Speaker 1 (00:00):
And nine eighty.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
We are live in the Traveling GT and Toys the
studio that's Toys with a Z. Today the studio finds
itself second level, right behind the club, the house reserve
seats at Saratoga Race Course. As the meat continues, cool day,
just a nice little breeze going through here. For everybody
who's like, it's still how to go to the track.

(00:25):
Today's day, today's dad. Get get on your horse and
get over here to the horses.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
We start off the show like twenty seconds early, but
we've already had, oh.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
My goodness, twenty seconds. I'm charging for this. We at
time and a half for this twenty seconds. We've had good, bad,
and odd.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
I think in this time, you and I have been
here in this first hour, and it's all Christina.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
It's all our friend Christina. I put her in the
good category. Oh we've got coozies. We've got fridge stickers. Again,
they're magnets, They're not stickers. They're not fridge stickers. Okay,
he has no idea.

Speaker 4 (00:54):
You.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
I mean, just when I think you can't get any
worse with technology, you think magnets are stickers, fridge stickers.
What it is like At what point does Hobart just
close the doors? This Hobart just go. We put guys
in the universe, and we no longer feel like we
should teach the minds of young adults.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
People who have to pay back their college longs. Look,
we're gonna cover those. We don't need you walking around
with the stake.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
With monopoly money. That's well, it's better than what most dude.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
That's that's been the good the badness. You and I
have already fired off wagers today. Neither one of us
has had a horse finish on the screen.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
That's fair. That did happen. I caught. I caught the
gaze itis where the horse finishes way way back. So
it was that the bad or the ugly.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
Well, the the odd is that I've never seen a
grown man with an ice cream look as odd as
that guy did.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
I was in an ice cream in his mind. That
was something else in his mind. That was not what happened.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
I was very odd, just alone by itself, having an
adult ice cream and going around him looking it way
too hard and it's just them.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
I think what we've found is the hawk to a man.
I think is what we found. No, no, I don't
ever want to know where The only reason I want
to know where he is is so I don't go there.
And like, honestly, he did the one thing no one's
ever been able to do. Ever, I don't know if
I want an ice cream right now? I did. I
wanted an ice cream, Ben and Jerry's right there. It's great,

(02:17):
great ice cream. There was a hope, Oh no, Trump,
it's great ice cream. Some day it's the best ice cream.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Our friend Tony Alabada wet in that same direction the
ice cream guy did. I thought he was gonna be
a part of that challenge today. But luckily the ice
cream Guy's oppen found.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Well, we are joined by our good friend who we
we love seeing. We are always happy when we were
joined by president of Nyra BET's Tony All. Actually I
texted him Earli this week. I was like, are do
I get you twice this week? And he was like,
you know, we fucking make time. That's what he really
said was if I don't screw up. But we all
know what that really means.

Speaker 5 (02:47):
Hey, you guys doing.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
We're good man. It's good to be here on a Wednesday.
It's more of a chill day. Both temperature wise and
kind of like laid back because usually we're here on
the Fridays that's when everything kicks up for the weekends. Yeah,
this is great. These are my favorite days here at
the drages. Can't complain, can't complain? I mean I could
I find a way.

Speaker 5 (03:03):
Yeah, there's always something to complain about.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
How are you we?

Speaker 5 (03:07):
Season football gone for you guys?

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Uh, it's some good place on stuff to watch. I
haven't bet it. I'm I'm still notra Beets is where
I'm at right now. That's that's Uh, it's safe east.

Speaker 3 (03:17):
Freshly back from disney World, Disneyland to California connection.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
What's better? Does he have to do.

Speaker 6 (03:21):
Disneyland now that he's finished with disney World? The original
is always better?

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Really?

Speaker 5 (03:26):
Okay? Always come on.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Sound like World. It's got that. It's got that new
theme park smell.

Speaker 5 (03:33):
That's called that's called urine.

Speaker 7 (03:37):
Is that what I was?

Speaker 5 (03:42):
Popcorn?

Speaker 2 (03:44):
Definitely popcorn.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
I had to take my children out of Disney World.
That's what will be in my mind for years.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
That was that, kids. I got to ask you. That
was the biggest different being old the New Yakee Stadium.
As I'm leaving New Yankee Stadium. We're like, I don't
think anybody's even peanut these ramps yet. This is this
is nominal.

Speaker 5 (04:02):
I guess we know what happened next.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
You know, I do own at least one of those ramps.
Now by the law of nature.

Speaker 5 (04:10):
Then you were shortly after that attacked by Grizzly there.

Speaker 2 (04:13):
Well, I don't want to talk about my daily life
in front of everyone.

Speaker 8 (04:16):
But.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
So how has this year been for Nira Bets, Because
I mean, I've seen the app gets better every year.
It feels like more and more people use it every year.
It looks like it's really taken off even more.

Speaker 6 (04:27):
Yeah, it's it's the you know, fastest growing online wagering
site for horse racing based in New York.

Speaker 5 (04:34):
It starts to flitter in no.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Site.

Speaker 5 (04:38):
It's it's done really well.

Speaker 6 (04:39):
And I mean, you know it's it helps being on
Fox every day to promote it, having guys like you
guys push it for us.

Speaker 5 (04:45):
So it's been good.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
And that's you can actually use it in Florida on
like other online sites. So it's those I enjoyed that.
That's I've I've continued my lead over Gaze in our
in our rivalries I got a little bit of cash
left today. We've got ten other.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
Boat within striking How close I need to know? I'm
thirty five dollars back.

Speaker 5 (05:04):
Yeah, you got no shot.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
I gotta be like I said, try coming up later.
You sent her coming later.

Speaker 6 (05:10):
You could go through your ashtray, glove compartment save his account,
and you couldn't put thirty five dollars together, let alone
picking winners.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
I'm within striking distance, Tony, I can feel it.

Speaker 5 (05:20):
What's your definition of striking distance?

Speaker 6 (05:22):
He is very long, like when North Korea as they
can hit New York with the mess after your idea
striking changes, the math adds out the numbers are playing as.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
I got right up there. I think you said, math
add Yeah, she said, well, so we're in We're in
two different challenges right now. So the the s Force
Mornergy challengehere we're going against the guys from Picks and us.
We're all doing that. I'm in the lead in that one.
Somehow I got run on that one last year. And
then the one that you've always been gracious enough to
put out for us, the NYRA Bets Challenge. When we
get a race named after us, and I might have

(05:56):
to have. I might have to beg you to make
it the Levac and Gas race one year, because I'm
starting to feel that, no, no, what if what if
we do? What if I what if I up the endy?
Can I have Levak and Jordan race? Have his wife named?

Speaker 5 (06:08):
I think? Said Michael Jordan.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
He was, I mean better chance.

Speaker 6 (06:12):
I was actually thinking the other way, like I think,
if you win, like we wing a crown down to
the winning circle, we placed the crown. You should place
the crown on his head. Yeah, We're not gonna make
you bow that.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
You know what, this is the moment when I win this,
would I win this Direbets challenge. This is gonna be
the moment I played back for the next eleven months. Yeah,
but the crowd's gonna happen no matter what. Even I mean,
you have been striking range. It's like one hundred and
thirty five dollars away.

Speaker 5 (06:42):
Is thirty five?

Speaker 6 (06:43):
You know the horses had lost his secretary. He was
in striking range turning for home. Yeah right, he was
only thirty lengths behind and losing by.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Thirty five with a cruise missile was striking this too far?
I mean, listen, at what point do you just get
tired of me beating you? I mean, what points? Today
is the day I'm telling you. I my wife says
to me, fifty cent tried box three bucks. Boys. This
is where it starts.

Speaker 5 (07:10):
Laughing a little too hard.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
This is the one time I saw your beautiful life.
I've now envisioned her beating you up.

Speaker 5 (07:14):
Yeah, I don't have to envision it.

Speaker 9 (07:17):
I live.

Speaker 5 (07:19):
All the traverstak.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
For you, though?

Speaker 3 (07:25):
Is it more pressure? Is it excitement for Nyra bets?
Is this the most downloaded like what happens for you
in a week?

Speaker 9 (07:30):
Like?

Speaker 5 (07:30):
Well, first of all, this is talking about how great
of a race it is.

Speaker 6 (07:33):
Oh, you got torpedo Anna trying to meet the boys,
and it's you know, it's just'll be historic. The last
time I feel he won the race is nineteen fifteen,
and she wanted by disqualification. So for Topeta to win
it outright, to beat Darnick, who's the Belmont winner, and
tierceness it was a te year old champion.

Speaker 5 (07:52):
Sierra Leone, who is a favorite in the derby. I mean,
this is a star.

Speaker 6 (07:56):
It's the best field I've seen since I had worked
in New York. And it's gonna be great because of that.
I think you're gonna see a lot of interest on
Matterbet's people are gonna be watching. We'll have a great
turnout on Fox Sports three and a half hour show
live on broadcast.

Speaker 5 (08:10):
It's gonna be a big deal. Do you think the
Philly can win?

Speaker 2 (08:12):
I hope. So. I always enjoy that. That's my favorite
part because no one it's It's one of those things
where like I love an underdog, and I don't know
if there's a bigger quote unquote underdog than a female
horse in these massive races.

Speaker 5 (08:23):
Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 3 (08:24):
I'm glad you gave away the stats about the Philly
because I was prepped for that to be the trivia
question tonight. So I'm glad that's off the tame. I
wasn't ready enough in the top of my head. But
back to your question, do I think the Philly can
do it? I feel like almost unfairly, any Philly who
runs at a big race in Saratoga will get compared
to Rachel Alexandra like the call of a moment everything else.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
I hope.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
So, I hope by the time we get there she
gets all the love that people.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
If you think you're in striking distance. How do you
not think she can win? I didn't say I don't
think she can win.

Speaker 5 (08:54):
How are you so anti? Why are you so anti female?
R Wow?

Speaker 2 (09:00):
Wow, it's not just horses, females in general. Yeah, he's
pretty much a hater. He only has sons.

Speaker 5 (09:07):
My god, how that works? Geez?

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Now, I was like, you know science and science. Now
he's been telling everybody these magnets are fridge stickers. That's right. Now,
you knows science. Now, now you guys can grab feels.

Speaker 10 (09:23):
Go over.

Speaker 6 (09:24):
Well, honey, whered you get me for my birthday? I
got you these ridge stickers. They're amazing, limited limited quantities.
But you know you mentioned Rachel examer. I'll say this.
I think that this the feel that Rachel's accomplishment was amazing,
but she didn't beat that great of a field. If

(09:45):
Anna could win this race, I actually think it would
be a bigger deal.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
Okay, well all right, so listen, you actually have an
idea of what you speak when you say these things,
especially before the race. After the race, I feel differently.
But who who do you think he's gonna win? Does
she have a chance?

Speaker 5 (10:00):
Wow, that's a great question.

Speaker 6 (10:01):
Do we call Friday if you want to answer now, yes,
let's hold it for Friday, because, just to.

Speaker 3 (10:08):
Radio, I want to see if he changed his mind.
Thanks you for not letting the helpen. Sorry, Tony, who
do you think is gonna win? Just cut that part.

Speaker 2 (10:16):
Will give you a sticker if you tell us, yeah, exactly?
Would you like a can warmer?

Speaker 5 (10:23):
Who's that? What that is? It was something else?

Speaker 2 (10:30):
Can she can torped it?

Speaker 6 (10:34):
When Wednesdays every week? You guys are way more fun
on Wednesdays. You don't want to see me. It's like, oh,
here's Tony. I don't like to start.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
Drinking until later on Fridays. I start much earlier on Wednesdays.

Speaker 5 (10:48):
Later. What's later for you?

Speaker 2 (10:50):
Dude? You can't drink all day. We will start in
the morning.

Speaker 5 (10:56):
You know what, if you stay drunk.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
You're never hung over, Dean Martin said, I I pinion
anyone who doesn't drink, they feel as good as they're
gona feel all day when they wake up. That's true,
that's science, that's it. That's it, fridge stickers, customers. He's
gonna tell us about the race. I'm sorry we're talking
about We're.

Speaker 5 (11:14):
Done with the race. I'm gonna give you the trivia question, okay,
and then we can give up. We can tell me
what the new, what the offer is this week? All right?

Speaker 6 (11:23):
So as you know, those of you listen to the
show know that you guys are huge, huge racing fans.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
It's it's impressed I say us the term students.

Speaker 6 (11:31):
Of the game, but really you're kind of like professors
of the game when it comes down to it. And
every time I come on the show, which game? I
feel like I've learned something new? Don't you know that
I'm getting dumber every time? But other than that, like,
you guys are horse racing aficionados, which actually that should

(11:52):
be the trivia question spell officionado because I couldn't do it.

Speaker 5 (11:54):
No, I'm just like, so I'm gonna ask you.

Speaker 6 (11:57):
It's a it's a horse racing term, and I'm gonna
give you poor options and I need you to tell
me which one is the definition of this turn. So
in horse racing you often see horses with the letters
next to it.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
That say M T oh I know this one?

Speaker 5 (12:14):
Okay, Well then you're excluded.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
Okay, Okay.

Speaker 6 (12:17):
Does mto stand for mud trained option, main track only,
mandatory turf option or maximum time off.

Speaker 5 (12:29):
You would like me to repeat this.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
I feel good about this one. I feel good. Here's
the thing, levanc I think we can make history today.
I think we could hit three in a row. I
know this one.

Speaker 3 (12:41):
I feel like this is when the legendary moment television
hit this when John Carpenter won the million dollars on
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and then called his dad.

Speaker 5 (12:49):
I thought John Carpenter was a singer.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
Could I do want to point out, if we do
get this right, I'm unable to call my dad. Did
not bring a weepy word. That's my god.

Speaker 5 (13:01):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
Well, I mean I didn't know he wanted.

Speaker 5 (13:03):
To call my dad after that dark place.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
Herbe golling the lot herb.

Speaker 6 (13:10):
It's like, imagine you get like one conversation with your
dad death and it's to ask him what mt O stature?

Speaker 5 (13:17):
And he wasted it on that.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
He was literally my dad would really go I told
you that when you were a.

Speaker 5 (13:25):
Minute, he's like, kind of flat.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
I would like, I would you guys love you to dad?
I don't know you guys couldn't hear the end right.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
Just imagine someone tune into the show for the first
time two minutes ago.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
Just dad, I'm gonna go with main.

Speaker 3 (13:40):
Track only it's gonna be my guest. I believe that
was choice.

Speaker 5 (13:42):
B actually choice A way being wrong there, I knocked you.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
And because you've been so wrong lately, that's now the
wrong answer. Yeah, it was.

Speaker 6 (13:55):
You're so wrong when you say something, I assume that
it's wrong even when you're right herby no.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
So yeah, because so what what that What happens is
is you line those up on the turf races, and
if the races moved to the main track, they run.
If it's not, they scratch.

Speaker 5 (14:10):
Wow.

Speaker 6 (14:10):
So usually I get to explain it, but thank you
for taking the one thing that I get to do
on the segment away from you.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
Just tell me I'm the smart and pretty profess alright,
I'm pretty the part I'm and no, I listen, I
don't know what. I've never actually known one, so I
had to get that one. Yeah, I want to say
that like you were somebody explaining to us years.

Speaker 5 (14:32):
I think so.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
I mean because it because it's in the programs, and
that's why you watch for those ones, and you don't
you only bet them if you know they're going to
move them off the turf. I will say this. You
did hear it this year.

Speaker 3 (14:42):
I believe one of our horse Racy handicappers told usduring
end interview.

Speaker 2 (14:45):
Yeah I know, but when they said it, I was like,
I've already learned this. I think I'm pretty sure Tony
told us a couple of years back. I'm almost positive.

Speaker 5 (14:50):
That's great.

Speaker 6 (14:51):
It's I'm gonna get credit for stuff that I never did,
which is the opposite of working at Naira, where I'd
never get credit for anything I do.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
Because it was because it was I want to say
it was the COVID year, because you would, you would.
I think it was the same day that you came
back to see if I bet and I screwed up.
And even though I didn't bet the way we said
we were gonna bet, I didn't bet the winner. It
was I remember the day. I'm telling you right now,
this is like slum Dog Millionaires coming.

Speaker 5 (15:15):
Back old Mansion. I remember. I think it was during
the COVID years came by. There's only had the discount card.

Speaker 2 (15:25):
There's no one else at the track.

Speaker 11 (15:28):
It was just they treated us like real human.

Speaker 5 (15:32):
It was different back then. It was a different time.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
It was great.

Speaker 5 (15:35):
I didn't recognize you because you had the mask on. Yes,
but then you said some stupid joke and I know
what you.

Speaker 2 (15:43):
They were like, They're like, you can take it.

Speaker 5 (15:45):
Better than my real voice.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
I like grumpy old men at the track. We should
do this every week. My favorite thing. You leave the
mask off as long as you're sitting down. I'm like,
well then I'm set.

Speaker 6 (15:57):
Because you know, we didn't know back then that you
could still get COVID when someone's sitting down.

Speaker 5 (16:02):
But then it was.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
Early, the early days, and we.

Speaker 6 (16:04):
Had thought if you're sitting, you cannot give anybody COVID
standing one hundred percent of time.

Speaker 2 (16:09):
And there was a little bowl of prenzels next to me,
so we were eating. It was all the rules of
New York that we had learned at the time amount
of time.

Speaker 5 (16:15):
Back now, we can't even afford the pretzels.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
Well, that's because guy've caught guzzes having a betting. Horses
don't even finish behind.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
That's right, that's all three dollars coming up. Race nine
two six eight. Tony locked that in rebat six eight
fifty trybox race nine.

Speaker 5 (16:33):
And when I just bet numbers, I bet six two eight.
Those are my numbers?

Speaker 2 (16:36):
Look at that?

Speaker 5 (16:37):
Why my birthdays June second? Okay, you didn't get you
didn't get me anything again.

Speaker 2 (16:45):
Well I just I was gonna get that. Was gonna
actually regive whatever you give me for Monday because that's
what my birthday.

