. This didn't even have
to take that much editing it was like, what happened
on these two throws that on a Monday. I'm on here, like,

(21:47):
don't you know better by now, young daughter? That hasn't
happened it? Haven't you dated enough terrible men to realize
this guy's also terrible? He was so bad back and
I know it's preseason, but all you had to do
was not look terrible, Daniel Jones, and you did it.

Speaker 1 (22:03):
You looked awful terrible. I cannot and will not defend
the product that he has put on the field, except
for to mention it's his first game since an ACL
injury and he hasn't seen anything like this that entire time.

(22:27):
Here's here's how it goes right. I think the Giants
are fine. I think they're fine. I think your defense
is good. You've improved it a lot in the offseason.
Your offensive line is gonna blow your mind. You got
the right the right coach. They brought in David David
Stole my full back, you know, Jacob, I miss you, man,

(22:50):
like I think you're gonna see a lot of improvement.
Here is how this season goes off the rails for
the Giants, because I believe that there's only there's only
two people who can really take it off the rails
for the Giants, and it's Brian Dable and John Marra
because I think if Dabel says to himself, this kid

(23:13):
sinks your swims, and he does it right now and
I don't care what happens next, and he has Dale
Jones trying to make plays that Daliel Jones can't make,
it's gonna get bad. The only reason that he would
do that, in my humble opinion, is if John Merris
sat down and said, hey, you're safe. You're getting another year.
No matter what, You're gonna at least one more year,

(23:34):
maybe two, depend upon how everything goes. I like what
you and Shane have done. You're not going anywhere. Do
what you have to do, all right, Dale Jones, slay it, baby,
Let's go slay it. Let's see if we get down
in two three wins, see what we can do. Let's
see if we can get your replacement this year.

Speaker 2 (23:53):
Bah, keep up the good work, because I'm saying it
makes a lot of sense what you're talking about. His
reaction on the sidelines is spot on here. Theory here,
because if it was a coach whose career was on
the line, or job was on the line, he'd be
screaming in his face and be red.

Speaker 1 (24:05):
That makes a lot unless what he saw, Because there's
things we you and I I don't know if people
don't know this. We only coach on the radio. We
don't actually get the coaches. There's things that Damon ware
sees in a Firebirds practice that I go, oh, man,
that's awful. He's like, no, I've gotta happened. Like, wait,
why he's been making this mistake. I haven't been able

(24:27):
to get him to see it. If he can't see
it on this play, there's no showing it to him.
So like, there's there's the chance that Dabe's sitting on
the sideline watching this game going I expected that. I
expected that. All right, I see what we can fix that.
All right, let's get the practice. Nobody gets a day
off this week. Guys, we're getting into it. Uh, DJ Kamer. Here,

(24:50):
here's here's what you didn't see. Here's why you didn't
see it. Fix it for me or else. Tommy DeVito
is gonna play a lot more games.

Speaker 2 (25:00):
Brian Dabel, he would never do this, but there are
moments where and this is way too much of a
sports movie. But imagine like Daniel Joneses is playing terrible
and just Brian Dable turns around to the suite and
just stares at Barah, this your guy, this man.

Speaker 1 (25:15):
Someone come get your man.

Speaker 2 (25:16):
So he's sacked it up, right, Uh he we would
never get to that level. Maybe maybe he saw something
in the preseason game that he can coach. I think
Brian Dable's a fantastic coach. I know a lot of
Giant fans questioned that in twenty twenty three after he
came off a Coach of the Year type season in
twenty twenty two. The play calling he's had from Alabama
to Buffalo. Bill's fans know that as well. For how

(25:38):
could he was for Josh Hallen and the difference between
him versus Ken Dorsey versus Joe Brady for the Bill's Mafia,
I'm a little skeptical. I don't know if that shocks anyone.
After the way we open this segment of what I
think of Daniel Jones, I don't have any pushback about
the offensive line. I think the league neighbors is a freak.
I think the defensive line, potentially he's so good. The
Dean line can be really good. But when it matters

