Speaker 1 (00:06):
Yes, Man and Soap the Podcast Oh episode, I think
we're on fifteen. Oh my gosh, guys, so much good
stuff to get to. I am so excited as we

(00:30):
talk about our favorite city in upstate New York Port,
Charles Baby, and what a tremendous week we had. Appreciate
you tuning in Man and Soap the Podcasts Facebook, Instagram.
We are growing every week thanks to you, and I

(00:54):
am super excited. You know. I took some notes down
this week and it's so funny. I was sitting there
and I'm thinking to myself, all right, this is kind
of a slow, slow week, right, Like we're broadcasting live
from the Metro Court today. Decide to give the Metro
Court pool a break, get a little sun burn out there.

(01:15):
But we love being in the Metro. I see Carly
over there right now, hanging out with Lisel. You guys, yes, yeah,
come on whenever you get time. Carly and Lisel look
like they're kind of having a heated exchange. And there's Anna.
Oh my god, Brennan's there right now. Oh if you

(01:37):
could just the view is amazing. Jack, what's up? Oh?
I like Jack? You and I get on very well.
I've been watching The General Hospital my whole life. Guys,
I've been watching it since I was a little paint
in the ass with my mom. I go back to

(01:59):
be in Duke days. I go back. I think Alcazar
is the greatest villain of all time. I go back
to when the Cassadines ran the roost. I go back
and may he rest in peace. Man is up the
podcast in honor of the great Tristian Rogers Robert Scorpio,
who passed away late last week. We saw him with Jason,

(02:21):
and yeah, you could tell he was not doing well.
But from what I read though, he showed up and
him and Jason, and yeah, Steve Burton wrote a really
nice memorial for him, and yeah it was tragedy and
we lose the great Robert Scorpio. Rip, as my friend
would say, or rest in peace might be the nicer

(02:42):
way of saying it. Rip's kind of cool though, like, hey,
rip Scorpio, rip, right, It's all meant in a good way.
Love Robert Scorpios. So, yeah, I've been watching this was
a little little pain in the ass with my mom.
So I go way back watching it for like says
little kids, like I've been watching for like forty years,
so I'd like to think. I mean, people go like, well,
why do you have a podcast? Well, because I've been
watching it for forty years, you know, learned a thing

(03:06):
or two. I've learned what not to do. I'm an idiot,
of course, but I like to think I'm I know
the soap really well, very invested in it, and I
am excited. And the way we break the podcast, yeah,
it's super easy, guys. It's just the good the bad
name between. That's it. We don't want to break them
down episodically not my thing. Break them down a short
period of time kind of cover a lot. And this

(03:27):
week was so good. I mean, oh my god, so good.
Did a certain character did he become creepy this past week?
Who am I talking about? I'll let you know shortly.
There is another popular character rumored to come back. Who's that.
I'll let you know in a little bit. A lot
of good stuff to get to love is in the air.
There's dogs in Port Charles, we got spies in Croatia.

(03:53):
I am so pumped up. And That's where I'm gonna
leave to that. I love the five poppy scenes I am.
I love when General Hospital does this. We don't get
it like nearly enough. But when we do get them,
there are great moments where all these characters converge in
one spot and there's great reveals and great drama and
Britt and Jason who saw each other at the end
of the week. And I want to get into that
because I thought the week was pretty good. It was like, yeah,

(04:15):
it was a men week right leaning up until Friday.
And guys, we all know we watched the soap. We
know Fridays are the payoff. You watch for Fridays for
the payoff. Sometimes you get those weeks where every episode
is a banger, right, They're like all Fridays. No, this week,
We're Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
Then Friday Boom show, hay O Tani against the Yankees
Yard center Field, Boom Boom.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
Dingers that sucked, Dingers, Dingers, Dingers, Friday all home runs.
Oh my god, the payoff on Friday. This is why
we watching hob because of a Friday, the payoff. We'll
get into that. It's around the Five Poppies. I love
Joson Vaughn and the Five Poppies. I love their chemistry.
I love they didn't stretch it out too long. I
like the Joss saw Britt. I love that. I like

