Speaker 4 (00:19):
My friend here, It's been a long day for you,
my friend, Are you all right?

Speaker 2 (00:22):
I looked like say used to look after games like it.
You know when before before coach he say, when he
was player, say, and you know he was you'd been
battling to the trenches all day. That's how I feel today.
But uh, we we knew from the beginning. Actually this
I gotta I gotta tell the whole story real quick.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Brandon Ces joining us right now on Lovack and Guys.
I've always known Sisay as the most loyal just he
always knew what to say to motivate the dudes to
do the right thing. So like if you needed something
said to the locker room, you go, hey, hey, Ce,
say this and this, and then Sis would walk in
you didn't need to be in there, and then everybody

(01:01):
would come out and go. We understand now, like you know,
on certain terms and now, and I was really blessed
at one point. I just I don't even know why.
I looked over to c Say on one of the
events around. I was like, you're think of coaching, and
your eyes lit up and you started talking like he's
breaking down defenses in ways I've never I've never heard
him speak before. And that's why I'm thrilled. For those

(01:23):
of you who missed the press conference, the new defensive
coordinator for your Albany Fibers, Brandon sees.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Man, thank you for having me. Thanks for having me. Man, God,
it's so good man. I can't even I'm lust for
words right now. I'm just ready to get to work
as well. So but you're always I'm glad. I'm happy man,
I'm happy to be here.

Speaker 5 (01:38):
Man.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
It's you know, like I say, I feel like I'm
at home anyway.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
So well, you're you gotta be sick aware by now.
You guys are working together with the Vikings and Utton
Valley and just finished a great season with the Fibers.
There's like I love where too, But you need a break,
don't you?

Speaker 3 (01:51):
You know what you always need to have you know
like minds around you, right, So, and I'm always you
want to be put myself in a situation where that
I can always gro I look at coach, where's like
a mentor, alright, you know, just learning in the process
of doing things and being prepared and how to leave
my team and how to do things efficiently. So having

(02:12):
him in my life as far as being a coach,
he's been it's actually an honor, you know. Shit, me
and him in twenty one and just seeing how he's
just a mastermind of what he does. But all the
little things that he does great is what really struck
out for me. And I was like, you know what,
I need to get up under his wing and see
what happens.

Speaker 4 (02:29):
I know a lot of the TV, that's right.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
I know a lot of the TV outlets and the
newspaper are still working on the story from today. So
if you are listening to us right now, you can
add this to the coach, he says byline, because I.

Speaker 4 (02:38):
Believe this is true.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
You are the only professional athlete in the history of
the Capitol Region to win three championships. I don't think
got anybody else in the history of Hall beings. So
add that to the lines. Add that to the story
of the hiring of coach. He said, I know Lavac
choked around about this during the press conference. You are
officially retired, well officially retired. Yeah, do not listen to you.

(03:02):
Let's do not wait to come to that.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
When they when they came out and said it was
not gonna be iron Man, right, you didn't at least
think about it for a hard second. I was just
rushing the past.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
I wouldn't be getting you guys a just a do
justice as did it run past them?

Speaker 2 (03:17):
My yes.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
I looked at the wife and she's.

Speaker 5 (03:20):
Like, I wasna the missage, Like, I'm just like I said,
you know, coaching has always been my dream and believe
it or not, guys, eventually, one day I will be
the head coaching on the NFL team.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
I promise you guys that. And so I'm just taking
my steps to where I'm gonna be. And I am
okay with being Robinson Batman right. You can't learn too much.
I've always been an open book, a sponge, and I'm
really dedicated to this thing. I'm really serious about it.
I love just you know, competing obviously, but watching the
guys in front of me development being great men at

(03:57):
the end of the day, right, So it's uh, it's
an honor to do it and watching great people like
yourselves coach, where you guys move around, how you do things.
I just want to be around that, you know, because
my grandfather used to say that. My late grandfather just
sell all the time. You are who you hang out with.
So you're a champion. You're a champion.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
I thank you, I.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
Know, but you guys, you know, when we first met
and we were talking in eighteen where it was at nineteen,
about what we're gonna do that season, I was like, championship,
you know, when you guys had when you guys are
at the studio. And I didn't just say that to
be just you know, messing around. I honestly believed it,
and that's what it was. And it's all about preparation, right.
And another thing is, you know, just being locked in
on what you really want to do in life, whether

(04:41):
it be football or whatever it is. If you just
take your steps every single day, right, you'll get there.
You'll get there eventually.