(25:59):
the moment, can Daniel Jones make a play? Can Daniel
Jones throw that ball in the league, neighbors, can he
get it out that? Those are questions that are going
to hold back this shy season. As you touched on
this before you went to Disney, you said, like, the
guaranteed money's gone after this season. So if Brian Dable says, hey,
we gave Daniel Jones every opportunity we could to be
good twenty twenty five, we're moving on. We're bringing in
a veteran, We're bringing it in a rookie, whatever they

(26:20):
want to do. This is the Daniel Jones Show until
something terrible happens, because right now doesn't look great. I mean,
New York face probably remember this one. I'm gonna use
an old analogy, an old comparison, but it really was true.
Remember the second to last season with Rex Ryan for
the Jets. So they came off back to back AFC
total game appearances. They have a fall off season and

(26:42):
then that summer everybody wanted Rex Ryan fired in preseason
and I remember, if I remember this correctly, they didn't
score an offensive touchdown the entire preseason everyone's like, this
is the first coach in history who's gonna get fired
before week one, and Mark Sanchez I believe they laid
the bills.

Speaker 1 (27:00):
They did.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
They played the Bills that Week one and they put
up thirty five points. So there's a chance that maybe
something like we saw with Rex Ryan second of last
season for the Jets, that they're holding the best plays,
they're not showing everything. They're here to take the criticism,
and when Week one rolls and round, it's going to
look a completely different team on offense.

Speaker 1 (27:15):
That could happen. We've seen it.

Speaker 2 (27:16):
Happen in New York the last fifteen years. I find
that hard to believe. We'll find out now. Daniel Jones,
I think if Brian Dable could really pour some truth
surm down his throat, he'd say, can I get Quinn
yours right now? Can I get can we redo the dry?
Can we actually do the trade with the Patriots?

Speaker 1 (27:36):
Right here? Here's here's the thing, right Snoopy Bull's coming.
So what is that twenty fourth? So you could hear
that action.

Speaker 2 (27:45):
By the way, Levac on our sister station, it picks
one oh six. Pregame set for six thirty kickoff set
for seven to thirty. Jets are technically the home team,
so it's Giants Jats. What if Drew Locke comes out
and lights it up? Now, mind you, it's very unlikely
we're gonna see any real real players.

Speaker 1 (28:05):
For the Jets. Maybe a drive, maybe two if even
Dable doesn't not Dole uh Sala doesn't seem to want
to risk any injuries this year, which you can't blame
them based on last season, But like what if, what if?
What if Drew? What if he comes out and just
is a bad batman? Daniel Jones isn't losing his job,

(28:25):
not not in the pre season.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
Maybe October, maybe November, if they're in contention for a
playoff spot. I would find it hard to believe, because
of the money invested in Daniel Jones, that they're gonna
have a thirty five million dollar quarterback. I think it
was something along those lines. Thirty five guaranteed that they're
gonna let him hold the clipboard and watch Drew Locke
play well.

Speaker 1 (28:46):
But again, money's gone next year. You you literally believe
that you can win with Drew Locke at least a
wild card. It's a three quarterback room man, it's Dale Jones,
who you are ready to run out of town on
a rail. It's Drew Locke who's banged up right now,

(29:07):
but they did trade to get him. They wanted him.
And Tommy DeVito, who everybody loves. But let's be real,
Tommy DeVito's his ceilings a little lower than the other
two guys. Realistically, we are officially back lavaking us. This
is one of our all time favorite discussions that the quarterbacks.
It really is like the for the history of the show,

(29:30):
you've always said this, guys play the best players, don't
care what a salary is, room coss with the room costs.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
Let's not overthink this. If he's your best quarterback. You've
saw it have with your Raiders before in the past.
We've seen it with the Broncos last season. We've seen
it with the Bills in the nineties. Best players going
on the field, we'll figure out the finale. Jimmy Garoppolo
for the Niners will figure it out. While you've always
said if you're spending something for someone, you have to
find out if.

