A man lost his life in Saint Mary's yesterday when
a building collapsed and trapped him in the rubble. The
building at three h five East Spring Street in Saint
Mary's suffered the collapse yesterday morning. One person escaped with
minor injuries. However, forty one year old Christopher R. Brown
of Saint Mary's was trapped in the rubble. Later, his
body was found by rescue crews and he was pronounced dead.

The building was said to be one of the oldest
in Saint Mary's. Previous business tenants had complained of sagging floors.
The two men who were involved in the incident yesterday
were there helping with the renovation. The demolition of the
building got underway after Brown's body was found yesterday afternoon.
Lima Police working reports of multiple shots at a home

in the fourteen hundred block of Hazel near Woodlawn this morning.
LPD isn't sure of the exact number of shots that
hit the house, or if they were fired from a
passing vehicle or somebody on foot. Luckily, nobody was struck
and there were no injuries. It's almost time for the
new Pool in Lima to open. An on site hiring
fair will be held tonight at the pool from six

thirty to seven thirty and tomorrow from ten to eleven am.
They'll be hiring lifeguards, aquatic coordinators, guest service representatives, and
workers for food and beverage. The public grand opening has
been scheduled for Saturday, August thirtieth. State Route eighty one
at Thayer Road east of Limo will close beginning Monday
for about three months for construction of a roundabout at

the intersection and for a bridge replacement between McClure Road
and Fisher Road over Patterson Ditch. State Route eighty one
will be closed from just west of Thayer Road to
Fisher Road. Thayer Road will be closed from just south
of State Route eighty one to Sandusky Road. The State
of Ohio's annual tax free holiday is underway. It runs
through August fourteenth. Almost all tangible personal property priced at

five hundred dollars or less as tax free. That includes computers, clothing,
home goods, and kitchenware. It does not include alcohol, baco
or cannabis products. Governor Mike Dwine wants the state of
Ohio to outlaw prop bets. We get more on this

In a statement, Governor Mike Dwine is calling on the
Ohio Casino Control Commission to ban prop bets. It comes
after a pair of Cleveland Guardians players recently came under
investigation and the Governor's previous concerns about prop betting after
threats were allegedly made against student athletes with the University
of Dayton. The governor is looking for support from the NFL, MLB, NBAWNBA, NHL,

and MLS to ensure the integrity of their leagues. He
says evidence that prop betting hurts athletics is reaching critical mass,
calling the benefits of such gambling not worth the harm.
The governor says, quote, the prop betting experiment in this

Meanwhile, federal agents arrested a Dayton man on charges related
to threatening to kill fourth District Congressman Jim Jordan. Sixty
year old Jeffrey Dorsey was arrested Tuesday night for allegedly
leaving a voicemail on Jordan's main office line threatening to
kill him if he voted to make cuts to medicaid.
He threatened to decapitate the Congressman and used terse and

vulgar language in his message. The Attorney General's Office confirms
that making interstate communications with a threat to injure as
a federal crime punishable by up to five years in prison.
Dorsey appeared in the U. S. District Court in Dayton yesterday.
The NTSB's hearing into a fatal midair crash between an
army helicopter and a commercial aircraft wraps up today. Fox's
