(00:00):
Live from three months three experience infabulous downtown Las Vegas. It's the podcast
that celebrates our city. This isliving Lave. Yeah, we'll do it
live. Oh boy, this storytime? I think it's story time?
All right? Can I tell thestories? I don't understand how this thing

(00:21):
is supposed to start twenty minutes agoand then you're twenty minutes late and then
you just hit you just hit theintro and that's our indication. Yeah,
that's it. That's right. Thanksa lot. I like to keep people
on their toes, which I wouldhate if somebody did that to me,
so I apologize. Story Time wehad this, uh, this up and
coming artist played Allegias Stadium. Ithink she did a couple of nights last

(00:42):
weekend named it was Beyonce. Ohyeah, she's gonna be a big thing
one day. One of us myname's Mojo from ninety five five The Bull,
I sent Tony from ninety three oneThe Mountain. One of us had
a pair of tickets and because theycouldn't find someone to go with, decided
to stay home and not go.I got offered tickets. I would absolutely

(01:03):
I loved to see that show,to be honest, with you. And
when the offer for tickets came in, at first I was like, yeah,
I'm definitely going. But my wifehad left town with my daughter to
take my daughter back to college, and so they're both out of town,
and they would have been who Iwould have gone to a Beyonce show with.
And then I'm like, well, what am I gonna do? Go

(01:23):
by myself? Obviously not a fiftyone year old man sitting by himself at
a Beyonce show just doesn't. Imean, I would have enjoyed the music,
but I don't think you know,I would have looked. I would
have definitely stood out right. Iwould have looked like he probably would have
got hit up. It would havelooked and I mean this would all be
respect. It would have looked alittle creepery. All right, there's that.

(01:45):
I just think it's it's everybody's ownopinion and judgment, you know what
I'm saying. Hey, if ifI saw dude by himself chilling, I'd
be like, well, let mego talk to him my kids a little
closer, that's all. Now,if you looked creepery, not that you
look creepy in any way, justthe idea of a dude subman of a
certain age by himself at a Beyonceconcert, right, I mean no disrespect.

(02:07):
Who do I know who would go? And I couldn't think of like,
you know, that's just not aquestion like call a bro and that's
person we're gonna he and I arewere gonna roll up to a Beyonce shows.
It's not how it ended up goingdown. So when you brought that
up, I totally said, oh, I would have gone, And then
I thought about it. I waslike, no, I probably would have
turned him down. If you gaveme a pair of tickets, I would
have taken my daughter. But you'reright, two guys going to Beyonce.
Anybody can go to a show, whether you're male, female, tall,

(02:31):
short, short, whatever you're wearing. But the judgment of others is one
thing. But also let them judge. It doesn't matter if they judge.
I just would have felt I don'teven care about judgment. It's more me
like I felt like, like,do you ever have like a nervous moment
where you're like, hmm, thisisn't right. I'm sused to be here
or whatever. No, No,here's the stud wanted to avoid that when

(02:52):
I start doing the single Ladies dance, Tony's gonna feel some type of way
and it's probably not gonna be agood thing. But that's you think I'm
saying. When I start doing thesingle Ladies, like, you're gonna start
judging me, and then our relationshipis going to be different. I wouldn't
have I think that's what's beautiful abouta Beyonce show. Nobody's judging anybody,
and yet I would have felt like, oh this does Yeah. I just
would have felt out of place bymyself at that thing. I would have

(03:15):
with my wife. I would havebeen much more comfortable than we could have
sat at the show. Has Saddenenjoyed a Beyonce show? Well, I
just want to put this out there. What if the same situation arises in
a week, say when Ed Cheroncomes to town. If that same situation
arises and you're like, I'm notgoing to that, just remember I love
Ed Shearon. I might go toan Ed Sharon show by myself. Myself,