Speaker 5 (16:50):
Yes, yeah, oh wow, that's great. Eight Wow, we got
all the numbers.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
Covering still fun. Me and phone guy Mike Guy Mike
from the track. He's he's August twenty sixth as well.
Really yeah, we found out a couple of years back.
He's like it's on the counter. His his his might be.
He's valuable. He knows how to fixed phones and stuff.

Speaker 12 (17:12):
Me.

Speaker 2 (17:13):
I don't whatever, I'm here for whatever, whatever, just not
to call my dad. I fringing that up, guys, Jesus'
so he's a pleasure.

Speaker 5 (17:24):
I used to say that this was the most fun
thing I did the week. I used to say, now
you have to say it.

Speaker 2 (17:31):
We just feel it. I feel the joy. My face
hurts from laughing something.

Speaker 5 (17:36):
Yeah takes a lot.

Speaker 6 (17:40):
Wow.

Speaker 5 (17:41):
Wow, so everybody knows my face is paralyzed.

Speaker 6 (17:46):
That was a shot at me. Pointed at my face
and said my face for snow.

Speaker 2 (17:52):
This this this, this gentleman has welcomed us into his
house for years now. He is named races after us.
And you're gonna take a cheap shot like that?

Speaker 6 (18:03):
Hey, guys, why don't we get you like a remote
MI mic and we'll go down to the handicapped parking.

Speaker 5 (18:06):
It's either somebody could pick on down there.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
Oh my god. Yeah, you just start starts taking fight.

Speaker 13 (18:11):
Yeah, that's my face, My face hurts. That's not what
I bet. That's just I was having not what I meant.
It's not, it's not.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
That's usually what people.

Speaker 5 (18:24):
That's either people say when they walk in an HR meeting.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
You know, that's not what I meant for people out
there who aren't heartless animals, like guys who are signing
up for Nira bets. Is there there any promos going
on there?

Speaker 6 (18:36):
Yeah, if you get half your face paralyzed, you get
a thank god we save face.

Speaker 5 (18:41):
Thank you, thank you. No, yes, it's uh right now.
We got a fifty dollars free play and a on Saturday.

Speaker 6 (18:49):
And I hurt a little bitty deposit match.

Speaker 2 (18:53):

so upset by what was happening. I saw you kind
of check out. I just realized what you're doing. You're
ordering lunch for tomorrow. I just like, this is hand
a stack of bibles. Kids. I saw guys check out
in that conversation with because of my dead parents. Jokes

(27:19):
don't make him laugh for some reason. And then when
Tony started the pick on him about Tony's face, he
went away, it's because we have a chance to get
Burger five food. There we go, Polly's here. It looks
like he owes you money, not come back. You go
through his pockets quick.

Speaker 5 (27:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
So so our guy, we're gonna get to see our
guy from Burger Fi tomorrow around lunchtime. And he just
reached out and he's like Hey, what do you guys want?
I want to bring food by and gods literally stopped
to read the Burger five menu and order food for tomorrow.
How A thought that was an appropriate time to do it,
Mitch schell when you were just in the middle of
getting roasted. It's it's so fun. I had done enough.

(28:02):
I've done enough, and enough he done. It was recovering.
Oh my god.

Speaker 3 (28:05):
If I could have, I would have dropped the headset,
taken a lap around the whole track.

Speaker 2 (28:09):
I thought. I thought I was gonna do the show
with uh with with my guy Tony, tell me about
It's great, dude, what did you get the CEO Burger?

Speaker 3 (28:17):
I got the Yes chef Burger. Because we have some
interesting stuff going on. I don't know when it's gonna air.

Speaker 2 (28:23):

are the details will off bro. We got some cool
stuff coming up, probably in the fall, coming up with
the River that's gonna start tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
All that's weird then you said it like that, but
that's solid enough to use I think, yep. Magnet. Uh see,
she said, magnet. Gods not fridge sticker, fridge on your fridge.
He's not, no, don't him. No, he's good. You're good.

(29:26):
reminded him of your race.

Speaker 3 (29:28):
Oh my god, I think I said race nine during
our conversation. I don't want him and you and the
Capitol to reach him. Listening to Miss two six fifty
trifect to box Race.

Speaker 2 (29:37):
Seven, good, good for good, get out, give for you.
Did you hear that?

Speaker 3 (29:43):
I got mean to cut off, but I know you
said both the Mets and the Yankees suck and they
had an awful day last night.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
I do want to start with the Mets the clown
music as they made every like it's only like, what's
the Benny Hill music, Yakay Sacks. I mean that's what
it felt like when they just they just gift wrapped
the g aim for your Orioles. My guy, our guy,
the voice.

Speaker 3 (30:03):
Of the Baltimore Orioles, Kevin Brown. I've listened to, not
even joking, hundreds of Kevin Brown games, both as his
former in studio host and a fan.

Speaker 2 (30:12):
Of the Orioles.

Speaker 3 (30:14):
That might be call number one in the history of
Kevin Brown's broadcaster. Here Kevin Brown for those who don't remember.
And he got fired because of the graphic last year,
but got suspended and then brought back, and then he
got extended. And that call go find it if you can.
But the end, when it's all said and done in
the music is about to wrap up, and him going.

Speaker 2 (30:33):
It's an absolute mess. Yeah that's exactly. Yeah man, Yeah
that sounds yesterday.

Speaker 29 (30:43):
That was.

Speaker 2 (30:43):
And look, I thought I thought they were gonna come back.
There was a point where they looked like they had
it together. They were gonna make their way back. I
literally texted, guyz uh, your bullpens about to blow this
for you. And you were scared. I know you were scared.
Said yeah, you took you a while to write that
though that was not an immedior reacity your first reacting.
You swore at that phone almost through it. I know
you were you were mad for a minute, but you

(31:05):
can't but you compose yourself and uh so did so
did the Orioles. But the Mets did not again nine
to five loss to the Orioles. The Again, it was
just it's the Mets wounds are self inflicted this year,
and and you know the amount of people that you're
still paying who aren't on your roster, the moves that

(31:26):
you didn't make because of the people you're paying who
are on your roster. And then have your good players
go out and play like do doo against an Orioles
team that you beat the night before, and all this happens.
I mean, and I've heard a lot of people say
that your boy Kevin Brown is going to be played
over and over in the Mets locker room, over and
over and over again to motivate them to go out

(31:47):
and handle business. It's you know, listen, the Mets are
good enough to win that game. They just did not
play like that.

Speaker 3 (31:57):
It's these moments that stand with the history of the
Mets organization. I know it's always hard to do in
pro sports, even maybe more so in college of Look
what happened in the past. This is gonna haunt a
team going forward because those players aren't there now for
the team more recently. When those mistakes are happening, Yeah,
that happens. That's more likely to stick around. That's why
it's more so pro than college. But when those things

(32:18):
happen in big games against big opponents, that's when it
starts shaking the mental side of it for the Mets.
If you make those plays against the White Sox of
the A's and you're a really good team and you're
dominating the analyast, we're not having that moment be talked
about across Major League Baseball today, not just New York
or Cry.

Speaker 2 (32:34):
When it's you're in contention.

Speaker 3 (32:36):
For a spot, you almost blow the lead the night before,
but you smash a three to zero pitch to the moon.
And this is supposed to be the time I asked
you this question yesterday, Like, well, momentum swing around for
the Mets. There seem like little flashes of maybe and
then everything falls apart. You're met fan will use this comparison.
You're driving to the finish line and rather than running

(32:58):
out of gas, you actually the car falls apart. Someone
flies out of the car jumping get me out of
here them that fan out, like the whole.

Speaker 2 (33:06):
Thing collapses, not just one thing goes wrong. Everything feels
like it goes.

Speaker 3 (33:11):
Wrong in that play, that sequence of awful throws and
everything else might be looked back, as he said, le
back through weeks to come here for Mets fans.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
Of what could have been in twenty twenty four. Yeah,
you just have some circus music to that, and you're in.
You're in good You're in good standing with that whole thing.
They're still not dead though, right like you do you
expect I almost expect them to come out tonight and
play like like play their their butts off. No, they're
not dead.

Speaker 3 (33:38):
I here's one of these things like if I'm gonna
do that same question I did on Monday, I should
ask the same question again Tuesday about the momentum of
that game.

Speaker 2 (33:45):
And seriously, like, this is not uh low hanging fruit.

Speaker 3 (33:48):
This is not what we talked about with God's trying
to turn off the easy sports topics tegment that's sitting there.
It's true, like you have an emotional walk off victory
in front of your home crowd and then you have
an absolute can't jump the next day, where if a
ball is hit to somebody, we'll do the old Little
League stock becau. The lit League World Series is going
on right now. Is this one of those moments where
please don't hit the ball to me, Please don't hit
the ball to me, Please don't make me make a decision.

Speaker 2 (34:08):
I don't think those guys have that mindset as pro athletes.

Speaker 3 (34:12):
But when now it's two and a half back of
teams that are playing a lot better, Atlanta looked awful.
You know, Atlanta almost feels like the Yankees. The Yankees
had that rough stretch there in June and July where
they look like one of the worst teams in baseball.
Atlanta had that same situation going on about three weeks ago,
a month ago, and now they've won three straight and
everybody's stepping up. I want to give a love to
our guy Andres Stantilo, one of the voices of the

(34:33):
Albany Firebirds, who said, next man up. It's true like
Atlanta figured it out. Atlanta's got some depth and they're
back in it. So they're seasons not over, but they've
got to fix the car piece some things together. It's
it's closer to being over than being in the postseason. Today,
especially twenty four hours after a big win.

Speaker 2 (34:55):
Not great, but again not over. And then if you're
the Mets fans like as much is like I'm down
on it at the moment. I think you just knowing
that you didn't the moves weren't being made this year,
like having that, I mean, you didn't have the full rangers.
Here's a letter about why we're not gonna win for
a little while. But you kind of made they kind
of made it clear like we're not gonna pass on

(35:16):
great deals. But at the same time, we're gonna we're
gonna recoup some income, we're gonna we're gonna get through
losing money to some of these guys who aren't even
here anymore. Uh, and then we're gonna go about our
We're gonna go about our business and come after it.
I think you take whatever you can get out of
this year and you enjoy it, Like the Yankees are
completely different animal and and something that you know over time,

(35:37):
I will probably talk about that coming up. But oh no,
not not terrible, you know, just it was a terrible
It's a terrible mess that that that lost you the game.
But you were so close and and you you could
have You could have had it, you could have been there,

For a hundred your overall hatred of old people, she
looks great for one hundred and five. I'll give her that.
She looks fan. You know, none of us a gonna
look to one hundred and five, right, She's the only
one that we know. I plan on it. I plan
on it.

Speaker 3 (41:30):
I talked, I texted you about this the other day. Okay,
hear my death plans.

Speaker 2 (41:35):
I don't want to make it dark, but we've this
first time. I've already my gosh, I'll make it darker,
keep it dark.

Speaker 3 (41:40):
I'm going frozen. I'm going frozen. Austin Powers, Ted Williams,
Walt Disney. I don't know what's happened to the other two,
But what do you What are you.

Speaker 2 (41:48):
Going to give to the world? You know, fifty years
from your death, hot takes Hot takes. Maybe that's why
I can't hot taking. I think again, I think with you.
We just put a bunch like cliche sports takes in
a magic a Paul was shaking up and your kids
can check out what it would dad be thinking all
the time. In my mind, I thought this would be
an amazing thing.

Speaker 3 (42:08):
I'd come back when technology catches up thousands of years
from now. It seems like you just twisted that to
like a Ripley's Believer or not. This is called a
radio host. What did they do back in twenty twenty four? Listen, kids,
who's the goat? Who's the goat? Who's the goat?

Speaker 2 (42:26):
I am just a cave man. I merely sleep. Was frozen?

Speaker 3 (42:30):
Most important game of the season, most important. My plans
are to be frozen, so I.

Speaker 2 (42:35):
Mean Sister Jean.

Speaker 3 (42:36):
I probably might meet up with her at some point.
Those are my plans. I heard things expensive, but for real,
I'd like to be frozen when it's all said and done.

Speaker 2 (42:43):
The only plus of you being one hundred and five
is how much you hate old people that you'd have
to be one to become what you hate. Right, that's
my punishment. Yeah, you hate yourself. Happy birthday, Sister Jean,
one hundred and five, beautiful years.

Speaker 11 (42:58):
I want to no, not today.

Speaker 2 (43:01):
You know what I'd like to do? You know what
I give?

Speaker 3 (43:03):
A tempted me into this ninety skid uh Bert on
Twitter might be right. There's a few. I think it's
Teto on Twitter. There's a few of you who like
to tweet me about Wilt Chamberlain. I believe Sister Jean's
one hundred and five Okay, I'm gonna stick by it.

Speaker 2 (43:18):
Don't don't do it.

Speaker 3 (43:19):
I'm gonna stick to do it. But some people would ask, like,
how many one hundred and five year olds do you
know off the top.

Speaker 5 (43:24):
Of your head.

Speaker 2 (43:25):
I worked at a nursing home. I know a couple. Okay,
I think I knew one. Actually, I won't question her age.
Then I will say she's one hundred Why would you
lie about being a hundred and fine? I mean, one
hundred and five sounds way cooler than ninety five, doesn't it? No,
because do you want to be one hundred five? Really? Yes,
I just told you. I don't plan on checking out,

(43:45):
Oh I do. I'd like to be around as long
as possible. After after the backband I have from Disney,
you might I might be ready.

Speaker 3 (43:52):
To go now, I'd like to stick around for a while.
I think, yeah, a little while. I mean I'm not
ready really right now.

Speaker 2 (43:59):
But you know, like eighties, nineties, nineties, I think nineties
is the peak of the mountains with modern science.

Speaker 3 (44:07):
That's something I'd love to never find out about. Like
I think most people, like you just said, most people say,
you know, what if I make it to eighty, I'm good,
but you don't want to just have.

Speaker 2 (44:14):
The grim Reaper walk in your room and I go, hey, listen,
I don't need to take you right now. But in
all sincerity, your next five years suck. What do you
want to do? All right, let's go.

Speaker 3 (44:27):
Okay, you gotta get five more in you, but they're
gonna suck. Imagine you shut to your room. I've been
to your house before. Come on, the door's open you
you know what. It's like the worst version of the
sane scene ever.

Speaker 2 (44:37):
Alright, alright, let's go remember all the fun you had
joking about crowns may it'll be funny for you for
the next of the rest of your life. All right,
let's go.

Speaker 3 (44:49):
Happy birthday, sister Jean. You had you mentioned your vehicle earlier.
What happened about your vehicle?

Speaker 9 (44:56):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (44:57):
So, they they I think it's because of all the
extra wiring, because it's a black widow that they're having
like a deuce of a time putting it the right way.
So I still so all night and now even today,
I've got an EV trailblazer, so twenty twenty four electric trailblazer,
so you know, all runs on back. They had to

(45:19):
did you know I heard about this with Tesla's and
stuff like that back and the day. I didn't know
that it was a thing for all electric vehicles. They
add a noise to it while you're going slower. What
do you mean, so it's quiet, it's whisper quiet. So
what they've had to do because people walk into them
in like busy streets and stuff. Because you're going slower,

(45:40):
they've added a noise to it. So when you start it,
it doesn't there's no noise. When you start moving, all
of a sudden, it's like like, that's not the noise.
But it's something like that until you get to a
certain speed where it's like, oh, he's you're probably on
the highway and the noise goes away. It's the weirdest thing.
It's wow, it's you know, turn that off. We might

(46:02):
be able to survive a quiet place going for a drive.

Speaker 3 (46:05):
Well, Actuvlely has so many things going on, right you
mentioned that that you're driving around scar Job.

Speaker 2 (46:10):
It's been so cool it too.

Speaker 3 (46:12):
Everybody over there was fantastic. We were a mohawks Everly
yesterday and this happened. I think this is the biggest
compliment that I can offer the Mohawkschvroley's social media team.

Speaker 2 (46:19):
So last night, it's about.

Speaker 3 (46:20):
Like ten ten fifteen, I'm scrolling around about to start
Hard Knocks.

Speaker 2 (46:25):
But everyone does the scroll and I'm like, all right,
let's start it.

Speaker 3 (46:29):
But then I saw on Instagram The Dealership new episode,
and I'm like, I can watch this later. And then
I stopped watched it and said, this is it like
Grace of the Team. If you have not watched The Dealership,
it is funnier. And you know how hard it is
to get funnier funny every episode when you're just creating
social content, they keep raising the bar mohawks. Everly, if

(46:50):
you love mohawks, be evly find out somehow, some way.
If you love the Office, they're nailing it every single time.
Although I acted very jealous, childish, childish yesterday demanding to
be on, I will say this. I wanted to text
Andy Glcher about how funny.

Speaker 2 (47:06):
He is in that episode.

Speaker 3 (47:07):
If you haven't seen it, I'm texting in the group
chat with He's very funny in that episode when he
does when he because the problem with Andy is he
doesn't have time to do that stuff.

Speaker 2 (47:16):
Andy's funny. Did There's one from a couple of years
back where we were getting ready to do a parade,
and so Nate wanted to practice the parade and everybody
laughed at him, so like I thought it was real.
So I met Nate in a parking lot to do
and it's just Nate, not and then and then we
go find Andy and like that, and now it's all

(47:37):
a joke from there and Andy starts doing like pretending
he's leading the parade, and we catch it on tape
and it's so and I say something. I don't remember
what I said to him, but it's an older video
if you go find it. I say something to him
and he just fired back with you're at that's pretty funny.
And you will laugh when Andy and Darius Prince get

(47:58):
into it. I used to think Mike Corda and Darius
Princess fights were the funniest things I've ever seen. It's
Andy and Darius. Those two are ridiculous, Like it's it's
so funny. But he has a pivotal role in the dealer.
Shit does give it a role and you're thinking, like, ah, man,
he might blow this and just crushes it. It's really good. Yeah,
no's he's a funny dude. And I'm not just saying
that because Scar Joe's in his repair bay right now

(48:21):
getting old new wiring and a new connel cover added,
and I'm hoping that he's gonna be merciful with the bill.
Not just saying it for that reason. No, but very Yeah.
Would you drive an ev electric vehicle? I'll give it
a shot.

