Speaker 1 (00:07):
Yes, man, And so the podcast what Donway episode, I
think thirteen.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Growing every week? Absolutely? Oh and then speaking of weeks,
what a great week.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
We had in our favorite city and upstate New York
Port Charles Baby so good. Yeah, lots to get to today.
On the thirteenth episode, I like thirteen. I think thirteen
is I think it's a lucky number. I'm going against
the grain there, right, Yeah, absolutely, what I mean we
(00:47):
were this week was just umly. It was one of
the scenes as we broadcast live by the Way from
the Metro Court Pool. Man, there's a lot of action
going on today at the pool. I see Curtis, I
see Stella together, I see Drew, I see Marty over there.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
Curtis and George is looking at each other kissing make up.
I don't think go over while well do I missed
when they were best friends. Geo's over here. It's a
full day at the Metro Court Pool. Yeah, I know,
I know. Curtis. Give me the stink eye.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
Yeah, got a beagle out there, cute Doug. Think Emma
was yelling for Calderr outback, which I like.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
Great name.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
There's just a lot of action going on here, and
I can't wait to break it down. And how we
do it typically is if you're just listening for the
first time, or if you are a frequent downloaded thank
you by the way. I appreciate you. And you know
I started watching this out with my mom when I
was young. I go back to Sean Donnelly days. I
was just a little pupster hanging in the ass to
(01:51):
my mom. But I go back to the Sean Donnelly
scorpio days.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
Anna Duke.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
I've had the pleasure of meeting Anna and Duke together
when they did a tour years ago.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
They were great.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Duke I'm friends with on Instagram. It has no idea
who I am. It just sounds good, doesn't it with
im Buchanan and we have exchanged messages over the years.
So I am a lifer and I am a cheerleader,
and I break this podcast out into the good bad
in between stuff.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
I don't have a lot of bad. This week.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
I could tell you this was a week where I
was literally, I don't know about you, guys, I was
literally engaged in almost all of the scenes, and that's
rare for me. Full disclosure. Typically, you know, there are
certain scenes if it's Kai and Treed. I'm like, you
know whatever or other you know usual scenes. There's certain
systems like Marty's scenes say he should not be that
all but invested in Now. I loving Marty and he
(02:45):
had a good he had a good week this week.
So yeah, it's it's pretty easy stuff. Man and Soap
the podcast brought to you by Volanino's Jim. Right now,
you can get thirty percent off of membership over at Volanino.
Let's go hit that punching bag. You might even see
mister Corinthos might have a sunny sighting at Volninos.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
Thank you to them.
Speaker 1 (03:11):
It's a great place to go work out, and they
do like yoga and all this kind of zens spiritual stuff.
If that's what you're into, then yeah, good stuff. It
brought me a sugar free red Bull today here at
the Metro Court.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
Thank you always. Their hospitality is amazing. What a week.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
I can see why Drew looks shell shocked right now. Wow,
wedding gone wrong. I mean talk about a disaster. I
mean we left last week not knowing if Willa was
going to actually go through with it, and there was
a part of me as we started the week thought
man she is going to go through with it, but
(03:56):
I can just feel it, that look in her eye.
Her acting has just been phenomenal. She needs a break
because she has been on emotional overload, that actress. But
she blatantly asked the question Drew, did you sleep with
my mother? And boom that ended that. Yeah, that ended
(04:17):
that quickly. Yeah, it was just a disaster. I felt
Willow's pain. Those were some intense scenes. She's clearly I mean,
these were good scenes. She's clearly gone off the deep end.
She may have to go to Shadybrook real soon. I mean,
it's just like, it ain't good.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
I feel for her. She's unraveling. She wants to see
her kids.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
You know, she went against Rick's advice to not you know,
just to lay low, show that you can abide by
the judge's orders.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
She didn't.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
She decided to take matters into her own hands, and
lately that's been bad and it really was ad. But
I do want to start with the wedding. The wedding,
which we knew it was just a complete disaster. I'm
I'm personally glad it did not happen, but I just
love all the characters in between watching the wedding and
(05:16):
all of the drama. I loved watching Rick and Ava
and the expressions and Elizabeth when they were going to
exchange their vows, which we thought they were gonna get married.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Rick was gazing over at Elizabeth. Ava caught it.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
And somehow Rick ended up at Elizabeth after the wedding.