(03:37):
I might go. So what isI don't know? Okay, I
won't last question and we're not goingto figure it out on this podcast.
No, No, Well, whatis it about a Beyonce this different than
Ed Sharon as far as a manof a certain aid going by himself,
different audience, right, so wecare about what the others too. ICE's
point, well, I'm coming fromwhere Tony's coming from of what he was
thinking and feeling about going to asolo or so solo with Beyonce. But

(04:02):
if it's Ed Sheeron, the audienceis different. And so no, I
don't know, I just take itback. We should start this over.
Yeah, we'll just go go todo whatever you want, whether you're with
somebody or not. Well about Ithink you're right. And yet I did
have a moment, not just amoment it stopped me from going, the
fact that I was not going along. I just think you just didn't want

(04:25):
to go. I did want tosee that show. I thought about it
for weeks ahead of time. I'mlike, man, this is one of
those you circle it and you're like, this is one of those events that
happens in our city. And yeah, while people are gonna be talking about
it, and I totally love herand appreciate her music, I don't have
like it's not on shuffle, Likea Beyonce playlist is not on shuffle on

(04:45):
my heart radio app. You meanyou're not saying it to the left to
the left, but again, Imean, some of the best music that's
been made in my lifetime. Shemade it. And to see that at
Allegiant Stadium with my neighbors, rightwith our city, that all appealed to
me. But I just didn't thinkI was gonna go alone. And going
alone that's also like, really,I'm gonna drive to Allegiance Stadium, I'm
gonna park, I'm gonna deal withsecurity, I'm gonna get to my seat.

(05:09):
Everybody around me's gonna be dancing.I'm gonna stand there because I don't
dance. I nod my head alittle bit, right, Am I gonna
get dressed up for this? Now? I'm so low getting dressed up driving
to Allegiance Stadium and I'm driving backin the car by myself. I just
didn't feel like that's how that wassupposed to go, So I literally go.
I think I just spent five minutesin Tony's mind just like that.
It is probably your exact train ofthought the entire time you were thinking that

(05:32):
through. Am I weird No No, said the exact same thing, and
I quickly react and said I wouldhave gone. And then I went through
that exact same thought process you justhad, and I was like, you
know, I probably wouldn't have.Well, if I'm sorry I missed it,
I should have gone. If Iwould have got offered tickets, I
probably would have turned it down tojust because of what you said driving down
there park anging to that no,no, no, you want a girlfriend
would have gone, right, You'dhave called a friend and the friend would

(05:54):
have gone with you. I havebeen by myself. Okay. Jeopardy and
Wheel are on on the weekend, actually boundaries. There's extra Jeopardy on on
Saturday. It's like the early one, and then there's a late one.
It's like a celebrity Jeopardy for dummy. It's no fun if you already know
the answers. Well, there areother shows this weekend if you want to
catch a show. Labor Day islike the finish line for summer here.

(06:16):
It is for most places, butespecially in Vegas, when we just get
so much on slot of entertainment andtourism and all the things happening. And
I think this is a nice sendoff to summer. Even though for the
parents were already a month into theschool year. But but if being in
Las Vegas, though, do wereally have an end of summer? I
feel like summer is going to continueas as soon as we get to like
October November. Just let us haveit. Let us have it. Weather's

(06:39):
going to be very fall like thisweekend, fall ish fall a nice cool
ninety four. Yea, yeah, that's well, Joe, He's right.
I totally he's right. I meanI feel the same way about ninety two
on the on the thing, ninetytwo with the sun out on Saturday,
eighty nine on Saturday, supervising itdown. I get. I get you

(07:00):
do this too, do you notjust look at the highest but the lows
two? I'm like sixty six onMonday, I'm open in the house windows.
Yeah, it's actually kind of coolin the mornings for the past couple
of days, really pretty at ourhouse. I like that. I do
think it's the end summer, evenin a Vegas where obviously the weather is
summer like well into October and November. But it's if anybody deserves an end

(07:23):
of summer, it's us with theJuly and August that we have to put
up with now. You get abreak in the weather and an extra day
off, and yeah, the kidsare already in school, but I think
it's a pretty weekend. We getto start of football season. So U
and LV will play this Saturday. There's a full slate off of college games
this weekend to watch. And soyou're in that mode right now. You've

