Tuesday night, Lima City Council voted to make its members
eligible for the cities health insurance benefits. Wednesday, Ima Mayor
SHERBRETA Smith vetoed that ordinance. Smith said her veto reflects
her responsibility as mayor to protect the long term financial
stability of the city. She reiterated Limaz facing uncertain and
challenging financial obligations and said the ordinance allowing council members

access to the city's healthcare benefits would create an open
ended entitlement that introduces unpredictable costs into their self insured
health system. The mayor also says she's concerned it will
set a precedent of expectations of health benefits for part
time employees. Council could move to override the mayor's veto

The Arden County Sheriff's Office is investigating a homicide in
Mount Victory. It happened just after midnight Wednesday morning. Arden

County Central Dispatch got nine one one calls about a
stabbing incident in Mount Victory. When deputies arrived, they found
forty eight year old James Collins of Mount Victory and
the street suffering from several stab wounds. He later died
at Hardin Memorial Hospital. A suspect, forty six year old
Andrew McCafferty of Mount Victory, was taken into custody. Charges

are pending. Tuesday night, a motorcyclist was killed in a
crash in Auglaize County. The Highway Patrol says it happened
about nine o'clock Tuesday night on US thirty three, westbound
west of molten Fordamanda Road. The Patrol says twenty four
year old Riley Bradford of Solana was operating a motorcycle
westbound on thirty three when he struck a vehicle from

the rear. He succumbed to fatal injuries on the scene.
No other injuries were reported. The Patrol says Bradford was
not wearing a helmet. Also, alcohol and drugs are not
suspected to be factors in the crash. A new law
has just gone into effect in Ohio that protects children

Ohio's new operating budget is about to change life in
a big way. Starting Wednesday, anyone who wants to watch
online pornography will need to prove there over eighteen by
uploading a driver's license or personal data to a third
party service. Backers say it protects children, but critics warned
it could create a permanent log of viewing habits that

could be hacked. Pornhub and other major sites have already
pulled service in states with similar laws.

Avenue was robbed yesterday. It happened just before six pm.
Finley police were dispatched to a report of a robbery.
They found four suspects had stolen about sixty five hundred
dollars worth of merchandise. Store employees attempted to take pictures
of the suspects. One of them threatened to shoot the

employee for doing so. The suspects then fled the area
in a black cheap compass with a temporary tag. Officers
located the vehicle on County Road ninety nine, approaching IS
seventy five and made a traffic stop. Four suspects were
taken into custody and the stolen property was recovered. Among
the suspects were two juveniles plus twenty two year old

Shane Greer of Toledo and nineteen year old Antiana Boone
of Sylvania. To Washington, a government shutdown continues after a
vote to end it failed in the Senate yesterday, as
both parties blame each other. Foxes Lucas Tomlinson reports from Washington.