Uh so, lots of good stuff. I'm gonna get to
that scene at the Quartermain House, and I have a
I have a theory. I'm gonna run by you.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
I have a theory. I have a theory.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
I do sugar free red bulls kick in, but I do,
and I want you to follow with me on it,
follow me on it in just a little bit. But
the fallout from the wedding was great. I love the
scenes this week. Okay, Drew and Marty going into the
quarter Main House.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
Oh my god, that.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
Was pure gold, just pure gold. Watching Cody watching Tracy
taking it on and just loving it right loving it.
(06:32):
I mean that was really good stuff. How they were
kind of taunting him. I love Cody's line, I always
knew she'd.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
Leave your ass. It was a great line. Great line.
I love Yuri coming into the muscle.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
Grabbing Martin's tie, and then they kind of had a
bonding moment afterwards talking about Monica uh, which is a
little unexpected and I like, and I have a theory
as to why, oh really good.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
Willow did a great job.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
I'm telling you, I am telling you tremendous job. I
do kind of feel for her last week. I know,
I said, Okay, it's like, it's nice to see your struggle,
but man, I to see a person on the verge
of a nervous breakdown, I don't root for that. I
thought Kate I mccolling uh or McMullan did a great
job acting this week.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
I hope that she takes a long away to vacation.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
She may have gotten herself into the Emmy conversation with
this storyline.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
It was really really good.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
The scenes at the quarter of Ayman show were just
so good. And again, Tracy Marty, let's go, let's make
it happen. Writers, if you're listening, and you should be,
find a way to make it work. Juff, you also
listen to the show, I do. I am a little
critical of the writing sometimes, but I'm also I'll give
(07:49):
them credit where credits do it.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
I thought they wrote bangers for this week.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
I mean there was really there was really good stuff,
Like I honestly did not have a lot of bad.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
I'm looking here at my notes.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
And I'll get to the one bad scene I thought
the weakest scene of the week. I'll get to that
in a second. But yeah, so much good stuff. So
we have the wedding drama. Now let's just shift over.
We'll return to it because I want to talk about
Michael now, you know what, I'm gonna stay on it.
(08:21):
This new Michael handles Willow very well. He's very empathetic.
He's a good crier. By the way, the other guy
who played it was just just kind of just a mannequin,
didn't have nearly the range of this new Michael. Rory
Gibson this phenomenal. He handles Willow with empathy. He wants
to see the old Willow. You know, he loves the
(08:41):
old will He even told Carl has soa a glimpse
of the old Willow before I told her she couldn't
see the kids, and she snapped right back.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
Yeah. But he handles her well.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
He's a good crier, and he it's just his body
language is acting's just so far superior. It's just such
a great It's the greatest recast in General Hospital history.
He is a character I think that will be around
twenty years from now, which sometimes talk about characters everything
you're gonna be around in years from now. He is
definitely a character I see twenty years from now still
being on the show and with a significant role. But
(09:09):
I thought he did a tremendous job this week, as
hard as it was for him to, you know, keep
Willow away from the kids. You know, he and Carly
had great scenes this week. This new Michael has just
been tremendous. And again I just like his the way
he's very stern with Willow. But yeah, very fair, right,
(09:29):
he doesn't he he didn't glow when she came to
him and said the marriage didn't end. I mean he
is look in his eyes. He was really concerned, I
mean very concerned. And I love that about this Michael.
And she just freaked freaked the f out man, like, uh,
(09:49):
it didn't work. It didn't work.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
Now, hy maybe less red bull.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
I don't know, feeling good today, but I felt her desperation.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
Even Carly had that look at her a little.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
You know, we felt like we had that, you know,
So the wedding, the wedding gone wrong.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
And you sleep with my mother.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
And I thought Nina and Curtis and Porsia, that was
a really good conversation right over here took place. I
think Nina kind of understands it why Curtis had to
do what he had to do. And Curtis, I don't think,
meant any ill will towards Nina losing her relationship with Willow.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
You know, Willow made a verything they're gonna have to
rebuild again.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
I don't know, we're aalisel Will come into play there,
and I'm gonna get into Elisel too, because she had
another great couple of scenes this week. But I don't
know what's gonna happen there, you know. I think and
Porsche again, I said it last that this is the Porsche,
(11:04):
the unblackmailed Porscha that I really like, and I hope
that this version of her is back and I like
her taking control of the situation. So I thought that
was really good. That was really good stuff. And we'll
see how she continues to how her character continues to evolve,
But I like it going in the right direction for sure.