(07:44):
got college games on TV all day. The doors are open, the windows
are open, maybe you're grilling out. And you really didn't do a lot
of this in July and August. So I love what a weekend and that'll
that'll be the vibe. And ofcourse First Friday this Friday too. I
have not been. I know.Everyone tells me what a great time it
is. And you've been here longerthan I have. I know, I
have kids. It's hard when FirstFriday is on the first it sneaks up

(08:05):
on you right, right right,And so yeah, everybody crazy. First
Friday is actually on the first ofSeptember. But again, I mean,
you know, going to First Fridayin July and in August, I mean
you're putting up with it, rightto try to make that happen. You
go in September, you go inOctober. That's peak seasons, peak season,
right rates the golf courses go up. This is when everybody wants to
get out. Yeah, and ifyou do plan on going to first Friday,

(08:28):
plan ahead and get your parking aheadof time. That's what the city
of Las Vegas recommends, because itdoes get packed, and they do have
some parking garages down there that youcan take advantage of ice as you can
shuttle over from a couple of differentplaces. Yeah, for sure. Yeah,
but don't try to go park atyou know, Main Street or whatever
that. Yeah. Well, there'salso plenty of concert offerings. In fact,

(08:50):
I think we're all going to beat one over the weekend. I
know Friday night you got Weezer playingover Planet Hollywood, my favorite band.
However, I'm foregoing a trip tosee him so I can go see Jelly
Roll. Yeah. I love thatdude. He's cool man. He's such
a good guy and such a greatstory coming from you know, being an
inmate to overcoming that and now helpingyou know, turn people's lives around who

(09:13):
are in jail now through music.I just I love the story. Such
a good dude, and he hasa house in Henderson. Anybody who's good
with Henderson has given me. SorryTony Henderson. Henderson's fine, It's me
Henderson is fine exactly. Well, fine, that's fine, Henson Mayor here
you go Henderson, That's fine, that's fine. So that's going on.

(09:37):
Of course, his wife is fromhere, so we had him on Fremont
Street back in October, just soliddude, Like he's such a good He's
living like this big barbecue for somepeople. I know Ice and I got
invited to that. So it's kindof a cool thing that he doesn't like
to do meet and greets because hefeels it very impersonable because are his words.
So he likes to do a wholelike hour long barbecue hangings shows.

(09:58):
So I think that's kind of neat. So we're doing that eaton Zay,
yeah kind of. I never gotto do that, but yes, that's
the same idea I heard. Thoseare great. I love that idea.
I don't know if you're gonna havea similar experience you're going to see over
at the Pearl Theater at the PalmsCounting Crows, right, I'm a Counting
Crows fan. I have been froman early time, ninety four right when
they came out. Yeah, I'ma big fan of that band, so

(10:22):
I'm looking forward to seeing them.It would be the first time in a
while that I've seen them where theyplaying Pearl Theater. The Pearl. Okay,
I have yet to see a showthat I need to. Of course,
you saw Black Crows. You sawthe Other Crows. That wasn't at
the Yeah, No, yeah, wasn't. Weren't you at Santa Drama,
No I wasn't. She got sick. I got sick, So no I
have not. But you went tosee the Black Rows. But the Black
Crows wasn't at the Pearl, itwas pearls Well, maybe I just had

(10:48):
an extra good time that night timeat that show. Luke Brian's back in
town playing his shows over at theResorts World, So there's plenty of offerings
if you so choose to go seesome live music and then Sunday over at
the not the Pearl, but atthe Palms at the soak Pool, we're
throwing a party with ninety five fivethe Bull and an artist named George Burge.
In fact, if you go toour website, you have a chance
to win a cabana for you anda guest, which is a lot of

(11:11):
fun. The weather should be perfectfor that five bull dot com. If
you want to enter to win thatthat's a good idea. Anything else are
you doing anything special besides football andaccounting? Crows? It's a week gun,
right, that is a weekend, and then we have Monday to chill.
I just want to put this outhere because he's been stuck in my
head all day. Wayne Newton.I think we should celebrate mister Las Vegas