Speaker 3 (48:37):
I might get a little confused, I might see things
that are different, but I would definitely give it a shot.

Speaker 2 (48:40):
I want to try it. The technology is insane. The
rearview mirror is a camera. So it's like I go
to look at the rearview mirror to see how my
hair is, you know, like like like like people shouldn't
and I'm not there, and I'm like, what the hell
am I a vampire? Oh? It's a camera. It's it's
it's neat. It's it's a neat thing. I I don't
know if I could fully swear off asileine vehicles just yet,

(49:01):
but I definitely would look into adding an electric vehicle
into the UH into my fleet, which would i'd have
to add to have a fleet. But you know what
I'm saying, I figure how many fleet clete? Yeah? I
get the I'll get personalized play like Love Action one,
Love Action two. Here's yeah, I don't hate that. Well,

(49:22):
bat chokes come with that. It just becomes way too easy.
I'm gonna give Mattel and Fisher Price some credit. Figured
out the newest way to brainwash your kids and the
liking your favorite football team from the rip. They're offering
team based little people these little the little People toys

(49:43):
and they're all based on your your favorite team. This
is pretty cool of act. So here's the problem though,
Certain teams must not have signed up for actual players.
So like your Buccaneers, it's in a box. It is
fire the Cannons very cool, there's no like player zero
zero zero zero. But the fans are like what you
goofy fans would look like same with the Raiders, but

(50:03):
like some of them have like the actual numbers for
their best players and stuff, like if you do the.

Speaker 7 (50:10):
Eagles, it's.

Speaker 2 (50:14):
It's it's the actual guys. So it's like with the
one and everything A J.

Speaker 9 (50:21):
Brown.

Speaker 2 (50:22):
Brown's got the helmet on, and the same with a
bunch of different teams. But like it's I mean, how
do you not get these? Like how do you not
go buy these herrects. I mean they're sold out right now.
That's what That's why forty nine ers faithful. It's it's
Deebo and Kittle, Like Petty McCaffrey looked like it was
all for right there. That's pretty cool. Yeah, fans got gold.

(50:46):
Pain in the face Ry Chris mccaf that was weird.
That was a weird. One was Joe Burrow Jamar Chase
for the Bungles And it says Whode on the packaging,
So Joe Burrow's flow.

Speaker 3 (50:57):
Look at that about this is like, it's a mix
between what you're showing me this could be the new
big thing for young sports fans, and mixed between collectibles
and action figures, Like, uh, how do you describe this?
There are certain things I'm learning as a young father
here that I'm like, Okay, when I was a kid,
I really liked this.

Speaker 2 (51:15):
But because so much of.

Speaker 3 (51:16):
The world has changed, will a person or a little
kid still like what I liked thirty years ago? Wrestling
buddies score that's been awesome? Uh.

Speaker 2 (51:26):
Action figures Von Miller and Josh All von Miller's glasses
on shouts on the case. But like we're almost to
the action figure spot. We're close.

Speaker 3 (51:38):
But Santa Claus brought the NFL helmets last year, the collectibles,
and he absolutely loves it, like him to wear no
no no, but like the like the like Toya ones.

Speaker 2 (51:50):
But he knows the teams. He's into it. It's super cool.

Speaker 5 (51:53):
That's better.

Speaker 3 (51:54):
That's better because if you get the teams plus probably
a lot more expensive than the And then he hands
it down, yeah, to West all good stuff. And then
Wes hands it down to Trace whereby baby tray.

Speaker 2 (52:05):
We're we're gonna hear the point now that I think
the next tray, the next.

Speaker 3 (52:08):
Stuff that's coming is like the costage tray is the
combination of that plus the wrestling belt action figures like
it's gonna get close this Christmas. Of he was walking
around the other day with a belt.

Speaker 2 (52:20):
When do you start buying the presence that you want,
like go getting the official wrestling belts that's.

Speaker 3 (52:25):
Lower on the list than the PS five, which I
feel like is coming today.

Speaker 2 (52:29):
It's not coming today.

Speaker 3 (52:31):
Thursday, I told you I got some cash in my wallet,
which I'm not used to Thursday. I gotta don't like
that Montana state line as much as I did the
other day.

Speaker 2 (52:39):
But it's on the way.

Speaker 3 (52:40):
But those are really cool gifts. It's always cool to
find ways to wait brainwash. You know, this is how
you share what you love with them Early Paw Patrol.
You mentioned this earlier the track season that episodes I
believe airing next week, might even be airing this weekend,
depending on how you watch it if you're on Paramount
plus Slime Time.

Speaker 2 (52:55):
Huge fan of that.

Speaker 3 (52:55):
I hope that comes back to the fourth season. That's
a fun way for NFL fans.

Speaker 2 (52:59):
My show was in the NBA.

Speaker 3 (53:00):
The Inside Stuff, excuse me, Inside Stuff Inside the NBA
is the famous TNT show. But that stuff works like
if it's cool, it connects cartoons and stuff kids are
into with sports. We talked about Backyard Baseball yesterday and
that whole series coming back. Those are all great things
for parents and young sports fans, grandparents, everything else to connect.

Speaker 2 (53:18):
How that will break your heart If Rex doesn't want
to play backyard Baseball with you, I have a feeling
he's gonna not want to play it. Why because that
goes to.

Speaker 3 (53:29):
What I was just talking about minutes ago, Like I
thought it was cool, Like I feel like this is
like the version of like techmobile for some parents, like
the kid you have. You remember as a kid that
was a cool technology. But I wonder if that's just
tacked out.

Speaker 5 (53:43):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (53:44):
I don't know if you know what I mean by that,
to get him younger than when when you liked it. Yeah,
maybe that's the way to do it.

Speaker 3 (53:49):
I don't know if that's a game that just aged
out for a group, like, hey, you can play this,
look at like the guys are moving all right, like
baseball cars. I feel like it's an easy example of that,
like a young older sports saying love baseball cards. Yeah, now,
I can just look it up on the internet. It
doesn't have that sports illustrates another great example, like I
love reading the side. I wonder if Backyard Sports might
phase out. I will still play it though, whether I

(54:11):
found involved.

Speaker 2 (54:12):
Yeah, I found out that a game that I love,
a game franchise I love, has another one coming out.
They did. They dropped the teaser yesterday, Borderlands four. I
don't know if the movie's gonna be any good. I
don't think the movie's gonna be any good if I'm
being perfectly honest.

Speaker 3 (54:25):
What wait a second, So Borderland Sports coming out of
the same week the movie's coming out.

Speaker 2 (54:29):
I thought you thought the movie was gonna be a teaser.
The teasers, the teasern the movies. The game is coming
out in twenty five. You get add to your wishless
on stem and extreme steaming epic.

Speaker 11 (54:39):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (54:41):
No, the reason I don't think the movie's can be
good is they had it. It's been done for a while. Historically,
when when a movie's been done and they hold on
to it because they're cherry a pick and who it
goes against, it's because they don't think it's good enough
to take down a big movie. And I just I
think Portlands is such a funny game, like if the
villains are all funny everybody, Like if if you ever
play I think it was two two two is handsome

(55:03):
Jack Moorlands two. Handsome Jack is the best villain ever.
He says the funniest things. He's so evil it's hysterical,
and he just talks so much smack. It's great. But
like I don't it's hard to replicate that.

Speaker 3 (55:15):
So that's as you mentioned sat in the can. We'll
use that term sat in the can for a while,
like about a year, which.

Speaker 2 (55:21):
Is I think it's it could I think it could
have come out earlier. The beginning of this show and
it's gonna be an action comedy.

Speaker 5 (55:26):
Is that it's out.

Speaker 2 (55:27):
I believe it came out on the on the ninth.

Speaker 3 (55:29):
Okay, So if it's out now and it came out
in August, usually that's an odd spot. Like if you
want to be a summer blockbuster or a summer movie
of the summer August, you don't want to do it
because he missed obviously most of the months. If you like,
I think the Avengers movie should come out in May.
I think your theory is spot on on that it's just.

Speaker 2 (55:45):
Historically that's that's that's bit me in the butt. Yeah,
it's out. You can go watch it. I wanted to
see it. I definitely want to see it. I just
but no before it's gonna be awesome. I can tell
you the games are awesome because the games are so different,
they look different, they're well and it's not good for kids.
Had a buddy of mine ask me today, can I

(56:06):
take my son to see Deadpool and Wolverine. I said no, no,
you may not. It's a rated don't do it. Don't
let your kids play borderlandes. But the adults who like
video games or you know later you know mid teens
who can handle that kind of stuff. It's it's the
comedy of it and the whole last one. It's like

(56:27):
this running chili thing going on where you're killing. Like
one of the bad guys said, oh my chili can
carneie recipe dies with me? Like you just hear that
randomly from the from the groups of bad guys, like
just stupid stuff like that. That just cracks me up.
But yeah, that's they did the teaser video for Bordlands four.

Speaker 3 (56:42):
If you've seen Border Lanes, let us know at the
Jefflevac at Tom gonzkimgz if it's good or not. We

Speaker 2 (01:02:26):
Yeah, it's I got We got a little more insulation,
a little more padding than you do. Yeah, all right,
so you're getting ready for it? How how how has
this lead up to the travers been so far? That's
been good.

Speaker 38 (01:02:38):
It feels like a little bit of a different process
considering the torpedo and a story has really captivated so
many people that it does feel like we've been talking
about the travers in all earnesty you know, uh, in
all honestly since since July, which is which is great
because it's obviously the highlight of the annual summer. Meat
always feels like a special sort of holiday here in

(01:03:01):
upstate New York. You know, later in August, lots of
people from around the country have already gone home to
go back to school and back to work, so as.

Speaker 11 (01:03:07):
Fortunate folks who are still here. What a day racing?

Speaker 38 (01:03:11):
It will be fourteen races, travers at about six '
ten live on Fox. Gates open at nine am, which
is a departure from the normal seven am. It's what
we did for the Belmont Stakes worked well, so we'll
do nine am. Gates open first Post eleven, twenty fourteen
races on a blockbuster card.

Speaker 9 (01:03:28):
Here.

Speaker 3 (01:03:28):
There is so much that's gonna happen over there some
of the next few days. Your schedule to Jonas on
Friday as well. I feel like from Wednesday to Friday,
more storylines a gonna happen. But before you even get there,
we have to go back a little bit. Okay, there's
been storylines happening involving Saratoga too. Let's talk about the
passing of John Hendrickson, the husband of Mary Lou Whitney.
Throughout your career, had you had the opportunity to work
with him, and what did he mean to Saratoga?

Speaker 11 (01:03:49):
Yes, they did.

Speaker 38 (01:03:50):
I mean John carried the torch for Mary loose since
her passing, but even before that, he was as instrumental
as anyone in highlighting the backstretch can community all that
they do to make racing possible. He created programs to
support the backstretch community here at Saratoga when they're here
for the season, and those are the men and women
who are taking care of the horses day in, day out.

Speaker 11 (01:04:13):
They really are the backbone of the sport.

Speaker 38 (01:04:14):
And without Mary the Whitney and John Hendrix his contributions
to that conversation, especially among their peers, people from Kentucky
and Florida who may come in and out for the
season and love to spend time in Saratoga. But you know,
the work that John did since Mary Lew's passing is

(01:04:35):
to be applauded. We honored him with a moment of
silence today right after the first race. And there's a
beautiful new healthcare clinic on the backstretch on the Oklahoma
side of this venue that he is almost single handedly
responsible for. It's a new, modern, permanent building where those
seasonal workers have access to world class healthcare throughout the year.

(01:04:58):
So that was a sudden and rather shocking passing at
just fifty nine years old. Our condolences not just NYRAT,
but really the entire racing community here in New York State.
We will miss John Hendrickson. He was a constant during
Whitney Week throughout the year. He was opinionated, he was
funny and we'll miss him.

Speaker 2 (01:05:19):
Pat McKenna with us right now in Fox Sports Radio
ninety five, nine nine eighty and the you know, I've
been lucky enough to get like the tours through the
backstretcher and all that stuff. It's it's a community back there. Yeah,
it's it's it's not the group of people you would
expect the rich people to even maybe concern themselves with it.
So it's even more it's even more admirable that he
died that he did and it meant so much for him.

Speaker 11 (01:05:42):
Yeah, without a doubt, And it is a community.

Speaker 38 (01:05:44):
Belmont Park is a small town Saratoga during the summer season,
but really some listeners may not be familiar with the
fact that we're open here from April through mid November.
Some of our biggest and best trainers are here as
their base of operations starting in April, not when the
attention and turns to Saratoga in the middle of July.
And the community of women and men that work so

(01:06:06):
hard to support Saratoga, to support Belmont Park. They're seeking
a better life. They are coming from all over the world,
supporting their families wherever they may be, and we never
take that for granted because without those, without that community,
none of this, what we're doing on the front side,

(01:06:28):
is possible. So again a credit to Mary Lou Whitney,
who kept Saratoga alive in the late seventies and early
eighties when there was a real question about its viability
as a world class racing venue, and she went to
her sort of peers in that rarefied world and convinced
them to come to Saratoga, support Saratoga, look at what

(01:06:51):
you know, what I'm doing, and emulate this. So she's
the queen, and we will certainly miss John Hendrickson here
at Saratoga, and we will look to honor him again
on Saturday in a fitting in appropriate way.

Speaker 3 (01:07:05):
It's such a compliment that so many people, whether you're
from Saratoga, you're from the Capitol region, you're outside, you're visiting,
understand the impact of what people could have on this community.
And we understand the tradition that is Saratoga when it's
sons and daughters and grandparents.

Speaker 2 (01:07:18):
Everybody understanding that.

Speaker 3 (01:07:20):
And it almost unfortunately it's worked like this because the
plan was to honor somebody else who had a huge
impact on New York and this was Funny Side and
everything involving Funny Side in twenty twenty four take us
through the honoring of Funny Side of what Saratoga's impact
will be for that.

Speaker 38 (01:07:34):
Yeah, and although Funny Side, I believe it or not,
I actually never ran here at Saratoga Race Course. He
obviously captured the attention of the sports world. What a
great story, the gutsy gelding a sort of a more relatable,
middle class, blue collar group of guys to follow us
on a Funny Side around that Triple Crown trail. That's
something that racing fans will never forget. That's obviously something

(01:07:56):
that the good people at Sakatoga's stable will never forget.
Put a grave site. They scattered some of his remains
in that area just inside of the clubhouse entrance, and
we most recently took some steps to ensure that that
area remains clean and in a way that properly honors
Funny Side. Put up some fencing when encourage fans if

(01:08:18):
they see that area, obviously read the plaque, pay your respects.
But not a great place to put the picnic chairs
and toss those empty beer cans. So hope fans will
appreciate that. But it is a really it's a unique
honor to be able to have a site on the
front side, as opposed to in clear court where so
many fewer people will have the opportunity access and remember

(01:08:40):
some of those highlights.

Speaker 2 (01:08:42):
Oh fabricas with us right now, right, So as everybody's
planning four travers, the schedule gates at nine, but when
the cart starts early, right.

Speaker 38 (01:08:51):
Yep, gates open at nine o'clock first post eleven twenty
and there are fourteen races on the cart, fourteen as
opposed to thirteen. Because in part at least that cancelation
a few weeks back, we're still adding races. The demand
among horsemen is obviously there. Uh so we're we're filling
a ton of races. It should be a really great

(01:09:11):
concluding a couple of weeks here.

Speaker 2 (01:09:14):
I was gonna say this.

Speaker 3 (01:09:14):
Tony Olivado said this to us earlier, to amongst a
lot of he made it.

Speaker 11 (01:09:19):
Oh yeah, okay, it.

Speaker 9 (01:09:22):
Was.

Speaker 2 (01:09:22):
It might have been his greatest appearance ever. He guys,
is under the table at one point from the beating.

Speaker 3 (01:09:28):
He no, all right, life had decisions, shark tank ideas.
He did say this spot, you don't have to even
answer this. You can hold this answer till Froddy Okay
his sentence. He's been a part of Nyron Myra Bets.

Speaker 38 (01:09:43):
He believes we got we got to ny right about
the same time. Tony preceded me by just a few months,
So we got here about twenty sixteen.

Speaker 11 (01:09:49):
I'll set that up for you.

Speaker 2 (01:09:50):
So this might need two days to figure this question out. Linger.

Speaker 3 (01:09:55):
He claims this is the best Travers field he's ever seen.

Speaker 2 (01:09:59):
I would agree with that. Okay, there you go.

Speaker 38 (01:10:02):
Yeah, and with with the addition of Torpedo Anna, the
Philly trying to win the Travers for the first time
since nineteen fifteen, first Philly to enter the Yates knock
on Wood since Wonder Godot in twenty eighteen, Yeah, I
would agree with with with Tony and that. I think
it's a it's a it's an incredibly interesting field that

(01:10:23):
it feels like obviously we have the breeders Cup and
the rest of it, but it does kind of feel
like the culmination of this three year old, three old colts,
culmination of the Triple Crown right here at Saratoga where
everyone wants to win.

Speaker 11 (01:10:34):
I'd rather win the travers in the Kentucky Derby.

Speaker 2 (01:10:36):
You heard it here, Okay, I mean I'd rather win
any of them. I just I just don't run that fast. Yeah,
it's you know, I try. I try.

Speaker 38 (01:10:44):
Sorry, we'll pop down in the phasic tipped and sales
grounds and see what we can do.

Speaker 2 (01:10:47):
All right, I mean we'll start. We'll start going there.

Speaker 11 (01:10:50):
But you got a kiddie, those bats aren't gonna cut it.

Speaker 3 (01:10:53):
I gotta try A fifty center coming up here, boys,
three dollars total?

Speaker 2 (01:10:57):
Bet all right, guys, opened as Walton. I have money,
and so I don't think it's really you may I'd
be the guy that we.

