if you played less than four and I believe it's
twenty per set. In other sports, they didn't come back
but he's decided to keep his year of eligibility leave

the program. Now why is he doing that? Well, more
reports throughout the entire day of service about why he's
decided to do that. According to a report from Pete
Hamill and Adam Rittenberg at the Four Letter Network, his agent,
Marcus Cramarti, has told them that the un lv running
program had a verbal offer. That's Luca was offered one

hundred thousand dollars to join the program. Well, the money
never came, according to the coach, Barry Odom, he never
offered them. That it came from his offensive coordinator, the
inventor of the go go offense, Brendan Marion, who's declined
the compact, can declined comment on that. So, whether it's

the school, whatever, in according to this source, one hundred
thousand dollars was not paid in his direction. Now this
isn't the first time we heard a story like this.
I believe this also involved a quarterback for Florida. Didn't

deal was broken. See I asked that question because I
forgot who what his name was, Jayden Reshada? That was
his name. When I think about Florida quarbacks like this,
he's still there because they probably need him. Where is he?
What happens? So he plays at Georgia now, so now
he's sitting behind Carson back. Jaden Reshada is at Georgia.

So he had issues to how it went down with Florida.
What does this mean? What does it mean for college football?
Does it mean for college athletics? We'll dive deeper into
that later in the show. I got a lot to

you know the Guardians are right there. Mathematically, I think
potentially the entire thing could go through Cleveland if the

Guardians can catch the Bronx Bombers. When it comes to
a record, how about Brewers Pirates at six point forty. Now, look,
Milwaukee with their ninety victories, are likely still gonna be
locked into that three scene. But don't you feel for
what's going on in Pittsburgh. That player Big Rowdy, one
of the fan favorites there for the Pirates story that
happened with him, poor guy was four late appearances at

bats I know those are two different things with walks,
but he had a bonus in his contract where he
was up to two hundred thousand dollars. If Pittsburgh just
let him sit in the major leagues and hit that
two hundred k bonus, Nope, get out of here, dfaid.
Now there's a difference between certain organizations and how they
handle players. The Pirates showing why it wasn't too many

seasons ago right where remember CC Sabathia had that incentive
in his contract and he couldn't hit it because there
was a bench clearing brawl and they still paid them.
That's one of those scenarios. How are you treated by
your organization? How are you entreated by your employers? Your

not letting you hit the bonus and preventing you from

doing it, or they paying you the bonus anyways because
he did something for your team. There's the difference between

the Marlins at seven point forty and Diamondbacks Giants. Look
at this, we are stacked across the board. All these
games really truly have an impact on the New York
teams and the Major League Baseball playoff picture Diamondbacks Giants
nine to forty Chase Field, Oh man, that is not
my play of the day, but Arizona's a heavy favorite
tonight in that game. Gosh, that one's making me think.
All right, let's move on to story number two here.

Story number two involves the New York Yankees taken on
the baltimoreal seven oh five first pitch night, Marcus Troman
on the mount. If you missed the news from earlier
today and Nestor Cortes not the starting pitcher tonight, nester
Cortes placed on the fifteen day IL so note that
again shout out to our guy, Clay Holmes is a
closer noting there is a difference between ten days and
fifteen days. Pitchers go to the fifteen day and if

that holds up Yankee fan because the fifteen day trip,
Nestor Cortez likely not going to be available for the
Alds when that series gets underway, so Cortes out may
not return to the Alcs, will find out his status.
But you don't want to jump ahead to the Alcs

Is it an audition for Stroman? What does it mean?
Are the Yankees only gonna go three deep? Are we

versus New York. Is the top seed, Baltimore a significant

opening round matchup. Minnesota still in contention as well, So
not as many storylines as we had yesterday, and many
storylines as we got from that game, So we shifted
to story number one. The New York Mets take on
the Atlanta Braves tonight. We think probably sort of right now,

seven to twenty first pitch is scheduled for that Mets
and Brains and when that happens, and if you know
what we're talking about, why do I keep saying scheduled?
Sort of? Maybe the storm is a brumin in Atlanta?
What is happening with tonight's game? Are we gonna get
a postponement? Are we gonna get it held off a bit?
By the end of the show. We might have an

answer on that, But if you look across social media,
no decision has been made. Are they gonna play a
doubleheader on Monday? Are they gonna play tomorrow? Are they
gonna play tonight? What is happening and involving the weather
for the Brains and the Mets? Are they gonna get
washed out tonight? When are you gonna make the decision?
When is it gonna happen? Mets fans, Braves fans, you

guys are fighting for your life to get to the postseason.
You have no idea if the gonna get played tonight.
It seems like they're gonna do everything in their power
to play at seven to twenty tonight. You love that
Met fan David Peterson's on the mound for you. Every
time he pitches Levac and I give him love. I
don't know what happened. I don't know what caused it.
I don't know why every time I see the same

stupid thing that we're a David Peterson's stand show. But

as long as that fantastic career as if I'm like

He's had better season than Discreber. But he's been fantastic

they might remember this a little bit better than me.
Wasn't that like a resumed game and then the next
game was scheduled to be played. That's how they figured

out that rain shortened World Series and they never got
to the next game because the Phillies won the World Series. Anyways,
that's sixteen years ago when weather played that much of
a factor in that game. There was times in like
the COVID season and moving games around and tie breakers,
but man, I can't think of one off the top
of my head that really was me figuring out, like,
how are they gonna move these pieces around to get

It is the new trend of the NFL, and again
Trevor Lawrence having to face the music and the hot
seat of whatever that means as a quarterback position was
making over two hundred million dollars. I feel like I
figured out the answer. I feel like I know the
answer to why we're getting so vague in the NFL.

