Speaker 1 (00:00):
Several troublesome intersections in Allen County have caught the attention
of a sheriff, Matt Treglia, and he says, you can
expect to see increased patrols at these locations.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
What we're seeing is with the crops being so tall,
the corn and everything at these intersections, people aren't slowing
down and taking enough time to actually pay attention when
they're at these cross intersections. So you know, we got
some Maclure and Reservoir, PV and Reservoir and Lafayette Roads
and County Line and Lafayette and Reservoir and State and
Defiance Trail. We're going to give them some extra attention.

(00:34):
And keep in mind eighty one is going to be
closed for roundabouts and culvert replacements. So I would only
guess that reservoir is going to be twice as busy
now because they're going to be using that instead of
eighty one. If you're taking those routes, make sure you're
stopping because you're probably going to encounter one of my officers.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
The closure the sheriff is alluding to begins today. State
Route eighty one east of Lima will be closed for
about ninety days to build roundabouts at the intersection of
eighty one Thayer Road. Also, a bridge will be replaced
between McClure Road and Fisher Road over Patterson Ditch. In
addition to State Route eighty one being closed from west

(01:09):
of Thayer Road to Fisher Road, there will also be
closed south of eighty one to Sandusky Road. There are
some progress with arrests from the brawl and downtown Cincinnati
that went viral and got the attention of the nation.
Police Chief Teresa Thiji gave an update.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
Through relentless work, CPD has now charged six individuals with
felonious assault and aggravated rioting. Our investigative teams have identified
six victims, five males, one female, each subjected to unimaginable

(01:49):
physical violence.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
The video of last weekend's incident spread quickly across social
media that showed a white man and woman being physically
attacked by several black people. Ford Motor Company CEO Jim
Farley is teasing the announcement of their new electric vehicle
strategy coming up a week from today. Farley says they
will have a quote Model T moment next Monday, referencing

(02:14):
the historic vehicle that launched the company one hundred and
twenty years ago. He says they will share information in
Kentucky on Monday, a week from today, about their plans
to design and build a breakthrough electric vehicle and a
platform in the US. Farley says it will bring a
new family of vehicles to the world that offer incredible technology, efficiency,

(02:36):
space and features. Meanwhile, Canadian leaders say they hope to
continue to find ways to work with the US on
a better trade relationship. We have more with Fox's Gernald Scott.

Speaker 4 (02:48):
Canada as of now, faces a thirty five percent tariff
as imposed by the Trump administration. Canada's US Trade Minister
Dominic LeBlanc told CBS Face the Nation he believes his
No nation can offer the US opportunities courtesy of their
version of the One Big Beautiful Bill.

Speaker 5 (03:06):
It's called the One Canadian Economy Act, which we think
will unlock up to five hundred billion dollars of investment
in Canada for things like pipelines forard infrastructure minds.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
LeBlanc said he's optimistic Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and
President Trump will talk further about trade in the coming days.
Grnald Scott, Fox News.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
There's a great comeback story going on here in the
Buckeye State as the number of bald eagles and Ohio
is soaring. Odn R director Mary Mertz says habitat protection
and the banning of insecticide DDT in the nineteen seventies
is helping the species grow. They conduct a survey every
five years, going up in helicopters to count the nests.

(03:49):
This year, they found nine hundred and sixty four active
nests in Ohio. That's up from seven hundred seven in
twenty twenty and just four in the nineteen seventies, and
a couple of state lawmakers are looking to make the
walleye Ohio's official state fish. Ohio Representatives Sean Brennan and
Djswerngin have again introduced a measure to make the designation.

(04:12):
They say having a state fish can serve as a
plus for marketing Ohio to anglers and visitors from other areas.
Experts say Lake Erie is home to over seventy two
million mature walleye. The fish can also be found in
the Ohio River, and they are stocked in many of
the state's reservoirs. For the latest news at the top