Speaker 11 (01:11:02):
Need cash money a surprise.

Speaker 3 (01:11:04):
I was stunned. I don't even know if it's my money.
I'm concerned. What happened this week?

Speaker 2 (01:11:07):
To six eight here? Pat McCann scent, try in back
the box, all right?

Speaker 11 (01:11:12):
Get to six eight, Dylan, that's right, and nine to two.
That'll pay you at least three dollars.

Speaker 9 (01:11:18):
There we go.

Speaker 2 (01:11:20):
The Bax's birthday is Monday, so a little eight six.
Those are Tony's numbers.

Speaker 11 (01:11:24):
Dylan Davis on Monday that is August twenty sixth.

Speaker 2 (01:11:28):
Correct. Yeah, this is the first year I'll be local
for for the travelers in a very very long time.
Nice because I went I had to go on vacation.
My daughter told My.

Speaker 38 (01:11:37):
Daughter turned seven just yesterday, which was great. Yeah, she
had a really fun day. She loved Saratoga. She was
born August twentieth, that was twenty seventeen. So I was
up here for just looking ahead to Travers week and
got the call at about ten o'clock at night and
got my way down to the big city.

Speaker 2 (01:11:54):
She's, man, what a crazy world. And then I said,
mine's mine's twenty one. Now getting ready for how crazy
it's gonna be a fourteenth pose it right there if
you if you can, that's what you need to do
here you all right, So I'm not gonna ask you
win the Travers because I know everybody's gonna tell I
gonna wait until I'm gonna wait until Friday to hear that. Okay,
But just you know what, what's the rest of your week?

(01:12:15):
Like each ye at.

Speaker 38 (01:12:17):
This point in the meet, it's sort of each day
each day at the time, some incoming, some planning. Fortunately,
this is a meet and specifically a Travers that we
start planning for, you know, six.

Speaker 11 (01:12:28):
Months in advance. Again, I've said it before.

Speaker 38 (01:12:30):
You guys have heard me say it many times, but
having the Belmont Stakes up here in early June really
really allowed us to see what this place is like,
filled to capacity, see some extraom extra extra bathroom trailers
scattered throughout the facility. But of a test run for
next year's Belmont, that was uh. Fortunately it was one

(01:12:51):
of the only real logistical of operational issue because I
think there are more people physically here on Velmont Day
than at any point in the history of that You.

Speaker 2 (01:13:00):
So, but is it gonna be capped at fifty thousand?
Oh my god, sorry, let me let me just spit
it out.

Speaker 38 (01:13:10):
The capacity of Saratoga Racecourse is fifty thousand fans, whether
that's a Wednesday in July or Travers Day late in August.

Speaker 2 (01:13:20):
Walk around for every media hit, I feel like I'm.

Speaker 38 (01:13:24):
One other thing about the Travers that actually has probably mean,
I feel like I'm the lone the lone voice on
this the Midsummer Derby Moniker. Yeah, this is late summer, right, right,
it's the Midsummer Classic. The Ulcar game is Midsummer Classic,
because that's about July tenth, anywhere as late in the
summer as you could possibly be. And yet maybe it

(01:13:44):
was the attraction to connect us to the derby at
some point. I'm gonna wager that that's a name that
really only came into existence maybe in the eighties or nineties.
I doubt that our forefathers Herega Racecourse, so to speak,
would have deemed it the late Summer Derby.

Speaker 11 (01:14:00):
Sorry, the Midsummer Derby.

Speaker 2 (01:14:01):
Right, that actually sounds better though, the late Summer Classic
or late like that. There's nothing wrong with that started,
but then people have to admit that summer's coming to
a close, and they won't do that. But but as
as somebody who has in August twenty sixth birthday, I
can tell you not a lot of pool parties fla
my birthday.

Speaker 38 (01:14:18):
I mean, we'll get another hot we'll get probably get
another hot spell at some point early September, at some point.

Speaker 2 (01:14:22):
But we always get that fake, that fake summer.

Speaker 11 (01:14:24):
That comes back and yeah, yeah, exactly, all right, so.

Speaker 2 (01:14:27):
We'll get we'll get you back here on a Friday.

Speaker 11 (01:14:28):
We're gonna get absolutely good the have you guys here
on a Wednesday afternoon.

Speaker 2 (01:14:31):
And I promise I will. I'll try not to enjoy
asking you if it's captive fifty.

Speaker 38 (01:14:35):
Oh am, I gonna I have to pick him on Friday. Yeah, yeah, okay,
I mean if you want to go now, you can
know I'm gonna hold off because I want to top four.
I think top three, Top three. Yeah, top three.

Speaker 11 (01:14:46):
Well, that can happen between now and Friday and then.

Speaker 2 (01:14:48):
And then guys will pick. What's we off the finish
off the screen.

Speaker 3 (01:14:52):
Here's six, here we go, Yeah, Bucket, your daughter is
born in August Levak's daughter and also born in August.
Push Gifts Lily and David Fine Juliers is the spot

Speaker 2 (01:15:03):

Speaker 3 (01:21:10):
We've got a new starting quarterback named in the NFL
and it comes from Denver. Sean Payton has connffirmed that
rookie quarterback Bone Knicks with the team starting quarterback when
the season kicks off Week one for Denver. But back
bone Knicks an interesting college career, to say, at least
a very unique career.

Speaker 2 (01:21:26):
Started as a true freshman at Auburn. His dad.

Speaker 3 (01:21:29):
The connections there struggled. The Auburn fan base really never
embraced them as maybe the family and even bo Knicks
had hoped. Transfers to Oregon. Becomes a different player, plays
a long time at Oregon. For perspective, Kyle Pitts enters
his fourth season in the NFL. He's younger than bone Nicks,
but bon Knicks a different quarterback. I told you this

(01:21:50):
when I covered him at New York City or the
Heisman this year. Besides Joe Burrow, nobody impressed me more
handling the media with bon Nicks and the quote that
stands out to me he had seven different offensive coordinators
in seven years. Very Alex Smith. Like h Levaci, you're
a fan of the AFC West's Vegas Raiders, what if
at all?

Speaker 2 (01:22:10):
Do you think this move means for the Broncos and
was it the rain move? Yeah, I think it is,
and I think I think this is this is gonna
be a good team. They're They're not my favorites. I
don't like them. They're sticky pooh pooh there. Their stadium
is covered in goose poop. But I do like bow
Nickx's future, and I like Sean Payton smart. What Champaynon

(01:22:31):
thinks is right for the offense is right. I know
you don't like Sean Payton, which tells me he's even
smarter than I thought he was.

Speaker 3 (01:22:38):
The problem with Sean Payton, it's double for those who
forgot one. I'm a Buccaneer fan, so I rooted against
the Saints and Sean Payton completely changed that franchise and
Drew Brees and led them be a super Bowl and
they were always good. The problem had with Sean Payton
is how he's treated to the local media in Denver.
He's arrogant, he's cocky, he's all those things. And even
like he did this in the draft where he was

(01:22:58):
rubbing it in people's face, I think it was the Raiders.

Speaker 5 (01:23:00):
I think, oh, you know what, we tricked the Raiders.

Speaker 3 (01:23:03):
Into thinking we weren't gonna take bone Nicks, but we
really took boon Nicks. He could not wait to tell
anybody post draft about what he had done. He turned
into this like I did TV for a while and
I could do this better view. That's my hate against
Sean Payton. But as for the bon Knicks decision, he's awesome.
I'm such a bone Knicks fan. I had him second
of the Heisman Trophy this season. You can't deny how

(01:23:24):
good he was. If you want to criticize bone Knicks
for what potentially he could be in the NFL, the
best example is Kenny Pickett. Kenny Pickett was a Heisman
Trophy final. I don't remember mix his hand size off
the top of my head, but I know Kenny Pickett
had a very similar path, right, Kenny Pickett wasn't supposed
to be the Cantus prospect. Oh wait a second, maybe

(01:23:46):
he's not that good. Then he had more years in
college than he was older. Then he was the first
round pick, and then he wasn't good quick. You know,
it's actually really difficult for people to struggle in Pittsburgh.
You don't hear a lot of bust come out of Pittsburgh,
but he did, so if you want to, I don't
think bo Nix is good because he reminds me of
Kenny Pickett. It may not be too far off, but
I've got a lot more faith in what's going on

(01:24:07):
with boon Nick's performance on the field than Kenny Pickett.
I think if you're a Bronco fan, be very excited.
I think it What it comes down to is what
is the what's the future of the quarterback position.

Speaker 2 (01:24:17):
In the NFL? Is it is it let these players
develop and watch what they can become. Or are we
looking at a group of guys who are drafted at
twenty four, twenty three, and twenty four years old because
you know what, they just weren't good enough to get
into the NFL before that. I mean, that's what that's
the question. That's that's the only way I see him

(01:24:38):
not working is if that's the case.

Speaker 3 (01:24:39):
Combo that with the nil right, Yep, all of a
sudden you have COVID nil age. There's like a bunch
of factors that I'll work into that situation of do
I want to be a fourth round pick and make
four hundred thousand dollars, or do I want to be
a star in college and make four hundred thousand dollars.
You almost want to take the money when you can
get it and not risking all the other things that
can happen. I like Bone, And if you're a fantasy

(01:25:01):
football manager with your drafts on the way, that's a
dynasty keeper situation. I don't think you're gonna draft him
the body stretch. But if you're in those two quarterback leagues,
you're in a dining sty league. At least a flyer
in a late rounte for that. Let's move on to
store number three. Major League Baseball action around the league
not involving New York teams actually going on right now.
Red Sox leading the Astros three to one, Pirates and

(01:25:23):
Rangers still scoreless heading to the bottom of the seventh,
and the White Sox. Everybody hang on. The White Sox
are winning right now to nothing over the San Francisco Giants.
Other games of note tonight include Diamondbacks and Marlins and Reds,
Blue Jays, Phillies Braves.

Speaker 2 (01:25:42):
Those matchups.

Speaker 3 (01:25:42):
I want to focus in on Phillies Braves because there
is a connection there that series. There, I am Bryce Harper,
can't wait. This is gonna be a big time for Harper.
He's gonna get out of his slop. Feel good about it.

Speaker 2 (01:25:53):
First three at bats, three strikeouts.

Speaker 3 (01:25:55):
Aaron Nola on the Mount Tonight, Phillies Braves, Braves look
so much better than Philadelphia last night. That's the series
that jumps out to me for the non New York
teams the back is it Philly's brains for you?

Speaker 2 (01:26:05):
Or any other matchup you've got an eye on on
this Wednesday night of baseball? Could the Dodgers play tonight?
The Dodgers play the Mayors? The first bitch I need
Showeyo Towny hit a home run, So that's what I'm on.
I'm on that game. I'm I'm I know we were
gonna get deeper into the Yankees at some point, even
though I don't need to. I'm as deep as I
want to be in that nonsense of bullpen and no

(01:26:26):
ability to hit with Rodgers in the scoring position, Playaron
Judge Jan Soto both hit home runs last night. They
get a double from Judge later and and lose the
longest game of the season so far. So normally the
Yankees would be where I want to be, But right now,
I just want to win money. So I want to
see Showyo Tony hit a home run tonight. That circus
freak better get it done at three tell them off.

Speaker 3 (01:26:49):
Hear that Flarity on the mount for the Dodgers tonight
as well. That should be an interesting matchup out there
on the West Coast. Let's move on a story number two.

Speaker 2 (01:26:56):
U you know what I want to read?

Speaker 3 (01:26:57):
Lead off with Robert on social media, Robert sums U up.
Robert did something a little bit different than I don't
see very often on Twitter. He tweeted at me, then I.

Speaker 2 (01:27:06):
Didn't reply to him quick enough. Then to followed up
with the second tweet fifteen.

Speaker 3 (01:27:11):
Minutes later to make sure I saw his tweet. Robert wrote, Hey, guys,
while you were busy bashing the Mets, they just beat
your Orioles. By the way, while you're busy bashing the Mets,
they took two of three from your Orioles. You're welcome.
That's right after baseball action today. The Mets beat the
Orioles today four to three. The final, the Mets walk

(01:27:31):
off winners bottom of the ninth. They're able to come
up the Orioles are fine.

Speaker 2 (01:27:36):
Hey, by the way, Jesse Jesse Winker home run dead
center field. That's right. Two of the three games the
Mets won walk off home runs. So are the Mets
the best team in New York since they swept the
Yankees and took two of three from the Orioles.

Speaker 5 (01:27:53):
No, they're not.

Speaker 2 (01:27:54):
I don't understand they're not. Don't understand your logic. The
Orioles have a better recreas the Yankees and Yankees against
the Orioles. The Mets swept the Yankees. To be the man,
you gotta beat the man. The Mets are the best
team in the year.

Speaker 3 (01:28:06):
I would say they are about eight games back of
both those teams for total wins this season, so that
that's a little harder for me to Oh.

Speaker 2 (01:28:13):
You're changing the goal bok. Poor Mets fan, it never
gets a fair shake from you. Ever.

Speaker 3 (01:28:19):
Robert probably believes that Robert her seconds flam around. That
was a wild series. Haven't that many loss? That wild
clip that happened on Tuesday Night? A fun series for
Orgason Mets fans, I'm trying.

Speaker 2 (01:28:34):
I mean, it's pretty good sign if if you're a
Mets fan, because the Orioles like all joking side, you
dug deep into your farm system. You you did everything
you could do bolst of the farm system. You're at
that point where it's starting to pay off. So you're
probably you're probably a year away or two years away
from the team that the Orioles just because everybody's so young.

(01:28:54):
They got seventy four wins the second you couldn't pull
away from the Yankee when the Yankees were in a
death knell swoon.

Speaker 3 (01:29:02):
Wait a second, I want to make sure I was right. Yeah,
the Oriels have the second most wins in baseball. Only
the Dodgers think this is the best version of the Orioles.
Are you about a year or two away from the
best version of the Orioles. I want to answer the
question that you asked me. However, I'm very cautious of
answering this. I know what you're getting that here. Yes
is your answer.

Speaker 2 (01:29:21):
I'm gonna give you. Yes, the better version of the
Oars is on the way.

Speaker 3 (01:29:24):
However, I know and you and I have talked about
this club probably longer than he even intended for having
us talking about this club. Michael Ka when he said
that about the Yankees like eight years ago, six years ago.
So I know, even though that answer might be true,
that the overall ranking, the overall team might be better
just because you have a better team, whether it's injuries,

(01:29:45):
whether it's a draw in the postseason, whether it's how
you finish the overall as we're fighting out the odds
dats that are coming through this year with total wins,
I Clemson football is always the best example of that.
Your team might be better, but you still draw. They're
gonna get in how they finished the last two games
of thet tell you while you're over thinking.

Speaker 2 (01:30:04):
That's my point was this Oriols team was built to
be max competitor within the next year or two, and
they're maybe ahead of schedule. The Mets are in a
full reset, preparing to basically rebuild, and they're right there
with you. So the Mets are in better shape than
a lot of people probably realize they are.

Speaker 7 (01:30:22):
That was my point.

Speaker 3 (01:30:23):
I thought at the end, there you're gonna say the
Mets are in a better spot than the Oriols. That's
where I thought you were gonna finish.

Speaker 2 (01:30:27):
I think they. I think they are simply because Coden
is gonna drop in the next couple of years. Yeah,
and that's why I think I'm a little bitter about
and Robert. We appreciate you being a part of the show,
although it.

Speaker 3 (01:30:37):
Just doesn't shake and said no right now, No, I'm
a little bitter just because I know Corbyn Burns is
probably gonna play there next season. I've accepted it, like
it's not he's gonna wear orange. He's probably gonna be
in New York met next season. Too many connections there,
and he's really really good. How does Baltimore keep doing
this to me? They could have just want Today We're
gonna move on to story number one. It's Guarding's Yankees

(01:30:58):
a game tonight. It's seven oh five, first pitch, Yankees
hosting the Guardians, as Levac mentioned, one of the longer
games of the baseball seon the longest game of the
baseball season. Nestor Cortes on the mound for the Bronx
Bombers tonight. This is the third time I know, off
the top of my head, where the New York Yankees
had played a long game against a top team in baseball.
It happened against the Guardians last night. We're here at

(01:31:20):
Sarah Tookuld happened against the Dodgers in the past. It
happened against the.

Speaker 2 (01:31:23):
Orioles in the past.

Speaker 3 (01:31:24):
Every time the Yankees have been tested against the best
things in baseball, it goes to extra innings. And I
joked around, I believe this is in the Belmont I said, Now,
Baseball's dumb rules about the player at second base.

Speaker 2 (01:31:37):
It feels like if you get a game to go
to x ratings, that should be like hockey and should
feel like a tie.

Speaker 3 (01:31:41):
If you want to be innovated with baseball rules and
just basically give the team the opportunity to speed up
the game, then there should be some type of tiebreaker
of this team played x amount of games in extra
indings this year, rather than the same record goes to
the one game wildcard to determine your season.

Speaker 2 (01:31:56):
Other sports like the NFL and more have actual tie breakers.

Speaker 3 (01:32:00):
So when I look at that Guardians Yankees, a good
matchup probably scheduled again for tonight involving both of those teams.

Speaker 2 (01:32:06):
Let's hope, I mean, and let's hope that the Yankees
hit with runners in the scoring position and the bullpen
doesn't poop its pants right in the middle of the
of the pitching mound. I hope the mound doesn't get
taller while the Yankees are out there, if you know
what I mean, that's what That's what I feel like, man,
that's what I feel like. I'm an unhappy Yankee fan
right now. I'm not gonna lie to you. I've seen
a lot of people trying to make good points about

(01:32:27):
the way they're built to get to the postseason. That's
what matters. The debt to debt to debt to debt
to death. Luis Hill was already on a pitch count.
He goes out, he comes out, he's got stiffness, he
has soreness. Uh, the bullpen. The first couple guys out
of the pen great, you know, the rest not so great.
And then in like one for sixteen with runners in

(01:32:49):
scoring position last night, one for sixty sixteen dudes got
in scoring position for the Yankees last night. It had
one hit when that happened, that's not very good. It's
not I would venture the other way, guys. I think
it's bad. Yeah, there's a hot take for you right there.
You guys weren't ready for that, were you. It's bad.

