Speaker 1 (00:04):
Yes Man in soap episode fourteen, Yes dropping a Daylight,
I apologize. Oh what a good week. A week of
really like.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Good conversations, confrontations, mischief, questions, so much good stuff happening
in our favorite city in upstate New.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
York Port Charles Baby, that's right, absolutely broadcasting, of course live. Yeah,
we're at the Metro Court pool. A lot of action
here this week at the pool. Oh my gosh. Yeah,
(01:05):
was not feeling well yesterday's still not feeling well. But
I do this because of you. I'm doing this for you.
I am a martyr for you to bring you this podcast.
Tell all your friends and be like, hey, this guy's
he's the best. Hey, he's the best, and he's a martyr.
He he does it for us. He does the podcast
with one hundred and seven degree temperature. No, I'm just kidding.
(01:27):
But not feeling well, but yeah, so that hends of delay.
Try to be consistent. This is episode. I think it's
just at fourteen if you're just tuning in. I love
the soap General Hospital. I've watched this since I was
a kid. A little pain in the ass, a little
rugrat with my mom. I go back to the Sean Donnelly,
(01:48):
Sean Donnelly, Robert Scorpio, Days, Duke and Anna met Duke
and Anna together, by the way, name dropping totally, of course. Yep, absolutely,
I think that Alcazart is the greatest criminal of all time.
So I've got some street cred. I guess Okay, you're wondering, well,
what makes him such an expert? Why why does he
(02:09):
have his own podcast? I mean, watching him my whole
life forty years, that'll do it to you, right, if
you don't know anything after forty years and you're an idiot.
I mean I'm kind of im an idiot anyway, But no,
I love General Hospital. Appreciate you tuning in, and we
break this podcast down pretty simple, and Michael will be
joining us. Michael's been a I've been doing this. I've
been gone soul the last three weeks. But he'll be
(02:30):
back next week. And if you're new to the podcast,
thank you. I appreciate you. These usually come out on Sundays,
but I am a daylight and I'm gonna pay the
price for it. I know it, but it's okay, that's okay.
We go to give you a darn good podcast because
we're gonna break it down good bad in between. I've
got one particular thing bad I want to talk about.
I've got one character I think could be on the
(02:51):
chopping block in my in the Man and So chopping block.
It kind of pains pains me to mention this character.
But yeah, I thought there was a lot of good
this week. Like I said, great conversations I love earlier
in the week, and we don't break the podcast down episodically,
so we just kind of cover a full range in
(03:12):
a short period of time. I thought the Michael in
Chase scene the beginning of the week was super intense
Chase kind of and Chase is such a weak man.
He is such a little bitch. He is a weak man.
(03:37):
Willow cheats on him during their marriage or were they
briefly married Ray, and he's still defending her. He's such
a soft little man. I know he looks good though,
I mean he looks good bad at the pool looks tough.
What's up? Yeah, I'm talking about you. I don't even
(03:59):
know I'm looking at Chase right now. Oh yeah, a
lot of action here at the Metro courtpool is really good.
But it's Chase. It's just like, did your sap like Mike,
just like Michael is this new Michael is very stern,
like he's in command, like I like. When he looked
(04:20):
at Chase, he goes, we're not having this conversation. Chase
went low though, he says, oh, well, you know, okay,
considering well, you you know, you stole my wife from me?
What did What did Michael say? Oh, you're breaking out
the big guns. So I'll give Chase that. But overall
it's like, we don't need you, uh, we don't need
(04:46):
you to defend Will.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
Right.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
But I thought that was a good way to start
the week. I thought was an intense conversation. They were
really good. And I did say this in the beginning,
like there were really good conversations all week long, U
and that was a particularly good one. Another thing I liked, okay,
good bad in between good good good. Lisal had a
(05:19):
great week, right, Lisel had a great week. Roco's number
one fan. I'm your number one fan. Oh it's gonna
get some wacecream. It's a horrible Liseel limitation. She's great.
I mean she's just great, right, I mean I like her.
