Final prep underway for Star Spangled Spectacular; St. Joe Festival begins today; Fireworks are legal in Ohio today through Saturday with some exceptions; The Big Beautiful Bill fight nears its end; Ohioans encouraged to check unclaimed funds

Tomorrow is Independence Day and the thirty first edition of
Lima's Star Spangled Spectacular will be held at for Road Park.
The day begins at the Freedom five k Run at
nine am. Later in the day tomorrow there will be
a veterans appreciation car show, a youth fishing derby, face
painting and food trucks. The Lime Area Concert Band will

perform at the pavilion at for Road Park at eight pm,
leading into the fireworks at ten pm. The City of
Lima's Director of Parks and Recreation, Rick Stally, talked about
the route for the Freedom five k ron.

We're back to running the original route, which is mostly
down goes down Market here and right on past into
the square and then up the river Walk past the
fire station there and then the river Walk all the
way back to the park. So minimal disturbance to the
city streets. But boy, we had a great crowd last year.
We look forward to that again this year.

Meanwhile, the Saint Joseph Church Festival and WAPA Canetta celebrates
at seventy fifth Anniverse has. The two day event begins
today at the Auglais County Fairgrounds tom ve Horn with
the Saint Joe festival says, as always, there will be food, games,
music and fun for all ages, and many folks will
win big in the Grand Sizzler drawing.

only sell twenty five hundred tickets and it's got your

V Horn also pointed out that every hour there is
an attendance prize, as seventy five dollars will go to
someone on the grounds. The Diamond Anniversary edition of the
Saint Joe Festival culminates with fireworks tomorrow night at eleven pm.
The first fireworks show in the area is tonight at
the Hancock County Fairgrounds in Findlay at ten pm. There

will be music and activities throughout the day before the
fireworks show. In addition to the Star Spangled Spectacular in
Lima and the Saint Joe Festival in Wapakanetta, many other
communities will have fireworks displays Tomorrow night, including Canon, Delphus
and Van Wert. Meanwhile, the Indian Lake Fireworks Show will
be Saturday night, launching from the South Bank at ten pm.

As far as those amateur displays of fireworks, Ohioans can
legally set off fireworks today through Saturday. However, the Ohio
State Fire Marshal says fireworks might be prohibited because of
certain city ordinances. So if you're unsure if you can
set them off in your area, ask your local law
enforcement office. There's fireworks of a different kind. In Washington,

the House of Representatives voted two nineteen to two thirteen
to begin debate on President Trump's One Big, Beautiful Bill
early this morning. It came after House Speaker Mike Johnson
delayed the vote after several Republicans voted with Democrats against
the bill and others had yet to cast their vote.
Fox's Chad Pergram as the latest from Washington.

You had a group of eight Republicans who had not voted.
Scott Perry, a Republican from Pennsylvania who is part of
this group, had headed back to Pennsylvania, according to House
Speaker Mike Johnson, to get a change of clothes. It
was a couple hour drive back to Washington, DC. Mike
Johnson had signaled that he thought that they had the
votes to get past this procedural hurdle, this test vote,

and after that they would start on the debate. Mike
Johnson indicates that he believes they will pass this bill
by eight point thirty in the morning. Hakim Jeffries, who
is the Democratic leader, his office is indicated that he
is going to speak for about forty five minutes to
an hour.

That's Fox's Chad Pergram reporting the President is pushing for
the spending bill to be passed by tomorrow. And we've
heard a lot about unclaimed funds in the state of
Ohio recently, what with money being taken from the fund
to help the Browns with their new stadium. Ohioans have
nearly five billion dollars being held by the state's Department
of Commerce. Six hundred million of that is slated to

if you are owed money from that fund. You can
search for payments you may be owed from things like
court settlements, closed bank accounts, and unreturned utility deposits by