(11:25):
I thought that the scenes with I thought Curtis and
Drew were good scenes. I mean we had a lot
of Drew this week, and that blues sports jacket of his.
He was everywhere, right everywhere, quartermains, Lizza, metro Cord right
over here. I just he's right there, She's getting up
right now. It's a nice jacket. But yeah, yeah, I
(11:49):
mean strong scenes him and Curtis. But like Drew said,
he's playing a long game. So there's nothing that Drew
says that I'm fully convinced it's the truth, right, I
don't think, But yes, it was a good week Liesel,
(12:14):
Liesel and Jason touching scene. I said it last week
and I'm not gluting, and I was right that Jason
and Lisel we're going to have a conversation very soon.
I didn't realize it was gonna be this quickly, but
I'm glad it did, because when you have takes like that,
you gotta kind of be right.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
That's why I'm worried about my next theory. But I'm
gonna go for broke with it.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
But I loved Lisel her impression if Drew getting dumped
at the altar while well, she's downing like a triple
schnops or whatever she was drinking.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
It was great. Liso's so good, her expressions are greater, smirks.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
Were great, great humor. It's so good to have her back.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
Jason. Another solid week.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
I mean, can I just say, I mean Jason had
a very just another like a a plus week like yeah,
absolutely golf clap yeah, where he just came in and
is acting with his eyes the way he was, the
way Liesel was complimenting him, and he walked her up,
(13:18):
he was gonna help her up, and he finds the phone.
Now he's doing the spider spider search or whatever.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
Fred is that the five poppies?
Speaker 1 (13:27):
And this is getting so good. Maybe last week, I
still don't know how.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
Here's what.
Speaker 1 (13:33):
I don't know how. I don't know how they're gonna
handle her death. I don't know how she died in
Liesel's arms. So writers are gonna have to really go
good on this one because I don't think.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
Liesl's in on her.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
I thought maybe she was last week, kind of talked
about it, but no, I don't think so. And if
she is, well, she's doing a great job of acting.
But I thought her seeing what Jason was one of
the better scenes.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
This week. Really do.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
I'll just get the bad out of the way. I
thought the Lucas scene with Sonny again.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
Like what are you doing? Luca? Like what are you doing?
Speaker 1 (14:05):
He Sonny, mister Corinthus is a mobster. You are a
chihuahua going up against a pit freaking bull, prime rottweiler,
prime apex predator.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
And he's just whining again.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
It's like bad, like it's Kennet Mark fIF twenty four hours?
Is your daughter now?
Speaker 2 (14:27):
Like shut up? Like zip it?
Speaker 1 (14:34):
Threatening again. I love Sonny just handling him like he's
been there before. Do what you gotta do, Lucas, which
will not end well.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
So I thought that was maybe the probably the.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
Talk about the bad that was probably the worst scene
of the week. Not not good for Lucas. Not good
for Lucas. How about that phone call case? So now
let's let's let's just shift over here. Now. I have
a theory. I want to get to this theory. And
I've talked about it before. And if I think I
said last week, here's the deal, they have not acknowledged
(15:11):
Leslie Charleston's death yet it's been about eighteen months to
twenty I don't it's almost we're closing it on two
years of Monica's past, Leslie Charleston. Are they keeping her
alive because they're going to recast hear me out eric
A Sleezach from What One Life to Live on, My Children?
Speaker 2 (15:27):
Whatever.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
So she's from She's coming into town, probably the same
age as Leslie Charleston, age appropriate. She's a veteran. If
anybody could handle that role, it would be her. We
need to make sure. The writers need to make sure
that they recast her as Monica. No one gives a
crap about her coming in for a rinky dink four
week roll. Big deal, you wanted to stick make her
(15:50):
Monica bring it back.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
I'm not gonna harp on it too much because I
talked about last week.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
I was pretty animated about it, animated about it now
because I just wanted to see it happen. She might
be on the road to recovery. Year he was talking
about her, the Monica talk, the chatter why maybe maybe
maybe eric A Slezak who's been is going to be
Monica Quartermain. I'm not gonna say that's gonna happen because
(16:16):
I just never know what the writers. But that's my
theory on as to why they have not acknowledged her death.