(05:07):
the my favorite one I probably well. I had a
couple of favorite scenes and got some good quotes. We'll
get to as well, but one of my favorite scenes
this week. And I've if you've listened to the podcast
the last couple of weeks and you're new to it,
thank you. I know we got some new listeners. Thank you.
I like the Joss flashback with Vaughan. They're totally falling
in love. They're great. Guy is totally shredded. I mean

(05:31):
totally shredded. The Five Poppies was just real good stuff,
the Newlyweds, the Nashes. I like britt sense of humor.
She's who who's not hers? Who? Her handler? Pascal? Oh,
she was great. And the thing I love about Britt,

(05:51):
I mean, and she's got just this great sense of humor,
right like I'm not Taylor Swift, hello, I mean Croatia
when she wanted to go out, that's just as Britt comment.
Really really good stuff at the Five Poppies. And we'll
get into that in just a little bit. But I
am loving it. I'm loving the dog with Anna. I'm

(06:11):
loving out back the dog. I think it's nice. As
I said last week, it's like a lighter side to Anna.
We don't see often so iced tea here at the
Metro Court top notch. You guys. I gotta, I gotta,
I gotta definitely give you guys your ice, your iced

(06:33):
tea cred because it is like it's like it's dope
on a rope here like it is. It is second.
It is second to none for sure. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
absolutely you get that golf that absolutely Thank you guys
for the iced tea. Appreciate that. So uh yeah, there's
so much good stuff. I'm looking through my notes and

(06:54):
I generally so I kind of do a lot of
prep before so I can bring you the best podcast possibly,
so much good stuff Light Lulu week. Yes, thank the Lord, Lulu.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
Lulu came back to your coma Lise, always angry, always scowling,
love I love.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Okay, some good stuff this week, Liesel, Let's go. How
great is Liesel at the pool with Rocco and the
dog out back? Who is this adorable creature? Horrible? Who
is this adorable creature? Maybe that's better, Lisel, but she's
talking about out back? Great, great, just great stuff there

(07:45):
from Liesel again. I love Lisel looking for the reference
from Anna to Carly and tell her I'm reformed. I
thought that was a great scene. Liesel is just she
grows on you. If you don't like Lisa, Oh God,
what's wrong with you? Give me a break? Oh she's

(08:07):
so good. Her scenes are electric. Shocked. Another intense week
with Willow and Drew and the intensity and a depressing
I mean, I feel the pain there, you know, Willow,
I love it. She slapped lucas him and his mister

(08:28):
Judgy mcjudgerson. He deserved that slap. Would advice slapping your
co workers and someone who might be a superior to you.
But you know what, he is becoming more annoying by
the week, I mean just annoying.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
How about Cody and James, how about those scenes? How
good are they together? Cody's so lovable. Gotta love Cody.
He's my guy. We go to the Brown Dog together
and I've talked to him a little bit about it,
and you know, he was conflicted about Ava and then
Tracy and he had that conversation and he told me

(09:16):
that hit him hard. He blew off Ava for dinner
because Cod Tracy reminded him how good of a guy
he is, and there's a good guy in there, and
that's why you gotta love Cody, which baffles me why
they have designated him for recurring role, which is ridiculous.
As my friends will say, that's ridic I mean it
really is. He's so good, he's so complex. Yeah, let's

(09:39):
just take the most complex, likable stud by the way,
character with a good heart. Let's just make him recurring.
But let's make sure we get a heavy dose of
Kai and Trina. Yeah yeah, okay, yeah, let's make sure
we do that. Come on, come on, come on, guys,
come on, writers, get your shit together. But however, as

(10:03):
hard as I can be on the writers, they had
a very good week. I like that Joss saw Britt
at the Five Poppies. I thought that was really really good.
Joss has become a pretty good little spy in a
very short period of time. So we do good bad

(10:26):
in between. Here's some in between stuff. If you're wondering
where Maxie is, Kirsten storms apparently moving to Tennessee and
she will not return till November. So that's why if
you've been wondering where she is, so she is. She'll
be back in November, and she's kind of a staple, right,
So if you listen I call, I have certain characters

(10:48):
that are on the show. They're like warm blankets, you know,
on a fall day, it's just comfortable. Those comfortable blankets.
Maxie's comfortable blanket, Felicia, Anna, Lucy Coe, Scottie Baldwin, the
late Great Robert Scorpio. Those are warm blankets. Those are
our go to those are our feel good characters. So

(11:10):
when I say warm blankets, that's what that reference means.
Maxi has definitely earned warm blanket status. So she'll be
back in November. I thought there was a really good
scene this week. I thought, after Willow slapped Lucas Hr
and Elizabeth in the stairwell, that was a very good scene.

