Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's a backing GUZ on ninety five nine Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
The wind picks up right, we'll be looking back. We're
live at the Albady Saratogas Speedway. It is the third
annual Upstate Chevy Dealers Autism Acceptance Race is joining us
right now. One of our good friends, one of the
guys racing tonight, Jordan Modiano.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
How are you?
Speaker 2 (00:20):
How you look? You look like you're up against it.
Speaker 3 (00:22):
Man. You good, you've been You've got a lot going on. Yeah,
there's definitely a lot going on. I'm uh, I'm excited,
I'm worn out, I'm tired, I'm running on adrenaline and
I'm hungry.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
The best part about Jordan, like can we get stand
amand sausage?
Speaker 1 (00:36):
Can we get that?
Speaker 4 (00:38):
The best part we see Jordan now like we're used
to him maybe being suited up a little bit, the
dress pants, the professional you feel like a player walking
to the locker room, getting ready for the big game.
You've got the look, you've got the feel, you got
the editor. You gotta have that feel right now where
it feels like a big day for you, to big
race for everybody.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
Oh. Absolutely, it's amazing in the outpouring of support. It's
just it's incredible. The text message that have been coming
in about what we've done in the event, and you know,
put the race aside. Just what we've done for autism
is huge. Now put on the race and that's that's amazing, too,
biggest race in the United States for this class is
I'm speechless, all right.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
So I just saw the truck pull in, the Upstate
Chevy truck representing the race racers for Autism. That thing
is beautiful. It's it's they'll tell they'll tell Scargos that
might be better looking than my truck.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
And I don't like that.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
I was never told that was gonna happen.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
So your truck's a Chevy, that's a Chevy. They're both beautiful,
and I believe it at that. You know, Upstate Chevy
Dealers is the bomb. Well just yeah, that's all I
could say. Beautiful though, beautiful it is, and you know,
Upstate Chevy Dealers in their support is incredible. They understand
how important this cause is. Yeah, and they love racing
and they understand that. You know, hey, guys drive Chevy
(01:51):
cars for racing. We use Chevy truck to tow the trailers,
but it's bigger than that, and they get that and
maybe behind the autism acceptance and huge thank to them.
And you see who's ready across from them, right.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
GT Toys, which is nice because we're in the traveling
GT Toys studio Toys with a z uh and now
we've actually got the logos up around us, which is
kind of kind of nice to see it. And if
any of those quads have a plow on them and
they fit in the back of my truck, we can
probably make a deal today.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
Yeah, right, definitely, you know. But they're also a big supporter.
You know. If you guys get a chance and you
look out on the track, you'll see giant GT Toy
sign on the track. You go look at my car,
you can see it on the car. You guys can't
see it from here now, not.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
Since the every because all the all the stuff starting
to come in, like this is a festival. Every every
Friday is a.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
Feste every Friday festival. It's amazing here. Yeah, you know,
and you guys got to come more often. You should
be doing this once a week.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Listen, didn't I didn't come here for a handful of shames,
Sir I agree. I listen. I told guys before the
show started this if you want to date a single mom,
this is the place to go. Her and the kids here,
and she is gonna have it. She's a sweet man her.
Here's a two dollars coffee. I'm generous. I'm telling you
(03:08):
it's the way to go. You think I'm kidding those
A kid do coach?
Speaker 4 (03:12):
Uh, this is my first time here.
Speaker 3 (03:14):
You would think I would say, because you're not a
single mom. That's right.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
I never brought you here before. I have a role
tonight though the BAC. I'm the auctioneer today, Jordan. I
think for those who don't know, take us through what
that role is and maybe for me, what is that
role tonight for me? And how people can get involved?
Speaker 3 (03:29):
So real easy or not? So everything's perspective, right, you know,
for me it seems easy. It's like this is a layup.
But this is all new to you. So I'll give
you the low down. To get into the race, you
have to qualify. So this qualifying and the people who
qualify are going to have the first twenty sixth positions.
(03:52):
Then the twenty seventh position will be a whole of
a twenty five lap race that win who gets the
twenty seventh position, and then other positions of provisionals will
get filled until either twenty nine or thirtieth. Commonly in races.
What we'll do on big races will take the top
twelve and we do what's called the redraw, and they
just reach in they pick a number out, and wherever
that number is, that's where they're going to start. There
(04:15):
was a charity race last Sunday or two sundays ago,
and it was for veterans called the Sunflower fifty. And
I wasn't there, but I heard about it through the grapevine,
and they auctioned off the first place, the pole position,
and they use the drivers who wanted to pay the
most towards the charity got that position. So tonight what
(04:35):
we're going to do, and we're going to get the
fans involved, and it'll be kind of on the back
of where you're sitting, on the other side of these
grand stands, not on the track, just before the track
by the flaggers stand. We'll have the top twelve drivers
there and you, as the auctioneer, will ask the fans
how much do they want a bid to put their
(04:55):
driver on the pole, and you know, somebody to say
a thousand dollars, two thousand dollars, three thousand dollars when
you finally get the person with the most money, like
twenty six thousand dollars. You know, I'm just thinking big, right,
we want to do a lot for the cause. What
driver do you want? And they'll pick a driver and
that driver sits on the pole, and then the decks
two through twelve will pick and they'll pick. But so
(05:19):
your job is going to be drive that money. All right,