There's been no tribute episodes, nothing yet, a memoriam episode
for her.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
Nothing right.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
They had a chance to do it when they and
maybe that was their way of doing it when they
did the they kind of did the the memorial to her,
her wing or whatever at the hospital last year. She
couldn't make it because she was quote unquote sick. Maybe
that was their way. I don't know. They have not
acknowledged Leslie's death. Monica is still alive. That's my theory.
(16:50):
Run with it or laugh at me.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
It's up to you.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
I'd like to think that they're gonna recast Ericles as
Monica Quartermain. I think it'd be perfect. I think the
soap would get a big boost. We've gotten rid of
the fat lately, a lot of bad fat.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
Right. We trimmed it off.
Speaker 1 (17:03):
We trimmed off Lucky, worst worst comeback ever, worst to
come back ever. Right, we trimmed off Lucky. We brought
back Britt that's good, brought back Lezel that's good. Got
rid of Decks not so good, got rid of Aalentin
not so good. You're shaving off the money on the budget.
(17:27):
Get Erica Sleezac back lock it in ratings will go
soaring through the roof.
Speaker 2 (17:35):
Okay, I know that was more of a rant than
a theory, but.
Speaker 1 (17:37):
Yeah, Cody and Molly, hmmm, Christina kind of in Molly's here.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
Don't be with him. He's a bad guy, he's a jerk.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
Don't rub Suddan lotion screening on him. He's just wants
your hands on it. You know, he wants your hands
on him.
Speaker 2 (17:54):
Molly bit the bit on that one.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
I think Cody is if Cody's a gentleman, Okay, he's
careless Cody. I've had a few nights with him over
at the Brown Dog. I know at first him, but
he's confided. I mean, he's a good guy. He's not
looking for some cheap hands on his back. And I
think Molly is falling in love with Cody, whether she
(18:17):
likes it or not.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
Take care of that black mole on your back? What
black mole?
Speaker 1 (18:24):
The one that's a regular and kind of changing colors
and he freaked out.
Speaker 2 (18:29):
I don't know if she's doing it a bezz with
or not, but that was a really good scene.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
One of my favorite scenes during this past week.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
I don't know if you guys looked at it like
I did.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
I loved Molly's scribbling, her notes of the perfect partner
and maybe she had villain and then she had a hero,
and then she was scribbling, and we were able to
see a little bit of her nice handwriting. By the way,
I wish I could write my mother, by the way,
my mom had the best pemon ship.
Speaker 2 (18:56):
My mom had the best penmanship. I mean, it was
so good.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
She writes very well, and her notes were great. It
gave us an insight as to who she really is.
And she's very much an introvert, but she is definitely
like an intellectual. She reads books, taking notes. I mean,
how many people do you know that do that? Definitely overachiever,
(19:23):
which makes her perfect with the ultimate under rechiever Cody.
Come on, I'm starting to know that the ava Ricks
start to spend a lot of time with Elizabeth, but
I might lead it into the arms of Cody, and
then Cody and Molly are gonna be Dunski. Then Christina's
(19:44):
gonna have more explaining to because she's a shit show.
She's a disaster. Speaking of Rick and Elizabeth taking care
of Willow, great scenes, that's the Rick.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
I like that was a good side to He was very.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
Concerned and I don't know if he's putting on the
trum because he wants Elizabeth back ultimately, which they might be.
But yeah, I thought that was just a good scene.
I like that version of Rick. I thought that was
just a really really good scene. I like Sonny and
(20:27):
his scene with Alexis. I thought that was really good.
This week, she's trying to like give him a hard
time over kidnapping Marco, and her assistant Suzanne is charming
him with homemade carrot cake and double espressos. Let's goss,
what did the girls says? Suzanne goes out, the carrot
(20:48):
cake is very sweet, and Sonny goes like me, oh really,
that's the good stuff right there. See I that's when
General Hospital is in the pocket. They're in the pocket,
and and the writers really did a h I thought
the writers did a tremendous job britt at the Five Poppies.
So let's get this in between stuff in between, guys,
(21:10):
The Five Poppies is about to take on a story
of its own. Oh my god, we got Johns and
Vaughn going as the newlyweds. We've got Jason booking a
room potentially at the five. The Five Poppies is about
to be the forefront. Oh, and it's gonna be so good.