Speaker 1 (29:54):
It's worth what you spent, it'd be different if this
was year one of three years of guaranteed money for
Dan JEP. But this is it like the you know,
if it's a mistake, rip that bandit off and get
to work. If the guy is there, like if if
you really we know that Brian Dable can make a
dude play better than he is, or at least make
him play better than other dudes have. We've seen it.
We've seen it time and time again. We saw with

(30:16):
Danie Jones for a quick window. Who's to say he's
not the like who John Gruden, rich Gannon. Nobody thought
rich Gannon was gonna be an MVP by that point.
Is his journey man career. Every once in a while,
the right guy, the right arm gets attached to the
right brain and you're onto something. If the if we

(30:37):
get in a week two or three and Jones either
gets hurt and loses time or he just looks completely
inept and Drew Lock goes out there and just slings it.
He's not coming off the field until he's off the field,
like it's you know, yeah, and then and then if
you're a Giants fan, you can't look around and go,
you know not not how we drew it up. But dude,

(30:57):
only twenty seven, I.

Speaker 2 (30:59):
Know Daniel Jones is trying to look a little bit different.
Maybe someone say, act a little different, have some more swagger,
some more confidence, be the bad guy with the beer.
Now you want to talk about somebody who's got some
swagger and confidence. Drew Locke, from the moment he was
playing the sec at Missouri to him going viral dancing
on the sidelines for the Broncos, that would be a
whole different energy. If he's the quarterback and him and

(31:20):
neighbors are talking smack and Joe Shane's got a little
bit of swagger to him too with his cop it
would be a whole different energy if he's the quarterback.
Things would I wanted to say, things would have to
go wrong if that's against But really not like this.

Speaker 1 (31:33):
Is on Daniel Jones.

Speaker 2 (31:34):
If he looks like I'll say this. If he looks
like he looked in that game in Week three and
the Giants are owing three and I have nothing going
on offense, Drew lock con be on the field by September,
it could have this scenario could play out if he's
that bad like we saw against Houston.

Speaker 1 (31:49):
I mean a lot of these guys just looking for stability.
Bunch time in Denver when Denver had no stability. Now
the short little stint in Seattle and now here it comes.
I just I've got a lot of faith in Dable.
That's why I think Dale Jones is gonna be fine.
If Dabel was freaking out on the sideline yesterday or

(32:11):
not yesterday, this weekend, I don't know what day it is,
so a lot of time flying recently, I think it
would be very different. But the fact that Dabel's just
over there going ye preseason game, he's knocking some rust off.
It's pretty much how I expected.

Speaker 5 (32:26):
It to go.

Speaker 1 (32:27):
All right, We'll figure it out from here. That's where
I'm at. That's why I'm hoping. Giants fans, I think
you're in I think you're in way better shape than
you think you are. Wait till you see the old line. Oh,
it's gonna be so much better. So those jose'n hold
on the ball too long and turning it over we've
seen him do recently, then it'll be fine. One thing

(32:48):
that is better than fine is going to Mohawks Chevrolet.

Speaker 2 (32:51):
We're going tomorrow, right, we are live for Mohawks Chevalle
tomorrow three to six. Our guy Nate was texting us
We're gonna be back there tomorrow. A lot of wonderful
things in our way. Mohawk cheval Let's it's been too long.
It feels like it really has. I'm excited because I
got some service being done to my Silverado.

Speaker 1 (33:05):
They reached out. They were like, hey, look, we've you know,
through the monitoring system, through the on star, we know
she oils is a little low. You know, figure check
it out, do that, do some other stuff. I was like,
did you get my my life bar and my sport bar.
They're like we did. I'm like, can you put that on?
They like we can.