here we go. We don't have a ton of you're good.
Speaker 4 (05:25):
We got driver number one back one thousand dollars, number two.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
Number two.
Speaker 3 (05:30):
Gotta play it like that.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
Oh no, no, we got a bit here, one thousand, five
hundred for driver three.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
I'll be afraid to pull your money, kids, Yeah, pull your.
Speaker 3 (05:36):
Money, absolutely, pull your money. Let's go. Let's make it happen,
you know. But you've got definitely got to push that. Yeah,
and uh, they'll.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
Be fun part of it.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
It's all for autism, you know, all right, you check to
racist for autism. Hey, it's it's a charitable day donation,
you know, right, that's what it is. So you can do.
Speaker 4 (05:53):
It for people who want to find out more information
in the website. If for whatever reason mayb they're listening
on the iHeart app, maybe they can't make it in.
How can they continue to support this great cause.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
Racers four number four Autism dot com, Racers for Autism
dot com, Big Red Buttons is donate here. We can
have some special stuff coming a little bit later in
the year, chances to win like an ATV from GT Toys.
Stay tuned with that. Follow us on Facebook. You can
follow Modi Anam Motorsports on Facebook. You can follow Race
for Racers for Autism on Facebook. There's a lot of
(06:23):
different stuff. But join on mailing list. If you go
to Racersfoautism dot com, you can make a donation, join
the mailing list. There's a lot of things you can do.
You know, one in thirty six kids diagnosed with autism.
So we all know somebody.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
I've noticed something in it's usually donated and you haven't
yet know that that was No, that is what you
do when you get up there in your auction.
Speaker 4 (06:44):
Here was what I was going to say, is that
I've noticed something that usually when people appear on the show,
they feel like they're too big for us later on.
I feel like that's happened with somebody that you know
very well. It might be your daughter who used to
be a guest on the show, but now she's moved
on a bigger and better things.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
This is her, this is her fiefdom, this is we're
in her land now. Yes, she will, she will be
here later, she will. So after you do your auction
and we've get everybody lined up and ready to go,
everybody's gonna pull out onto the track and we'll nose
in onto the front stretch and hopefully you guys will
still be here to see that, and they'll get out
of their cars and we'll do driver introductions. And once
(07:21):
all the driver introductions are done, everybody gets back in
their car and my daughter will say, drivers, start your engine,
and we'll start the engines. Then, in true Magnificent Show fashion,
the drivers will do a four wide pace lap, so
four cars line by line by line. It's it's pretty
(07:42):
cool to say, you know, and when as a group
of drivers we can get it and get the lines good,
which is hard with the transmissions that we have, and
if the pace isn't fast enough, but it's pretty cool
to say, after we do a four wide pace lap
and it's a salute to autism and all those affected
by it. We'll line up and get ready to go,
and she'll scream or she'll throw that green flag and
(08:06):
it's pretty wild and for somebody with autism to do that.
You want to talk about censory.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
Over I was gonna say she always been good with
oh no, because she loves it, and it's.
Speaker 3 (08:17):
She loves it well in advance and after the fact,
but by eight o'clock tonight she's gonna be Mommy, I
can't do this, but I need to go home. We're done.
I'm not doing it. This is stupid. And that's just
we know that's coming. We know what's going to happen,
and we know if we say, okay, we're going home,
she's going to say, no, we have to do this.
(08:38):
So it's a combination of the autism and the anxiety
and all the other challenges that she faces every single day.
It's why she's exhausted, you know. It's why seven thirty
at nights she's ready to go to sleep because she's
mentally exhausted from getting through the day.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
I just I mean, because anxiety. Listen, we all face
it in one way or another. But to have it
at that level and for her to do this, it's
I mean, it's amazing. It just shows you how much
just the activity itself is helpful for people with autism.
Now we can raise the money and do the studies
and man, it's definitely something we're thrown in too.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
You know.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
And add to that, today was her first day in
high school. Oh man, So, I mean the stress level
for her has been hot, and we've seen it over
the last week over here complained about a website. Yeah,
everything is perspective. Yeah, you know, everything's perspective. You know,
we've seen her behavior change over the last week, and
we know what it's attributed to. It's attributed to school
(09:36):
and new school, new teachers, new environment, new expectations, and uh,
you can't run and hide.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
Man, Well, this is your chance to actually celebrate and
enjoy and do great. Come to the Aubny Saratoga Speed
where there's plenty of time. Right now, the cars are
still rolling in. The GT Toys is set up a
bunch of their toys. Uh, you know, your vendors are
opening up up to it's the perfect guzz has already
been asking if you can go get a blue slushy.
Abby told him no, when.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
You guys get a break, go walk over and just
look at some of that auction stuff. A lot of
it's not here yet and it's coming, but it's amazing
stuff that just people have donated to help us raise money.
And this is a silent auction. You put in your
bid and silent auction, you buy your tickets and you're
just so Actually, I think they call it a Chinese auction.
I don't know what they call it. You buy a
roll of tickets and you just drop tickets in the
(10:26):
things you want and then they'll pick a ticket and
if it's your number, you went perfect.
Speaker 2 (10:30):
Love it. Jordan Man. We appreciate you. Thanks you lett
us be a part of this. Make your donations now.
It's simple, it's easy, racers, the number four Autism dot
com big red donate button. It's simple. You don't even
notice it coming out of your Yeah, you can find it,