(05:45):
I know she's got her flaws, but man, every scene
that she's in is just really good, really good. So
I thought Liesel had a great week. I love the
meeting with her and Lulu and Dante and Laura facilitating it.
(06:06):
I thought that was really good. Laura trying to play
the peacekeeper. I thought, Liesel and Dante while we're just
staying on Liesel, that was intense.
Speaker 2 (06:17):
Man.
Speaker 1 (06:17):
Dante going to I remember, I know who you are.
I will go out and look for every search warrant
if I have to. Liesel's like, well, you know, go ahead.
You can explain to Roco that you put the grandmother
away and you know, and that's an interesting point. So
I'll ask you while you're listening and you can either
you know, come up with your your answer on this.
Do you believe Lisel? Like, is she technically really rocos grandmother? Now?
(06:42):
She fully believes she is? Dante and Lulu do not.
I think Laura's kind of in between. Laura's always playing peacekeeper.
What do you think? I don't know, right, I think
she is. I mean, you know, I think Brittain and
the Ambroso stole and I get it, but you know,
(07:03):
I mean britt gave Roco baby Ben life, you know,
so I thought that was a very good scene. I
love Oh my gosh, and I've been calling for this,
speaking of the good stop Sonny and eighty A Turner,
(07:27):
let's go. Oh, the seeds are being planted. That was
more leesel ol Breck right there, right, seeds are being planted.
They have got mad chemistry. And I don't think he's
he might be using her posture. I don't know, but
(07:53):
they were great. Her ankle getting twisted. It's a good
week of softball. Walk off Homer. In the ninth we
got an Erica Caine mentioned that's Susan Lucci, Right? Is
that Eric Kcaine? Oh? I have a theory I wanna
(08:20):
bring up here in a second. I love Liesel to
Anna Evening Scarecrow, when she ran into Evening Scarecrow. It's
a really good line. Just I'm still harping on Lisa's
It's just great week. Lisa just pouring it down, man,
(08:43):
I mean she was bringing it in that meeting. What
do we think about Anna and the dog. I think
it's funny. I like, Chase, Ah, you're a pop patrol.
He did not go over world with Anna. She's like, no, no, no,
I think it's funny. I think it's nice to see Anna.
It's nice after all these years are for being so
(09:05):
serious and now she's gotten this dog. It's a domestic
life with Emma and Geo. It's great. It's a different
side of Anna, which I love. I mean, I love Anna,
and I thought, uh, there's a lot of Anna this week.
Her and Brennan. Brennan going, hey, you disclose Jos treeson
baby treason right now. I did get word. I think
(09:31):
on the Reddit thread Brennan is gonna be moved up
to like full time status. So I think that's a
great thing. I do love Brennan. I do love Brennan.
You can follow Man and Soap the Podcast. By the way,
you can follow us on Instagram, Facebook, Man and Soap
(09:55):
the Podcast. I appreciate that for sure. Uh, other good things.
Let's get to the bad. The bad again this week
was the Lulu scenes are just painful to watch, Like,
come back to your freaking coma please and go m forever.
(10:20):
Nobody cares if you like Lulu. Don't turn this podcast off.
We're not gonna get on. Well, keep it on, but
we're still not gonna get on.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
No, there's nothing redeemable about Lu nothing RBF face. We'll
go from the Koma piss that RBF oh venom in
her eyes. She's fred, she's scowls. She's nasty. Worst recast ever?
Speaker 1 (10:51):
Have I said that before? If you listen to podcast,
you know I feel about that. Yeah, worst fucking recast ever.
Part of my friend it worked up over Lulu. Just
a scene are painful to watch. Angry. Please do not
put her in Dante back together, my gosh, really just
(11:15):
her scenes are brutal? Is Britt? Here's some in between stuff.
Is Britt being kidnapped? Like, what's the deal? Who's this
guy like holding you know, holding her hostage?
Speaker 3 (11:34):
I guess.