Speaker 4 (33:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (33:24):
So so I'm gonna get some service done tomorrow while
we're there. But most importantly, like just think about that.
Think about how excited I am to go get service
done on my vehicle at Mohawks Chevrolet. Tell me the
last time you're like, I gotta get an oil change,
and you're as hyped as I am because I know
I'm getting fresh coffee. I'm talking to my friends, having
some fun. They love when she droves. They're more excited

(33:46):
to see Scar Joe myself rout than they artists see me.
I'll be honest, I'll be I'll be very honest about it.
I I love everybody there. They love that truck. Every
time that truck pulls in, they're like, man, see I
see her on the roadway. She looks good. Uh, it's
it's just a great thing. So right now with supplier pricing, also,
you can still save a bunch of money. Vehicles and
a lot right now, just to save potentially thousands of

(34:06):
dollars on Seday's SUVs, pickup trucks, whatever it is, Stop
on by, Mohawks Away, stop by tomorrow, say hello. Tell
tell me why I'm crazy that I'm not paying for
the giants. Tell guys you never like Daniel Jones, give
them a chance down. Just have come on, come on by,
say hello. Together, we drive over at Mohawks Chevrolet, where

(34:27):
they always go out of their way to please you.
Coming up stuff and things, guys, stuff and things the way.

Back to Levac and Guz on ninety five nine and
nine eighty AM Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (37:50):
As I turned around up trying to like do my
my football budget, like you guys think I'm kidding, Like
I have a budget for wagering it has to include
pick'em's fantasy football dinger pools that I wasn't in before.
So like every time, like I'm have to move money

(38:14):
up in the budget, I may not be able to
go out and have after the Disney trip. And now,
how many fantasy football leagues are we in? I feel
like it's less, but it still feels like it's a lot.

Speaker 2 (38:25):
It's maybe four or five. Parent's investing. It's all about investing, budgeting, investing.
If you tell your significant other I'm investing, that sounds
like I don't have that problem.

Speaker 1 (38:40):
This is me. This is just me looking at me, going,
hey me, how much money do you want wrapped up
in this season before it starts? I mean it, it
adds up quick quick.

Speaker 2 (38:54):
Well there's another element you're playing with here too, and
you listening right now might have the same thing that
Levc's dealing with. You had a historic twenty twenty three.
It was that's different because the end money can't change. No, no, no,
Well that's the problem is what I have is the
in money. You know, you did so well last year.
I'm talking more for the wagering side than the fantasy side,
but you had an historic wagering season. You're like, if

(39:16):
I had wagered this amount of money and hit it
this rate, look how much more money I would have won.
A lot of people deal with that, whether it's horst,
whether it's what you're saying is just so you know
what you're saying in Levac terms, you won so much.
I won so much money.

Speaker 1 (39:32):
Wagering NFL football and pretty well in the college football playoffs. Man,
if you hadn't wasted that on the track in baseball,
you'd have a lot more to start with this year
than just your normal buy ins. This is what you're saying.
That's how you decoded what I said. That's what really happened.
I mean I put like I just I didn't have

(39:54):
the baseball season. I didn't have a five hundred baseball
season so far. Like I mean, I'm close than I was.
I've had a couple of nice pinstraight parlays, hit stuff
like that. But like, the money is the money, you know,
unless unless you're bringing more money in from somewhere, if
you use it somewhere else, it's gone, you know.

Speaker 7 (40:13):
What I mean.

Speaker 1 (40:14):
It's not like there's all getting reached that they're not
rage quitting on my PS five.

Speaker 2 (40:18):
I want if especially for the podcast, and you have
to say this again for our radio audience. That quote
you just said, say that again one more time about
the money coming in and not going out, and the.

Speaker 1 (40:26):
Money is the money. If you're not bringing more in,
it's gone. Do you hear that, sister in laws? Do
you hear that people who are bad at managing money?
Do you hear that? That's how money works.

Speaker 2 (40:39):
Just because you have the same amount of money doesn't
mean you can spend more in it. It magically will
show up somewhere. This is well done by Levak. There
are certain people, whether they're your relatives, whether you're your friends,
need to hear Levac's advice. Just because you have more
things you want to spend your money on doesn't mean
you get money falling from the sky.