(01:33:09):
Live here at Saratoga Race Course, it's good here, it's good.
This is your last, your last race for today's Labagon
Guy's n IRA bets challenges coming up bumbentarily correct.

Speaker 3 (01:33:21):
Yeah, I gotta do this because now if I gotta
find a second play of the day, because this race
is gonna go off while we're gonna like me step aside. Here,
I've got the two six eight fifty cent trybox. This
is my last is my bonus bets today. Earlier in
the show, I did a seven dollars win bet on
a horse that I felt really good about. Did not
finish on the screen. You fired off a bet. Let

(01:33:42):
me make sure I got.

Speaker 2 (01:33:42):
My updated standings here.

Speaker 3 (01:33:44):
Let me update them because I'm three dollars down now
you fired off a bet as well.

Speaker 2 (01:33:47):
Did you update our standings yet? I didn't touch anything? Okay?
You had a three dollar bet, five five dollars bet. Okay,
that was that five dollars bonus money.

Speaker 3 (01:33:54):
Okay, So right now the stainings look like this before
this goes off again, two six eight trifecta box. Levac
is at sixty nine dollars and thirty five cents. Nice,
with two shows left to go this Friday and next Friday.
I'm currently at twenty seven dollars.

Speaker 2 (01:34:12):
And twenty cents. Striking distance. Now I'm calling that striking distance.
I think I bounced back coming up here. All right,
we'll find out, I mean we will find it in
the other challenge we're doing that. I'll talk more about
tomorrow morning on Picks when those six at eight twenty.
Uh the fact that your best day was accompanied by
my best day a couple of weeks ago. I you know,

(01:34:35):
I'm only hoping that, uh you know, this Friday, I
put up a performance that just outdoes you substantially. That's
what I'm hoping for. That's my goal. I'm reading against it. Yeah, well,
you know what I'd say I was, I'd say I
was a sleeper pick, but I'm I'm obviously the favorite.
Speaking of sleeping though, how about the Integrated Sleep Center
in Boss and Spa with Doctor Fred Dreer. Doc Dreer

(01:34:58):
is the man. He's the diplomatic Dental Sleep Medicine, so
he's a dentist. He's an amazing dentist. Took the time,
got the all the schooling, the certificates, everything where he
learned about the best ways to combat what is known
as obstructive sleep. Abney Obstructive sleep avenue is when you've
got something that blocks your airway while you're sleeping, causes
a great amount of snoring, causes you to you know,

(01:35:20):
not sleep and actually stop breathing. So that's a that's
a real issue a lot of people. The mask, that's
the way they go. Surgery, that's the way they go.
When I found out that they could help me out
with a mouthpiece, no hoses, no wires, easy to clean,
easy to travel with, I got extremely excited because all
those other things sounded painful and I didn't want to
do them. This has been perfect for me. It has

(01:35:41):
worked great for me. Is snoring is under control, the
sleeping is so much better. My energy level is higher,
and uh, you know, I don't stop breathing as much
during the night, which is always nice. Give them a
call five one eight eight eight five six five five
one eight eight eight five six one eight five Doctor
Fred Dreer and the Inegrave Sleep Center in Boss. This
father helped me sleep better. They're going to help you

(01:36:01):
sleep better as well. Play of the Day is coming

you do a big winner?

Speaker 5 (01:40:49):
Right there?

Speaker 2 (01:40:50):
You close the gap striking distance. That's my eyes are
deceiving me. Here, I feel like I got two of
the three horses. Oh better, exactness, you're good.

Speaker 3 (01:41:01):
No, No, I better try facta. It seems like the
rules are still you need all three of those horses.

Speaker 2 (01:41:06):
For a tri facta. Yeah, yeah, that's the thing. Even
if you box it, you still need them to come
in the top three. Yeah, so that didn't happen. Uh,
this TV is a little far away, but I think
it didn't happen when you said at TV's within striking distance.

Speaker 3 (01:41:21):
We're back to the drawing board Friday. We got two
more fridays to make this up. Here's the thing that
I don't want to have happened, and you lose like usual. Unfortunately,
we were approaching this the last two years we did this,
and you will back.

Speaker 2 (01:41:34):
You know this is true. The last two years we
did this, it.

Speaker 3 (01:41:38):
Came to and the COVID year too, it came down
to the final race the final day that no good
car backler, there's another horse that had it happened. I
don't think that's gonna happen this year, but we have
till Friday. Anything can happen.

Speaker 2 (01:41:55):
I'm gonna win, just straight through. No no, no, not now,
make an amazing comeback like usual. I feel good. That's right.
That's see you remembered. Usually I've got the lead early
and you strike it hit. Yep.

Speaker 3 (01:42:06):
That is not the case so far in twenty twenty four.
But I will find one. I got entrew Champagne. I
got closer. I got the people on my side. I
can field that starts tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (01:42:16):
You know they I can hear what they say too,
you know that right like I can. I can just
bet what you bet the rest of the way out,
block you out. It's amazing to think about.

Speaker 3 (01:42:24):
It's almost the same exact distance on the Nyer Bets
Challenge in the C four Challenge.

Speaker 2 (01:42:29):
I'm forty five dollars back on C four with just
two toor regards. What are the standings in the C
four because we I gotta go do that tomorrow morning.
I'll take a picture for you quickly and sent it
to you. Just tell us one eighteen seventy five is
the Maac.

Speaker 3 (01:42:42):
I'm at seventy three seventy twins at forty six fifty
and can Terra's at twenty bucks.

Speaker 2 (01:42:47):
And Canterra is the reigning defending champion, like he's the
guy who got it done last year. The big Old
trophy from awards by Walls just sitting on his desk,
the Big Old Football Trophy. More as my watsh to
sit on my I might need a bigger desk after this.

Speaker 3 (01:43:06):
Dollars, those are the magic numbers. Those are the magic numbers.
We're coming back.

Speaker 2 (01:43:11):
The boost that I got, the ten dollars boost that
we got today, we'll call it. Yeah, it didn't take
me anywhere.

Speaker 7 (01:43:16):
I see.

Speaker 2 (01:43:16):
I used five of it last week and it paid me. Yeah,
I used five of it today, don't So technically I
only lost half of it today. I still had already
won half of it before. But you know, hey, look man,
you're you're doing. You know we're doing. We're gonna do
the Sea four.

Speaker 9 (01:43:32):
Now.

Speaker 3 (01:43:33):
We're good at the moment. Appreciating the offer though. Yeah,
but the popcorn.

Speaker 2 (01:43:37):
Popcorn doesn't need popcorn, no, the Yeah, the Sea four,
the bank roll goes to charity. So that's good that
I'm I'm making more money there than we're making here
because here, this money only goes to us.

Speaker 3 (01:43:53):
So it's told my wife down and drove off today.
And that is so confident. I'm always confident. There's no
denying that I wanted to. I've never said like, oh
I don't know about this one or me. I have
full confidence on every wager that I fire off, even
if they're not good. Every even thought those moments there,
I thought they were.

Speaker 2 (01:44:10):
Still a chance.

Speaker 3 (01:44:10):
I left my house today, so confident. I looked at
my wife dead in the eyes and I said, don't forget.
We have two times a wager at Saratoga this week.
She goes, what does that mean. I go, we have
a double boost, so I can wager today and Friday
with my own money. So I'll be coming back with
money in my pocket. She said, great, you can buy dinner.
So tell her what do I tell her?

Speaker 2 (01:44:31):
That's like you tell her tell her about all those
poor kids, those Boston Red Sox fans that only get
free food at the ninety nine when when the Red
Sox win, it's like, hey, tweety, it doesn't happen very often.

Speaker 3 (01:44:42):
So hey, love, what do you think about breakfast for
at dinner tonight? Quick with a Omelet think about that?

Speaker 2 (01:44:46):
Huh? You gotta make it though, buddy, it's time for
the play of the day is brought to you by
Mohague Chevrolet, where they always go out of their way
to please you together those drives at Mohawks Chevy. And
now you know what, bleep you bleep, Brian McCarthy, bleep
the haters. I'm not making a play today. What's not

(01:45:07):
making a play today? I already got a wager. I
lost it. I need Shoeyo tiny to home run, so
I'm not gonna bet him to hit home run. I'm
gonna stay away from it all.

Speaker 30 (01:45:17):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:45:18):
You know, if I was gonna do anything, it'd be like,
you know, Judger Soto to a homers. But no, no
play for me today. You got three gambling shows out
of me this week, two times here at the track,
one time at Rivers. Rivers. Sounds like I'll be putting
in some college bets. You know, we have some week
zero plays coming from me on Friday, so you know
what you get. No play today, No play for me,

(01:45:39):
my friend, not a single one, not a nice at all.
This is what you're supposed to do when you don't
like anything. You don't bet. That's the that's the that's
one to grow on kids and then, and that's why
I can afford to be fat. I don't just lose
money to lose money, all right.

Speaker 3 (01:45:56):
Since you won't fire off a wager here, I will
piece together when I think will be a decent wager. Tonight,
I feel good about something in baseball tonight. I've been
dancing between three wagers. But I will I will fire
off this wager tonight. I kind of thought about maybe going.

Speaker 2 (01:46:12):
With Angels and Royals Angels plus one point fifty on
the road. Johnny Cuato back on the mountain. That's right.

Speaker 3 (01:46:20):
That's not a type of Johnny Cuato firing off fastballs again,
involving the Angels in roles. I'm thinking about that. Good,
that's possible. I got a tip Dary even saying from
one of our dear dear friends, Junior Zach Boyn.

Speaker 2 (01:46:34):
You hear him on WGY. I think he wanted me
to fire off this play today, and I'm thinking about
it still.

Speaker 9 (01:46:42):
You know what I am.

Speaker 2 (01:46:44):
I'm locked in. He wanted me to go Angels too.
I'm going Angels tonight.

Speaker 3 (01:46:48):
Ben Joyce, if you don't remember his name, Ben Joyce
was that flamethrower from Tennessee for the Volunteers. Tennessee Volunteers
who got drafted in the second round by the Angels
last night. May have had the best performance of any
pitchering and he had that in baseball this season Bobby
Wit juniors had to play for the Royals, Joyce firing
off one hundred and five mile an hour fastballs at him,

(01:47:09):
striking out Bobby Wit Jr. You know what, let's fire
off an Angels plus one fifty money line wager at
Kaufman Sadium. Tonight give me the Angels plus one fifty.

Speaker 2 (01:47:19):
No thanks, no, no, this is the no I mean
with you. I'll root for you. I'm hope, I'm hopeful
for you. But uh but no, that's not it's not
many man, not me. Let me let me ask you
a question. Did TG to get into Happy Gilmore Too?

(01:47:40):
Is he part of the cast? Here's what I'm a
little bit confused about, because he claims he's put in
his cape for Happy Gilmore Too.

Speaker 3 (01:47:49):
Now, the thing is he has he has like a
real let me even phrase that tape isn't the best
way to say that. He is now a SAG member.
So he's a part of the union.

Speaker 2 (01:48:00):
He gets more money, So he gets a little bit
more money.

Speaker 3 (01:48:02):
He's a vegetarians, gets a little bit better of a meal,
and he has to go through a little bit of
a different system for it. So, because he's a SAG member,
he's put his submission in to be a part of
Happy Gimar Too. He's applied for a potential role through
the union, I believe is how that goes so he
hasn't heard back from them yet.

Speaker 2 (01:48:20):
Oh okay, well, Adam Sandler was was on, but Jimmy Fallon.
That's how I show Jimmy Fallon. I know one person
who is on the new movie, Travis Kelcey. That'll be nice.
We don't see enough of him. Quote we have, we
have a nice something for Travis. He's gonna come by.

(01:48:40):
He's a very nice guy. You guys would love him
in real life. What a big, handsome guy, funny and
cool as hell. He's a stud and he's so funny.
So Travis Kelcey of Kansas City Chiefs fan that no
one's ever heard of. Besides that, he is gonna be
in Happy Gilmore too.

Speaker 3 (01:49:01):
Okay, confirmed? All right, Kelsey. I thought it was pretty
good on Saturday Night Live. I think he's got some personality.
Sometimes we put the the jocks and sports who think
they can be actors. I believe Kelsey can actually do it.

Speaker 2 (01:49:12):
That's cool. I got a little tip though. Did you
know that Travis Kelcey also gonna appearing in the Fox
horror series Grotesque Gurry? No, I didn't know. And he's
gonna be hosting. Are you smarter than a celebrity, so
he's taking up all the roles. I would probably go
to your dad if it wasn't for was there a
Travis Kelce, I don't think.

Speaker 3 (01:49:33):
I don't think my dad would have got the Travis
Kelce girls. I do have a tip on Happy Gilmore too.
By the way, speaking about Travis Kelsey, is that the
only athlete that you can confirm.

Speaker 2 (01:49:41):
Is in Happy Gilmore two. I mean I just had
that story. That's what he talked about one.

Speaker 3 (01:49:46):
I've got a tip that there's another athlete on the
way for Happy Gilmore too. All my dad knows after
his application is that they are seeking a person as
a stand in role who is between seven feet and
seven f eight.

Speaker 2 (01:50:01):
Now, there's not a lot of human beings on planet
Earth who are.

Speaker 3 (01:50:03):
Seven foot to seven eight Okay, so I'm assuming either
I don't know Shack or someone like that is gonna
be in the film.

Speaker 2 (01:50:12):
Does a lot of the family ones. But I want
to say it's mister Wilson.

Speaker 9 (01:50:16):
Is his name?

Speaker 2 (01:50:17):
What's the name of the character in Happy Gilmore where
he's got to hit it off his foot? Oh? I
think he says Jaws.

Speaker 3 (01:50:24):
I think that man has passed away now so if
he was a seven footer in real life, either his
son or some famous athlete is likely to play his son.
That's the rumor that I've heard, because they are already
looking for when he's not in the scene, someone else
who's walking on earth as a seven foot plus human
being to be his stand in during a certain scenes.
So I would be under the belief that it's Kelsey

(01:50:47):
and another seven foot tall potentially obviously Kelsey's not seven
foot tall, but someone else like him will be in
the film like that. I think it's mister Wilson, mister Larson,
mister Larson, thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:50:58):
Richard Keel was old name Jaws from We've actually the
like fifty a time he's come up on this show.
Who or is it like you said, Shack's been in
some of the stuff that that Madison's done, Billy Madison,
Adam Sandler has done before, so it makes sense if
it was him. But then, like he's also always very

(01:51:20):
dialed in to the sports community when he does these things.
You know, maybe it's Boban. Maybe Boban has been doing
a lot of stuff. He's been doing a lot of stuff.
He's out there.

Speaker 3 (01:51:30):
Did I ever tell you I visited the Happy Madison
production set.

Speaker 2 (01:51:34):
And when you say visited the trespassing, I no know
I was allowed.

Speaker 3 (01:51:39):
Sure is a senior is the true story? Is a
senior at Hobart College. One of the big things you
could do was go to California, go to Hollywood if
you got selected for the college. So we got to
go and we walked by the set and we were
brought into like some building to get like a here's
life kids, here's what the movies are all about. And
me in my roommate Jahim went to the bathroom before
the whole thing started, and we got grabbed in the
hallway by two people. Are you two going or like what?

(01:52:01):
We just go to the bathroom. They're like, oh man,
you guys just missed Adam Sandler.

Speaker 2 (01:52:04):
You just walked out. I'm like, oh, no way, So
I almost bumped at ampstand there.

Speaker 3 (01:52:09):
My dad will, though hopefully be selected for Rampigil mark
too and make up for the almost from sixteen years ago.

Speaker 2 (01:52:14):
I feel like Sandler's got the closest chance to turn
into where he just shows up randomly, does your dishes,
does all those things, like Bill Murray be a great
villain in this one.

Speaker 3 (01:52:26):
You think the Shooters back Hobart's own Hobart College's oonne
shooter mcavn, Mister Chris McDonald, I hope so the Pride
of Hobart. Uh, you're thinking about Sandler two for thirty
years now, still showing up in jim shorts T shirts.

Speaker 2 (01:52:40):
Yeah, late night interviews.

Speaker 9 (01:52:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:52:42):
When you're the boss, you can do what you want
when you when you can ring like anything you want
on Netflix. Ever, you wear, you dress how you want
to dress. I've been doing the same thing. It's just
not as nearly as cool. I guess you mentioned you're.

Speaker 3 (01:52:55):
Not doing a play of the day. I got the
Angels plus one fifty. I missed on my what I
thought would be come back at today. You mentioned a
week zero action coming up in college football.

Speaker 2 (01:53:06):
Mention.

Speaker 3 (01:53:06):

This is why we do the stupid job. So we
are here and we are joined by our good friend
who joins us every Friday at five, Matthew DeSantis, and

(01:57:39):
I get my my hardest thing would because you build
content for you know, on X and everything else from
Nira bets. How hard is it to focus on the
races before Travers on the week of Travelers.

Speaker 7 (01:57:52):
It's hard because you just want to focus, especially now
that we draw the card early, and so since Sunday night,
you know, you've just been salivating over this Saturday card.
Five consecutive Grade one races on Saturday, you know, highlighted
of course by the Grade one Travers Torpedo Anna going
against the Boys. There's so many great storylines. The ah
Allen Jerkins, the race before might actually be the best
race in the entire card, in my opinion, is the

(01:58:14):
best field and the best betting race you're gonna see
until the Breeders Cup this year. You have some great horses.
But you know what makes it better is Friday you
got the Personal Lensen, which is a stacked field of
Phillies and mayors that's really good. The day before that
you got the Boston spot tomorrow and Thursday. So you
know the beautiful part about Sarah tooka every day is
a big day at the track.

Speaker 3 (01:58:33):
You talk about one of the best wagering races coming
up on center that maybe it's not the Travers, but
I have.

Speaker 2 (01:58:37):
To ask you this.