Speaker 1 (11:34):
But yet she you know, she got that that one
French enforce or whatever got kind of fired up with
her on Friday. But you got pushing your luck. I
love me some Joson Vaughan entering into the Five Poppies.
Let's go. It's gonna heat up. Remember, guys, Britt saved
Johns's life. How they are going to acknowledge Britt and
(11:56):
the death? I have no idea. I can't wait to
find that out. Uh. Yeah, Drew's kind of falling apart right,
(12:21):
desperate to find anything on Willow They're done, Rick and
Ava are done. Toast Cody and Ava summer flings, summer sex,
totally gonna blow what I want to see him and
Molly together. Yes, I put it out there on Reddit.
(12:42):
I said, I'm kind of throwing this out there. And
you know, of course I was top three on posts
on Reddit because my post all go top three, you guys,
I'm serious. I am an assassin on Reddit, and this
one was a banger. Post had like three three hundred
and I god, I had like five hundred insights already
in like the first twin minutes of this post. I said,
I'm thinking out loud here, do Molly and Cody have
(13:04):
the it factor to be a super couple? A lot
of people don't think that that they have it, Like
(13:26):
they think that they're cute and they're light, so they're
a light couple. Like maybe they don't have you know
what it takes? Okay, I mean, I don't know. I mean,
and I said, I was just throwing it out there.
You know about that. I mean, there are a lot
(13:48):
of comments, you know, here's one. None in my opinion,
Molly annoys me, although Christina annoys me much more on
whether Cody and Molly are a super couple. Mark says
they could pull it off if he could get her
to relax a bit and she can get him more motivated.
(14:11):
And this is my point, Mark, I think that's why
they're a great couple. He's kind of a disaster, he's
a shit show, and she's super buttoned up. But Mark
continues to say they could bring him the best out
in each other. They're funny enough, and it was obvious
they are going to be a thing as soon as
they met, which speaks to their chemistry. And I think
they have amazing chemistry. They're not wrong here. This person goes,
(14:33):
don't see any chemistry. Even if they did, the bad
writing would destroy them, no doubt. The writing is been better.
Gwyneth goes she wears mom jeans, and Raymond goes, I
don't need to see Molly with anyone. She's just too
bland and has no chemistry with anyone. He goes, TJ
(14:59):
was for me. Well, TJ is the worst. TJ sucked.
Nobody cared about TJ. He was a dud. So that
was my thought on Reddit this week. I so you
know Cody and Amber are gonna get it on what's
(15:20):
going on with Isaiah? Like, I'm worried. Could Isaiah be
on the chopping block? He hasn't even been here this long,
but hear me out, where's he going? Like him? And
is he what's he gonna do? Is he gonna make
(15:42):
a play for Porscha now? Because he sees Jordan and
Curtis in the park. But he's not that kind of guy.
He's like the world's greatest listener and that's the problem.
And the writers have failed him. And I think he's
very likable. He's ad one of my favorite characters. What
(16:04):
are we doing?
Speaker 3 (16:06):
Like?
Speaker 1 (16:06):
What are we doing? I mean, I don't know. I'm
worried that the writers just have not done enough to
keep his character interesting. I think people like him. I'm
sure he tests very well. I don't know. I'm a
little worried that he might be on the shopping block.
I mean, I really do. And if you listen to
(16:32):
the podcast, you know, guys, I'm very brutal on the
writer sometimes, of course I can't be. I'll also give
credit where credits due. I think the writers have nailed this.
Anna and the Dog is out back? Yeah, good stuff.
How are they going to explain the britt Death. Don't
know mm hmm. Someone said that ad eight Turner looks
(16:59):
just like Brenda. Someone says, well, the only version of
Brenda that will ever work with Sonny is well Brenda.
I like ady A Turner who's married to what's his name? Sidwell?
In real life? I thought, okay, what did you think
(17:20):
of the ice cube scene? Ava and Cody the ice
on the body. The cubes were right over there. I thought,
I just saw Cody walk by. Yeah, text me, Yeah,
(17:41):
I'm in Text Cody and I go to the Brown Dog.