Speaker 1 (41:01):
Get money. Yeah, I believe it was the poet Laureate
group Wu Tang clan and put it best. But they
said cash rules everything around me. Cream get the money,
dollar dollar bills, y'all. I was gonna joke and say,
what do you think the government's just gonna give you
free money? All of a sudden, he did a bit.
I they'll try to buy they'll try to buy more votes.

(41:22):
Don't worry on one side of the other will find
a way to throw his money. Well, so, like, I'm
just I've been trying to figure that all out. You're
in the the one pick on him in over at
Money's right, you're doing that one, I believe so all right,
so I gotta get that from you soon. Uh he's
asking for that, all right. I'm just adding it all up.

(41:43):
It's an interesting number this year. There's definitely the fun
budgets taking a hit. We'll just put it like that.
Between Disney and this the fun budget is like like
there was a point where my kid was like, hey, Dad,
if you get this, I'll pay you back. I'm I
just hit her up, Like, you better pay me back.
I got I got picking pools to be a part of. Here,
I gotta fit. I had a keeper league right now

(42:04):
where they want to start doing a buy in each season,
Like I need to. I need some free agency cash here, kid,
We're like Montana State right in a week zero? Come on, now,
I haven't done that yet. But well then the thing
is like if I so like, if I take that,
let's say week zero, I'll probably have seventy five dollars
to play with week one of the NFL, I'll have

(42:27):
two hundred to two hundred and fifty pen upon you
know what I do over the next couple of weeks,
if you don't see me under the orange roof, I
will have more money. So like all those those are there,
so like. But if I win those, then that can
go into the next weeks. Because what I do is
I take the pot, I I divide it by the
by how long it is, and that's how much money

(42:47):
I have. So there you go. I'm fascinated by Brian Forlores. Ooh,
this is fascinated by him.

Speaker 2 (42:56):
I'm glad you took this story because I'm not going
to use this in the top four for it. This
is whether it's social media, whether it's clicks, A simple interview,
it seemed like, is blown up to one of the
biggest national stories on a Monday today involving Brian Florest.
I believe you're referencing the Tua interview. Correct that with
Dan Lebatzar got in Miami.

Speaker 1 (43:17):
Which was weird too because the sound was odd on it.

Speaker 5 (43:19):
First.

Speaker 1 (43:19):
I didn't think they were in the same room until
I actually saw the video. But yeah, so Levatar's hanging
out with Tua and the crew, and Tua he just annihilated.
He just not like he was asked what why and

(43:39):
work or whatever, what his experiences were, and he said
he was a terrible person. Quote. If you woke up
every morning and I told you that you suck at
what you did, that you don't belong, that you shouldn't
be here, that you haven't earned this, and then someone
comes it tells you you are the best fit for this,

(44:00):
how would that make you feel? So basically what he's
telling everybody is like we and we had heard that
there was issues between Brian Flores, and to a tongue
of lowe, we we knew that. We heard it. Everybody
everybody heard it. Brian Flores tried to say they had
a decent relationship, they were okay. Brian Flores is one
of those dudes who doesn't make expressions like you can't

(44:21):
if if he wasn't such a great defensive mind. And
I do believe he is a great defensive mind. He
could probably be an amazing poker player because he's just
gonna look at you like he wants to kill you
for the entire time and then he's either gonna have
pocket ass or two seven off suit like but you're
never he won't look different obviously. Mike McDaniel and to

(44:43):
a way better fit for each other. They get along great.
Is this so, guys, I guess this is where where
I want to what I I'm confused about with Brian
Flores because we're watching him. One of the reasons I
think Minnesota will actually still contend and be in it
all year is that defense is gonna be special with
him running it, They're gonna they do the He does

(45:05):
things on defense you don't expect, and that's saying something
in this league.

Speaker 8 (45:10):
Is he.

Speaker 1 (45:14):
A victim of the modern athlete and how their their
feelings matter just as much as how well they can play?
Or is he just a jerk and he shouldn't be
a head coach.