(11:33):
Liz looked great. I thought, kind of like I was
during that. You guys watch that scene and go, oh
my gosh. She looked like she turned back the clock
a little bit, like she still looks great. But she
looked at her hair. I think her hair's darkened a
little bit, and it she looked great. Loveless Liz, loveless Liz.
We need to find Liz somebody right. Great scenes this

(11:57):
week leading up to Friday's Banger. I loved Obrek and
Carly Obrach telling Carly, I know, I know what your
niece is up to, your cousin whatever. Who is Lulu
to Carly cousin? Right, I know what she's up to.
That's okay, Lisel's gonna go skid a penhouse out of
the Cosmo. Carly knew it. That's I like that scene

(12:19):
with Carly. Carl's like, all right, well, don't throw under
the bus. It's like you want to see you want
to see Rocco, and you gotta make good with Lulu.
That was a very good scene. And I like the
respect that maybe Obrek and Anna have now they were
great rivals back in the day, right, a couple of
years ago. I like that. You know that Anna sees
a reformed Liaseel. I like that a lot, right, I

(12:41):
like that a lot, kind of like Ada Dinner and
Sonny Bound Chicken Bow Wow, gonna get it on soon.
Oh they're great. How great were those scenes? I absolutely
loved it. A Da Turner and Sonny, the chemistry is
off the charts. He sends her all these gifts as

(13:04):
she's recovering from her ankle issue from the softball game
or whatever problem she had. She goes over to his
house and she sees the dad side of him with Donna.
She's falling for him. Oh my god, it's great. Sonny
really likes her. I don't. I've read some theories where
he's trying to play her. No, I think he really
likes her, between the gifts, taking care of her at

(13:26):
the hospital, making them pizza and Donna really, I mean
eighty eight turners like, Okay, give me some olives on
that pizza. I like it. Eighty turner justin Justine needs
to lighten up a little bit. And I thought that
was a really good scene. She's seeing Sonny for a dad,
for a loving dad, and maybe he's not Yea, he's mafia,
but maybe he's not so bad. They have a great
they have great chemistry. And I saw on Reddit like, oh,

(13:50):
she's just a kid and he's like sixty. She's a kid,
She's like a forty three year old kid. Then whoever
said that comment, like, you an idiot. And if you
do believe that, then I hope you are the same
person that judges Ava with Michael Carinthos that you judge
Sonny for sleeping with Ava, his son's ex. I hope
that you're critical like that. Then if you really want

(14:11):
to go there, you want to go down age difference,
and you want to go with inappropriate relationships on the show,
then you better stay consistent. Don't sit there and say
Sonny and eighty eight turners are an age difference. Get
a life, Get a life. It's a soap opera. Okay,
that's a healthy age difference. It's fine, it's fifteen years whatever.
He looks great, she's phenomenal, and she's not a kid,

(14:32):
So knock it off, all right. Sorry, I'm ranting, but
I want to see them get together. They don't. They
don't ich me. I like them together. They look good together.
She's married to Sidwell, by the way, in real life.
If you did not know that.

Speaker 4 (14:51):
Yeah, don't, don't don't, don't don't do that. Don't don't
play that game. She's a kid.

Speaker 1 (14:59):
Yeah, okay, she's forty three years old. How about Drew
and Alexis, Boy, Drew is gonna take Storm and just
cut her off from everybody. I mean intense. I thought
Alexis was great. She handled that scene very well, really
good acting that Nancy Graves at her name really probably
butchered the name that I always do. But she was great,

(15:21):
great scenes, great scenes. Drew getting slapped and punched by
Michael and slapped Drew deserves it, uh, but well played
using Wiley, Well played, sir, Because you know what, that's
what villains do. What don't we have on the show
right now? True villains? What don't we have on the