I'm gonna ask him. We go, We Cody can party.
We're gonna I'm gonna talk to Cody about that kiss
with Ava. Very seducive, seductive scene. Summer scene, all constructed
(18:03):
by poor Charles's favorite psycho Christina. Oh the fallout, Oh
all the brain child of psycho Christine. Bomb but bomb
but bomb, bop it up, bump yep. Right ah, So
(18:30):
what do we think about the five poppies in Croatia? Right? Yeah,
oh my gosh, what is going to happen? I mean,
I am just super pumped up for that. I am
super pumped up. And last but not least, and thanks
for your patients again. Sorry, this podcast usually drops on Sundays.
We are a day late, so I'm gonna keep it
(18:51):
kind of uh or We're we're on the home stretch here,
I said, Rick and Avar toast. I have that on
my notes. Yeah, yeah, okay, I'm really worried about Isaiah
being on the chopping block. I really am. You guys like,
(19:13):
I don't know what what the freaking deal is there? Right?
I just don't know. I just I have I have.
I have no clue as to what's going on there,
but the writing they need to step it out. Parent
with Jordan, I don't know. Do what you gotta do, right,
I mean, do it, do what you gotta do. I
(19:33):
don't care how you do it, but make sure that
you know we need Isaiah Gains. He's a stud. Right.
We had no Lucas this past week. Think the Lord
h This Lucas is not good either. But the BRIT's
(19:54):
back the Britch. Will she be Britchie love Lazel. Here's
a question for you, what do you think? Am I
losing my mind? Are we going to recast Monica with
Erica Sleazak coming into town? If the writers, if the
writers put her in like a four to six week run,
(20:17):
and that's it. And it's just a short run. They
have failed once again. Okay, if they have half a
brain and they do you bring back Monica Quarterman. You notice,
and this is how it works in Port Charles. The
Monica chatter is heating up and I'm loving it. Bought up,
bah bah bah, I'm loving it. I mean I want
(20:44):
her as Monica Quarterman. They have not acknowledge Leslie Charleston's death.
They're talking about Monica more and more by the week.
If you've noticed, are we in for an amazing recast well,
which would change the whole the trajectory of the soap. See, guys,
there's three soaps, right, there's three television soaps. Two of
(21:07):
them are CBS and both number one and two, Young
and the Restless, Bullet and Beautiful General Hospitals. Third Days
of our Lives tank so bad that to put on Peacock.
We need to get out of third to third. Okay,
it's time, and you have to continue to make moves
that do this, like bring back Monica quarter made, bring
back that warm blanket Eric Aslizak is age appropriate. It'd
(21:29):
be great. The rival with Tracy. Tracy needs another more Tracy,
more Monica. Let's go. Let's Lucas. Dante's hovering around boring
right like I mean, we need, we need Monica quarter
(21:51):
made back. Figure it out, guys. I'll go out there
and I'll ride it right now for you. Just hit
me up. Let me be on that playing on you.
You know you're buying that first classic. I don't care.
I'll go cod I don't care. I write with the people.
I want Monica quartermain recast, good stuff. This week's gonna
(22:14):
be good. The Britch, Jos Vaughan, Anna, Jason, are Anna
and Jason gonna go to Croatia together? Or is Jason
gonna go alone? Is Lee's gonna be able to see Rocko?
What's gonna happen with Willow? She's become like her twin? Now,
bring New back while we're at it too, By the way,
(22:34):
please bring New back, bring Nell back. You fail when
you bring back people like Lucky. They're an Eva LaRue
whoever whatever she played, and she dies, and you bring
back Lucas, who's been an anti climatic recast. Or comeback right,
(22:55):
bring back now, bring back Asme, Bring back Julian Jerome
gh needs a pop and needs a little pep in
its step. We'll I'll be watching it because I love
it all about our favorite city and upstate New York.
It's poor Charles Baby. Enjoy this week. Back at it
(23:21):
next week right here, Man and Soap the Podcast. See
you guys,