Speaker 2 (45:22):
It could be both, and I don't want to do
the not pick aside. I want to go back to
McDaniel first, though. I find myself and I don't know
if it's because I'm Tommy Corporate in another spot when
this Mike gets turned off, or I have to deal
with management and you do as well as a team president, which,
by the way, about a half hour. I got some
questions for you about the internet going on. But I

(45:42):
find myself liking Mike McDaniel moore because he is truly
from everything we've heard, authentically himself, and he's not trying
to act like an old school football coach. He's not
trying to act like leader. He's like, this is who
I am. I'm more comfortable acting like this because this
is my true and if players see this is how
I am, they respond to it. And I think there

(46:05):
is something maybe about the future of leadership, of athletes
responding to people who are connecting with them, rather than
there being a hierarchy of I'm your coach, you have
to listen to everything I say or else, like you
could talk about that with parenting, You could talk about
that with other jobs that aren't coaching jobs, whether it's
management or bosses or anything else. It seems like Brian
Flores was.

Speaker 4 (46:23):
More old school.

Speaker 2 (46:25):
Will go with but let's not discredit Brian Flores as
his success as a head coach. Remember when Flores was
running that Dolphin team, there was a serious conversation both
locally and nationally that that Dolphin team was gonna finish
below five hundred and it was such a bad roster
that he was getting consideration to be the head coach
of the Year in the NFL at seven and nine

(46:47):
because of how bad the Dolphin team was. And now
there were stories later on where you sued the team
and sued the NFL and talked about how the team
tried to tank, and he had all this evidence. So
maybe he is a jerk. Like maybe Brian Flores is
awful to play for. That doesn't also mean he's a
bad coach, though, And people know this wherever they might work.
You might have a terrible boss. That doesn't mean they're

(47:07):
bad at their job. You might have a terrible coworker
that you can't stand and will never get beers with.
That doesn't mean they're bad at their job. You don't
have to get along with them. Like two of from
what this quote is in the Conversation Danvil episode, he
asked me a question about the differences two us not
hanging out with Brian Flores he wants to be with
Mike McDaniel.

Speaker 1 (47:26):
That doesn't mean Flores is a bad coach.

Speaker 2 (47:29):
To your question about the modern athlete, I wonder if
the modern athlete doesn't want to separate those things. Hey,
this person's a jerk. To me, I feel like I
could perform better and be a better athlete and work
well with someone I can find more success doing that
rather than every day this guy ripping me. Apart, Like
to the Belichick Brady thing, I know there's a higher
praise of them, But some people thought when they got

(47:50):
nineteen twenty years into Belichick Brady, some thought Belichick would
start praising Brady to their game breakdowns or film and
Belichick was still ripping Brady. He said, I've done this
for twenty years. Can we not act like I'm a
twenty two year old in film? Maybe at that point
he said, can I get a little bit of praise?
And maybe it just wears on people. So even though

(48:10):
Brian Flores his coaching style might come off as being
a jerk, that doesn't necessarily mean he's a bad coach.
And Tua prefers this, Hey, I'd prefer like we like
each other, we get along, compared to me dealing with
somebody like that.

Speaker 1 (48:26):
Here's here's why I think. Here's where I think you
can call him a bad coach. I'm gonna coach you
the exact same way I saw Tom Brady coached, and
you have to respond to it, like you can't turn
a guy into the greatest of all time by just
forcing it, Like, you've got to find the way you've

(48:47):
got to You've gotta find that path what worked with
Belichick and Brady. You know that might not work with
you in Tua. And when I when I now can
see and you and you're right, dude, I'm telling you
like he took that defense from a bunch of nobody's
to I mean, every team was trying to pick those
guys off that team. They wanted them all. Look what

(49:09):
he's doing again, what he's doing in Minnesota. That was
a defense that that wasn't was not the strength of
the team, and they became the strength of the team.
They are the strength of the team. The reason I
asked the way I asked, though, is we asked this
question all the time. Why not just be the best
defensive coordinator ever? Why not just be the best offensive
quardat Why not? Why deal with this because I think

(49:31):
you're I think you're a lot less likely to hurt
a defensive players feelings than an offensive players feelings, and
and and that's not to say that there aren't divas
on both sides of the ball. That's not to say
that he was okay with it, whatever he said or whatever.
I'm just saying what we've seen historically is your quote

(49:52):
unquote lunch pale player is usually the defensive side of
the guys. The player the offensive line that you know,
you think back to that Denver offen of line that
they would find each other if their name was in
the paper. It's a lot less likely to find a
quarterback wide receiver, now tight end who's going to let
you tear them down every day.