If it's not your team that was just listed, trust me,
that team could be on the way in the future.
This seems to be the new style. I wonder if
this is how it goes. Is college sports rubbing off
on professional sports? Are professional athletes maybe the quarterback position
in particular a little bit ooh. I don't want to
say the word softer than they used to be. Now,

if you're a bit older, more of a veteran listener,
he might be nod in your head. You're like, yes, guys,
you figured it out. The quarterbacks are softer. They can't
take criticism, they can't handle it. They don't want to
be embarrassed. Is there more of a focus on the
quarterback position now in twenty twenty four than ever before
in the history of the league, No doubt, And that's
proven by the amounts of the salaries and how high
these things go. But you would think in professional sports

in comparison to college that if you offend somebody, if
you say they're the starter, that's not actually offending them.
That's speaking facts and truth. This guy starting this week,
he's our better option, he's our better player. The other
guys stunk, He's not good, he didn't play well enough.
We're going on. That is sports to it. I don't
care if it's high school, college, the NFL. If one

guy's playing better than the other, it's not personal. He's
playing better. We're competing, We're trying to win. That's what's
going on here. But for whatever reason, Pittsburgh doesn't want
to offend Russell Wilson. I've heard some takes naturally, luckily
not on this side of Fox Sports. That well, Russell
Wilson's earned the respect not to be named a backup. Wait,

what what do you mean, earn the respect not to
be a backup? What world warped reality do you live in?
You're not on the field, you're not playing, you're the backup.
That is the odd thing. Well, we actually didn't lose
the game. We just didn't win the game. Wait what

I remember that's what the heat that took out at
Central New York for a while when they let go
of brenn Ax, one of the hosts out there because
the owner out there, Ed Levine said it was not
nice to Syracuse. We have a lot of these Homer
radio stations that maybe the owner of the teams, and
like Jim Beheimo own's distinction that you're trying to trick
the audience, trick the consumer of no, no, no, that's
not really what happened. We're gonna change the message, whether

that is from teams, politicians, whether it's from media companies, movies,
fans of TV shows. I'm sure that happens a lot
more often in manipulating the message has come across. But
football fans and sports fans aren't that dumb because they
watched the product and listen to the product. Justin Fieldz
is playing better. You're not gonna offend Russell Wilson my

saying the truth of he's better, he's younger, we want him.
What's gonna happen if Gardner Minshew gets offended that the
Raiders have went with a younger option who played for
the team last year, what's you gonna do? Quin can't guys,
you can't transfer? Well, touch on the unil vikan in
the third hour. It's gonna quit. He's gonna leave the team.

It's not gonna happen. They aren't in these situations like
Cleveland's in with Deshaun Watson guaranteed money. They're not in
this situation like Trevor Lawrence, who's notgn A two hundred
plus million dollars year. They aren't stuck with the guys
they just talked about. But yet there, Oh, you gotta
be careful. Can't name anybody. We have a plethora of
options we have to consider to make it for Tim Boyle,

Skyler Thompson. Where the hell's Ryan Tannehill. That's how we
have to treat people now, like the idea that you
can't offend somebody because they're not playing well and have
to warp this reality and I get it, like, maybe
that is the athlete now that when they went through
high school and they went through college that if you
said something bad about the quarterback play, they can get
up and leave. They're not under contracts, and there are

a lot of people who are pushing for college athletes
to be under contracts, even though they technically are under
contracts because they are on a one year scholarship. That's
one of the biggest misconceptions in the history of sports
that when you signed you a school, you think you're
on a four year scholarship, No, no, no, one year, and
then the coach in the programs to sign whether or
not they're going to renew your scholarship for season number two,

and it some takes, you might see a walk on
athlete get that scholarship instead. It's not a four year
contract or four year scholarship. I'm shocked by this, Like
you would think with all the money in the NFL
that when a guy's not playing well, the words we've
replaced him, he's no longer the starter would be university,

you gotta get the montage video of the athlete even
though they hated being there for the last few years.
Then you might have to retire there. This has to

that social media is so mean to the athlete, but

the athlete has a warped pursue. I hope we're not
gonna get even more away from reality in the next
five to ten to fifteen years in sports that like
we have to have it like a new position. Starter
number two. We can't offend the athlete we got. I
can't call him backup, can't call them the guy who

prepar ration area where if anything goes wrong, you're preparing

there and mentally understand what was going on, just name