I don't know Anna and Jason are gonna go on
another adventure or not.
Speaker 2 (21:30):
I wish they would. I think it'd be great.
Speaker 1 (21:32):
But I could see Jason being there alone, Jason, Jos, Vaughn, Britt.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
This is going to be epic.
Speaker 1 (21:39):
I hope they don't rush it because I love these scenes.
I love the Joson Vaughn scenes. I want more WSB.
Speaker 2 (21:45):
I want more Brennan. These are things I want. What
about you?
Speaker 1 (21:52):
Don't you like Brennan kind of running the show at
the WSB? I mean really good stuff. Are Jos and
Vaughan really gonna fall in love?
Speaker 2 (22:11):
I think so.
Speaker 1 (22:12):
I think there's a good chance, you know, another good scene.
I like Anna and Geo and Emma and outback the Beagle.
Speaker 2 (22:25):
It's like it is.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
It's a funnier, lighter side to Anna right having like
the kids in the house with the dog, her saying
we need to make a schedule. We're gonna write it
with a pen and the very buttoned up Anna. I
thought that was really really good. Geo, Dante, what do
(22:49):
you think of that scene. Is Geo lightening up a
little bit? You know?
Speaker 2 (22:58):
I feel for Dante. It's not his fault. He really
did nothing wrong.
Speaker 1 (23:02):
We had less less of Lulu this week, which is
always a good thing, right. I thought her and brook
Lynn had a very mellow It could have got ugly,
but it was a good conversation.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
It was restrained, you know.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
I thought I thought it could have went sideways, but
it didn't. There are some good quotes this week. Alexis
to Christina, I thought or they were talking about Dru
(23:48):
and Nina. Alexis to Christina, I thought they hated each other. Christina, well,
sometimes that's a kink. Alexis goes, I'm gonna stop you
right there. Oh, really good line writers, you crush that. Uh.
(24:12):
I liked what could possibly be worse than the people
you tried to kill, knowing that you tried to kill
the Michael talking to Christina about the situation with freaking Amy,
that was really good.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
I love the willow line.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
I believed you when I said I believed you when
you said I was the only woman you wanted. Drew,
you were a willow. You were willow goes along with
my mother, great scene. Another great quote. H Cody with
(24:47):
Mollie Rawhide and sat in another Russian classic.
Speaker 2 (24:52):
After fighting her romance novel Hidden Between War and Peace.
Speaker 1 (24:56):
Mollie is just a what were those fancy what those
novels back in the eighties, Harlequins, Harlequin's model.
Speaker 2 (25:06):
I remember those novels. Molly just wants love, you know,
Martin to Lucy.
Speaker 1 (25:19):
After Drew, after Willow's takedown of Drew with the other
I heos, well, that was worth the price of admission.
Uh uh, just really good scenes Michael and Drew. Those
scenes were good. Drew looking for a favor. And now listen,
I do believe that Drew wants what's best for you know,
(25:43):
Willow and the kids. But I'm just getting sick of going.
I just want Willow to have your kids. Just we
get it. We get it, and we get brit at
the Five Poppies. You know. One of the things, guys
that I missed, and it was the strength of hers.
(26:03):
Britt had great sense humor, right, she had she had flaws. Okay,
we all do still love her, still rooting for and
I love when she was talking to that guy what
is his name, Pascal or whatever?
Speaker 2 (26:17):
She was the crash.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
I think you're referring to what happened what too two
years ago? And the donkeys survived and Pascal goes, yeah,
but he limped for the rest of his life. Britt goes, well,
you shouldn't have been camped out in the middle of
the road.
Speaker 2 (26:32):
That's the classic brit.
Speaker 1 (26:36):
It's so good to have her back, and there's it's
and I like that they're thrusting her back.
Speaker 2 (26:41):
Quickly, by the way, right like giving her, giving her
a full workload. And I thought.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
The ending of this past week, my gosh, I mean
that was with him booking his room, him booking his room,
and then hearing Brid's voice, give me the keys in
(27:12):
my car. Jason knows that voice.
Speaker 2 (27:18):
Oh, just good stuff. I think we summed it up.
Did we miss anything wrong.