Speaker 2 (50:12):
I finally this past weekend. I know it's been out
for months, I finally finished Swampkings, the Netflix.

Speaker 1 (50:18):
Special on Florida. I haven't watched any of it yet.

Speaker 2 (50:22):
Watch it if you get a chance. This isn't going
to really ruin anything, but one of my first takeaways
of finally finishing swamp Kings, the untold series that's going
to come back later this month, my first thought was
people watched the Florida workouts. These young kids who are
some of them are from rough backgrounds and urban Meyer
is having them work out like soldiers. And they even
said it turn it. They're going through these incredibly brutal

(50:45):
workouts and you watch it like people thought urban Meyer
was going to work in the NFL. You can't treat
a nineteen year old kid who has a scholarship on
the line the same as a millionaire.

Speaker 1 (50:55):
This doesn't work.

Speaker 2 (50:56):
Like urban Meyer could have been the greatest college coach
of all time, and there's nothing wrong with that. You
don't have to chase the NFL. You can have a
good style that works at a certain place. Heat a
lie by an al though right, I think urban Meyer
with boosters would be fun to watch. I don't think
he'd enjoy that. I don't think he'd have the sales
been working.

Speaker 7 (51:15):
I do.

Speaker 1 (51:16):
I think he's good.

Speaker 2 (51:17):
But his style of what worked in the mid two
thousands in college no chance could work in college now,
and no chance that would work in the NFL.

Speaker 1 (51:24):
Well just think because like it was one thing when look,
let's let's not pretend that every single school has not
paid a player at some point. They have, whether in
some way shape or for benefits have been provided. We'll
put it like that. But when the benefits that are
being provided are illegal, the player doesn't have the same
leverage he does is when when he's getting seven eight, nine,

(51:44):
ten million dollars to be your quarterback. It's a little
different now. Now you walk onto a college campus. Hey,
you run routes? All right, what are we doing? Just
start running? Yeah, so that's not gonna work for me.
You give me a reason. I'm all in. You know
that's Listen, I got a video of you at a bar, buddy,
Like it's not good, Like it's yeah, it's just a

(52:06):
different I guess I really respect Brian Flores's defensive mind.
I don't know that he should be a head coach
in the NFL because again two and listen, it's a
different to it now.

Speaker 2 (52:19):
Oh yeah, you tell the attitude in that interview. He's
a different person.

Speaker 1 (52:23):
He was a softy back then. Dad used to beat
him with a with a with a belt when he
would when he's throw an interceptions, stuff like that. Like
I don't I don't think an that's happening anymore. And
good for him for finding his own voice. But it's
just it. I'm fascinated. Just those are the guys that
fascinating me, the guys that they just don't work at
that level, but they work almost every other level. Like

(52:46):
I keep thinking about Frank Reich and Nick Sirianni. Like
Frank Reich is a better head coach when he's got
firing Nick Sirianni next to him as his as his
other guy, and Nick Sirianni, you know mayor, and Mayor
now be a better coach when he's got that even
keel cooling coach next to him. It's I miss the

(53:08):
days when they just pair off. It's like, Hey, I'm
really good at offense and actual overall like leadership, I'm
really good at defense, and I would rather not bother
with a lot of the postgame press conferences. Want to
be friends? Yeah, yeah I do, Yeah I do. Uh well,
we'll find out that probably Flores thing ain't done. That's good.
We're gonna hear more about that as ain't going to where.

(53:29):
We're also gonna hear the top four or four that
is coming up and next right here the fat guys