Speaker 3 (01:58:38):
We gonna set me up for it. We asked Pam
McKenna's question, Tony Alvanda this question. So we're gonna go
back to like twenty sixteen. All right, is this the
best Travers field since twenty sixteen? So I'm leaving the
American Pharaoh one out of that.

Speaker 7 (01:58:51):
Yeah, yeah, obviously it's certainly up there. I mean it.
You know, last year's field didn't really come back particularly
strong as four year olds old. I think the year
the field two years ago is pretty good, but yeah,
it didn't have to necessarily have the kind of staying power.
This one has a chance to be really really special.
I think, you know, top to bottom, you could make
a legitimate case. I think for all eight horses in

(01:59:12):
this field, and I think the long there are a
couple of really live long shots. I like this field
a lot because you have some top end talent. You
have the Philly going against the boys, and she deserves
the boy and she deserves to be here. And I've
been watching her in the mornings. I've just got a
chance to see in the Paddo class Sunday. She is ready.
I mean she is cranked and ready to go. Ken
McPeak has this horse in top condition and she looks

(01:59:35):
like a freak compared to the other affillies that we
saw running the Alabama on Saturday. So she's the real deal.
And this is not a gimmick. This is this is
all systems go.

Speaker 2 (01:59:42):
This is like, this is Christmas for guz Alvado says
it's the best you know, travers card. You say, the
Personal itsen maybe better than the like takes happening. Oh yeah, storyline.

Speaker 9 (01:59:56):
Right now.

Speaker 7 (01:59:57):
Yeah, yeah, it's awesome. The Personal Ensign on Friday is
the feature race and it is Idio Mattic who won
the Breeders Cup Distaff last year, randomized to beat her
in the Ogden Phipps Soul of an Angel who almost
beat Idiomatic last time out in the Molly Pitcher. You
got a horse like Raging Sea for Chad Brown, who's
won two graded stakes races already this year. You know,
I even the kind of biggest long shot in the field,

(02:00:19):
Jagera at ten to one. She was a multiple graded
stakes winner last year at three, so that was that's
a stack field and again just can't wait for all
these great races.

Speaker 2 (02:00:28):
It's when you talk to like the trainers and everyone else,
do you almost like hide the horses. You're not sure
what they're gonna do the week of travers like like
we were like in movie talk, like I'm a I
love the video game Borderlands. Yeah, but I'm afraid the
movie probably stucks. I haven't seen it because they it's
been ready for a little bit, but they they've held
on to it till they can get who they want.

(02:00:50):
Like if I had a horse, I was like, I
think this is a good but I'm not do I
do I run it now? Because people are all worried
about Friday and Saturday.

Speaker 7 (02:00:57):
Oh that's interesting, Yeah, I you know, it's interesting to see.
I think a lot of trainers. So this is something
I would say in general, is many times trainers will
start their year in January and circle a couple of
dates and go, we're training our horse up to this race.
And so sometimes it's the Kentucky Derby obviously for those
three year old colts, but a lot of times it

(02:01:19):
is weekends like the Travers, and not just the Travers,
but it's you know the Sword Dancer, which is one
of the undercard races, that's a great one. It's the Ballerina,
It's the a challeng Jerkins, It's the Four Go. These
are the races that have been circled since January, and
all of these horses, all the great races they've had,
in some ways, they've all been prep races for what's

(02:01:39):
going to happen on Saturday. So I think that's the
really cool part. And you know, even the big race
on Friday, the Personal Lensen, they've been training up to
this race and once this is done, then they start
training up to the Breeders Cup. So this is really
the last big weekend of racing in my opinion, in
terms of getting people ready up here in New York
before that big weekend in November.

Speaker 3 (02:01:59):
I don't want to spoiled, I think from people who
are content consumers, as you are a content creator. But
because your weekend is going to be so busy, there's
a chance something my Kee tape from now till satd
there might be stuff you're working on a podcast. Audience
doesn't care when we have stuff come up a day later,
whatever it might be. But for you, like what does
this week look like when it starts now? Prepping for

(02:02:19):
stuff for Saturday pieces digital take us through what your
schedule looks like.

Speaker 7 (02:02:23):
So I did a video for YouTube literally an hour
after they drew the card on Saturday, previewing the five
Grade one races. You can check it out on I
or bets YouTube. It's it's gotten a lot of traction,
a lot of good feedback. So that's all a lot
of fun, just immediate first reaction and then really it's
a lot of scheduling. So I just recorded something about
an hour ago with a Keisha Clemont. She and I

(02:02:44):
previewed the personal ensign and the Sword Dancer. Gonna have
David Aragona on from Daily Racing Form. He's gonna be
and he and I are gonna do a show capping
the card, or we go through all fourteen races on
travers Day and we're gonna give you our topic and
our top value play. And that's always a lot of fun.
That's gonna be on Nira Bets YouTube as well, and
so then it's just like scheduling these things out, making

(02:03:05):
sure they're out, you know, twenty four to forty eight
hours in advance. And yeah, like like you said, with
so many big races, it's just a constant turn of
like scheduling all this stuff getting it out. So I
think I've recorded like four videos already today and I
got another three tomorrow. So yeah, it's just all systems go.

Speaker 2 (02:03:21):
Baby does in case you ever put down the iPad,
did you, guys like trickers that glued to her hand,
I feel like you that it was on the table.

Speaker 7 (02:03:28):
It doesn't get out of her sight. And so no,
she she's so sharp with this stuff. And it was
really cool because I asked her a couple of questions
and I didn't even realize it, but she was like, oh,
I just talked to this trainer about this actually, and like,
you know, so she just you know, because she's always
down in the barn area and she just knows all
these trainers, all these jockeys. She gets such great insight
that the average fan just isn't gonna get. So it's

(02:03:51):
always a joy to talk to her. She always has
some insight that I'm like, I haven't heard that anywhere else, Like, Okay,
that's really.

Speaker 2 (02:03:56):
Just it's always like it's always there. It's always no,
isn't what it does? And Maggie they yeah, yeah, they
both have it all the time. They're making notes constantly
and uh no, they're still responsible with that. Whereas like
I watch a raise and I'm totally in it, and
then like an hour later, I'm like, I should have
taken notes about what happened that race.

Speaker 7 (02:04:14):
There's so much more.

Speaker 2 (02:04:16):
You caught me off guarded that question.

Speaker 3 (02:04:17):
So for those who can't see this, and I think
Matthew might not even notice, it's like behind this table
is almost like a baseball game going on, like showing
each other's sign. Only one person's ever caught us flashing signs.
But when you said top pick, top value, Levaq's finger
was going crazy.

Speaker 2 (02:04:33):
So and the reason I say that in Levac knows
this that.

Speaker 3 (02:04:36):
What drives him crazy for as long as I've known
him is that he always wants the top pick. The
value picks great, it's wonderful. But the idea that you
guys are setting up this preview race for top pick
in top value, can everybody do that? I thought that's
where you're desinly, Well, can we all do it that way?
Because people are just gonna play the top picks. Someone
play value, he said, the name of a girl.

Speaker 7 (02:04:56):
What do you think?

Speaker 2 (02:04:59):
I'm pretty much a one trick ponent.

Speaker 9 (02:05:01):
But.

Speaker 2 (02:05:03):
Tell me what I want to play, and then I'll
play with whatever I do with my value.

Speaker 7 (02:05:06):
So I think the Well, the big thing with that
is sometimes top picks are when you handicap race, you go, listen,
this horse is the most likely winner of the race.
And if you're asking me who's going to win this race,
I'll give this is probably the horse that's gonna win
this race. Now, that horse might end up going off
at even money or four to five or below odds.
I don't want to bet a horse at that price.

(02:05:26):
So the old point is, okay, well, what's the better
value play?

Speaker 9 (02:05:30):
Maybe?

Speaker 2 (02:05:30):
And maybe this is.

Speaker 7 (02:05:31):
Also like a little bit of figuring out things. You know,
come post time to see how the betting public's voting
it or you know, betting it, because all of a
sudden that horse could end up you know, that is.

Speaker 2 (02:05:42):
A value play.

Speaker 7 (02:05:43):
May give much better value as a long shot play
to win rather than just my top pick. And you go, Okay, yeah,
that horse is most likely to win, but at what price?
And it's like, do I really like that horse at
that price anymore as opposed to a horse that's eight
to one ten to one, And you go, you know something,
maybe this horse doesn't win, but there's a better chance
of these odds that I'm gonna cash in with the
dwarvest Like that, I guess. And you can also use

(02:06:05):
it in exact as where you go, I love my
top pick, but you know something, I like this orse
it ten to one to run second. Okay, I'm just
gonna make it an exactly with my top pick and
my value.

Speaker 2 (02:06:13):
See that, like because the thing that always killed me
is well, it's a good value play. Is he gonna win?
Because the best value is not losing? Right, it's not.
But I'll give you I'll give you a little stat.

Speaker 7 (02:06:26):
Every week on NYRA Bets, we do track stats where
I look at how post time favorites are performing, and
then I also look at winning trips by distance and surface.
Up here at Saratoga, I also do a delmar a
Cineboy of Downs and Monmouth Park. But at Saratoga only
thirty one percent of post time favorites are winning this meet.

Speaker 2 (02:06:44):
So does God.

Speaker 7 (02:06:47):
Here's the other. If you're just flat betting the post
time favorite every single race, you're actually down twenty five
percent for the meat in terms of your bank roll.
So you know, this is a very good meat to
play against favorites. And you might not win as often,
you might not cash tickets at as high of a rate,
but when you hit, you're gonna make up for all

(02:07:10):
the ones you missed. And you know, I have a
very good friend of mine who's on NIRA as an analyst,
Sarah el Badwi. And Sarah and I can sit through
a card. It could be a ten race card. I
can pick four winners. I can make a little bit
of money on you know, my profit for the day.
Maybe I'm up twenty percent or something like that. She
can pick one winner, She's up one hundred and twenty percent,

(02:07:31):
right because that one fifteen to one, twenty to one
horse that really came through and paid it every at all.
So it's just it's it's how different people like to play.
Everybody's got their own style of gambling and em betting,
so a lot of ways to do it.

Speaker 2 (02:07:45):
Matthew to sandus with us right now, follow him on
X failed to menace the one that got to me.
So we have a guy who works so that we
call him closer Brian Mary. Yeah, yeah, yeah, he's got
great hair. He would literally tell me I think this
horse is gonna win, but there's no value too. Yeah,
And that's what I get. That's what I go nuts,

(02:08:06):
because like I call the we calls them the value bros. Yeah,
because if you think it's gonna win, give me, give
me the exact that, give me the trifecta, the super,
give me some. But if you think it's gonna win,
I'm just I'd rather not bet the race than bet
the well the values in this horse.

Speaker 7 (02:08:22):
Yeah, so I going this is kind of an easy example.
But going back to a couple of years ago in
the Breeders' Cup, the horse flight Line, who was a
complete freak and was undefeated in his career. I think
he went off at one to five in that race,
you know, was not it was not value, but was
clearly the top pick. But right before he went off,
right before the race went off, I looked at the
board and this horse olympiad was twenty eight to one.

(02:08:44):
Now I didn't really like Olympiad to win obviously, but
I thought there's no way Olympiad should be twenty eight
to one. That's really dumb. This is a Grade one
winning horse, like, this is a really good horse. And
so a very simple bet I made right before the
race went off was a ten dollars straight exactive flight
line Olympia Olympiad finishes second. I end up cashing about
a two hundred and fifty dollars you know ticket for

(02:09:05):
that so perfect, it's like amazing, you know, like those
are the things where yes, there's all sorts of ways
to make value. You can still make value with heavy favorites.
It's just about knowing how to do it.

Speaker 2 (02:09:15):
I just I think this horse is gonna win, but
the values of this horse, all right, well, then you
better explain that because because you just told me, I
think I'm gonna lose this bet. But if I'm wrong, right,
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (02:09:27):
Thank you to a Casha in a Baseball one fastball
show going for the value of place and everything else.
I enjoyed that better than I ever could have fallen.

Speaker 2 (02:09:36):
That is very good.

Speaker 3 (02:09:37):
Thank you to meth stands like, uh, I don't want
to get your pick today. I feel like you got
to hold until Friday. What are the chances that your
picked today is not the same as your pick on Friday.
I'm already locked in a locked in. I already sent
it to the graphics department for TV, so I better
be locked in.

Speaker 2 (02:09:53):
Answer this question, though, do you think that's common of
most people?

Speaker 3 (02:09:56):
Do you think you're one of the outliers of Hey,
the race is gonna run Saturda, I gotta lock it
in by Wednesday, but I might change it.

Speaker 2 (02:10:02):
But do you think most people will handicap it?

Speaker 7 (02:10:04):
That's a good question that no, I know it is.
That's a really good question. I think most people who
have to do this for a living probably have a
pretty good sense of who they're picking already. The casual
fan probably has not even started to look keep this
race or thinking about it. And there's a lot of
players who I will see out in the picnic area
who five minutes before post have no idea who they're betting.
So it's you know, it really is. But you know,

(02:10:25):
for someone like me, you have to make content about
this and start writing articles and doing videos and things
like that.

Speaker 2 (02:10:29):
Like I've been.

Speaker 7 (02:10:30):
And the other part is we've known who's gonna be
in this race for a couple of weeks. This isn't
like all of a sudden they drew the card and
you're like, whoa, who are these eight horses?

Speaker 2 (02:10:39):
You know?

Speaker 7 (02:10:40):
You know which which is a little bit like Saturday,
there's you know, a bunch of great races on the undercard,
you know, a maiden races or an optional claiming racer
and allowance race. I have no idea who's in those, Like,
I don't know who I'm picking in those races yet.
But in the big races, yeah, I'm already prepared, locked in,
and yeah, it's it's gonna be a lot of fun.
And I'll stave it till Friday, don't.

Speaker 2 (02:10:58):
I mean, don't don't do that for me. I'll think
I'm not God, Is there anything between now and Friday
that's already jumped out of you? That because a lot
of us are trying to like build a little war
chest to go after this race with. And I know
you said some of you already looked at is there
something just screaming to you Tomorrow?

Speaker 7 (02:11:17):
In the Boston Spa, which is the second race on
the card, I'm really interested in the horse capeche uh,
and this is one who is picking up I Rad
Ortiz Junior on the mount and it's the number two horse.
I believe in that race, and I just think it's
a very competitive race. For the five runners are trained
by Chad Brown, not surprising, he kind of owns the
turf up here and all over. But I just think

(02:11:40):
that horse picking up I Rad in particular is really important.
He's had Frankie de Torri the last couple of times.
Frankie's a legend, don't get me wrong, but I don't
think Frankie's quite figured out how to ride this turf
course yet. And some of the rides that he gave
to Capeche in the past a little bit wide. He
hasn't really wanted to go inside I Rad for better
or worse as a bully when he's on a worst
and he's gonna make sure that horse gets the right trip.

Speaker 3 (02:12:02):
On on Thursday, you're gonna join us on Fronda. You're
Jonas today Sandwich in between. That is your buddy. Andrew
Champagne is gonna join us at three twenty tomorrow. We
will ask him about Capiche tomorrow. We'll get his okay,
so immediately he will tweet it you prepare for the
tweet from Andrew shamp.

Speaker 7 (02:12:17):
And also if there and by the way, if there's
any scattered thunderstorms within an hour and a half of Saratoga,
I'm sure Andrew will bring it up as well, and
he'll be working.

Speaker 11 (02:12:24):
Well.

Speaker 7 (02:12:24):
You know, we gotta we gotta worry about the weather.

Speaker 2 (02:12:26):
Maybe we gotta take a look.

Speaker 7 (02:12:28):
You're gonna be blue skies, it's gonna be gorgeous all weekend,
but it's raining an os vega or something like that.
And Andrew is gonna freak out as a result. And
so just a pearl clutching ninny is what I called him,
and I called him that on on our group thread.

Speaker 2 (02:12:43):
So he knows like the best social media sat this
versus Andrew. I love it. This listen, I'm I'm all
in for it. And listen this pink sheet thing that
they lay on about. I mean, I just you know me,
I'm I'm I'm over here. I'm just trying. I'm just
trying to make a little money, trying to win, trying

(02:13:03):
to win every competition that guys and I are in together.
When it comes to picking the ponies, Matthew Santis, you
you are the man. We will have you back on
Friday if you want to give you a pick out now,
if you know your shot. I mean it's those are
the guys he he insulted Alabado. Earlier script of that
interview was insulted by guys. Whether or not that was

(02:13:26):
doesn't happen.

Speaker 7 (02:13:27):
You don't get on the bad side of Tony right now.

Speaker 2 (02:13:29):
It's a bad idea, man, That's what I'm saying. I
love it.

Speaker 7 (02:13:33):
No, we'll you know, it would be funny. Twenty questions. Yeah,
is the horse brown? Uh No, it's not a woman.

Speaker 2 (02:13:46):
I'll tell you that.

Speaker 7 (02:13:47):
Okay, okay, Although she looks really good and I give
her a big chance, but I'm not picking her.

Speaker 2 (02:13:52):
Christina's taking her. Wow, happy Christina.

Speaker 7 (02:13:55):
And it's gonna make me show her how to bet
on bets the app so she can put some money
on you, you.

Speaker 5 (02:13:59):
Know, ra bets app.

Speaker 2 (02:14:01):
Yet it's it's so easy, guys can do how to
do it? How to put money in it? He can
do it now. Credit card, by the way, No, don't
don't give god credit card. That's a sure way. That's
there's no value in giving credit card. Matthew and has
failed the menus of course, and then Nyra bets app
all over the place doing great things. We the first

(02:14:23):
person to talk value with me that I didn't want
to kick off the show. That's I mean, you have
no idea how much that that means to me personally.
Thank you so much. And I know you're a busy man.
We're about talking about SEE four energy drinks. I don't
know if you want to be part of that or not.

Speaker 7 (02:14:40):
You know, listen, I probably need a whole case of
them because this is your Monday.