(11:35):
as he did extend his residency herein Las Vegas into twenty twenty four.
He's been performing ever since he startedat the Flamingo back in nineteen sixty three,
and he is still alive and kicking. And if you guys want,
I can Serenadi right now. No, no, please, if you're going
to sing some we thought that wehave to pay like royalties, don't we
If we didn't, that's funny thatwe use royalty and I use royalty in

(11:58):
yes, you'll be I don't knowif you noticed, Tony. Language in
vocabulary is my strength. Congratulations outThese are passed Manilo for the most amount
of shows. Wasn't Does Manilo havethe record? He might now now that
he's extending I don't know let's findthat out. Well, that's a good

(12:18):
question. We're talking about Wayne rightnow. Well, now you have a
homework assignment. And unless you're listeningright now and you want to jump in
and just tell us with the freeiHeart radio app, that little microphone you
see on the screen, it's calledtalkback. You're sending that, we get
it right here in the studio andwe'll stop what we're doing and respond to
your your voice. So please sendthose in anything you want to talk about,
anything you're looking forward to, LaborDay highlights of the summer of twenty

(12:41):
twenty three. Reason why the Raidersare going to be better than the Browns
or the Texans for that matter.I don't think they're going to be better
than the Browns, but the Texansprobably. It's fair. The Raiders actually
should be better than a lot ofthe analysts had them at like five six
wins for the season. I thinkthey'll be better than that. I mean,
look out for the Raiders. Well, since we have a Super Bowl
coming here this year, and tryto take your bias away as well,

(13:05):
I which won't be hard for thisquestion, who do you think is going
to make it to the Super Bowlthis year. It's too early to tell.
The teams that were in it lastyear were pretty great and I don't
see them falling off at all.So I love Philadelphia to make it back.
Yeah, we'll see from the AFC. Were you and I are supposed
to make a wager about something?I remember this last week and yeah,

(13:26):
we were going to have a wagerabout something. It was a Browns Texans
waver wager and it was who's goingto have more wins this year? And
you just think the Texans are goingto have more wins. They had a
good off season. Yeah, that'scool. With how many we had,
like four top ten picks or topfifteen picks. I believe in the draft
because we kept trading up picks,so potentially, I don't know. We'll

(13:48):
see you. So how much moneyis on the table whatever you name a
price, because I think I'm prettyconfident in this bet. What do you
think I should I should I pushmy chips in or be sparing with it?
I think you should do what JamesHolt Tower would do from Jeopardy and
go all in. What is allinto you? Most well, not much,
not as much as yours, Ipromise you. I've seen you play

(14:09):
poker. I've heard about you playingpoker. He posted a pick one time
at your stack of chips, andI said, Nope, never playing with
that guy. But I will makethis wage. You're about one hundred bucks.
No, we're not going to betone hundred dollars on the podcast.
Okay, all right, if youwant to, If you want to give
me one hundred dollars, at theend of this, I'll make one hundred
bucks. All right. Okay,So this is an official beta who I
wasn't expecting you to say a hundredall right? This is on who has

(14:33):
the most wins this season. Ifit's a time, that's my next question.
Push then if it's a push.If it's a push, neither one
of us. This is all aboutPride, Team Pride, which we've both
been loyal to, teams that havedrudged through the mud for years. So
yeah, I think this will befun to see how it plays out.
And if it's a tie, noharm, no foul, total wins end
of the season, hundred bucks.Brown's Texas texts, all right, this

(14:56):
should be interesting and if the Lionshappen to make it, I get the
pot. I think the list morethan both. Just say it. It's
possible. Anything's possible with the NFLright any given Sunday. So please take
your your your votes now, andyour favorite clients part isn't a part of
this bet, Let's just be clear. Yeah no, we're talking Texans and
the Browns. So we appreciate you. Make sure you follow us on social