Speaker 1 (10:44):

Speaker 2 (10:44):
I want you to put it on your computer and
click on it. Jordan Man, good luck tonight. So you
still have to finish tweak in the car.
Speaker 3 (10:51):
Still gonna finish tweek and the cost they'll have to
go get it through tech inspection. Uh yeah, I still
got quite a bit to do. I don't even think
of that.
Speaker 2 (10:59):
So there's somebody here to make sure it's a safe vehicle,
to be on the on the on the.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
Court safe, and make sure you're not cheating.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
Are you cheating?
Speaker 3 (11:07):
Yeah? Absolutely, I can't compete with these guys.
Speaker 4 (11:11):
But I thought he was like trying to hustle other
racers who were listing. No, my car is not even done.
I don't know what to be like. No, I don't
think it's a play at all. This is really just
the real prep for the big race coming up.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
No, I'm cheating.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
The great cars, great car everything, everything.
Speaker 3 (11:28):
Going to go against everything I believe in and cheating.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
Finally, finally someone who says it.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
For all the racers who are listening, who know what
I'm talking about. I'm gonna order my motive from Canada.
So what you guys don't know is one of the
Canadian builders was just disqualified and not allowed to build
engines anymore.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
Really, yeah, sur but what we did there you allowed
to run on Maple Surry. Sorry, guys, sorry about it.
We're not gonna be here in no more, all right,

him hopefully win this thing a little bit later on tonight. Jordan,

Speaker 3 (12:12):

Speaker 2 (12:13):

Speaker 4 (12:23):