Speaker 2 (02:14:44):
This is this is my Monday. Yeah, absolutely, so like
if you tried the popsicle flavor yet great orange.

Speaker 7 (02:14:49):
I need to get in on that. I need to
get at least of a couple of oranges. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:14:53):
Yeah, I'll be good in Stewarts. You get him into
at a speedway. But I might have some of my trucks,
so when I pick up my trunk, we'll bring them back.
I'm maybe on Friday, will bring them. Sounds good, it's
not we okay, that's like we business right right. If

(02:15:15):
you wait for guys to bring you a C four,
you're gonna be waiting until it's like a S eight
movie that you want a brand by then I had
drink this morning. My favorite flavor is cherry. Thank you
to Sea for support.

Speaker 3 (02:15:25):
Now, so you mentioned Stewart's Speedway, proud sponsor to the
Sea Force, Smart energy Banker will challenge.

Speaker 2 (02:15:29):
But if you need that energy boost weather it's in
the morning. You had one right before the show, that
boost that you need. They taste great. So many people
aren't fans of energy drinks or coffee.

Speaker 3 (02:15:39):
I don't like to taste. That's not what gives you
the wonderful taste. Great flavors, popsicle flavors. This summer what
it's all about. Only complained about Disney they didn't have
C four.

Speaker 2 (02:15:47):
That was the only I had to I had to
drink one of the competitors one morning and it was
it was it was dare I say, Icky, uh, explosive energy.

Originally I was ticked off. If you were listening yesterday,
you heard me, you know, And look, of course I'm

(02:20:57):
gonna be protective of aeron Charge.

Speaker 12 (02:20:58):
You know.

Speaker 2 (02:20:59):
That's that's one of that's my player. I've never seen
the I've only seen one Derek Jeter in my life
who handled New York the right away, did all the
things whatever.

Speaker 7 (02:21:08):
You know.

Speaker 2 (02:21:08):
Maybe Jalen Brunson's gonna be another version of that. But
I feel like Judge is that he knows how to
handle us like he knows like as as a fan base.
Where Rabbinus we're rabid, we will turn on you and
tear you down just as fast as we built you up.
The media is insane. It takes a lot to be
able to stay the darling. And he did it even

(02:21:32):
during a contract negotiation, like he's so so obviously there's
a little bit of me like, who's gonna be overly
protective of that dude? But when you see how great
it just a plus it was for everybody the way
Major League Baseball you you know, you did a whole
tap dance of how much you love Rob Manfred over
the little league, you know, Baseball Classic in Williamsport. To

(02:21:53):
have this dude from Staten Island come out, Bob Latierza
and just run his mouth, you know about how about
turning around and waved to New York and the kids
that that think you're a hero, you know, goes on,
he does the ultimate annoying one. They are the ones
who pay your salary, like I just had. That's just
such a stupid statement. I know, the fans are the

(02:22:16):
ones who pay the sal I get that.

Speaker 7 (02:22:18):
But it's not like.

Speaker 2 (02:22:20):
It's not like he It's not like Aaron Judge was like,
oh I didn't know that. Like he was getting ready
to have it at Bad He'd already taken a picture
with the team. The team itself had already intermingled with
the kids from Staten Island and all the other kids.
I didn't know that. I didn't know there'd be a reaction.

(02:22:41):
I didn't I figured there'd be some people would hear
that and be like, oh no, Aaron Judge doesn't love
children or whatever. I didn't realize everybody was gonna see
it the way you saw a guy's the way I
saw it. That this you know, this is this this
little league coach out of touch. He's making a mistake,
he's saying something stupid. I didn't know the Yankee organization
was gonna ire back, Oh yaked organization? Whyeah quote. Our

(02:23:05):
entire roster spent the day in Williamsport connecting with as
many little leaguers as they possibly could prior to our game,
including the team from Staten Island. We commend all of
our players for devoting their complete attention to the hundreds
of kids who literally walked step by step alongside them.
From the moment the Yankees landed in Williamsport through the

(02:23:27):
entirety of the evening, our players were unequivocally committed to
making the experience what it was intended to be, a
once in a lifetime opportunity for young baseball players and
their families from around the world to have meaningful and
genuine interaction with some of Major League Baseball's greatest players.

(02:23:52):
The statement continued that Aaron Judge is one of our greatest,
the greatest ambassadors of our sport. Quote. Neither the Yankees
nor our players organize the schedule on Sunday. In fact,
because Staten Island played on Sunday, our players went out
of their way to spend time with them. In moments

(02:24:13):
immediately before our game with the Tigers, they go like
it goes on. We wish Staaten Island's success in winning
the championship, win or lose. We intend to invite them
to Yankee Stadium. However, it would have been much better
if Staten Island's coach called us to understand the facts
before bitterly reacting in such a public fashion. Reaching out

(02:24:35):
to us would have been the prudent way to act
and would have set a fine example for the young players.
Aaron Judge always acts with kindness and respects. The coach
could learn a lot from him. That's biting like Themethrower
out and John Dude finish him like that. A lot

(02:24:59):
of times you don't expect the organization to even reply right,
you definitely don't. If they do, it's like, hey, you know, sorry,
there was a misunderstanding. One of those apologies where like, hey,
I'm sorry that you don't get it. But to have
the not just come out, to come out and be like, yo,
shut your travel man, like if you can learn a
lot from the guy that you're you're taking potshots at.

(02:25:22):
I love this. This makes me so happy to be
a Yankee fan right now. We may not be able
to score with running in scoring position, we will slap
the taste out your mouth. You run if you run
it e visceration?

Speaker 7 (02:25:33):
Is that a word?

Speaker 2 (02:25:34):
Is I know?

Speaker 3 (02:25:36):
Is the verb rate done? You're not coming at the Yankees.
You're not gonna have this become a national story. You're
not coming to judge for sure. No, we did something
nice for you. This is and yeah, I'm sure people
have coworkers like this. When someone sends a nasty email,
Oh come here, look at this reply mouth get him
with oh he walked. You're about to find out there's

(02:25:56):
a certain line that took some words out. Uh, mess
around and find out right? Is that the that the
internet saying?

Speaker 2 (02:26:03):
Now one of the one of the hashtags I'm I'm
playing with for the upcoming season is a flock around
and find out that's pretty good.

Speaker 3 (02:26:12):
Stop playing around, that's the one that's my fut real quick.
That this guy tried. And you know what, I'm still
gonna think by my point yesterday, I feel like he
lived in a bubble and he thought he was pandering
to the audience of the parents of the players of
we needed more. This should have been a bigger experience.
This should revolve around the kids and only about the kids,

(02:26:32):
because that's the world he lives in. I feel like
he was pandering to that parent group, and then when
it got out of his bubble, he didn't realize the
impact that it would had.

Speaker 2 (02:26:41):
He found out real quick.

Speaker 3 (02:26:42):
So credit to the New York Yankees for shutting that down,
I hope, and I know you Alten think it was.

Speaker 2 (02:26:47):
A Kevin moment, the male Karen. I think he hasked
to speak to the manager and he got slapped down, right.
I think I think he thought if he complained he'd
get something. I think that's what it was. It was,
you know, And again, like there's always you run the
risk when you try to do nice things. That somebody
will try to push it too far and they won't
appreciate it. I'm wondering if this is one of those

(02:27:07):
situations where you know, not even thinking about the fact
that when Aaron judges on the on decked circle and
he's getting up to hit, he has a procedure he
goes through where he's not turning around and looking at
the crowd and going how you guys doing today? Like whatever,
this is not his style, that's not what he does.
So it's like, well, why wouldn't you turn around and
wave to us. I'm I get paid forty million dollars

(02:27:29):
a year to play baseball. I do have to go
hit a baseball, Like that's the reason you want my attention?
Is I hit the baseball over the wall.

Speaker 3 (02:27:37):
Let me do what I do. Leave me alone. No
one will take this as the way. I'll use an example.
I have mad life before, right, So as a young
person who wanted to do this for a career, I
always saw why don't radio stations and television stations have
more tours? Like why can't I just walk in when
I want because I see something on television like and

(02:27:57):
again this is a little kid thinking this, Hey.

Speaker 2 (02:27:59):
It's like Disney World. It's somewhere I want to go
and do one day. Why can't I go and do this?
That's a place of employment. There are adults here.

Speaker 3 (02:28:06):
You just can't let raindom people walk around where you
work to find out what you do for a living.
It almost people don't get that when it comes to
professional sports, where it's like, what do you mean they
just can't wave to me?

Speaker 5 (02:28:15):
What do you mean?

Speaker 3 (02:28:15):
They just can't stop the game to sign autographs?

Speaker 5 (02:28:18):
What do you mean?

Speaker 3 (02:28:19):
I'm here to support them. They should be supporting. They
are doing a profession. They are doing a job. There
are times where during that we'll say work environment. They
do have opportunities to interact with and again I've learned
this as I've grown up. Some people don't learn those
things that they feel like everything that happens in their
life should have revolved around them. I love the Kevin
Carrett in comparison because so many people complain about so

(02:28:43):
many things, and he's on that list. If you work
with I don't know, the restaurant industry, I guess it's
gonna be number one on this list that people who
want to complain about things. The one of theo's popping
in my head. Here is our guy, AJM. Pinkowski over
at CBS six. I probably just confused him with the
tweet I sent out, but I used to think it
was really funny because we used to do it on
the air all the time.

Speaker 2 (02:29:02):
Where Ken Shott, you know you're the king of this Ken,
if you're listening.

Speaker 3 (02:29:06):
He would post what game CBS six would be airing
in the NFL, and it always would have upset a
fan base.

Speaker 7 (02:29:11):
What do you mean they're not airing the bills?

Speaker 2 (02:29:13):
What do you mean they're not airing the judge?

Speaker 50 (02:29:15):
What are you?

Speaker 3 (02:29:16):
And somehow it would be Doug Sherman's fault or Kelly
O'donald's or Chet's fault or Britney and now AJ and
I'm sure and AJ put out just like that's wait,
look at that. If he's listening on the app, he
might be listening live right now. Shout out to a
j if he's listening right now. He wrote for CBS six.
With the NFL season just a few weeks away, this

(02:29:36):
is a link to all the games that are gonna
airro on CBS six. C selmany please this is a
yearly reminder that no one at CBS six, including myself,
get to choose which games we air. Don't yell at
us like tweeting him a gift if you said, on
a throne of lies, give us the games. AJ people
just want to complain. I think it's totally on. This
guy thought, you know what, Judge is gonna come out
to one of the games. Now if I complain loud enough,
if they're gonna send us a video message. Nope, didn't happen. Well,

(02:30:02):
that is funny too.

Speaker 2 (02:30:02):
I remember all the times that your boys over at
CBS just like putting their heads down and putting their
hands over there, trying to hide from all the hatred
over stuff they had no control over it.

Speaker 3 (02:30:13):
It's a lot easier to spell to Vane and Davis
than Penkowski to send your anger emails to. I was
tagged chatting that, but I'm sure he'll send it fire
right back to me. Don't forget you can email gods,
g OC and iHeartMedia dot Com and complain about everything.

Speaker 2 (02:30:28):
No Red Sox games, that's right, no Red Sox games. Whatever,
cow Herd said. I'm sure I have. I have some complaints.
I've heard about some negotiations going on the building. I
have some complaints I'd like to publicly air. Please don't.
All right still, I won't for now, Let's just do
what I want be next, Hey, pay your salary. You
know what I'm saying. I mean, come on, I just

(02:30:48):
want to be like I want to be a Kevin
when I grow up. It is it is interesting, like
the randomness of these people who do these the entitlement,
it just drives me insane. Like there's some people you
do some nice term and you just the the gratitude
is is overpowering, like you like, I just I wasn't
that wasn't that nice? Whatever? Like'. And then there's people

(02:31:10):
you go out of your way for and they take
advantage of it and they can't understand why they can't
have more. That's what this dude is and they have
the Yankee slap him has made absolutely made my day,
absolutely made my day. That's ah, it was gonna be
a dump story.

Speaker 3 (02:31:25):
I had two stories here for the dumb So if
you've released your dumb story, I've I have one. I
have one more story that I'd like to do.

Speaker 2 (02:31:31):
Oh for the dumper. Right here we do right now.
If you want, I watch hard Knocks last night. I is,
first of all, how shocked are you see? How how
all in they were on Matthew Judah.

Speaker 3 (02:31:44):
Very shocked, And I'm very much a fan of Ryan Poles.
I didn't know the backstory, Like I didn't realize.

Speaker 2 (02:31:51):
He played in Boston College.

Speaker 3 (02:31:52):
I thought he was just a lot of the gms
just worked their way through Scott all the way up.
Didn't realize that's what he did.

Speaker 2 (02:31:59):
I'd like him a lot. YEP, I really do.

Speaker 3 (02:32:01):
I think Parison should be thrilled that he's the guy
making the calls.

Speaker 2 (02:32:05):
It was one of those situations where like maybe there's
four teams that shouldn't have been having those talks, Like
just that was awesome. And here's my biggest question, and
I can't one hundred percent figured it out myself just yet.
Is Caleb Williams confident and just that damn special or
is he cocky and he's about to get a real
route awakening? Well, didn't the guys from barstool ask him

(02:32:27):
that question in the interview, right? Why would he? He
don't know. I'm asking you what you think. I think
my answer is similar to his. He said, uh oh no,
I forgot his answer.

Speaker 54 (02:32:37):
Now.

Speaker 3 (02:32:38):
They they asked me a question about that. I think
it's just so generic, and they cut away and didn't
finish the answer. I would say he is very confident
in his abilities. He's one of the first NIL athletes
we've ever seen. He was the number one high school
recruit in the country. I Obviou said this a bunch,
but some people don't forget. He was supposed to have
his own DOCU series from Sports Illustrated, but his senior
season was his COVID season. He's also got like that

(02:33:00):
nineteen year old birthday, so he was technically nineteen when
he was playing high school football. So all the way
through his life he's been this guy Chicago is going
to be awesome. And I know every single year. We
do that every year about the Hard Knocks team, no
matter who it is, we all because of our football
fans think that team of the highlights we saw is
gonna be great. Sometimes they are, sometimes they aren't. But

(02:33:23):
there are certain plays in those games where you just
look at it, You're like, that's a perfect throw. That's
a perfect throw. That's nobody's making those rows. Look, you
can hit guys when they're wide open. You can beat
a third stringer one on one or tear somebody up
when there at training camp. But some of these throws
he's putting on. I heard the comparison. I think it
was Jesse who just shared it to me, who said
he is the Prince of quarterbacks. He's getting compared to

(02:33:45):
Prince the Musician because he's got a little different style,
a little art. Tom sounds a little different.

Speaker 5 (02:33:51):
Is he arrogant? Cocky?

Speaker 2 (02:33:52):
Confident?

Speaker 5 (02:33:53):
What was Prince?

Speaker 3 (02:33:54):
Probably labeled with all three of those at one point.
He's so good the pick that Booker kid they were
taught talking about the fourth round or he gave up
a twenty twenty five. He was throwing people around. They've
got DJ Moore, every Chicago looks like a team. And
I know when we did our preview show and ours
is coming back up on Labor Day, we both prenox

(02:34:15):
I believe picked the Bears to be a playoff team.

Speaker 2 (02:34:18):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (02:34:19):
That confirmed it for me because they got everything and
I think depending what Poles wants to do, they've been
showing this yet might be even more aggressive come the
deadline because they got some money to play with the
signs some guys and that's why they showed him why
they were interested in Judah and they had the money
to sign them.

Speaker 2 (02:34:33):
They want to know. I like how much he hates
being compared to Patrick Mahomes. I like it. I want
to see if he can because I love Patrick Mahomes
and I'm not even I hate the Chief but I
love watching Patrick Mahomes play. If he can be that
special of the player, that creator out there on the
field and he and he somehow the Bears and Chiefs
end up with a rivalry over this, that'd be I mean,
there's there's a great storyline for the next ten years

(02:34:55):
of football. It's it's just I do. I like watching
the kid play a lot. I think confident, but it's
such a weird level of confidence that I'm unfamiliar with
it that I want to call him cocky. As long
as he plays the way he's been playing so far,
he'll be confident and he'll be a star. That's just
it's just insane to watch. I'm with you. I agree
on almost everything you said. We also agree on one

(02:35:15):
major thing. That's elevation ten thousand. Whether you're all listen,
your company, your brand, what you're trying to do, where

a lot with the print and the apparel and all

your brand is. So elevates your brand today with Elevation

we have a we have a lovely time about it.
How's that?

Speaker 9 (02:38:51):
Huh?

Speaker 2 (02:38:51):
Yeah? I looked then. I think it's what the dump is.
It's always a good time when it's always finished the show.
Such a relief, a big dump. Let's talk about the
news involving next to day we mentioned.

Speaker 3 (02:39:00):
This is the top four four, the rookie formerly of Auburn,
formerly of Oregon, officially named the starting quarterback for the
Denver Broncos. So there's good news and bad news if
your last name is Wilson. First, let's start with the
good news. If you're a Bronco fan, this will all
but guarantees, all but basically solidifies that the Broncos moving

(02:39:21):
on from Russell Wilson was the ring move. You get
a much cheaper much inexpensive quarterback option that you believe
in for the future, rather than Russell Wilson, who you're
on the hook for for about one hundred million dollars
going forward. So is that too much of a stretch?
Is that too much purple?

Speaker 16 (02:39:37):
Purple?

Speaker 3 (02:39:37):
I was thinking a hole, bart there blue and orange
tinted glasses. Lovak that if you're a Bronco fan, Nick's
being named the Startermings, you got it right by dumping
Russell Wilson.