(15:43):
show right now? True super couples? Right, we don't. And
gh thrives, guys, when there's the Casadides and you have
the Anna and the Dukes, and you have these power
couples that carry the show. We talked last week. I
always say, you know, hey, there's three soaps on television
right The two of them are the CBS soaps with
Guiding light Bulb and the Beautiful, and the third is General

(16:05):
Hospital ABC General Hospital's third of third of three. These
our lives got delegated to what peacock. They couldn't even
cut the mustard. My grandfather used to say, that doesn't
cut the mustard. Great saying. Older people have these amazing sayings.
My father, my father used to be like son, I'm

(16:27):
almost impressed. Used to hate that, and then years later
I'd be like, Okay, yeah, I get it now. While
he was doing that, was doing that to motivate me.
My father always had this saying. He'd be like, son,
it's time to start thinking about thinking about it. I
love that. I love you dad, I miss you every day.

(16:49):
Oh that's a great one. Time to start thinking about
thinking about it. Get motivated. Gosh, I lost my mom
and dad in the span of ten years, my aunt,
my nana, all my direct relatives for four closest people
to me, minus my brother. Think the lord. He's alive
and thriving well for in Europe right now, him and

(17:10):
his wife. He's My brother's become that guy. He posts
his workouts, posts his food, like all right, all right,
we get it. We get it enough, but we get it.
Nobody cares that you took Oh he posted his steps
the other day. I'm like, all right, great, twenty nine
thousand steps in Amsterdam. Congrats. But he's thriving. But yeah,
I lost everybody other than that, four or four people
in ten years. If you lost a mom and dad, guys,

(17:33):
you know, like they're different types of deaths too. And
I'm very lucky to have a relationship with both. They
were amazing a great childhood, great with racists with my
mom and dad. So all right, anyway, let's get off
of that. I'm an orphan, I get it. Yes, uh yeah,
Juda lect has had a very intense scene. Okay, here's
something in between, and it could be bad because I

(17:54):
thought this character had a really bad week Isaiah. Guys,
what is going on with Isaiah? Like? Is he getting
creepy now? Last week I said that he's not the
type of person that would go and tell Portia that
he saw Jordan and Curtis together, and all of a sudden,

(18:19):
he's asking Felicia out for help, Like Felicia would be
a great therapist, by the way, very unlike Isaiah. What's
going on there? There's a theory on Reddit that maybe
he could end up being psycho when he's gonna use
that cabin for one of his victims that Lucky gifted
to him. I don't know about that. I feel like
that's getting a little carried away. But yeah, I thought

(18:42):
there was some very very interesting, you know, interesting scenes
with him. You know. I saw also like comments like,

(19:04):
you know, why is Geo so mad at Brooklyn and Dante?
And I kind of kind of agree, like, dude, just
time to get over it, you know what I mean,
Like get over it. They're your parents. They're trying. I
get your angle a little bit, I mean, but they

(19:24):
gotta stretch it out. I get it. I get it,
And I got downvoted on Reddit. I got three down
votes on it because I said, I said, poor baby
had his character attacked. He needs it tough enough and
be more like his grandfather's Sonny. That didn't go over well.
I'm okay with it. I'm good with it. I'm good
with it. I'm good with it because that's how I feel. So,
you know, uh, but I think Geo needs to kind

(19:48):
of you know, yeah, tough onen up a little bit.
I do, like I do. Having said that, I definitely
like I like the character of Geo a lot. But yeah,
Isaiah was weird creepy looks this week and just really
un Isaiah, like I don't know if you caught it,
and I was sitting there watching them, HM, very interesting,
Like the writers, I don't know if they're trying to
maybe find out or get him involved somehow, because I said,

(20:13):
I had another good post on Reddit Top three. By
the way, that the writers need to figure it out.
He's become the shoulder to cry on for everybody. It's true,
great listener. But then Isaiah is smirking and now he's
kind of getting a little nosy. Nelly going to Felicia.
I don't know what the angle is there. I don't know.