Speaker 4 (04:48):
He sounds like a coach. I don't even doing it,
but like I feel like a different person.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
I'll tell you, She say the player, it's kind of
a man. A few words said the when you talk
to him about coaching, I told you I think I
called you that night, and dude, I didn't. I never
knew that Ces was this passionate about coaching. When you
say you're gonna be an NFL he coach one day,
I'm I'm almost looking forward to you ignored my calls. No,
I'm almost.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
I'm almost I'm almost excited about absolutely not absolutely not, man,
But that's you know, we all have to strive for greatness,
you know, and like I said, being a coach where
once again you know him, you know, but this is
the things that he's you know, he's accomplished and this,
this is the things that I want as well. So
it's always good to learn and understand everything about it.
You know you can. There's you can never obtain perfection,

(05:37):
right never, But if you chase perfection, you get excellence.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Since again he's all he's got.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
So that's what I'm doing. I love this. So I'm doing.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Man Ran Safe, defensive coordinator of the Albity firebers All
The Bat Guy's Live at Mohawks Chavy on Fox Sports
Radio ninety five ninet to ninet eighty.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
The cool part about this not just for your playing career,
but now your coaching career, especially on defense. You know
how loud it's gonna get v course, you know.

Speaker 4 (06:01):
How much the crowd plays into it.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
What is that going to be like for you standing
behind the boards and feeling that emotion as a coach
leading the defense knowing.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
He's on the field though.

Speaker 4 (06:11):
I'm thinking about heading the broadcast.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
You know what, I might have a helmet on, man.
You never know, no, you know what, It's an unbelievable
thing to be able to leave these guys and actually
be there with them and doing my journey as a
defensive coordinator or another spot in the coaching realm and
just letting them understand what the ninth man is around
here and what it really means. I really love this region.

(06:36):
I've been here since eighteen, right and officially we were
just talking about earlier for a couple of years here. Now.
I have a beautiful family, beautiful wife, just things. So
this is my home from home, is what I'm trying
to get at, and them embracing the the love right,
the love, the honor, the hard work that has been
put in over the years to now and this is

(06:56):
their time. And I always used to tell those guys
even when I was playing, like, hey, youngsters, this is
your time now, and what are you gonna do with it?
Right again, Maximize in the moment and hopefully these guys
understand the tradition, the culture that hasn't been built here
and do what they do best and have my attitude
about it, you know. On the field, man, I'm excited

(07:17):
to see these guys play. I mean, obviously, if you
look at our ruster right now, we're not playing around
and now we talk to defense, so I'll get a
little bit serious. But I'm I'm going to challenge every
offense coordinator every single night that you got to earn it.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
I love it. I love it. Like I said, I
think the only the only way I love more is
if you know, again, if we could you know, kind
of coach you back onto the field.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
But you know, but this is this is exciting, and
you know, I said it earlier, and I've said it.
I've said it on other shows. Sorry I cheated on
you early today. I heard, I heard, But this is
this group feels like family, like your family, like we've
I've seen what you've gone through to go out there
and win for the Capital region. I've seen what you

(07:57):
do to to hone your craft where you know you're
helping high school's coach, you're off coaching in college, you're
coaching the year you and again you're when he speaks
in the locker room guys as a player coach, people,
they shut the hell up like it's it's it's impressive
to me, like you're obviously a leader of men. And
I'm just I'm thrilled that I'm part of I could
see it.

Speaker 3 (08:16):
Man, It's awesome. Man. I thank you guys for having
me on too. And also I just want to think
the organization right in general. Just give me an opportunity
to leave my dream because you know I can do
it without these guys and give and coach trusted me,
and uh so I'm not gonna take that with a
grainy sat at all. And I'm trying to make history,
you know, not just this year, but for decades with

(08:37):
you guys.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
You got you and your family have some exciting challenges
on the way. And I say that for somebody whose
wife is also pregnant right now, Uh.