Speaker 2 (02:39:47):
Uh, I think I think you got it right. Dump
Russell Wilson because he just wasn't the right one for you. Okay,
wait a minute, I understand. I was thinking, like I
think the way you think, Yes, this one percent means

(02:40:08):
you got it right because the money you had to
eat with Wilson. By cutting Wilson, you don't have to
give a rookie quarterback as nearly as much. So it'll
actually like it'll it'll flesh out red me. Well yeah,
all right, However, I think this might be the very
very first time I have an I have I have
something I can show you and why I think differently

(02:40:30):
than you do about the quarterback room. If you win
with bow knicks, you don't care about what you paid
Russell Wilson, right, exactly, right, Okay, yeah, no, I think
that's right. I think that's right. So if Russell Wilson
was still on the team and bo Knicks beat him
out in camp and then bone Knicks was your quarterback

(02:40:50):
for the whole season and you won, Sure it sucks
that you paid Russell Wilson on that money set behind him,
but the right guy was there and you won. Anyway,
Uh to that point that is. But I'll put a
big butt there.

Speaker 3 (02:41:01):
But if you can swallow it, if you can deal
with it, if you're a GM and an owner, someone
who has a financial profit in that decision of hey,
we think bone Knicks is so good, the guy who's
gonna make forty five or fifty million bucks is going
to make that money holding a clipboard.

Speaker 2 (02:41:22):
If you can do that, God bless you.

Speaker 9 (02:41:26):
You.

Speaker 2 (02:41:26):
The only thing, the only thing worse than winning with
a forty million dollars player holding a clipboard.

Speaker 5 (02:41:32):
I got it.

Speaker 2 (02:41:32):
I got losing with on the field. Like, but you
know what I'm saying, Like, it's interesting to me that
the only way you're okay with me putting the lower
paid quarterback as the starter as if I've already cut
the higher paid quarterback.

Speaker 3 (02:41:50):
It's almost We'll use a car example here, and some
people will understand this, topan.

Speaker 2 (02:41:54):
How much of a fan of of your car you are?
Some may not.

Speaker 3 (02:41:57):
Let's let's say you bought one hundred thousand dollars vehicle.

Speaker 2 (02:42:00):
You got a Masarati.

Speaker 3 (02:42:01):
Okay, you got a Masaratia and it just sits in
your driveway.

Speaker 2 (02:42:05):
It just sits there. You never drive it.

Speaker 3 (02:42:07):
Do you think that's the best investment for your business,
your lifestyle.

Speaker 2 (02:42:11):
Whatever it is.

Speaker 3 (02:42:12):
Look, if you want one hundred thousand dollars Maserati city
in your driveway and you can do it, wonderful, you
could show it off.

Speaker 2 (02:42:18):
What if I made my money by being a construction worker,
then I drive my pick up every day. That's only
thirty thousand dollars. If you want to do that, you
can do that every so often. I break got that Masarati.
I couldn't stomach it.

Speaker 5 (02:42:29):
I could not.

Speaker 2 (02:42:30):
I think NFL it's different. That's recreational money. Well, that's
the thing though.

Speaker 3 (02:42:34):
It's like, if you're gonna invest in something and you
think that's gonna help, maybe the Maserati was your company vehicle.
If you're gonna invest in something that believes it's gonna
create better business for you, more success than you should
use it. If you're not gonna use it and let
it sit there, then Okay, I know it's weird compared
to human beings to cars, but.

Speaker 2 (02:42:49):
No, I guess I would. I guess I would look
at it is. Let's say you've got that Maserati, right,
and you also have you have a nice Chevy Tahoe
to you like, but that sits in the garage. The
Maserati breaks down, doesn't run right, and now you're driving
the Tahoe around while you wait for the parks to
get here for the Maserati or maybe you're gonna sell
the Maserati or whatever it is. But you're still getting

(02:43:11):
everywhere you need to go every day because you have
that Taho. Should you go sit in the Maserati which
is broken down in your driveway because it costs more?
Or should you get where you're going and the more
cost reliable Chevy Taho sell the Maserati. Is that an option?

Speaker 5 (02:43:23):
Well?

Speaker 2 (02:43:23):
Yeah, but it's broken down right now, so you know
what I mean. So it's still in your driveway. Yeah,
it was your it was it was your grandfather's maserati.
I'm just saying, if you have a way to get
where you're going, you know, and it's within your budget,
you get where you're going. It's just I just that's
that's yeah. I like I like Bonnicks being there, and
I think that I think that Sean Payton showed us

(02:43:44):
that the guy who wasn't right for the job needed
to go. Now that he's gone, he can go not
be right for the job in Pittsburgh.

Speaker 3 (02:43:52):
All right, So I went from one good news Wilson
to a bad news Wilson. Zach Wilson is likely gonna
be the third string quarterback now, Jared Stidham will likely
be the backup. There are reports coming from Denver Benjamin Albright,
and there's a reason I'm going to use his name
in a second. Benjamin Albert, who covers the team out
in Denver, says quote, I would be extremely surprised if

(02:44:13):
the Broncos didn't carry all three quarterbacks this year. Now,
Ben Albright, if you don't remember his stuff, he was
the loudest person who said there is no chance the
XFL's ever gonna fold. There's net's never gonna happen. He
also has been called out on freezing call takes. It said,
it'd be an absolute lie if you've heard anyone say

(02:44:34):
the Alliance American Football League's gonna fold this season is
gonna fit. So two of his loudest points on Twitter
involved leagues that folded, and people might know him from that,
especially the Alliance when he was Team Alliance for a while.
Reporters get stuff wrong. They're fed bad information at times,
depending on who your sources are. He could miss here
Sean Pate could keep three quarterbacks for the second time.

(02:44:56):
Here involved with the Denver Broncos salary cap situation. You
trade it for Zach Wilson for basically a seventh round pick.
I don't know what Zach Wilson's gonna do sitting as
your third trigger, but Jean.

Speaker 2 (02:45:07):
Payton loves quarterbacks. I would say history has shown us.

Speaker 3 (02:45:13):
That you're gonna take like a seventh round kid off
the street is your third string quarterback, and maybe bring
Beck Wilson.

Speaker 2 (02:45:20):
Can they do it?

Speaker 9 (02:45:21):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (02:45:21):
Would I be surprised because conventional wisdom tells you it
doesn't happen often that three quarterbacks are there. I would say,
Zach Wilson gets cut. I feel like it's very more
than likely today because bone Nicks has been named the starter.
Do you think that says any difference that Nixon's named
the starter that Wilson will or will not be on
the roster.

Speaker 2 (02:45:41):
My understanding is the reason they brought Wilson over, the
reason they actually wanted him there is they feel like
he's never had any real stability and they think they
can provide that and then get a feel of what
he really is and if if you can that he's
actually a sustainable NFL level quarterback, even as a backup.

(02:46:05):
He now has trade value or you know, maybe injury
value for you, whatever it is, or you know, if
you can't keep Jared Stidham next year, now he steps up,
he becomes your year backup quarterback. And let's not forget
who his head coach is. His head coach is the
dude who took a guy who was basically an h
back tight end and turned him into a quarterback slash

(02:46:26):
eight back tight end. There's a chance that because Zach
Wilson is an athlete, that Sean Paytne just figures out
a way to use him.

Speaker 3 (02:46:34):
I would feel like it's likely that Wilson gets cut
if it was any other coach not named Sean Payton,
not say it's a done deal. He's definitely getting cut.
Zach Wilson. You mentioned the trade prospects. I feel like
the Jets wanted to do that from the season ending
to like, even when Rodgers' backup, nobody seems to want him.
Is there a chance that bo Nicks gets hurt and
Stiden gets hurt. We've seen teams play third stringers like

(02:46:56):
you'd rather not have a seventh rounder than a guy
if you believe in Wilson, It's unlikely he's gonna get
on the field Marnity injury. But I would say he
gets cut or somebody makes the move for him during
the season, and may maybe it plays with what you
said there, right, Hey, we need a backup quarterback.

Speaker 2 (02:47:11):
There got him as a third stringer. They're not moving them.
We actually need them.

Speaker 3 (02:47:15):
We flip them for a fourth or a fifth or
whatever the number is, depending on the team and how
desperately they need that quarterback.

Speaker 2 (02:47:20):
What other thing I got here for the dumping? The
ninth race just finished and there's only nine races today.
Look at the exodus oh Man I might be sitting
in some traffic here. No, I don't think the movie.
I think a lot of these people are gonna gone.
I think we're good. Okay, you're good. And this comes
from the New York Post.

Speaker 3 (02:47:39):
Our friends at Big Fox Fox Television has announced what
their new fall lineup will look like on FASS one. Okay,
and we've got a lot of radio love here, a
lot of radio guys. There have been rumors that six
seventy the Score and former guest on this show, former
Score twelve sixty host Danny Parkins does stuff out Chicago
was gonna take over for a Skip Baylist. We're calling

(02:48:00):
him the next Skip Bayless.

Speaker 2 (02:48:02):
Ooh, that's it. I don't want to be called that.
I don't want to tip my hand.

Speaker 3 (02:48:05):
But somebody that you and I know very well, who
works in we'll say the mid Atlantic area told me, no, no, no,
he's not going to be working for the next Skip Bayleist.

Speaker 2 (02:48:13):
And he was right.

Speaker 3 (02:48:14):
The new morning show on f S one is gonna
be called breakfast Ball with former w Fan host Craig Carton.
Also soon to be New York State Broadcasting Hall of
Famer Craig Carton, Mark Schlairth who hosts that at one
O four three The Fan and Danny park Is so
three radio guys from eight to ten in the morning,
quickly followed by from ten to new I.

Speaker 2 (02:48:35):
Didn't know why I did hear there was you know,
I tuned in Fan in the Morning sometimes, and they
made a joke about setting the cart and puppet over
to Fox Sports so that they could nail to a
wall and it can host with someone. I didn't get
it at the time. Now I kind of now I
understand what was happening. That's exactly right.

Speaker 3 (02:48:53):
Ten to noon The Facility with Emmanuel Acho, Lashawn mc coy,
Chase Daniel and James Jones.

Speaker 2 (02:49:03):
Those, I mean, those guys are gonna say some stuff.
Oh yeah, that's a bad the facility. It's the facility.
It sounds like a toilet. Go to the facility undisputed
now the facility. Yeah, yeah, I'm disputing that name. No,
it's a bad name. Good good group of guys. I mean,
I don't know if they're good guys, and I think
they're gonna say some stuff. But I don't like that
name at all. They gotta chase that name. I feel

(02:49:24):
like they I was gonna call it, well that gods
would be a good name for that, for that that day.
A part of that segment, right, they're gonna say, we're
gonna call it viral, but that's not good. Well, the
facility they want to go viral. There's a lot of
viruses in the facilities.

Speaker 3 (02:49:35):
Our Leaden's not gonna change Levact The Herd with Colin
Coward will stay. Colin Coward, Jason McIntyre.

Speaker 2 (02:49:40):
Again, that's a monologue in the business.

Speaker 3 (02:49:42):
Yes, and it's always very nice to see what happens
to you have a live show out of you on
a radio show.

Speaker 2 (02:49:47):
We appreciate Collen Howard.

Speaker 3 (02:49:48):
Ahead of us noon to three and then more radio people,
Nick Wright, Chris Brussar, Kevin Wilds three to five, Nick
Wright from his time in Kansas City and Houston Speak.

Speaker 2 (02:49:57):
We chase that other guy out of here.

Speaker 3 (02:49:58):
Yeah, speak will also beyond time to be determined, Keishawn Johnson,
Paul Pierce, Joy Taylor. A loaded lineup across the board
for FS one, likely to launch on Monday. Conflicting reports,
what do you make of our friends on the TV
side of FS one Leaning on sports radio hosts to
take the lead in the television world.

Speaker 2 (02:50:17):
It's just I mean, the the thing he has to
remember with these these like TV is different. It's a
more pampered usually play things like that. We get by
with less, that's what we do. And and our bosses
knowing I'm normally be scared, but we're actually using my
headsets and microphones. It's not like there's not much more

(02:50:38):
they could take from us. I think it makes sense
on a lot of levels. You get you get entertaining
people who can get by with less. And I think
Greg Cardin's hysterical, like you may not like him, but
he's made you laugh at some point. He said something
at some point that you probably say now and don't
even remember why you say it. So him being on
is a great lead. Coward's amazing set. They got to

(02:51:01):
change the separate cower, the separate cowards Arra, what do
you mean the big desk and the slightly like bigger
desk and then the valley between where the guest sits,
Like it feels like the nineteen eighty four Is that
the one where like, yeah, like people go on that
show and it's just like, oh, I got look at
that guy and that's seven foot tall desk. Oh my god,

(02:51:22):
look at that guy, that eight foot tall desk, Like
it's so weird.

Speaker 3 (02:51:26):
Does it feel weirder because post COVID technology is caught
up where like no one thinks of that.

Speaker 2 (02:51:31):
You don't need to be that far away, oh like
don't need to be that far away, you just need
to be a little closer. I wonder if they make
it's a very Greenberg thing kind is it's like you
don't need that anymore, and it looks odd And they
don't really go to the radio audience as much. And
I think some people they do a good job to
really balancing that, honestly they do. It just sounds so
it sounds so good on the radio. But the few

(02:51:52):
times that I've had the TV on, I've seen this
set and then the when they have like a guest
like Paul rudds all of a sudden sitting by himself
and this between these two giant desks, it's like it
just it feels like a weird futuristic court, you know,
like tell me why I should watch ant Mann and
watch three or you know whatever I would say.

Speaker 3 (02:52:11):
And maybe I'm biased here because now Fox is the
brand we wrap your suck up.

Speaker 2 (02:52:16):
I had like the line up a lot. I do
those facility the only the facility has a chance to
be bad, but has a chance to be really, really good.
But they gotta change that name. That's not a good name.
I hope they change it. Maybe therese call I don't
know what they call it. Well, let's play this out.

Speaker 3 (02:52:34):
How do we handle this because we've got we don't Marshlare,
Danny Parkins, Craig Carton, Nick Wright, Colin Coward.

Speaker 2 (02:52:43):
I'm not he likes to pick up.

Speaker 3 (02:52:47):
Yeah, but we've got five people who will give radio love.
I've got the affiliates contact. That's what I'm wondering here.
Here's my problem.

Speaker 2 (02:52:57):
We should have guests on every segment.

Speaker 7 (02:53:02):
And air show.

Speaker 3 (02:53:03):
No one should ever hear our show and then air
it ten to one or three to seven, both to
stack those guests like it's nineteen eighty two.

Speaker 2 (02:53:13):
Nothing's changed.

Speaker 3 (02:53:15):
Here's my problem. Though I've reached out to two recent guests.
I'd like, I love you guys like I like programing
the show live on the air. So I have two
guests I've reached out to. Traditionally, the final week of
August we'd have two people on the show one would
be the head coach of the Syracuse football team. Scott
Shaeffer has been in the past. You know, Babers. I
reached out to get coach Ran Brown on the show.
I'm a little a little annoyed by the answer I got.

(02:53:39):
Coach Brown is very busy right now, reached back out
to me at the end of the week. I think
that's the honest answer. I'm a little annoyed by that,
but that's okay. We're talking this out together. And then
Scott Hansen hype up the red zone. Last year we
had think a little difficulties. I was blaming everyone on
to also a random one because it wasn't tagged, so
we searched red zone.

Speaker 2 (02:53:58):
That was a whole It's kind of just like the
nicest guy and also apologize like hours later. Even like apologies.
It was one of those things like hey, man, like
you're probably good dude. I'm a good dude. We can
leave it where it is. You said some stuff I
didn't like and I answered.

Speaker 3 (02:54:11):
Raindom right like Marilynd report to some random dude. But
Scott Hansen's also very busy. So here's what I don't
want to have happened. Because you've gone through this life.
You've been a host, you've been a producer, You've done it.
Can I can Can I deal with the constant or
check man? Can I go oh for six? Can I
mentally handle that at Does it matter?

Speaker 5 (02:54:28):
Mentally?

Speaker 2 (02:54:29):
It does? Lo back?

Speaker 3 (02:54:30):
Okay, I've never shot over six from the field trying
to book guests. This is a check Maybe I don't
have it anymore if.

Speaker 2 (02:54:36):
I go oh for six. Yeah, I mean there's a
point where you gotta start hitting on the uglies in
the bars. You know what I'm saying. He used to
be able to do with guys in your younger head
more hair book the guests. Wait a minute, last guests
are from me said for your boyfriend Andrew Champagne. That's
the only one that's that's Wow, you've lost it.

Speaker 7 (02:54:55):
Might have lost the touch.

Speaker 3 (02:54:56):
Maybe I you know what, Potentially next week I'll email somebody.

Speaker 2 (02:55:02):
Somebody Dad come on the show. Hey, listen. One thing.
I got a call during the show today. My truck
is ready heading to Milawks Chevrolet. Together, let's drive at
Moloch Chevy because I wanted to have some special stuff
done to the pickup. They were able to get me
the parts I was looking for certified Chevrolet GM parts

(02:55:23):
at and put them on the right way.

Speaker 39 (02:55:25):
You know.

Speaker 2 (02:55:25):
It took a little longer than I expected, but that's
what you want. You want it done right. I'd rather
be mildly in comedians for a day than not have
it the way I want it, the perfect way. This
is a great group of people. They take care of everybody,
from Andy Gelcher, Travis Horn, the GM, Katie Gattuso Duncan,
the assistant GM, the my boy Derek who's the one

(02:55:46):
who actually wrote up the paperwork to get me into Scarjoe.
It's just a great group of people with supplier pricing
right now, it's the perfect time to get in there
and potentially the same thousands of vehicles right there on
the lot. Amazing selection. I'm headed there right now. Go
to Moloch Chevrolet together. Let's drive at Malog Chevy just
off Exit twelve of the Northway where they always go
out of their way to please you. Tomorrow live at Rivers. Yes,

(02:56:08):
we'll see you there. It is Levac Gaze, thank you,
Sarahtoga Racecourse and Fox Sports Radio ninety five nine eighty.
Wash your hands, they'll touch your face and guys hit
that butt.

Speaker 19 (02:56:17):
The looking is them Stop and go on the northbound
side of the north Way as you go north of
Exit six, up towards Exit seven. North of Exit seven
were in pretty good shape. I ninety westbound heavy from
Everett Road over to the north Way seven eighty seven
north and south a pretty good ride
