Speaker 1 (00:00):
A man with dementia who went missing last night and
Putnam County was eventually found unharmed. Just after eight o'clock
last night, a State Highway patrolman was approached by someone
saying they could not find their family member. It was
learned that a seventy three year old mail with dementia
had left his home and had not been seen for
an extended period of time. OSP then contacted its aviation

(00:23):
unit for assistance. Also, drones were used and a trained
bloodhound was brought in. Due to the proximity of the
Auglais River boat resources were dispatched as well. About an
hour later, the man was located near the river, stuck
in the mud, awake and alert. He was approximately one
third mile from his last known location. After about twenty minutes,

(00:45):
they were able to get the man extricated from the mud. Fortunately,
he suffered only minor injuries. Yesterday, in Kaleida, a leading
turnkey automation solutions provider announced a major expansion. BK tool
in Design will build a fifty thousand square foot addition
to its Collida facility. The company is expected to add

(01:06):
thirty seven new jobs to support the five point four
million dollar expansion project. BK Tool and Design was founded
in nineteen eighty one. Today it operates out of an
eight hundred thousand square foot facility offering a wide array
of in house manufacturing, mechanical, electrical, and control engineering capabilities.
Kevin Khali from BK Tool and Design noted collaboration and

(01:29):
the efforts of local schools, economic development organizations, and workforce
boards and helping get the project done. The expansion project
is expected to begin in the fourth quarter. Some Ohio
counties will be going back to paper poll books for
the upcoming primary on May sixth. Ohio Secretary of State
Frank LeRose has issued in order due to security concerns

(01:52):
with an electronic pollbook device. He has not said which
counties are, how many counties are impacted so far, or
do you report? From Dennison University claims paper poll books
will be in use in more than half of Ohio's
eighty eight counties. The states of Ohio and Indiana's Departments
of Transportation are testing a self driving truck concept to

(02:13):
long I seventy. Colin Dorsey of WBNSTV in Columbus and
then N reports Here's how it works.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
There are two trucks, and the first one is driven
traditionally with someone behind the wheel the whole time. The
second following truck is the partially automated one. It's controlling
its entire movement, speed and lane changes, but there's still
someone ready to take over at a moment's notice. ODOT
tells me they believe the computer has a faster reaction

(02:41):
time than a human, therefore potentially increasing safety out on
the roadways.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Thanks to then n's Colin Dorsey for that report, the
FAA says the tour company that operated the helicopter that
crashed into the Hudson River last Thursday, killing six people,
has shut down. An emergency order was issued by the
FAA grounding New York Helicopter Charter, Inc. Which operated that chopper.
Investigators have recovered two pieces of a tour helicopter. The

(03:10):
FAA is also beginning a comprehensive review of operations by
the company. The federal government has paused more than two
billion dollars in grants to Harvard University. The move comes
after the schools that it would not accept the Trump
administration's conditions to continue federal funding. Those demands include punishing
students who took part in pro Hamas protests that disrupted

(03:32):
day to day activities on campus last year. The administration
says the harassment of Jewish students is intolerable. And yesterday
the Ohio State Buckeye football team was at the White
House to be honored by President Trump and Ohio Native
Vice President JD. Vance for their national championship. President Trump,

(03:53):
welcome to the Buckeyes.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
But today is my great honor to welcome the twenty
twenty four college football national champions the Ohio State University.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
As for Vance, he recalled the national championship game was
the same day as the inauguration.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
I asked the President on January the twenty. They said, Sir,
would you mind if I skipped that final inaugural ball
to go to the Ohio State National championship game? And
the President said no, but we'll have him at the
White House. So here we are.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Later in the proceedings, Vance just barely avoided catastrophe when
he handled the trophy and it became separated from its base.
Luckily it was caught before it hit the ground. That's
the news you need this morning. More available at our