(20:36):
I don't know, guys. I'm so excited about Sunny Nadya Turner.
My god, I called it like maybe two months ago.
I said they got to get together. I really hope
that it does happen. Mm so yeah, I thought that
was It was a bad week for Isaiah, bad week
for Drew. But that's what villains do. They use kids,

(21:02):
and I love it. I want my villain to play
dirty and hip below the belt. Boom, let's go. We
need a villain. We need a super couple. Do Ada
Turner and Sonny have what it takes to be a
super couple? There could be something there because they are
opposites now. When I said Molly and Cody a couple

(21:22):
of weeks ago, I threw it out there because I
wasn't sure myself. And maybe a younger, funny, light hearted,
romantic couple. But I do think Sonny and Ada Turner.
They there's potential supercuple there. I really think that guys,

(21:47):
Nathan is coming back? What is that deal there? Like
Nathan is returning? Is he coming back as Nathan? I
mean his sister was Britt correct as mother is, Liesel,
They're all back. I don't know, interesting, right, very interest.

(22:19):
They all return from the dead. I mean that's that's
that's what they do. I love the Tracy and Cody
conversation this week. She just has his ear and he listens. Right,
It's an unlikely friendship, but man, I like it likely.
She brushed his jacket a sport, like she was kind
of wiping like a little dust off of him when
she was leaving. Great scenes again, Liesel asking Anna for

(22:43):
a character reference right here, right there at the Metro Court, Liesel,
carly Anna and Brennan's vaces were all priceless, really good stuff.
And then we had to the Five Poppies. So good,

(23:06):
Oh my god, right, I mean just so good to
five Poppies. How about it, Britt and Jason seeing each other?
What did you think of that? Man? That was intense,
super intense. Gosh, I don't know, I don't know. I

(23:28):
cannot wait to see how that's gonna play out, all
of the drama, how they acknowledge each other. I thought
Britt looked great the pool side. I thought Joss looked
phenomenal this week in her dress at the Five Poppies.

(23:50):
I thought Porsha looked stunning on her night with Curtis Man.
Did you think that maybe Curtis and Jordan were gonna
kiss in her new penhouse for a second there, I
was like, ooh, this is gonna be interesting. Bow wow.
But no, it did not happen, and of course then
Porscha and Curtis bounce bow wow. Yeah. Still a little

(24:16):
love triangle there. If creepy Isaiah can be not creepy
him and Liz, what do you think of that? What
do you think of that? Kai is still a little bitch?
Would you like some iced tea? Trina? Shut up? Yeah,
Let's have Kai in all the scenes and let's make
sure that we delegate Cody. Yeah, okay, that's that's a

(24:37):
smart move. Although Kai doesn't come in as much as
he used to, so but I thought. I thought the ladies,
the leading ladies all looked great this week. I like
Michael again. This new Michael is so good. I love
when he's when he punched Drew. He's tough, he's tough,
and he's intense. Right, I've never seen a character effortlessly

(24:59):
slide into recast so good, unlike Lulu. Yeah, that's what
I think of Lulu. But this Michael is really good
and it's it's gonna get it's gonna get so good.
And guys, again, we've talked about it. Okay, we've talked
about it, the chatter of Monica quarter made again, coming back,

(25:24):
I mean, in coming up in conversation. What do you
think Let's recast Monica with Rika Slezak. I know I
touched on that a lot last week, but yeah, absolutely.

(25:44):
Oh I can't wait to get caught up here this
week and talk about it again next week with you.
It's gonna be good. Jason and Britt, Josh seeing Britt
Vaughn and Joss W S b. Liasel's back the Five
Poppies so good? What is going on with I already

(26:11):
forgot his name? The professor, what's his name? You know
what I'm talking about? The animal guy. That storyline hasn't
even gotten off nothing unless Britt is tied into that.
I forgot the professor's name, I shouldn't Dalton. Maybe now
it's all gonna start to make sense if Britt is
part of that, Okay, I would hope so, because they're

(26:33):
gonna have to do something to kind of, you know, yeah,
make that work. Lucas and Marco, I don't know Cody
and Molly. What's gonna happen. We didn't get a lot
of Rick this past week, but I'm ready. I am

(26:53):
all about the Five Poppies. I'm all about Jos and Vaughan.
I'm all about lisel back in town. I'm loving where
it's at. Guys. You can follow Man and Soap the
podcast Instagram, Facebook. We're growing this bad Boy week by week,
Like I'm just so pumped up. I can't wait. We

(27:14):
continue to do it every week where we talk about
our favorite city in upstate New York. Poor Jos baby, Guys,
We'll see you next week.