Speaker 4 (08:45):
January, I think is the due date mindset in November. So,
boy boy, I'm a boy coming.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
To Uh don't say this too loudly, but how is
the challenges so far are pregnant?

Speaker 4 (08:54):
Wives are wonderful and the woman in our life.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
He's said, stay smarter than you, guys. He's not challenging.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
You.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
Challenge journey we're going on to have you ever seen?
He says? Where? Bring?

Speaker 4 (09:06):
It's a weird thing.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
It's a journey, he says it.

Speaker 4 (09:09):
How was it the last few weeks been?

Speaker 3 (09:11):
It's been great? Honestly, we're just so excited about you know.
First of all, we have an addition to our family
and me just being a father. You know, I come
from humble beginning, so that's all I ever wanted to
do is be a great father. You know, I'm not
the best at it, but I just try to be great,
you know, and just learning and understanding how much she, actually,
my wife puts in the work, you know, as far

(09:33):
as this big guy come along with just us together
being a team is awesome. So I'm very excited. Can't
wait till he gets here and we'll get him going.
We'll get some paths going.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
So I can't wait to see you coaching in the
in the delivery room. Mirca, honey, you got this. And
I can't thank her.

Speaker 3 (09:54):
She's she's definitely the anchor of our family. And Coach
always told me, you know, hey, you need to have
somebody with you that understands that this is a this
is for the long haul. But at the same time,
it's a lot of time. And I said, you know what, Coach,
my wife, she's ready, man, she understands that she wants
me to live my dream. And I'm so grateful for her.
So I thank God for her every day honestly. So yeah, man,

(10:14):
I'm very happy. And uh, we're we're excited to see him, all.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
Right, one more before we before we let you guys
get you know, obviously she's been tolerating our cow for
a little while now. When you're when when you're at
that podium in the NFL, sir, do you see a logo?

Speaker 3 (10:31):
Is it?

Speaker 2 (10:31):
Have you ever like when you when the dream when
you dare to dream, is there a logo or is
it just no?

Speaker 3 (10:35):
Ever? No, not at all.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
I haven't because Antonio Pierce is killing me hopefully.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
Uh we have Coach where next to me too as well. Oh,
all right, okay, side of things work, so you know.
But just like I'm being honest with you guys, you know,
you have to believe in you know, and honestly believe
in yourself and you can do anything you want. You know,
keep God first in your life. And that's another thing
on thank God for just the opportunities that he's gave me.
And uh he's continued to bless me the things he

(11:02):
has done when he hasn't done yet. I just thank
him already. And so with God, who's against me. I mean,
you know, we live every day, like I said, our
last for a reason. You know, I want to max
like I said, I want to maximize the moment. This
moment right here is gonna always be special to me
for the rest of my life. So it's always good
to have great, like I said, great people around you.
I'm so happy for the Firebird family. I don't say

(11:24):
fans because that's just too far. So I've seen kids
grow up in this thing since I've been here, and uh,
seeing families and everything grow, so it's family to me.
So like you said earlier, yeah man, you bring in,
you bring these juncters in and let them know, hey,
we have to get things done.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
Congratulations on a great day for you and your family.

Speaker 3 (11:43):
Thank you.

Speaker 4 (11:43):

Speaker 3 (12:02):
Yeah, a little shout out to the rock man. He's
very expressional.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
I do, I do. I'm just man, I'm I'm thrilled.
I can't wait to see you yelling at people on
the product field. It's my man gets loud. It's funny
like you if you haven't seen it.

Speaker 3 (12:15):
We got to try to get after it. Man. You know,
the games are the fun parts and I always tell
them a lot. You know, when you play the game,
that's your night, that's your time. But you know, Monday
through Friday, that's all me. We gotta put it in
this work and pants some detail, understand what's at hand,
and there's you know, as much as giving much as required,
and that's a while. We are about around here.

Speaker 2 (12:35):
So you just know that I'm gonna keep putting paths
in your locker. I'm gonna keep making sure there's a
helmet defense.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
It's just hilarious.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
I just you know, listen, I just I don't give
up easy. I just but I you know, I listen. Listen.
